09-04-18 | Padres v. Diamondbacks UNDER 8 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 24 m | Show
San Diego pulled the big upset last night in their opener with the D'backs, beating them 6-2. It was the Padres fifth win in their last seven games. Joey Lucchesi will start tonight for the Padres with a 7-7 record and 3.59 ERA. Lucchesi has allowed just three runs over his last two starts (12 2/3 innings). Arizona has dropped four straight games and has fallen 1.5 games back in the NL West division. The D'Backs will start Robbie Ray tonight. Ray is 4-2 with a 4.55 ERA and has allowed just two runs over his last two starts (10 1/3 innings). Both these pitchers have been in good form of late and with that, I'm going UNDER here tonight. |
09-03-18 | Mets v. Dodgers UNDER 7 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show
The Dodgers coming off a huge series against the Diamondbacks, taking three of four. The last two in dramatic fashion, coming from behind in the 8th and 9th innings to win. The result is the Dodgers are now in 1st in the NL West by a 1/2 game over the Rockies and one game over Arizona. The Dodgers start Alex Wood today who is 8-6 on the season with a 3.49 ERA. Wood has pitched very well of late, allowing just five runs over his last five starts (27 2/3 innings). The Mets took two of three from their series with the Giants. They will start their Ace Jacob Degrom. Degrom is 8-8 with a 1.68 ERA. His record isn't indicative of his pitching though. Degrom has allowed two runs or less in each of his last six starts and nine of his last 10 starts. Both pitchers will be good tonight and again runs will be hard to come by with these teams. Take the UNDER. |
09-02-18 | Diamondbacks v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | 2-3 | Win | 102 | 6 h 33 m | Show
It's a virtual tie in the NL West between the Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Rockies. The Dodgers have had to rely on late inning heroics the last two games to rally and win. They have taken two of three from the Diamondbacks and the best news is it looks like closer Jansen has returned to his old form after a shaky start to his return from the IR. All three games have been strong pitching games with all three going under. That's what I'm sticking with today, the UNDER. Clay Buchholz has been very surprising for the D'backs with a 7-2 record and 1.76 ERA. He's allowed no runs over his last 14 innings. Walker Buehler has also been very good for LA, with a 6-3 record and 2.59 ERA. He's allowed just three runs over his last four starts (24 innings). This is going to be another low scoring game. Take the UNDER. |
08-25-18 | Pirates v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 9-1 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 50 m | Show
Wild finish to this game on Friday night as the Pirates and Brewers had to go 15 innings to decide this game. Tied at 4-4 in extra innings, the Pirates took a 6-4 lead in the 15th only to have the Brewers rally for three in the bottom half of the inning for the win. This was a big win for Milwaukee since they are in a dog fight with St Louis and Chicago for the NL Central race. The Brewers will come back with Jhoylys Chacin on Saturday. Chacin is 13-4 this season with a 3.58 ERA. Chacin has shut down the opposition, allowing no runs over his two starts (13 innings) with just two walks and 13 KO's. The snake bit Pirates will send Jameson Taillon to the hill. Taillon is 9-9 with a 3.58 ERA. Taillon has been very consistent, allowing three runs or less in each of his last 15 starts. Both these starters are excellent and with the bullpens likely not getting much action, I like this game to go under. |
08-24-18 | Cardinals v. Rockies UNDER 11 | 7-5 | Loss | -114 | 8 h 9 m | Show
St Louis has been red-hot and has climbed into 2nd place in the NL Central, just three games back of the Cubs. Miles Mikolas starts today for the Cardinals. Mikolas has been excellent, posting a 13-3 record with a 2.80 ERA. Mikolas has allowed two runs or less in nine of his last 11 runs. The Rockies have also been hot and are just one back in the NL West. Antonio Senzatela has just six starts this season, with a 2-2 record and 3.60 ERA. Senzatela has allowed just four total runs over his last three starts (15 innings). Both clubs are hot and both pitchers have been excellent. I will just go with the UNDER here tonight. |
08-24-18 | Pirates v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 39 m | Show
Milwaukee has dropped to third place in the NL Central, 3.5 games back of the Cubs and now 1/2 game back of St Louis. The Pirates are out of it now, some 11 games back of the lead in the division and riding a 2-8 streak. Wade Miley starts today for the Brewers. Miley is 2-2 in his nine starts with a 2.18 ERA. Wiley has been excellent, allowing two runs or less in eight of his nine starts and three in the other. The Pirates start Joe Musgrove who is 5-7 with a 3.31 ERA. While Musgrove has pitched well, the Bucs have lost three of his last four starts. Both pitchers have been very good and I look for this one to go UNDER. |
08-22-18 | Cardinals v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 34 m | Show
The Dodgers have scored just five runs in their two games with the Cardinals, falling even further back in the NL West to the Diamondbacks. Walker Beuhler will look to change that today as he's 6-3 for LA with a 2.71 ERA. Buehler has been very good lately, allowing four runs over his last four starts (25 1/3 innings). The Cardinals have won two straight and 12 of their last 14 games with some solid pitching. Jack Flaherty toes the rubber today for the red birds. Flaherty is 7-6 with a 2.96 ERA. In addition, Flaherty has allowed just two runs over his last three starts (19 innings). Both these pitchers have been great of late, I'm looking at the UNDER tonight |
08-22-18 | Braves v. Pirates UNDER 8.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 29 m | Show
The Braves have won two straight, allowing just one run in the process to the Pirates. The Braves have gone under in four straight games and six of the last seven games. Julio Teheran starts today with a 8-7 record and 4.24 ERA. Teheran has been good lately allowing three runs or less in six of his last seven starts. The Pirates offense has gone South, scoring six total runs over their last six games and getting shutout in three of those games. Trevor Williams gets the start today for the Bucs with a 10-9 record and 3.53 ERA. Williams has been very good of late, allowing three total runs over his last six starts (37 innings). With Williams pitching lights out and the Bucs bats gone cold, this one is a dead UNDER. |
08-22-18 | Rangers v. A's UNDER 8.5 | 4-2 | Win | 101 | 3 h 58 m | Show
The A's pitching staff has been amazing and it got even better with some key deadline moves. They have shutout the Rangers in two staright games, winning 6-0 and 9-0. Edwin Jackson starts today for the A's with a 4-2 record in his 10 starts. Jackson has a 2.58 ERA and has allowed just two runs over his last four starts (24 1/3 innings). The Rangers will counter with Mike Minor who is 9-6 and has a 4.61 ERA. Minor has been good of late, allowing three runs or less in nine of his last 11 starts. Looks like another rough day for the Rangers to score and I like this game UNDER. |
08-19-18 | Astros v. A's UNDER 7.5 | 9-4 | Loss | -114 | 6 h 54 m | Show
The Astros looked like they were going to run away with the division at one time. As of today they are tied with Oakland for the lead in the AL West at 74-49. Oakland has been one of the hottest teams in baseball lately. That coupled with a Houston losing streak has seen the Astros once big lead evaporate. Today, I'm looking at the UNDER in this matchup. The Astros have not been hitting well, evidenced by their 2-8-1 O/U mark their last 11 games. Well, that and the fact that they have scored more than three runs just twice in their last 11 games. Their Ace, Justin Verlander, is on the hill. Verlander has struggled a bit more this year with a 11-8 record and 2.52 ERA. Verlander has allowed six runs to the Mariners and five runs to the Tigers in recent starts. Still, he's held opponents to two runs or less in six of his last eight starts. The A's are 2-9-1 O/U in their last 12 games. The pitching has been excellent and today's starter Sean Manaea has been no exception. Manaea is 11-8 on the season with a 3.44 ERA, but he's also held his last 13 opponents to three runs or less. Don't expect many runs in today's game and as such, play the UNDER. |
08-17-18 | Cubs v. Pirates UNDER 8 | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs have opened up a 3.5 game lead in the NL Central, while the Pirates have now fallen to 10 games back and are out of the 2018 playoff race. The Cubs will start Cole Hamels tonight, with a 7-9 record and a 4.22 ERA. Hamels has been great of late, allowing two total runs over his last three starts (18 innings). The Pirates have lost four straight and not scored over four runs in any of those games. Trevor Williams will start tonight with a 10-8 record and 3.66 ERA. He's been amazing lately, shutting our four of his last five opponents and allowing just two total runs over his last 29 innings. This game has UNDER written all over it. Play the UNDER. |
08-16-18 | Nationals v. Cardinals OVER 8.5 | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 39 m | Show
