Here is a look at their off-season and how their acquisitions will aid their team.
The Colts were a let down down last season, but to no fault of their own. Losing Andrew Luck to retirement is something no one was able to foresee and given the circumstances, 7-9 isn’t all that bad.
They made a few roster altering moves this off-season, including one at the quarterback helm. They didn’t lose much in free agency and will now look to return to the playoffs for the first time in the post-Andrew Luck era.
Here is a look at their best free acquisitions, both in-house and newcomers, and how they will improve the Colts roster.

Key Free Agents Acquisitions
- Anthony Castonzo
- DeForest Buckner
- Philip Rivers
- Xavier Rhodes
Castonzo is a really big re-signing as many assumed he was leaning more towards retirement. Instead, he signed a two year deal with the Colts. He will keep the Colts ultra-talented offensive line in tact, at least for the time being.

Although Buckner is a really talented player and will improve their defensive line, the move to acquire him was rather puzzling. They traded the 13th overall pick and then signed him to an extension worth 21 million dollars per year. Is he worth that much?
Only time will tell, but they sure do have a lot invested in him.
Rivers is the biggest signing for the Colts. He only signed a one year deal, so it isn’t a surprise to anyone that he merely a placeholder until they land their next franchise guy.
After a disappointing season last year, Rivers will look to rebound and lead the Colts back to the playoffs.
Rhodes was signed just a few days ago, but this signing doesn’t have the amp it would’ve just a few years ago. His play has dropped significantly in recent seasons, but a one year, prove it deal is the case here.
2020 Indianapolis Colts Predictions: Off Season Analysis
The Colts improved their roster from 2019 to 2020 and are the favorites to win their division with the departure of Deandre Hopkins.
The Titans are still not getting respect from the oddsmakers and after making the AFC championship last season, they aren’t favored to win their division. As for now, the Colts have one of the best rosters in their division and will surely be competing for a home playoff game.
2020 Indianapolis Colts Win Total Prediction
I think Philip Rivers will continue to decline in play, but their improved defense will keep them in games. I am interested to see what they do in the draft and rest of free agency but for now, I am not too sold on the Colts.

I think they hit the over, but JUST BARELY. 9-7 is my prediction for the 2020 Colts, but if one was to argue for the under, I wouldn’t fight it.
