Thursday, November 2nd finds Atlantic Division rivals the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors tipping off at Wells Fargo Arena.
While the Raptors are playing their sixth game this is only the fourth for Philly who already got the rest advantage in the prior win (114-107) over Toronto and will face them again on the second night of a back-to-back while the 76ers have been off since Saturday.
Season Series
Last season the 76ers took three of the Atlantic Division rival’s four matches while Toronto holds the all-time record between the clubs with 62 victories in 107 matches.
Toronto Raptors
New coach Darko Rajakovic is finding that implementing a new offensive system has growing pains as his team struggled to adapt. Entering Wednesday they were the only team yet to score 110 points in a game but broke that threshold with the 130-111 victory versus the Bucks.
They’ve been in every game with their defense working but small miscues have been the difference in at least two of their three losses.
In the prior meeting, the Raptors were missing their best two of their best three defenders (O.G. Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa) and aren’t likely to have Achiuwa again in this match.

Toronto entered Wednesday’s match ranked 30th offensively (100.8), tied for third defensively (103.5), and registered a net differential of minus -2.8 which ranked 19th overall.
After the victory (with a few games still to finish) they climbed to 18th offensively, dropped to 10th defensively and improved to a plus +1.9 net differential which ranks 12th overall.

Philadelphia 76ers
James Harden is finally gone and the 76ers can move forward without the drama hanging over their heads. Daryl Morey likely didn’t get his ideal package back but the caustic energy of having the disenchanted shooting guard around wasn’t worth the negative impact.
What Philly does get is a young asset in KJ Martin plus some vets (Robert Covington, Marcus Morris, Nic Batum) who’ll provide depth off the bench.
In addition, Philly gets 2026 and 2028 first-round picks, 2029 swap rights, plus two second-round picks, all of which Morey can use to add another asset.
76ers Stats
As of this writing, Philly ranks 5th offensively (118.6), and 12th defensively (107.7) with a net differential of plus +10.9 which ranks third overall.

To wit, heading into the match Wednesday versus the Bucks the starting 5 of Barnes, Schroder, Anunoby, Siakam, and Poeltl were a plus 29 which is the third-highest of all +/- lineups.
However, all other Raptors lineups were a minus -42. The oddity of this situation is the best 3-point shooters on the club come off the bench like Gary Trent Jr., Gradey Dick, and Otto Porter Jr (the latter playing for the first time Wednesday and shooting 2 of 4 from deep).
They’ve vacillated up and down in each game so if they stay on trend this will be a poor 3-point shooting night – – however with Anunoby back in the lineup and Porter Jr. replacing McDaniels minutes, there may be room for optimism.
That said, the 76ers should be firing on all cylinders having moved past the Harden era and into the Tyrese Maxey era and again, haven’t played since Saturday.
Siakam called the Bucks | 76ers games must-wins but the rest advantage and upward momentum in the 76ers locker room is likely too much to overcome.
The 76ers opened at -3 but vaulted to 8.5 which feels a tad too much so I’ll take Philly for the win but just short of the spread.
