09-18-17 | Lions v. Giants UNDER 42.5 | 24-10 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday Night Mayhem is on the Lions/Giants Under The Lion defense was pretty good against a similar Arizona team in their opener. The Cardinals scored 23 points but 14 came by way of a Carson Palmer pick six and the other seven on a garbage time touchdown in the final minute. With or without Beckham, the Giants are a nightmare on offense with arguably the worst OL in the NFL that can't run block or protect Eli long enough to throw the ball down field which is his strength. The Big Blue defense is tough but often compromised by being left on the field forever. G-Men 4-1 in L5 five home openers but did so still averaging just 18 ppg., the Under 4-1. Play the Under here. Bonus Teaser: Lions and Under |
09-17-17 | Redskins v. Rams -2.5 | 27-20 | Loss | -120 | 30 h 48 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFL Week Two Personal Best is on the Los Angeles Rams The Rams did some nice things in their blowout win over the Colts. Granted it as a Colts but the offense is starting to come around and the defense is solid after new HC McVey made the best assistant hire of the offseason in grabbing Wade Phillips. Trends and past history are all Skins here but they for the most part inapplicable here as these are not the Rams under Jeff Fisher and Cousins has none of the weapons that allowed him some measure of success the last two years. Rams also get back one of the league's best defensive players to bring additional heat. Rams by 10. |
09-17-17 | Cowboys v. Broncos OVER 42 | 17-42 | Win | 100 | 29 h 30 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Blue Chip NFL Total is on the Cowboys/Broncos Over Dallas dodged a bullet with Zeke able to play and giving Dak his full compliment of weapons in his sophomore season. The running game will loosen up the Bronco defense and allow the passing game to hit on all cylinders. On the other side, Simien should be able to have success against a suspect Dallas secondary that is already battling the injury bug. As the Cowboys start to wear down in the altitude, look for this one to become a shootout. |
09-17-17 | Patriots -6 v. Saints | 36-20 | Win | 100 | 19 h 41 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFL Week Two Road Warrior is on the New England Patriots Since 2003, the Pats have lost 48 under Belichick. In the next game, they are 41-7 straight up and have covered over 70% of those games. Both teams suffering somewhat from injuries with New Orleans by far having the worst of it losing both starting offensive tackles and having lone downfield threat Willie Snead serving the second game of a three-game suspension. Just a bad overall spot for the Saints as the Pats have extra time to prepare after traditional Thursday night opener while Whodats return home banged up after Monday night roadie. New England 38-23. |
09-17-17 | Browns v. Ravens -7.5 | 10-24 | Win | 100 | 18 h 19 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Conference Game of the Month is on the Baltimore Ravens There is no doubt that the Brown play hard but despite playing Pitt close in the opener they were 3-17 on third down and had a punt blocked. Kizer makes his first road start after getting sacked seven times by the Steelers and faces a tough Raven defense that held the Bengals to 221 yards of total offense and created five turnovers. Cleveland is 1-15 SU L16 road games (6-10 ATS), have lost five straight road openers and 10 of 11 openers overall, and are 1-8 in L9 trips to Baltimore. The Ravens are not much on offense but if Flacco can generate 20 points here and defense plays its usual stingy game, the Raven should not have much trouble covering the seven and a hook here. |
09-16-17 | Ole Miss v. California OVER 72 | 16-27 | Loss | -110 | 100 h 44 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Val/Ole Miss Late Show Bail Out is on the OVER For Ole Miss, this is just the second trip in school history to the PST, the first was in 2011 when the Rebs rolled Fresno State. Reb QB Patterson broke the school record with 489 passing yards last week and looks to be next in a long line of Ole Miss gunslingers. Cal was supposed to be a Pac-12 doormat but has opened 2-0 with a very nice win at North Carolina. Both teams have sketchy defenses at best and it's the first one to 45 that gets the win in this score fest. |
09-16-17 | Cincinnati v. Miami-OH UNDER 45.5 | 21-17 | Win | 100 | 97 h 7 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Trifecta of College Football winners is on Cinn/Miami Oh Under In two games against Austin Peay and Michigan, the Cincinnati Bearcats have been able to generate just 448 yards of total offense. The Cats are averaging less than three yards a rush and face a Miami, Oh team that just held Marshall to 59 yards on 25 carries. The Red Hawks are no offensive juggernaut and tech after applicable tech has this game going under the total. |
09-16-17 | Kentucky v. South Carolina -6 | 23-13 | Loss | -110 | 97 h 47 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NCAAF Conference Revenge Triple Play is on the South Carolina Gamecocks This is a big triple revenge spot for a South Carolina team that is on the rise behind soph gunslinger Jake Bentley. The Gamecock wins need to be deemed upsets only in the fact that they were dogs in the game. The fact is that they are +4 in turnovers and have two KO returns for touchdowns backed by a bend but don't break defense and Bentley. Kentucky was extremely unimpressive in opening win (non-covers) and has done almost nothing on offense and sends out a defense that doesn't tackle well and is suspect in the secondary. South Carolina 33-17. |
09-16-17 | Appalachian State -24 v. Texas State | 20-13 | Loss | -110 | 123 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Under the Radar Bully Beat Down is on the Appalachian State Mountaineers App State regrouped after a tough first half against Georgia to play the Bulldogs tough the rest of the way. Last week the Mounties tuned up with a blowout win over Savannah State that saw the reserves play the entire second half meaning the entire ASU team should be well rested and razor sharp. App State (-31) won this game last year 35-10 with field general Taylor Lamb throwing for four TDs in his 15 completions while to Mountaineer backfield ground out 300+ yards on the ground. The young Bobcats are game but are just 1-4 L5 as a home dog and face conference powerhouse here that is 8-1 L9 as a road favorite. App State 43-6. |
09-16-17 | Baylor v. Duke -14 | 20-34 | Push | 0 | 90 h 46 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Trifecta of College Football winners is on the Duke Blue Devils Baylor playing Matt Rhule football with Art Briles kids and the combo hasn't worked in the least as the Bears unveil a new quarterback and eight other brand new starters including two offensive linemen. Duke has been almost flawless in blowing out two including what was supposed to be a pretty good Northwestern team last week. The Blue Devils are well coached and not having to deal with the injuries that cost them their season last year. Duke by 28. |
09-16-17 | Oklahoma State -13 v. Pittsburgh | 59-21 | Win | 100 | 124 h 41 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Trifecta of College Football winners is on Oklahoma State Pitt left it all on the field last week vs. rival Penn State holding the high octane Nits to just 312 yards of total offense. Oklahoma State has so many weapons posting 50 against two lesser class opponents but will be rad and sharp here knowing that this is the back end of a home-and-home with Pitt taking the Cowboys (-3 1/2, 45-38) to the limit in a game decided in the final 1:38. Gundy will want sharp effort here with TCU Big 12 opener on deck. |
09-15-17 | Illinois +17.5 v. South Florida | 23-47 | Loss | -110 | 45 h 8 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday Night College Football Bluechip is on the Illinois Fighting Illini Charlie Stong inherited a team that might very well run the table and crashes the playoff party. The Bulls have been slow out of the gate in their first two games and hardly looked ready to play in either. Don't disregard the job the Illinois defense did last week in shutting down an explosive Western Kentucky team is a 20-7 win. The Illini also run the football well on offense which will shorten the game and keep things close throughout if the Lovie defense can find a way to bottle up USF quarterback Flowers. Too many points. |
