11-08-22 | Coppin State v. Georgetown OVER 147 | 89-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show
The Georgetown Hoyas will open their 2022-23 campaign against the Coppin State Eagles on Tuesday night. Georgetown is coming off a disastrous season, going 6-25 and finishing last year on a 21-game losing streak. Coppin State opened its season on Monday night, losing to Charlotte in an 82-59 blowout. |

11-07-22 | Cavs v. Clippers +4 | Top | 117-119 | Win | 100 | 13 h 38 m | Show |
On an eight-game winning streak with consecutive victories on their current road swing, the Cleveland Cavaliers will return to the same building Monday when they pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Cavs pulled off an impressive 114-100 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon when Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points and put a charge in Cleveland's dominating second half. The Cavs held the Lakers to 36 second-half points and won after trailing 80-77 with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Cleveland's 17-0 run that extended nearly two minutes into the fourth quarter was the difference. "That wasn't who we are," Mitchell said on the Bally Sports Cleveland broadcast about a six-point halftime deficit. "It's never going to be perfect. That's going to happen, but it's how you respond through adversity. ... Coming out the way we did to start the fourth, that's big time." Mitchell now has 251 total points this season and became the third player with at least 250 points in eight games for his new team, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Wilt Chamberlain (317 points) with the Philadelphia Warriors and Kyrie Irving (255) with the Brooklyn Nets also accomplished the feat. Daruis Garland had 24 points for Cleveland, while Jarrett Allen (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Kevin Love (10 points, 10 rebounds) each had a double-double. Garland (knee) and Mitchell (ankle) each played after not taking the court Friday in a victory at Detroit. The Cavs are in a stretch where they play six of seven games on the road and visit Sacramento and Golden State once they leave Los Angeles. |

11-07-22 | Lakers v. Jazz OVER 229 | 116-139 | Win | 100 | 10 h 57 m | Show
In an interesting scheduling quirk, the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers will meet Monday night in Salt Lake City after the two teams both played a pair of games in L.A. over the weekend. As far as basketball goes, the Jazz certainly had the better weekend. Utah defeated the Lakers 130-116 on Friday and then downed the Clippers 110-102 late Sunday night. Los Angeles lost its meeting against Cleveland at home Sunday afternoon before traveling to Utah. Those results align with how the season has started for the two teams -- surprisingly good so far for Utah, which is off to an unexpected 8-3 start, and surprisingly bad for the Lakers, who have only managed to win two of their first nine games despite having a star-studded lineup. The Jazz looked like they might have been en route to a road loss Sunday after the Clippers erased their 10-point lead to go ahead by four in the fourth quarter. But Utah ended its three-game road swing strong with an impressive win against Paul George & Co. Jordan Clarkson led Utah with 23 points, while Collin Sexton scored 22 and lifted the team late in the fourth quarter. Lauri Markkanen added 18 points with nine rebounds and Mike Conley scored 17 with seven boards and four assists. Kelly Olynyk also played well down the stretch. Utah's defense was superb in the fourth quarter when it held the Clippers to only 17 points, including just six in the final five minutes. |

11-07-22 | Nets v. Mavs UNDER 217.5 | Top | 94-96 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
On Oct. 27, Luka Doncic visited the Brooklyn Nets and scored 41 points in a dynamic triple-double as the Dallas Mavericks held on for a four-point overtime victory. Doncic will attempt to match his previous effort against Brooklyn on Monday night when the Mavericks host the Nets, who aim to put a turbulent week in their rearview. Doncic heads into Monday averaging a career-best 36 points and is the second player in NBA history to open with at least eight straight games of at least 30 points. The only other player to start that hot was Wilt Chamberlain when the Hall of Fame center scored at least 30 points in 23 straight to start the 1962-63 season when he averaged 44.8 points per game for the San Francisco Warriors. |
|||||||
11-07-22 | Knicks +3 v. Wolves | 120-107 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
The Minnesota Timberwolves continue a four-game homestand on Monday, seeking consecutive wins when the New York Knicks visit Minneapolis. Minnesota opened its home stretch on Friday dropping a 115-102 decision to the Milwaukee Bucks, the third straight loss for the Timberwolves. They rebounded in the second leg of the weekend back-to-back on Saturday, outpacing the Houston Rockets 129-117. Seven Wolves scored in double figures Saturday, including all five starters. The 129 points mark the second-most by a Timberwolves' offense that has struggled to find consistency early in the season. Minnesota has averaged 121 points per game in wins, and 107.8 in losses. Since scoring 126 in an overtime loss to the Utah Jazz during the second game of the campaign, the Timberwolves have not scored more than 107 in any of four defeats. The Wolves' Karl-Anthony Towns scored a team-high 25 points on 9-of-14 field-goal shooting against Houston. |

11-07-22 | Raptors v. Bulls OVER 220 | 97-111 | Loss | -112 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Turnovers and struggles in the paint doomed the Chicago Bulls during Sunday's 113-104 road loss to the Toronto Raptors. Toronto's Christian Koloko made life especially rough on the Bulls, recording six of the Raptors' 10 blocked shots. "He did exactly what he does. Congrats to him. He had a great game," Chicago's Dalen Terry said. "But we'll see him again tomorrow." Yes, the Bulls will get an immediate opportunity to rebound on Monday as they host the Raptors in the conclusion of a home-and-home back-to-back. Koloko scored a career-high 11 points and was one of five Raptors in double figures Sunday. Fred VanVleet (30 points, 11 assists) and Scottie Barnes (19 points, 10 rebounds) each notched double-doubles for the Raptors, who were without leading scorer Pascal Siakam, who is expected to miss at least two weeks with a strained right adductor muscle. |

11-07-22 | Blazers v. Heat OVER 215 | Top | 110-107 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show |
The Miami Heat have played two straight games without their leading scorer, Jimmy Butler, who has been absent due to a sore left hip. The Portland Trail Blazers have played four straight games without their leading scorer, Damian Lillard, due to a strained right calf. Even worse for the Trail Blazers, they've played two straight games without starting guard Anfernee Simons, who has left foot inflammation. The Blazers and Heat will hope to welcome back these important pieces on Monday when Portland visits Miami. Lillard, who is averaging 31.0 points, was upgraded to questionable for Monday. Simons, who is second on the Blazers in scoring (22.0) and third in assists (3.9), is doubtful. Butler, who leads Miami in points (21.5) and ranks second in assists (5.5) and rebounds (6.4), could also be back on Monday after the Heat didn't list him on their injury report. The Heat, who are set to start a four-game homestand, are coming off a two-point loss at the Indiana Pacers. On the bright side, the Heat have won two straight home games, and coach Erik Spoelstra is optimistic. |

11-07-22 | Blazers v. Heat -7.5 | Top | 110-107 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 26 m | Show |

11-07-22 | Bucks v. Hawks +4.5 | 98-117 | Win | 100 | 8 h 22 m | Show
The Milwaukee Bucks will take their perfect record on the road Monday night when they open a five-day, three-game trip against the Atlanta Hawks. Benefitting from a schedule that has seen them play seven of nine at home, the Bucks have opened with nine wins in a row, matching the 14th-longest run ever to begin an NBA season. A 10th consecutive win would move Milwaukee into a tie with the 1972-73 Boston Celtics, 1993-94 Seattle SuperSonics and 2000-01 Philadelphia 76ers for 11th on the all-time list. Among the Bucks' nine victims were the Hawks in a 123-115 decision in Milwaukee on Oct. 29. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday paced the win with 34 points apiece, allowing the Bucks to prevail on a night on which Trae Young exploded for 42 points for the visitors. Milwaukee survived a rare close encounter with a 110-108 home win over the Detroit Pistons in their next game, and have since rolled on with 25-, 13- and 14-point victories. The Bucks are coming off a 108-94 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Milwaukee will also see the Thunder on this trip, in between visits to Atlanta and San Antonio. |

