We have reached week seven of the NFL season.
It’s a huge non conference showdown on Sunday afternoon at US Bank Stadium.
The Baltimore Ravens come to town to take on the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have won three of the last four games played between the two teams.
The last game however in 2013 the Ravens won 29-26.
The Baltimore Ravens have had a very up and down season so far this year, and they really need a win in this game to turn around their season.
They come into this game with a 3-3 record, and if they were to lose this game it would be a very uphill climb to make it to the playoffs.
Two games ago they played the Oakland Raiders and looked really good doing so. The offense was clicking and the defense was strong and that led to a 30-17 victory, and things were looking up in Baltimore.
But in the last game they took on the Bears and it didn’t turn out as well. They used a late comeback to force overtime against the Bears, but the Bears kicked a field goal in overtime to come out ahead 27-24.
To win this game the Ravens are going to need to find a way to move the ball on a very tough Vikings defense.
The Vikings have done a good job of forcing turnovers the last couple of games and Joe Flacco. who can be turnover prone at time is going to need to be better at holding onto the ball.
On the other side of this match up is the Minnesota Vikings who have had all kinds of injuries this season, but still have found a way to come into this game with a 4-2 record.
They have had guys step up in key spots and have made important plays down the stretch to have success. In their last game they played the Packers and after Aaron Rodgers was knocked out with a broken collarbone the vikings defense attacked.
They made life really difficult on Brett Hundley and the offense did enough to come out ahead 23-10.
The biggest key this year for the Vikings this year has been their backup quarterback, Case Keenum. He has stepped up in the absence of Bradford and the offense really hasn’t missed a beat.
Against the Packers he threw for 239 yards and a touchdown and an interception, which was his first interception of the season.
To win this game they really just need to play their game. The defense needs to be blitzing and attacking all night long and making life difficult for the Ravens offense.
On the offensive side they need to not turn the ball over and keep moving the ball down the field with ease. Fumbles and turnovers have been a bit of an issue the last couple of weeks and that needs to change in this game.
NFL Betting Trends:
- BAL are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games.
- MIN are 24-8 ATS in their last 32 home games.
- MIN are 33-15 ATS in their last 48 games overall.
