04-12-16 | Grizzlies v. Clippers -7.5 | 84-110 | Win | 100 | 11 h 28 m | Show
NBA *LATE SHOW* I like the Los Angeles Clippers to win and cover the spread against the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night. The injury ravaged Grizzlies have lost eight of their last nine games while the Clippers have won nine of their last 10. The Clippers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall and with the Clippers expected to rest players in their finale against Phoenix on Wednesday, Blake Griffin, J.J. Redick, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan are likely to play in this one. Memphis meanwhile is without Mike Conley and Marc Gasol for the rest of the season and playoffs and the Grizzlies also did not have Jordan Adams, Tony Allen and Brandan Wright in Saturday's 100-99 loss to the Warriors. |
04-12-16 | Heat +2.5 v. Pistons | Top | 99-93 | Win | 100 | 19 h 58 m | Show |
Top Rated 10* NBA *BASKET BRAWLER* The Miami Heat are looking to hold on to the No. 4 seed in the East which would give them homecourt advantage in the first round of the playffs. The Detroit Pistons are doomed to travel to either Cleveland or Toronto for their playoff opener, and I think the Heat will come into this game with more motivation. The Heat are off a dominant 118-96 win against the Magic and are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. They had lost two of the season-meetings prior to a 107-89 home-win on April 5 and I think they'll tie up the season-series with a win tonight. |
04-11-16 | Rockets -3 v. Wolves | 129-105 | Win | 100 | 13 h 28 m | Show
NBA The Houston Rockets are battling for a playoff spot and are desperate for a win as they're entering play Monday one game behind the Jazz for No. 8 in the West with only two games to go. Failure is not an option tonight and I expect to see a fired up Houston team. The Rockets caught some momentum with a 130-110 win against the lowly Lakers last night and they're 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Minnesota. The Timberwolves have come to life with three consecutive wins at Golden State, Sacramento and Portland, but they're 0-4 ATS in their last four home at Target Center. |
04-11-16 | Hornets +7 v. Celtics | 114-100 | Win | 100 | 13 h 59 m | Show
NBA I like the Charlotte Hornets to cover the spread in a low-scoring game. The Hornets will be looking to bounce back from a 113-98 loss at Washington on Sunday, and they're 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on no rest and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. The Celtics are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall and the Hornets are 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings in Boston. With both teams battling for homecourt advantage for the playoffs this game will have a playoff like atmosphere and I think we'll see a defensive battle. Â |

04-09-16 | Celtics v. Hawks -5.5 | Top | 107-118 | Win | 100 | 18 h 27 m | Show |
Top Rated *BASKET BRAWLER* The looks like a good spot to back the Atlanta Hawks as they host the Boston Celtics Saturday night. It's a tight race for home-court advantage in the Eastern Conference, and the 3rd placed Hawks and 4th placed Boston can take a big step towards gaining it Saturday night. The teams enter this contest with identical 47-32 records, but home court advantage is swaying this contest in Atlanta's favor IMO. The Hawks have won nine of their last 11 at home and are 6-4 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points this season while the Celtics are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games overall. They're 3-13 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and will be playing on short rest after a 124-109 home win against Milwaukee last night. The Hawks have had an extra day off since an impressive 95-87 win against Toronto Thursday. Jeff Teague scored 23 points against the Raptors and is averaging the same amount over a five-game span. |

04-04-16 | Villanova v. North Carolina -2.5 | 77-74 | Loss | -109 | 31 h 40 m | Show
NCAA Tourney Final The North Carolina Tar Heels are coming into the NCAA Tourney Final as a small favorite against the Villanova Wildcats, and I think they'll win comfortably. Villanova has better shooting from behind the arc, but I don't see them being able to stop the Tar Heels on the inside. |
04-03-16 | Grizzlies +4.5 v. Magic | 107-119 | Loss | -103 | 16 h 5 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The banged up Memphis Grizzlies are entering this contest as losers of five straight, and the situation is getting desperate with only a slim edge over sixth-place Portland in the Western Conference playoff picture and a four-game lead over ninth-place Houston. They're however 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Orlando and this looks like a lot of points to give the Grizzlies. Orlando had recorded three straight wins prior to a 113-110 loss at Milwaukee Friday. Eliminated from playoff contention already I think they'll struggle to motivate themselves to bounce back with a big effort here.  |
04-02-16 | Syracuse +9.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 66-83 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 38 m | Show |
CBB *GAME OF THE YEAR* I like the Syracuse Orange to give the North Carolina Tar Heels a run for their money in this Final Four matchup Saturday night. This will be the third meeting of the season. The Tar Heels won the first game, 84-73 on the road and 75-70 from Chapel Hill later in the season. Syracuse is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings. North Carolina is the only No. 1 seed in this Final Four and the ACC's highest-scoring team at 83 points a game, but I think they'll struggle with Syracuse's solid defense. |
04-01-16 | Heat -7.5 v. Kings | 112-106 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 41 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack This looks like a good spot to back the Miami Heat as they're looking to bounce back from a 102-100 OT loss to the Lakers Wednesday. They're 10-1 ATS in their last 11 Friday night games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss. The Sacramento Kings have won three of their last four and are off a 120-111 against Washington Wednesday. DeMarcus Cousins picked up his league-leading 16th technical, which brings an automatic one-game suspension if upheld. The Kings are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. Miami is battling with Atlanta and Charlotte for the Southeast Division title and the third seed in the East. They'll be pissed off after the embarrasing loss to the Lakers and I expect a big response. The Heat have won the past three meetings, including a 116-109 home win over the Kings on Nov. 19. The Heat are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Sacramento. |
04-01-16 | Raptors v. Grizzlies +5.5 | 99-95 | Win | 100 | 20 h 41 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Memphis Grizzlies are desperate for a win after four consecutive losses. They're still holding on to the fifth seed in the West which would give them the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs and they don't want to drop down to sixth to face the Thunder. "We don't want to just get in the playoffs,"  coach Dave Joerger said after a loss Wednesday. "We want to get fifth, and we want to play the Clippers. This was not a step in the right direction." Memphis is 11-2 ATS in its last 13 vs. Eastern Conference teams and its looking to bounce back from a disappointing 109-105 home loss against Denver Wednesday. The Grizzlies are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games following a straight up loss and 17-8 ATS in their last 25 home games. Raptors are 3-7-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Memphis. With a new franchise record for victories and the Atlantic Division title both secured, the Toronto Raptors may not be thinking about a No. 1 seed. They defeated Atlanta 105-97 at home Wednesday but are 1-4 ATS in their last five vs. Western Conference teams. We can also note that they're in a look ahead spot with a more interesting challenge in the form of a matchup against the Spurs in San Antonio on deck tomorrow. |
03-30-16 | Heat -9.5 v. Lakers | Top | 100-102 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 3 m | Show |
Top Rated NBA *BASKET BRAWLER* The Los Angeles Lakers were obliterated by the Jazz in a 123-75 loss Monday to match the worst loss in team history. This is not a team I expect to bounce back from a poor performance and the Lakers are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. Reports are indicating D'Angelo Russell's teammates are 'isolating' the rookie after a video surfaced in the past week that shows Russell recording a private conversation between himself and teammate Nick Young. No harmony in the Lakers camp, and I don't see them keeping up with the red hot Heat tonight. The Heat recorded their fourth win in five games when they comfortably beat the Nets 110-99 Monday. They're 20-6 ATS in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 2-0 ATS as a road favorite of 9.5 to 12 points this season. The Heat are 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles. |
03-30-16 | Knicks v. Mavs -5 | 89-91 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 31 m | Show
NBA The Dallas Mavericks ended a three-game skid with a 97-88 win at Denver Monday night. They're still desperate for wins though as they seek to overtake the Rockets for the eighth seed in the West, and they should come in motivated for their first game at American Airlines Center since March 20. The Mavs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall while the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven. New York is coming off a pair of losses against Cleveland and New Orleans and the motivation within the team is low. The Knicks have lost 13 of 15 visits to Dallas since 2000, and I don't see the mavs hold anything back tonight. |