The St Louis Cardinals continue their playoff run with eight straight wins and three in a row over the Nationals. They have also gone over in four of the last five games, scoring six runs or more in each. Luke Weaver starts today for the Cardinals with a 6-10 record and 4.81 ERA. Weaver has been much better of late, allowing three runs or less in six straight games. Washington has fallen bellow the .500 mark now at 60-61 and is watching its playoffs hopes fade fast. Tanner Roark starts today for the Nats with a 7-11 record and 4.00 ERA. Roark has also pitched better of late, allowing two runs or less in the last four starts. Still, both these pitchers have losing records and the Cardinals bats have been hot. I'm taking the OVER today. |
08-12-18 | Nationals v. Cubs UNDER 7.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show
It has not been a very good season for the Nationals, but they have climbed to three games over .500 and trail the Phillies by 5.5 games in the NL East. The Cubs have built a two-game lead in the NL Central over the Brewers and 5.5 over the Cardinals. Today is the rubber game of this three game set, with the teams splitting the first two. The Nationals send Max Scherzer to the hill. Scherzer is 15-5 on the season with a 2.28 ERA and 0.897 WHIP. Those numbers are pretty amazing, but he's also allowed just three earned runs over his last three starts (21 innings) with four walks and 27 KO's. The Cubs are a home dog today with Cole Hamels on the hill. Hamels hasn't had a typical year with a 7-9 record and 4.38 ERA. However, he's been much better in his last two starts, allowing just one earned run over 11 innings. I don't see many runs in this game so I'll go UNDER today. |
08-12-18 | A's v. Angels UNDER 9 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -109 | 4 h 8 m | Show |
The Oakland A's continue to put the coals to the feed of the Houston Astros in the AL West. The A's have now cut the Astros lead to just 3.5 games, winning eight of their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Angels are out of the playoff race as they trail the Astros by 14 games. The Angels look to play a bullpen game today, starting Taylor Cole. Cole has a 1.59 ERA out of the pen, but likely will only go a couple of innings. The Angels pen is decent, with a 3.63 ERA and 1.337 WHIP. The A's will start Trevor Cahill. Cahill is 4-2 in his 13 starts with a 3.12 ERA and 1.067 WHIP. Cahill has allowed just two runs over his last 12 innings with three walks and 16 KO's. The A's run to the playoffs continues today as I look for them to beat the Angels. |
08-12-18 | Phillies v. Padres UNDER 8 | 3-9 | Loss | -113 | 4 h 42 m | Show
Philadelphia looks to take this three-game set with the Padres after the two teams split the first two games. The Phillies lost on Friday 0-2 and then came back with a 5-1 win on Saturday. The Phillies look to veteran Jake Arrieta today. Arrieta is 9-6 with a 3.11 ERA. In addition, Arrieta has allowed more than two runs just one time in his last seven starts. The Padres will start Joey Lucchesi today. Lucchesi is 5-6 with a 3.70 ERA. Lucchesi has also been very good of late, allowing more than two runs just one time in his last seven starts. Both these pitchers will be hard to get runs off today. Play the UNDER. |
08-12-18 | Brewers v. Braves UNDER 9 | 7-8 | Loss | -120 | 2 h 38 m | Show
Very important game for both these teams as both are in second place in their respective divisions, but within two games of the leaders. The Brewers and Braves have split the first two games of this series, with Atlanta winning on Friday and the Brewers on Saturday, 4-2. Chase Anderson starts today for the Brewers. Anderson has a 3.81 ERA, but has been much better than that in recent games. Anderson has allowed two runs or less in eight of his last nine starts. The Braves start Sean Newcomb today. Newcomb is having a fine season with a 10-5 record and 3.15 ERA. In addition, Newcomb has allowed just three total runs over his last three starts (20 2/3 innings). Another great pitcher's duel here today and I like this game to go UNDER. |
08-10-18 | Pirates v. Giants UNDER 8 | 10-13 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
The Pirates took game one of this series on Thursday evening, 10-5. The Giants are just about out of a playoff spot as they are seven games back in the NL West and seven games back in the race for the Wild Card. The Pirates are also falling back, as they are seven games back in the NL Central and just ahead of the Giants for a Wild Card spot. The Pirates have won three straight now. They will send Clay Holmes to the hill tonight. Holmes will be making just his third start, with his last coming on July 14th. Holmes is 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA. The Giants have lost four of their last five games. They have also scored just five total runs over their last three games and they have scored more than three runs once in their last seven games. Derek Holland starts for the Giants. Holland is 5-8 on the season with a 3.96 ERA. Holland has pitched very well of late, allowing just six total runs over his last four starts (22 2/3 innings). The Giants are 2-6-1 O/U in Holland's last nine starts. I like this game to go under. The Giants haven't been scoring and both pitchers have been very good of late. Play UNDER. |
08-08-18 | Twins v. Indians OVER 9 | 2-5 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 5 m | Show
The Cleveland Indians pretty much have a wrap on the AL Central as they lead the Twins by nine games, even after the Twins last won last night. The Twins have gone over in four of their last five games. Today they start Jake Odorizzi, who is 4-7 on the season with a 4.60 ERA. Odorizzi has been hot and cold, allowing at least five runs in two of his last four starts. The Indians scored 10 runs against the Twin in game one of their series and then just two last night. They will send Mike Clevinger to the hill today. Clevinger is 7-7 with a 3.48 ERA, but actually has a higher ERA at home where he it's 4.28. Don't expect another low scoring game tonight. Play the OVER. |
08-08-18 | Phillies v. Diamondbacks UNDER 7.5 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 34 m | Show
Philadelphia and Arizona have split the first two games of their three-game set with the Phillies taking last night's contest, 5-2. They have an early start time today and Vincent Velasquez gets the go today. Velasquez is 7-8 on the season with a 3.83 ERA. Vleasquez has been very good of late, allowing just three earned runs over his last five starts. Arizona starts Pat Corbin, who is 8-4 on the season with a 3.25 ERA. Corbin hasn't been as hot as Velasquez, but has had two very good starts in his last three outings. This series has been low scoring thus far and that's just what I expect again here today. Play the UNDER. |
08-03-18 | Orioles v. Rangers OVER 11.5 | 3-11 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show
Baltimore got thrashed last night to the Rangers in game one of their series, 8-17. SO the O's will return David Hess to the hill tonight. Hess hasn't started since June 29th. However, with the departure of Kevin Guasman who was traded, Hess will be the fill-in starter. In his nine starts this season, Hess has a 2-5 record and 5.93 ERA. Hess had four straight starts where he allowed five runs or more. The Rangers will counter with Ariel Jurado, who is 1-1 in his two starts with a 4.22 ERA. Two very inexperience pitchers here as I expect a high scoring game in this one. I'm taking OVER. |
08-02-18 | Braves v. Mets OVER 8.5 | 4-2 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 1 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves have won three straight games and closed the game for first in the NL East to just a half game behind the Phillies. Mike Foltynewicz will start tonight for the Braves. Foltynewicz is 7-7 with a 3.04 ERA this season. Foltynewicz has not been as sharp lately though, allowing four runs or more in four straight starts. The Mets made history in a bad way the other night when they gave up the most runs in their history, 25 to the Nationals. They have lost two straight and four of their last five games. Jason Vargas will start tonight with a 2-6 record and 8.36 ERA. Vargas has not been good though he has been better lately. Still, the Mets should get shelled tonight as the Braves need games against these weak opponents. I'm taking the OVER here tonight. |
08-02-18 | Royals v. White Sox OVER 9.5 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 1 m | Show
While neither of these teams will make the playoffs, they still have pride to play for. The Royals have won two straight games after yesterday's win over the White Sox, 10-5. The Royals have taken the first two games in this set with Chicago. Brad Keller starts today for the Royals with a 3-3 record. Keller has a 4.02 ERA and 1.491 WHIP. Keller has allowed at least three runs in each of his last four starts and four or more in three of those. Walks have also been an issue, with 14 free passes in his last 20 innings. The White Sox have lost three straight and six of their last seven. They have allowed 10 runs or more in four of their last seven games. Reynaldo Lopez starts today with a 4-9 record and 4.57 ERA. Lopez has allowed at least five runs in his last three starts. Neither pitcher should be around long in this game. I look for a high scoring affair. Play the OVER |
08-01-18 | Astros v. Mariners UNDER 8 | 8-3 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 9 m | Show
There was a time when the Astros looked like a runaway in the AL West. However, the Mariners have closed the gap to just four games. Houston finally broke their five game losing streak with a win last night over the Mariners, 5-2. The teams have split their first two games heading into today's final contest. Dallas Keuchel will start today for the Astros with a 8-9 record and 3.67 ERA. Keuchel has pitched much better of late, allowing three runs or less in each of his last five starts. The Mariners will start Wade Leblanc. Leblanc has been very good for the M's with a 6-1 record in his 16 starts. He has a 3.34 ERA and 1.101 WHIP. I look for a close game tonight and low scoring. Play the UNDER. |
