09-21-15 | NY Jets +7 v. Indianapolis Colts | 20-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 5 m | Show
New York Jets at Indianapolis 8:30 ET Colts (+) over Jets- After watching the Bills against the Patriots yesterday I am wondering how bad are the Colts this season. They were terrible during the preseason and could do nothing against Buffalo. The Colts have concerns about standout T.J. Hilton who has not practiced this week but have veteran Andre Johnson along with Frank Gore. The Jets forced the Browns into five turnovers last week but will find Andrew Luck a tougher nut to crack. This will not be an easy number to cover but the Colts can win under the 'number.'. Take the JETS! |
09-20-15 | Seattle Seahawks +3.5 v. Green Bay Packers | 17-27 | Loss | -110 | 32 h 6 m | Show
Seattle at Green Bay 8:30 ET Seahawks (+) over Packers- We are all aware of the history of the meetings between these two contenders in recent years. The common core here is that Green Bay will be looking to extract a measure of revenge to compensate for events in recent meetings. Since Russell Wilson took over at QB the Seahawks are 10-1 ATS when an underdog and NFL Sunday night home teams are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games. The Packers were unimpressive in their win against rival Chicago while the Seahawks look to rebound off a loss at St. Louis. Take SEATTLE! |
09-20-15 | Miami Dolphins v. Jacksonville Jaguars +6 | 20-23 | Win | 100 | 28 h 43 m | Show
Miami at Jacksonville 4:05 ET Jaguars (+) over Dolphins- Miami is fortunate enough to open their season against two of the weaker NFL clubs with Washington and now Jacksonville who won only 3-of-16 games last season. Jacksonville faced one of the tougher NFC defenses last week in Carolina and now must face one of the tougher AFC defense provided by the Dolphins. Although Miami has won the last three meetings the Jaguars will mover the ball on the ground behind T.J. Yeldon and threw the air with Blake Bortles who had a rough outing week one. Take JAGUARS! |
09-20-15 | New England Patriots v. Buffalo Bills +2 | 40-32 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 13 m | Show
New England at Buffalo 1:00 ET Bills (+) over Patriots- We missed out on the Bills last week as they were a popular play with the 'wise-guys' and I just couldn't pull the trigger mainly because I didn't trust Buffalo quarterback Tyrod Taylor who never has impressed me. Rex Ryan has added swagger to the Bills and they are confident and waiting for this meeting with the defending Super Bowl Champions. New England has dominated this series winning 21 of 23 meetings and yet are such a meager favorite here. It appears the odds-makers believe in the Bills as New England is 0-7 ATS in it's last seven games after playing the Steelers. Take BUFFALO! |
09-20-15 | Arizona Cardinals v. Chicago Bears +2.5 | Top | 48-23 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 11 m | Show |
Arizona at Chicago 1:00 ET Bears (+) over Cardinals- The 'Bears' gave it the 'old college try' last week but Clay Mathews took Jay Cutler down not only with tackles but with a crucial interception in crunch time. Arizona managed a 31-19 home win over New Orleans last Sunday but lost running back Andre Ellington to a knee injury. Although Carson Palmer has won seven straight and 14 of his last 16 starts the Bears have won four of the last five meetings. Look for John Fox to post his first win as the Bears head coach. Take CHICAGO! |
09-20-15 | Tennessee Titans v. Cleveland Browns +2.5 | 14-28 | Win | 100 | 25 h 48 m | Show
Tennessee at Cleveland 1:00 ET Browns (+) over Titans- A pair of Heisman Trophy winners might be facing-off here as the latest in rookie Marcus Mariota leads Tennessee into Cleveland and mostly likely will be opposed by Johnny 'Football' Manziel. Mariota in his first game had a perfect passer rating completing 13-of-16 attempts and has more TD passes (4) then Manziel in his year plus tenure already but there is still a chance Josh McCown can be 'cleared' to play. The Browns committed five turnovers after taking a 7-0 lead against the Jets but that was too much for them to overcome. This time the Browns defense gives Mariota a lesson. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-20-15 | St Louis Rams v. Washington Redskins +3.5 | 10-24 | Win | 100 | 25 h 45 m | Show
St. Louis at Washington 1:00 ET Redskins (+) over Rams- Last week the Rams were my big winner and the Redskins my big loser in what wasn't a pretty Sunday. Washington out-gained Miami by 100 yards but goal line turnovers and a 70 yard punt return for a touchdown did them in. St. Louis is coming off an emotional overtime win against Seattle and must now take to the road against a foe few respect. The rams defense surrendered 343 yards to the Seahawks while the Washington offense behind Alfred Morris who gained 121 yards scored only one TD. The Redskins held the Dolphins to 256 total yards and if they can repeat that type of performance they will win here. Take the REDSKINS! |
09-19-15 | BYU v. UCLA -16.5 | 23-24 | Loss | -105 | 26 h 37 m | Show
B.Y.U at U.C.L.A. 10:30 ET Bruins (-) over Cougars- I witnessed first hand the UCLA walk-over against UNLV where Jim Mora actually held the score down and kept his key personnel fresh. BYU has two huge victories winning at Nebraska on a last play Hail-Mary and scoring twice is 15 seconds with :40 second to go against Boise State. Now, we find them a huge underdog because they are emotionally drained. Both clubs will start freshman quarterbacks but the Bruins bring one of the top defenses in the country to the table allowing 9.5 points per game led by Kenny Clark and Eli Ankou. Take UCLA! |
09-19-15 | Stanford +9.5 v. USC | 41-31 | Win | 100 | 23 h 11 m | Show
Stanford at USC 8:00 ET Cardinal (+) over Trojans- With the last five games between these two PAC-12 rivals have all been deiced by eight points or fewer which make Stanford an interesting take here. USC has opened against weak opposition as they crushed Arkansas State and Idaho by a combined 114-14 as Cody Kessler marches toward the Heisman Trophy. Stanford despite their opening loss to Northwestern leads the conference in total defense and limited Kessler to 135 passing yards last season. The Cardinal have held opponents to 20 or fewer points in 33 of it's past 43 games and are 39-5 in games played in California since 2010. Take STANFORD! |
09-19-15 | California v. Texas +7 | 45-44 | Win | 100 | 23 h 45 m | Show
California at Texas 7:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Golden Bears- The Longhorns finally made the change that was needed at quarterback as Jerrod Heard made his debut against Rice and led Texas to a 42-28 win. Cal quarterback Jared Goff has 8,111 career passing yards and threw for three TD's against San Diego State in the Bears 35-7 victory following a 73-14 win over Grambling State in their opener. Charlie Strong's position is still in jeopardy as Texas fired their AD this week and the Longhorns need an impressive outing. The Horns are 5-0 lifetime against California including a 21-10 win in the 2011 Holiday Bowl. With the pressure on...take TEXAS! |
09-19-15 | Utah State +7.5 v. Washington | 17-31 | Loss | -120 | 20 h 19 m | Show
Utah State at Washington 5:00 ET Aggies (+) over Huskies- Washington is off a 49-0 whitewash of Sacramento State after a great second half effort against Boise State in their opener. Utah State has the advantage at quarterback with Chuckie Keeton who has thrown 60 TD passes but has only two this season, but the return of suspended Wide receiver Hunter Sharp will help. Huskies freshman quarterback Jake Browning threw for 326 yards against Sacramento State but will find the going a lot tougher against the Aggies solid defense. Take UTAH STATE! |
09-19-15 | Virginia Tech v. Purdue +7 | 51-24 | Loss | -130 | 19 h 5 m | Show
Virginia Tech at Purdue 3:30 ET Boilermakers (+) over Hokies- I love the idea that Virginia Tech crushed lowly Furman 42-3 last week (an instate rival) and now face an up-and-coming Purdue squad that posted a 38-14 win over Indiana State last week. I've got to laugh as Frank Beamer State that quarterback Brenden Motley (replaced injured starter Michael Brewer after his injury against Ohio State) “never flinched” against mighty Furman. Well, he certainly flinched against the Buckeyes when he played like a scared rabbit as Tech blew a half-time lead. Purdue has a real quarterback is Austin Appleby who has completed 51 passes and 559 yards in two contests. Take PURDUE! |
09-19-15 | Georgia Tech v. Notre Dame +3 | Top | 22-30 | Win | 100 | 19 h 52 m | Show |