11-07-22 | Suns v. 76ers +2.5 | Top | 88-100 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show |
Injuries and illness have hampered the Philadelphia 76ers through the first 10 games, although their most important player is on the mend. Joel Embiid, who has been sidelined with a non-COVID illness for three straight games, is close to a return as the Sixers get set to play host to the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Fellow Philadelphia star James Harden is out for at least one month with a strained tendon in his foot. For the Sixers to rebound after a 4-6 start, Embiid's return is vital. "I was 50/50 watching him at shootaround," Sixers head coach Doc Rivers said Saturday after a 106-104 loss to the New York Knicks. "I thought he was really struggling. He went through like 25 percent of shootarounds. You can see he wasn't feeling great, showed up, went out on the floor, got shots, and just felt bad. |

11-07-22 | Pelicans -5.5 v. Pacers | 122-129 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 12 m | Show
The New Orleans Pelicans are doing well during regulation. In overtime, not so much. They will try to take care of business in four quarters when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Monday. The Pelicans are 4-1 in games decided in regulation, but they've lost all three games that have gone into overtime, including a 124-121 loss at Atlanta on Saturday. "We've got to grow," New Orleans coach Willie Green said. "At the end of the day, the game is going to come down to getting stops and executing offensively. We start the overtime with the turnover. We missed a layup with a chance to tie the game in overtime. There are things that we can clean up, but our execution has to be better." The loss to the Hawks came one night after a 114-105 home victory against the short-handed Golden State Warriors. |

11-07-22 | Pelicans v. Pacers UNDER 234 | 122-129 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 56 m | Show

11-07-22 | Wizards v. Hornets OVER 214 | 108-100 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 52 m | Show
The Washington Wizards and host Charlotte Hornets are in need of a reversal of their fortunes early in the season, and both will be looking to put a halt to a freefall when the teams meet for the first time this season on Monday night. The Hornets, who carry a four-game losing streak, and the Wizards, who have dropped five of their last six games, have encountered a bevy of shortcomings. Among the glitches for the Wizards and Hornets was the inability to capitalize on facing the Brooklyn Nets, who have been mired in turmoil. Washington and Charlotte lost to the Nets on back-to-back nights (Friday and Saturday), respectively, in home games. Coach Wes Unseld Jr. said the Wizards have demonstrated a "competitive spirit" while short-handed because of a limited roster, so that could bode well despite the unfortunate results. Washington's Bradley Beal missed Sunday's game against Memphis because he was in the league's health and safety protocols. That means it's likely he won't play in Charlotte as well. He averages 21.6 points per game. The Wizards were hurting in several ways in that 103-97 loss to Memphis, especially from beyond the arc, as they shot 19.5 percent (8-for-41) from deep. Without Beal, the Wizards moved Corey Kispert into the starting lineup in his second game back in action after an ankle injury caused him to miss the start of the season. He scored just six points. Jordan Goodwin helped spark Washington's 19-0 run in a comeback that fell short. |