08-01-18 | Blue Jays v. A's UNDER 8 | 3-8 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 34 m | Show
Toronto has lost the first two games of their three game series with the A's. The Jays have scored just three runs total so far. They will start Marcus Stroman today. Stroman is 4-7 with a 5.31 ERA. However, Stroman has pitched very well of late, allowing three runs total in his last two starts (13 2/3 innings) and seven runs over his last four starts (25 2/3 innings). Oakland has been one of those surprise teams since June and they look for the sweep today. Sean Manaea starts today with a 9-7 record and 3.46 ERA. Manaea has not allowed over three runs in any start for his last 10 starts. I like both these pitchers today who have been very good of late. Play the UNDER. |
07-31-18 | Rangers v. Diamondbacks OVER 9 | 0-6 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 1 m | Show
The Rangers have won four straight games, sweeping Houston and taking game one of this set with Arizona last night, 9-5. The Rangers have scored, 9, 4, 7 and 11 in their last four games. In fact, six of their last eight games have gone over. Bartolo Colon starts tonight with a 5-9 record and 5.16 ERA. Colon has been roughed-up of late, allowing 11 runs over his last 11 2/3 innings. Arizona had its three-game win streak snapped last night. The D'backs send Zack Godley to the hill tonight. Godley is 11-6 with a 4.77 ERA and lofty 1.530 WHIP. Godley has had issues with walks all season. In addition, he's allowed eight runs over his last 10 2/3 innings. Neither pitcher that sharp of late, and both teams can hit. Take the OVER. |
07-30-18 | Marlins v. Braves OVER 9 | 3-5 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Miami split their four-game set with the Nationals, losing the first two and winning the last two. They travel to Atlanta to start their series with the Braves. They will send Wei-Yen Chen to the hill tonight. Chen is just 3-7 on the season with a 5.66 ERA and 1.488 WHIP. Chen has been inconsistent all season long, having one good start and then a bad one. The Braves salvaged the final game of their four-game set with the Dodgers by winning on Sunday, 4-1. The Braves send Julio Teheran to the hill. Teheran has a 7-7 record with a 4.42 ERA. Teheran also has been inconsistent, coming off a poor outing vs these Marlins where he allowed seven runs over just 4 1/3 innings. Neither pitcher really excites me here and I think both will give up plenty of runs tonight. Take the OVER |
07-28-18 | Mets v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 55 m | Show
The Mets have split their first two games of this series with the Pirates. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead last night, but couldn't hold on as the Pirates tied the game at four and eventually won at 5-4. All Star Jacob Degrom will get the start today. Degrom is only 5-5 on the season, but his record doesn't reflect his excellent 1.71 ERA and 0.967 WHIP. In fact, Degrom hasn't allowed over three runs in any of his last 17 starts. The Pirates had their 11-game win streak snapped by Cleveland, then lost two straight before last night's win. They will send Trevor Williams to the mound today. Williams is 8-7 with a 4.11 record. Williams has pitched well, allowing no runs over his last two starts (11 innings). The only blemish is the five walks and just four KO's he's allowed during that time. Both these pitchers have been very good and I expect a low scoring, close game here on Saturday evening. Play the UNDER. |
07-24-18 | Pirates v. Indians OVER 9 | 9-4 | Win | 101 | 6 h 1 m | Show
The Pirates continue their big win streak, which is now up to 10 games. The Pirates have improved to 52-49 with this 10 game streak. Last night's game didn't make the full nine since it was called after six innings with the Pirates winning 7-0. During their 10-game win streak they have been pounding the ball, averaging 6.4 runs per game. And that includes their seven runs over just six innings last night. Joe Musgrove will start today for the Bucs, with his 3-4 record and 4.08 ERA. Musgrove has allowed five runs or more in three of his last five starts. The Indians have also been a good over team, especially lately as they are 7-2-1 O/U in their last 10 games. Shane Bieber starts today with a 5-1 record and 3.53 ERA. Beiber has allowed 11 runs over his last 19 innings though. The way the Pirates are hitting and winning this game has all the markings of an OVER. |
07-24-18 | Cardinals v. Reds OVER 10 | 4-2 | Loss | -129 | 6 h 60 m | Show
The Cardinals have been an excellent OVER play of late, hitting the OVER in eight of their last nine games. The Cards will start Austin Gomber who will make his first major league start today. Gomber will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis to start today. Gomber has made some relief appearances for the Cardinals. In Memphis, he has a 3.42 ERA in 68.1 innings. Meanwhile, the Reds have also been a good over team, with 10 of their last 12 going over. Today they will start Homer Bailey who hasn't started since May 28th. Bailey is just 1-7 with the Reds and has a 6.68 ERA. Too many questions today with these pitchers, I'm taking the OVER. |
07-24-18 | Dodgers v. Phillies UNDER 7.5 | 4-7 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 55 m | Show
The Dodgers are in first place in the NL West in what is a very close race with four teams. They have won two straight games and six of eight. They will send Kenta Maeda to the hill today. Maeda is 6-5 with a 3.16 ERA. Maeda has pitched well of late, allowing four runs over his last four starts (25 2/3 innings). The Phillies will counter with Aaron Nola. Nola has been their best starter this season with a 12-3 record and 16 quality starts in his 20 appearances. Nola has a 2.30 ERA and 0.977 WHIP. This looks to be a good pitcher's duel tonight. I'm going UNDER. |
07-23-18 | A's v. Rangers OVER 10.5 | 15-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
Executive Total : The Rangers snapped their four game losing streak with a shut-out win on Sunday over the Indians, 5-0. The Rangers have gone over in three of their last four games and have scored 21 runs over that span. Texas sends Cole Hamels to the hill today. Hamels is 5-8 this season with a 4.36 ERA and 1.336 WHIP. Hamels has not pitched all that well of late, allowing 18 earned runs over his last four starts (17 innings). The A's just finished six games with their neighbors across the bay, San Francisco. The A's took four of the last five from the Giants, including the last two in extra innings. Brett Anderson will toe the rubber today for the A's with a 1-2 record in his six starts. Anderson has been hit hard for the most part, evidenced by his 6.09 ERA and lofty 1.860 WHIP. I am going with the OVER here tonight as both teams should get their share of runs. |
07-23-18 | Pirates v. Indians OVER 8.5 | 7-0 | Push | 0 | 8 h 39 m | Show
IL total of the Month : The Pirates continue their red-hot streak as they have now won nine straight games after their win over the Reds on Sunday, 9-2. The Pirates have been scoring in bunches of late, with 27 runs scored in their three games vs the Reds and 28 in their previous five games vs the Brewers. Trevor Williams starts today for the Bucs with a 7-7 record and 4.36 ERA. The Indians have been an excellent over team for most of the season. Despite their under in last night's game, they have now gone OVER in seven of their last 10 games (1 push). Corey Kluber will go for the Tribe today. Kluber was rouched up last time out, allowing eight hits and six runs over 7 1/3 innings. The Pirates have been red-hot and the Indians can score in bunches. I like this game to go OVER the total. |

07-23-18 | Dodgers v. Phillies UNDER 8 | 7-6 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 33 m | Show
Inner Circle Total :One of the big surprises this year for the Dodgers has been the pitching of Ross Stripling. Stripling has a 8-2 record in his 14 starts with a nice 2.36 ERA and 1.063 ERA. Stripling has been very good, allowing three runs or less in 12 of his last 13 starts. He's coming off a six inning no run performance vs the Padres. Not to be outdone, the Phillies have also received excellent production from Zach Eflin. Eflin is 7-2 with a 3.15 ERA and has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last seven starts. This has the makings of a fine pitchers duel tonight. I'm taking the UNDER. |
07-17-18 | National League v. American League OVER 7 | 6-8 | Win | 100 | 24 h 45 m | Show
The All Star game is tonight and finally MLB got smart enough to remove the attachment to the World Series home field advantage. This was a silly thing to pin on a game that is for fun, especially when it can impact a team that has had a great season and deserves home field throughout the playoffs. That being said, this is also the fourth straight game being played at a National League park. The AL will bat last and officially be the home team though. The MLB All Star game is unlike the NBA, NFL or even NHL in that those games usually have little or no defense and are full of scoring. This game though has been a solid under play in recent times. In fact, only the 2015 game in Cincinnati had nine runs. The other 10 of 11 years had eight or less. That's why the oddsmakers have dropped this total all the way down to seven, which is almost unheard of. Last Year's game in Miami resulted in a AL win, 2-1. Again a game dominated by pitching. That's not where I'm going this year, with this line of seven, I'm sticking with the OVER. |
07-13-18 | Rays v. Twins UNDER 8.5 | 8-11 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 29 m | Show