Georgia Tech at Notre Dame 3:30 ET Fighting Irish (+) over Yellow Jackets- The storyline all week have been about the numerous injuries that have beset Notre Dame with their top three running backs now sidelined and their starting quarterback Malik Zaire down for the season along other key personnel including tight end Durham Smythe. Georgia Tech of course still runs the triple-option and has 915 yards on the ground in two games against power-houses Alcorn State and Tulane. (Note that they were favored by a total 74-points in those two home wins. The Irish were fortunate to escape with a win at Virginia as back-up quarterback DeShone Kizer and tossed a TD pass with :12 seconds left to play for the win. Brian Kelly know what it will take here and I expect hime to have his club ready. Take NOTRE DAME! |
09-17-15 | Denver Broncos +3 v. Kansas City Chiefs | 31-24 | Win | 104 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Denver at Kansas City 8:25 ET Broncos (+) over Chiefs- Four-time AFC West defending Champion Denver Broncos will have their work cut out for them as the play on the road against Kansas City in their home opener. The Chiefs were 4-0 during the preseason and opened with a convincing win at Houston on Sunday while the Broncos struggled offensively at home against the Ravens. The word is Peyton Manning has lost arm strength as he failed to throw the ball downfield against Baltimore throwing for only 175 yards and no TD passes. One problem for Kansas City is that they are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games against a team with a winning road record. Take DENVER! |
09-17-15 | Clemson v. Louisville +7 | 20-17 | Win | 100 | 46 h 10 m | Show
Clemson at Louisville 7:30 ET Cardinals (+) over Tigers- Clemson opened their season with two games against lesser competition at home playing Wofford and Appalachian State compiling 90 points while giving up only 10 in each. Louisville meanwhile is 0-2 having faced Auburn at the Georgia Dome and were upset at home against Houston 34-31. The trends entering this contest do not favor Louisville who is 0-6 ATS in their last six home games but have not opened 0-3 since in 31 years and dropped their first two for the first since 1998. The Cardinals are inexperienced at quarterback but this is the first real competition for Clemson this season and their first road game. Take LOUISVILLE! |
09-14-15 | Minnesota Vikings v. San Francisco 49ers +2 | 3-20 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show
Minnesota at San Francisco 10:20 ET 49ers over Vikings- With Adrian Peterson back for Minnesota and San Francisco having a huge turnover of coaches and players I expect 'public' to be all-over the Vikings. The Niners need for Colin Kaepernick to finally flourish as an NFL elite quarterback and for three 'new' faces to replace linebackers Patrick Willis, Chris Borland, Aldon Smith and Justin Smith. Somehow, someway I expect the Niners to get it down. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
09-14-15 | Philadelphia Eagles v. Atlanta Falcons +3 | Top | 24-26 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:10 ET Falcons (+) over Eagles- The storyline for Philadelphia this season is about all the new faces that Chip Kelly has imported into the Eagles high-flying offense with quarterback Sam Foles, running back LeSean McCoy and receiver Jordan Mathews. Atlanta has a new head coach and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan who will work to create balance on an offense that was sixth worst in the league. Playing at home will help the Falcons here. Take ATLANTA! |
09-13-15 | New Orleans Saints +2.5 v. Arizona Cardinals | 19-31 | Loss | -105 | 27 h 29 m | Show
New Orleans at Arizona 4:05 ET Saints (+) over Cardinals- I am a little suspect of the Cardinals here as the 'price' seems a bit shy. Why would Arizona who made the playoffs (11-5) last season (the Saints 7-9 did not) be such a small favorite when their coach Bruce Arians states “This is the best football team we've had.' New Orleans under coach Sean Payton will rely on running back Mark Ingram and Drew Brees who threw for 342 yards the last time he faced the Cardinals. Take NEW ORLEANS! |
09-13-15 | Green Bay Packers v. Chicago Bears +7 | 31-23 | Loss | -105 | 25 h 44 m | Show
Green Bay at Chicago 1:00 ET Bears (+) over Packers- The Green Bay Packers have dominated the NFL's oldest rivalry wining eight of the past nine with the Bears only victory coming when the Packers Arron Rodgers was injured. Chicago dropped their final five games last season and have seen changes most notable at the head coaching spot where John Fox has taken over the reins. This upgrade can't be slighted as Fox is a proven factor that can only be an improvement over Marc Trestman. Chicago's Jay Cutler will once again be the center of whatever happens to the Bears and there is no questioning his ability to throw the ball but he raises other questions that with Fox's influence may be answered. Take 'DA BEARS! |
09-13-15 | Cleveland Browns +3.5 v. NY Jets | Top | 10-31 | Loss | -106 | 25 h 41 m | Show |
Cleveland at New York Jets 1:00 ET Browns (+) over Jets- Well, at least the storyline here won't be about Johnny Manziel but the Jets 'new' coaching move with Todd Bowles who started his tenure with a lie regarding Jeno Smith. New York won only four games last year and will be starting Ryan Fitzpatrick who is just 34-56-1 as an NFL starter. Cleveland actually was actually three games better at 7-9 last season and is supposed to have the most improved offensive line in the AFC. Bowles will be exposed here as the Browns get it done. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-13-15 | Miami Dolphins v. Washington Redskins +4 | 17-10 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 36 m | Show
Miami at Washington 1:00 ET Redskins (+) over Dolphins- The Miami Dolphins made some bold moves in the off-season and are expected to produce one of the best defenses in the AFC with the addition of Ndamukong Suh and the contract extension of quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Redskins as we are so aware have been surrounded with negative press because of their position with Robert Griffin III who is rightfully subjected to bench warming. Kurt Cousins did not win the starting job by default but has actually played quite well during the preseason and he has the confidence of his teammates and that is a key factor. Take WASHINGTON! |
09-13-15 | Seattle Seahawks v. St Louis Rams +4.5 | 31-34 | Win | 100 | 24 h 28 m | Show
Seattle at St. Louis 1:00 ET Rams (+) over Seahawks- You may be asking 'Why the Rams' after all they failed to win a single preseason game and looked terrible doing it. Well, there are a number of trends and factors that 'we' took into consideration here. To start with Super Bowl losers are 2-13 ATS in season opening games the past 15 years and the Seahawks as a miserable 1-9 ATS in road openers. The way Seattle lost to the Patriots will have a lingering effect as I expect them to get out of the gate slowly. Take ST. LOUIS! |
09-12-15 | Oklahoma v. Tennessee +1 | 31-24 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 30 m | Show
Oklahoma at Tennessee 6:00 ET Volunteers (+) over Sooners- Both these clubs opened their season with blowout wins over weak opposition as Oklahoma routed Akron 41-3 while Tennessee pushed around Bowling Green 59-30 running for 399 yards on the ground. Last season the Sooners man-handled the Vols is a 34-10 home win favored by 21-points, this time around it's under a field goal which tells you have much Vegas believes Tennessee has improved. Oklahoma has provided the Volunteers bulletin board material as they disparaged the SEC this week. Look for an all-out effort by the Vols and most likely a home win. Take TENNESSEE! |
09-12-15 | Washington State +3.5 v. Rutgers | 37-34 | Win | 100 | 19 h 20 m | Show
Washington State at Rutgers 3:30 ET Cougars (+) over Scarlet Knights- The obvious distraction at Rutgers didn't affect their performance last week against Norfolk State as they crushed 63-13 while Washington State lost to Portland State. Last season the Knights went into Pullman and upset the Cougars 41-38 in the season opener, this time around as they say 'turn-about-is-fair-play' as State comes to play. Look for Mike Leach to have his troupes ready as he is 10-1 ATS as a dog in games off a double-digit loss. With Penn State on deck Rutgers should get caught here. Take WASHINGTON STATE! |
09-12-15 | Notre Dame v. Virginia +13 | Top | 34-27 | Win | 100 | 19 h 7 m | Show |
Notre Dame at Virginia 3:30 ET Cavaliers (+) over Fighting Irish- We will learn a little bit more about Notre Dame because we really can't be sure how good they are after demolishing Texas 38-3 allowing only eight first downs and held the Longhorns to a total of 163 yards. Are the Irish that good or is Texas as bad as they looked. Virginia meanwhile played better against UCLA then to final score (34-16) would indicate in their loss. The Cavaliers under coach Mike London are 5-1 ATS as home dogs and 11-5-1 against the points as double-digit dogs. The Irish will be without last year's top three rushers as Tarean Folson tore his ACL and Greg Bryant is ineligible and Cam McDaniel is off the team. Take VIRGINIA! |