11-06-22 | Jazz v. Clippers -3 | 110-102 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 12 m | Show
Somewhat in sync after a rough start, although still missing their best player, the Los Angeles Clippers will take a three-game winning streak into a home contest against the Utah Jazz on Sunday. Kawhi Leonard has played in just two games for the Clippers this season and none of the last six as he is attempting to return from a knee procedure that cost him the entire 2021-22 season. Leonard has played just 42 minutes and has come off the bench in his two appearances. His availability issues were instrumental in the Clippers' 2-4 start, although they now have consecutive victories over the Houston Rockets as well as another win Friday against the San Antonio Spurs. Paul George has been a force of late, however, scoring 32 points in the 113-106 victory over the Spurs. George has averaged 31.7 points over the past three games. |
|||||||
11-06-22 | Cavs v. Lakers UNDER 222 | 114-100 | Win | 100 | 5 h 35 m | Show
The red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers carry a seven-game winning streak into Sunday afternoon's date with the Lakers in Los Angeles. Cleveland opened its five-game road swing on Friday by cruising past the Detroit Pistons, 112-88. On a night when standout guards Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell sat with injuries, interior play set the tone for the Cavaliers in the lopsided win. Jarrett Allen led all scorers with 23 points and Kevin Love came off the bench for a 21-point, 10-assist performance, finishing two rebounds shy of a triple-double. "That's one of the things we have been talking about is no matter who is on the floor, we need to live up to our standards," Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff said after the game. "I thought our guys took that to heart." Cleveland has not lost since the Oct. 19 season opener at Toronto. The Cavs continued a trend by holding Detroit to 37.3 percent shooting from the field, lowering their opponents' season mark to 44.2 percent. Yet the number is telling us that Los Angeles is the side. |
|||||||
11-05-22 | Spurs v. Nuggets -11.5 | 101-126 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Lost in the controversy surrounding San Antonio waiving former first-round pick Joshua Primo is the fact that the Spurs are off to a good start, and their wins haven't come against tanking teams. San Antonio is 5-4 with impressive victories at Indiana, Philadelphia and Minnesota, but the Spurs will be tested with a road game against the relatively rested Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. The contest will be the first of a home-and-home set between the teams, as a rematch is set for Monday in San Antonio. The Spurs are at a disadvantage after losing to the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 113-106 on Friday night and flying to Denver after the game. The Nuggets haven't played since earning a 122-110 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. San Antonio released Primo on Oct. 28 after he was accused of indecent exposure by a former Spurs clinical psychologist, who has since filed a civil suit against the organization. Then in the Spurs' Sunday win over the Timberwolves, rookie guard Blake Wesley tore his left medial collateral ligament, and he is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Losing two ballhandlers within a week is tough for any team, especially for one as young as San Antonio. The Spurs started the season with the league's third-youngest roster. Wesley was going to get seasoning in the G-League before Primo was released, leading to him being called into action. Now the rest of the young roster will try to continue the surprising start for veteran coach Gregg Popovich. In some ways, youth might be helping the team to a better-than-expected start. |
|||||||
11-05-22 | Kings v. Magic +3.5 | 126-123 | Win | 100 | 4 h 4 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings can steal from Golden State's game plan once again Saturday night as they play their fourth consecutive game against a recent Warriors opponent when they visit the Orlando Magic. The Kings have taken advantage of the unusual schedule to triumph in two of their last three games, winning at home over the Miami Heat two days after they had faced the Warriors, prevailing at Charlotte two days after they'd seen the Warriors and losing in a rematch with the Heat one day after the Warriors had visited Miami. In the Magic, Sacramento will see a team coming off its most impressive win of the season. Yes, it came against the Warriors on Thursday, a 130-129 thriller at home. Coincidentally, the Kings and Warriors will meet Monday in San Francisco in each team's first game after a lengthy Eastern swing. Both the Kings and Magic have had more than their fair share of close contests so far. Sacramento is coming off a 110-107 loss at Miami on Wednesday that was its sixth game out of seven determined by seven or fewer points. In fact, Wednesday's tight defeat might have gone into overtime if the referees had called Miami's Tyler Herro for traveling before his game-winning 3-pointer. As is customary, the NBA reviewed the play a day later and agreed with Kings coach Mike Brown that Herro had indeed traveled. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Jazz v. Lakers -3 | 130-116 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 29 m | Show
Feeling at least slightly better about the road ahead, the Los Angeles Lakers will take their first winning streak of the season into a home contest Friday against the Utah Jazz. The Lakers started the season 0-5 but have since defeated the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans in succession, needing overtime to get past the Pelicans 120-117 at home Wednesday. The Lakers blew a 16-point third-quarter lead but forced their way into overtime when sharpshooter Matt Ryan drilled an off-balance 3-pointer at the fourth-quarter buzzer. Los Angeles won despite LeBron James shooting just 1 of 5 from the field in the extra period. Lonnie Walker IV led the Lakers with a season-high 28 points and has averaged 23 per game in the back-to-back victories. That compares to Walker's scoring average of 16.1 points overall. A heavier reliance on Walker was needed with James appearing sluggish on the court. After the game, it was revealed that James was dealing with a non-COVID illness earlier in the week. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Blazers v. Suns UNDER 219.5 | 108-106 | Win | 100 | 7 h 50 m | Show
The Portland Trail Blazers are the lone team to defeat the Phoenix Suns this season, but they did so with Damian Lillard in the lineup. When the ball is tipped Friday night in Phoenix, Lillard will be in street clothes due to his calf injury as the Suns look to avenge that 113-111 overtime defeat in Portland. It is the first of back-to-back games between the two teams. Saturday's meeting is also in Phoenix. Lillard scored 41 points in Portland's stunning victory on Oct. 21, but he strained his right calf against the Miami Heat five nights later and will miss third straight game. Suns star Devin Booker scored 33 points against the Trail Blazers and he has scored 30 or more four times this season. The setback was just the second for Phoenix in the last eight meetings with Portland. The Suns enter this meeting on a five-game winning streak. They defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-107 on Tuesday. Booker, who had 18 points, wasn't the star for Phoenix against Minnesota. Forward Cameron Johnson filled that role by making seven 3-pointers and scoring 29 points. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Warriors +10.5 v. Pelicans | 105-114 | Win | 100 | 6 h 32 m | Show
The Golden State Warriors are wrapping up a five-game road trip that has gone very poorly. The New Orleans Pelicans are back home for one game after a road trip that could have been a success but wasn't. The Warriors have lost four consecutive games as they visit the Pelicans on Friday night. Golden State has lost to the Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic, and the reigning NBA champions are 0-5 on the road this season. "We haven't been in this position in a while," Golden State guard Stephen Curry said. "We've got to pick each other up. Everybody in that locker room has to figure it out. That's what the job requires. We understand that. Our energy and effort were there." In a 130-129 loss to Orlando on Thursday, the Warriors scored 64 second-half points but gave up 77 as they lost a 12-point halftime lead. Golden State coach Steve Kerr admitted postgame that changes might be necessary. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Hornets v. Grizzlies -11 | 99-130 | Win | 100 | 5 h 7 m | Show
After a hard-fought 111-106 win over Portland ended a four-game road trip out West, the Memphis Grizzlies are riding momentum and will return home Friday to take on the slumping Charlotte Hornets. The steady hand of point guard Ja Morant continues to run the show. Morant ranks fifth in the NBA in scoring (31.4 points per game) and is dishing out 6.4 assists per game. But fellow guard Desmond Bane has been fantastic early on. After he sat out a Halloween loss to Utah with an ankle injury, Bane returned Wednesday and scored 20 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Grizzlies to a victory over the first-place Trail Blazers. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Clippers v. Spurs +4.5 | 113-106 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 56 m | Show
The Los Angeles Clippers will look to build on the momentum forged in back-to-back wins when they square off against the up-and-down San Antonio Spurs in the final game of a two-game road trip on Friday. The Clippers head to the Alamo City after a 109-101 win in Houston on Wednesday that evened their season record at 4-4. Paul George led the way with 28 points and key baskets down the stretch and Marcus Morris Sr. added 21 points (18 of them in the first half) and 10 rebounds in the victory, Los Angeles' second straight (both over Houston) after four consecutive losses. Moses Brown added 13 points off the bench for the Clippers while Reggie Jackson hit for 12 in the victory. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Nets v. Wizards OVER 222 | 128-86 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 53 m | Show
The Brooklyn Nets will try to leave their off-the-court drama in their rearview mirror on Friday when they open a three-game road trip against the Washington Wizards. The Nets suspended Kyrie Irving for at least five games without pay Thursday night after he repeatedly failed to disavow antisemitism or apologize for a social media post about a book and movie that featured antisemitic tropes, which caused a public firestorm. Nets owner Joe Tsai and NBA commissioner Adam Silver condemned Irving's post, and Irving later acknowledged the "negative impact" he caused in a joint statement with the Nets and the Anti-Defamation League. However, Irving did not apologize in the statement and the ADL has since refused a $500,000 donation from him. Irving also avoided apologizing during a tense meeting with the media Thursday afternoon. |
|||||||
11-04-22 | Heat v. Pacers UNDER 227 | 99-101 | Win | 100 | 4 h 47 m | Show
Watch out for Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton. That sentence is certainly top of mind for the Miami Heat, who visit the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. Haliburton, Indiana's 6-foot-5 point guard, leads the Pacers in scoring (21.9), assists (9.4) and steals (1.6). A third-year pro, Haliburton averaged 13.0 points as a rookie and 15.3 last season. He has also improved each year with his assist totals, going from 5.3 as a rookie to 8.2 last season to his current and impressive pace. Haliburton is also shooting 94.6 percent on free throws and 44.9 percent on 3-pointers. |
|||||||
11-02-22 | Pelicans v. Lakers +3.5 | 117-120 | Win | 100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Fresh off their long-awaited first victory of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers will see if they can make success a theme Wednesday when they host the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers started the season on a five-game losing streak before scoring a 121-110 victory at home Sunday over the Denver Nuggets. They were the last team in the NBA to finally win a game this season. It was also the first victory for new Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, who has somewhat extended himself on a limb with his decision to use Russell Westbrook off the bench. The plan took flight against the Nuggets, with Westbrook scoring 18 points and sealing the victory with a driving basket with 1:36 remaining. Westbrook's consistency issues last season, his first with the Lakers, and his caustic tone throughout, have not been a good look. So Ham made the change in roles, asking the veteran scorer to embrace the team concept while swallowing his pride. |
|||||||
11-02-22 | Grizzlies v. Blazers UNDER 226.5 | 111-106 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
The Portland Trail Blazers will aim to continue their surprisingly solid start when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. The Trail Blazers have won five of their first six contests after winning just 27 games a season ago when their eight-season playoff streak came to an end. Portland will be without Damian Lillard (right calf) for the second straight game, although this time it will be a more treacherous absence with Ja Morant off to a stellar start for the Grizzlies. The first outing without six-time All-Star Lillard went well. The Trail Blazers notched a 125-111 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday. Jusuf Nurkic dominated the interior with a season-best 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting and he also collected 15 rebounds. Anfernee Simons was hot from the perimeter with 30 points and seven 3-pointers. |
|||||||
11-02-22 | Jazz +6 v. Mavs | 100-103 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
During their surprise start, the new-look Utah Jazz have taken on and beaten teams with elite players, including Nikola Jokic, Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson and Ja Morant. On Wednesday night, they'll get their first shot at another superstar, Luka Doncic, when they visit the host Dallas Mavericks. Judging by the way they've played in the aftermath of the Donovan Mitchell-Rudy Gobert-Quin Snyder era, the Jazz certainly aren't going to quiver at the challenge. They might not have any NBA superstars, per se, but the Jazz aren't lacking in hustle and determination. It's led them to six wins in eight games, making them one of the most intriguing success stories of the early season. "Nobody is backing down or afraid of anything," Jazz guard Mike Conley said after Utah defeated Memphis 121-105 Monday night in Salt Lake City. "That's who we are. We are that team and it's fun to be around that -- guys who are scrappy that don't care about getting elbowed and don't care about fouling too many times." |
|||||||
11-02-22 | Raptors v. Spurs UNDER 224 | 143-100 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 14 m | Show
The San Antonio Spurs will have to call on their depth when they play host to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. The Spurs have won five of their past six games, including the first two of a four-game homestand. The latest came in a 107-98 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. Keldon Johnson paced San Antonio with 25 points and Doug McDermott added 23 off the bench for the shorthanded Spurs. San Antonio's 5-2 start is tied for its second-best record ever after seven games. The Spurs led 85-70 heading into the fourth quarter Sunday before a Wolves rally closed the deficit to 87-84 early in the period. San Antonio held on thanks to the final of seven 3-pointers from McDermott, tying his career high for a game, and two late Johnson free throws. |