09-14-17 | Texans v. Bengals UNDER 38 | 13-9 | Win | 100 | 22 h 13 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday Night Thunder is on the Texans/Bengals Under The Bengals defense wasn't the problem in its 20-0 loss to Baltimore. It was the bad Andy Dalton who threw four picks and getting absolutely nothing going on offense that killed Cincinnati is a game where they were shut out for the first time is 16 years. Houston has several key players in concussion protocol and has already announced that it will start rookie Deshaun Watson behind an offensive line that allowed 10 sacks in the Texans home opener. We're going to see lots of ground and pound here as each team will try to avoid turning the ball over. Expect a lower scoring game here that goes under the total. |
09-13-17 | Mariners v. Rangers UNDER 11 | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allen's America League Top Total is on the Mariners/Rangers Under Mike Leake has been very good since coming over from St Louis and is off two quality starts where he allowed just four earned runs and 14 hits in 13 inning work with a 1/12 BB/K ratio. The Under is 8-3 is 11 road starts this year. Martin Perez is off three straight quality starts against the Yankees, Angels, and Astros, three pretty good lineups. Seattle 6-2 to the Under L8 and we'll play Under this generous 11 tonight. |
09-12-17 | Marlins v. Phillies UNDER 9 | 8-9 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NL Total of the Week is on the Marlins/Phils Under Dillion Peters has been great in his two starts for the Fish and all he has to show for it is a loss and a razor sharp 2.25 ERA as Miami continues it's September free fall. Nick Pivetta is a hit or miss type that just faced the Marlins and Peters on the 1st and got a no decision in a 2-1 Phillies win. In that game, Pivetta gave up just four hits in better than six innings of work. looking for another low scoring game this time around. Play the Under. |
09-11-17 | Pirates v. Brewers -157 | 7-0 | Loss | -157 | 12 h 42 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Milwaukee Brewers The Pirates 4-9 L13 losing five straight and have pretty much mailed it in at this point. Steven Brault is a call up that was up in September last years. He gave up three earned in five innings of a 4-3 win over the Cubs in his only start in 2017 and does not appear able to go more than five innings. Milwaukee is kicking scratching and clawing to get a wild card or run down the Cubs, and while that horse might me out of the barn, the Brew Crew hasn't quit. Brandon Woodruff has been great in his four starts (.208 ERA) and in last even went deep into the game giving up one run on two hits in seven innings in a game the bullpen vultured in a 3-2 loss to Scherzer and the Nats. Not much to face here so we'll lay 60 cents with Milwaukee. |
09-11-17 | Saints +3 v. Vikings | 19-29 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 18 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saints/Vikes Monday Night Master Play is on the New Orleans Saints New Orleans could be the surprise team in the NFC this year. Adrian Peterson joins Mark Ingram in the Saints back field and a consistent running game will help Drew Brees immensely. The Saints defense was light years better in the preseason than it has been in the recent past. The Vikes are an enigma at this point coming off a disastrous second half last year and an awful preseason. Dalvin Cook is able and we'll see if he can step in for Purple Jesus. Sam Bradford has better wide outs but it's highly doubtful if he can repeat last year's 71% completion rate and high QBR. Saints straight up.  |
09-10-17 | Giants v. Cowboys -4 | 3-19 | Win | 100 | 67 h 53 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Giants/Cowboys SNF Bail out is on the Dallas Cowboys A major part of our handicapping revolves around edges in the trenches where it counts and in this one, it's all Dallas. As good as the Giants defense in, the Cowboy offensive line is still the best in football while the Dallas defensive line should terrorize Eli who has no running game behind a bottom five offensive line in the league. Dak and Zeke have big days to avenge two close losses last year as a run of five straight Giant covers comes to an end. |
09-10-17 | Orioles v. Indians OVER 9 | 2-3 | Loss | -125 | 16 h 3 m | Show
Jeff Allen ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Total of the Year is on the Orioles/Tribe Over The Indians have won a franchise record 17 straight games and outscoring the opposition by 88 runs over those games. The Tribe is hitting a robust .314 and scoring 7.3 rpg. over L7 but just don't trust Bauer who has never beaten the Birds in four LT starts where he rocks a 6.75 ERA. Baltimore's Jeremy Hellickson has been hit hard in his L3 as his 7.73 ERA would attest. Thinking we're going to see some offense tonight. Play the Over. |
09-10-17 | Seahawks v. Packers -3 | 9-17 | Win | 100 | 63 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFC Game of the Month Winner is on the Green Bay Packers This could be an NFC playoff preview with these teams co-favorites to win the NFC in Vegas. Both have had some spread success of late in this particular spot with the Seahawks 10-3 L13 as a dog and Pete Carrol 14-1 ATS in the NFL as a dog off a loss in latest to that team. That said, Seattle is a slow starter going just 2-10 SU and 1-11 ATS in its L12 road openers. By contrast, Green Bay is 9-1 SU and 8-1-1 ATS in L10 home openers. Seattle has never done well at Lambeau and of late lost 27-17 in 2015 and 38-10 last year. In Aaron Rodgers we trust. |
09-10-17 | Raiders v. Titans -1.5 | 26-16 | Loss | -130 | 59 h 27 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFL Revenge in September is on the Tennessee Titans Nice double revenge spot for the Titans here after the Raiders won on this field 24-21 in 2015 and 17-10 last year. Tennessee was killed by three Mariota turnovers last year. The Titans are riding the momentum of a 4-1 finish last year while the Raiders, who were not sharp in the preseason, immediately come three time zones West to East to open the season. A strong running game and a clean slate by Mariota get the Titans through with a seven-point win. |
09-09-17 | Marshall v. NC State -24.5 | 20-37 | Loss | -110 | 74 h 8 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NCAAF 5-Touchdown Burial is on the North Carolina State Wolfpack N.C. State did a lot of things well to not come away with a win in its opener vs. South Carolina. The Wolf Pack outgained the Gamecocks by 250 yards holding USC to just 31 yards on the ground. Marshall escaped Miami, Oh but did so on the legs of two kickoff return touchdowns and a long pick six. Not much else from the Herd who is up against it vs. a coach on the hot seat in his home opener and with Furman on deck. NC State 45-10. |
09-09-17 | Nebraska v. Oregon -14 | 35-42 | Loss | -105 | 73 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday Big Name Big Time Blowout winner is on the Oregon Ducks Nebraska looks shaky again on defense and that is not a good thing vs. Oregon. The Black Shirts were on the field for 89 plays vs. Arkansas State and the Red Wolves had a shot at the end zone from the 11-yard line to win the game. Oregon throttled Southern Utah like they were supposed to but gave up ground and eventually points to the T-Birds. In the end, Nebraska just doesn't have the fire power to trade points with the Quack Attack. Oregon 51-28. |
09-08-17 | Padres v. Diamondbacks -1.5 | 10-6 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 37 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Run-Line Game of the Month is on the Arizona DBacks The Snakes are on a 13-game win streak, a franchise record, and while they won't challenge the Dodgers in the West, they're are close to locking in home field in the all important wild card game. Patrick Corbin has been lights out with a 0.89 ERA and a beast at home all year with a nasty 8-3 2.63 badge in 14 starts at The Bob. Arizona is 9-4 in the series this year, 6-1 here and faces a Padre youngster making his first road start. Run-line mitigates loss while taking us down to almost even money with a white hot team that is also averaging 6.7 rpg. over its L7 games. |