09-12-15 | Minnesota v. Colorado State +5 | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 19 h 39 m | Show
Minnesota at Colorado State 3:30 ET Rams (+) over Golden Gophers- Big Ten versus Mountain West is often a mismatch as Minnesota is 10-3 against this also-ran conference. The Golden Gophers performed well against No. 2 TCU last week while Colorado State pounded as lower tire Savannah State 65-13 despite turning the ball over five times. The Rams have won 16 of their last 20 and have won nine straight at home as well as going 9-2-1 ATS in non-conference contests. Last week Minnesota was at home and ready and now as a favorite on the road things are different as they have been out-gained in 17 of their last 27 games. Take COLORADO STATE! |
09-12-15 | Georgia v. Vanderbilt +21.5 | 31-14 | Win | 100 | 19 h 33 m | Show
Georgia at Vanderbilt 3:30 ET Commodores (+) over Bulldogs- In a shorten game last week the Ninth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs routed Louisiana-Monroe 51-14 as lightening halted the game with just under 10 minutes to play. Vanderbilt's play was much improved against Western Kentucky (14-12 loss) last week as their defense held the Hilltoppers well below their average of 49 points per contest in 2014. The Commodores have cover 3-of-4 against the Bulldogs and are 6-1 ATS in SEC revenge games while Georgia is just 1-5 ATS as SEC road favorites of more then 11 points. Take VANDERBILT! |
09-12-15 | Appalachian State +19.5 v. Clemson | 10-41 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 10 m | Show
Appalachian State at Clemson 12:30 Mountaineers (+) over Tigers- Clemson may be playing a FCS foe for the second straight week as they are off a 49-10 win over Wofford but there is nothing woeful about Appalachian State as they have won seven games in a row. The Tigers might get caught looking toward their ACC opener at Louisville next week. The Mountaineers have shutout three of their last eight opponents and should hang tough here. Take APPALACHIAN STATE! |
09-10-15 | Pittsburgh Steelers v. New England Patriots -7 | 21-28 | Push | 0 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Pittsburgh at New England 8:30 ET Steelers (+) over Patriots- Well, it's finally here, opening night and Tom Brady will be starting for the Patriots as the country awaits him to be 'perfect' from start to finish. The truth is with all the distractions during the preseason Tom 'Terrific' hasn't been so. His preseason was less then perfect and we'll see if he can just turn it on at will. Pittsburgh will be minus a number of 'big game' performers but still have 'Big Ben' to move the ball on offense. The Steelers didn't show much during the preseason and are hurting in key positions. Take NEW ENGLAND! |
09-07-15 | Ohio State v. Virginia Tech +14.5 | Top | 42-24 | Loss | -105 | 24 h 45 m | Show |
Ohio State at Virginia Tech 8:00 ET Hokies (+) over Buckeyes- So Ohio State is the first unanimous No. 1 selection in BCS history and they are rated 7-points better then every other school on a neutral site. I respect Urban Meyer more then any other College coach and realize that the Buckeyes have strong revenge on their minds as Virginia Tech was the only team to defeat Ohio State last season. The Buckeyes have had four starters suspended for this contest and none will be more painful then All-American defensive end Joey Bosa who will be missed. Frank Beamer teams usually improve dramatic as the season wears on but he has been know to get his troupes ready in early big games. Take VIRGINIA TECH! |
09-06-15 | Purdue v. Marshall -7 | 31-41 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show
Purdue at Marshall 3:00 ET Thundering Herd (-) over Boilermakers- Not let me get this straight a Conference USA team is favored over a Big Ten team and by a touchdown or more. This just goes to show not only how far Marshall has climbed the ladder but how far Purdue has fallen. Although the Boilermakers tripled their win total form 2012 to 2013 they still manged just three wins going 3-9 in 2014. Marshall who average 45.6 points last season. The Herd return Devon Johnson who ran for 1,767 and 17 touchdowns on the ground last season and they will dominate Purdue here. Take MARSHALL! |
09-05-15 | Wisconsin +14 v. Alabama | 17-35 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 5 m | Show
Wisconsin vs Alabama 8:00 ET Badgers (+) over Crimson Tide- A great opener being played in Arlington Texas as No. 3 Alabama will face No. 18 Wisconsin as two powerhouses will similar styles face off. Coaching should be a consideration when handicapping this contest as Nick Saban is revered as one of the best in college football while Paul Chryst makes his debut for the Badgers. This should turnout to be a slugfest as Wisconsin ranked 4th nationally in total defense last season allowing under 300 yards per game and the Tide are known to be conservative under Saban, but with 'new' offensive co-ordinator Lane Kifin things may change. Take the points and WISCONSIN! |
09-05-15 | Texas +10 v. Notre Dame | 3-38 | Loss | -111 | 25 h 40 m | Show
Texas at Notre Dame 7:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Fighting Irish- Charlie Strong Texas head coach will have to improve his offense from last season's 6-7 club who mustered just 59 yards of total offense including only two-yards rushing their bowl game against Arkansas. Many believe Notre Dame is Final Four material but they always seem to be over-rated by the media. The Irish are just 7-14-1 ATS in their last 22 as favorites. It appears that the problems that Mack Brown left behind are gone. Take TEXAS! |
09-05-15 | Arizona State v. Texas A&M -3 | Top | 17-38 | Win | 100 | 24 h 14 m | Show |
Arizona State vs Texas A&M 7:00 ET Aggies (-) over Sun Devils- I'm having some difficulty processing the information surrounding this game as their is a huge move toward No. 16 Arizona State who many believe has a chance to win the PAC-12. Texas A&M is unranked and yet they are a strong favorite at NGR Stadium in Houston home of the NFL Texans. Last season Aggies quarterback Kyle Allen started and won the first five games of the season and then fell upon hard times and was been most of the rest of the season. The Sun Devils return 17 starters from last years 10-3 club that defeated Utah, USC, Stanford and Notre Dame last year will find a challenge here. The crowd response and the '12th man' will be a factor. Take TEXAS A&M! |
09-03-15 | San Diego Chargers v. San Francisco 49ers -3 | 12-14 | Loss | -106 | 33 h 12 m | Show
San Diego at San Francisco 10:00 ET 49ers over Chargers- Come the regular season I expect the San Francisco to struggle and San Diego to flourish but this is still preseason and the Niners with a new coach and personnel are still looking to figure out who they are. I don't expect the Chargers to show much especially after their scare with Phillip Rivers last week against Seattle. Take SAN FRANICSCO! |
09-03-15 | Kansas City Chiefs v. St Louis Rams -2.5 | 24-17 | Loss | -110 | 31 h 19 m | Show
Kansas City at St. Louis 8:00 ET Rams (-) over Chiefs- Andy Reid has accomplished his goal (3-0) for the preseason winning all three contests by a margin of 40 points while Jeff Fisher Rams are winless (0-3) and has been out-scored by 38 points. These coaches use different approaches as Reid is 5-11 in his final preseason contest while Fisher is 12-5. Look for the Chiefs to rest and the Rams to try an establish positive momentum. Take ST. LOUIS! |
09-03-15 | Western Kentucky -2 v. Vanderbilt | 14-12 | Push | 0 | 11 h 47 m | Show
Western Kentucky at Vanderbilt 8:00 ET Hilltoppers (-) over Commodores- These two programs may seem to be miles apart as Vanderbilt is an SEC school and Western Kentucky is stepping up out of Conference USA. The Hilltoppers produced their first bowl win ever last season with a furious fourth quarter come-back in their 49-48 win over Central Michigan in the Popeye's Bahamas Bowl. The Hilltoppers' Derek Mason led the nation with 49 touchdown passes last year and Vandy just doesn't have the tools to stop him. The Commodores (3-9) failed to win an SEC contest last year and I don't expect them to be much better this time out. Take WESTERN KENTUCKY! |
09-03-15 | Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 v. Indianapolis Colts | 9-6 | Win | 100 | 30 h 24 m | Show