11-02-22 | Hornets v. Bulls OVER 223 | 88-106 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 3 m | Show
The Charlotte Hornets have been really good at times during the opening weeks of the season. It's the bad stretches that they need to eliminate. The Chicago Bulls have an eerily similar early resume as they enter Wednesday night's contest against the visiting Hornets, who have dropped three of their last four games. Chicago is coming off a 108-99 victory at Brooklyn on Tuesday, snapping a two-game losing streak. It was the first time the Bulls held an opponent under 100 points this season. Meanwhile, the Hornets' defense hasn't been up to the standard that head coach Steve Clifford has set in Charlotte, and it was apparent in the team's 115-108 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday. |

11-02-22 | Kings v. Heat -6 | 107-110 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 53 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings will be without star point guard De'Aaron Fox. The Miami Heat may be without star combo guard Tyler Herro. The health of those two players will play a key role in the Wednesday game between the host Heat and the suddenly hot Kings, who have won two straight following a four-game skid. Herro, who entered Miami's Tuesday game averaging 19.9 points, got poked in the left eye in the second quarter of the contest against the visiting Golden State Warriors. He sustained a contusion and did not return, finishing with two points in 10 minutes. The Heat went on to beat the defending NBA champions 116-109. Following the game, Herro said he briefly lost his vision. However, he said he had it back by the end of the contest. |

11-02-22 | Wizards v. 76ers UNDER 218 | 121-111 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 7 m | Show
Going into Wednesday's matchup at Philadelphia, the Washington Wizards and 76ers ride mirror-opposite trajectories. Philadelphia's 118-111 victory over Washington on Monday, in the first game of consecutive contests between the teams, was the 76ers' third win in a row overall. Tyrese Maxey scored 28 points with Joel Embiid sitting out due to illness, and James Harden added 23 points and 17 assists as the 76ers continued to shake off a season-opening lull. Philadelphia lost its first three games but has since won four of five. With Monday's loss, Washington dropped its third straight and fourth in the last five after a 2-0 start to the season. Kristaps Porzingis scored a game-high 32 points for the Wizards on Monday, but the defense struggled, giving up 55.4 percent shooting from the floor to the 76ers. The Wizards shot 46.9 percent as a team, although offensive catalyst Bradley Beal failed to reach 40 percent individually. He shot 7 of 18 from the field (38.9 percent) en route to 20 points, playing more point guard than his natural two-guard, to help fill in for Delon Wright. Wright suffered a hamstring injury in last week's 120-99 rout of Detroit, which is Washington's most recent win. Wright is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks. |

11-01-22 | Magic v. Thunder OVER 215.5 | 108-116 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Tuesday's meeting between the Orlando Magic and the host Oklahoma City Thunder was supposed to be an early-season matchup of the top two picks in June's NBA draft. The Magic's Paolo Banchero, the No. 1 overall pick, has lived up to the hype, averaging 22.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in his first seven games. The Thunder's Chet Holmgren's season was over before it began after he suffered a Lisfranc injury to his right foot that required season-ending surgery. But there's still plenty of intrigue around Tuesday's game. Without Holmgren and Josh Giddey, the sixth pick from last year's draft who has missed the last three games with a sprained ankle, Oklahoma City has strung together an improbable three-game winning streak. |

10-31-22 | Grizzlies v. Jazz +2.5 | 105-121 | Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show
After Saturday's entertaining back-and-forth contest wasn't decided until the final buzzer, the NBA schedule-makers might be feeling pretty good about a quick turnaround meeting between the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz. Fresh off a wild 124-123 win, the surprising Jazz will host the Grizzlies for the second time in three nights Monday in Salt Lake City. Viewers can only hope it's as fun to watch as the previous meeting, during which Lauri Markkanen and Kelly Olynyk each scored 23 points and hit a string of key shots late in the fourth quarter for the slim win. "You got to give the Jazz credit," Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins said. "They outcompeted us for 48 minutes." |

10-31-22 | Pacers v. Nets OVER 235 | Top | 109-116 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 25 m | Show |
Six games in, the Brooklyn Nets are a defensive disaster -- the word coach Steve Nash used after the latest loss. Struggling to defend anyone, the Nets attempt to halt an ugly four-game losing streak Monday night when they conclude a two-game series with the visiting Indiana Pacers. Brooklyn's 1-5 start is its worst since it dropped the first seven games of its forgettable 2015-16 campaign. That startled coach Lionel Hollins getting fired after 37 games, a 20-62 record, and Sean Marks being hired as the general manager in February 2016. On Saturday, the Nets allowed an opposing player to score at least 30 points for the fourth straight game in a 125-116 loss, resulting in a postgame players meeting. The Nets matched a team record by allowing 23 3-pointers, the second straight time they allowed an opponent to make half of its 3-point tries after Dallas hit 20 in Thursday's 129-125 overtime loss. |

10-31-22 | Kings v. Hornets +3 | 115-108 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 2 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings open a four-game road swing Monday when they travel to Charlotte to meet a Hornets team coming off an overtime win over the reigning NBA champion. Charlotte experienced the lows and highs of a weekend back-to-back, losing a 113-93 rout on the road Friday to the previously winless Orlando Magic. The Hornets rebounded at home the following night with a 120-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Charlotte built a 15-point lead in the third quarter before the Warriors rallied, but the Hornets held the Warriors to just six points in the extra frame. "It says a lot about the guys in the locker room. They sucked it up. We were tired," Charlotte coach Steve Clifford said. "A bunch of guys played well to make the plays at the end of the game. It's a really good win for our team." |

10-30-22 | Nuggets v. Lakers +4 | 110-121 | Win | 100 | 8 h 21 m | Show
Bones Hyland went off against Utah on Friday night, sinking seven 3-pointers to help the Denver Nuggets beat the Jazz. That type of shooting is unheard of from the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The Lakers lost at Minnesota on Friday night and have lost their first five games of the season. It ties the 2014-15 team for the worst start in franchise history. That team finished 21-61 and unless the shooting improves, this year's squad could struggle to hit 20 wins. They'll go for their first Sunday night when they host the Nuggets in a rematch of Wednesday's game. Los Angeles played Friday without center Anthony Davis, who woke up that morning with back tightness but is hopeful to return against the Nuggets. The Lakers will have guard Russell Westbrook available after he missed the 110-99 loss in Denver. Westbrook scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench in the loss to the Timberwolves. It is the first time since early in his rookie year, 2008-09, that he has come off the bench. The veteran and 2017 NBA MVP talked with head coach Darvin Ham about being a reserve to provide a spark for the second unit. |

10-30-22 | Magic v. Mavs OVER 211.5 | 105-114 | Win | 100 | 6 h 10 m | Show
Rookie Paolo Banchero has received plenty of fanfare by scoring at least 20 points in each of his first six games to begin his NBA career. Banchero also has shown that he's willing to distribute the basketball following his season-high seven-assist performance in the Orlando Magic's 113-93 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. The top overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft will look to fill the box score yet again on Sunday when the Magic visit Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Banchero, 19, collected 21 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Magic to their first win of the season on Friday. He is averaging 23.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 blocks this season. His 141 points over the first six games of his NBA career trail only Hall of Fame member Shaquille O'Neal for the most in franchise history. |

10-30-22 | Wolves v. Spurs +6 | 98-107 | Win | 100 | 7 h 37 m | Show
There will be plenty of familiarity in the mix when the San Antonio Spurs host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in the third game between the teams over a stretch of seven days. The teams spilt the two previous contests in Minneapolis, with the Spurs winning 115-106 on Monday and Minnesota prevailing 134-122 on Wednesday. The Spurs have been one of the surprise teams in the early going, winning four of their six games including a 129-124 victory at home over Chicago on Friday. Keldon Johnson scored a season-high 33 points and canned a pair of free throws in the final seconds to lead San Antonio. Jakob Poeltl added 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, with Zach Collins tallying 16, Jeremy Sochan scoring 13, Josh Richardson hitting for 12 and Tre Jones and Blake Wesley contributing 11 and 10 points, respectively. |

