Both teams won last week and while this is still the preseason, both sides will be looking to further improve an evaluate their young players.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills beat the Colts in week one by a score of 24-16. This game saw the Bills go up 17-3 at halftime. They allowed the Colts to come back before putting away the game in the fourth quarter.
The offense racked up a total of 381 yards in this game. They had 237 yards passing and 163 yards on the ground. Matt Barkley led the way in passing, going 9 of 14 with 126 yards an one touchdown. Josh Allen went 6 of 11 for 66 yards, and rookie Tyree Jackson went 2 of 10 for 20 yards. Another standout on the offensive side for Buffalo was Christian Wade.
The former Rugby player broke off a 65 yard touchdown run with his one carry in the game. This likely opened the eyes of the Bills coaching staff and maybe even other teams around the league. It is too early to assume anything, but Wade could be a guy the Bills will want to use more often.
The leading receiver for the Bills was Isaiah McKenzie. He had two receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. Here is another guy that if utilized correctly could make a big impact for this offense.

Defensively the Bills allowed 314 total yards to the Colts. Granted, Andrew Luck did not play, but this is a step in the right direction. The Bills forced one interception an allowed just one touchdown. Some other key stats show that they held the Colts to 0 for 2 in the Red Zone and limited them to 4 for 16 on third down.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers took on the Bears last week and ended up beating them 23-13. The Panthers scored just 6 points in the first half, but scored 17 in the second half to complete the comeback. Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey did not play, but their were several other guys who were able to contribute.
To start, week one saw Will Grier play his first NFL game. Grier went 9 of 16 for 77 yards. He threw for one touchdown, but also threw one interception. Kyle Allen went 7 for 11 with 76 yards.
The running game for the Panthers was pretty much shut down all game along. The only bright spot was Elijah Holyfield scored the only rushing touchdown for Carolina, but had just 26 yards on 9 carries. The Panthers will be looking for more from Holyfield going forward as a backup to McCaffrey. Overall, the Panthers offense looked pretty weak against the Bears.
Yes, this is the preseason and yes the starters played very little, but if the Panthers are going to compete for a playoff spot, they will need to see more from their backups.

The defense for the Panthers was pretty solid to start the preseason. They held the Bears to 205 passing yards and just 82 rushing yards. They did not force a turnover, but held the Bears to 4 of 13 on third down plays. They also only had three sacks, which will need to improve against the Bills.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: UNDER 40
The total is set at 40 for this game at most sportsbooks. I look for defense to be a priority this week, and for the offenses to struggle more than they did last week. I will take the under in this game.
NFL Free Preseason Score Prediction: Buffalo Bills 17 – Carolina Panthers 21
I look for the Panthers to hang on for a win and cover, but more importantly, the total will go under.