03-29-16 | Bulls v. Pacers -7.5 | 98-96 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 21 m | Show
NBA The dysfunctional Chicago Bulls are winless in their last four games, the last in the row a devastating 102-100 home loss against Atlanta last night. Bounce back time tonight at Indiana? I don't think so. The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on no rest and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games. They'll face a Pacers team that has won three of its last four games to build a three-game gap to the ninth-placed Wizards and the 10th placed Bulls in the West. They're 11-2 ATS against division opponents this season and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings wtih the Bulls. They won 104-92 when the Bulls came to visit back in November and have covered the spread in five straight meetings at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Extremely tough spot for the Bulls, and I don't think they have neither the will power or energy to make this a close game. |
03-28-16 | Thunder v. Raptors +3 | 119-100 | Loss | -108 | 19 h 9 m | Show
NBA The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming into this contest riding a seven-game winning streak, but I still don't think they should be favorites in a matchup against the Raptors at Toronto. The Raptors are off a solid 115-91 win at New Orleans Saturday and they're a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last six home games vs. a team with a winning road record. They won 103-98 at Oklahoma City back in November and have covered the spread in each of the last five meetings in the series. The Thunder are off a 111-92 win against the Spurs, but keep in mind that San Antonio rested several starters. The Thunder are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and just 18-27 ATS versus good offensive teams - scoring 99+ points/game this season. The Raptors are 2-0 ATS as a home underdog of 3 points or less this season and 8-2 ATS over the past three seasons. OKC has the No. 3 seed in the West locked down while Toronto can catch Cleveland for the top seed in the East.  |
03-27-16 | Mavs +2 v. Kings | Top | 111-133 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
NBA SUNDAY'S BEST BET *TOP RATED* The Dallas Mavericks are desperate for a win after dropping nine of their last 11. That stretch began with a 104-101 home loss to the Kings but I like the Mavs to revenge that defeat tonight. Dallas has had an extremely tough schedule lately with two losses to Golden State, one at Cleveland, one at Portland and a home win over the Blazers in their last five games. They're 5-1 ATS in their last six though and 4-0 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Kings are off a 116-94 win against Phoenix Friday but they're 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and had failed to cover the spread in seven straight home games prior to beating up on the Suns. Dallas gave forward Dirk Nowitzki the night off Friday to rest up so he should be fresh, looking to improve Dallas' chances of making the playoffs. Sacramento has nothing to play for and I think the more motivated Mavs will take this one down. |
03-26-16 | Hornets -2.5 v. Bucks | 115-91 | Win | 100 | 21 h 36 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack This looks like a great spot to back the Charlotte Hornets to bounce back from a 112-105 defeat to Detroit last night. They're 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a ATS loss and still battling for fourth place in the East. A win would distance themselves from the Bulls who are 4 1/2 games back at ninth place in the conference. The Bucks shot 41.7 percent in a 101-90 loss in Atlanta on Friday, their fourth consecutive loss and they've averaged just 90.0 points in their last three home games. Charlotte has won eight of 11 on the road, has won four straight visits to Milwaukee (4-0 ATS) and claimed a 98-95 victory there Feb. 19. The under is 4-0 in the Bucks last four home games and 5-1 in their last six overall. The under is 5-2 in the Hornets last seven overall and 5-2 in their last seven following a straight up loss. Under is 4-0 in the last four meetings. |
03-25-16 | Nuggets -2.5 v. Lakers | Top | 116-105 | Win | 100 | 22 h 4 m | Show |
Top Rated NBA *BASKET BRAWLER* I like the Denver Nuggets as they travel to LA to take on the Lakers Friday night. Denver has won two of its last three and rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay drained a game-winning 35-foot shot at the buzzer for a 104-103 victory against the 76ers Wednesday. "Honestly, I just want to win as many games as we can this year, whether we don't make the playoffs or not," Mudiay told reporters. "We are trying to change the culture because it's been down for about two years now ..." Sounds like the Nuggets have no intention what-so-ever of tanking the season and they're 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. The Lakers have lost five of their last six (1-5 ATS) and they're 0-5 ATS in the last five when hosting the Nuggets. Kobe Bryant is playing through shoulder pain and might hold the team back if he opts to play. |
03-25-16 | Indiana v. North Carolina -5.5 | 86-101 | Win | 101 | 17 h 31 m | Show
NCAA Tourney *CA$H COW* The No. 1 seeded North Carolina Tar Heels will take on No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers Friday night, and I expect an easy win for the top seeded team. North Carolina won its seventh straight game on Saturday with a solid 85-66 win against No. 9 Providence. They're 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. They've averaged more than 82 points and 64 shots a game this season and have limited 27 straight opponents to less than 45 percent shooting from the field. This team got what it takes to take down the whole tourney and albeit being a solid team, I don't think the Hoosiers can compete with them tonight. The only advantage I can see for the visitors are their shooting from behind the arc, but they were only 6-for-21 from 3-point land in Saturday's win against Kentucky. |
03-25-16 | Gonzaga -4.5 v. Syracuse | Top | 60-63 | Loss | -110 | 108 h 15 m | Show |
NCAA Tourney Sweet 16 *GAME OF THE YEAR* I like the Gonzaga Bulldogs to pick up a dominant win against the Syracuse Orange Friday night to move into the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs have started the tourney by defeating the number six seed Seton Hall Pirates by a score of 68-52 and destroying the number three seed Utah 82-59. They're 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Orange are off a 70-51 victory over number seven seed Dayton followed by a 75-50 win over number 15 seed Middle Tennessee State. They're just 1-4 ATS in their last five NCAA Tournament games as an underdog though and I think they'll struggle with a Zags team that are shooting the ball better and will dominate the boards. Gonzaga averages nine more points per game than Syracuse this season, and combine that with a superior defense for the Zags and I'm sure you'll agree that this is an easy play on the Bulldogs. |
03-24-16 | Cavs v. Nets +8 | 95-104 | Win | 100 | 17 h 41 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Cleveland Cavaliers are off a 113-104 home win against Milwaukee last night, but I think they'll be in for a tougher matchup at Brooklyn here the following day. Cleveland is 10-6 SU in the second half of back-to-back sets this season and Tyronne Lue said he would consult with the training staff to decide who will sit. "It could be a possibility that guys will sit out," Lue said. We can note that the Cavs are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 vs. Eastern Conference and 3-11-2 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 1-5 ATS as a road favorite of 6.5 to 9 points this season. The Nets are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Brook Lopez starred with 29 points in Tuesday's 105-100 loss against the Hornets and leads the Nets with 38 points and 19 boards through two meetings with the Cavs this season. |
03-22-16 | Grizzlies -3 v. Lakers | 100-107 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 19 m | Show
NBA *LATE SHOW* The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Suns 103-97 at Phoenix last night and I like them to pick up another win at LA tonight despite playing on a back-to-back. The Grizzlies are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games playing on no rest and 7-1 ATS in their last eight after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Los Angeles Lakers are entering this contest on a four-game losing streak, the most recent setback a 95-90 home loss to Phoenix Friday. They're 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss and they've lost all three meetings with Memphis this season by an average of 14.0 points allowing the Grizzlies to shoot 54.4 percent from the field. The Grizzlies spread out their minutes well last night as only two players logged more than 30 minutes (Randolph 30 and Barnes 35) while nine players logged 19+. Fatigue should not be an issue, and I expect the Grizzlies to roll over the Lakers with ease. |
03-21-16 | Wizards v. Hawks -6 | 117-102 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 51 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack This looks like a good spot to back the Atlanta Hawks as they host the Washington Wizards for the first round of a home-and-home set Monday night. The Wizards are riding a four-game winning streak after wins against Detroit, Chicago, Philly and New York, but they're 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 0-5 ATS in their last five road games. The Hawks are riding a five-game winning streak and they've won 10 of their last 12, holding opponents to 91.8 points per game on 39.2 percent shooting over that span. They're off a 109-97 win against Houston Saturday and 6-0 ATS in their last six following a straight up win of more than 10 points and 7-0 ATS in their last seven after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Wizards are 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings and the Hawks won 114-99 at home back in November. |
