03-29-23 | Kings v. Blazers +14 | 120-80 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 14 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings came up empty in their initial attempt to clinch their first playoff berth since 2006. The Kings will take another shot to end the longest postseason drought in professional sports when they visit the downtrodden Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. Sacramento (45-30) is on the cusp of ending that ugly 16-season drought but was unable to seal the deal Monday night when it fell 119-115 to the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. "Yeah, I mean guys wanted to clinch a playoff spot at home and wanted to share it with our fans," All-Star point guard De'Aaron Fox said after the setback. "But at the end of the day, regardless of where we do it at, I think people are going to appreciate it and people are going to love it." Clinching against Portland (32-43) feels like a formality as this is the first of back-to-back games versus the Trail Blazers. There's also the fact that Portland has dropped nine of its past 10 games and will be without star guard Damian Lillard (calf), who was shut down for the season, according to a report by Bleacher Report. Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 7.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 58 games this season. Kings forward Harrison Barnes would have liked to see the home fans celebrate the milestone, but he sees the bigger picture too. |

03-29-23 | Wolves v. Suns -4.5 | 100-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
All signs are pointing upward for the Phoenix Suns, who reportedly will have star Kevin Durant back in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. Acquired from the Brooklyn Nets at last month's trade deadline, Durant played three road games before suffering a sprained left ankle during pregame warmups on March 8. Phoenix (40-35) has gone 4-6 with Durant out of the lineup but still holds the fourth spot in the Western Conference playoff race. Suns fans have been waiting patiently for the two-time Finals MVP to make his home debut. "I always use the term 'checking the boxes,'" Suns coach Monty Williams said of Durant's comeback journey. "You have to get the pain and swelling out and all of that and then you progress onto the floor with shots. And I've seen him go from cardio to shooting to be able to get up and down a little bit and get himself prepared to go to the next level." Adding Durant to the mix comes at a good time, as the Suns appear to be trending in the right direction. Phoenix won its second straight game on Monday, beating the Utah Jazz 117-103. |

03-29-23 | Clippers +4 v. Grizzlies | 141-132 | Win | 100 | 6 h 23 m | Show
The Memphis Grizzlies continue to show they can succeed with or without star guard Ja Morant. Their winning streak is at seven games in advance of a two-game visit from the Los Angeles Clippers starting Wednesday. Morant missed Memphis' 113-108 home victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday because of right thigh soreness, with the absence characterized as more of a precaution during the first game of a back-to-back set. The Grizzlies (48-27) started their current winning streak with Morant away on a self-imposed sabbatical that was changed to a league-mandated suspension as a result of questionable behavior during a live video from a nightclub. Morant missed nine games -- the first on March 5, when the Grizzlies absorbed a 135-129 defeat to the Clippers in Los Angeles. Paul George scored 42 points for the Clippers in that game, but he won't be available for this one -- he is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a right knee injury. Without being able to lean on Morant on Tuesday, Memphis received 31 points from Desmond Bane and a career-high 20 from Xavier Tillman. |

03-29-23 | Jazz v. Spurs UNDER 234.5 | 128-117 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 20 m | Show
The Utah Jazz still have a chance to earn a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament, but Wednesday's road game with the struggling San Antonio Spurs has become a near-must-win situation. The Jazz (35-40) are in 12th place in the West, 1 1/2 games behind the Dallas Mavericks and two games in arrears of ninth-place Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder with seven games to play in the regular season. Utah has dropped four straight to fall out of the play-in bracket and can ill afford to lose to San Antonio (19-56), which has been long eliminated from postseason consideration. After playing the Spurs, Utah's final six games are against teams that have either clinched a playoff berth or are in position to do so. Wednesday's game begins a three-game road trip for the Jazz that will be followed by stops in Boston and Brooklyn. Utah's most recent game was a 117-103 setback at home to Phoenix on Monday. The Jazz came back from a double-digit deficit to take the lead late in the third quarter before falling apart in the fourth, when they were outscored 33-22. Lauri Markkanen had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead Utah on Monday, with Walker Kessler adding 18 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks, Talen Horton-Tucker hitting for 16 points and Kelly Olynyk scoring 10. |

03-29-23 | Pistons v. Thunder -11 | 106-107 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 18 m | Show
With just six games left and clinging to a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament, the Oklahoma City Thunder can't afford to let another opportunity go to waste. A night after losing to the Charlotte Hornets, the Thunder oppose the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday in Oklahoma City. Even though his team is battling for its first playoff appearance since 2020, Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault said the possibility wouldn't derail the organization's development plan. "I think if it is an outcome that's downstream of our process and the way that we're trying to do things, it would be great, because it would be a marker along the way," Daigneault said. "Not so important that it's gonna distract us from our way of doing things. "We need to bet on that day over day over day. We've done that for two or three years. That's what's put us in a position to compete for the play-in, so for us to abandon that at this point would be hasty." The Thunder (37-39) could be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the second consecutive game. The All-Star sprained his left ankle on Sunday in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Oklahoma City did get Aleksej Pokusevski back for Tuesday's game. The third-year forward had missed 41 games with a non-displaced fracture in his left leg. Pokusevski was scoreless in nearly 10 minutes during the Thunder's 137-134 loss to the Hornets. |

03-29-23 | Lakers v. Bulls OVER 227 | Top | 121-110 | Win | 100 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
The jumbled state of the Western Conference postseason picture ultimately cleared LeBron James' outlook about returning to the Los Angeles Lakers for the stretch run. "To hell with the play-in -- we actually can be a top-(six) seed," James said. "That definitely changed my mindset on me coming back and trying to be a part of this." On Sunday, James came back from a 13-game absence, scoring a team-high 19 points in his first action since recovering from a tendon injury in his right foot. While it ultimately wasn't enough in the Lakers' 118-108 home loss to Chicago, teammates figure James will be primed for more when Los Angeles visits the Bulls on Wednesday night. "I just know coming off of injury, you're kind of thinking about it, testing it out," Lakers forward Anthony Davis said. "But he looked well on the floor, played well, had a block. ... I'm pretty sure Wednesday, he'll be himself." Sunday's defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for the Lakers (37-38), who entered Tuesday in ninth place in the West. Before play Tuesday, all that separated the conference's sixth-place team and 10th-place team was 1 1/2 games. |

03-29-23 | Heat v. Knicks -4 | 92-101 | Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show
Tom Thibodeau, the eternally straitlaced coach of the Knicks, offered a smile with his usual bottom-line analysis following New York's victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. "You guys know what I always say about winning," Thibodeau said. "Winning is always way more fun than fun is fun." On Wednesday night, either the Knicks or the Miami Heat will have a lot of fun -- and make the other team miserable in the process. The Knicks and Heat will each be looking to make their path to a top-six finish in the Eastern Conference easier when New York hosts Miami in the final regular-season meeting between the longtime rivals. The Knicks were off Tuesday after cruising to a 137-115 victory over the visiting Rockets on Monday night. The Heat will be completing a back-to-back road set after falling 106-92 to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. New York (43-33) snapped a three-game losing streak and remains in fifth place in the East, 2 1/2 games ahead of the sixth-place Brooklyn Nets (40-35) and three games ahead of the Heat (40-36). The top six teams in each conference earn a playoff berth while the seventh- through 10th-place clubs compete in a play-in tournament to determine the final two seeds. Another win on Wednesday would further solidify the Knicks' playoff positioning by giving them the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Heat. New York leads the season series 2-1, though Miami earned a 127-120 win in the recent meeting in Florida on March 22. |
|||||||
03-29-23 | Rockets v. Nets OVER 229 | 114-123 | Win | 100 | 6 h 58 m | Show
On Monday, the Rockets were the cure for what was ailing the New York Knicks, who blew out of their recent rough patch by blowing out Houston. The scuffling Brooklyn Nets are also looking for a similar outcome Wednesday night when they host the worst team in the Western Conference. Brooklyn (40-35) could take the floor back in the play-in tournament, if the Miami Heat lose in Toronto on Tuesday. The Nets also will attempt to stop a four-game home losing streak. Brooklyn is in this position because it was unable to sustain a hot streak earlier this month. The Nets won five of six -- including a rout in Houston -- from March 3-12 but are 1-6 in their past seven games. The Nets have faced double-digit deficits in each of those games, including Sunday when they were outplayed for the final 30-plus minutes of a 119-106 loss in Orlando. That loss came on the second night of a back-to-back; Brooklyn stormed back from a 14-point deficit in the first half for a dominating 129-100 win in Miami on Saturday. |