09-07-17 | Chiefs v. Patriots UNDER 48.5 | 42-27 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 35 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFL Chiefs/Pats NFL Season Kickoff is on the Chiefs/Pats Under The loss of Edelman is not insignificant but in the Patriot scheme of things, it has always been next man up. Pats have four solid backs and a healthy Gronk to block and that will prove key here as the Pats break down a fierce Chief front seven. KC more affected by the loss of running back Spencer Ware which will have Alex Smith dinking and dunking with New England LB's picking up the pieces. Expect long possessions by both teams that don't necessarily end in points. Play the Under. |
09-06-17 | Texas Rangers - Game #2 -102 v. Atlanta Braves - Game #2 | 4-5 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Interleague Game of the Month is on the Texas Rangers Cole Hamels has been hurt most of the year but has still managed to put together a decent 2017 at 9-2 with a 3.92 ERA that has been skewed by B2B bad starts. Texas has dominated in IL play this year at 13-5 and they have to feel good about their chances facing a Braves that is just 3-8 over it's L11 games. Julio Tehran is the one piece the Braves have hung on to but he's had a tough time in his new park going 2-9 with a 6.54 ERA. Both teams are just playing out the string but the Rangers can still benefit by taking a strong finish into next year. |
09-05-17 | Twins +126 v. Rays | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Dog Bite is on the Minnesota Twins You gotta love Bartolo Colon. He got off to a rotten start this year for the Braves but since getting picked up by the Twins, he's been money and a big reason why that Minnesota is hanging around in the wild card race. The big man is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA in his L3. The ERA isn't great but this guy just eats innings and at 40+ and 300+, he's a good guy in the stretch run as it gets cooler. Good tech spot for Minneosta also, 13-7 this year as a road dog of 25-50 cents. |
09-04-17 | Rangers v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | Top | 8-2 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 7 m | Show |
Jeff Allen's MLB Holiday Personal Best is on the Rangers/Braves Under Strangely enough, if you asked who the best pitcher was on the Texas Rangers this year you would probably have to say Andrew Cashner. He's 8-9 on the year with a 3.30 ERA so deserves better in the win column. His road starts 6-4 to the Under and the Low is 16-6 in all starts. R.A. Dickey is still getting that knuckleball up there and eating innings. He's only faced the Rangers five times in his career but three of those are in the last two years and he's allowed just two earned runs in 19 innings of work. Runs figure to be tough to come by here. Play the Under. |
09-03-17 | Red Sox v. Yankees +116 | 2-9 | Win | 116 | 11 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night Espn Baseball Bail Out is on the New York Yankees Chris Sale has been a monster until his last three starts. He's off seven shut out innings vs. Toronto in last but he was lit up by these same Yankees just two back on August 18th. Yankee counterpart, Luis Severino has been money his last three with a 1.83 ERA and a whopping 26 Ks in his L19 2/3 innings of work. Bombers win key series with a win here and put them firmly striking distance heading into the final four weeks. |
09-03-17 | Texas A&M v. UCLA -3.5 | 44-45 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 15 m | Show
Jeff Allen's A&M/UCLA Vegas Strip Blue Chip is on the UCLA Bruins This is a hugely important game for both programs as both coaches are firmly on the hot seat. UCLA was decimated by injuries last year, including QB Josh Rosen who has gotten big time NFL play since arriving on campus. The kid is supremely talented and needs to show it in a big time national TV spot like we find him tonight. Nine returning offensive starters which includes an offensive line with a combined 86 starts is the difference here. Take UCLA. |
09-02-17 | Georgia Southern v. Auburn -33.5 | 7-41 | Win | 100 | 97 h 28 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NCAAF Week One Bully Beat Down is on the Auburn Tigers Auburn is loaded, especially on offense where transfer QB from Baylor has earned the job and can hurt you both ways. He also has two explosive 1000 yard backs. Tiger defense is experienced and flies to the ball. Georgia Southern starts freshman QB in this flexbone and the heat equals turnovers and short fields for the hosts. War Eagle drops a 5-0 fifty bomb on their Sunbelt opponents today. 52-7. |
09-02-17 | Phillies v. Marlins -126 | 9-10 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday MLB Play of the Day is on the Miami Marlins The Fish have now lost four straight and have not won a game since the last time Dan Strailey took the mound, a 6-2 win over San Diego. Strailey is off three straight quality start and just beat the Phils and Nola on 8/22. Aaron Nola has been the best of Phillie's kids but he's started against Miami twice in 2017 and given up 11 earned run on 14 hits in 9 2/3 innings. Marlins seem to have his number and get healthy here. |
09-02-17 | Kentucky -10 v. Southern Miss | 24-17 | Loss | -104 | 94 h 59 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday College Blue Chip is on the Kentucky Wildcats Huge revenge spot for the Cats who led this game last year 35-10 before giving up 34 unanswered points in their season opening loss to Southern Miss. UK rebounded to have a good year and bowl bid. Big things are expected this year in the Blue Grass as Stoops returns a lot of starters that will all no doubt remember last year. |
09-01-17 | Utah State v. Wisconsin -27 | 10-59 | Win | 100 | 75 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday NCAAF Triple Best Bet is on the Wisconsin Badgers Utah State gave up better than 29 ppg. last year and the stop unit was hit hard by graduation among the key contributors. Wisky has a has a new quarterback but all he'll have to do is handoff to a stub back running behind the best OL of the Paul Chryst era. Badger defense is on par of last year and Camp Randall is as tough a venue for visitors as it gets. Wisconsin rolls. |
09-01-17 | Blue Jays v. Orioles -162 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Game of the Week is on the Baltimore Orioles The Jays played themselves out of any type of playoff home by going 2-10 L12 while the raging Orioles are 8-1 L9. The Jays Joe Biagini has been getting hammered of late and owns a 9.43 ERA L3 while allowing 33 baserunners in 14 2/3 innings of work. Kevin Gausman is starting to find his groove and is off 7 2/3 shutout innings of the BoSox. The Orioles are not done yet. |
08-31-17 | Ravens +3 v. Saints | 14-13 | Win | 100 | 75 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFLX Game of the Year is on the Baltimore Ravens If you want to look at coaches who don't try in the final week of preseason, you would probably look first to Sean Payton who is 1-10 SU in Week Four. The Saint defense has inexplicably only given up seven points over the last eight quarters so look for Payton (who knows what he has at this point) to go very vanilla and just look to get out of Dodge with no injuries and start preparing for opening roadie at Minnesota. Baltimore's defense and reserves have played well the entire preseason. Harbaugh still has work to do and will look to get a win here if he can. Ravens straight up. |
08-31-17 | Ravens v. Saints UNDER 37 | 14-13 | Win | 100 | 75 h 60 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Best Bet is on the Ravens/Saints Under Analysis to follow |
