Not a great time to be suffering injuries to your core group but that’s what the Cavaliers are currently dealing with. Darius Garland missed the last two games with a sore quad and Jarrett Allen left the last match with an eye injury.

Overall, Cleveland tops the league for opponent scoring limiting foes to an average of 106.6 points per game. Cavs opponents shoot 46.6% from the field and 37% from deep ranking seventh and 23rd.
Injury Report
To summarize the injury report…
- Darius Garland PG (questionable — quad)
- Jarrett Allen C (questionable — left last game with eye injury)
Charlotte Hornets
Although they aren’t likely to win the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes or even get into the play-in tournament there are small victories the Hornets can pull from this segment of the season.
Most notably, head coach Steve Clifford has the Hornets playing much better defensively (sixth best offense through the last five games) and that’s led to their recent success and wins.
Season Stats
Charlotte ranks 26th averaging 111.8 points per game while shooting 45.5% from the field and 32.8% from the perimeter ranking 26th and 29th respectively.
Defensively, Charlotte is giving up an average of 117.5 points which ranks 24th. Opponents shoot 47.7% from the field and 36% from the perimeter ranking 18th and 14th respectively.
Injury Report
To summarize the injury report…
- Cody Martin, SF (questionable —left knee soreness)
- Mark Williams C (questionable —left the last game after injuring his thumb)

Free Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Charlotte Hornets NBA Prediction:
For most of the season I’ve pointed to the Cavs success and good fortune due to facing opponents without their stars versus losses when facing the same teams at full strength.
A new item I’m noticing is the impact of Donovan Mitchell iso ball late in games. Sure, he’s a superstar and brilliant baller, but watch his teammates on the court when he reverts to iso-ball late in games.
At these moments his teammates look far less invested in defense because Mitchell essentially takes them out of sync — and subsequently they’ve lost some close matches lately in spite of massive scoring efforts from Mitchell.
Cleveland can’t afford to underestimate the Hornets who’ve shocked a few elite teams lately. That shouldn’t be a factor versus the Hornets although they can’t take them for granted.
