2026 Week 7 Power Rankings: Three Unbeatens Lead the Way
2026 Week 7 Power Rankings put San Francisco first at 6-0, followed by Kansas City and Buffalo. Minnesota is also unbeaten, but I’m not ready to put the Vikings ahead of the NFL’s three strongest contenders.
Seattle and the Rams remain my controversial calls. Their records aren’t pretty, although both have enough talent to beat teams ranked above them. Here’s where all 32 clubs stand entering Week 7.
I’m Razor Ray Monohan. Records matter, but so do the opponents you’ve beaten and the weaknesses you’ve managed to hide.
I rank teams by how I expect them to perform against serious competition, with QB play, coaching and roster strength carrying plenty of weight.
Razor Ray’s 2026 Week 7 Power Rankings: Top 10
San Francisco moves ahead of Kansas City, Minnesota climbs to fourth, and Green Bay makes a substantial jump into the Top 10. Seattle holds fifth despite three losses.
1. San Francisco 49ers (6-0)
Kyle Shanahan has the NFL’s most complete team right now. Brock Purdy runs the offense efficiently, Christian McCaffrey provides balance, and George Kittle remains a dependable target when the receiving group gets thin.
Monday’s 23-17 victory over Washington wasn’t convincing. San Francisco led 20-3 at halftime before letting the Commanders back into the game, and the passing attack lost some rhythm after Mike Evans aggravated his Achilles injury.
Six victories earn first place.
That second-half performance, however, won’t cut it against stronger opponents.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (5-0)
Patrick Mahomes has another unbeaten team, and Andy Reid is getting serious help from the running game. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Kansas City’s 22-6 victory over the Chargers.
Still, the offensive line remains my biggest concern. Mahomes can compensate for protection problems, but a defense that generates pressure without blitzing could give Kansas City trouble. Otherwise, the Chiefs have a legitimate argument for first.
3. Buffalo Bills (5-1)
Josh Allen and Joe Brady have Buffalo’s offense rolling. Unfortunately, the defense keeps giving opponents opportunities to hang around.
The Bills escaped Las Vegas 33-30 after allowing Kirk Cousins to throw for 313 yards. Allen can overcome those defensive lapses against ordinary opponents, but I’m less comfortable trusting that formula against the AFC’s elite.
4. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
Kevin O’Connell has Minnesota unbeaten, and the defense deserves considerable credit.
The Vikings have climbed from seventh in my Week 5 rankings to fourth.
The passing game still leaves questions. Minnesota has controlled games without requiring extraordinary quarterback production, but eventually somebody will force the Vikings into a shootout.
Until the offense proves it can handle that assignment, fourth is as high as I’m going.
RAZOR’S READ: Minnesota has earned its perfect record. The test comes when an opponent forces the Vikings to win through the air instead of leaning on their defense.
5. Seattle Seahawks (3-3)
Seattle at fifth with three losses? I know that’s pushing it. Mike Macdonald’s defense remains good enough to frustrate strong opponents, but the offense isn’t rewarding that effort.
The Seahawks managed only 14 points in their overtime loss to Denver. Their running game needs better production, and promising drives have to end with touchdowns more often.
I’m keeping Seattle fifth because its defense can still dictate games against quality opponents. But the Seahawks are asking too much of that unit, and another offensive performance like Denver’s will force me to reconsider.
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2)
Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes against Houston, and Jacksonville still lost 34-31. That tells you why the Jaguars aren’t higher.
Even so, Liam Coen has improved the offense, but penalties and defensive breakdowns keep undermining good performances.
Jacksonville can challenge quality opponents when it plays clean football.
Getting four clean quarters remains the problem.
7. Chicago Bears (4-2)
Chicago responded to its blowout loss against Green Bay by beating Atlanta 31-23. Caleb Williams threw for 305 yards, showing what Ben Johnson’s offense can produce when the protection and timing cooperate.
Williams can create plays when protection breaks down, but Chicago can’t rely on improvisation every week. Ben Johnson needs the offense operating on schedule against better defenses, not just making highlights when a play falls apart.
That’s why the Bears remain seventh in my 2026 Week 7 Power Rankings.
8. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
Green Bay has beaten Chicago 31-7 and Dallas 23-13 in consecutive games.
Jordan Love gives the Packers a dangerous passing attack, while the defense has delivered two strong performances.
For now, Josh Jacobs’ health remains important to their offensive balance. If Green Bay can establish the run without sacrificing its passing production, Matt LaFleur’s club has room to climb.
9. New England Patriots (4-2)
Drake Maye is giving New England dependable quarterback play. The Patriots have beaten Las Vegas and the Jets in consecutive weeks, and their offense looks considerably more comfortable than it did earlier in the season.