The Rays have gone under in three straight after last night's loss to the Twins, 1-5. They will send Nathan Eovaldi to the hill this evening. Eovaldi has been pitching very well, allowing just two total runs over his last three starts (19 innings) with just three walks and 23 KO's. The Twins will start one time Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi. Odorizzi will likely have extra incentive against his old teammates tonight. Odorizzi has also been hot, allowing just two runs over his last three starts (17 innings) with eight walks and 22 KO's. Two red-hot pitchers and for me that means UNDER. |
07-12-18 | Nationals v. Mets UNDER 7 | 5-4 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 3 m | Show
The Nationals and Mets begin a three-game set tonight in New York. The Nationals lost two of three in their last series with the Pirates, with all three games going under. The Nats scored a total of eight runs over the three games. Tonight they start their Ace, Max Scherzer. Scherzer is 11-5 on the season with a 2.33 ERA and 0.893 WHIP. Scherzer is coming off a sub-par start, allowing four runs over seven innings the the Marlins. The Mets have gone under in six of their last eight games. This is in part to an anemic offense. Steven Matz will try and keep them close tonight with a his 4-6 record and 3.31 ERA. Matz has pitched very well of late, allowing just one run over his last two starts (11 2/3 innings). Both pitchers are very good and I don't expect the Mets to get much tonight vs Scherzer. Play the UNDER. |
07-11-18 | Dodgers v. Padres UNDER 7.5 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show
The Dodgers and Padres have split the first two games of their series with LA winning on Monday and the Padres last night, 4-1. The Dodgers will send Kenta Maeda to the hill today. Maeda is only 5-5 in his 15 starts, but has a respectable 3.28 ERA. Maeda has pitched well, allowing two runs or less in seven of his last eight starts. In fact, the Dodgers have gone UNDER in eight straight starts that Maeda has made. The Padres will counter with Joey Lucchesi. Lucchesi is 4-4 on the season with a 3.27 ERA. However, he's been excellent of late, allowing just two runs over his last three starts (14 2/3 innings). Both of these pitchers have been hot and I like this game to go UNDER tonight. |
07-11-18 | Mariners v. Angels UNDER 9 | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
Seattle has fallen back to second in the AL West behind Houston. Still, the Mariners are having a fine season at 57-35. The M's send Marco Gonzales to the hill today. Gonzales is 9-5 in his 18 starts this season. Gonzales has a 3.39 ERA. In addition, Gonzales has allowed just two runs over his last two starts (15 innings). The Angels took game one with the Mariners on Tuesday, 9-3. Jaime Barria will start tonight for the Halos. Barria is 5-5 in his last 12 starts with a 3.39 ERA. Barria has pitched well of late, allowing two runs or less in each of his last three starts (15 2/3 innings). Both clubs have pitchers who have been hot and therefore I'm taking the UNDER tonight. |
07-07-18 | Rockies v. Mariners UNDER 7.5 | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 15 m | Show
The Rockies have won four straight games, thanks to some stellar pitching. The staff has allowed just four total runs over their four game win streak with three going under and one push. Kyle Freeland starts today with a 8-6 record and 3.25 ERA. Freeland has allowed just four runs over his last three starts (20 innings). The Mariners are having a great season at 56-33. They lost to the Rockies last night, 1-7 but had won nine of their previous 10 games. James Paxton starts tonight with a 8-2 record and 3.30 ERA. Paxton went eight shutout innings in his last start, walking two and striking out 11. This one should be a good pitching duel tonight. I'm taking UNDER. |
07-07-18 | Rays v. Mets UNDER 7 | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 5 h 15 m | Show
Tampa Bay just got to the .500 mark and a two game losing streak has dropped them back to 43-44. The Rays have seen their total go under in seven of their last nine games (one push). Blake Snell gets the start today. Snell is the team's ace this year with a 11-4 record and 2.24 ERA. Snell has allowed just two totals runs in his last three starts and not over two runs in eight of his last nine starts. The Mets have gone under in three of their last four games. Their hitting has not been very good this season, as they average just 4.0 runs per game. Steven Matz starts today with a 4.50 record and 3.46 ERA. Both these clubs are below average hitting teams and with Snell on the hill I don't expect much out of the Mets. I'm taking UNDER. |
07-06-18 | Braves v. Brewers UNDER 8 | 4-5 | Loss | -121 | 7 h 60 m | Show
Great pitching matchup here tonight as the Braves start Mike Foltynewicz. Foltynewicz is 6-4, but his record doesn't reflect how well he has pitched. Foltynewicz has just a 2.02 ERA this season and more recently he's allowed two run or more just one time in his last nine starts. The Brewers counter with Freddy Peralta. Peralta has only five starts under his belt, but a 2.28 ERA and has allowed no runs in three of his five outings. Two very good starters tonight and that looks like an UNDER to me. |
07-02-18 | Giants v. Rockies UNDER 11 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show
The Giants swept Arizona in their three-game series and now travel to Colorado to begin their series with the Rockies. The Giants will start Madison Bumgarner today. Bumgarner is 1-2 in his five starts since returning from the DL. Bumgarner has a nice 2.51 ERA and 1.021 WHIP. He is also coming off two straight starts where's he's allowed no runs over 15 innings with just four walks and 16 KO's. The Rockies took two of three from the Dodgers, though they lost on Sunday, 4-6. Kyle Freeland starts today with a 7-6 record in his 16 starts, 3.30 ERA and 1.220 WHIP. Freeland is coming off a nice start, allowing no runs and four hits over seven innings to the Giants. Both these pitchers have been pitching very well and I am going UNDER tonight. |
07-01-18 | Astros v. Rays UNDER 7 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 51 m | Show
Houston has gone over just one time in their last five games. They lost the opener to the Rays last night with the Ace Verlander on the hill, 2-5. They have now lost both games of this series to the Rays, both as big favorites. Today, the Astros send Charlie Morton to the hill. Morton has been the team's best pitcher this year with a 10-1 record, 2.54 ERA and 1.108 WHIP. Morton has not allowed a run over his last 13 innings of work with 17 KO's. The Rays have clawed their way back to .500 now at 41-41. They look to go over the break-even mark today with Blake Snell on the hill. Snell has had a great season with a 10-4 record, 2.31 ERA and 1.036 WHIp. Snell has also been hot, allowing just one run over his last 14 innings. Two red-hot pitchers here means I'm going UNDER. |
06-27-18 | Rockies v. Giants UNDER 7.5 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
The Rockies have lost three straight after losing game one of this series to the Giants on Tuesday, 2-3. This series looks to be a low scoring series in the cold, damp air of San Francisco. Kyle Freeland starts tonight for the Rockies. Freeland is 7-6 on the season with a 3.55 ERA. Freeland has allowed two runs in both his last two starts (13 innings). Freeland has been consistent for Colorado this year, allowing over four runs just one time. The Giants have won three straight games and will turn to Madison Bumbarner tonight. Bumgarner had his best start since returning in June with a eight inning performance and no runs. Bumgarner looks to be in fine form now and I look for this game to go UNDER. |
06-27-18 | Indians v. Cardinals UNDER 8.5 | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
The Cardinals look to extend their win streak to five games tonight with a win over the Indians. The Cardinals have taken the first two in this series with the Tribe, outscoring them by a 15-2 margin. Jack Flaherty starts tonight for the red birds. Flaherty is 3-2 in his 10 starts with a nice 2.50 ERA and 1.006 WHIP. Flaherty has allowed just two total runs over his last three starts (18 1/3 innings). The Indians look to avoid the sweep tonight by starting Shane Beiber. Beiber is 2-0 in his three starts. After a shaky first start where he allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings, Beiber has allowed just one run over his last 12 2/3 innings. Both these pitchers have been very good and the way the Indians offense has left them in this series, I'm going UNDER! |
06-27-18 | Yankees v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 36 m | Show
The Yankees are now 2-18 O/U in their last 20 games after last nights win over the Phillies, 6-0. The Yanks have been on an amazing under run despite having one of the most potent linesups in baseball. The Yankees just called up Luis Cessa and he will start tonight. The Yanks hope to get 70-80 pitches out of Cessa tonight. The Yankees have an excellent pen, so no problems there. The bullpen has just a 2.73 ERA this season with 24 saves. Philadelphia has two straight to the Yankees and three overall in a row. The Phils have scored just two runs against the Yankees and not surprisingly, both games went under. Zach Eflin starts tonight with a 5-2 record and 3.44 ERA. I like this game to follow suit and go UNDER. |
06-26-18 | Cubs v. Dodgers UNDER 8 | 9-4 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 32 m | Show