08-31-17 | Ohio State -20.5 v. Indiana | 49-21 | Win | 100 | 50 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday College Football Double Best Bet is on Ohio State The Buckeyes have won 21 straight in the series but the Hoosiers have covered the last six. The man responsible for that potent Hoosier offense is now the Buckeye OC and is very familiar with the Indiana defensive personnel. The Buckeyes have won and covered five straight road openers and the defense is almost of the same quality of the 2015 outfit. The Buckeyes roll. |
08-31-17 | Steelers v. Panthers UNDER 38 | 17-14 | Win | 100 | 75 h 32 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Best Bet is on the Steelers/Panthers Under The Panthers will be just as happy to fine tune the defense and running game here. Landry Jones will likely go most of the way for the Steelers and if that doesn't say not many points, not sure what does. 16-13, it doesn't matter. Play the Under. |
08-31-17 | Redskins v. Bucs UNDER 36.5 | 13-10 | Win | 100 | 75 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Best Bet is on the Skins/Bucs Under Analysis to follow |
08-31-17 | Eagles v. Jets UNDER 36 | 10-16 | Win | 100 | 74 h 14 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Best Bet is on the Eagles/Jets Under There is a good chance that Christian Hackenberg will go the whole way in this one as Bryce Petty apparently has knee issues. These teams played in this Week 4 finale last year won by Philly 14-6 with Hackenberg 11-31 on the night. Enough said. |
08-31-17 | Bengals v. Colts UNDER 36.5 | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 74 h 13 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Best Bet is on the Colts/Bengals Under There should be a whole lot of nothing in this game as both teams stagger to Week One. Might be interested in the Bengals her with Dalton/McCarron but it's going to be a whole lot of Jeff Driskell. Colt defense, starters and reserves are not much but this same Week IV game ended 13-10 last year and we expect similar here. |
08-29-17 | White Sox v. Twins -1.5 | 4-6 | Win | 105 | 10 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Run-Line Game of the Month is on the Minnesota Twins The White Sox are playing out the string and James Shields is a spent bullet with a 5.00 ERA that can give you enough innings to make it worth wild to keep him in the rotation. Ervin Santana has been super all year 13-7 (3.24) and has good career numbers against the Pale Hose. In April he pitched a complete game one-hitter from this mound. This is a five-day pitching rematch from 8/23 where Santana pitched seven innings (giving up one run) and left with the lead only to see his win given away by the pen. Betting the loser in the second game of a five-day rematch has been a successful play in the blind for almost 40 years. Minnesota on the run line. |

08-28-17 | Braves v. Phillies -150 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Philadelphia Phillies The Phillies have dominated the Braves in Philadelphia and Aaron Nola has dominated the Bravos in his short time in the majors. The Phillies are 11-2 against the Braves this year and 7-0 on this field. Nola is 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA in his six LT starts vs. the Braves and while he did the majority of that damage last year, in the on;y time he's faced Atlanta this year, he pitched eight innings of the one-run five-hit ball back June 6th. Yes, it's hard to lay 50 cents with a team that is 23 games under .500 but this spot is overwhelming. Lay it. |
08-27-17 | New York Mets - Game #2 v. Washington Nationals - Game #2 UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 48 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Mets/Nats ESPN Late Bail Out is on the Washington Nats The Met sell off was borderline criminal and the Nats might as well be playing AAA Las Vegas. Seth Lugo (7.31) has been hammered his last three starts and the Met pen at this point is used up and not very good, to begin with. Tanner Roark is off three straight quality starts and has had excellent LT results against the Mets (6-2. 2.35, 10 starts). Any kind of effort by Roark at this point gets it done. Please note that the play was incorrectly listed as the Under. This cannot be changed once posted. The actual play is the Washington Nats in Game II of their double-header with the Mets. (Lugo/Roark Listed Pitchers) |
08-27-17 | Bengals v. Redskins -3 | 17-23 | Win | 100 | 98 h 16 m | Show
Jeff Allen NFLX Sunday Super Best Bet on the Washington Redskins Jay Gruden has pretty much kept the Skins under wraps to this point. The Skins get a good test to see where they are at today with the Bengals. Expecting Washington to get some things done on offense like establish a run game to open things up for Cousins to throw. The NFC East is suddenly wide open and it might as well be the Skins as anyone. Marvin Lewis know what he has at this point with Dalton and McCarron and will look to get their work in without risking to many sttarters. Washington by 10. |
08-26-17 | Rice v. Stanford UNDER 51.5 | 7-62 | Loss | -110 | 35 h 55 m | Show
Jeff Allen's First NCAAF 2017 Super Total is on Rice/Stanford Under David Shaw is an excellent coach and a gentleman and has a history of not running up scores on nonconference foes. That will be especially true here vs. Rice, a fellow academic institution that does things right. Stanford is loaded this year and is the main threat to Washington in Pac-12 North. With USC on deck, expect a very vanilla game plan from The Tree with ground and pound plus a relentless pressure defense. Wouldn't be shocked if the home team pitched a shutout. Call it 34-3 Stanford. |
08-26-17 | South Florida -21.5 v. San Jose State | 42-22 | Loss | -110 | 58 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday College Football Super Best Bet is on the South Florida Bulls Charlie Strong was cut from an untenable spot in Texas and walks right into a turnkey operation at South Florida with a team with a chance to run the table. South Florida is a monster with a dual threat quarterback that has accounted for 71 touchdowns the last two years. Brennan will do some nice things in San Jose but will need some time to put things in place and upgrade his current bottom half Mountain West talent level. South Florida big. |
08-25-17 | Pirates v. Reds UNDER 9.5 | 5-9 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Total of the Month is on the Pirates/Reds Under |
08-25-17 | Patriots -2 v. Lions | 30-28 | Push | 0 | 53 h 57 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday NFLX Super Best Bet on New England Strangely enough, both teams want this game. Belichick to get off a 0-2 preseason slide. The Pats have done no game-planning until this game so we have to think the hoodie is taking this game extremely seriously. Caldwell is very happy with his troops to this point and has put it out there to lets beat the world champs. Regardless of the time played, the Brady (probably into the second quarter/Garoppolo combo will be too much for the Lions and their reserves. Most times when the Pats are looking to get something done, they get it done. Pats 30-20. |
08-24-17 | Dolphins v. Eagles -3.5 | 31-38 | Win | 100 | 29 h 0 m | Show
Jeff Allen Thursday Dress Rehearsal Super Best Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles are a young team that is still in rebuilding mode but is also a team that has shown a willingness to be patient. Like most young teams with a young and learning franchise quarterback, the Eagles have shown real home/road dichotomy playing very well at home and struggling on the road. Wentz should have a nice night against the Dolphin starters and the Philly defense should put the clamps on Cutler and Moore. The Eagle win by a touchdown to get the money on tonight's Big Ticket. |
08-23-17 | Blue Jays v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 7-6 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is on the Jays/Rays Under Marcus Stroman (11-6, 2.99) has done it for Toronto all year and is in razor sharp form now with three straight quality starts and a 1.71 ERA. He's faced the Rays three times this year and allowed just five earned on 17 hits with 22 K's in 21 1/3 innings of work. Austin Pruitt is one of Tampa Bay's good young guns and was posting pretty good number before getting roughed up by Seattle in his last. All six of his starts have gone under and the Rays are 15-4 low in August. The Jays are 8-3 under in L11 and neither team is hitting. Play the Under. |