03-21-16 | Kings v. Bulls -6.5 | 102-109 | Win | 100 | 18 h 49 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack This looks like an excellent spot to back the Chicago Bulls are they'll host a Sacramento Kings team fresh off an 88-80 win at New York yesterday. The Kings are 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on no rest and 0-4 ATS in their last four when their starting five players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day. The Bulls are off a pair of comfortable wins against Brooklyn and Utah and 5-0 ATS in their last five home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Chicago won 107-102 at Sacramento on Feb. 3 and the Kings are just 4-13 revenging a home loss vs. an opponent this season and 6-14 ATS versus good offensive teams - scoring 99+ points/game in the 2nd half of the season. The Bulls will attempt to further their playoff push currently tied with the Pistons for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East with 14 games remaining. The Kings don't have anything to play for other than pride, and that motivation must be pretty low here in the tail-end of a back-to-back. |
03-21-16 | Warriors -11.5 v. Wolves | Top | 109-104 | Loss | -101 | 18 h 50 m | Show |
Top Rated NBA I have no doubt that the Golden State Warriors will come into this contest with the Minnesota Timberwolves looking to inflict maximum damage on their opponent after Saturday's 87-79 loss at San Antonio, their worst offensive performance this season. Golden State is 4-2 ATS after their previous six defeats this season and 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss. They're 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on one days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last five Monday night games. The Timberwolves upset the Grizzlies at Memphis with a 114-108 win Wednesday but were back to their losing ways with a 116-11 loss at Houston two days later. They're 12-28-1 ATS in their last 41 home games and the Warriors are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Minnesota. Stephen Curry was just 1-of-12 from 3-point land in the loss against the Spurs but he'll get more open shots tonight and I expect a big performance from the baby faced assassin. |

03-20-16 | Clippers -7 v. Pelicans | 105-109 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 23 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Los Angeles Clippers entered yesterday's matchup against the Grizzlies at Memphis as massive favorites but ended up an 11-points loser. They're 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss and I expect them to bounce back with a big win against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. The Pels are off a 117-112 loss to Portland on Friday as their superstar Anthony Davis was limited to just 14 minutes with knee and shoulder ailments. "I wouldn't say no to that. I wouldn't say no to that," coach Alvin Gentry told reporters Saturday regarding shutting down the forward for the remainder of the season and Davis is likely to sit out tonight's contest. The Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games when playing a back-to-back so I don't think fatigue will be an issue, and the Clippers need a win jostling for best position possible for the playoffs. |
03-19-16 | Connecticut v. Kansas -8 | 61-73 | Win | 100 | 17 h 33 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* Ninth seeded Connecticut Huskies will be matched up against the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks Saturday and this should be a very one-sided affair. The Huskies are riding a five-game winning streak and downed eighth seed Colorado 74-67 Thursday. None of the wins were against teams with a winning record though and we can note that they're 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 as an underdog. The Jayhawks are 12-3 ATS last 15 overall and off a 105-79 drubbing of the 16th seeded Austin Peay. The Jayhawks haven’t lost since an 85-72 defeat at Iowa State on Jan. 25, and are averaging 85.3 points over their last six outings. I don't see how the Huskies will be able to keep up with this superior team, particularly considering the schedule has allowed Kansas to rest key players while Connecticut has played tons of tough matchups. |
03-18-16 | Blazers +1.5 v. Pelicans | 117-112 | Win | 100 | 20 h 32 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* This looks like a good spot to back the Portland Trail Blazers as they look to bounce back from a pair of losses, the most recent a 118-110 setback at San Antonio last night. Portland is 4-1 ATS in its last five Friday night games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up loss. Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum have not been at their very best lately but Lillard is averaging 25.5 points and seven assists through three meetings with New Orleans this season while McCollum is averaging 24 points. The New Orleans Pelicans concluded a five-game trek by ending a four-game skid with a 123-108 win at Sacramento Wednesday. They're 0-7 ATS last seven games on Friday nights and 3-10 ATS off an upset win as an underdog this season. The Trail Blazers are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and I'm happy taking the points on the way better team here, even though they're playing on back-to-back nights. |
03-18-16 | Wolves v. Rockets -8 | 111-116 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 20 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack In addition to play this contest to go over the total, I also recommend a small play on Houston to win in a blowout fashion. The Rockets are off a 122-106 home loss to the Clippers and they've since held had a players-only-meeting. Patrick Beverly: "I feel sorry for the team we play tomorrow. We came out with a lack of intensity. I didn't agree with coach J.B. (Bickerstaff) yesterday, but looking at the game a lot, I definitely have to agree with him today. We had those meetings and watched that film, it forces you to burn a fire inside to get ready for the next opponent. That's what our focus is. Our focus is Minnesota. We need a win. We're going to get a win tomorrow." Houston is 5-1 ATS in its last six games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points and 6-2 ATS in its last eight home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. I'm counting on a big bounce back from the Rockets tonight. |

03-17-16 | Stony Brook v. Kentucky -14 | 57-85 | Win | 100 | 21 h 47 m | Show
NCAA East Region *HARDWOOD HAMMER* I predict an absolute massacre when the Kentucky Wildcats will take on the Stony Brook Seawolves in this East Region NCAA Tournament matchup Thursday night. The Seawolves are 0-5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall while the Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last five. The SEC tournament champions have an experienced squad and coaches having reached the Final Four in each of their last four NCAA Tournament appearances while Stony Brook is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance. |

03-17-16 | Blazers v. Spurs -11.5 | 110-118 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 59 m | Show
NBAÂ The Portland Trail Blazers have had a rough month of March dropping five of their eight games, the most recent a 128-94 setback at Oklahoma City Monday. I don't like their chances of bouncing back with a win when they visit the San Antonio Spurs Thursday night. The Spurs are a perfect 33-0 SU home at AT&T Center this season and 9-2 ATS as a home favorite of 9.5 to 12 points. They took the first two meetings this season, including a 93-80 home win on Nov. 16 and are 6-1 ATS in the last seven when hosting the Trail Blazers who are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. I think the Spurs will give it their all here to get the best dress rehearsal possible before Saturday's matchup against the Warriors while the Trail Blazers might look ahead for tomorrow's contest at New Orleans which they'll have a better chance of winning. |
03-17-16 | Hornets v. Heat -3.5 | Top | 109-106 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 13 m | Show |
Top Rated *BASKET BRAWLER* Very interesting matchup from the Eastern Conference as the third-placed Miami Heat host the sixth-placed Charlotte Hornets. Only 0.5 games separates the teams, so we're sure to see both sides come out and play hard. I'll give the Heat the advantage as they're well rested since a 124-119 wni against the Nuggets Monday and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on two days rest. The Hornets meanwhile are coming off a 107-99 home win against Orlando last night and they're 1-4 ATS in their last five when their starting five players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day. Charlotte has won 14 of its past 17 games, but the majority of these games were at home, and it has been outscored by an average of 12.2 points in losing the last 14 meetings in Miami, including the playoffs. |
03-17-16 | Raptors +2.5 v. Pacers | 101-94 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show
8* NBA Let's go with the Toronto Raptors as a small underdog at Indiana Pacers Thursday night. The Pacers have won four of their last five games and they're coming off a 103-98 home triumph over the Boston Celtics, but they're just 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up win and 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games. The Raptors are trying to chase down the Cavs for the top spot in the East and crushed the Milwaukee Bucks 107-89 Tuesday despite the fact that DeMar DeRozan was given the night off. They're 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Indiana earned a 106-90 win at home over Toronto on Dec. 14 but we can note that the Raptors are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Indiana and 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall. |