Cincinnati at Indianapolis 7:00 ET Bengals over Colts- The fact that the bengals are favored at Indianapolis is the telling tale about this contest. Last year Cincinnati closed their preseason with a 35-7 win over the Colts as neither Luck or Dalton saw any action and I expect the same here. During the regular season Indy took Cincinnati down twice and they really have no interest here. Take the BENGALS! |
09-03-15 | South Carolina v. North Carolina +3 | Top | 17-13 | Loss | -115 | 31 h 15 m | Show |
South Carolina vs North Carolina 6:00 ET Tar Heels (+) over Gamecocks- Both clubs are off disappointing campaigns in 2014 as the Tar Heels had their first losing season since 2007 and the Gamecocks were a meager 7-6. No doubt who the better team has been of late as South has beaten the North five of the last six meetings but the 'Cocks will have many more unknowns this season while the Tar Heels will return just about their entire offense but they must improve on defense where they surrendered 67 touchdowns last season. In a mild upset it is NORTH CAROLINA! |
08-29-15 | Philadelphia Eagles v. Green Bay Packers +6 | 39-26 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 44 m | Show
Philadelphia at Green Bay 8:00 ET Packers (+) over Eagles- Everyone is aware the Packers suffered a serve blow when Gordy Nelson when down for the season last Sunday against the Steelers as he blew out his ACL with even being touched. Many will realize that Green Bay has depth at the receiver position as well as the best throwing quarterback in the NFL. Philadelphia has been denominate at home crushing both the Colts (36-10) and Ravens (40-17) but will find the going tougher on the road. The Packers have played two games on the road and are off a loss returning home to face the Eagles a club they defeated 53-20 on this field last regular season. Take GREEN BAY! |
08-29-15 | NY Jets +2 v. NY Giants | Top | 28-18 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show |
New York Jets at New York Giants 7:00 ET Jets (+) over Giants- Every season they play this contest and the New York media tries to make it a big deal whereas the players are just trying to stay healthy. The Jets one of my 'Top-plays' last week (4-0) committed 17 penalties in their come-from-behind win over Atlanta and with a new coach and staff they will try desperately try and improve while the Giants with a veteran staff and offense will just go through the motions. Eli Manning was 4 of 14 last week and don't look to show much as these two clubs meet again during the regular season. With more on the line take the JETS! |
08-28-15 | Detroit Lions v. Jacksonville Jaguars -1 | 22-17 | Loss | -120 | 33 h 18 m | Show
Detroit at Jacksonville 8:00 ET Jaguars over Lions- Detroit quarterback Mathew Stafford has made it clear that he is not interested in playing and more preseason games then he has to. The Lions first-team offense has played well but may not see much playing time here as the fear of injuries is greater then ever. Jacksonville who opened with a home win over the Steelers stumbled in New York against the Giants last week (22-12) as did Detroit winning at home then losing on the road. The Jaguars are 4-1 ATS in their last five games while the Lions are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 0-7 ATS in their last seven games on grass. This is means more to the developing Jags. Take JACKSONVILLE! |
08-24-15 | Cincinnati Bengals v. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -2.5 | 11-25 | Win | 100 | 11 h 37 m | Show
Cincinnati at Tampa Bay 8:00 ET Buccaneers (+) over Bengals- This is the week when the weakest of NFL clubs have a chance to post a win during the preseason and most playoff squads are gearing up for week 3 to be on schedule for their season opener. Cincinnati had their way with the Giants last week accumulating 432 yards on offense with over 200 yards both rushing and passing on a balance attack that Tampa Bay can only dream about. The Buccaneers expect to be better with No. 1 overall pick Jamis Winston get most of the playing time at quarterback. Cincinnati who is 4-1 ATS in their last five preseason game as home favorites are point toward next weeks contest against the Bears. The fact that the Buccs' opened a favorite here tells you what Vegas is thinking, Take TAMPA BAY! |
08-23-15 | Dallas Cowboys v. San Francisco 49ers -4 | Top | 6-23 | Win | 100 | 26 h 5 m | Show |
Dallas at San Francisco 8:00 ET Niners (-) over Cowboys- How could this bunch, the San Francisco 49ers be favored over the Cowboys at any time? Well, it is preseason football and while Dallas is playing their second straight on the road they are thinking of gearing up for Game 3 their home opener (even for preseason) next week against Minnesota. This is the home debut for Jim Tomsula and that is always a consideration for a new head coach as /he looks to make a positive impression before the 'shit hits the fan' so to speak because the Niners with be lucky to match last years eight win and will most likely end up with four or five. But, tonight Dallas will be distracted and San Francisco for what it's worth should be focused. Take the 49ERS! |
08-23-15 | Green Bay Packers v. Pittsburgh Steelers -2 | 19-24 | Win | 100 | 19 h 12 m | Show
Green Bay at Pittsburgh 1:00 ET Steelers (-) over Packers- This is a tough one because of the recent trends that these two clubs exhibit in the preseason of late. Pittsburgh who in the early days of Mike Tomlin's tenure were a play every time as they were 17-8 70% ATS until 2007 but of late are 2-11-1 ATS since while Green Bay is 7-2 78% in Week 2 of preseason under Mike McCarthy. But, the Steelers are 0-2 and that doesn't sit well with Tomlin and the Packers are off a road win over the Super Bowl Champion Patriots. With their first home game against the Eagles next week and Game 3 being 'the one' that most teams point toward I expect Green Bay to just 'go through the motions here. Take PITTSBURGH! |
08-20-15 | Buffalo Bills v. Cleveland Browns -3 | 11-10 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 42 m | Show
Browns (-) over Bills- Both these clubs have major flaws as the Bills are still searching for a quarterback and the Browns need a running back and a quarterback. Cleveland's problems are much deeper as the totaled only 45 yards rushing and 145 yards passing in their opener against Washington. The Bills who held the ball for 37:10 minutes against Carolina last week blew half-time and fourth quarter leads as once again a Rex Ryan team made too many mistake including 14 penalties. This is typical of a Ryan coached team who does most of their good work between the 20's. Buffalo will start Tyrod Taylor and that will not go well for them. Look for Cleveland to show vast improvement. Take the BROWNS! |
08-16-15 | Indianapolis Colts v. Philadelphia Eagles -4 | 10-36 | Win | 100 | 5 h 6 m | Show
Indianapolis at Philadelphia 1:00 ET Eagles (-) over Colts- Chip Kelly's 'new look' Eagles will open the preseason with Mark Sanchez under the center as he is getting every chance to play his way 'out' of the position. And talking about 'out of position' Tim Tebow is expected to see plenty of playing time unlike his counter part for Indianapolis Andrew Luck who will be lucky to see one series of action. Kelly is pressured to have his squad perform well as the Eagles boo-birds will be out in force if they fail even here in this meaningless contest. Take PHILADLEPHIA! |
08-15-15 | San Francisco 49ers +3 v. Houston Texans | 10-23 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 20 m | Show
San Francisco at Houston 8:10 ET 49ers (+) over Texans- Well, this will be the first chance for us to see the post-Jim Harbaugh Niners who have had a huge number of defectors and retirees since January. Jim Tomsula take over and now much is expected out of San Francisco and during the preseason that can be a good thing as there in little pressure on veterans and rookies to preform. The fact that this 'number' is under a field goal leads me to believe that the odds-makers believe that the Niners will be all out and the Texans just going through the motions. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |

06-16-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Cleveland Cavaliers +4.5 | Top | 105-97 | Loss | -115 | 25 h 57 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- There are a number of reasons that I like Cleveland here in Game 6 including the fact that they have the 'Best Player in the World.' As series go this one has yet to have a favorite win and not 'cover' the number and I could see that happening here Tuesday night. It has become obvious that LeBron James can't do it alone as Golden State just has too many weapons and the Cavaliers too few. Here a mind boggling stat that tells the story of Cleveland's lack of talent aside from James as he has 47 assists and only 15 turnovers in the Finals five games and the rest of his entire team combined have only 35 assists and 45 turnovers. The home court advantage will be huge as the supporting cast for James comes through with enough to get the money here. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-14-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +8.5 v. Golden State Warriors | 91-104 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 49 m | Show