03-29-23 | Mavs v. 76ers -4 | Top | 108-116 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
Tom Thibodeau, the eternally straitlaced coach of the Knicks, offered a smile with his usual bottom-line analysis following New York's victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. 03-28-23 | Hornets v. Thunder -9.5 | Top | 137-134 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
Returning home after splitting a four-game West Coast road trip, the Oklahoma City Thunder face a critical two-game homestand in their pursuit of a playoff spot in the crowded Western Conference race. The Thunder will host the bottom two teams in the Eastern Conference in back-to-back games, beginning with Tuesday's visit from the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets have helped the Thunder's cause over the last two games, knocking off Dallas twice to help lift Oklahoma City ahead of the Mavericks for the 10th spot in the Western Conference. The Thunder have been the outmanned but plucky underdog over the last few seasons as they've undergone a major rebuild. Now, Oklahoma City finds itself on the other side of things as it looks to knock off some teams that aren't in serious contention for a playoff spot down the stretch. The Thunder held off the Trail Blazers, 118-112, on Sunday in Portland to snap a two-game losing streak and remain in a play-in spot in the Western Conference. Oklahoma City will face the Detroit Pistons following its meeting with Charlotte, and a sweep of the two-game set would put the Thunder (37-38) above .500 for the first time since early November. |
|||||||
03-28-23 | Heat v. Raptors -4 | 92-106 | Win | 100 | 5 h 34 m | Show
The Toronto Raptors will try to reach the .500 mark for the first time since Dec. 9 Tuesday night when they close a four-game homestand against the Miami Heat. The Raptors (37-38) won their second game in a row Sunday 114-104 over the Washington Wizards. This will be the Raptors' sixth attempt to reach .500 since they were 13-13. In the Heat (40-35), the Raptors will be facing a team that is above .500 for the first time on the homestand. Miami is coming off an embarrassing 129-100 home loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. Toronto leads the season series 2-1 over Miami. The teams have not played since Nov. 16 when O.G. Anunoby scored 32 points in the Raptors' 112-104 home victory. In winning for the fifth time in the past seven games on Sunday, Toronto had 29 points from Anunoby, 28 from Fred VanVleet and 19 points and 11 rebounds from Pascal Siakam. After missing two games with a wrist injury, Scottie Barnes scored 13 points. The Raptors are ninth in the Eastern Conference going into Monday and have a good hold on a play-in spot. |
|||||||
03-27-23 | Bulls +4.5 v. Clippers | Top | 112-124 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 45 m | Show |
Coming off one of their most embarrassing defeats of the season, the Los Angeles Clippers will try to maintain their grasp on a top-six spot in the Western Conference with a home matchup Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. The Clippers (39-36) were trounced at home 131-110 by the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. The setback left Los Angeles with losses in three of its last five games, and seven games remain in the regular season. The Clippers don't expect Paul George (knee) to return before the end of the regular season, with fellow star Kawhi Leonard held to 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting from the field against the Pelicans. He missed all six of his attempts from 3-point range. Leonard left the game with a facial contusion. |
|||||||
03-27-23 | Pelicans -10.5 v. Blazers | 124-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 35 m | Show
Trey Murphy III will attempt to follow up a contest in which he was hotter than lava when the streaking New Orleans Pelicans visit the struggling Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night. Murphy buried a career-best 10 3-pointers in just 12 attempts while scoring 32 points in Saturday's 131-110 rout of the host Los Angeles Clippers. Brandon Ingram also scored 32 as the Pelicans won their fourth consecutive game. The sight of the Trail Blazers will be pleasing to Murphy, who scored a career-best 41 points and made a then-career-high nine 3-pointers in New Orleans' 127-110 home win over Portland on March 12. He was 13 of 20 overall from the field. "I just see his confidence going up and up," Ingram said after the win in Los Angeles. "He's the best shooter on the team." Murphy is 37 of 70 (52.9 percent) from 3-point range during the past seven games for New Orleans (37-37), which resides in eighth place in the Western Conference. The Pelicans are one game out of a top-six playoff berth with eight games remaining. |
|||||||
03-27-23 | Suns v. Jazz UNDER 234.5 | 117-103 | Win | 100 | 11 h 30 m | Show
The Utah Jazz (35-39) and Phoenix Suns (39-35) have a couple of things in common heading into the home stretch of the season. Both teams are still in the thick of it when it comes to the postseason. And both are trying to make do without key players. And like the Suns did Saturday night against Philadelphia, the Jazz come into Monday's matchup in Salt Lake City hoping to break a three-game losing streak. Utah came close to finding a way to win in Sacramento on Saturday despite missing its three leading scorers: Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton. Rookie Walker Kessler had one of the best games in franchise history for a first-year player, leading the comeback. Kessler scored 31 points on 14-of-16 shooting and hauled in 11 rebounds against Sacramento, helping Utah pull within striking distance in the fourth quarter before the Kings finished them off. Rookie Ochai Agbaji added 20 points and Jarrell Brantley had 13 for the relentless Jazz. |
|||||||
03-27-23 | Rockets v. Knicks -12.5 | Top | 115-137 | Win | 100 | 10 h 8 m | Show |
In the midst of a three-day break between games that forward RJ Barrett described as "much needed," the New York Knicks turned their focus to a critical stretch run that will include matchups against a pair of opponents bracketing them in the standings. But before the Knicks (42-33) can turn their attention to the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, both of whom they will face later this week, they will host the Houston Rockets on Monday in their first action since a 111-106 road loss to the Orlando Magic on Thursday, a game that wrapped up a stretch of 11 games since March 3, with eight of those on the road. The Knicks are fifth in the Eastern Conference, wedged between the fourth-place Cavaliers and the Heat and Brooklyn Nets, who are tied for sixth. New York is on the verge of securing a playoff berth and avoiding the play-in tournament, but because it's five games behind Cleveland in the loss column, the odds of securing home-court advantage in the first round appear minuscule at best. |
|||||||
03-26-23 | Grizzlies v. Hawks +2.5 | Top | 123-119 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 20 m | Show |
The Memphis Grizzlies will put their five-game winning streak on the line and continue their quest to earn the top playoff seed in the Western Conference on Sunday when they travel to Atlanta to play a Hawks team looking to clarify its postseason situation. The Grizzlies (46-27) are currently second in the Western Conference and trail Denver by 3 1/2 games with nine remaining. Memphis already has clinched a playoff spot and locked up its second straight Southwest Division title. The Grizzlies are coming off a 151-114 win over Houston on Friday. The Hawks (37-37) climbed back to .500 with Saturday's 143-130 win over Indiana and remain No. 8 in the Eastern Conference. This is the final game between Memphis and Atlanta this season. The Grizzlies won the first contest 128-103 on Dec. 12 in Memphis. Tyus Jones had 22 points and 11 rebounds and Jaren Jackson Jr. tied a single-game franchise record for the Grizzlies with eight blocks. Atlanta was without Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, Clint Capela and Bogdan Bogdanovic, while the Grizzlies played without Ja Morant. Atlanta will need to slow the 3-point shooting of Luke Kennard, who set a franchise record by making 10 3-pointers on 11 attempts against Houston. Kennard was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers at the trade deadline. He matched his career high with 30 points and tied the NBA record for the highest 3-point percentage by a player with 10 in a game, a record shared by Ty Lawson and Klay Thompson. |

03-26-23 | Creighton v. San Diego State UNDER 134.5 | 56-57 | Win | 100 | 5 h 23 m | Show
Creighton and San Diego State shared a chartered flight to the Maui Invitational four months ago and the two head coaches sat across from each other on the aisle, talking about possibly playing in the tournament championship game. That didn't happen in Maui but the Aztecs and Bluejays are about to play on a much bigger stage. Sixth-seeded Creighton (24-12) and fifth-seeded San Diego State (30-6) are the final two teams standing in the South Region. Both programs are aiming to reach new heights when they share the court in Louisville, Ky., with a Final Four berth on the line. They are flying in unprecedented altitude as neither school has ever reached the Final Four. The Aztecs hadn't advanced past the Sweet 16 until stunning No. 1 overall seed Alabama 71-64 on Friday, while the Bluejays' 86-75 win over 15th-seeded Princeton got them into their first Elite Eight since 1941 when there were just eight total teams in the tournament. This is heady territory for San Diego State coach Brian Dutcher. He initially came to the school as Steve Fisher's top assistant prior to the 1999-2000 season. The Aztecs then went 5-23 and didn't win a single Mountain West Conference game. Now the school is an NCAA Tournament regular but it typically is done by this stage of March Madness. |