08-22-17 | Diamondbacks -156 v. Mets | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 8 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Road Warrior is on the Arizona DBacks The Mets have mailed in the season and have sold their assets for nothing in a salary dump nothing less than criminal. New York is 1-7 L8 and send ex-Oakland A Tommy Milone to the mound with his 1-2 and 7.63 ERA numbers. It's his first appearance since May and it's easy to see why. He's allowed 26 baserunners of all kinds in his last 11 2/3 work. Snakes still in the thick of the wild card race and Patrick Corbin (1.27 L3) is working on 15 straight shut out innings. Arizona is the play. |
08-21-17 | Giants v. Browns OVER 38 | 6-10 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 9 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday Night NFLX Blue Chip is on the Giants/Browns Over Expecting a crisp effort from the Giants tonight as they were a virtual no-show in Week I. Eli and the starters are expected to go into the second quarter so we'll get a good i seeing where Big Blue is right now. Josh Johnson and Geno Smith are fighting for one spot and both get time here. Davis Webb is having a good camp and will mop up. The Browns should contribute and do their part to get us over the number. Kizer expected to get most of second half and should do business against G-Men reserves. Â |
08-21-17 | Red Sox v. Indians UNDER 9.5 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday MLB Bankroll Builder is on the BoSox/Indians Under Excellent number and very good spot. BoSox Eduardo Rodriguez off a stuff start in last 3.12 ERA in his L3 and the Under is 10-5 in his 15 starts. Mike Clevinger responded to B2B bad starts by throwing seven innings of four-hit shut out ball at the Rays in latest. He rocks a 3.37 ERA on the year and the Under is 11-4 in his starts. Both starters need just go their six quality before each turns it over to one of the top five pens in MLB. Play the Under. |
08-20-17 | Cardinals +100 v. Pirates | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
Jeff Allens' ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Bail Out is on the St Louis Cardinals The Cardinals are too far back to get into the wild card race so they are basically trying to run down the Cubs and win their division which is very doable. The Red Birds have been hot and need to keep winning their division games the rest of the way. Neither starter tonight is in very good form but Mike Leake is 2-1 vs. Pitt this year and has had a lot of long-term success against the Bucs and 10-5 with a 3.67 ERA in 31 starts. Ivan Nova had a great first half but has hit the wall in the second. Pitt snapped six-game losing streak last night but are a team that has clearly quit and playing out the string. Take the Cardinals. |
08-20-17 | Falcons -3 v. Steelers | 13-17 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 49 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Lock Parlay Front End is on the Atlanta Falcons Tomlin has a history of not caring about preseason. Big Ben is out and leaving Dobbs and Houston to split the game. Falcons starters will get some work and Schaub/Sims combo late will certainly be in a better position to score some points than the Steelers. Atlanta by 10. |
08-20-17 | Falcons v. Steelers UNDER 39 | 13-17 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Lock Parlay Back End is on the Falcons/Steelers Under These are two of the deeper defensive teams in the NFL where even the reserves are quality. Steeler reserves fully capable of locking up Schaub/Sims and Dobbs/Houston combo will be fortunate to get double-digits against a Falcon team more on point after last weeks meltdown at Miami. Play the Under. |
08-19-17 | Broncos v. 49ers -2.5 | 33-14 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 40 m | Show
Leg Three of Jeff Allen's Saturday NFLX Trifecta is on the San Francisco 49ers The Broncos were not sharp last week vs. the Bears and have a lot of work to do. Denver QBs reportedly struggling with new system so Simien for a quarter then Lynch getting extra work into the third. 49ers doing good things under their new regime and everyone is playing hard. Hoyer/Barkley and Beathard all sharp last week. New positive culture in San Fran. |
08-19-17 | Packers v. Redskins -3 | 21-17 | Loss | -125 | 10 h 2 m | Show
Leg Two of Jeff Allen's Saturday NFLX Trifecta is on the Washington Redskins Green Bay will be skating here heading ino next week's dress rehearsal. Rodgers a series and then Hundley for a quarter before mop ups. McCoy scheduled to go the entire first half which is good. Skins/Gruden historically very strong off a loss. Washington much crisper here. |
08-19-17 | Colts v. Cowboys -5.5 | 19-24 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Leg One of Jeff Allen's Saturday NFLX Trifecta is on the Dallas Cowboys With all the distractions surrounding Zeke last week and the extra week of HOF hoopla, it easy to see how the Cowboys were a no-show last week against the Rams. Back to business and a couple of series of Dak with the starters vs. Indy team just staggering it's way to Week One and hopefullya somewhat health Andrew Luck. Dallas cruises. |
08-19-17 | Cardinals -116 v. Pirates | 4-6 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 6 m | Show
Jeff Allen's MLB Matinee Mauler is on the St Louis Cardinals The Cardinals got right back on track after losing two of three to the BoSox and are right back in the playoff hunt. Wacha is not the type of pitcher that blows you away but more often than not gives you a chance to win. He's 5-2 LT vs. the Pirates with a 3.76 ERA and beat Gerrit Cole 2-1 the only time he's faced Pitt in 2017. The Pirates have quit and are simply playing out the string. |
08-18-17 | Vikings v. Seahawks -3.5 | 13-20 | Win | 100 | 12 h 37 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Friday NFLX Blue Chip is on the Seattle Seahawks These are the two best ATS coaches in the preseason with both Pete Carroll and Mike Zimmer historically taking August very seriously. Bradford and Wilson are both expected to play the first quarter. It's in the second half where the Hawks having Boykin playing the middle half with Davis mopping up where we have a huge edge over Keenum and Heinkle. Both defenses are very good and very deep but at home in front of the 12th man, like Seattle to just make more plays. Seattle 23-10. |
08-18-17 | Yankees v. Red Sox UNDER 9 | 6-9 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 10 m | Show
Jeff Allen's TGIF MLB PlatinumTotal is on the Yankees/BoSox Under These teams are very familiar with each other and there will be no surprises here. Both pitchers are in good form and each has had some success this year vs. the opposing side. Jordan Montgomery has been on three straight unders and threw 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the BoSox on ESPN last Sunday in the 3-2 loss to Chris Sale. Drew Pomeranz is the Red Sox ace at this point and is rocking a .229 ERA in his L3 starts. The Under is 5-1 in the six series games at Fenway this year and we'll look for that trend to continue here. |
08-17-17 | Nationals v. Padres -108 | 2-1 | Loss | -108 | 12 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Under-The-Radar MLB Special is on the San Diego Padres Don't look now but Jhoulys Chacin is 7-2 with a 1.86 ERA in 12 starts at Petco Park. At the beginning of the year, the Friars were considered the worst team in baseball and many pegged them on 100+ losses. San Diego is not good by any means but they play hard and are even a couple (32-27) of games above .500 at home. Edwin Jackson was reclaimed from MLB obscurity as an arm but has put together a couple of good outings after a rocky start. He hasn't faced SD since 2014 but is 0-6 LT with a 6.98 ERA in 10 career starts, granted none of them recent. In the end, like the fiestyPadres and their "ace" in a good spot as an exhausted and banged up Nat unit can't wait to get home. Take San Diego. |
08-17-17 | Bills v. Eagles UNDER 39 | 16-20 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show