Maye is handling pressure better, but the Patriots can’t make that their offensive plan. Against a defense that can rush four and cover seven, those protection problems become much more expensive.
10. Los Angeles Rams (2-4)
Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay are the reason I’m keeping the Rams in the Top 10. Their offense has enough ability to trouble almost anybody, as Buffalo discovered in a 37-34 overtime victory.
Then Los Angeles lost 18-16 to Arizona. That’s a miserable result for a team with playoff expectations.
I’m giving the Rams credit for their ceiling, but that patience has an expiration date. Los Angeles needs victories, not another lecture about how talented its roster is.
The Rest of the 2026 Week 7 Power Rankings
Baltimore leads the next group despite losing to Cleveland. Denver and Pittsburgh are collecting victories, while Houston has won twice after opening 0-4.
You can compare every club’s record with the official NFL standings.
| Rank | Team | Record |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Baltimore Ravens | 4-2 |
| 12 | Detroit Lions | 3-2 |
| 13 | Denver Broncos | 4-2 |
| 14 | Cincinnati Bengals | 3-2 |
| 15 | Houston Texans | 2-4 |
| 16 | Pittsburgh Steelers | 4-2 |
| 17 | Carolina Panthers | 3-2 |
| 18 | Las Vegas Raiders | 3-3 |
| 19 | Dallas Cowboys | 2-4 |
| 20 | Cleveland Browns | 4-2 |
| 21 | Atlanta Falcons | 2-4 |
| 22 | New York Giants | 3-2-1 |
| 23 | Philadelphia Eagles | 2-4 |
| 24 | New Orleans Saints | 2-4 |
| 25 | New York Jets | 2-4 |
2026 Week 7 Power Rankings: Denver, Houston and Cleveland
Denver beat Seattle 17-14 in overtime, while Pittsburgh rallied past Tampa Bay 26-19. Neither victory was comfortable, but both teams are finishing tight games.
Houston’s 34-31 win over Jacksonville was especially important. C.J. Stroud threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Texans their second straight victory after opening the season with four losses.
Cleveland presents a different problem.
The Browns are 4-2 and just held Baltimore to ten points, yet their limited offense keeps them twentieth. Philadelphia sits even lower at 2-4 after losing to Carolina.
The Eagles have enough talent to play better. I’m done giving them credit for performances they haven’t delivered, which is why they sit 23rd in my 2026 Week 7 Power Rankings.
2026 Week 7 Power Rankings: The Bottom Seven
Arizona beat the Rams, Tennessee upset Indianapolis, and Washington nearly completed a comeback against San Francisco.
Those results offer encouragement without erasing the weaknesses that landed these clubs near the bottom.
| Rank | Team | Record |
|---|---|---|
| 26 | Indianapolis Colts | 2-4 |
| 27 | Arizona Cardinals | 2-4 |
| 28 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 1-5 |
| 29 | Washington Commanders | 1-4-1 |
| 30 | Tennessee Titans | 1-5 |
| 31 | Miami Dolphins | 0-5 |
| 32 | Los Angeles Chargers | 0-6 |
Indianapolis fell 26-20 to Tennessee, another damaging result for a team struggling to find consistency. Washington showed more fight in the second half against San Francisco, although its early mistakes proved costly.
The Chargers remain last after scoring six points against Kansas City. Justin Herbert’s ability isn’t in question; the team’s inability to turn it into victories certainly is.
Meanwhile, Miami is also winless at 0-5. Neither club has earned a higher ranking.

2026 Week 7 Power Rankings: Three Betting Situations I’m Watching
Before I trust a team to cover, I want answers on three situations that could change how I handicap its next game.
- San Francisco’s receiving depth
Mike Evans’ Achilles issue makes the 49ers’ available pass-catching options worth checking before backing a large favorite. - Buffalo’s defensive matchups
Before backing the Bills as a substantial favorite, I want to know whether their defense can contain an opponent’s passing game without needing Allen to win a shootout. - Seattle’s offensive efficiency
The Seahawks have defensive talent, but scoring only 14 in Denver exposed the difficulty of covering spreads without consistent offensive production.

Razor Ray’s Final Take on the 2026 Week 7 Power Rankings
Six weeks into the season, I’m comfortable putting San Francisco ahead of Kansas City. The 49ers have earned it, even if Monday’s second half against Washington left plenty to criticize.
My toughest calls are further down the board. Cleveland’s 4-2 record doesn’t convince me its offense belongs in the Top 15, while Green Bay’s recent performances make eighth place look increasingly conservative.
That’s where these rankings get interesting. A record tells me what a team has accomplished. I’m judging what it can do next Sunday.
RAZOR RAY’S TAKE: The Rams can keep telling me how talented they are. I’d prefer they show me on the scoreboard. And Seattle? A Top 5 defense is impressive, but somebody on that offense had better start paying the rent.