03-24-23 | 76ers v. Warriors UNDER 234.5 | 112-120 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
The Philadelphia 76ers hope to have Joel Embiid and James Harden back in the lineup when they take on a resurgent Golden State Warriors club Friday night in San Francisco. The 76ers blitzed the host Chicago Bulls 116-91 on Wednesday night despite Harden sitting out with left Achilles soreness and giving Embiid the second half off due to tightness in his right calf. With Embiid's benching coming after the 76ers had built a 28-point halftime lead, Philadelphia coach Doc Rivers found himself spending more time explaining Harden's status moving forward than his star center's availability for Friday's second stop on a four-game trip. "We don't want him playing if it's sore," Rivers said of Harden, who also missed last Saturday's game against Indiana before returning to play 47 minutes Monday in a double-overtime home loss to the Bulls. "If it's sore enough, we still won't play him on Friday," said Rivers. "We've gone into the playoffs two years in a row with injuries. We all learned, we all know that you don't win in the playoffs if your key guys aren't healthy. Period. So we're going to do whatever we can to be healthy." Harden had 27 points and Embiid a game-high 34 when the 76ers beat a short-handed Warriors team 118-106 at home on Dec. 16. Golden State was missing Stephen Curry (dislocated left shoulder), Draymond Green (bruised right quad) and Andrew Wiggins (strained right adductor) that night. Golden State remains without Wiggins (personal matters) but managed to string together consecutive road wins for just the second time this season when it defeated the Houston Rockets 121-108 and Dallas Mavericks 127-125 on Monday and Wednesday, respectively, to cap a 2-3 trip. |
|||||||
03-24-23 | Bulls v. Blazers +2.5 | Top | 124-96 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
The Chicago Bulls are showing signs of making a late-season dash as they look for their sixth victory in eight games when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. Chicago (34-38) is in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, possessing the final play-in berth by 1 1/2 games over the Indiana Pacers. But the Bulls are also just a half-game behind the ninth-place Toronto Raptors and 1 1/2 games behind the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks. Chicago is coming off a two-game split with the third-place Philadelphia 76ers. The Bulls recorded a 109-105 double-overtime road win on Monday before being pummeled 116-91 at home on Wednesday. The Bulls dug themselves early deficits of 17-0 and 23-1 in the rematch. |
|||||||
03-24-23 | Princeton v. Creighton -9.5 | 75-86 | Win | 100 | 8 h 10 m | Show
For the third straight year, a No. 15 reached the Sweet 16. For the second straight season, a private school from New Jersey is the noisemaker in the NCAA Tournament. Princeton coach Mitch Henderson said the Tigers received celebrity treatment since returning home from consecutive bracket-busting upsets of South No. 2 seed Arizona and No. 7 Missouri. Henderson and Princeton wade deeper into uncharted territory in a South Region semifinal game against sixth-seeded Creighton on Friday in Louisville. "I was on a show today with Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski), and he asked me the same thing," Henderson said. "I was like, 'Well, you tell me. What do we do here?'" It's not a mystery for the Ivy League champions. Henderson intends for everyone to remember what got them to this point, to stay themselves while enjoying the moment. The Tigers (23-8) haven't played like a No. 15 seed in their two tournament wins. They never trailed after the opening minutes against Missouri, made twice as many 3-pointers (12 to six) as their opponent and dominated the boards 44-30, all while handling the Tigers' pressure defense. |
|||||||
03-24-23 | Pistons +15 v. Raptors | 97-118 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 11 m | Show
The Toronto Raptors will try to put the advantage back into home court when they play the struggling Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The Raptors (35-38) had won seven in a row at home before losing 118-114 to the visiting Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Meanwhile the Pistons (16-57) lost their fourth straight Tuesday 129-107 to the host Atlanta Hawks. The Raptors were without Scottie Barnes (wrist), Gary Trent Jr. (elbow) and Precious Achiuwa (hamstring) when they played the Pacers in the opener of a four-game homestand. None took part in practice on Thursday and all three are listed as questionable for Friday. Barnes took shots with a brace on his injured left wrist after practice. The Raptors, who are 23-14 at home, fell behind the Pacers 36-26 in the first quarter after a sluggish start. |
|||||||
03-24-23 | Pacers +12 v. Celtics | 95-120 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 50 m | Show
The Indiana Pacers are hoping to have All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton in the lineup when they face the Boston Celtics on the road Friday night. Haliburton was originally listed as questionable for Wednesday's 118-114 victory at Toronto but was ruled out just before tipoff and missed his sixth consecutive game with a right ankle injury. The Pacers have a 3-3 record during that stretch. Indiana (33-40) lost nine of 10 games during a three-week stretch in January, when Haliburton was out with a sprained left elbow. "With him out, (rookie guard Andrew Nembhard) is getting a great chance to play a lot of minutes at point, which is good for him," Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said earlier this week. "It's been much more challenging when Tyrese has been out of the lineup. I don't think that's any news flash. But we are where we are." Haliburton, 23, is averaging 20.8 points, 10.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in 54 starts this season. He had 22 points and 14 assists when the Celtics beat the Pacers 142-138 in overtime on Feb. 23. Nembhard scored 25 points and had 10 assists in Indiana's victory over Toronto. |

03-24-23 | San Diego State v. Alabama OVER 137.5 | Top | 71-64 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 24 m | Show |
Win or lose in the Sweet 16 matchup with No. 1 overall seed Alabama, San Diego State strives to control the pace. For the Aztecs to defeat the Crimson Tide in the South Region semifinal on Friday in Louisville, Ky., the No. 5 seed has to live up to its reputation. "San Diego State's defense is elite," Alabama coach Nate Oats said. The Aztecs (29-6) led the nation in transition defense, and with a rotation that touches 10 players and beyond, San Diego State follows an old-school philosophy: Defend and offense will follow. The Mountain West champions expected to be in Louisville with this opportunity, even if others didn't |

03-23-23 | Gonzaga +1.5 v. UCLA | 79-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 14 m | Show
Thursday is the 17-year anniversary of when UCLA put on a dazzling game-ending 11-0 run for an improbable 73-71 victory in the Sweet 16 that left Gonzaga star Adam Morrison face-first on the court, crying in distress and defeat. The Bulldogs returned the heartbreak less than two years ago when Jalen Suggs drained a buzzer-beater from just inside halfcourt in overtime to give the Bulldogs a miraculous 93-90 victory over the Bruins in Final Four. More electrifying drama could be in store Thursday night when the second-seeded Bruins (31-5) and third-seeded Bulldogs (30-5) square off in the Sweet 16 in West Region play in Las Vegas. Gonzaga has won 11 straight games and is in the Sweet 16 for the eighth straight NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs beat Grand Canyon and TCU in their first two March Madness games. |

03-23-23 | Cavs v. Nets +4.5 | Top | 116-114 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
While the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be peaking at the right time in a bid to secure home-court advantage in the first round of the postseason, an ill-timed losing streak may force the Brooklyn Nets into playing at least one extra game to reach the playoffs. Cleveland goes for the sweep of the two-game set and attempts to continue its recent surge Thursday night in Brooklyn, where the Nets are hoping to avoid a season-worst fifth straight loss. Cleveland (46-28) is in good shape to clinch home-court in the postseason for the first time since 2018 in LeBron James' final season of his second stint. The Cavaliers already had surpassed last year's win total when they lost to the Nets in a play-in game. Following Tuesday's 115-109 victory over the Nets, they moved 3 1/2 games ahead of the fifth-place New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference, entering Wednesday. Cleveland is 8-3 over its past 11 games since losing three straight Feb. 15-24. On Tuesday, the Cavs trailed by seven in the first quarter, took control in the second quarter and pulled away in the third before allowing a 24-point lead to get sliced down in the final minutes before struggling in the final minutes. |

03-23-23 | Michigan State v. Kansas State +1.5 | Top | 93-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Standing on the scorer's table with a microphone after Kansas State stunned visiting Kansas in overtime, Wildcats coach Jerome Tang led the crowd in a chant of "K-S-U!" It was what he said next that stayed with people, inside and outside of Manhattan, Kan. "I told y'all, you get one court storming," Tang said Jan. 17. "From here on out, expect to win." From the Little Apple to the Big one, third-seeded Kansas State arrives for the Sweet 16, extending Tang's first season as coach. The Wildcats will take on seventh-seeded Michigan State on Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Kansas State (25-9) defeated sixth-seeded Kentucky 75-69 in Sunday's second-round NCAA Tournament game to reach the East Region semifinals. It marks the program's first Sweet 16 appearance since 2018 and just its third since the 1980s. Tang was an assistant and associate head coach at Baylor for 20 years before getting the chance to run his own Big 12 program. He had to assemble most of the current roster through the transfer portal, with only two players returning last year's squad. That included landing feel-good story Keyontae Johnson, who collapsed on the court while playing for Florida in 2020 and worked hard to resume his basketball career. |