10-30-22 | Knicks v. Cavs OVER 220 | 108-121 | Win | 100 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Donovan Mitchell spent portions of the summer thinking he was headed to the New York Knicks in a blockbuster trade before getting dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sept. 1. So far, Mitchell is off to a fast start with his new team and coming off their impressive win of the season, the Cavaliers attempt to keep the good times rolling Sunday night when they host the Knicks. At 4-1, Cleveland is off to its best start since opening the 2016-17 campaign with six straight wins and Mitchell has averaged 31 points per game so far. The Cavaliers head into their first meeting with the Knicks hitting 41.7 percent of their 3-pointers and are on a four-game winning streak after rallying for a 132-123 overtime win at Boston on Friday. Mitchell scored 41 points and has topped 30 in four of his first five games. His latest dynamic performance occurred as the Cavaliers overcame a 13-point halftime deficit and dominated overtime thanks to Caris LeVert. LeVert scored 11 of his 41 in overtime when the Cavs made five of their seven shots and outscored Boston 18-9. Cleveland also held the Celtics to 24 points and 33.3 percent shooting (8 of 24) combined in the fourth quarter and overtime. |

10-30-22 | Warriors -6 v. Pistons | Top | 114-128 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 49 m | Show |
The optimism surrounding the Detroit Pistons entering this season has been tempered by an early five-game losing streak. In order to end the slide, they'll have to defeat the defending champions. Detroit hosts Golden State on Sunday and will need to shore up its porous defense to have any chance of pulling an upset. The Pistons were defeated twice at home by Atlanta this week, getting blitzed by guard Trae Young and his teammates. Young scored 35 points in the Hawks' 118-113 victory on Wednesday, then erupted for 36 points and 12 assists in just three quarters on Friday as Atlanta rolled to a 136-112 triumph. Coach Dwane Casey questioned his team's defensive pride after the latest loss. "They shot almost 57 percent and that's just a sign of lack of commitment," he said. "We have to make up our minds that teams aren't going to walk in and do whatever they want to us." A big night for franchise player Cade Cunningham was wasted in the process. Despite foul trouble, Cunningham scored a career-best 35 points and also contributed nine rebounds and eight assists. However, his teammates shot 36.5 percent from the field. |

10-30-22 | Wizards v. Celtics UNDER 221.5 | Top | 94-112 | Win | 100 | 5 h 42 m | Show |
The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards have taken similar paths to 3-2 starts, each losing on Friday and having an overtime setback as part of their early-season schedules. The two teams will look to right the ship when they meet Sunday night at Boston. Double-digit leads in the first half were for naught in Boston's last two games, including Friday's 132-123 overtime setback to Cleveland. "We have to learn how to win again," Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla said. "Each season, coming into it, you're not guaranteed to win. So, it's valuing the ball, it's knowing tendencies and boxing out and rebounding. Just the fundamentals." The Celtics led by as many as 15 points on their way to a 75-point first half against the Cavaliers. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum each finished the game with 32 points. The Cleveland scoring duo of Caris LeVert and Donovan Mitchell had 41 points apiece, but Boston committed 19 turnovers and also allowed nine offensive rebounds in the setback. |

10-29-22 | Pacers v. Nets UNDER 240.5 | 125-116 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 58 m | Show
While the Brooklyn Nets are getting plenty from Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on offense, their defense is struggling to match the production of the star duo. Coming off three straight difficult defensive showings, the Nets hope they can correct some of their early deficiencies Saturday night when they host the Indiana Pacers for the first of two straight head-to-head matchups. The Nets will face the Pacers again on Monday before they host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday ahead of a stretch in which 10 of their next 12 are on the road. By the time they hit the road, the Nets hope to see some improvement from a defense that is allowing 121.6 points per game, the third-worst average in the NBA. Only the San Antonio Spurs (122 ppg) and Detroit Pistons (122.8 ppg) are worse. After splitting its first two games (a 22-point loss to the New Orleans Pelicans and a four-point win over the Toronto Raptors), Brooklyn struggled to contain the offenses of the Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks. The Nets fell apart in the second half in Memphis and Milwaukee, then came up short in a 129-125 overtime loss to Dallas on Thursday. Brooklyn allowed 41 points to Mavericks star Luka Doncic after giving up 43 to the Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo and 38 apiece to the Grizzlies' Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. |

10-28-22 | Bulls v. Spurs +5 | 124-129 | Win | 100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
DeMar DeRozan will be chasing a milestone in a familiar neighborhood when his Chicago Bulls visit the young and feisty San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Both teams have won three of their five games this season, with the host Bulls coming off a 124-109 win against Indiana on Wednesday and San Antonio returning home after a 134-122 loss in Minnesota on the same day. DeRozan had 17 points in Wednesday's win and drew to within seven points of becoming the 54th player in NBA/ABA history to reach the career 20,000-point plateau. He will likely reach that mark in San Antonio, where he was the go-to player for the Spurs for three seasons ending in 2021. Only six active players have reached the milestone. |

10-28-22 | Knicks v. Bucks OVER 223 | 108-119 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show
For the New York Knicks, a common refrain in their recent games against the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets is these are games they would have lost last season. After successfully executing down the stretch to extend their winning streak to three games, the Knicks put their recent experience at closing games to the test against the NBA's lone unbeaten team Friday night with a visit to the Milwaukee Bucks. New York is off to a 3-1 start after following up its surprising run to the fourth seed in the 72-game season with a disappointing 37-45 finish in coach Tom Thibodeau's second season. The lone loss was a three-point setback at Memphis in the season opener when the Knicks overcame a 19-point deficit before succumbing in overtime. After rolling to a 24-point win over Detroit in their home opener, the Knicks earned a 115-102 win over Orlando on Monday and a wild 134-131 overtime triumph over Charlotte on Wednesday. Against Orlando, the Knicks saw their lead sliced to six points with 4:25 left in the game before pulling away, and Wednesday their ability to close things out experienced a major challenge. New York held a seven-point lead with about seven minutes remaining, trailed by five with about two minutes left and gave up the tying basket with 38.6 seconds left. Then the Knicks got it done in overtime thanks to Jalen Brunson. |

10-28-22 | Cavs v. Celtics OVER 218 | 132-123 | Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show
The Boston Celtics return home from a three-game road swing on Friday to host a Cleveland Cavaliers squad that is riding a three-game winning streak. After opening the 2022-23 campaign with three consecutive wins of its own, Boston dropped a 120-102 decision to Chicago on Monday to cap the early-season road trip. The reigning Eastern Conference champion Celtics dispatched Miami and Orlando on back-to-back nights to open the stretch, 111-104 and 126-120. Friday marks Boston's first home game since a 126-117 defeat of Philadelphia on Oct. 18. Although a small sample size of just four games, this season's Celtics defense is well behind the league-best yield the 2021-22 squad rode to the NBA Finals. Boston held opponents to 104.5 points per game in 2021-22 and NBA-lows of 33.9 percent shooting from 3-point range and 43.3 percent shooting from the floor overall. Thus far into 2022-23, Celtics' opponents are scoring 115.2 points per game on 40.0 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point arc and 47.7 shooting from the field overall. Some of Boston's initial defensive woes can be attributed to adjustments with personnel changes. |

10-28-22 | Hornets v. Magic OVER 220 | 93-113 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 46 m | Show
Rookie Paolo Banchero is off to a sizzling start to the season. His team, on the other hand, isn't so hot. Banchero and the Orlando Magic continue their quest for their first victory of the campaign on Friday night when they host the Charlotte Hornets. Banchero finished with 29 points on Wednesday to become the third No. 1 overall pick in NBA history to score at least 20 points in his first five games. Hall of Famers Elvin Hayes (10 games, 1968-69) and Oscar Robertson (six games, 1960-61) are the others. Banchero added eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal in what ended up being the Magic's fifth loss in as many games. |