03-17-16 | Butler -4 v. Texas Tech | 71-61 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show
CBB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* S-P-E-C-I-A-L The Butler Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall and I like them to win and cover the spread against the Texas Tech Red Raiders Thursday afternoon. Texas Tech are 1-3 SU in its last four games and fell to last-place TCU in the Big 12 tournament. It is 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight vs. Big East and 3-13 ATS in its last 16 neutral site games. The Bulldogs had won three straight prior to a 74-60 loss to Providence in their conference tourney, but there's no shame in losing to such a strong team and they're 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss. |
03-16-16 | Knicks v. Warriors -15 | Top | 85-121 | Win | 100 | 23 h 59 m | Show |
Top Rated The Golden State Warriors are in a great spot here. They'll play hard going for a 50th consecutive home win and will have a day off before taking on the Mavs Friday night. The Warriors are off a 125-107 win over New Orleans on Monday when Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all had the luxury of sitting out the fourth quarter, so their starters will be fresh for this contest. The Warriors are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games playing on one days rest and 19-9-1 ATS in their last 29 Wednesday games. The New York Knicks have picked themselves up after a terrible month of February and have split their last six games SU. They're however 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings with the Warriors and 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Golden State. Carmelo Anthony has been limited to 15.3 points and 28.6 percent in his last three road games against Golden State, and there's just no way the Knicks will keep this game even remotely close. |
03-16-16 | Hawks +1 v. Pistons | 118-114 | Win | 100 | 20 h 58 m | Show
Wednesday NBA The Atlanta Hawks are playing some real solid basketball right now and have been rewarded with the win in seven of their last nine games, holding opponents to an 88.1 points per game average on 37.8 percent shooting in that span. They're coming off a 104-75 rout of the Pacers Sunday and are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on two days rest. The inconsistent Detroit Pistons are in a very different position coming off a 124-81 loss at Washington Monday. They're 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games playing on one days rest. The Hawks have won eight of the past 12 meetings. |
03-15-16 | Florida v. North Florida +8.5 | 97-68 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 23 m | Show
NIT *DESTROYER* Let's take the points on North Florida Osprey against Florida Gators Tuesday night. North Florida lead the nation with 402 made 3-pointers and are averaging 84.8 points per game. Florida is very inconsistent both defensively and offensively and will struggle to stop the Osprey's shooting from behind the perimeter. Gators are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |
03-15-16 | Clippers v. Spurs -9 | Top | 87-108 | Win | 100 | 19 h 49 m | Show |
Top Rated *MAIN EVENT* The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a 114-90 home defeat to the Cavs Sunday and I think more pain is coming their way as they visit another top tier team in the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday night. The Spurs will be extremely fired up looking to revenge a 105-86 loss at LA on Feb. 18. They're 13-3 ATS in their last 16 when playing on same season double-digit loss revenge and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The demoralized Clippers will stand no chance here. |
03-14-16 | Wolves +1.5 v. Suns | 104-107 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 22 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack Yes please, give me the Minnesota Timberwolves as a small road dog at Phoenix Suns Monday night. The Wolves opened a four-game road-trip with a 99-96 win at Oklahoma City Friday night. Let down spot tonight? I don't think so, keep in mind that Minny is 9-4 ATS coming off an upset win as an underdog this season and it is 4-1 ATS in its last five games playing on 2 days rest. The Suns on the other hand are coming off a mentally tough defeat to the Warriors as they entered the fourth quarter with a nine point lead but ended up a 123-116 loser. They're 4-22 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and the Timberwolves are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Phoenix. It's always tough to predict when these bottom dwelling teams will come out to play, but I have the Wolves as the far more talented team and they have plenty of positive momentum after the win against OKC. |
03-14-16 | Blazers +8 v. Thunder | 94-128 | Loss | -105 | 20 h 22 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Oklahoma City Thunder are off a pair of defeats against Minnesota and San Antonio. Monday's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers will be another tough test. Portland has won two of its last three with the lone loss coming at Golden State. It's 9-3 ATS in its last 12 vs. Western Conference and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Thunder have been overpriced by oddsmakers all season long and they're just 25-38 ATS overall this season. They'll be looking to revenge a 115-110 loss at Portland on Jan. 10 but are only 7-14 when revenging a loss vs. opponent on the season. Both teams rely on their offense to win games and we can note that the Trail Blazers are 28-19 ATS vs. poor defensive teams that are allowing 99+ points/game while the Thunder are 17-30 ATS. |
03-14-16 | Mavs v. Hornets -6.5 | 107-96 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 23 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack I like the red hot Charlotte Hornets to take care of business against the slumping Dallas Mavericks Monday night. The Hornets are entering this contest on the back of seven consecutive victories (6-1 ATS) and they've averaged 118 points during the winning streak. They've had a very comfortable schedule as this will be their sixth straight contest home at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Hornets are off a dominant 125-109 win against Houston Saturday and they're 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. The Dallas Mavericks meanwhile have lost five straight (0-5 ATS) despite playing the last three at home. They're 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The Mavs have some serious issues and I don't see them being able to compete with Charlotte tonight. |
03-13-16 | Kentucky -3.5 v. Texas A&M | 82-77 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* This looks like a good spot to back the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC Tournament final. The Wildcats are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 Sunday games. They'll be looking to revenge a 79-77 in overtime loss to Texas A&M on Feb. 20. The Aggies are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall and off a 71-38 demolition of LSU yesterday. We can however note that Texas A&M is 3-9-1 ATS in its last 13 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. The reigning SEC Tournament the Wildcats are playing in the SEC tournament final for the sixth time in coach John Calipari’s seven years as head coach. The Aggies meanwhile are in their first conference tournament final since 1990. Easy play on the more experienced Wildcats. |
03-12-16 | Rockets v. Hornets -4.5 | 109-125 | Win | 100 | 19 h 15 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Houston Rockets have won three of their first four of a five-game road trip, the most recent a 102-98 win at Boston last night. I don't like their chances as they close out the trek with visiting the scorching hot Charlotte Hornets tonight though. Charlotte is entering the game on the back of six consecutive wins and it will be looking to revenge a 102-95 loss at Houston back in December. The Hornets are 21-15 revenging a loss vs. an opponent this season and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The favorite is 15-4-2 ATS in the last 21 meetings between these two teams, and I like the Hornets to win and cover. |
03-12-16 | Pistons -10 v. 76ers | 125-111 | Win | 100 | 19 h 57 m | Show
NBA *SATURDAY BLOWOUT* The Detroit Pistons will be looking to bounce back from a 118-103 loss at Charlotte last night. They're strong at the back-end of back-to-backs going covering the spread in each of their last five and they're a solid 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The 76ers on the other hand are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on no days rest and a pathetic 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. They did defeat the Nets 95-89 last night but had lost 13 straight leading up to that game. Philly is 0-8 ATS as a home underdog of 9.5 to 12 points on the season and I don't think the bookmakers have set this spread high enough. |
03-12-16 | Connecticut v. Temple +3.5 | Top | 77-62 | Loss | -116 | 15 h 41 m | Show |
CBB *PLAY OF THE DAY* Extremely tough spot for the UConn Huskies here as they're off a four-overtime 104-97 win against Cincinnati yesterday. They're 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The top seeded Temple Owls had a smoother ride as they took off with a 79-62 win against South Florida yesterday. They're 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and they swept the regular season 55-53 and 63-58. |
03-12-16 | Pacers +1 v. Mavs | Top | 112-105 | Win | 100 | 16 h 40 m | Show |