03-22-23 | Utah Valley v. Cincinnati | 74-68 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
Bearcats are 25-51-3 ATS in their last 79 games following a straight up win and 12-27-1 ATS in their last 40 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. |

03-22-23 | Pacers v. Raptors UNDER 234.5 | Top | 118-114 | Win | 100 | 10 h 25 m | Show |
The Toronto Raptors could be without Scottie Barnes when they go for their eighth consecutive home victory Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Barnes left Sunday's 118-111 road loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second quarter with an injured left wrist and did not return. Barnes did not practice Tuesday. "The MRI was clear that he had, he is still pretty sore," Raptors coach Nick Nurse said Tuesday. "I think he's day-to-day. I think there is going to be another evaluation here this afternoon. But right now he is day-to-day and questionable." The 21-year-old is averaging 15.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists for the Raptors this season. He was the NBA Rookie of the Year last season. Barnes had five points in 13 minutes before his injury Sunday. The Raptors (35-37) have lost their two meetings with the Pacers this season, both in Indianapolis. |

03-21-23 | Thunder v. Clippers -6.5 | 101-100 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 55 m | Show
Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returns this week to the city where his NBA career first took flight, with a chance to cause a disruption for his former team. Gilgeous-Alexander brings the Thunder to Los Angeles in order to face the Clippers with plenty on the line. The first of back-to-back games takes place Tuesday, with another meeting at L.A. on Thursday. Oklahoma City is making a late-season push up the standings, winning seven of its past nine games in a burst that has the team thinking big. At the start of NBA play Monday, the Thunder (35-36) were in eighth place in the Western Conference and eligible for the play-in tournament. The Clippers (38-34) are in fifth place, with a first-round spot secure at the moment, but the Thunder are just 2 1/2 games behind Los Angeles in the standings and are just one game behind the sixth-place Dallas Mavericks. After missing the playoffs the past two seasons, Oklahoma City is showing that the moment is not too large. |

03-21-23 | Wisconsin v. Oregon -4.5 | Top | 61-58 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
Top-seeded Oregon will be facing a Wisconsin team similarly focused on opportunity rather than disappointment when the Ducks host the Badgers in the NIT quarterfinals on Tuesday night in Eugene, Ore. Oregon (21-14) defeated UCF 68-54 in the second round Sunday. Second-seeded Wisconsin (19-14), which had appeared in 22 of the last 23 NCAA tournaments before missing out this season, rallied past Liberty 75-71 on Sunday. "We've got a chance to play Wisconsin on Tuesday night at home. We don't get Big Ten teams to come out here very often," Oregon coach Dana Altman said. "... So I hope the students will respond, that people respond." It will be the first meeting between the two since the 12th-seeded Ducks upset the fifth-seeded Badgers 72-54 in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Oregon rolled past UCF behind a career-high 21 points and 13 rebounds from 7-foot sophomore Nate Bittle. The Ducks were again without their two top scorers, post player N'Faly Dante and guard Jermaine Couisnard. Their status vs. Wisconsin is undecided. |

03-21-23 | Pistons v. Hawks -13.5 | Top | 107-129 | Win | 100 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
The Atlanta Hawks will go for a season sweep against the visiting Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, needing a win against the Eastern Conference cellar-dweller to keep pace in the playoff race. The Hawks have lost three of their last four and wasted a 24-point lead in a 126-118 setback to San Antonio on Sunday. Atlanta (35-36) is No. 8 in the East, three games behind No. 7 Miami and only one-half game ahead of No. 9 Toronto and 1 1/2 games ahead of No. 10 Chicago before Monday's games. This will be the final meeting between Atlanta and Detroit. The Hawks won the first two games in Detroit and then the most recent meeting, 130-105 on Dec. 23 in Atlanta. Atlanta coach Quin Snyder said his team needs to learn from its poor second-half performance against the Spurs. The Hawks led 83-61 at halftime but scored only 35 points in the second half, with just 15 in the fourth quarter. |

03-20-23 | Pacers v. Hornets UNDER 232.5 | 109-115 | Win | 100 | 16 h 25 m | Show
Quite a bit of experimentation is happening with both the Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets. These teams might be testing more lineup combinations when they meet Monday night at Charlotte, N.C. There is an eye toward the future for both teams as they try to build a stronger foundation and pick up some late-season good vibes. Neither team is in playoff contention, though the Pacers (32-39) haven't dropped back-to-back games in more than a month. The Hornets (22-50) are in danger of going 0-5 on this season-long five-game homestand. |

03-20-23 | Rice v. Southern Utah -6 | Top | 79-81 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 52 m | Show |

03-19-23 | Creighton +1.5 v. Baylor | Top | 85-76 | Win | 100 | 7 h 23 m | Show |
Ryan Kalkbrenner could pose a matchup problem for his next opponent as sixth-seeded Creighton and third-seeded Baylor prepare for a second-round showdown at the NCAA Tournament on Sunday in Denver. Both programs are eyeing a return to the Sweet 16 via the South Region. Baylor and Creighton each made the second weekend of the tournament in 2021, when the Bears went on to win the national championship, but both lost in the second round in 2022. Kalkbrenner, the 7-foot-1 center who leads Creighton (22-12) in scoring at 15.9 points per game is coming off a career-high 31-point showing in the Bluejays' 72-63 first-round win over North Carolina State. Kalkbrenner had six dunks and seven rebounds in that game and finished 11-for-14 from the floor. He leads Division I in field-goal percentage at 71.4 percent, with a 74.4 percent rate from two-point range. That spells trouble for the Bears (23-10), despite their higher seed and championship experience. Their weakness is guarding the interior; they rank outside the top 300 nationally in two-point defense, allowing 53.4 percent shooting inside the arc. |

03-19-23 | Michigan State v. Marquette UNDER 139.5 | Top | 69-60 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show |
Two teams with rich NCAA tournament traditions meet when the No. 2-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles battle the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans Sunday in a second-round East Region contest in Columbus, Ohio. The winner advances to the East Region semifinals Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Both teams were able to avoid the upset bug on Friday in Columbus. Marquette (29-6) set a new school record for most wins in a season, handling No. 15 seed Vermont, 78-61, leading nearly wire to wire. Marquette's previous high for wins in a season was 28 in 1970-71, going undefeated until losing to Ohio State in the NCAA regional semifinals. Marquette won the national championship in 1977 and reached the Final Four in 2003. Michigan State (20-12) has captured two national championships (1979, 2000) and has made the Final Four 10 times, including most recently in 2019. Unlike Purdue, Michigan State was a Big Ten team that escaped the upset on Friday, dispatching of Pac-12 foe USC, 72-62, to earn a showdown with a program that was once a big rival. |

03-19-23 | Kentucky v. Kansas State +3 | 69-75 | Win | 100 | 3 h 6 m | Show
Diminutive Markquis Nowell is used to being the smallest player on the court, while typically making a big impact. The standout point guard will aim to lead third-seeded Kansas State to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2018 when it battles another band of Wildcats in sixth-seeded Kentucky on Sunday in NCAA Tournament second-round East Region play at Greensboro, N.C. The 5-foot-8 Nowell matched his career high of 14 assists and also had 17 points, six rebounds and three steals as Kansas State (24-9) posted a 77-65 victory over Montana State in Friday's first round. "It's a blessing to tie my career high, but I have to give credit to my teammates for getting open and finishing the plays," Nowell said. "It was just a well-executed ball game and game plan that the coaching staff came up with, and the players, we executed it." Nowell has a single-season program-record 257 assists this season, shattering the mark set by school legend Steve Henson (186 in 1987-88). The 14 assists against Montana State also is the most in an NCAA Tournament game by a Kansas State player, passing Henson's 12 in a 73-70 win over Purdue on March 25, 1988. |

