Dave B’s Fantasy 5 WR Rankings – DFS
Week 5 of the Fantasy Football season is upon us – Wide Receivers look prime to carry their teams over the top this week. Hopefully the top dogs show up this week – no Julio Jones or Odell Beckham duds this week please! Not to be deterred, I’m going back to the well again this week hoping that the two most gifted pass catcher in the game pay me off! In Julio and Odell I trust!

So which other Studs are locks for a big week? Let’s take a look at the top 5 Fantasy WR plays for Week 5.
1. Julio Jones, Falcons
vs. Washington Redskins
We’ll give Jones a mulligan for his Week 4 performance against the Texans last week – the fact is that the team simply didn’t need him. I’m expecting a bounce back effort of epic proportions this week against a Washington team that has had its issues with #1 receivers.

Jones is an absolute beast and should have his way this week. I’m projecting 8 catches for 125 yards and two, yes two TDs to make up for his lackluster last week.
2. Odell Beckham, Giants
vs. SF 49ers
Keeping with the theme of WRs prime for a huge bounce back, Odell Beckham should have a huge Week 5. He had just 38 yards on five catches last week but he did have 12 targets. His looks should continue but his production should change!
I am expecting eight grabs for 110-125 yards and a TD this week against a SF defense that has looked decent so far but will definitely be overmatched in this one. Like Jones, it seems unfathomable to keep this guy down two weeks in a row.
3. DeAndre Hopkins, Texans
vs. Indianapolis Colts
Hopkins continues to be one of the brightest young stars in the NFL despite a lack of fan fare. This week he gets a crack at a crumbling Indianapolis defense that will likely be without their top cover-guy Vonte Davis. Hopkins is the true passing game threat for Houston – he garnered 22 targets in one game! Insane.

With nobody else that Ryan Mallett is looking to, expect the volume to maintain itself and for Hopkins to land in the top 5 at the end of the week… again!
Hopkins WILL get the ball – he absolutely has to if the Texans hope to be competitive here. I like him to catch 8 passes for at least 110 yards and a TD this week.
4. Demaryius Thomas, Broncos
vs. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders have been soft against the pass so far this season – this is a prime position for the Broncos passing game to absolutely break out. Nobody benefits more from that uptick than Demaryius Thomas.
He is an absolute Stud – I’m not ready to lower my expectations in the least. 100 yards is a lock this week as Peyton Manning exposes an overmatched Oakland secondary. I also like Thomas to score a TD this week and to re-emerge as one of the top 5 guts in the game.
5. Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs
vs. Chicago Bears
It’s value time! Maclin is starting to pay off for the KC Chiefs although he has scored only once this year. He has 319 yards receiving in his last two games and has received at least 11 targets in every game so far. That should translate to some serious numbers against a bad Bears defense.

Maclin is the unquestioned focal point of the passing offense and with Alex Smith looking his way so often is a lock to have a good game Sunday. Anything less than 6-8 catches for 100 yards and a TD would be a disappointment!
