Both of these teams are off to 1-0 starts.
The Bills avoided embarrassment by beating a New York Jets team that many think could be the worst in the league this season.
Carolina got an easy road win at San Francisco with Cam Newton looking very sharp.
The early line here says Carolina has little difficulty winning at home against the Bills. You might want to bet it now if you like that side.
It definitely wasn’t pretty but Buffalo got the win to open the season. Good thing too because looking at their schedule their might not be one for a while.
As expected the Bills featured Shady McCoy, by far their best playmaker. He rushed for more 100 yards and was as shifty as ever.
I know it was against the Jets but New York has a strong defensive front so don’t just dismiss those numbers. They might need even more from him at Carolina.
Tyrod Taylor was not a certainty until later in the week but he was showing no ill effects from being in concussion protocol. At the same time he was not great.
He might struggle all season long as the Bills do not have great weapons for him (other than McCoy). TE Charles Clay saw nine targets which might mean something for fantasy players.
The Bills defensive numbers were good against New York but those you do have to take with a grain of salt. There is probably no more hapless team in that area than the Jets.
The thing I did like is that they forced two fumbles and made two interceptions. The fumbles were recovered by the Jets but they are going to have to win the turnover battle to have a chance in most games.
This was hardly a signature win but it should give the Bills some confidence heading into week 2. Now they are on the other side of another big number.
Carolina has as much to prove this season as any team after last year’s post Super Bowl swoon. Step one is beating the teams you are supposed to beat like San Francisco. They won 23-3.
The 20 point win and easy cover is nice but they are hardly clicking on all cylinders. Luckily for them they can probably beat Buffalo without revving up to top speed.
Cam Newton is definitely the engine for the Panthers and he was average in week one. He threw a couple of TDs but was also picked off an did not run effectively.
They want to run him less but I am not sure that is a winning strategy for the way this team is constructed.
They are committed to running the ball though, they were not very good at it against San Francisco. Jonathan Stewart and Christian McCaffery split carries without either having that great a day.
Similar to Buffalo the defensive numbers look good but it is as much the ineptitude of San Francisco as the defensive prowess of the Panthers. Though I like their potential on that side of the ball.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Panthers -7
I find it very interesting that after opening at 7.5 this line has already been bet down to 7. I guess there are a lot of folks who liked the ky number there.
NFL Free Week 2 Score Prediction: Carolina 28 – Buffalo 17
Carolina should be better at home this week. Their top receivers (Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen) only caught three balls. Look for them to get fed next week and make some big plays.
I do not see this one jumping below 7 though so per the intro now is probably the time to jump on this number, without that extra hook. This is another matchup they can win easily.