The Back End of Jeff Allen's NFLX Lock Parlay is on the Under Pedersen will play Wentz at least a quarter and allow him to run the offense. Like most rookies, Wentz did he best work at home last year and and should be very comfortable with the starters here. McCloin will probably go the rest of the way with a vanilla game plan and with a mission to not turn the ball over. Buffalo is still getting familiar with new faces and did nothing offensively against the Vikings. Looking at two teams needing to look at players and get some work in which figures to equate to a second half played between the 20s and keeping the total low. |
08-17-17 | Bills v. Eagles -4.5 | 16-20 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 20 m | Show
The Front End of Jeff Allen's NFLX Lock Parlay is on the Eagles Philly couldn't get much going in its opener at Green Bay but should be much better here at home. Favorable QB matchup has Wentz playing at least a full quarter and then Matt McCloin likely to go the rest of the ways as Foles sits with an injury. The Bills got nowhere against the Vikes in their home opener and at this point Buffalo likely to stay very basic with many new faces on both sides of the ball. Philly by a touchdown. |
08-16-17 | Royals -128 v. A's | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Travel Day Matinee Mauler is on the Kansas City Royals Danny Duffy was not all that impressive in his last two starts but he's owned the A's in his brief opportunities over his career going 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA in five starts. The Kansas City lineup is really mashing at the moment hitting .306 and scoring better than six runs a game over the last week. The A's Paul Blackburn (3-1, 3.02) has been good overall but very average in his last three, two of which he allowed five runs. A's staff as a whole allowing opposing batter to hit .300 the last week while averaging 6.4 runs-per-game. A quality start by Duffy gets it done. |
08-15-17 | Giants -109 v. Marlins | 9-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Platinum is on the San Francisco Giants Mad Bum is back from his "accident" like he hasn't missed a beat. In his last three starts, he's a rocking a 1.29 ERA allowing just 15 hits in 21 innings with a 4/21 BB/K ratio. He lost two of those games 3-2 and 2-1 and won 3-1 so he hasn't got a whole lot of run support. Daniel Strailey has lost three straight despite three straight quality starts where he hasn't allowed more than two runs in 6+ innings of work. The Fish do not do well against lefties and also do not do well in prosperity going just 3-8 off three or more straight wins. Mad Bum gets one here. |
08-14-17 | Tigers v. Rangers UNDER 10.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 18 h 4 m | Show
Jeff Allen's AL Total of the Week is on the Tigers/Rangers Over Tonight's total is a huge 10.5 but with good reason as both teams have mailed in their seasons and both the starters have been awful for an extended time. Motown's Mike Fulmer was pitching well to the break but he's been hammered in L3 allowing 14 earned in 16 2/3 of work. Martin Perez has been even worse in allowing 15 earned in 16 2/3 innings and also has an LT ERA of 5.40 in three LT starts vs. Detroit. This one has batting practice wriiten all over it, play the Over. |
08-13-17 | Red Sox v. Yankees OVER 8 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's BoSox/Yankees Sunday ESPN Super Lock is on the BoSox/Yankees Over One's first inclination when you looking at a Chris Sale game is to look at the Over. Not here. Despite being a Yankee killer most of his life, Sale was pounded at Cleveland and the Bombers have already seen him twice this year already so they should know what to expect. Jordan Montgomery is what he is and that is to give you five innings max with an ERA of around 4.00 or more. He was spanked by the BoSox on the 4th of July in his only LT appearance facing Beantown. Montgomery could give up all eight himself but we think the Bronx could do some damage as well against. Not interested in laying big numer or grabbing. Play the Over |
08-13-17 | Seahawks +2.5 v. Chargers | 48-17 | Win | 100 | 9 h 24 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Seahawks/Chargers Late Show Bail Out is on the Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll takes preseason very seriously. In fact, depending on the number that you use he's 28-17 SU and 27-15-3 ATS over the years. The Seahawks pretty much know what they have and there are not a lot of jobs up for grabs so it will be a question of execution and game prep in the opener. The Chargers have installed new schemes on both sides of the ball with the defense now a 4-3 and offense somewhat more run oriented. Seattle should have a major advantage with Trevone Boykin and Austin Davis both season in preseason play and both able to move the ball. Calling for Seattle to end Week I of NFLX action winning straight up. |
08-12-17 | Cowboys v. Rams UNDER 37.5 | 10-13 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday NFLX Platinum Total is on the Cowboys/Rams Under It's been a tumultuous week for the Cowboys with the Zeke suspension adding to the Pokes first-month suspension and injury woes. Jason Garrett and the Cowboys have shown little interest in the preseason in prior years and have gotten a win at the HOF game, expect Dallas to look to avoid injuries and use a very vanilla game plan that will get them get out of Dodge without anyone important getting hurt. The Ram offense is a work in progress and the thinking is to get Goff comfortable with the basic stuff. Wade Phillips was a tremendous hire as DC and will have the L.A. defense back to where it was three years ago. Getting work in and looking at people will be the priority here and don't expect to see a lot of points. Play the Under. |
08-12-17 | Titans v. Jets UNDER 37 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFLX Free Play for Saturday is on the Titans/Jets Under Reports out of both camps reporting very vanilla game plans. Tennessee will look to get some work for Mariota and Cassel and both are coming off surgery. The Jets will be trying to find a quarterback that can move the ball somewhat without turning it over. Very little offensive talent available for the Flyboys today and there are even shops offering a prop on the Jets for 140 points on the season. Ground and pound and lots of play between the 20s mean not a lot of points. Today and every day are the time to get a Jeff Allen subscription. Allen bases 24-13 L37 and his low volume/high winning percentage approach is a proven winner over three decades. Don't miss a play! Jeff Allen is a 30-year industry icon and was the No.2 overall football handicapper on the network for 2016. Allen is prepped and ready to go and both college and NFL season packages are available now at a discounted rate. Don't miss a single play in any sport! |
08-12-17 | Titans -3 v. Jets | 3-7 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday NFLX Dominator is on the Tennessee Titans The Jets are almost a fade in the blind at this point until someone in camp proves that they can step in and play quarterback. Petty and Hackenberg have not shown anything and have had weak camps to boot. McCown is serviceable but is 2-20 in his L22 NFL starts. The Titans are here to win and have had a very business oriented to camp this year. Mariots will see some action, a series or two. Matt Cassel is off thumb surgery but is a 13 year vet that just needs work. Alex Tanney has been effective when given the chance and should have a lot of success vs. Flyboy reserves. Tennessee by 10. |
08-12-17 | Indians +126 v. Rays | 3-0 | Win | 126 | 15 h 1 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday Night MLB Dog Bite is on the Cleveland Indians This play is strictly a fade of Tampa Bay's Chris Archer who is 0-6 LT vs. the Tribe while sporting a 6.00 ERA in those six starts. Mike Clevinger is not much but he's never faced the Rays which is a good thing in that he should have the advantage the first 2-3 times through the lineup. Add to the equation that Cleveland is 6-2 L8 at the Trop and we figure to be much the best. |