03-18-23 | 76ers v. Pacers UNDER 232.5 | Top | 141-121 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
After recording arguably their best win of the season, the Indiana Pacers will look to carry that momentum into a Saturday night matchup against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers. Indiana (32-38) won for the fourth time in six games on Thursday, beating the host Milwaukee Bucks 139-123. The Pacers now turn their attention toward another Eastern Conference power, Philadelphia (47-22), which has won seven straight. Rookie Andrew Nembhard provided a spark on Thursday for the Pacers, who scored a season-high 84 second-half points and snapped a 10-game, head-to-head losing streak against the Bucks. Nembhard had a team-high 24 points in the victory. Indiana enters Saturday's game a half-game out of 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 12 games remaining. Teams seven through 10 will advance to the play-in tournament. The win over Milwaukee was even more surprising considering that Indiana played without All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton and rookie Bennedict Mathurin, both of whom sat out due to right ankle sprains. Both will be sidelined again on Saturday. With Haliburton out, Nembhard scored the second-most points of his career on Friday. |

03-18-23 | Auburn v. Houston UNDER 132.5 | Top | 64-81 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
No. 1 Houston will have questions aplenty when it battles ninth-seeded Auburn in a Round of 32 game in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala. First and foremost for Houston (32-3) will be the health of All-American guard Marcus Sasser, who scored just five points before aggravating a groin injury in the Cougars' tougher-than-expected, 63-52 win over 16th-seeded Northern Kentucky on Thursday. Houston's chief facilitator Jamal Shead also struggled with a sore knee in the victory. Both players began Friday's press conference by telling reporters they were "100 percent" going to play Saturday. That doesn't mean they are 100 percent healthy. "It's always going to be a concern when you know you can reaggravate or reinjure, but, you know, it's win or go home," Sasser said. "Tomorrow is not promised. The next game is not promised." Sasser said he planted too hard during a jump shot to reinjure the groin. |

03-18-23 | Nuggets v. Knicks UNDER 231.5 | 110-116 | Win | 100 | 1 h 56 m | Show
The Denver Nuggets accomplished two things with a win at Detroit on Thursday night when they snapped a season-long four-game skid and officially clinched a playoff spot. Next up on the to-do list is securing the top seed in the Western Conference, which went from a near lock to somewhat tenuous with the recent losing streak. Denver leads the Sacramento Kings by 4 1/2 games and has 12 games remaining to finish atop the conference for the first time in NBA franchise history. The quest continues with a matinee game at the New York Knicks on Saturday. The Nuggets (47-23) seemed to find their defense in the second half of the win over the Pistons. Denver held them to 36 points in the second half, which came two days after allowing Toronto to score 49 points in the first quarter. It has been a struggle on defense; the Nuggets allowed 123 points per game in the losing streak but held Detroit to 100 while becoming the first team to clinch a division and the second to secure a playoff spot. |

03-17-23 | Florida Atlantic +2 v. Memphis | 66-65 | Win | 100 | 5 h 12 m | Show
While this season has already been a Cinderella story for Florida Atlantic, the Owls still have a chance to tack on another chapter. Ninth-seeded FAU will have the chance to capture its first NCAA Tournament win on Friday at Columbus, Ohio, when it takes on No. 8 seed Memphis in an East Region first-round game. The Owls (31-3) have recorded their most wins in program history, received their first ranking in the AP Top 25 poll and defeated UAB 78-56 on Saturday to win the Conference USA tournament. FAU has been to the NCAA Tournament just one other time -- losing to Alabama in 2002 -- and now has the chance to get familiar with Memphis (26-8), which is trying to become a tourney regular again. The two teams will be seeing plenty of each other when FAU joins join the American Athletic Conference in July. "The suspense was gone because we knew we were in, but we were excited to see who we were going to play, where we were going to play and when," Florida Atlantic coach Dusty May said. "Obviously, Memphis is a great opponent, a storied program, well-coached. We're excited to see how we stack up with our future AAC opponent." Chances are, Memphis will be the team to beat in the conference next season. It is coming off Sunday's 75-65 victory over then-No. 1 Houston in the AAC tournament championship game. |

03-17-23 | 76ers v. Hornets OVER 227.5 | Top | 121-82 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 38 m | Show |
The best players for the Philadelphia 76ers have the team on an upward trajectory at an ideal time. The 76ers might be facing the Charlotte Hornets at a good time as well when the teams meet Friday night at Charlotte, N.C. The most recent games for both teams came against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hornets dropped home games to the Cavaliers on Sunday and Tuesday. On Wednesday night, the 76ers rallied to win 118-109 at Cleveland for their sixth consecutive victory. Joel Embiid racked up 36 points for Philadelphia in that game and James Harden tacked on 28 points. The visit to Cleveland was the beginning of Philadelphia's stretch of seven road games in a an eight-game span. "We've really come together over the last couple of weeks, being a team, having each other's back," 76ers forward Georges Niang said. "That showed in the games we've won, especially the close ones. We're going to continue to do that, continue to grow." 76ers coach Doc Rivers said the team can't afford mistakes like the 18 turnovers at Cleveland. |

03-17-23 | Fairleigh Dickinson v. Purdue -23 | Top | 63-58 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 24 m | Show |
Even a No. 1 seed can find areas of improvement as the NCAA Tournament begins. Such is the case with top-seeded Purdue as it prepares to play No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday in an East Region first-round game at Columbus, Ohio. Fairleigh Dickinson earned the matchup against the Boilermakers by virtue of their 84-61 win over Texas Southern on Wednesday in a First Four matchup at Dayton, Ohio. Purdue (29-5) enters the tournament having won five consecutive games and their 29 wins are the second-highest total in school history. Purdue won the Big Ten regular season crown by three games then held off Penn State 67-65 for the conference tournament title. Now the Boilermakers look for the trifecta with a run to a first-ever national championship. This is the fourth time Purdue has earned a No. 1 seed and first since 1996. But Purdue coach Matt Painter would like to see his team handle the ball better, a problem that cropped up late in the Big Ten regular season. Purdue's only rough patch came in February when they lost three of four and four of six. In losses to Indiana and Northwestern they turned the ball over 16 times. In a win over Iowa, they committed 17. In three Big Ten tourney wins, they committed just 25 total. |

03-16-23 | Northern Kentucky +18.5 v. Houston | 52-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
Looking for an excuse to believe Northern Kentucky can become the second No. 16 seed to shock a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament's first round? Here you go: Cincinnati served as one of the two common opponents between Northern Kentucky (22-12) and top-ranked Houston (31-3) during the regular season. The Cougars defeated the Bearcats three times by an average of 13.3 points per game - while the Norse knocked off the Bearcats by 13 on Nov. 16. There you have it: Proof that Houston and Northern Kentucky will be pretty much equals when they meet Thursday night in Midwest Regional first-round action in Birmingham, Ala. Of course, once you parse their other common opponent (Kent State, which Houston beat by five points and Northern Kentucky lost to by 22) as well as the rest of their schedules, it's clear the Cougars boast a far superior resume than the Horizon League tournament champs. But anything can happen in one two-hour stretch, right? |

03-16-23 | Kings v. Nets OVER 237.5 | 101-96 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 40 m | Show
The Sacramento Kings are about to end a 16-year playoff drought, the longest such stretch in NBA history. The Kings are also closing in on ending a slightly longer run without a winning road record. When De'Aaron Fox sank a last-second 3-pointer for a 117-114 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, it gave the Kings their 20th road of the season. Sacramento's first chance at clinching its first winning road record since 2003-04 occurs Thursday night when the Kings oppose the Brooklyn Nets in New York. Fox scored 15 of his 32 in the fourth quarter in Chicago to give Sacramento its eighth road win by five points or fewer. The victory came after the Kings trailed by 10 at halftime. "We didn't play well and we found a way to win tonight," Sacramento coach Mike Brown said. The Kings also are on the verge of clinching their first winning season since 2005-06, when they finished 44-38 but were 17-24 on the road. Sacramento's last winning road record occurred when it was 21-20 in 2003-04 during a stretch of five straight seasons with at least 50 wins. |

03-16-23 | College of Charleston v. San Diego State OVER 141.5 | Top | 57-63 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 42 m | Show |
San Diego State was grateful to earn a No. 5 seed for the NCAA Tournament, but coach Brian Dutcher said that number won't matter when the Aztecs tip off against 12th-seeded Charleston on Thursday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. "You have to go play, and the better team will win on Thursday," Dutcher said. "We have to be prepared and we have to be the better team." San Diego State (27-6) was the best team in the Mountain West Conference during the regular season and again during last week's conference tournament. The Aztecs won the MWC by two games over Utah State, and then beat the Aggies 62-57 to win the tournament title on Saturday in Las Vegas. |