The Cubs offense has been mired in a bit of a slump. The Cubs have scored three runs or less in seven of their last nine games including last night's loss to the Dodgers, 1-2. Jon Lester has been solid for the club all season long. Lester is 9-2 in his 15 starts with a 2.10 ERA and 1.089 WHIP. Lester has allowed no runs in three of his last four starts and two runs in the other start. That's two total runs in four starts (27 innings). The Dodgers start Ross Stripling today. Stripling is having a fine season with his 6-2 record and 2.37 ERA and 1.000 WHIP. Stripling has allowed two runs or less in eight of his last nine starts. This looks to be another great pitching duel tonight. Take the UNDER |
06-26-18 | Nationals v. Rays UNDER 7 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 3 h 33 m | Show
Nationals offense continues to slump, getting shut out on Monday by the Rays, 0-11. The offense has scored three runs or less in four of their last six games. Today, the Nats send their Ace, Max Scherzer to the hill. Scherzer is 10-3 in his 16 starts with 14 quality outings. Scherzer has a 2.09 ERA with a 0.845 WHIP. In addition, Scherzer has allowed two runs or less in all but one start this year. The Rays are now just two games back of .500 after winning four straight games including a sweep of the Yankees. The Rays send Nathan Eovaldi to the hill today. Eovaldi is just 1-3 on the season with a 4.91 ERA. Eovaldi has just five starts so he's still working some of the issues out. Today I like this game UNDER. Scherzer won't allow much and Eovaldi I look for improvement in each game. Play UNDER. |
06-25-18 | Blue Jays v. Astros UNDER 7 | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
Toronto struggling just to get to .500 in one of the toughest divisions in baseball, the AL East. Toronto starts J.A. Happ today. Happ is having a very good season at 9-3 with a 3.56 ERA and 1.033 WHIP. Happ and the Jays have the unenviable task of facing Justin Verlander today. Verlander is 9-2 with a 1.60 ERA and 0.776 WHIP. Verlander has not allowed more than three runs in any of his 16 starts this season. In fact, Verlander has 15 quality starts. I don't expect the Jays to get but one or two at the most. If Happ can keep the Astros in check, this one will go UNDER |
06-25-18 | Nationals v. Rays UNDER 7 | 0-11 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 38 m | Show
Washington has not been playing very well of late. The Nationals have lost two of three and seven of their last 10 games. The offense has struggled at times. Gio Gonzalez will start today for the Nats with a 6-4 record, 3.08 ERA and 1.347 WHIP. Gonzalez has struggled in June like the Nationals. Gonzalez has allowed 14 runs in his four June starts over 20 1/3 innings. The Rays have won three straight after sweeping the Yankees. The Rays start Blake Snell today who is 9-4 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.060 WHIP. Snell has allowed one run or no runs in five of his last six starts. I like the way that Snell has been pitching and with the struggles the Nats have had of late, I look for this game to go UNDER. |
06-24-18 | Padres v. Giants OVER 8 | 2-3 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 32 m | Show
These two teams play their fourth game of this series today. The Padres look to even the series with a win today. San Diego will start Eric Lauer who is 3-4 in his 11 starts with a 5.47 ERA and lofty 1.843 WHIP. Lauer has walked nine batters in his last three starts (16 2/3 innings). The Giants counter with Dereck Rodriquez who is 2-1 with a 4.87 ERA. Rodriquez has allowed 10 runs over his last 14 2/3 innings. Neither starter is much to boast about here today and I look for both teams to get their hits and runs. Play the OVER. |
06-23-18 | Diamondbacks v. Pirates UNDER 8 | 7-2 | Loss | -119 | 4 h 18 m | Show
Arizona has taken both games from Pittsburgh to open this four-game series. The D'backs have outscored the Bucs, 11-4. They will start Zack Grienke today who is 6-5 on the season with a 3.90 ERA and 1.167 WHIP. Pittsburgh will try and snap its three game losing streak today with Joe Musgrove on the hill. Musgrove is 2-2 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.262 WHIP. Musgrove has three quality starts in his six outings. Pittsburgh has scored three runs or less in each of its last four games. I don't expect many runs again here today. Play the UNDER. |
06-23-18 | Rangers v. Twins OVER 9.5 | 9-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 23 m | Show
Texas now on a six-game win streak after their opening series win over the Twins on Friday, 8-1. Yovani Gallardo will start today for the Rangers. Gallardo makes just his second start of the season. In his first, he went five innings, gave up six hits and five runs. The Twins have allowed 17 runs in their last two games. Jake Odorizzi will start today with a 3-4 record and 4.38 ERA. Odorizzi has allowed 16 runs over his last four starts for the Twins. This one should be high scoring with two poor pitchers on the hill. Play the OVER. |
06-22-18 | Cardinals v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Both these teams are very good under teams this year. St Louis is 30-39 O/U on the season while Milwaukee is 29-43 O/U. Jack Flaherty will start for the Cards. Flaherty is 3-2, but has a very good 2.66 ERA with a 1.085 WHIp. He has allowed one or no runs in six of his nine starts. Milwaukee counters with Junior Guerra who is 3-5, but also has an excelletn 2.89 ERA. Guerra has allowed three runs or less in seven straight games. Both these pitchers are better then their respective records indicate. I like this game UNDER tonight. |
06-21-18 | Orioles v. Nationals UNDER 7 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 14 m | Show
Interleague action here tonight has the Orioles playing their close neighbor, Washington. That means the AL O's have to hit their pitchers tonight. The O's are already one of the biggest under teams in baseball at 29-41 O/U on the season. This is because their offense only averages 3.6 runs per game. Don't expect them to get much vs the Nationals' Ace, Max Scherzer. Scherzer is 10-3 with a 2.06 ERA and 0.844 WHIP. Scherzer has not allowed over two runs in any of his last four starts. The O's will start Kevin Gausman. Guasman is 3-6 with a 4.48 ERA. Guasman is coming off nice starts where he's allowed five total runs over 12 2/3 innings. Don't think the O's get many runs here tonight. Play the UNDER. |
06-21-18 | Mariners v. Yankees UNDER 8 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 1 h 14 m | Show
Seattle lost game two of this series to the Yankees last night, 5-7. That evened the series at one game each. Mariners Ace James Paxton will take the hill today. Paxton is 6-1 in his 15 starts with a 3.44 ERA. Paxton had one of his worst starts of the season last time out, allowing six runs over just 2 1/3 innings to the Red Sox. Still, Paxton has been the most consistent pitcher in the M's rotation this year. The Yankees finally got a game over last night. That broke their string of 14 straight under games. Luis Servino gets the start today at 10-2 on the season. Servino has a very good 2.09 ERA and 0.929 WHIP. Both these pitchers are excellent and to me this game looks like another under for the Yankees. Play UNDER. |
06-20-18 | Rangers v. Royals OVER 9.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 50 m | Show
The Rangers have won four straight games. The Rangers look to sweep the Royals today, having outscored them 10-4 in the first two games. Austin Bibens-Dirkx will make just his third start of the year tonight. Bibens-Dirkx has not pitched all that well, allowing eight runs in his 11 innings pitched. The Royals will start Jake Junis tonight. Junis is 5-7 with a 4.43 ERA. Junis has been hit hard of late, allowing 12 runs over his last 10 2/3 innings. This one has all the markings of a high scoring game. I'm playing the OVER. |
06-18-18 | Mets v. Rockies UNDER 9.5 | 12-2 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show
The Mets have been a very good under team all season as they are 28-38-2 O/U on the year. A big reason for this is their lackluster offensive output that has accounted for just 3.8 runs per game. The good news is that Ace Jacob Degrom is on the hill today. Degrom is 4-2 in his 14 starts, but has an outstanding 1.55 ERA. In fact, You would have to go back to early April to find that last time Degrom has allowed more than two runs in a game. The Rockies are slumping, losing two straight and eight of their last 10. They will counter today with Tyler Anderson. Anderson is 4-1 with a 4.48 ERA. Anderson has allowed just three runs over his last 14 innings. Don't expect a lot of runs here today with Degrom on the hill. The Mets anemic offense likely won't produce much either. Play the UNDER. |
06-17-18 | Red Sox v. Mariners UNDER 8 | 9-3 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 23 m | Show
Boston has had some offensive struggles of late, scoring no runs in their loss last night to the Mariners. In addition, they have scored two runs or less in six of their last 10 games. Eduardo Rodriquez starts today and is 8-1 for the Sox. Rodriquez has a 3.64 ERA and has allowed two runs or less in five straight starts. Seattle counters with Mike Leake today. Leake is 7-3 with a 4.26 ERA. Leake has been very good lately, Allowing two runs or less in each of his last five starts. Both pitchers are throwing very well and I like the UNDER today. |
06-17-18 | Tigers v. White Sox UNDER 9.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 24 m | Show
Detroit has been a good under team all season, but lately they have gone under in three of their last four and are 3-9 O/U in their last 12 games. Blaine Hardy starts today with a 2-1 record in his six starts. Hardy has a 3.67 ERA and has allowed two runs or less in all but one of his six starts. The White Sox have also been a very good under team, going 1-13-1 O/U in their last 15 games. James Shields starts today with a 4.57 ERA. Shields is coming off an excellent start, allowing just one run over seven innings to the Indians. I like these two under teams to play UNDER today. |