08-11-17 | Reds v. Brewers -1.5 | 11-10 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 21 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Run-Line Game of the Week winner is the Milwaukee Brewers We've faded Homer Bailey with great success this year. The former No.1 draft pick has been terrible this year (9.39 ERA L3) but the Reds prefer to send him to the mound every five days rather than eat his salary. Jimmy Nelson has been rock solid (2.14 ERA L3) despite that noot translating into many wins but the Brewers have done nothing since the All-Star Break as a whole. Excellent spot for the Brewer bats to get going and to get this good young talent a win in a big way. Run-line. |
08-11-17 | Steelers v. Giants UNDER 37 | 20-12 | Win | 100 | 9 h 56 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFLX Week I Top Total is on the Giants and Steelers Under Neither coach is much on the preseason as each is in the fortunate position of pretty much knowing what they have and with most starting jobs already determined. No Eli or Ben tonight. Pittsburgh would love to replace Landry Jones so tonight will feature a healthy dose of Josh Dobbs with Bart Houston in the mop up. Geno will go most of the first half for the Giants with lots of Davis Webb and Josh Johnson late. Both game plans are said to be very vanilla with both teams looking to establish a run game. Under is the standout play here. |
08-10-17 | Broncos -1 v. Bears | 24-17 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Back End of the Lock Parlay Play is on the Denver Broncos The Bear's John Fox was a go to go in preseason earlier in his career and in better times. Chicago will look to see a lot of players today including its quarterbacks who will all be playing their first respective game under this new scheme. Word out of Denver is that Trevor Simien and Paxton Lynch have both struggled to grasp Mike McCoys's (former Charger coach and now Bronc OC). The starter could be determined in this first game so both will be looking to state their cases. The Bronco defense is still there best asset and Denver won't need a lot of points to get out of Dodge with a win here. |
08-10-17 | Mets -141 v. Phillies | 10-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Thursday Night MLB Road Warrior is on the New York Mets Jacob deGrom has been the only bright light in an awful Met season going 12-5 with a 3.36 ERA. His last two starts have been OK ending a run of 10 starts where he was lights out. This is a perfect spot to get healthy tonight as the former Stetson All-American shortstop is 5-0 LT vs. the Phils and his team 9-0 in nine LT starts against Philly. Mets started salary dump last night with Jay Bruce so this good time before the shelves are picked bare. |
08-10-17 | Falcons -1 v. Dolphins | 20-23 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 37 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Front End of the Lock Parlay Play is on the Atlanta Falcons The Dirty Birds are very deep and very talented so there is not a huge drop off in play after the starters are done. Quinn is out of the Pete Carroll coaching tree so you know he wants to win if he can. Schaub and Matt Simms should both be effective against the Dolphin reserves. Good spot for Atlanta to get the bad taste of the Super Bowl meltdown out of their mouths against a team that is scrambling in all respects after the Taneyhill injury. |
08-09-17 | Phillies v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Wednesday MLB Slumpbuster is on the Phillies/Braves Under Both pitchers are in excellent form with three straight quality starts. Jared Eickhoff is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and tons of potential if he would cut back on his walks. Sean Newcomb is another good young gun who has trouble finding the plate at times but is extremely effective when he does. This is a 10-day pitching rematch of a July 29 game won by Philly 4-3. In that game, both pitchers allowed just one earned run in five innings of work but couldn't go far due to pitch count. This number is crazy high offering value as well. |
08-09-17 | Texans +1 v. Panthers | 17-27 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFLX Week One Dominator is on the Houston Texans The motivation is all with the Houston Texans and that is reflective of the line move that started at Carolina -3 and is now Houston -1 in some shops. The Texans are very talented and very deep but there are still a lot of jobs to be decided in camp. Bill O'Brien is a no-nonsense guy that demands effort start to finish which is big in the second half with reserves. Rivera will give starters a taste but not much. Cam is out with a shoulder issue leaving the Texans with big edge in quarterback play. Houston 20-13. |
08-07-17 | Brewers v. Twins UNDER 9 | 4-5 | Push | 0 | 20 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's IL Total of the Week is on the Brewers/Twins Under Both teams are playing for wildcards and to their credit, neither has mailed in the season. Brent Suter is 2-2 with a 2.92 ERA in six starts with the Under 5-1 in those starts. Ervin Santana has been rock solid all year at 12-7 with a 3.28 ERA in 22 starts. The innings might be catching up to this workhorse but the Brewers are hitting just .203 L7 and Santana is coming off a complete game 5-2 win over the Padres. The Under is 14-7 in his starts. Play the Under here. |

08-06-17 | Dodgers v. Mets UNDER 9 | 8-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday Night ESPN Blue Chip is on the Dodgers/Mets Under As much as we'd like to take a home team that is +50 cents to avoid a series sweep and facing the visitor's weakest link (Ryu 3-6, 4.02), just not interested is standing in front of the 43-7 L50 Dodger Express at the moment. RYU has pitched well of late and is off three straight quality starts including seven scoreless five-hit innings vs. the Giants in his last. Matz has been awful to be sure bit two of his last three starts have been quality and his numbers skewed by a terrible outing two back in San Diego. This is a pitching matchup from 6/22 that the Dodgers won 6-3 but was 3-3 late. Looking for sharp efforts from both starters here and keeping our fingers crossed that the Mets pen has one of it's better days. Play the Under. |

08-05-17 | Diamondbacks -124 v. Giants | 4-5 | Loss | -124 | 11 h 60 m | Show
Jeff Allen's DBacks/Giants Late Show Bail Out is on the Arizona DBacks The Snakes have won three straight and heating up for a late playoff run. Tijuan Walker has done his best work on the road where he takes a sweet 2.95 ERA in nine starts to tonight's Giants lineup. Walker has pitched well vs. San Francisco in limited opportunities and the DBacks have had a lot of success on this field going 15-8 over the last three years. Nice spot and nice price on Arizona. |
08-04-17 | Rangers v. Twins UNDER 10.5 | 4-8 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 29 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Month is on the Rangers/Twins Under Martin Perez does not have any wins against the Twins in limited tries but he has pitched well and faces a Twins team tonight hitting just .217 over its L7 games. Bartolo Colon has had a nightmare season for the Braves/Twins but is off back-to-back quality starts. Texas is 5-2 Under L7 and the Twinkies are on three straight unders themselves. Even if Bartolo gets shelled, Minnesota should be able to stop the bleeding before this gets anywhere near the generous 10 1/2. |
08-03-17 | Cowboys v. Cardinals UNDER 35 | 20-18 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 57 m | Show
Jeff Allen's NFLX Hall of Fame Game First Taste is on the Cards/Cowboys Under Both teams have announced that none of their respective starters will see action in this game. That pretty much means that we'll have Blaine Gabbert and Trevor Knight vs. Kellen Moore and Luke McCown. Expect a very vanilla game with lots of attention being paid to the run game which will allow coaches to see more players and run more clock, shortening the game. The HOF Game is traditionally low scoring with just one of the last five exceeding this year's already low number of 35. Under is the play. |
