Packers Stats
Green Bay has generated 1,657 offensive yards through five games, including 302 rushing yards. The Packers have relied heavily on their passing attack, with the ground game struggling to provide consistent production. Better early-down execution remains an important priority for LaFleur.
Christian Watson delivered 143 receiving yards and two TD’s against Chicago. His speed gives Green Bay a dangerous vertical option.
The Packers need more dependable production from their running backs.
Green Bay’s passing attack is producing, but its lack of rushing balance remains a legitimate concern.
Defensively, Green Bay has allowed 1,543 total yards through five games. Opponents have generated 997 net passing yards against the Packers.
The defense has been effective at forcing mistakes.
Green Bay recorded five takeaways against Chicago, with Xavier McKinney contributing two interceptions. That performance helped the Packers control the game and provided their offense with additional possessions. Maintaining that discipline against Dallas will be important.
Injuries are a concern along the defensive front. Javon Hargrave suffered a serious Achilles injury, while receiver Skyy Moore and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste missed Thursday’s practice.
Cowboys Stats
Dallas has averaged 27.6 points per game through five contests. The Cowboys have relied heavily on their passing attack, while their rushing production has been less dependable. Offensive coordinator Klayton Adams has acknowledged the need to establish a clearer offensive identity.
CeeDee Lamb remains one of Prescott’s primary targets. He was a full participant in Thursday’s practice despite a thigh injury.
Javonte Williams gives Dallas a physical option in the backfield.
Defensively, the Cowboys have struggled to prevent big gains. Their inability to consistently limit explosive plays has contributed to the team’s disappointing start.
Dallas has also lacked a dependable pass rush.
The Cowboys are making adjustments to their defensive coaching staff, including the addition of veteran assistant Mike Pettine. Defensive coordinator Christian Parker remains responsible for improving a unit that has surrendered too much yardage. The personnel and execution problems won’t disappear simply because another coach joins the staff.
Cornerback Cobie Durant missed Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown returned to limited participation, providing a potential boost to the defensive rotation.
Cowboys vs. Packers QB Matchup
Dak Prescott has thrown for 1,381 yards and nine TD’s against three interceptions through five games. The Dallas QB remains the centerpiece of Schottenheimer’s passing attack. His ability to deliver accurate throws downfield gives the Cowboys a chance against virtually any opponent.
Prescott has been effective when his protection holds up. His experience allows him to recognize defensive coverage and attack favorable matchups.
Handling pressure remains a significant challenge.
Green Bay counters with Jordan Love, who has passed for 1,408 yards and 10 TD’s against three interceptions. Love has demonstrated improved timing with his receiving corps.
Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two TD’s against Chicago. His accuracy helped Green Bay sustain possessions and create explosive gains. The Packers will look for similar execution against Dallas.

Both QB’s have the arm talent to attack defenses vertically.
Prescott faces a Green Bay defense that has generated pressure on more than 42% of opposing dropbacks. Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon has also shown a willingness to blitz, forcing quarterbacks to identify pressure before the snap.
Love faces a Dallas defense that has struggled to maintain coverage discipline. The Packers can challenge that secondary with Watson and Matthew Golden, particularly when protection allows longer routes to develop. Dallas needs better communication to avoid surrendering easy completions.
Prescott has the experience to counter Green Bay’s defensive looks. Love has an opportunity to take advantage of a vulnerable opponent, provided the Packers protect him consistently.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers bottom line: Green Bay has the more dependable defensive structure, while Dallas brings enough passing talent to make this a competitive Sunday night matchup.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers Football Betting Trends

- Plus, Dallas has a 6-0-1 record in their last 7 away games in terms of totals.
- In their last 4 regular season games as underdogs, the Cowboys are 4-0 on totals.
- The Packers have a 4-1 record on totals in their last 5 regular season games following a win.

- The Packers are 4-2 on totals in their last 6 games as favorites during the regular season.
Cowboys Packers Free Pick: Packers -1.5
Here is my Cowboys Packers free pick: I’m taking Green Bay Packers -1.5. Dallas has enough offensive talent to win this game, but that defense has been a liability for five weeks. I’m not interested in trusting it at Lambeau Field.
The Cowboys have already allowed 37 explosive plays, tied for fourth-most in the NFL. That is a serious problem against a Green Bay offense with receivers capable of getting behind coverage.
Green Bay doesn’t need to establish a dominant running game to exploit this matchup.
I’ll lay the short number against a Dallas defense that keeps giving opponents opportunities they haven’t earned.
The Cowboys have also struggled to generate consistent pressure, which gives Love opportunities to attack downfield. Dallas recently brought in Mike Pettine to help its defensive staff, but coaching adjustments aren’t going to fix every missed assignment overnight. The Packers have a legitimate opportunity to take advantage of those problems.
My concern is Green Bay’s depleted defensive line and secondary. Prescott can make this uncomfortable if the Packers give him time to find Lamb and George Pickens.
But I’m getting the home team at less than a FG, and Dallas still hasn’t demonstrated it can defend consistently for four quarters. Green Bay has the offensive weapons to punish those breakdowns. I’ll put Packers -1.5 on the card and make the Cowboys prove they can stop somebody.