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- Well, we all finally saw the game that we all were expecting in Game 4 where Golden State just dominated after Cleveland's initial 7-0 start as the Cavaliers showed how inept they are offensively. We saw that LeBron is actually human and he does need help somewhere down the line. The Cavs inside game showed some life but the shooting guards aside from James were just 6-of-37 and that is too much for anyone to overcome. This is a difficult side to play after what we all witnessed as the Cavaliers look just so bad and almost unplayable...almost. One thing about professional sports usually after a team is embarrassed the way Cleveland was Thursday night the respond like pro's and give a huge effort. I expect James to be better and the rest of the Cavaliers to suck it up. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-11-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Cleveland Cavaliers +3 | Top | 103-82 | Loss | -110 | 27 h 24 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- I keep hearing the same thing over and over again but I keep seeing something different over and over again. To start with I hear from all the pundits over and over again that Golden State will win this series and that the Cavaliers can't win. What I am seeing a the Cavaliers dominating the play as the Warriors struggle to get open shots. Until our boy Matthew Dellavedova need fluids in the final quarter in Game 3 Steph Curry was lost and the rest of his teammates didn't look much better. Lebron James is doing thing no other basketball player has EVER done as he is carrying this team offensively. (Michael Jordan never had 19 rebounds in a playoff game) Cleveland is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as the competition gets tougher and on of those ATS losses was a fluke overtime loss while the Warriors are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against the NBA Central. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-09-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Cleveland Cavaliers +1.5 | Top | 91-96 | Win | 100 | 13 h 24 m | Show |
Golden State at Cleveland 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- So, now that Cleveland broke though and Stephen Curry had once of his first shooting night of his career the 'experts' are looking for hime to bounce-back with a big game and are down-playing Matthew Dellavedova's defense. Remember that Curry wasn't so spectacular in Game 1 either. I remember a playoff series years ago when Larry Bird was never able to 'right' himself for an entire seven game series and the Celtics went down in flames and little credit was given to his defender then. I saw it Sunday I saw this guy get intro Curry's head to the point that he was just 2-of-10 on uncontested shots. Now, I expect him to be better next time out but still not get to the form we witnessed earlier in the playoffs. LeBron will once again be denominate and his surrounding cast will improve at home. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-07-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +8.5 v. Golden State Warriors | 95-93 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- I very rarely say 'you had the right side' after a loss but I thought that I had made a great call on the Cavaliers in Game 1 and came away with an overtime eight-point loss. Truly, if you watched that contest you would think that Cleveland was the 'right side' but the just didn't win and even 'cover' for that matter. Sickening, if you bet the Cavaliers and 'we' did. Now, will Kyrie Irving out for the remainder of the playoffs just how much more can we expect out of LeBron James. I mean really 44 points and a slew of rebounds and assists and steals as well were just not enough. This only means that the Cavaliers will just have to play tougher defense and make more shots. The points are generous and rising. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-04-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +6 v. Golden State Warriors | Top | 100-108 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 51 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 9:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- For seven days now all my 'friends' in the handicapping industry have been telling me that the money has been coming in on the Cavaliers and LeBron James and this may be true but my gut and instincts tell me something different. First, let me start with the opening line of 5½ which I felt was much too short. My number was 6½ and I expected it to go higher as the week wore on. To my surprise the early money was on Cleveland but I ask just how much? Now, as we approach game time money is starting to show for Golden State, after all they have lost just three games at home the entire season (46-3) and will have the MVP and a healthy Klay Thompson. The Cavaliers are hurting with Kevin Love (out) and Kyrie Irving hobbled so I don't see how the 'public' will be on Cleveland even with LeBron rested. I believe by game time that the late money will move toward the Warriors and I don't want to be there. It is just Game 1 of the Finals with plenty of time left for both clubs to recover if handed an opening series loss. I just see the Cavs keeping it close. Take CLEVELAND! |
05-27-15 | Houston Rockets v. Golden State Warriors -10 | 90-104 | Win | 100 | 14 h 30 m | Show
Houston at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Rockets- The Warriors nation certainly got the scare of the season when Stephen Curry when flying over the top and landed on his head in Game 4 in Houston on Monday night but his return settled their weary hearts. Off their humiliating Game 3 loss the Rockets picked themselves off the floor and game out strong to defeat Golden State 128-115 a contests that saw the Warriors come out flat missing their first nine shots while the Rockets started 9-of-11. With Curry sidelined Klay Thompson finally caught fire and made six 3-pointers scoring a series high 24 points. Golden State is 45-3 straight-up at home and will closed out this series easily. Take the WARRIORS! |
05-26-15 | Atlanta Hawks v. Cleveland Cavaliers -8 | 88-118 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show
Atlanta at Cleveland 8:30 ET Cavaliers (-) over Hawks- The Atlanta Hawks blew their chance to get back in this series and they know it! With LeBron James missing his first 10 shots the Hawks built a lead and had control most of Game 3 until Al Horford lost his composure and Atlanta eventually wilted as James scored 37 points his third straight game over 30 and had a triple double. With Kyrie Irving on the side line and Kevin Love gone for the rest of the playoffs James played the point and had 13 assists and has taken over the games. James is on his way to his fifth straight conference final. Take the CAVALIERS! |
05-25-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Houston Rockets +5 | Top | 115-128 | Win | 100 | 14 h 11 m | Show |
Golden State at Houston 9:00 ET Rockets (+) over Warriors- This is what the Rockets do, they get blown out by 25 of more points (35 last time out) and then they recover for a game or two or three if they are up against the Clippers. But, one game will be about it for them here. There is plenty of quit or dog in Houston but even they will respond after their performance on Saturday. Golden State will have difficulty approaching this game without a smirk on their faces as they have now beaten the Rockets seven straight times this season and know even if Houston pulls off a win here that the series will end next time out. Look for the Rockets to pull out all stops and should actually win this game outright but I'd take the points for sure. Take HOUSTON! |
05-24-15 | Atlanta Hawks +9.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | 111-114 | Win | 100 | 14 h 45 m | Show
Atlanta at Cleveland 8:30 ET Hawks (+) over Cavaliers- As if losing the first two playoff games at home in the conference final wasn't bad enough the Atlanta Hawks received more bad news as their best outside shooter the NBA's three-point percentage leader Kyle Korver will be gone for the remainder of the playoffs which won't be long of the Cavaliers have anything to do with it. Cleveland won easily without Kyrie Irving in Game 2 and with a 2-0 series lead may be rested once again as the Cavaliers with LeBron James have enough firepower to win here. Korver isn't the only Hawks banged-up player as Carroll and Milsap are hurting. Still, this is the playoffs and I expect a big enough effort out of Atlanta to keep this one within the 'number.' Take the HAWKS! |