10-27-22 | Heat v. Warriors UNDER 227.5 | 110-123 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 13 m | Show
Klay Thompson will get an opportunity to rebound from a rare embarrassing moment when the Golden State Warriors entertain the Miami Heat in San Francisco on Thursday night. Irritated by a poor shooting night, and like many teammates, a disparity in foul calls, Thompson came away the loser in a verbal encounter with Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker in the third quarter of the Warriors' road game on Tuesday. Thompson and Booker were nailed with technical fouls for their up-close-and-personal spat. Things appeared to be cooling down before Thompson didn't like something he heard from Mikal Bridges and rejoined an otherwise tame midcourt fray, drawing a second -- and ejection-prompting -- "T." The Suns went on to win the game handily, 134-105, after which Golden State standout Stephen Curry was surprisingly upbeat despite being held under 30 points for the first time this season. |

10-27-22 | Mavs v. Nets +3 | 129-125 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 46 m | Show
When the Dallas Mavericks visited the Brooklyn Nets on March 16, they constantly frustrated Kevin Durant with double teams and then escaped with a two-point win on a game-winning 3-pointer by Spencer Dinwiddie against his former team. The Nets are off to a frustrating start after an eventful summer, and the Mavericks will attempt to make things difficult for them again when the teams get together Thursday night in New York. In the previous meeting, Dallas held Durant to 23 points and forced him to miss 12 of 20 shots. The Mavericks emerged with a 113-111 win when Dinwiddie hit the game-winning 3-pointer in front of Brooklyn's bench. |

10-25-22 | Mavs v. Pelicans +6 | 111-113 | Win | 100 | 5 h 52 m | Show
The New Orleans Pelicans lost their top two players as well as their home opener on Sunday night. On Monday, they announced that one -- All-Star forward Brandon Ingram -- has entered the concussion protocol. There was no timetable announced for Ingram's return. Zion Williamson (bruised hip, sore back) has been ruled out for Tuesday night, when the Pelicans host the Dallas Mavericks. "They're a little banged up," coach Willie Green said after practice Monday. The same is true of starting forward Herbert Jones, who has a sore knee and fouled out of Sunday's 122-121 overtime loss to the Jazz. Jones has also been ruled out against the Mavs. |

10-25-22 | Pistons +6 v. Wizards | 99-120 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 36 m | Show
Each game is a learning experience for the youthful Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards, who meet in the nation's capital on Tuesday night. The first week of the season has been a mixed bag, but both have a reason for optimism. Detroit has lost two games following its season-opening win over the Orlando Magic, while Washington began with two successive wins before losing 117-107 in overtime to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The Pistons boast an impressive core of young players led by second-year point guard Cade Cunningham, who is averaging 18.3 points and seven assists. Cunningham led the Pistons with 22 points in a 124-115 loss to Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Detroit led by 14 points in the first quarter but struggled defensively in the second half. The defense has been an early concern for the Pistons, who have allowed an average of 121 points in their first three games. |

After their season-opening loss to the Pelicans, the Nets are now 13-18 (.419) since the beginning of last season against Western Conference opponents. Memphis, meanwhile, is 21-10 (.677) against Eastern Conference teams, which is the second-best non-conference record in that time, behind only Phoenix (25-5, .833).

10-24-22 | Nets v. Grizzlies -111 | Top | 124-134 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show |
The early returns have been promising for Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets, who head out on the road for the first time this season to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. After dropping their season opener to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Nets bounced back with a 109-105 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday. In just his second game since June 2021, Simmons flashed the skills that made him a three-time All-Star and two-time all-defensive player. After struggling against New Orleans, Simmons finished with six points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in 32 minutes against Toronto. The 6-foot-10 point guard also blocked two shots. |

10-24-22 | Raptors v. Heat OVER 214.5 | 98-90 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 20 m | Show
Scottie Barnes, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, may be unavailable to play on Monday night when his Toronto Raptors visit the Miami Heat. Barnes suffered a right ankle sprain on Saturday night when the Heat beat the Raptors 112-109. He is listed as questionable. Monday night will be a rematch for these two teams after a scuffle during Saturday's game between Toronto's Christian Koloko and Miami's Caleb Martin. Both players were ejected in a sequence that started when Martin was trying to box out Koloko. Martin and teammate Nikola Jovic, who left the bench and joined the fracas, were each suspended one game for their roles and will sit out Monday's rematch. Koloko was not suspended but received a $15,000 fine for his actions. |

10-24-22 | Pacers v. 76ers UNDER 229 | 106-120 | Win | 100 | 3 h 44 m | Show
Through three games, the Philadelphia 76ers have far more questions than answers. That happens with an 0-3 start. Following season-opening losses to the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs, the Sixers suddenly face an interesting test when they host the Indiana Pacers on Monday. The Sixers, who entered the season with high expectations, were stunned 114-105 by the rebuilding Spurs on Saturday. |

10-23-22 | Kings +10 v. Warriors | 125-130 | Win | 100 | 8 h 2 m | Show
Mike Brown will get to take a bow in front of his former fans Sunday night when the ex-assistant coach for the NBA title-winning Golden State Warriors leads his new team, the Sacramento Kings, into San Francisco to duel the reigning champs. Brown spent the past six seasons as Steve Kerr's chief assistant, helping guide Golden State to championships in 2017 and 2018 before last season's NBA Finals triumph over the Boston Celtics. Brown hadn't even experienced the Warriors' championship parade in June before he was named head coach of the Kings, who had fired Luke Walton early in the season and then did not retain interim replacement Alvin Gentry after the club completed its 16th straight season without a playoff berth. The Kings have yet to win for Brown, dropping tight decisions at home to the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers. The latter occurred on Saturday night, 111-109. Brown, who previously served as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, knew it wouldn't be easy reversing the fortunes of Northern California's "other" team. So he spent much of his summer trying to connect with Sacramento's key players, including De'Aaron Fox. |

10-21-22 | Suns v. Blazers OVER 224 | 111-113 | Push | 0 | 7 h 19 m | Show
The Phoenix Suns opened the season with a stunning comeback victory against the team that eliminated them from last season's playoffs. Now the Suns shoot to make it two straight wins on Friday night when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers, who also won their opener. Phoenix trailed the Dallas Mavericks by 22 points in the third quarter on Wednesday before frantically charging back for a 107-105 home triumph. The game had makings of a continuation of last season's Western Conference semifinals when the Mavericks won the final two games by an average of 30 points to send the Suns home early. But this time, Phoenix got off the mat and newcomer Damion Lee made a tough 10-foot fallaway with 9.7 seconds left to give the Suns the victory. |

10-21-22 | Pistons v. Knicks -7 | Top | 106-130 | Win | 100 | 5 h 9 m | Show |
For Detroit Pistons coach Dwane Casey, a comeback from a double-digit deficit Wednesday provided some much-needed optimism in the midst of an extended rebuild. For the New York Knicks, their attempt to overcome a double-digit deficit offered another hard-earned lesson about the narrow margins between happiness and disappointment under coach Tom Thibodeau. The Pistons will look to build off their recent rally on Friday night when they visit New York for the Knicks' home opener. Both teams were off Thursday after back-and-forth season openers Wednesday night. The Pistons outlasted the visiting Orlando Magic, 113-109, while the Knicks fell to the host Memphis Grizzlies, 115-112, in overtime. The Pistons, who finished with the third-worst record (23-59) in the NBA last season while missing the playoffs for the third straight time and the 11th time in 13 years, got off to a slow start Wednesday, when the Magic raced out to a 21-6 lead. But the Pistons led 57-55 at the half and led by as many as 12 in the third quarter before fending off a comeback by the Magic, who tied the game at 99-99 with 5:17 left. Detroit scored the next seven points and finally finished off Orlando when Isaiah Stewart drained a 3-pointer with 11.6 seconds remaining to extend the lead to 111-107. |

