The Bengals looked like they were coming into their own after a tie with Philadelphia and a 33-25 win over Jacksonville after that. The wheels came off last week though in a 27-3 loss at Baltimore as +12.5 underdogs.
The Colts could be fired up coming into Sunday’s meeting after losing 32-23 to Cleveland last Sunday. The defeat snapped a 3-game winning streak for Indianapolis, who are back home after the last two on the road.
Cincinnati Bengals
The good thing for Bengals rookie QB Joe Burrow heading into the week 6 matchup is that the Colts defense looked human last week. The Browns rattled off 124 on the ground, and Baker Mayfield tossed for 247 with 2/2.
Burrow may have his confidence rattled heading into Sunday’s game however. The #1 pick has shown promise with three straight 300+ yard games, but was humbled in a 183 yard 0/1 performance against the Ravens.

The Bengals defense can do their rookie QB a favor by limiting the Colts offense, which has been doable this season. The Colts got a win in week 4 despite scoring just 19 points against the Bears and were held to 23 last week.
Indianapolis Colts
How do the Colts fix their offense heading into Sunday’s tilt? Indianapolis ranks 23rd overall in yards/game and is no better than 18th in any offensive category. The betting total for Sunday’s game is 46.5.
The Colts have struggled offensively the last two, but against a couple solid defenses in Chicago and Cleveland. Cincinnati would not classify in that same realm, giving up the 3rd most rush yards/game in the league and ranking 23rd in total yards.
Sunday should be a good day on the ground for the Colts’ Jonathan Taylor, who has been getting praise but still hasn’t rushed for more than 70 yards the last three games. Philip Rivers is completing 70.8% of his passes this year, but threw 0 TD and 2 INT last week vs. Cleveland.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Bengals are 10-4 ATS last 14 as a road underdog
- Bengals are 2-7 ATS last 9 games in October
- Colts are 4-1 ATS last 5 home games
- Under is 10-3-1 in Bengals last 14 road games
- Under is 5-1 last 6 head to head in Indianapolis
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 46.5
Baltimore solved Burrow last week, and the Colts should follow that blueprint nicely. At the same time, the Colts offense has looked mediocre the last couple weeks.
There’s been a record number of points scored in the NFL this year, but this game just isn’t looking to follow that trend. The 46.5 total is one of the lowest of the Sunday slate, and the first team to 23 will probably get the W.