06-17-18 | Phillies v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 10-9 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 24 m | Show
The Phillies improved t0 36-32 with their win last night over the Brewers, 4-1. The will send one of their best starters to the hill today in Aaron Nola. Nola is 8-2 in his 14 starts with a 2.27 ERA and 0.934 WHIp. Nola has allowed one run in each of five starts of his last seven overall games. Nola has been one of the best pitchers for the Phils this year. The Brewers have been a dead under team this year at 27-41 O/U. Chase Anderson starts today with a 5-5 record, 4.13 ERA and 1.167 WHIp. Anderson is coming off one of his best starts of the year, allowing no runs over seven innings to a very good hitting Cubs team. Both teams should be scoring low today and with that I'm going UNDER. |
06-16-18 | Astros v. Royals OVER 9.5 | 10-2 | Win | 105 | 2 h 19 m | Show
Houston's pitching is one of, if not the best, in baseball. Despite that fact, the Astros have gone over in five straight games thanks to a offense that has scored 41 runs in those games. Dallas Keuchel is only 3-8 on the season and has a 4.45 ERA. Kansas City will start Danny Duffy starts today with a 3-6 record and 5.28 ERA. Neither of these pitchers have been good and the way Houston has been scoring runs, it might be a long night for the Royals. Play the OVER. |
06-15-18 | Cubs v. Cardinals UNDER 8.5 | 13-5 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 53 m | Show
The Cubs have been a good under play of late, going under in their last two games and six of the last seven. The Cubs were shut out in their last two games of the Milwaukee set. Today they send Jon Lester to the hill. Lester is 7-2 with a 2.22 ERA and 1.091 ERA. Lester has not allowed a run in either of his last two starts (14 innings). Michael Wacha has been red hot for the Cardinals. Wacha is 8-1 on the season with a 2.46 ERA. Wacha has allowed two runs or less in each of his last 10 starts! This one has under written all over it. Play UNDER. |
06-15-18 | Tigers v. White Sox UNDER 8.5 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show
The Tigers have seen their last two games go under and eight of their last 10. It doesn't help that they lost slugger Miquel Cabrera for the season with a bicep injury. Michael Fiers gets the start today against the White Sox. Fiers is 5-3 with a 4.01 ERA. More important is that Fiers has allowed just four runs over his last three starts (18 2/3 innings). The Sox have been a good under team all season, but lately they have seven straight unders and are 0-12-1 O/U in their last 13 games. Reynoldo Lopez may have a losing record at 2-4, but he has a nice ERA of 3.26 and has allowed just one earned run over his last 13 1/3 innings. I like this one to go under. |
06-14-18 | Rockies v. Phillies OVER 8.5 | 3-9 | Win | 100 | 3 h 2 m | Show
These teams conclude their three game set today with the the clubs splitting the first two games. Both the first two games went OVER with nine runs in each contest. The Rockies can reach .500 with a win today. German Marquez starts today for the Rocks with a 4-6 record and 4.92 ERA. He's been hit pretty hard the last two games, allowing nine runs over 10 innings. The Phillies have gone over in two straight and four of their last five games. They send Vincent Velasquez to the hill with his 4-7 record and 4.95 ERA. Velasquez only went 3 2/3 innings his last start, allowing nine hits and 10 runs! Both these teams should get plenty of runs here today with these pitchers on the hill. Play the OVER. |
06-13-18 | Indians v. White Sox UNDER 8.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show
The Indians has their two-game win streak snapped last night by the White Sox, 1-5. Cleveland and Chicago have split the first two games of their series with both game going UNDER. Cleveland has gone under in six of the last seven games. The Tribe will send Trevor Bauer to the hill with a 5-4 record, 2.62 ERA and 1.151 WHIP. Bauer is coming off a fine outing where he allowed just one run to the Tigers over eight innings for the win. The White Sox are 0-10-1 O/U in their last 11 games. Their pitching has been solid with a bullpen that has allowed just 3.85 ERA. Dylan Covey makes his sixth start of the season tonight. Covey is 2-1 with a 1.27 ERA and 1.235 WHIP this season. Covey has pitched well in all five starts, allowing two runs or less in each contest. Two very good pitchers here tonight with two teams that have been big under plays. I'm going UNDER! |
06-13-18 | Angels v. Mariners UNDER 8 | 6-8 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 27 m | Show
The Angels losing streak is now three as they have dropped to 37-31 on the season. They have lost both the first two games with the Mariners, 3-5 and last night 3-6. Even though they have gone over in two of the last three, they are still 3-9-1 O/U in their last 13 games. Garrett Richards will toe the rubber tonight. Richards is 404 with a 3.26 ERA and 1.266 WHIP. Richards has not allowed more than three runs in his last seven starts. Seattle will send Marco Gonzales to the mound tonight. Gonzales is 7-3 in his 13 starts with a 2.92 ERA and 1.230 WHIP. Gonzales has been excellent, allowing just three total runs over his last five starts (33 2/3 innings). Both these pitchers are very good and I look for this contest to be a close, low scoring one. Play the UNDER. |
06-12-18 | Nationals v. Yankees UNDER 9 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 0 m | Show
The Nationals had a string of 10 straight unders until their recent 3-1 over stint. Still, this team with their excellent starting pitching has been a very good under bet. Today they face one of the best lineups in baseball in the Yankees. Tanner Roark has just a 3-5 record, but he's pitched much better than that with a 3.35 ERA and 1.077 WHIP. Roark has allowed over three runs in just one of his last seven starts. Even with their big hitting lineup, the Yankees have gone under in five straight games, including all three with the Mets. They will send veteran CC Sabathia to the hill tonight. Sabathia is 3-1 in his 11 starts with a 3.59 ERA and 1.179 WHIp. Both these pitchers are good and should keep this a low scoring game. Play the UNDER. |
06-12-18 | Red Sox v. Orioles UNDER 9.5 | 6-4 | Loss | -119 | 7 h 58 m | Show
The teams had to go extra innings on Monday before anyone scored a run as it was 0-0 after nine. The Red Sox offense has gone South of late, scoring just 10 total runs in their last five games and they have gone under in seven straight. Eduardo Rodriguez is 7-1 for the Sox with a 3.68 ERA and 1.197 WHIP. Rodriguez has not allowed over two runs in any of his last four starts. The Orioles offense has also been anemic, scoring just seven runs in their last four games and over three runs just once in their last seven games. David Hess will try and keep them close tonight with his 2-2 record and 3.07 ERA. Hess has pitched well, allowing two total runs over his last three starts (18 2/3 innings). I don't see many runs scored by either team here tonight. Could be a repeat of last night's contest. Play the UNDER. |
06-11-18 | Angels v. Mariners UNDER 8 | 3-5 | Push | 0 | 9 h 24 m | Show
Angels have gone under in four of their last five games and nine of their last 11. They send Andrew Heaney to the hill with a 3-4 record and 3.12 ERA. Seattle will counter with Wade Leblanc who is 1-0 in his seven starts with a 2.29 ERA and 1.160 WHIP. Leblance has allowed more than two runs just once in his seven starts. Both these teams should find runs at a premium tonight. Play the UNDER. |
06-11-18 | Cubs v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 7-2 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 24 m | Show
Cubs saw all three of their games with the Pirates go under as they scored six total runs. That is six of their last seven games that went under. They will start Jose Quintana today. Quintana is 6-4 with a 4.20 ERA. In addition, he's allowed just two runs in his last 11 2/3 innings. Milwaukee has gone under in five of their last seven games. The Brewers start Junior Guerra today who is 3-4 with a 2.83 ERA. Both these teams and pitchers have been good under plays of late. I'm staying with that and going UNDER. |
06-11-18 | Red Sox v. Orioles UNDER 9 | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 19 m | Show
Boston lost two of three at home to the White Sox, scoring just six runs in the process. Steven Wright makes just his second start of the year today. His first start was a good one, seven innings vs the Tigers with two hits and no runs. The Orioles have lost four straight games and are now 19-45 on the season. The O's have gone under in 11 of their last 14 games. Dylan Bundy starts today with a 4-7 record in 13 starts with a 4.04 ERA. Both teams have not been playing well, nor scoring all that great either. I look for this one to go UNDER. |
06-10-18 | Mariners v. Rays UNDER 7 | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 38 m | Show
Seattle has won seven of their last nine games, though they did lose last night to the Rays, 3-7. James Paxton starts today and has been solid all season. Paxton is 5-1 in his 13 starts with a 2.95 ERA and 1.032 WHIP. Paxton has not allowed over two runs in any of his last four starts. Tampa Bay improved to 29-34 on the season. They will start Nathan Eovaldi today with a 1-1 record in his two starts. Eovaldi has allowed four runs over his 11 innings with eight KO's and 2 walks. Paxton should shut down the Rays tonight and I look for Eovaldi to hang in there with him. Play the UNDER. |
