Week seven will see the Arizona Cardinals taking on the New York Giants. The Cardinals are coming off their second win in a row, while the Giants are coming off their second straight loss.
This game will feature two rookies quarterbacks, Kyler Murray and Daniel Jones. Both guys will be wanting to outplay each other, especially with the chance to take the lead in the NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year talks.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals beat the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday, but this was a game that could have gone either way. The Cardinals needed a missed extra point after allowing a touchdown with less than two minutes in the game to pull out a win.
Their offense had a field day against the Falcons, putting up 440 yards of total offense. This was well above their season average of 376.8. Kyler Murray threw for 340 yards, 3 touchdowns and most importantly, 0 interceptions. He also completed 72.9% of his passes, going 27 of 37.

The defense was a huge problem for the Cardinals, allowing 442 yards in this most recent game. If not for a missed extra point, this game might have gone into overtime and they would have likely allowed even more yards. On the season, they are now allowing 414 yards per game. This is 30th in the league.
Their scoring defense is also very bad as they allow, 28.5 points per game, 29th in the NFL. To go along with this, they are 30th in pass defense and 26th in rush defense.
The Cardinals need to prepare for this game assuming that Saquon Barkley will be making his return. If they are caught off guard by him, they will struggle to stop him and it will lead to a game where they might get blown out.
New York Giants
The Giants are coming off two tough losses that saw Daniel Jones struggle. To be fair, these two games were both on the road and came against the Minnesota Vikings (Week 5) and the New England Patriots (Week 6). They finally get to return home where they will welcome the Arizona Cardinals, who just so happen to have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
The Giants lost to the Patriots 35-14, a game where Daniel Jones could not really do anything. He threw for 161 yards, had just one touchdown and three interceptions.

As a team, the Giants only had 213 total yards of offense to show for. They were dominated at the line of scrimmage by what is probably the best defense in the league and managed just 52 rushing yards.
Having a third string running back play was no help to this offense, so the Giants may be looking to throw the ball a lot more if Saquon Barkley is not able to play.
The defense for the Giants allowed 427 total yards to the Patriots. They did keep Tom Brady from throwing a touchdown, but Brady did manage to rush for two touchdowns.
The Giants managed to score a defensive touchdown after a fumble recovery, so that is one positive to take away from this most recent week.
If Saquon is able to play this week, the Giants will be in a good position to win. Daniel Jones should have a much better game going against this defense and should look like he did against the Buccaneers a few weeks ago.
NFL Betting Trends:
- The total has gone OVER in 5 of Arizona’s last 7 games.
- The total has gone OVER in 5 of NY Giants’ last 7 games against an opponent in the NFC conference.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: OVER 49.5
Both defenses are very poor and both teams should be able to have their way. I like the over in this game and look for the Giants to get a home win.