08-02-17 | Mets +128 v. Rockies | 10-5 | Win | 128 | 8 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the Colorado Rockies The Mets are bringing up their kids and throwing them straight into the fire. Chris Flexen was brought straight up the big club out of AA and the Padres lit him up like a Christmas tree. In fact, Flexen hadn't given up a homer in AA but saw his second pitch in the bigs sent for a ride the left field seats. Tyler Chatwood was lit by the Mets on the 15th in a 9-3 loss but has had two weeks to get straightened out and his prior history against the Mets was excellent. Now or never for the Rockies. * PLEASE NOTE --- This play was inadvertantly posted as the Mets and cannot be changed .... the actual play is on the Colorado Rockies. We apologize for the error. |
08-01-17 | Giants v. A's -118 | 10-4 | Loss | -118 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Tuesday MLB Home Cooking winner is on the Oakland A's The Giants nightmare season continues and the Gints are just 14-32 vs. losing records to boot and send Jeff Samardzija to the mound with his 5-11 mark with 4.85 ERA that is 6.75 over his L3 starts. The A's have won three straight and send their "ace" to the mound here in Sean Manea who shut the Giants out for six innings last year in a 7-1 win last June, the only time he faces San Francisco. Right back. |
07-31-17 | Braves -105 v. Phillies | 6-7 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Monday Matinee Mauler is on the Atlanta Braves There are several reasons we like the Braves here despite losing the first three games of the series. First is starter Mike Foltynewicz who has been solid all year with his 9-5 (3.83 ERA) season numbers which include seven innings of four-hit shut out ball in a 14-1 win over the Phillies back on June 7th. Betting teams to avert a series sweep has been a solid play in the blind all season long and nobody better to get the Braves off the shneid than Mike Foltnewicz. |
07-30-17 | Giants v. Dodgers UNDER 8.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Jeff Allen's ESPN Game of the Month is on the Giants/Dodgers Under Note the pitching change to MadBum who hasn't pitched badly since coming back after his quad accident. Also, note that the Dodgers are on an unconscious 38-6 including several improbable come from behind wins. Regardless of where these teams are in the standings, this is one of the top rivalries in baseball. The series is 6-6 this year and though the Giants are 33 games behind the Dodgers in the West, there is nothing they would like to do more than beat the Blue's head in, especially at Chave Ravine. Pass the side and play the Under as MadBum can stretch it out at this point and the Bums have the best pen in the bigs. ESPN games are generally played quickly like travel days so this one should fly ... Under the total. |
07-29-17 | Pirates -110 v. Padres | 2-4 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 27 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Late Show Bailout is on the Pittsburgh Pirates (Nova Listed) Ivan Nova has been solid all year. His recent numbers are greatly skewed after getting rocked at Colorado in his last outing but his 10-7 (3.62) badge is a much better representation of what we get. Dinelson Lamet does nit help his cause for the Friars as he's walked 20 in 51 innings or about four per nine innings. Pirates hitting .279 and averaging 5 per in last seven. Any effort from Nova here gets it done. |
07-28-17 | Orioles v. Rangers -128 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 17 h 11 m | Show
Jeff Allen Friday MLB American League Blue Chip is on the Texas Rangers The Orioles mailed it in long ago and are simply playing out the string with the worst starting pitching in baseball. Chris Tillman is 1-5 with a 7.01 ERA in his 2017 starts and sports a 12+ ERA on the road. Andrew Cashner is off three straight quality starts and has revenge angle having lost 3-1 to the O's and Tillman just 10 days ago. The Rangers are 6-1 L7 of the series at home and desperately need wins to hang in the AL wild card race. Texas! |
07-27-17 | Cubs -1.5 v. White Sox | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 55 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Getaway Day Run-Line Special is on the Cubs The Cubs are 9-2 over their L11, six games above .500 for the first time this year, and have finally reclaimed first place in the NL Central. The Blue Bears are in this spot thank to starting pitching which is 9-0 with a 2.48 ERA over their current run and while the offense isn't exactly mashing, its plating enough runs tio get the job done. The WSox have lost three straight Mike Pelfrey starts where he has gone five innings (exactly) just once. Cubs roll. |
07-26-17 | Reds v. Yankees -1.5 | 5-9 | Win | 100 | 14 h 33 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Run-Line Game of the Month is on the New York Yankees The Reds continue to send Homer Bailey (2-4, 8.56) to the mound because they pay him a ton of money and nobody will take him off their hands. He's a spent shell that the Bronx Bombers figure to tattoo pretty good. Luis Severino is the best of the new crop of Yankee arms and is rocking a 1.71 ERA over his last three starts going at least seven innings in each start. He should have it all his own way today against a Reds team that is 2-9 L11 and hitting just .236 over their last seven. |
07-25-17 | Royals v. Tigers UNDER 8.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Jeff Allen's American League Total of the Week is on the Royals/Tigers Under This is one of our favorite spots, two pretty good pitchers coming off bad outing who had been in razor sharp form prior. Better yet, both bad outing was against each other just five days ago in a 16-4 Royals win at Detroit. On face, it looks like Fulmer was rocked in that game but the truth is that the Tigers committed three errors behind him and NOTHING was hit hard with every little bleeder seemingly finding paydirt, one flare after the other. The numbers are skewed so unimportant here. Danny Duffy 9-5 to the Under in his 2017 starts, KC 8-4 to the Under L12. The Under gets the money. |
07-24-17 | Mets -158 v. Padres | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 9 m | Show
Jeff Allen's National League Game of the Week is on the NY Mets The Mets saw their four game win streak snapped on Sunday and who better to get them back on track than Jacob deGrom. The former Stetson All-American shortstop is 11-3 with a 3.37 ERA and who has been lights out his last seven starts. deGrom is also the best hitting pitcher in the bigs and can help himself out with the bat. Clayton Richard is 5-10 with a 5.33 ERA on the year and his ERA over his L3 starts is 8.00 while allowing 34 baserunners in his last 15 2/3 innings of work. |
07-23-17 | Cardinals v. Cubs -171 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Sunday ESPN Cards/Cubs Classic Rivalry winner is the Chicago Cubs The Cubs have won six out of seven coming out of the break and and have drawn to almost dead even with the Brewers in the National League Central. When we look back at the season, we'll look back at the Jose Quintana deal as the sot in the arm the Blue Bears needed to get jolted back into reality. The Cubs problem this year is that the starters have allowed a tick under two runs more this year than they did last year and Quintana (who needed to get out of the South side in the worst way) has provided just that going seven scorless and striking out 12 in his debut. With pretty much guaranteed run support at this point, Jose Quintana just might have been the pick up of the stretch drive. Wacha has nice numbers L3 but owns a 6.26 ERA in 12 LT starts against the Cubs so he has never been a mystery to the Blue Bears. |
07-22-17 | White Sox v. Royals -179 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Jeff Allen's Saturday Bully Beat Down in on the Kansas City Royals The WSox Mike Pelfrey is up to his old tricks. He's sporting a 6.93 ERA over his L3 starts allowing 23 baserunners in just 13 innings of work. He's also 1-5 with a 6.20 ERA in nine LT starts vs. Kansas City. Jason Vargas has not been very good his last two starts but his 12-4, 3.05 ERA season body or work earns him a pass and a chance to square himself away against the lowly Pale Hose. Kansas City is 17-7 L24 in the series on this field. |