06-10-18 | Indians v. Tigers UNDER 8 | 9-2 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 37 m | Show
The Indians have now gone under in four straight. This after a nice run over over games. The unders are in part to good pitching and not a lot of hitting on the part of Cleveland. They will start ace Corey Kluber today. Kluber is 9-2 in his 13 starts with a 1.96 ERA and 0.851 WHIP. Kluber has produced a quality start in ever game this year. In addition, he's allowed just one run over his last three starts (19 1/3 innings). The Tigers have gone under in six straight games. They will find runs at a premium today against Kluber. So, they will turn to Artie Lewicki to keep them close. Lewicki has just one start this year, going 3 2/3 innings against the Red Sox allowing five hits and four runs. As long as the Indians don't go wild here, I like this one UNDER. |
06-09-18 | Yankees v. Mets UNDER 8.5 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
I had game one of this Subway series under last night and it didn't disappoint with a Yankees 4-1 win. The Yankees will send Domingo German to the mound tonight. German has just five starts with a 6.33 ERA, bug he's been improving game by game. The Mets have lost seven straight games and their offense has been horrible. The Mets have scored one run or zero runs in six of their last seven games. Steven Matz will start tonight for the Mets with a 2-4 record and 3.42 ERA. Matz has pitched very well of late, allowing just two runs over his last three starts (16 innings). Matz should keep the Mets close, but can they score? I'm just going UNDER once again tonight. |
06-09-18 | Angels v. Twins UNDER 8.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show
The LA Angels have been a very good under bet of late, posting a 0-3 o/u mark in their last three games and a 1-8 O/U mark in their last nine games. Pitching has been a big part of that streak. Tyler Skaggs starts today with a 4-4 record and 3.27 ERA and 1.273 WHIP. Skaggs is coming off a six inning effort vs the Rangers where he allowed no runs and four hits over six innings. The Twins are 0-4-1 O/U in their last five games. They send Kyle Gibson to the hill today. Gibson is 1-3 with a 3.54 EA and 1.209 WHIP. Gibson has allowed just two runs over his last 12 2/3 innings. Both teams and pitchers will tend this game to a low scoring one. I'm taking the UNDER. |
06-08-18 | Angels v. Twins UNDER 9 | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show
The Angels have been on a very good under roll of late, with seven of their last eight games going UNDER. Garrett Richards will try and keep that low scoring streak alive tonight. Richards is 4-4 on the season with a 3.25 ERA. Richards has been sharp, allowing just four total earned runs over his last four starts. The Twins have also been a decent under team, going 1-4-1 O/U in their last six games. They will send Lance Lynn to the hill. Lynn is 4-4 with a 5.46 ERA and 1.750 WHIP. Lynn has pitched much better of late though, allowing three earned runs in his last three starts (18 2/3 innings). I like both these pitchers to keep this game low scoring. Play the UNDER. |
06-08-18 | Yankees v. Mets UNDER 7 | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 12 m | Show
It's the subway series as the Yankees face the Mets from Shea. Despite being one of the best lineups in baseball, the Yankees have gone under in three straight. Their pitching has been solid. Today they send Masahiro Tanaka to the hill. Tanaka is 7-2 with a 4.88 ERA and 1.181 WHIP. The Mets have lost six straight games, thanks in big part to an offense that has scored 7 total runs during that span. Jacob Degrom has been excellent with a 4-0 record in his 12 starts and a 1.49 ERA. Degrom has not allowed more than one run in a start in eight straight contests. I like this one to stay under as Degrom keeps the Mets close. |
06-05-18 | Braves v. Padres UNDER 7.5 | 14-1 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 16 m | Show
The Braves lost their opener at San Diego on Monday, 4-11. The over snapped a string of five straight unders for Atlanta. The Braves had been getting very good pitching and solid bullpen work. They look to get back to those lower scoring way today with Sean Newcomb. Newcomb is 6-1 in his 11 starts with a 2.73 ERA and 1.213 WHIP. Newcomb has allowed over two runs just one time in his last six starts and that was three runs. The Padres have won three straight and will start Jordan Lyles tonight. Lyles is 2-1 in five starts with a 3.64 ERA and 1.180 WHIP. Lyles coming off an excellent outing where he allowed just two runs over seven innings. Don't expect the kind of runs they got last night. I'm going UNDER. |
06-05-18 | Dodgers v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 0 m | Show
The Dodgers have won three straight games heading into this series with the Pirates. Ross Stripling has been very good for LA with a 3-1 record in his six starts, a 2.18 ERA and a 1.121 WHIP. Stripling has not allowed over two runs in any of his last five starts. Pittsburgh split their four game series with the Cardinals, winning the first two and losing the last two. Three of the four game set went UNDER. Joe Musgrove gets the start today. Musgrove is 2-0 in his two starts, allowing just one run and 12 hits over his 14 innings. In addition, Musgrove has 12 KO's to just four walks. This is a very good pitching matchup, I'm taking the UNDER. |
06-05-18 | Rays v. Nationals UNDER 7 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
Max Scherzer is now 9-1 on the season in his 12 starts. That's pretty amazing. The guy has been great too and maybe the leader for the NL Cy Young at this point. Scherzer has a 1.92 ERA and 0.854 WHIP. In all 12 starts he's allowed more than two runs just one time! The Rays Nathan Eovaldi had a excellent start in his return to the mound. He went six solid innings with no runs and no hits. Two very good pitchers here, runs will be at a premium. Play UNDER. |
06-04-18 | Yankees v. Tigers OVER 9.5 | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 10 m | Show |
The Tigers are getting hammered in Game #1 of a day/night twin bill. I look for a Tiger rebound in game two vs German is coming off a poor start against the Astros where he gave up three earned runs on 5 hits. German has given up 5 home runs in his last 3 games and 15 runs in his last 14 innings. The Tigers have been hitting really well lately and i see no reason they should not be able to put up 4 or more tonight. Play Over in Game #2 |
06-03-18 | Nationals v. Braves UNDER 9 | 2-4 | Win | 105 | 2 h 55 m | Show
Both these teams having excellent seasons with the Nationals at 33-24 and the Braves at 34-24. They also both have excellent pitching staffs as the Nationals have held opponents to just 3.5 runs per game and the Braves have held opponents to just 3.9 runs per games. So it's not surprising that the Nationals have gone under in 9 straight games and the Braves under in five of their last six. The Braves start Anibal Sanchez who is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.333 WHIP. The Nats will start Jeremy Hellickson who is 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 0.930 WHIP. Two good pitchers, two under teams, that to me is another recipe for UNDER. |
06-02-18 | Cubs v. Mets UNDER 7.5 | 7-1 | Loss | -128 | 8 h 22 m | Show
The Cubs have improved to 31-23 with two straight wins over the Mets. Chicago has a very good pitching staff, both starters and a bullpen that allows just 2.72 ERA and 1.203 WHIP. The Cubs have outscored the Mets 12-5 so far in this series. Mike Montgomery gets the start today for Chicago. Montomery is 1-0 and only has one start. However, that was a very good start, allowing just two hits and no runs over 5 2/3 innings. The Mets will turn to Jacob DeGrom. Degrom is 4-0 in his 11 starts with a 1.52 ERA and 1.010 WHIP. Degrom has allowed just 2 total runs over his last seven starts! Degrom has been on an amazing run and I look for that to continue here today. Montgomery should also be effective and that leads me to the UNDER today. |
06-01-18 | Marlins v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9 | 1-9 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 51 m | Show
Arizona had Wednesday off and the Marlins lost at San Diego, 3-8. After a red-hot start to the season, the Diamondbacks could fall back to .500 with a loss tonight. Clay Buchholz will try to keep that from happening. Buchholz is 0-1 in his two games started with a 1.64 ERA and 0.455 WHIP. Buchholz has allowed just two runs over his 11 innings of work. The Marlins will turn to Elieser Hernandez tonight. Hernandez is 0-2 in his short three games started, but also has a very good ERA of 2.40 and WHIP of 1.000. Both pitchers have short resumes this year, but impressive none the less. I like this game to go UNDER. |
06-01-18 | Nationals v. Braves UNDER 8 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show
The Nationals lost game one of this series with the Braves on Thursday, 2-4. The Nats will send Stephen Strasburg to the hill today. Strasburg is 6-4 in his 11 starts with a 3.13 ERA and 1.056 WHIP. Strasburg has been even better of late, allowing four runs over his last three starts (18 1/3 innings). The Braves are having an excellent season at 33-23 after their Thursday win. They will send Mike Foltynewicz to the hill today. Foltynewicz is having a very good season though only at 4-3 he has a good ERA of just 2.55. In fact, Foltynewicz has been on fire of late, allowing just two earned runs over his last four starts (23 innings). Both these pitchers are hot and very good. I'm going UNDER here tonight. |
