LeBron James led the way with 36 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists while Westbrook dropped a triple-double of 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists hitting four of his seven 3-point attempts.
Frank Vogel elected to play big which paid dividends with Wenyen Gabriel scoring 17 points while Avery Bradley and Austin Reaves scored 14 and 10 respectively.
The Lakers were hot from the perimeter hitting 19 of their 43 attempts for an efficiency of 44.2 percent.
Talen Horton-Tucker (ankle), Carmelo Anthony (illness), and Wayne Ellington (illness) are questionable. Anthony Davis (ankle), and Kendrick Nunn (knee) are both out indefinitely.
Washington Wizards
Although the Wizards lost to the Knicks they made a game of it by erasing 14 of the 15 points they trailed by with four minutes left in the final frame but weren’t able to finish the job.
Returning to the arena he played his first three seasons with Kristaps Porzingis endured the boos to put up a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds plus an assist and a block.
Kyle Kuzma almost single-handedly brought the Wizards back in the match scoring three of his four 3-pointers in those waning minutes and finished with 18 points, five rebounds, and nine assists. The trio of Cory Kispert (14), Rui Hachimura (11), and Raul Neto (11) were the other Wizards to score in double-figures.
Vernon Carey Jr. (calf) missed the game Friday versus New York and is questionable for Saturday. Bradley Beal (wrist) had season-ending surgery.
