A pair of NFC South foes finish off their respective season without a playoff birth for either team. The Atlanta Falcons, fresh off their upset win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 16, will look to close out their regular season with a win at home.
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET as Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints look for the season sweep against the Falcons.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints will look to salvage their season with a season-ending road win against the Falcons on Sunday. The Saints have been a mess this year in nearly every facet of the game, especially on defense.
New Orleans is either last or next-to-last in almost every defensive category, and that unit is sure to get a complete overhaul once this season is finally in the books.
Thankfully, the Saints still have Drew Brees, who is having another outstanding season despite dealing with injuries.
Brees has thrown for more than 4,500 yards and has a touchdown: interception ratio of nearly 3:1. The Saints’ offense struggled early as they tried to get used to life without Jimmy Graham, but Brees bounced back nicely despite the team’s woeful defense.
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks has 1,116 yards and nine touchdowns this year, and the Saints are hoping their offense can continue to light it up as they look to nab the season sweep over Atlanta.
The Atlanta Falcons handed the mighty Carolina Panthers their first loss of the season in Week 16, defeating them 17-13 in Atlanta.
It was the highlight to a disappointing season that began with such high expectations are starting the year 5-0.
Matt Ryan’s numbers have been down this season, throwing nearly as many interceptions as touchdowns, and a poor division record also contributed to the Falcons’ downfall.
Julio Jones got the best of Carolina’s trash-talking cornerback Josh Norman in Week 16, and he proved once again why he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL.
Jones has 127 receptions for 1,722 yards this season, and he’s picked the Falcons up when they needed a boost.
Atlanta’s defense is middle of the road at best, and it struggled to contain Brees when the two teams met in New Orleans in Week 6.
If The Falcons want to leave the Georgia Dome with a win, they have to keep riding the momentum they gained after beating Carolina last week.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 52
The Saints looked great against Jacksonville, but that was Jacksonville. The Saints are also terrible on the road, where they’ve averaged less than 15 points per game over their last three road contests.
The Falcons are still buzzing after their “Super Bowl” win against the Panthers. This seems like a low-scoring game to me.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Atlanta 24 – New Orleans 20
The Falcons will pull through in a sluggish contest to finish their season at 9-7.