05-21-15 | Houston Rockets v. Golden State Warriors -10 | 98-99 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 3 m | Show
Houston at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors over Rockets- The Warriors found themselves trailing Houston by 16 points early in Game 1 before they mounded a comeback that saw them take the lead within seven minutes. Stephen Curry showed why he is the MVP and the Rockets dropped their fifth straight to Golden State this season. Although this was the closest game of the five losses this season Houston may have lost Dwight Howard for this one and even if he plays his effectiveness can be in doubt. The Warriors are 44-3 straight-up at home and are 19-7-2 ATS at home against a team with a winning road record. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-19-15 | Houston Rockets v. Golden State Warriors -10 | 106-110 | Loss | -109 | 28 h 35 m | Show
Houston at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Rockets- The improbable comeback by the Houston Rockets won't go without consequences as I can't imagine how they will be able to stop patting themselves on the back and get back to the emotional level needed to beat the Warriors at Golden State. The Warriors defeated Houston every meeting during the regular season and all wins were by double-digits. Golden State is 43-3 at home and are 19-6-2 76% ATS in their last 27 games at home against a team with a winning record and the Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-15-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Memphis Grizzlies +5.5 | Top | 108-95 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 54 m | Show |
Golden State at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Warriors- This should be a tough one not only on the court but a tough one to call as it looks like Golden State has regained it's composure winning the last two matches easily by a combined 37 points. The Grizzlies scored a series low 78 points on Wednesday and hasn't scored 100 points yet in the series. With Tony Allen on the sidelines (hamstring pull) Stephen Curry took advantage and had six 3-pointers with six steals to boot. Allen will be back for this contest and the home court will give Memphis the boost they need to cover here. Take the GRIZZLIES! |
05-15-15 | Atlanta Hawks +2.5 v. Washington Wizards | Top | 94-91 | Win | 100 | 11 h 17 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 7:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- The Washington Wizards were so busy taunting the Hawks in Game 5 that they neglected to finish the deal and blew an 11-point fourth quarter lead in their 82-21 loss in Atlanta on Wednesday. John Wall was a surprise performer for the Wiz but wasn't enough and they certainly are a greater threat when he is available but Paul Pierce suffered scoring a playoff low 11 points and continued to yap at Atlanta at every opportunity. The Hawks are waiting for a breakout game from Kyle Korver who had only three-points in Game 5 and is shooting 35 percent for the series. In an oddity the Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six on Friday's while Washington is just 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine Friday games. Take ATLANTA! |
05-14-15 | Houston Rockets v. Los Angeles Clippers -8.5 | 119-107 | Loss | -102 | 14 h 24 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Rockets- 'We' have been right-on in this series posting winners left and right and I made my decision on this contest in the middle of the third period of the Rockets rout over Los Angeles the last time out in Houston. It was obvious during that 124-103 annihilation that the Clippers were just going through the motions until they returned home for Game 6 and this is Game six and they certainly don't want to return to Houston for a Game 7 on Sunday. The Rockets have lost nine of their last 10 in Los Angeles against the Clippers and won't fare much better here. Take the CLIPPERS! |
05-14-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers +2.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 94-73 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show |
Cleveland at Chicago 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Bulls- I'm sure the return to the line-up by Marc Gasol will attract a lot of attention to Chicago as the Bulls are in a 'must' situation at home in Game 6 trailing 3-2. LeBron James even with a sprained ankle just plain took over in Cleveland's 106-101 win as he scores 38 points had 12 rebounds and six assists alone with no turnovers. Kyrie Irving who is also hurting like James with ankle issues broke out of his mini sump and posted 25 points of his own more then he has in the previous two games combined. When LeBron sets his mind to it the Cavaliers are difficult to beat and he is looking to end this series here. Take CLEVELAND! |
05-13-15 | Washington Wizards v. Atlanta Hawks -8 | Top | 81-82 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
Washington at Atlanta 8:00 ET Hawks (-) over Wizards- The Washington Wizards have been a handful in the playoffs sweeping Toronto in four straight with covers and pushing the No.1 seed Hawks into a five game with the series even. The key factor for the Wizards in the availability of guard John Wall who in questionable with broken bones in his hand. Wall hasn't been able to practice any basketball activities and will be greatly missed once again. Washington is 5-0 both straight-up and against the points when he plays and they are just 1-2 when he doesn't. Bradley Beal and Paul Pierce have tried to pick-up the slack but it just isn't enough. Look for slumping sharp-shooter Kyle Korver to regain his form tonight. Take ATLANTA! |
05-12-15 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Houston Rockets +3 | Top | 103-124 | Win | 100 | 14 h 52 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at Houston 9:30 ET Rockets (+) over Clippers- After watching the Rockets get mauled by a total of 58 points in Los Angeles the past two games it would seem impossible for dishearten Houston to pull together and post a win in Game 5. Despite averaging 24.5 points per game James Harden has played a small roll for the Rockets in this series. The biggest problem is Dwight Howard who has been just dreadful fouling out of Game 4 with seven points and six rebounds. Returning home will mean a world of difference even if it;s just for one game. I fully expect the Rockets to show up and send this series back to LosAngeles or at the least cover the number. Take HOUSTON! |
05-11-15 | Golden State Warriors -4.5 v. Memphis Grizzlies | Top | 101-84 | Win | 100 | 13 h 22 m | Show |
Golden State at Memphis 9:30 ET Warriors (-) over Grizzlies- The question here that needs to be answered is 'Have the Warriors lost their mojo?' Shooters Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry have been hounded by Grizzlies defenders and shot a dismal 6-of-26 from 3-point range in Game 3 and Curry is just 4-of-21 in the last two contests. This is not a case of playoff pressure but more of pressure by defensive specialist Tony Allen who not only appears inside the Golden State's shirts but inside their heads as well. Memphis' inside power game was dominate with 43 points and 23 rebounds in Game 3 and the Warriors must also contend with that. This is the biggest game of the year for the Warriors and I expect them to respond. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-10-15 | Houston Rockets v. Los Angeles Clippers -7.5 | 95-128 | Win | 100 | 14 h 33 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Clippers 8:30 ET Clippers (-) over Rockets- You know these are the NBA Playoffs and all of these teams can 'play' basketball and it is surprising when one team takes over and dominates another the way the Clippers are handling the Rockets. Houston is 0-3 against the points in this series and the one game they won they staged a miracle comeback in the second half or they would be down 3-0. If Los Angeles loses here they realize that all the momentum would turn and the Rockets would have the psychological advantage. As far as in conference match-ups are concerned Houston has struggled going 0-5 in their last five against the NBA Pacific while the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five against the NBA Southwest. Most think that the Rockets will bounce-back here and maybe they will be I see the Clippers running over them once again. Take LOS ANGELES! |