03-15-23 | Arizona State -2 v. Nevada | Top | 98-73 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
A pair of No. 11 seeds led by high-profile coaches square off when Nevada takes on Arizona State in a First Four play-in game Wednesday at Dayton, Ohio. The winner will advance to play No. 6 seed TCU on Friday in Denver in a West Regional first-round game. The storylines will be rich in this showdown as Arizona State (22-12) has benefitted greatly from two Nevada transfers who left Steve Alford's program after the 2021-22 season and are now playing for Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley. Desmond Cambridge Jr. is a point guard for the Sun Devils and 7-footer Warren Washington is a force near the basket. |

03-14-23 | Knicks v. Blazers OVER 228 | Top | 123-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
Julius Randle followed up his worst shooting performance of the season with the type of showing that has made him a two-time All-Star. Randle looks to post his fifth 30-point effort in 11 games since the All-Star break when the New York Knicks visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. Randle scored 33 points on Sunday night when the Knicks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 112-108 victory over the host Los Angeles Lakers. One day earlier in the same arena, Randle was just 5-of-24 shooting for a season-low 20.8 percent success rate from the field during a 106-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. |

03-14-23 | Villanova +4.5 v. Liberty | 57-62 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 49 m | Show
Despite a litany of injuries to key players, Villanova rallied to win seven of its final 10 games to secure a berth in the National Invitation Tournament. The Wildcats will travel to face No. 2 seed Liberty on Tuesday in Lynchburg, Va. Justin Moore, who ruptured his Achilles in the Elite Eight last season against Houston, missed 20 games this season. Big East Freshman of the Year Cam Whitmore was sidelined for the first seven games following surgery on his right thumb. And Jordan Longino was out for eight games in the middle of the Big East schedule with a hamstring injury. Villanova (17-16) was ousted by Creighton, 87-74, in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament. |
|||||||
03-14-23 | Pistons v. Wizards OVER 219.5 | 97-117 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 53 m | Show
The Washington Wizards don't want to rely on help from other teams to make the NBA's play-in tournament. The past 10 days have put them in a precarious position. They have recorded just one victory during their past six games, but they will face the team they defeated -- the Detroit Pistons -- on Tuesday night in Washington. Washington, which fell 112-93 to the host Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, sits a half-game behind the Chicago Bulls for 10th place and the final Eastern Conference play-in berth. |
|||||||
03-13-23 | Bucks v. Kings UNDER 243.5 | 133-124 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 26 m | Show
Two of the NBA's top teams clash on Monday when the Sacramento Kings host the Milwaukee Bucks, who are on the second leg of a three-game West Coast road swing. The Eastern Conference-leading Bucks went into their trip winners in 19 of their last 20 games. However, with former two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined Saturday against the Golden State Warriors, it was another two-time MVP that was the difference. Golden State's Steph Curry erupted late and scored 36 points as Milwaukee lost 125-116 in overtime. The defeat was the Bucks' third since Jan. 16. They head into Sacramento for Monday's game having last dropped back-to-back contests on Jan. 12 and 14. Milwaukee rallied from down 13 points in the second half to get to overtime at Golden State, thanks in part to 15 points and 13 rebounds from Bobby Portis in his 33rd double-double of the season. Khris Middleton added 19 points, five assists and four steals. Middleton played 34 minutes while shooting 3 of 4 from 3-point range, but after missing 43 games due to injuries, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer has remained cautious with the three-time All-Star's usage. |

03-13-23 | Pacers -3.5 v. Pistons | Top | 97-117 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 29 m | Show |
The Eastern Conference play-in tournament has given the Indiana Pacers something to aim for during the final month of the season. They can continue their postseason push with another road victory over the downtrodden and depleted Detroit Pistons on Monday night. Indiana is within striking distance of the ninth and 10th spots in the conference. The Pacers handed the Pistons their 11th consecutive loss on Saturday, 121-115. The Pacers played without All-Star and leading scorer Tyrese Haliburton due to a bruised left knee. Center Myles Turner (back), Bennedict Mathurin (ankle) and T.J. McConnell (back) also missed the game. In their absence, Jalen Smith erupted for 20 points and nine rebounds. The Pacers also got big games from Isaiah Jackson, who had 19 points and 11 rebounds (six offensive), and Andrew Nembhard, who contributed 19 points and eight assists. The game was special for Jackson, who grew up in Detroit and had 60 family members and friends in the crowd. He helped Indiana outrebound Detroit 58-42. |

03-12-23 | Penn State v. Purdue OVER 134 | 65-67 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 28 m | Show
No. 5 Purdue has been the Big Ten's top team all season. The Boilermakers won the outright championship in the regular season and attempt to add the conference tournament title to their resume when they square off with surprising Penn State in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. Ranked fifth in the country, Purdue advanced to the championship game by defeating 13th-seeded Ohio State in the semifinals on Saturday, 80-66. National Player of the Year candidate Zach Edey overpowered the Buckeyes with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Purdue (28-5) has one conference tournament title since the event's inception in 1998. That came in 2009, when it defeated Ohio State 65-61. The Boilermakers lost in the championship game in 2016, '18 and '22. Last season, Iowa defeated Purdue, 75-66 in Indianapolis. Penn State (22-12) advanced to the Big Ten title game for just the second time by defeating Indiana 77-73. The 10th-seeded Nittany Lions can make history, since no seed lower than eighth has won the tournament. |

03-10-23 | Raptors v. Lakers +2 | 112-122 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Bloodied yet not deterred, Anthony Davis will continue to lead the Los Angeles Lakers' playoff push during a home matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Davis has averaged 33.0 points with 13.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks over his last five games as the Lakers continue to move up the Western Conference standings in an effort to lock down a spot in the play-in tournament. The Lakers moved into ninth place Tuesday with a 112-103 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies when Davis scored 30 points with a season-best 22 rebounds. The productive night came as he took a blow from Memphis' David Roddy that left him bleeding from inside and outside of his nose, costing time to receive medical attention. The schedule will dictate that Davis plays through the discomfort. Los Angeles has just 16 games remaining and they have been playing without star LeBron James, who could miss another three weeks with a tendon injury in his right foot. |

03-10-23 | Maryland v. Indiana -2 | Top | 60-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
No. 19-ranked Indiana has a decorated past and checks all the boxes as a college basketball blueblood. But the Hoosiers, for all their success, have never won the Big Ten tournament. Since 1998, when the event kicked off, Indiana has reached the final only once, losing to Iowa in 2001. Is this finally the year? The quest for third-seeded Indiana (21-10) will begin Friday night in Chicago with a quarterfinal game against sixth-seeded Maryland (21-11). The Hoosiers put themselves in a strong position by earning a prized double bye, which came by virtue of a 75-73 overtime win Sunday against visiting Michigan. In his final game at Assembly Hall, Trayce Jackson-Davis had 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The Hoosiers rallied from a 12-point, second-half deficit and got to overtime on a 3-pointer by Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jalen Hood-Schifino with 59 seconds left. The win completed an inconsistent end of the season for the Hoosiers, who beat regular-season champion Purdue twice in February but also lost at Northwestern and Michigan State and fell by 22 points on Feb. 28 at home against Iowa. |

03-10-23 | Blazers v. 76ers -8.5 | 119-120 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 56 m | Show
The surging Philadelphia 76ers will look for their fourth straight victory when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. The Sixers completed a difficult five-game road trip with a 4-1 record. It was capped by wins over the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Philadelphia defeated the Timberwolves, 117-94, on Tuesday as Joel Embiid led the way with 39 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots. Tyrese Maxey added 27 points for the Sixers, who won handily without James Harden due to left foot soreness. Harden's status is unclear for the game against the Trail Blazers. Embiid elevated his play again and had another Most Valuable Player-type performance in just three quarters. With the game well in control, Embiid was able to rest for the fourth. Embiid was 13-for-22 from the field, including 4-for-4 from 3-point territory. He also made all nine free throws. |

03-09-23 | Hornets v. Pistons +4.5 | 113-103 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 19 m | Show
The Detroit Pistons nearly overcame the absence of numerous starters and second unit players on Tuesday. The final result was another loss, their ninth in a row. They'll look to end the slide when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night. Their home game against Washington was tied in the final minute, but the Pistons allowed two costly offensive rebounds and the Wizards won 119-117 on Daniel Gafford's putback at the buzzer. It was Detroit's sixth loss by six or fewer points during the current skid. "Everyone looks at the last play, but there were a lot of plays before that," Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. "I applaud those guys for fighting that hard against a team trying to make the playoffs. A lot of them weren't here two weeks ago, and they are still figuring out how to play together." Detroit's injured list included leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles), Alec Burks (foot), Jalen Duren (ankle), Killian Hayes (hand), Hamidou Diallo (ankle) and Isaiah Stewart (hip). Franchise player Cade Cunningham suffered a season-ending shin injury in November. |

