The teams had a preview of each other in the preseason, with the Warriors winning; however, Luka Doncic sat out that match, so it wasn’t a full test.
Each club’s roster is decidedly different with the Warriors devastated by injury while the Lakers overhauled their roster to build around star Luka Doncic.
Golden State is a roster in flux, with Jimmy Butler still out nursing his injured knee while Kristaps Porzingis awaits information from the doctors on what his real issues are. That puts extra pressure on Stephen Curry to carry the load, although early receipts on the addition of rookie Yaxel Lendeborg are positive.

Given the uncertainty of how Curry will feel after tweaking his ankle and the bevy of Warriors out for this match, this should be an easy task for the Lakers, who I expect to have one of the best offenses in the league this season.
Doncic excels at working with big men and with all due respect to Deandre Ayton he’s yet to have a worthy candidate for his PnR man until the arrival of Walker Kessler. Furthermore, the Dubs are limited upfront with Porzingis out, putting a ton of pressure on Draymond Green to slow the Lakers duo.
Although the Warriors beat the Lakers in preseason, the latter group seemed uninvested in the match, and Doncic sat for rest, so it wasn’t a true representation of what they’ll face in this matchup.