05-10-15 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Chicago Bulls +1.5 | Top | 86-84 | Loss | -101 | 9 h 30 m | Show |
Cleveland at Chicago 3:30 ET Bulls (+) over Cavaliers- I don't know if you can tell but the Cleveland Cavaliers even with LeBron James loo different to me. Jimmy Butler has put the defensive clamps on James and the rest of the squad just can't pick-up the slack. It's like Ying and Yang the way the Bulls win with Derek Rose making big shots and hasn't actually played that well in the series. Kyrie Irving was horrible in Game 3 shooting 3-of-13 from the floor and now they claim he has a sore foot. Ever notice how losers manage to come up with 'lame' excuses after a loss of poor performance (see Manny Pacquiao). Pau Gasol may be on the sidelines for this one (he truly is hurt) and his replacement will be Taj Gibson who plays better defense. Look for Noah who is averaging 2.7 points and is just 3-for-16 shooting to emerge. Take CHICAGO! |
05-09-15 | Golden State Warriors v. Memphis Grizzlies +5 | 89-99 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show
Golden State at Memphis 8:00 ET Grizzlies (+) over Warriors- We are all award how effective Golden State has been during the regular season setting a number of team franchise records for wins and winning personal awards but this is the Playoffs and things have a way of evening out. Memphis has played well at home home going 4-0-1 ATS in their last five as hosts while the Warriors are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss. Tony Allen famed for his defense has been giving Klay Thompson fits (3-of-11 from 3-point range with nine turnovers). Take the GRIZZLIES! |
05-09-15 | Atlanta Hawks -4 v. Washington Wizards | Top | 101-103 | Loss | -105 | 18 h 16 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 5:00 ET Wizards (+) over Hawks- After sweeping the regular season series Atlanta is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings and the availability of Washington's John Wall will be sidelined but the Wizards still have Bradley Beal who is averaging 24 points in the series and Wal will be replaced by Ramon Sessions who has 21 points in his last effort. Even though the Hawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six following a ATS win they are just 3-12-1 in their last 16 Conference Semifinals games. But, the kicker is that the Wizards are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games overall and they are 31-12 straight-up at home. Take WIZARDS! |
05-08-15 | Houston Rockets +4.5 v. Los Angeles Clippers | 99-124 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 53 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Rockets (+) over Clippers- The Clippers have covered two straight with Chris Paul and it appears he will be sidelined for Game 3 in Los Angeles. Houston came from behind in the second half Wednesday night as they set franchise record for free throws made (42) and attempted (64) as James Harden scored 32 points. Blake Griffin once again was the center of the Clippers game plan with 34 points and 15 rebounds but once again fell short in the fourth quarter. Houston's Dwight Howard balanced Griffin's performance with 24 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots in Game 2 and once again this one should come down to the final buzzer. Take the ROCKETS! |
05-06-15 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Houston Rockets -6.5 | 109-115 | Loss | -109 | 13 h 1 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Houston 9:30 ET Rockets (+) over Clippers- I mentioned in my write-up of Game 1 of this series that Los Angeles might be better off if Chris Paul doesn't play and I looked like a genie as Austin Rivers had 17 points and pressured James Harden into nine turnovers. Although Harden had 'just' 20 points he did have 12 assists but was not on his game, tonight I expect him to explode along with Dwight Howard after his 22 point, 10 rebound and five steal performance. The rest of the Rockets need to pick up the slack and I expect they will tonight. A second loss at home to open this series may put Houston in a hole that they couldn't recover from. The points will be difficult to overcome but the Rockets are the side. Take HOUSTON! |
05-06-15 | Chicago Bulls v. Cleveland Cavaliers -5.5 | Top | 91-106 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
Chicago at Cleveland 7:10 ET Cavaliers (+) over Bulls- In Game 1 of this playoff series where the Bulls were never seriously threatened they held the lead for the full 48 minutes the first playoff game in the last 85 where the Cavaliers didn't have a lead at any time during the game. Without Kevin Love and J.R. Smith for one more game Lebron James will have to step-up him game for Cleveland to get over the rejuvenated Bulls. James had 19 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and nine assists in Game 1 but it wasn't enough as he will have to pick up the scoring load. Those numbers would be impressive for most others but most feel that James was responsible for the 99-92 defeat. This time the Cavaliers get it done. Take CLEVELAND! |
05-05-15 | Washington Wizards v. Atlanta Hawks -6 | 90-106 | Win | 100 | 9 h 31 m | Show
Washington at Atlanta Hawks (-) over Wizards- well, if the zig-zag theory (Taking the loser of Game 1 in Game 2) is to hold, now is that time to take advantage and take Atlanta. The odds-makers increased the points spread here as they are expecting money to come on the Hawks. But, it has not shown up yet. Washington has now won and covered five straight in the playoffs and are 8-1 on the road the past two postseasons including three straight in the 2015 playoffs. The Wizards held Atlanta to 35 second half points in Game 1 after the Hawks scored 63 in the first half and held a 12-point lead in the third quarter. This time around the Hawks complete the task. Take ATLANTA! |

05-04-15 | Chicago Bulls v. Cleveland Cavaliers -4.5 | 99-92 | Loss | -111 | 10 h 59 m | Show
Chicago at Cleveland 7:00 ET Cavaliers (-) over Bulls- This is the Playoff series in the East that most have been wanting to see and here it is but with a slight tarnish as the Cavaliers will be without two main clogs. Kevin Love is down for the rest of the season and J.R Smith will miss two games after being suspended from actions in the final game against Boston. Cleveland won three of four regular season meetings while the Bulls are coming off their most lopsided win (120-66) of the year over Milwaukee. Chicago may have Derek Rose back but the Cavaliers have LeBron James. Take CLEVELAND! |
05-03-15 | Washington Wizards v. Atlanta Hawks -5 | 104-98 | Loss | -107 | 4 h 32 m | Show
Washington at Atlanta 1:05 ET Hawks (-) over Wizards- The Washington Wizards who were 0-3 against Toronto in the regular season were the only team to not only win their playoff series 4-0 but went 4-0 ATS in the process defeating the Raptors. The No. 1 seed Atlanta Hawks eliminated the Brooklyn Nets in six games after setting a franchise record with 60 wins during the regular season. Atlanta won three of the four meetings this year including both games in Atlanta and are 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Take ATLANTA! |
05-01-15 | Atlanta Hawks -3.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | 111-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show
Atlanta at Brooklyn 8:00 ET Hawks (-) over Nets- The Hawks were good to us last time out as the closed with a rush and covered the -9 with a 107-97 win over the upstart Nets. Brooklyn is weakened by the inconsistent play of point guard Deron Williams who had only five-points in Game 5 with a 2-8 shooting performance after scoring 35 points in the Nets Game 4 win. The Hawks had a 2-0 lead in the series before dropping both game in Brooklyn but are ready to close out the series here. Take ATLANTA! |
04-30-15 | Chicago Bulls v. Milwaukee Bucks +4 | Top | 120-66 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
Chicago at Milwaukee 7:00 ET Bucks (+) over Bulls- The Milwaukee Bucks may be down 3-2 to the No. 3 seeded Chicago Bulls but they have all the momentum after winning the last two contests as they have shutdown Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler who are 10-41 shooting. Jason Kidd has this team believing and playing all-out despite being down 3-0 in this series. The emergence of Michael Carter-Williams who was traded from the 76ers to the Bucks in mid-season has had a huge impact transforming Milwaukee's offense. Not that a trend like this should matter except maybe it's payday but the Bucks are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games, regardless it's MILWAUKEE! |
04-29-15 | Brooklyn Nets v. Atlanta Hawks -8.5 | 97-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show