Top Rated NBA *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Indiana Pacers impressed mightily in a 99-91 win against the Spurs Monday for their third win in four games. I don't think we have to worry about a let down game for Indiana which is 6-1 ATS off an upset win as an underdog and 7-1 ATS when playing with three of more days of rest over the last three seasons. The reeling Dallas Mavericks are coming into the game as losers of four straight (0-4 ATS) and they're 1-6 ATS in their last seven games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. Indiana has taken three straight in the series, including a 107-81 home victory on Dec. 16 and is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall, 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Dallas. |
03-11-16 | Kansas -5 v. Baylor | Top | 66-70 | Loss | -101 | 17 h 57 m | Show |
Top Rated CBB Friday I expect to see an easy win for the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks as they take on the No. 20 Baylor Bears Friday night. The Jayhawks won both meetings during the regular season, 102-74 at home and 66-60 on the road. They're 6-0-1 ATS in the last seven meetings and took care of business easily yesterday with an 85-63 win against Kansas State. They're 5-0 ATS in their last five neutral site games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Bears impressed in a 75-61 win against the Longhorns, but they're 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up win and 0-4 ATS in their last four Friday games. Kansas is coming in hot, riding a 12-game winning streak, and it has dominated this series in recent seasons. Easy Kansas win. |
03-11-16 | Florida v. Texas A&M -4.5 | 66-72 | Win | 100 | 2 h 31 m | Show
CBB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Texas A&M Aggies wrapped up the regular season with six straight wins (5-1 ATS). The Florida Gators are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 vs. teams with a winning record. Florida has won four of the six previous meetings but Texas A&M took a 71-68 home win in the lone meeting this season and the Aggies have the advantage of coming in well rested since a 76-67 win at home over Vanderbilt Saturday while the Gators fought back Arkansas 68-61 yesterday. |
03-11-16 | South Florida v. Temple -11 | 62-79 | Win | 100 | 1 h 55 m | Show
Super Early CBB This should be an easy win for the Temple Owls. The South Florida Bulls are coming off a 71-66 win against East Carolina yesterday while Temple is coming in well rested. The Owls won the two regular season meetings 70-63 and 77-65. A bigger win is in the cards today. Â |
03-10-16 | Suns v. Nuggets -7 | 98-116 | Win | 100 | 21 h 58 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Suns came into last night's contest against the Knicks on the back of a pair of wins against Orlando and Memphis but reverted back to their losing ways in a 128-97 defeat. They're 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on no days rest and 5-21 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record. The Nuggets are off a pair of wins against Dallas and New York and have averaged 115.8 points during their last four games, scoring 100 or more points in seven of the past 10 contests. The Sun are extremely poor in the defensive end of the court so points should come easy for Denver tonight. |
03-10-16 | Alabama v. Ole Miss -2.5 | 81-73 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 55 m | Show
NCAAB 3-Pack The Ole Miss Rebels will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the second round of the SEC Tournament Thursday evening. Ole Miss is entering the tournament as winners of four of its last five and it's 9-3-1 ATS in its last 13 overall. Alabama on the other hand struggled down the stretch (0-5 ATS last five) and rely too much on senior guard Retin Obasohan. The Rebels have a more balanced team and have owned the Crimson Tie in recent seasons, winning seven of the last 10 head-to-head meetings, a 74-66 home victory on Jan. 7 included. |
03-10-16 | Penn State +6 v. Ohio State | 75-79 | Win | 100 | 14 h 25 m | Show
NCAAB 3-Pack I'm taking the points on Penn State Nittany Lions against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big 10 Tournament Thursday night. Penn State will be looking to revenge a 66-46 loss to the Buckeyes on Jan. 25. It won four of its last six regular season games and is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games. The Buckeyes on the other hand are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 neutral site games. Ohio State wrapped up the season winning six of seven with the lone loss against Michigan State. This spread looks too large though so I recommend taking the the points on the Nittany Lions. |
03-10-16 | Northwestern v. Michigan -2 | 70-72 | Push | 0 | 8 h 56 m | Show
NCAAB 3-Pack This looks like a good spot to back the Michigan Wolverines as they take on the Northwestern Wildcats in the second round of the Big 10 Tournament. The Wolverines beat Northwestern 72-63 in their only meeting of the season. They lost four of five games down the stretch of the regular season, the most recent a 71-61 setback against Iowa. We can however note that they're 14-5 ATS last 19 following a double-digit loss at home. and a solid 27-9-1 ATS last 37 Thursday games. The Wildcats meanwhile are only 4-10 ATS last 14 Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |
03-09-16 | Syracuse v. Pittsburgh -2 | 71-72 | Loss | -107 | 13 h 48 m | Show
Super Early *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Pittsburgh Panthers have already defeated the Syracuse Orange twice this season (72-61 & 66-52). I expect them to get the job done in the second round of the ACC Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum Wednesday afternoon. The Orange are coming into this contest as losers of two in a row and four of their last five games. They're 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against teams with winning records and 6-19-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings with the Panthers. Pittsburgh is coming off back-to-back losses at the hands of Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, but it is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 games following an ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in its last five neutral site games. Syracuse is struggling with its rebounding game and has been out-rebounded by a combined margin of 205 to 149 over its last five games. Pitt won the battle on the boards 43 to 23 in the last meeting and such grittiness and determination should prove crucial in this matchup. |
03-07-16 | BYU v. Gonzaga -3 | 84-88 | Win | 100 | 20 h 7 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* I like the Gonzaga Bulldogs as they host the BYU Cougars in the West Coast Conference Tournament Monday night. The Zags are a fantastic 10-1 ATS in their last 11 Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Cougars are a lowly 1-6 ATS in their last seven Monday games and just 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 head-to-head meetings with the Zags. The Bulldogs won 71-68 at BYU on Feb. 27 and should get the job done in their own gymnasium tonight. |
03-07-16 | Clippers v. Mavs +4.5 | 109-90 | Loss | -105 | 20 h 24 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Dallas Mavericks are off back-to-back defeats against sub-.500 teams, and I've lost with them in both contests. Third times the charm, and I fully expect the Mavs to bounce back with a win tonight. While it's true that they're off a rather devastating 116-114 OT loss at Denver last night, I think they'll be more pissed off than anything and turn that rage into something positive. We can note that they're 15-7 ATS in their last 22 home games and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in this series. Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points Sunday for his second 30-point performance in six games. Nowitzki is averaging 23.5 points and nine rebounds against the Clippers this season and had 31 points and 11 rebounds in a 118-108 home victory back in November. The Clippers are off a loss as well as they fell 107-97 against Atlanta Saturday. Clippers are a rather inconsistent team, and I don't really trust them as a road favorite here at Dallas. |
03-06-16 | Mavs -2.5 v. Nuggets | 114-116 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 33 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack I have the Dallas Mavericks to win a high-scoring encounter as they host the Denver Nuggets Sunday afternoon. The Mavs are off a 104-101 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday but I expect a better offensive output from them today. The over is 9-1 in the Mavs last 10 overall and they're 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. They're 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games. The Nuggets are off a 121-120 in overtime to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday and the over is 6-2 in their last eight overall. They're 2-6 ATS in that span and 2-7 ATS in the last nine when hosting the Mavs. Over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in the series and 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Denver. The Mavs will have an extremely tough schedule in the upcoming weeks and they can't afford to give up a win against a sub-.500 team and to beat Denver they need to put up plenty of points. |
03-06-16 | Temple -6 v. Tulane | 64-56 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show
CBB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Temple Owls have already claimed the top seed in the AAC tourney but I think they'll come to play when visiting last-place Tulane Green Wave Sunday afternoon. The Owls have won three of four since a non-conference loss to then-No. 1 Villanova, the most recent a 10-point victory against Memphis. They're 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games vs. a team with a losing home record while the Green Wave have lost three of their last four at home and they're 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. There's a huge difference in quality between these two teams, and homecourt advantage won't be nearly enough to make up for it. |
