The Carolina Panthers will make the trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Braves in a huge NFC South showdown.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers made some changes this offseason including bringing in a new offensive coordinator in Norv Turner and there were some questions about what effect he would have Cam Newton.
It’s only been one game but so far the results have looked good with the Panthers beating the Dallas Cowboys 16-8. Newton finished the game with only 151 but he did a good job on the ground finishing with 69 yards and one touchdown.
The most impressive part of the Panthers game might have been the way the defense played. They frustrated the Cowboys offense all night and that led to the victory.

They are going into a hostile environment in this game and at times Newton has struggled playing in Atlanta. Turner needs to create a plan that allows him to get comfortable early in this game and then hope the defense can do their job too.
If they can play a bend not break style of defense and get the Falcons to kick field goals instead of touchdowns they should feel good about their chances in this game.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons come into this game having lost their first game against the Philadelphia Eagles and a big reason why was how bad the team was in the red zone.
Against the Eagles they were settling for field goals or not even getting any points and it led to a heartbreaking defeat.
One of the bright spots for the Falcons was Julio Jones who had his way with the Eagles defense all night. He finished the game with 10 receptions for 169 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball they played well but they are going to be very shorthanded in this game, especially in the secondary.
Keanu Neal tore his ACL against the Eagles and that is a huge blow to a defense that was supposed to be very good this year.
In this game the young guys are going to need to step up on defense and the offense needs to start scoring points in the red zone.
They can’t keep settling for field goals, they need to finish the drives with touchdowns.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Panthers ATS
The Falcons can’t seem to finish drives and I think that will continue in this game.
NFL Free Week 2 Score Prediction: Carolina 21 – Falcons 16
The Panthers defense is going to force the Falcons to kick field goals and that will be the difference. It’s going to cost the Falcons and they will fall to 0-2 on the season.
If the Falcons do lose in this game the question is will they be able to recover and turn around their season or will their season be all but over.