Brooklyn at Atlanta 7:00 ET Hawks over Nets- Do you believe that we saw the real Deron Williams in Game four as he busted out with 35 points Monday in the Nets 120-115 overtime win? Well, I don't! Even in the loss Atlanta dominated the board out-rebounding Brooklyn 55-40 but just could make any shots. This time around in familiar surroundings I expect Kyle Korver who is 4-of-18 from 3-point range the past two games in Brooklyn to return to form at home. Take ATLANTA! |
04-27-15 | Atlanta Hawks v. Brooklyn Nets +4.5 | 115-120 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show
Atlanta at Brooklyn 7:00 ET Nets (+) over Hawks- The eighth-seeded Nets have a chance to even the series against the best in the East as they host the Atlanta Hawks in Brooklyn Monday night. Brooklyn is still waiting for their all-nothing playoff guard Deron Williams (2-for-15 from the floor) who watched the final 16 minutes from the bench to play well in a meaningful game. The Nets beat the Hawks for the first time this season after six straight losses and they liked the experience enough to repeat it once again tonight. Take BROOKLYN! |
04-26-15 | Houston Rockets v. Dallas Mavericks +3 | 109-121 | Win | 100 | 13 h 40 m | Show
Houston at Dallas 9:00 ET Mavericks (+) over Rockets- The Dallas Mavericks are in a tough spot, not only are they down 0-3 in this series but they are crying about the called from officials and they is a sure sign of a team that has lost their confidence. The Mavs are hurting with injuries and even a career playoff high by Monta Ellis could bail them out against this rejuvenated Rockets club. With Dwight Howard's return they have become a true contender in the West. One thing though Dallas does have the heart to rebound and pull off a victory here. Take the MAVERICKS! |
04-26-15 | Toronto Raptors v. Washington Wizards -5.5 | 94-125 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Toronto at Washington 6:30 ET Wizards (-) over Raptors- The Washington Wizards are not only beating up Toronto physically on the court but verbally as well as Paul Pierce continue to shoot barbs as well a three's. No team has ever recovered from a 3-0 playoff deficit in the NBA and the Raptors are not about to be the first. Pierce has made 10-of-18 3-pointers in the series and his playoff experience has bolstered the Wizards who are playing their nest ball of the season right now. The Raptors who started the season as one of the hottest teams in the NBA have slipped going 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. Take WASHINGTON! |
04-26-15 | Los Angeles Clippers +6.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 114-105 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at San Antonio 3:30 ET Clippers (+) over Spurs- Really now, did you see the Clippers performance in Game 3 at when they scored all of 73 points, when Chris Paul who I am tried of hearing is the best point guard in the NBA couldn't even start on the Spurs and has yet to play 'big' in a game that matters. Los Angeles aims to come out with a renewed focus on Sunday and it's hard to believe that they wouldn't be focused in any of these playoff games. In spite of their embarrassing defeat the Clippers are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine road games while the Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. In a 'must' situation Los Angeles will come to play. Take the CLIPPERS! |
04-25-15 | Memphis Grizzlies v. Portland Trailblazers -2.5 | Top | 115-109 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 55 m | Show |
Memphis at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (-) over Grizzlies- The Trailblazers have now lost six in-a-row straight-up and are facing a team in Memphis that is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games against teams with winning records. Portland is pretty bang-up with injuries taking their toll as they are 0-5 ATS in their last five against teams with winning records. As a matter of fact the trends are so back when looking at the Blazers the only positive I find is that the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings and the favorite is also 4-1 ATS. But, one one of those games has bee played in Portland as the Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS in their last six in Portland. So why has Vegas made the Trailblazers a favorite here? Well, because it's now or never for them and I expect the number to drop by tipoff. Take PORTLAND! |
04-25-15 | Golden State Warriors -7 v. New Orleans Pelicans | 109-98 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show
Golden State at New Orleans 8:00 ET Warriors (-) over Pelicans- New Orleans must have come to the realization that they just don't have what it take to win games down the stretch as they totally 'choked' blowing a 20-point 4th quarter lead in Game 3 Thursday night. They looked and played scared as they threw up 3-pointer after 3-pointer and never even tried to get the ball inside to Davis. The Pelicans have blown a number of games during the regular season in the finals quarter as they just don't shoot free throw well under pressure. The Warriors on another winning steak have won seven straight as Curry and Thompson just keep applying the pressure. New Orleans is in a funk and the Warriors will win going away. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
04-25-15 | Atlanta Hawks v. Brooklyn Nets +2.5 | 83-91 | Win | 100 | 7 h 34 m | Show
Atlanta at Brooklyn 3:00 ET Nets (+) over Hawks- There a number of things that bother me about the Nets (not just that they really aren't that good) and one of my concerns is that they were only 16-23-2 ATS at home this season while Atlanta was 24-15 ATS on the road. Now, another thought is here is a team that 'covered' the two road playoff games in Atlanta and now they are an underdog at home. (As they should be) The pressure is on Nets guard Deron Williams as he was called out before they playoffs and has failed miserably going 6-18 from the field and just not having any positive impact. He had a wide open 12-footer to tie with second left and wasn't even close although he said it 'felt good' when it left his hand. (It never had a chance). Look for the Nets to respond at home and pull off the upset win here. Take BROOKLYN! |
04-24-15 | Los Angeles Clippers +4.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 73-100 | Loss | -107 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at San Antonio 9:30 ET Clippers (+) over Spurs- 'We' are 2-0 in this series with two Megabuck Best Bet winners and I'm coming with another winner here. After the way Blake Griffin and the Clippers blew the final :12 seconds to allow San Antonio to extend the game into over time most probably feel the Spurs are in the driver seat. Los Angeles is 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games including 5-1-1 ATS against teams with winning records. Granted the Spurs have been great at home and overall the last six weeks but the have an ailing Tony Parker and will be replaced with playing time for the legend Patty Mills. The Spurs had won 11 straight opening playoff series games with the last opening loss coming against Memphis in 2011 a series they lost. Take the CLIPPERS! |
04-24-15 | Toronto Raptors +4 v. Washington Wizards | 99-106 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 11 m | Show
Toronto at Washington 8:00 ET Wizards (-) over Raptors- I'm sure all the trends will say that the Raptors are the side here as they are down 0-2 and have their backs against the wall against a lower seed. But, I just don't see it. Washington is 29-12 at home while Toronto is 22-19 (20-20 ATS) on the road and they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games while the Wizards are 7-3 ATS in their last 10. Toronto is 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a winning record and Washington is 8-2-1 ATS following an ATS win. The Wizards are putting it together and the Raptors are falling apart. Take WASHINGTON! |
04-24-15 | Houston Rockets v. Dallas Mavericks +1 | 130-128 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 16 m | Show
Houston at Dallas 7:05 ET Mavericks over Rockets- This looks like an impossible side as the Mavericks have lost Tyson Chandler for the season and Rajon Rondo is done playing for Dallas. The claim Rondo has a back injury but we we all know that bringing him to run the Mavericks has been a disaster as they averaging less points with his poor shooting and refusal to listen to any coaching. Believe it or not Dallas will be better without Rondo as the team as a whole couldn't stand him with his ego and terrible play in the clutch. Somehow, this team will show what kind of professionals they are and get it done tonight. Take the MAVERICKS! |