10-21-22 | Bulls v. Wizards OVER 221.5 | 100-102 | Loss | -115 | 4 h 23 m | Show
Two teams that opened with impressive road wins move on to the nation's capital when the Chicago Bulls visit the Washington Wizards on Friday night. DeMar DeRozan exploded for 37 points while Nikola Vucevic put up a 15-point, 17-rebound double-double as the Bulls traveled to Miami and surprised the defending Eastern Conference regular-season champs 116-108 on Wednesday. While Chicago was sampling the Southeast Division, the Wizards ventured into Central Division territory and took care of business against the Indiana Pacers, riding 23 points from Bradley Beal and 22 from Kyle Kuzma to a 114-107 triumph. The fast start is nothing new to either team. The Bulls won their first four games en route to a 26-10 start last season, while the Wizards used a 2-0 season debut as a springboard to a 10-3 start. Neither team had high expectations opening the new campaign. The Bulls are already down two key players, with Zach LaVine being eased into the season after suffering a left-knee injury last January while Lonzo Ball continues to struggle with the after-effects of a meniscus tear in his left knee. Neither was needed in the opener. Ayo Dosunmu and Alex Caruso jumped into the starting lineup with a combined 23 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and four steals, while Goran Dragic (12 points) and Coby White (10) provided backcourt depth. Coincidentally, the trip to Washington, D.C., for Dosunmu comes four days after he shared a Chicago stage with former president Barack Obama at an Obama Foundation event for high-schoolers. |

10-20-22 | Clippers v. Lakers UNDER 225.5 | 103-97 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Kawhi Leonard plays in a game that matters for the first time in 16 months when the Los Angeles Clippers battle the host Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. It will be the season debut for the Clippers. The Lakers opened with a 123-109 road loss against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. The Clippers went 4-0 against the Lakers last season and have won the past seven meetings. Even though LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be on the floor for the Lakers, the presence of Leonard will be the focal point of the latest matchup between the crosstown rivals. Leonard tore his right ACL on June 14, 2021 during Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz. He underwent surgery a month later and missed the 2021-22 campaign. Leonard recently addressed the long period of rehabbing the knee. |

10-19-22 | Nuggets v. Jazz UNDER 225.5 | 102-123 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show
When the visiting Denver Nuggets meet the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, it will not just be a game between teams on opposite sides of the Rocky Mountains. The 2022-23 season opener for both will be a matchup of teams on opposite ends of the expectations spectrum. The Nuggets are projected to contend for an NBA championship next spring. Two talented starters - Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. - are back from injuries and will join a talented cast led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. |
|||||||
10-19-22 | Hornets +1 v. Spurs | 129-102 | Win | 100 | 6 h 57 m | Show
The Charlotte Hornets and host San Antonio Spurs will be carrying differing expectations when they square off in the season opener on Wednesday. There is a lot of similarity between the two teams, as both are in rebuilding mode. Both teams made the conference play-in tournament as the 10th seed, then lost in the first game, in each of the past two seasons. Charlotte brought back veteran coach Steve Clifford in the offseason to steer its combination of youthful players and proven veterans. Clifford, who was previously at Charlotte's helm from 2013-14 to 2017-18, will look to help the Hornets build a defensive presence that can spark a deep postseason run. The Hornets are led by all-star point guard LaMelo Ball, who averaged 20.1 points, 7.6 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game last year in his second season. Ball is expected to miss Wednesday's game with a sprained left ankle after getting injured in the Hornets' preseason loss to the Washington Wizards on Oct. 10. Charlotte will go big on Wednesday with a starting five of forwards Kelly Oubre Jr., Gordon Hayward and P.J. Washington, center Mason Plumlee and point guard Terry Rozier in Ball's stead. Rozier averaged 19.3 points per game in 2021-22. |

10-19-22 | Knicks v. Grizzlies -4 | 112-115 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 37 m | Show
The last decade has been a fortuitous one for long-suffering NBA teams, with four franchises ending lengthy championship droughts. On Wednesday night, the Memphis Grizzlies will open a run toward a possible first championship in team history against the visiting New York Knicks, who have, perhaps, the NBA's most infamous title drought of all. The Grizzlies tied their franchise record for wins last season, when they went 56-26 and earned the second seed in the Western Conference playoffs before falling to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors in the second round. The Knicks, who reached the playoffs for the first time in seven seasons in 2020-21, struggled to build on that momentum last season and finished 37-45. They were six games out of 10th place in the Eastern Conference and the final spot in the play-in tournament. With an exciting core of home-grown players, the Grizzlies open the season as a popular pick to advance deep into the playoffs next spring. Memphis, led by All-Star point guard Ja Morant, averaged 115.6 points per game last season, second-most in the NBA. Morant has loads of optimism after he missed 25 games during the regular season due to various injuries before he missed the final three games of the playoff series against the Warriors due to a bone bruise in his right knee. An All-Star for the first time last season, Morant said his goal is to not only lead the Grizzlies to the NBA Finals for the first time since the franchise was founded in Vancouver in 1995 but to win it all. The Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors all ended decades-long title droughts since the spring of 2015. |