03-05-16 | Kings v. Spurs -12.5 | 94-104 | Loss | -115 | 21 h 9 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack Backing the San Antonio Spurs as big favorites have been money all season long as they're 7-3 ATS as a home favorite of 12.5 to 15 points and 38-21 ATS as a favorite regardless of the spread. They Spurs are coming off seven consecutive wins and are a solid 20-6 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The Kings are 11-19 SU on the road this season and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games. They put an end to a four-game skid with a 104-101 win at Dallas Thursday but I think they'll find it hard to refocus for this game on such short notice. The Spurs have taken five straight in the series and won the first two this season by an average of 17 points. |
03-05-16 | Pistons -4.5 v. Knicks | 89-102 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 41 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Detroit Pistons will be looking to bounce back from a 97-81 loss at San Antonio Wednesday. They had recorded four straight prior to that setback though and I think they'll get back to their winning ways against the reeling New York Knicks Saturday. The Knicks are losers of three straight and 16 of their last 19. They lost 105-104 at Boston last night and could find it hard to match the Pistons' tempo tonight. They're a woeful 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games while averaging 93.6 points on 41.4 percent shooting and they're 1-6 ATS as a home underdog of 3.5 to 6 points this season. The Pistons have lost 10 of their last 12 road games against the Knicks, but this looks like a good spot to go against that trend. |
03-05-16 | Celtics +7 v. Cavs | 103-120 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 40 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a 108-83 rout of the Wizards last night as they revenged a 113-99 loss at Washington the previous week. Odds are they'll have an off game when hosting the Boston Celtics here the next day though. The Celtics were also in action last night as they defeated the Knicks 105-104 home in Boston. They're playing good solid basketball right now riding a five-game winning streak and they're a solid 6-0 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. They're 38-14-1 ATS in their last 53 games playing on no days rest and a fantastic 14-5-1 ATS in the last 20 Saturday night games on the road. Cleveland is 2-5-1 ATS in its last eight games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and I think Boston will threaten to win this game outright. |
03-05-16 | Santa Clara v. BYU -15 | 60-72 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 49 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* I'm looking for the BYU Cougars to absolutely annihilate the Santa Clara Cougars in their West Coast Conference tournament quarterfinal Saturday afternoon. BYU swept the season series this year, winning 97-61 at home January 7 and 96-62 on the road February 13, and it should get the job done on neutral ground in Vegas today. The Cougars closed out the regular season with a loss 71-68 home loss to Gonzaga, but they're 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight up loss and 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 after an ATS loss. Â |
03-04-16 | Blazers v. Raptors -5 | 115-117 | Loss | -105 | 21 h 33 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack Portland has lost just three times in its last 17 games, one being a 110-103 home defeat to Toronto on Feb. 4. I think they Blazers will run into trouble against the Raptors once again as they travel to Toronto looking to bounce back from a 116-93 loss at Boston Wednesday night. They Blazers are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and will come up against a Raptors team that is a solid 8-3 ATS in its last 11 home games. The Trail Blazers have an impressive backcourt, but so does the Raptors and Kyle Lowry scored a career-high 43 points in a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers last Friday and he put up another 32 in Wednesday's 104-94 home win against Utah. The Blazers will play their third game in four nights while the Raptors have played only one game so far this week. I don't think Portland will be able to match the Raptors tempo in this matchup. |

03-04-16 | Pacers v. Hornets -2.5 | Top | 101-108 | Win | 100 | 20 h 51 m | Show |
Top Rated *BASKET BRAWLER* The Indiana Pacers put an end to a three-game slide with a 104-99 win at Milwaukee Wednesday. They're however 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up win and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game, and I don't like their chances at Charlotte Friday night. The Hornets are 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in the series and defeated the Pacers 96-95 at Indiana on Feb. 26. They're off a 119-99 win at Philly and 6-0 ATS in their last six games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and a solid 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. These two teams are battling for sixth place in the Eastern Conference so we have no reason to think either team will come anything but 100% motivated. That leads me to believe we'll see the hotter Hornets take this one down. |
03-03-16 | California v. Arizona -6 | 61-64 | Loss | -112 | 18 h 8 m | Show
PAC-12 *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Arizona Wildcats will come into this contest looking to revenge a  74-73 loss at Berkeley on Jan. 23. They're still 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and we can note that they were without freshman guard Allonzo Trier who has averaged 18 points over his last five games. The California Golden Bears are far worse on the road than at home sitting on a 3-8 SU record away from Haas Pavilion. They're 1-4 ATS in their last five road games vs. a team with a winning home record while the Wildcats are a solid 15-1 SU at home and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. The Wildcats are off back-to-back losses at Colorado and Utah, but I expect them to win big in their own building Thursday night. |
03-03-16 | Kings v. Mavs -5.5 | 104-101 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 20 m | Show
NBA I think the Dallas Mavericks will win a high-scoring contest when they host the Sacramento Kings Thursday night. The Kings are losers of four straight, the most recent a 104-98 setback at Mephis last night as they kicked off a four-game road trip. They're a pathetic 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Mavs are playing well right now and coming off a day of rest since they recorded a third consecutive win with a 121-108 victory against Orlando Tuesday. They're a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games playing on one days rest and 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. The over is 8-2 in the Kings last 10 overall and 10-1 in the Mavs last 11 and Dallas is coming off three straight wins with at least 120 points scored. Sacramento is averaging 107.5 ppg on the road this season while conceding 111.2 ppg and Dallas is scoring a healthy 105.4 ppg home at American Airlines Center. Over is 14-5 in the last 19 meetings in Dallas. |
03-02-16 | Creighton v. Providence -3 | 66-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The Providence Friars will close out their home schedule with a matchup against the Creighton Bluejays Wednesday night, and I think they'll want to put on a show for the home town crowd. Providence has already defeated Creighton once this season, a 50-48 road win on Jan. 12, and it is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 home games vs. a team with a losing road record (Creighton is 4-6 SU on the road). They're off a 87-66 blowout victory over DePaul and have usually been able to capitalize on the momentum gained from big wins as they're 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. The Bluejays ended a two-game losing streak with a 100-59 rout of St. John’s at home Saturday, but this won't be an easy game and we can note that they're 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings with the Friars. |
03-02-16 | Wizards v. Wolves +3.5 | 104-98 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 40 m | Show
NBA *CA$H COW* The Washington Wizards are coming off three consecutive wins, but let's put that into perspective; They defeated the lowly 76ers twice and posted a 113-99 win against a LeBron James-less Cavs team that didn't care much about that game. Tonight they'll visit a Minnesota Timberwolves team that is back from a three-game trip, and the Wolves have been competitive home at Target Center lately going 7-2 ATS in the last nine contests in front of the home fans. They're off a 128-101 loss at Dallas Sunday but are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a ATS loss and a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four Wednesday night games. Timberwolves rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns has recorded a double-double in 15 of the last 18 games, and I think the youthful Wolves will give the visitors a serious run for their money tonight. We can also note that the home team has taken each of the last six in the series, with Minnesota earning a 97-77 win on its home floor last season and the Wizards are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Minnesota. |
03-01-16 | Nets +1.5 v. Lakers | 101-107 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 6 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Brooklyn Nets had recorded back-to-back wins against Utah and Phoenix before losing 105-95 to the Clippers here in LA last night. They gave the Clippers a scare though as they entered the fourth quarter trailing by just five points, and I think they'll bounce back with a win against the lowly Lakers Tuesday night. The Lakers have lost eight straight and they're 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games vs. a team with a losing road record. They'll come into this contest well rested as their last game was a 112-95 loss against the Grizzlies last Friday, but they're just 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on three or more days rest. The under is 6-1 in the Lakers last seven home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400, and they might opt to limit the starters minutes with a game at Denver on deck tomorrow. We can also note that the under is 5-1 in their six home games when the total was greater than or equal to 210 this season. Under is 7-3 in the Nets last 10 games playing on no days rest and 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in this series. |