03-08-23 | Oregon State +11 v. Arizona State | Top | 57-63 | Win | 100 | 12 h 34 m | Show |
Arizona State's hopes for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament took a hit with two losses last week, but coach Bobby Hurley remains confident in his squad. The sixth-seeded Sun Devils aim for a fresh start on Wednesday when they face No. 11 seed Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas. Arizona State (20-11, 11-9 Pac-12) closed the regular season with three road games, beating then-No. 7 Arizona before falling to then-No. 4 UCLA and USC. "I'm happy with my team," Hurley said. "I am very proud of our team. We're now 20-11; we had a very tough finish to the regular season. Take any NCAA team and ask them to go to Arizona, UCLA and USC with their last three games and see what their record is. So I'm happy for my guys." Oregon State (11-20, 5-15) lost both meetings against the Sun Devils this season. Arizona State won 74-69 in Corvallis, Ore., on Jan. 14 before pulling away late in a 68-57 victory on Feb. 2. "Oregon State has played us well both games," Hurley said. "They have young players. I'm sure they'll play freely with nothing to lose." The Beavers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 69-66 win over Cal on Saturday. Sophomore guard Glenn Taylor Jr. scored a career-high 28 points in the victory. |

03-08-23 | Raptors v. Clippers UNDER 231 | Top | 100-108 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
While getting Russell Westbrook into the flow was the priority for the Los Angeles Clippers, a renewed commitment on the defensive end appears to be the team's focus now. A solid opportunity to work on defensive principles arrives Wednesday when the Clippers play host to the Toronto Raptors. While Los Angeles ranked just 22nd in the NBA through Monday with an average of 112.7 points scored per game, Toronto was 23rd at 112.6. The Clippers were torched for 176 points in a double-overtime defeat to the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 24 and have given up 131.7 points per game starting with that night while going 1-5. The 176-175 loss to the Kings was Westbrook's Clippers debut. Even in a victory Sunday over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, the Clippers gave up 129 points, with 51 of them coming in the third quarter alone. Los Angeles coach Tyronn Lue adjusted his defense in the fourth quarter, leading to the victory. |

03-08-23 | Hawks v. Wizards +4.5 | Top | 122-120 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
The Washington Wizards will have an opportunity to make up more ground in the playoff race on Wednesday when they host the Atlanta Hawks for the first of a two-game series. The Wizards, who beat the Detroit Pistons 119-117 at the buzzer on Tuesday, are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the final spot in the play-in tournament. The Hawks are No. 8 after a 130-128 road loss to the Miami Heat on Monday, and they lead Washington by just one game. Washington and Atlanta met for the first time this season on Feb. 28, with the Wizards coming back to take a 119-116 road win. The teams will face off again on Thursday in the nation's capital before completing the series on April 5 in Atlanta. Washington ended a two-game losing streak by beating the cellar-dwelling Pistons. Bradley Beal misfired on a driving shot with one second left, but Daniel Gafford was able to tip in the rebound for the winning points. |

03-08-23 | Boston College v. North Carolina -11 | 61-85 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show
Seventh-seeded North Carolina will make a final push to land in its 12th straight NCAA Tournament when it faces 10th-seeded Boston College in the second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament on Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C. The Tar Heels, who opened the season atop the AP poll, were inconsistent throughout the regular season, which they ended with a 62-57 loss to visiting Duke on Saturday. North Carolina (19-12) needs a deep run in the ACC tournament to boost its chances of making the NCAA Tournament. But Boston College (16-16) likely needs to win the conference tournament to make the field of 68. "The ACC tournament is definitely huge for us," said North Carolina forward Armando Bacot, whose team lost in the NCAA title game last season. "We're just going in there with the mindset: We just gotta go win, really. That's all we can do." While North Carolina received a first-round bye, the Eagles used a second-half surge against 15th-seeded Louisville to overcome the Cardinals' three-point halftime advantage for an 80-62 win on Tuesday. |

03-08-23 | Georgia Tech v. Pittsburgh OVER 139 | 81-89 | Win | 100 | 3 h 37 m | Show
Pittsburgh exceeded most projections during the regular season, and the Panthers would like to do that again in the postseason. They will be favored in their first game of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament when they clash with Georgia Tech in a second-round matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Greensboro, N.C. "I feel really, really good about our team, about what we have accomplished and what we can accomplish going forward," Pitt coach Jeff Capel said. "That's my focus." Fifth-seeded Pittsburgh (21-10) received a first-round bye, but there could have been much more for the Panthers. They went into the regular-season finale Saturday with a chance to secure the top seed for the league tournament, but instead a loss to then-No. 16 Miami along with other results in the league had Pitt sliding down. "We're not panicked," Capel said. "I think we'll stick to what we've been doing. We move on. Now it's the postseason." The loss to the Hurricanes gave Pittsburgh back-to-back defeats following a setback at Notre Dame. |

03-07-23 | Georgia Tech v. Florida State +2.5 | 61-60 | Win | 100 | 4 h 1 m | Show
Mired in a nine-game losing streak a month ago, it was hard to see much good coming out of this season for Georgia Tech. But the Yellow Jackets have won five of their past six games and enter the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament with renewed confidence. Seeded 13th, Georgia Tech (14-17) will play 12th-seeded Florida State (9-22) Tuesday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C., in the tournament's opening round. Coming off a 73-65 win Saturday at Boston College, when Georgia Tech rallied from a nine-point deficit in the final 10 minutes, the Yellow Jackets are feeling good vibes, especially considering the site of this week's tournament. "The last time we were in Greensboro, we won it all," said Kyle Sturdivant, referring to the Yellow Jackets' 80-75 win over Florida State in the 2021 title game. "We just have to keep stacking days and keep getting better." It will take a lot of stacking (five wins in five days) to capture this ACC tournament. The Yellow Jackets' turnaround has been sparked by 3-point marksmanship. After shooting 30 percent from deep in its first 13 ACC games, the Yellow Jackets have hit at a 41 percent clip since. The team's top scorer, Miles Kelly, has led the surge. He hit only 30.4 percent from distance in January but has made 41.8 percent since. Lance Terry has had a similar spike from 3-point range, improving from 36.4 percent in January to 47.7 percent since. |

03-06-23 | Blazers -5.5 v. Pistons | 110-104 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show
The Detroit Pistons carry a lengthy losing streak into the opener of a five-game homestand. The Pistons have lost seven straight heading into Monday night's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Detroit committed 24 turnovers while enduring a 114-90 thumping from Cleveland on Saturday night. The Pistons were down nine points at halftime, then got outscored 42-22 in the third period. "In the third quarter, when they turned up the energy and intensity, we kind of got back on our heels," Detroit coach Dwane Casey said. "You're not going to beat anybody turning the ball over 24 times, and then they got themselves going, got the shots they wanted. The persistence and sustainability of our defense and our play has to grow, and that's the issue as a young team." It hasn't helped that Casey's starting five and rotation has been in constant flux due to injuries and roster additions and subtractions. Leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic sat out on Saturday due to Achilles soreness. Power forward Isaiah Stewart (right hip soreness) and center Jalen Duren (ankle soreness) also were sidelined, forcing Casey to construct an entirely new front-court lineup. Guard Killian Hayes left the game in the third quarter due to a hand injury. |
|||||||
03-06-23 | 76ers v. Pacers UNDER 233.5 | Top | 147-143 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
After recording arguably their biggest victory of the season, the Philadelphia 76ers could be minus two starters when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Monday. Tobias Harris (left calf soreness) and P.J. Tucker (back spasms) are both unlikely to be available after exiting with injuries during Saturday's dramatic 133-130 win over the first-place Milwaukee Bucks. Philadelphia rallied from an 18-point, third-quarter deficit and scored 48 points in the fourth to snap Milwaukee's 16-game winning streak. James Harden scored 19 points in the final period and finished with 38 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. "I thought James made great decisions," Sixers coach Doc Rivers said. "He was obviously a scorer tonight, but he also was a point guard, too. "First half, I thought he was aggressive trying to score. Second half, he scored, but he was playing like an aggressive point guard. I thought the second half was better because he not only scored but he assisted, as well." Joel Embiid added 31 points and 10 assists, while Tyrese Maxey scored 26 points and Georges Niang had 16. Maxey has scored at least 23 in four straight games. The win could prove to be a turning point for the Sixers, who had lost 106 straight games when trailing by 14 or more points on the road going into the fourth quarter. |