10-19-22 | Wizards v. Pacers UNDER 227.5 | 114-107 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show
After they both missed the playoffs last season and languished near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, the Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards will start the climb back to respectability when they meet Wednesday night in a 2022-23 season opener at Indianapolis. Washington will begin its season looking to rebound from a disappointing 12th-place finish in the East a season ago. The Wizards opened the 2021-22 season 11-5 but went just 24-42 the rest of the way. One of the Wizards' offseason moves, made with the aim of returning to the postseason, was trading guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith to Denver for Monte Morris and Will Barton. Morris posted career-best averages of 12.6 points and 4.4 assists per game a season ago while continuing to limit turnovers. He brings a more traditional point-guard presence for the Wizards to pair with standout scorer Bradley Beal in the backcourt. A three-time All-Star, Beal finished second in the NBA in scoring at 31.3 points per game during the 2020-21 season but saw his average dip to 23.2 in 2021-22, while playing in just 40 games because of a wrist injury. |
|||||||
10-18-22 | Lakers v. Warriors UNDER 225.5 | Top | 109-123 | Loss | -110 | 24 h 33 m | Show |
The defending champion Golden State Warriors tip off their bid to repeat Tuesday night against an opponent that knows a little about going back-to-back when they host the Los Angeles Lakers in a nationally televised NBA opener. The Warriors had the third-best record in the Western Conference in the regular season before veterans Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala led a 16-6 playoff run to their fourth title in eight years. Curry earned Western Conference Finals and NBA Finals Most Valuable Player honors, capping a season in which he overtook Ray Allen for the all-time lead in 3-pointers. The Warriors, who put together back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018, will begin their quest for five titles in nine years against the same opponent they saw on Opening Night a year ago. Last time, the game was played in Los Angeles, where Golden State ignited an 18-2 start to the season with a 121-114 victory. |
|||||||
10-08-22 | Hawks v. Bucks OVER 223 | Top | 118-109 | Win | 100 | 1 h 19 m | Show |
The first of two preseason games against the Milwaukee Bucks could not have gone any better for the Atlanta Hawks. All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray fit right in with his new teammates, and the team defense was unrecognizable compared to last year. Of course, it was just one preseason game. So we should be careful about counting our chickens before they hatch. Especially given the fact that the Bucks took a different approach to the exhibition game compared to the Hawks. For example, their starting unit averaged 22 minutes. |
|||||||
10-04-22 | Jazz +1 v. Blazers | 118-101 | Win | 100 | 1 h 33 m | Show
Justise Winslow will start at small forward as the Portland Trail Blazers host the Utah Jazz this evening. Coach Chauncey Billups has previously highlighted his plan to rotate through potential starting small forward through the preseason, with Josh Hart getting the nod against the Los Angeles Clippers last night. ÂBillups has also hinted at Nassir Little and potentially Gary Payton II also starting at the three, however, the latter is still recovering from a core muscle complaint. |
|||||||
05-27-22 | Heat v. Celtics OVER 201 | Top | 111-103 | Win | 100 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
The over is 5-2 in their last 7 meetings in Boston and 10-4 in their last 14 overall. The over has cashed 9 of 12 when the Heat play teams with winning records. |
|||||||
05-15-22 | Mavs v. Suns -6.5 | Top | 123-90 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
The Mavericks are just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 meetings in Phoenix and 7-18 ATS overall. The Suns are 11-3 ATS in their last 13 conference quarterfinals match-ups. |
|||||||
05-12-22 | Heat v. 76ers OVER 207 | 99-90 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 2 m | Show
The over has cashed 5 of 7 in Philadelphia and with a game that could put the Sixers out it could turn into a foul fest if you're on the Heat. This number is too low. |
|||||||
05-11-22 | Warriors -170 v. Grizzlies | Top | 95-134 | Loss | -170 | 12 h 2 m | Show |
Although Golden State has had their problems in Memphis, the spot of being an underdog has never been good to Memphis after failing to cover 15 of their last 22. I'm going to lay a little more here to be safe but the Warriors win a close game here. |
|||||||
05-06-22 | Heat -150 v. 76ers | 79-99 | Loss | -150 | 10 h 53 m | Show
Miami has the Sixers number, winning 8 of their 11 match-ups and have covered 11 of their last 14 games overall. We'll take the ML here. |
|||||||
05-04-22 | Mavs v. Suns -6 | 109-129 | Win | 100 | 13 h 3 m | Show
Dallas is just 8-22 ATS in their last 30 meetings and just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 in Phoenix. The Suns are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 conference semifinal games. |
|||||||
05-01-22 | Warriors -130 v. Grizzlies | Top | 117-116 | Win | 100 | 5 h 59 m | Show |
I suggest getting getting on this right now because you can bet that the Warriors money will start coming in late. Memphis has been good against the Warriors at home , but the Warriors have covered 8 of their last 11 game and 6 of 7 when coming off 3 or more days rest. |
|||||||
04-26-22 | Hawks v. Heat -7.5 | Top | 94-97 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
Atlanta has dropped 4 straight covers in Miami and four of five overall. Atlanta is just 8-20 ATS vs teams who are playing .600 ball or better. Miami has covered 9 of their last 11. |
|||||||
04-25-22 | Jazz v. Mavs -2.5 | Top | 77-102 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show |
The Jazz have now failed to cover 8 of the last 9 meetings against Dallas and 4 of 5 in Dallas. They are also 1-9 ATS playing on one days rest and 6-19-1 ATS on the road. I'm not going all in with Dallas minus the points but I am going to lay the moneyline price here because I think it's going to be close. |
|||||||
04-24-22 | Heat -120 v. Hawks | 110-86 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show
I don't usually go moneyline on NBA games, but I have a feeling that this one is going to come down the final seconds. The Heat are now 39-19 ATS in playoff games as a favorite. |
|||||||
04-23-22 | Mavs v. Jazz OVER 212 | Top | 99-100 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
The public is all over the under in this one and I think they're right. It will be very important to get the right number, but the under is 43-20 in the Mav's last 63 games as a dog. The under is 20-8-1 when playing on one days rest. |
|||||||
04-22-22 | Heat v. Hawks UNDER 222 | Top | 110-111 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Two big trends going in this one. First, the under is 31-12 when the Heat play a team with a winning SU record and the Heat really seem to clamp down in the postseason with unders cashing 15 of their last 20 quarterfinal playoff games. |
|||||||
04-20-22 | 76ers -1.5 v. Raptors | Top | 104-101 | Win | 100 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
Philadelphia may not have the bets track record in Toronto, but the Raptors have failed to cover in four straight and 5 of 6 against teams with a winning percentage of .600 or more. |
|||||||
04-18-22 | Raptors v. 76ers OVER 217 | 97-112 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 43 m | Show
The over in this series has cashed 4 of 5 games, while the Raptors have shown that they are more than capable of keeping high scoring trends intact. 242 points in game one, I don't see how we get all the way down to 217 in this one. |
|||||||
04-17-22 | Pelicans v. Suns OVER 223.5 | 99-110 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 9 m | Show
The over has cashed five straight times vs a team with a winning percentage over .600 and 9 of their last 12 meetings. |
|||||||
04-17-22 | Nets +4.5 v. Celtics | 114-115 | Win | 100 | 5 h 39 m | Show
The Celtics have had a terrifc season but the Nets are a team that has had the Nets number, covering 13 of their last 19 meetings. The Nets are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. |
|||||||
04-16-22 | Wolves v. Grizzlies OVER 236 | 130-117 | Win | 100 | 5 h 46 m | Show
The over is on a 21-8 run the game after a SU Timberwolves win. While Memphis is 11-1 ATS in their last 12 quarterfinal games. |
|||||||
04-10-22 | Spurs +9.5 v. Mavs | 120-130 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 0 m | Show
The Spurs are 5-2 in their last 7 games in Dallas, and have covered 6 straight games. The Spurs have been a reliable cover against the better home teas in the league. 10-3 ATS against teams with a home win percentage of .600 or better. |
|||||||
04-09-22 | Pelicans +6.5 v. Grizzlies | 114-141 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 50 m | Show
The Peilicans are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 road games. I think 6.5 is too many points. |
|||||||
04-08-22 | Cavs +8.5 v. Nets | Top | 107-118 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
It's really hard to lay this many points with a team that's 4-24ATS as a home favorite and 5-25-1 ATS in their last 31 home games.  |
|||||||
04-07-22 | Grizzlies v. Nuggets UNDER 233 | 109-122 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show
I've watched this number all morning, hoping it would move up but it hasn't budged. I still think it's too high for my liking, especially with 5 of their last 7 meetings cashing unders. |
|||||||
04-06-22 | Nets v. Knicks +5.5 | 110-98 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Strangely enough, the Knicks have been really good underdog play. Over their last 12 games, New York has covered 9 of those and 8 of 11 on 2 days rest. Brooklyn has failed to cover 5 straight games and 36 of 53 as a favorite. |
|||||||
04-05-22 | Bucks v. Bulls +5.5 | 127-106 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 31 m | Show
The Buck have owned this series but have not been very reliable on the road against the better teams in the league of late. Chicago has been a terrific bet at home, covering 12 of their last 17 games. |
|||||||
04-03-22 | 76ers v. Cavs +5 | 112-108 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show
The 76ers are on 2-10-1 ATS run after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game, and have dropped 5 straight after a ATS win. Meanwhile, we'll continue to ride the Cavs 25-9-2 ATS record following an ATS win. |
|||||||
04-03-22 | Wizards v. Celtics UNDER 223 | 102-144 | Loss | -109 | 3 h 40 m | Show
The under has cashed 7 of 8 because the Celtics have typically smothered the Wizards, especially in Boston. This will be no different as the Celtics choke out the Wizards offense. |
|||||||
04-02-22 | Heat v. Bulls +2.5 | 127-109 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show
Miami hs had some success against the Bulls but are just 1-8 ATS the game after scoring a 100 points and and just 1-6 in their last 7 as a favorite. The Bulls have covered 12 of their last 16 games at home. |
|||||||
04-02-22 | Hornets v. 76ers OVER 226.5 | Top | 114-144 | Win | 100 | 2 h 54 m | Show |
The over in this series is 7-2-1 in their last 10 meetings, 7-2-1 when the Hornets face a team with a winning SU record. The over is 5-1 in the Sixers last 6 games playing on one days rest. |
|||||||
04-01-22 | Kings v. Rockets UNDER 235 | 122-117 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 14 m | Show
The Kings are an over machine but I think the books have adjusted too much for me in what should be a sleepy game. The Kings have played some bad basketball on the road against bad teams, while the Rockets have cashed 6 under tickets in their last 8 games. |
