Both teams come into Week 3 after close games last week, but one team is winless and the other got the win after both looked bad in their openers.
Football Outsiders has the Colts ranked 26th through two games and the Titans ranked 30th. The sample size is small but tells an important story of two teams expected to be better at this point. Tennessee definitely had the better last game, however.
Indianapolis Colts
The regular season win total for the Colts was 9 when the season started and has since dropped to 6.5. That’s a big jump after two games but it looks deserved.
The Colts were better in this last game although they lost, but they ended up barely covering the spread against the Rams. The score of 24-27 was better than their last showing of 16-28 against the Seahawks.
This was a game in Indianapolis though, and they were down big early before benefitting from a botched Rams punt for a TD. Wentz threw a strange unnecessary shovel pass interception, but also had a TD and 247 yards.
Indianapolis couldn’t get much going with their run game, but Michael Pittman had a good game with 123 receiving yards. Wentz was injured and Eason had to come in, throwing 1 interception on 5 attempts.
The
Tennessee Titans
The regular season win total for the Colts was 9 when the season started and has improved to 9.5 juiced to the over. Despite a poor showing in Week 1, they did enough in Week 2 to impress.
Titans played a good game even though they were down big early to the Seahawks. They won 33-30 in a bounce-back after getting blown out by the Cardinals in the first game. They even had a TD questionably overturned after replay but scored 17 straight points to end the game.
Derrick Henry carried this team with 3 TDs, but Julio Jones and Ryan Tannehill both had good games as well. They pretty much all need to play well to get wins unless AJ Brown steps up.
As of right now, it looks like the Titans are legitimate, and the Colts are not quite where they should be. This game will either turn that upside down or confirm this narrative.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Tennessee Titans -5.5
The Titans are the bet in this matchup. I hate betting on public favorites, but the Colts haven’t shown me they can contend against a decent opponent (barring gifted TDs like in last game). Wentz is so far questionable for the game.
Indianapolis can’t run the ball, and they can’t stop the pass. Their run defense is decent, but Tennessee can beat them through the air, and still test their run D with Henry.