03-05-23 | Northwestern v. Rutgers -5 | 65-53 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Thursday's stunning, last-second loss at Big Ten cellar dweller Minnesota staggered Rutgers, no doubt. But sullying the Scarlet Knights' NCAA tournament hopes, to boot? Coach Steve Pikiell isn't so sure as Rutgers prepares to host Northwestern in the regular-season finale Sunday night. "At the end of the year they decide who goes to the tournament; they don't do it after every game," Pikiell said. "I know everyone talks about it after every game. We've done a lot of good things. ... I'm not worried about (the resume). Everyone else can talk about it; we've got to get ready for Northwestern." Rutgers (18-12, 10-9 Big Ten) appeared primed for a third win in four games, leading Minnesota by 10 points with 1:15 to play. But the Golden Gophers closed the game on a 15-4 run, capped by Jamison Battle's 3-pointer at the buzzer. Clifford Omoruyi notched a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds and Cam Spencer scored 21 points for the Scarlet Knights, but it turned out the team could have used one more basket. Northwestern (20-10, 11-8) also is in dire need of momentum as it seeks to solidify its standing for a possible NCAA berth, as well as seeding for next week's conference tournament in Chicago. |

03-05-23 | Blazers v. Magic OVER 228.5 | Top | 122-119 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
The Portland Trail Blazers have dropped three in a row and five of their last six to fall a season-high five games under .500. The Trail Blazers will bid to stop their slide on Sunday when they visit the Orlando Magic in the second contest of a six-game road trip. "We're not playing great," Portland coach Chauncey Billups said following Friday's 129-111 setback to the Atlanta Hawks. "Every team has these lapses during the season and that's exactly where we're at." Damian Lillard continued his hot hand, however, by recording 33 points and eight assists against the Hawks. The seven-time All-Star drained five 3-pointers on Friday and has made 41 over his last seven games. Lillard, who is averaging a team-best 32.3 points per game, scored 30 in Portland's 109-106 home loss to Orlando on Jan. 10. Jusuf Nurkic collected 22 points and 10 rebounds and Anfernee Simons added 15 in that game, however both players are nursing injuries. Nurkic has been out for over a month due to an ailing calf, while Simons and Justise Winslow are dealing with ankle injuries. |

03-05-23 | Warriors v. Lakers OVER 235.5 | 105-113 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 56 m | Show
The Golden State Warriors are looking forward to having the superstar advantage for a change when they open a three-game trip against the rival Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors are expecting Stephen Curry to return from an 11-game absence due to a partially torn ligament in his left knee when they meet the Lakers for a fourth and final time this season. This time, they won't have to deal with LeBron James, who remains out with a foot injury. The last time the Western Conference playoff hopefuls met, the Lakers took advantage of Curry's absence to run up a 124-111 home triumph 10 days ago. James flirted with a triple-double before finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Before that, Curry outscored James 33-31 on opening night when the Warriors handed out their 2022 championship rings before seizing a 123-109 victory. They then both sat out a Feb. 11 rematch in Los Angeles, won 109-103 by the Lakers. Dennis Schroder paced the hosts in that one with 26 points. The Warriors have gone 7-4 in Curry's absence. But all seven of those wins came in eight home games, while they interspersed road losses at Portland and against both Los Angeles teams. |

03-05-23 | Suns +1.5 v. Mavs | 130-126 | Win | 100 | 3 h 28 m | Show
The Phoenix Suns wrap up a four-game road swing on Sunday in a matinee against a Dallas Mavericks team that seeks consecutive wins for the first time since before the All-Star break. In its second game since Kevin Durant joined the lineup, Phoenix scored a second straight blowout win on Friday with its 125-104 romp at Chicago. Durant -- acquired in a trade from Brooklyn last month -- finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists against the Bulls. He debuted with 23 points and six rebounds on Wednesday in Charlotte, helping the Suns to a 105-91 win over the Hornets. "He's just being himself," Devin Booker said of Durant in a postgame interview with Bally Sports Arizona following Friday's win. "That's what we need from him. He's on a minute restriction, and he's still getting to it. The more aggressive he is -- you see them doubling him tonight -- just freed up shots for everybody." Booker capitalized on being freed with Durant on the floor each of the last two games, scoring 37 points in Charlotte and 35 in Chicago. Booker and Durant accounted for two of the three Phoenix scorers with 20-plus points on Friday, as Josh Okogie finished with 25. As for Durant's playing-time restriction, he played 26:50 and 30:54 in his two initial appearances since joining the Suns after an MCL sprain. |

03-05-23 | Illinois v. Purdue OVER 139.5 | 71-76 | Win | 100 | 3 h 58 m | Show
No. 5 Purdue is the outright Big Ten champion heading into Sunday's regular-season finale at home against Illinois in West Lafayette, Ind. For the Boilermakers (25-5, 14-5), who are still projected by many as a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament, this game will be about keeping players healthy while not damaging their resume. As for six-team logjam behind Purdue in the conference standings, including the Fighting Illini (20-10, 11-8), it's a different matter. Illinois was projected as a No. 8 seed by ESPN on Friday. The Illini enter the weekend in a tie with five other teams (Iowa, Maryland, Indiana, Michigan and Northwestern) for second place in the conference and could use a win over Purdue to boost their tournament outlook. The Boilermakers, who are 3-4 since losing at Indiana on Feb. 4, have not been playing their best basketball for the past month. Purdue is still finding ways to survive and add wins as it did again on Thursday night when it took down host Wisconsin 63-61. |

03-04-23 | Stanford +7.5 v. Oregon | 68-73 | Win | 100 | 6 h 36 m | Show
Two teams trending in the right direction ahead of next week's Pac-12 tournament will meet when Stanford takes on Oregon on Saturday in Eugene, Ore. Oregon (17-13, 11-8) kept its hopes for a first-round bye in the conference tourney alive with an 84-51 win over visiting California on Thursday. The win moved the Ducks into a virtual tie for fourth place in the Pac-12 with Arizona State. Oregon can secure the fourth seed in the tournament in Las Vegas with a win over Stanford and an Arizona State loss to Southern California on Saturday. Stanford (13-17, 7-12) is seeking its third straight win after recording double-digit victories over Washington and Oregon State. Spencer Jones scored 25 points and made five 3-pointers in Thursday's 83-60 win over the Beavers. Brandon Angel had 15 points and Maxime Raynaud added 13 for Stanford, which can finish anywhere from eighth to 10th in the conference depending on Saturday's results. |
|||||||
03-04-23 | Tennessee v. Auburn -2 | 70-79 | Win | 100 | 4 h 46 m | Show
Tennessee coach Rick Barnes continues to stress how resilient his Volunteers have been in handling injuries. That resiliency will be tested Saturday afternoon in the Southeastern Conference regular-season finale at Auburn. The 12th-ranked Vols (22-8, 11-6 SEC) are without starting point guard Zakai Zeigler as they try to clinch a top-four finish in conference and double bye in the SEC tournament. A win over the Tigers (19-11, 9-8) will assure them of that, but a loss leaves them in jeopardy of the league's tie-breaking process depending on how Missouri fares against Ole Miss and Vanderbilt does against Mississippi State this weekend. They are tied at 10-7 in the conference. The Vols could earn a No. 3 seed if Kentucky loses at Arkansas on Saturday. The loss of Zeigler to a season-ending knee injury in Tuesday night's 75-57 win over Arkansas complicates the Vols' prospects. He is one of four Vols scoring in double figures but perhaps more key than his 10.3 average are his league-leading 5.4 assists a game and his team-best 59 steals. |
|||||||
03-04-23 | Iowa State +8 v. Baylor | 73-58 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show
No. 7 Baylor will aim to avenge a 15-point loss to Iowa State earlier this season when it closes the regular season with a home matchup against the slumping Cyclones in Big 12 play on Saturday in Waco, Texas. Iowa State's 77-62 victory on Dec. 31 came when the Cyclones were flying high and it also marked the start of a three-game slide for the Bears. Now the story is vastly different as Baylor (22-8, 11-6 Big 12) has won 12 of its last 15 games to move into a three-way tie for second place. Meanwhile, Iowa State (17-12, 8-9) has dropped four straight and eight of 10 to fall into sixth place. The Cyclones have fallen out of the Top 25 and dismissed third-leading scorer Caleb Grill earlier this week for "a failure to meet the program's expectations." After home losses to Oklahoma and West Virginia, the Cyclones appear to be in a state of decay. |
