The big question is how the Spurs’ youngsters will respond to the way they lost Game 4. Moreover, Mitch Johnson needs to learn lessons from the loss and be much better in Game 5.
Veteran De’Aaron Fox didn’t take control late in the match, so Johnson may need to make the tweak to play Dylan Harper late as he can at least get unimpeded to the bucket. The question is whether anyone on the Spurs can manage the team on the court in clutch time.
The numbers confirm the arrival of both sqauds who have feasted this postseason. To wit, New York ranks first in offense (123.3), defense (103.5), and net rating (+19.8). In comparison, the Spurs rank third in postseason offense (115.4), second in defense (104.4), and also second in net rating (+11.0).
The Spurs have been their own worst enemy, building double-digit leads but losing in clutch time. Rather, they need to use their anger as motivation and learn from their mistakes.