05-31-18 | Red Sox v. Astros OVER 9 | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Two teams that both can score runs in bunches meet up today in Houston as the Astros host the Red Sox. Boston averages 5.4 runs per game while the Astros average 5.0 runs per game. Add to the mix a pair of starters how have had mixed results and that's a recipe for a high scoring game. The Red Sox send Drew Pomeranz to the hill with a 1-2 record and 6.75 ERA. Meanwhile. Lance McCullers Jr will toe the rubber for the Astros. McCullers is 6-3 but is coming off a terrible start where he allowed seven earned runs over just 4 1/3 innings of work. I like these teams to get plenty of runs tonight. I'm taking the OVER. |
05-30-18 | Twins v. Royals UNDER 9 | 8-11 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 45 m | Show
These two teams played a marathon on Tuesday, going 14 innings to finally decide the game in which the Royals won 2-1. That means these teams will be pretty tired out for today's contest. The Twins will start Fernando Romero who is 2-1 in his five starts with a 1.88 ERA and 1.116 WHIP. Romero has allowed over two runs just one time in his five starts. The Royals will start Brad Keller for the first time this year. They want to see if Keller can make the transition from reliever to starter. Keller has an exceptional 2.01 ERA in his stint in the Royals pen this year. I like this game to go under as both teams will be tired and both starters should do well here. Play UNDER. |
05-29-18 | Phillies v. Dodgers UNDER 7 | 6-1 | Push | 0 | 10 h 20 m | Show
Looks like we have another great pitching matchup on the diamond here tonight as the Phillies take on the Dodgers. One time Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta is 4-2 for the Phillies this year with a 2.45 ERA and 1.149 WHIP. Arrieta has not allowed over two runs in his last four starts and last time out went 6 2/3 innings and gave up no runs. The Dodgers send Kenta Maeda to the hill. Maeda is 4-3 on the season with a 3.44 ERA. Maeda has pitched great of late, allowing no runs over his last two starts (14 2/3 innings). This should be a good one, I'm taking the UNDER. |
05-29-18 | Astros v. Yankees UNDER 9 | 5-6 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 15 m | Show
On Monday I called this the best pitching in baseball vs the best hitting in baseball. I took the Astros yesterday with Verlander as I believe that great pitching beats great hitting. I was right yesterday. Today, it's Charlie Morton for the Astros. Morton is the best pitcher thus far for Houston with a 7-0 record in his 10 starts, a 2.04 ERA and 0.973 WHIP. Morton just keeps his team in every game. So can it happen again? Can the Astros pitchers keep the Yankees hitters in check? I believe so and I'm playing the UNDER here in this contest. Play UNDER |
05-26-18 | Orioles v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 4 h 2 m | Show
Baltimore took game one of this series on Friday, 2-0. The Orioles still having a rough season at just 17-34. They will look to Andrew Cashner today. Cashner is 2-5 with a 4.72 ERA and 1.554 WHIP. Though, Cashner has pitched much better of late, allowing three runs or less in each of his last four starts. Meanwhile, the Rays have seen five of their last six games go under. Tampa Bay is 23-26 on the season and will send first time starter Ryan Stanek to the hill. Stank, a releiver, has a 5.40 ERA in his five innings of work out the pen this year. I still like this game to go UNDER. Cashner is pitching well and Baltimore won't have time to adjust to Stanke's short starting stint. Play the UNDER. |
05-26-18 | Diamondbacks v. A's UNDER 8.5 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show
Arizona finally snapped their seven game losing streak last night in game one of this series, 7-1. Still, the Diamondbacks have had a lack of offense during their slide, scoring two runs or less in eight of their last 10 games. Clay Buchholz gets only his second start of the season today. Buchholz did well in his debut, going five innings allowing two hits and one run to the Mets. The A's will counter with Daniel Mengden who is 4-4 in his 10 starts with a 3.30 ERA and 1.081 WHIP. Mengden has pitched very well of late, allowing just four earned runs over his last four starts (24 2/3 innings). Both these pitchers are good and the D'backs still haven't shown me they are out of their slump. Play the UNDER. |
05-25-18 | Twins v. Mariners UNDER 7 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 36 m | Show
Bailout Total of the Month : Late game on the schedule tonight has what looks like an excellent pitching duel. The Twins have gone UNDER in their last four game. Frank Romero is 2-0 in his four starts with a 1.66 ERA and 1.154 WHIP. Romero has allowed one run or less in three of his starts and three runs in the other one. Seattle has also gone under in four straight. They send James Paxton to the hill tonight. Paxton is 3-1 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.021 WHIP. Paxton had that no hitter just three starts ago. Two excellent pitchers here on the hill. I like this game to go UNDER. |
05-25-18 | Mets v. Brewers UNDER 8 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 38 m | Show
Two really good starters clash here on Friday as the Mets start Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard is 4-1 in his 10 starts with a nice 2.92 ERA and 1.193 WHIP. In addition, Syndergaard has not allowed more than two runs in each of his last three starts. The Brewers counter with Junior Guerra. Guerra may not have the results at 3-3, but he has an excellent 2.98 ERA and 1.228 WHIP. Like his opponent, Guerra has allowed just three total runs over his last 10 1/3 innings. I like this one to go UNDER tonight. |
05-25-18 | White Sox v. Tigers UNDER 9 | 4-5 | Push | 0 | 7 h 37 m | Show
The White Sox have struggled to a 15-32 record this season, a good part of that rests on an anemic offense that has averaged just 3.9 runs per game. The Sox have gone UNDER in eight of their last 11 games. They will send Reynoldo Lopez to the hill today. Lopez is just 1-3, but has a good ERA of 2.98 and WHIP of 1.160. Lopez coming off a eight inning, two hit, no run performance against the Rangers. Detroit hasn't been much better at 21-28. The Tigers send Michael Fiers to the hill. Fiers is 4-3 with a 4.57 ERA and 1.223 WHIP. Two anemic offenses and bad teams. I like this game to go UNDER. |
05-25-18 | Astros v. Indians UNDER 8 | 11-2 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 37 m | Show
Houston has one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. Not only do they have great starting pitching, but their bullpen allows just 2.69 ERA and has 12 saves this season. Thus, the Astros have been a very good UNDER team at 17-31-3 O/U on the season. Dallas Keuchel starts today with a 3-6 record and 1.143 WHIP. Keuchel has allowed over two runs just two times in his last seven starts. The Indians send their Ace, Corey Kluber to the hill today. Kluber is 7-2 in his 10 starts with a 2.36 ERA and 0.843 WHIP. Kluber has 10 quality starts in his 10 outings. That is amazing and with that I look for a dead under in tonight's contest. |
05-24-18 | Astros v. Indians UNDER 8 | 8-2 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 36 m | Show
Houston has been one of the best under teams in baseball this year with a 16-31-3 O/U mark. Mainly because they have such good starting pitching and a solid pen. In fact, they are 2-10-1 O/U in their last 13 games. The pen has a solid 2.76 ERA with 12 saves. Charlie Morton is a perfect 6-0 this season with a 1.94 ERA and 0.934 WHIP. The Indians will start Mike Clevinger, who is 3-1 with a 2.87 ERA and 1.157 WHIP. Both these pitchers are excellent and once again I'll stick with the UNDER |
05-23-18 | Yankees v. Rangers OVER 9.5 | 10-12 | Win | 100 | 7 h 24 m | Show
Yankees lost on Tuesday, but they continue to be one of the best teams in baseball with a 31-14 record. They also are one of the top scoring teams with a 5.9 runs per game average. CC Sabathia goes to the hill today. Sabathia is 2-1 in his eight starts with just three quality starts. Sabathia has run into some trouble of late, allowing eight runs over his last nine innings. Texas continues to struggle, now at 19-31 on the season. The Rangers send Doug Fister to the hill. Fister is just 1-4 in his eight starts with three quality outings. Both these veteran pitchers can put together excellent outings, but I like the OVER here today with the hard hitting Yankees. |
05-23-18 | Braves v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | 0-4 | Win | 105 | 7 h 23 m | Show
Luis Gorhara makes his first start today for the Braves. Gorhara is only 21-years old and left Spring Training as the top person for the fifth starter. However, Gorhara has been battling groin and ankle injuries. Philly sends Jake Arrieta to the hill today. Arrieta is 3-2 in his eight starts with a 2.82 ERA and 1.142 WHIP. Arrieta has been pitching very well and Gohora has great potential. I like the UNDER here today. |
05-23-18 | Royals v. Cardinals UNDER 8 | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 2 h 33 m | Show
Kansas City won on Tuesday, but they still are having a poor year with a 15-33 record. They average just 3.9 runs per game. The St Louis Cardinals are 26-20 and have a very good pitching staff that allows just 3.8 runs per game. Jake Junis starts for the Braves. Junis is 5-3 in his nine starts with a 3.51 ERA and 1.083 WHIP. Michael Wacha starts for the redbirds. Wacha is having an excellent season with a 5-1 record in his nine starts. In addition, Wacha has a 3.08 ERA with a 1.309 WHIP. Wacha ahsn't allowed over three runs in any of his last eight starts. I like this game to go UNDER with the light hitting Royals facing Wacha. |