02-29-16 | Syracuse v. North Carolina -13 | 70-75 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 50 m | Show
CBB *HARDWOOD HAMMER* I'm gonna take a stab at the North Carolina Tar Heels as they host the Syracuse Orange Monday night. The Tar Heels are off a 79-74 loss at Virginia Saturday, but keep in mind that when North Carolina lost to Duke at home on Feb. 17, they beat Miami by 25 in their next game. They need to win here to have any aspirations of winning the ACC and they beat the Orange 84-73 on the road on Jan. 9. Syracuse avoided a third straight loss Saturday when it defeated North Carolina State 75-66. It's just 4-11-1 ATS in its last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 though and I expect the Tar Heels to make this a very one-sided affair. |
02-28-16 | Michigan v. Wisconsin -5 | 57-68 | Win | 100 | 16 h 29 m | Show
CBB The Michigan Wolverines put an end to a two game skid with a 72-63 home win over Northwestern Wednesday. They're just 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight up win though and I don't like their chances at Wisconsin Sunday night. The Badgers won their second straight and ninth in the last 10 with a 67-59 road upset of #8 Iowa Wednesday. They're 8-1 ATS in their last nine after a straight up win and 7-1 ATS in their last eight vs. teams with a winning record. We can also note that they've dominated this series in recent seasons winning three straight and eight of the last 10 meetings. |
02-28-16 | Hornets +4 v. Hawks | 76-87 | Loss | -103 | 15 h 18 m | Show
NBA *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Charlotte Hornets are red hot with six wins in their last seven games (5-2 ATS). They're coming off a 96-95 win over the Pacers Friday and are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The Atlanta Hawks ended a three-game skid with a 103-88 win against the Bulls Friday, but they're 2-8-2 ATS in their last 12 Sunday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. Charlotte snapped a three-game losing streak in the series with a 107-84 home win on Jan. 13 and it lost the previous two meetings this season by two and three points respectively. The Hornets are playing good basketball right now and should definitely threaten to win this one outright. |
02-27-16 | Warriors -2.5 v. Thunder | 121-118 | Win | 100 | 20 h 29 m | Show
NBA *MAIN EVENT* All eyes will be on this Western Conference clash between the Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday night. The Warriors stumbled out of the All Star break with a 137-105 loss at Portland but they've responded with four consecutive wins, all on the road. The Warriors are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall, but they always seem be looking to make a statement in marquee matchups and I think they'll steamroll the Thunder tonight. OKC has loat three of its last four and fell 123-119 at New Orleans Thursday. They're 1-7 ATS in their last eight games playing on one days rest, 2-10 off an upset loss as a favorite and 1-4 ATS as an underdog this season. Steph Curry is on fire averaging 36.6 points and shooting 52.5% from 3-point land in five games since the All-Star break. I don't see the Thunder being able to slow him down. |
02-27-16 | Heat +6 v. Celtics | 89-101 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 27 m | Show
NBA *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Miami Heat had won three straight prior to a 118-112 loss against the Warriors Wednesday. They're playing well even without Chris Bosh who is out with a blood clot issue and they're 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on two days rest and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. The Boston Celtics defeated the Bucks 112-107 Thursday but have been inconsistent and alternated wins and losses through their last six games. They're going for a 10th consecutive home win, but the underdog is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two Eastern Conference foes, and with the teams jostling for third place in the Eastern Conference I expect another tight battle and see great value taking the points on the visitors. |
02-27-16 | Oklahoma v. Texas +1 | 63-76 | Win | 102 | 4 h 45 m | Show
CBB The Texas Longhorns are coming off a 71-70 victory at Kansas State on Monday. They'll enter this contest looking to revenge a 63-60 defeat in Norman earlier this season and I like their chances as they're 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up win. The Oklahoma Sooners defeated Oklahoma State 71-49 at home on Wednesday, but they're 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win of more than 20 points and a lowly 3-11 ATS in their last 14 Saturday games. The Longhorns are 3-0 at home this season against top-20 ranked teams and I like them to take down the Sooners today. |
02-26-16 | Nuggets v. Mavs -5 | 116-122 | Win | 100 | 19 h 9 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Dallas Mavericks have lost six of their last eight and they'll be looking to bounce back from a 116-103 home loss to the Thunder Wednesday. They're 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points and 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Nuggets ended a three-game skid with an 87-81 win against the Clippers Wednesday but they're just 6-11 ATS off an upset win as an underdog this season 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Dallas. |
02-26-16 | Cavs v. Raptors +1.5 | 97-99 | Win | 100 | 18 h 20 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers will visit second-placed Toronto Raptors Friday night. Both teams are coming in red hot, and I expect a tight low-scoring playoff-like contest with a massive crowd support for Toronto. The Raptors grabbed a 103-99 home win on Nov. 25 as they're giving up just 96.7 points per game home at Air Canada Centre this season. The underdog is 12-3 ATS in the last 15 meetings in the series and the Raptors are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |

02-25-16 | Rockets v. Blazers -4.5 | Top | 119-105 | Loss | -105 | 22 h 44 m | Show |
Top Rated *BASKET BRAWLER* This looks like a good spot to back the Portland Trail Blazers at home against the Houston Rockets. The Trail Blazers are red hot coming into the contest as winners of six straight an 11 of their last 12. That includes a pair of wins against the Rockets; 96-79 @Houston on Feb. 6 and 116-103 @Portland on Feb. 10. The Rockets on the other hand have lost four of their last five with the lone win a 116-100 victory at Phoenix. The Trail Blazers are 6-1 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points this season and they should not have any trouble to see off the Rockets tonight. |
02-24-16 | Arizona v. Colorado +5 | 72-75 | Win | 100 | 9 h 50 m | Show
CBB This looks like a good spot to back the Colorado Buffaloes as they host the Arizona Wildcats Wednesday night. The Buffaloes will come in pissed off after a 77-53 loss to UCLA Saturday and they're 6-2-1 ATS last nine following a SU loss of more than 20 points. The Wildcats meanwhile are off a 99-61 win against rival Arizona State last Thursday which sets up a let down spot today. |
02-24-16 | Thunder -4.5 v. Mavs | 116-103 | Win | 100 | 20 h 28 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Oklahoma City Thunder will be looking to complete a four-game season sweep of the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night. They're off back-to-back losses, the most recent a 115-92 setback to the Cavs Sunday but they're 16-6-1 ATS in their last 23 games following a double-digit loss at home and 13-6-1 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Dallas. The Mavs defeated the 76ers 129-103 Sunday but are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. |
02-24-16 | Lakers v. Grizzlies -8 | 119-128 | Win | 100 | 20 h 58 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The Memphis Grizzlies will have to do without Marc Gasol for the rest of the season, but they should have no trouble to put a beating on the lowly Los Angeles Lakers regardless. This is the first game of a home-and-home series and although the Lakers have been good at covering spreads lately I think they'll put more emphasis on Friday's game when they play the host. The Grizzlies are coming off a 98-85 loss at Toronto Sunday but they're 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up loss and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games. They defeated the Lakers 112-96 at LA back in December, and I expect another rout of the Lakers tonight. |
02-24-16 | Knicks v. Pacers -8 | 105-108 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 59 m | Show
NBA 3-Pack The New York Knicks are struggling on so many levels and they're coming into this contest against the Indiana Pacers with just one win in their last nine games (1-8 ATS). They're 0-7 ATS in the last seven meetings in Indiana and will face a Pacers team looking to bounce back from a 101-93 OT loss at Miami Monday. The Pacers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games. Indiana took all four meetings last season and won the two at home by an average of 22 points, I expect the Pacers to get the job done against the lowly Knicks once again tonight. |
02-23-16 | Dayton -12.5 v. St. Louis | 52-49 | Loss | -106 | 14 h 51 m | Show
CBB I like the Dayton Flyers to bounce back from a pair of losses with big win at St. Louis Billikens Tuesday. The Flyers routed Saint Louis 73-37 on Jan. 27 and they're 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games. The Billikens were on a five game losing streak heading into last week, when they managed pick up a pair of wins. They're just 3-9 ATS home at Chaifetz Arena this season though and this looks like it should be an easy win for the Flyers. |
02-23-16 | Pelicans v. Wizards -4.5 | Top | 89-109 | Win | 100 | 17 h 39 m | Show |
Top Rated *BASKET BRAWLER* The Washington Wizards won their first two games back from the All Star break but suffered a 114-94 loss at Miami on Saturday in their third game in as many days. They're however 4-1 ATS in their last five coming off an upset loss as a favorite and a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on two days rest. The visiting New Orleans Pelicans have posted two wins since the All Star break and defeated the Pistons 111-106 at Detroit Sunday. They're 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS win and 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Pels defeated the Wizards 107-105 at New Orleans on Dec. 11, but I expect the Wizards to put a better performance home at Verizon Center where they've held the last three opponents to an average of 89.7 points and 41.9 percent shooting. |
02-23-16 | Rhode Island v. Davidson -3 | 54-65 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show
CBB The Davidson Wildcats are a solid 13-1 SU at home and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. The Rhode Island Rams defeated Duquesne 77-74 at home their last time out but they're 3-10-2 ATS in their last 15 games following a straight up win and absolutely horrible on the road going 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. |
02-22-16 | Warriors -7 v. Hawks | 102-92 | Win | 100 | 16 h 39 m | Show
NBA The Golden State Warriors stumbled out of the All-Star break with a 137-105 loss at Portland Friday, and while they defeated the Clippers 115-112 the next day I doubt they are particularly happy with their performance as they allowed the Clipps to end the game with a 13-0 run. The Warriors are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS loss and 27-12 ATS in their last 39 Monday games, and I expect tem to win big at Atlanta tonight. The Hawks have lost four of their last five and failed to cover the spread in each of the defeats. They're in danger of their first four-game home losing streak in nine seasons and are unsure of the status of Jeff Teague who injured his right wrist in Saturday's 117-109 upset loss to Milwaukee. The Warriors have failed to cover the spread in four straight games, but they're 5-2 ATS in the last seven in this series and I think a blowout win for the Warriors is in the cards tonight. |
02-22-16 | Cleveland State v. Green Bay -13 | 61-78 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show
NCAAB The Green Bay Phoenix have already defeated the Cleveland State Vikings once this season as they picked up an 87-67 road win on Jan. 7. The Vikings are coming off back-to-back blowout losses to Valparaiso and Milwaukee and they're 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Phoenix are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 Monday games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games. They defeated Youngstown State 107-90 Saturday and another blowout win is in the cards tonight. |
02-22-16 | Texas v. Kansas State | Top | 71-70 | Win | 100 | 17 h 9 m | Show |
Top Rated BIG12 *GAME OF THE WEEK* The Kansas State Wildcats gave the Big 12-leading Kansas Jayhawks a scare but ended up a 72-63 loser Saturday. They're 1-3 SU since an 80-69 home upset of then-No. 1 Oklahoma on Feb. 6 and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. They'll host a Texas Longhorns team going for a fourth consecutive win in the series and the Longhorns are an impressive 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Texas is coming off a 78-64 defeat to Baylor this past Saturday, but it's 6-2 ATS in its last eight games following a double-digit loss at home and 4-1 ATS in its last five road games. |
02-20-16 | Warriors -5 v. Clippers | 115-112 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 47 m | Show
NBA *LATE SHOW* The Golden State Warriors laid an egg last night when they had an 11-game winning streak snapped as a big favorite at Portland. They'll come into this game against the Los Angeles Clippers extremely pissed off and they're 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games playing on no days rest and 20-6-2 ATS in their last 28 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. The Clippers are in a very different situation as they defeated the Spurs 105-86 in their first game back from the All Star break Thursday. They're 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up win and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. |
02-20-16 | Pittsburgh v. Syracuse -3 | 66-52 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 58 m | Show
CBB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE* The Syracuse Orange had won five straight and eight of nine prior to a 72-58 setback at Louisville Wednesday. They're still 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and they're coming into this game looking to revenge a 72-61 loss at Pittsburgh on Dec. 30. The Panthers had lost three straight prior to a demanding 101-96 2OT win against the 1-13 Wake Forest at home Tuesday. They may have recovered physically, but how about mentally after playing such a close game against a weak team? They're also fairly poor on the road and I expect the Orange to take this one down. |
02-19-16 | Celtics +1 v. Jazz | Top | 93-111 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 15 m | Show |
NBA *BASKET BRAWLER* The Celtics entered the break as winners of 10 of their last 12, including a 139-134 home overtime victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 10. They're 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and a solid 8-2 ATS on Friday nights this season. The Jazz were back in action last night when they fell 103-89 at Washington. I think they'll be hard-pressed to match the Celtics' energy here playing on a back-to-back, and the Celtics are 6-1-2 ATS in the last nine head-to-head meetings. |
02-19-16 | Iona v. Monmouth -5.5 | 83-67 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 55 m | Show
CBB *LATE SHOW* The Monmouth Hawks have won eight straight and are coming off a 79-70 win at home against Manhattan Monday. They're 17-5 ATS in their last 22 vs. teams with a winning record and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Friday night games. They're 14-2 in conference play and can pretty much seal up the conference title with a win here against the 12-4 Iona. The Hawks claimed a 110-102 win on the road in the first meeting this season last month, and while the Gaels have won five of their last six, keep in mind that they're just 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road vs. teams with home winning percentage greater than .600 |
02-19-16 | Raptors -6 v. Bulls | 106-116 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 59 m | Show
NBA *HARDWOOD HAMMER* The slumping Chicago Bulls lost 106-105 to the Cavs last night, their fifth consecutive defeat. They're 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on no rest and  2-8 ATS in their last 10 Friday games. The Toronto Raptors lost their last game prior to the break 117-112 at Minnesota, but they had won three straight and 14 of 15 prior. They're a solid 6-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on three or more days rest so I expect the break to be to their benefit, and they're 4-0 ATS in their last four Friday games. The Bulls won both meetings this season, including a 115-113 victory in Toronto on Jan. 3 when Jimmy Butler scored 40 of his 42 points in the second half. Butler, though, has been out the last four because of a sprained left knee and is expected to miss at least a couple more weeks and the Raptors are 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Chicago. |
02-18-16 | St. Peter's v. Quinnipiac | 55-56 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show
CBB This looks like a very tough spot for the St. Peter's Peacocks as they're coming straight off a 70-69 win against Manhattan last night. They're 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 Thursday games and will face a much more rested Quinnipac Bobcats team that have been off since a 78-59 loss at Iona Monday. They've lost four straight and will be desperate to record a win, and I expect them to do some serious damage against the tired Peacocks tonight. |
02-17-16 | Nebraska v. Indiana -12.5 | Top | 64-80 | Win | 100 | 21 h 35 m | Show |
Rop Rated CBB This looks like a good spot to back the Indiana Hoosiers to destroy the Nebraska Cornhuskers home in Bloomington. The Hoosiers will be looking to bounce back from a 20-point loss to Michigan State on Sunday and they're 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a ATS loss. We can also note that they're a perfect 14-0 SU (10-4 ATS) at home this season and they won 79-69 at Nebraska on Jan. 2. They should win even bigger tonight when at home, plus the fact that the Cornhuskers will have to do without team captain and senior forward Shavon Shields due to a concussion. |

02-16-16 | Richmond v. Davidson -2 | 79-83 | Win | 100 | 18 h 10 m | Show
CBB 3-Pack I like Davidson Wildcats to win and cover the spread against the Richmond Spiders Tuesday night. Davidson had a two-game winning streak snapped in a 60-59 loss at George Mason on Saturday, but it's 3-1-1 ATS in its last five games following a straight up loss and 16-5 ATS in its last 21 Tuesday games. The Spiders are 0-7 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. They beat visiting Fordham 71-67 on Saturday to make it three consecutive wins, but keep in mind that the Wildcats have won 31 of their past 33 at home and their only loss there this year was by 10 to a very strong VCU team. They've covered the spread in four of the past five meetings with the Spiders and won 78-70 at Richmond on Jan. 25. |
