(24-50) Chicago Bulls vs. Orlando Magic (22-52)
Friday, March 30 finds the Chicago Bulls arriving at Wells Fargo Center to face their host the Orlando Magic. The Bulls play Thursday night, so will be on the second night of a back to back set. In their previous game Chicago got routed by the Rockets 118-86.
In their last game the Magic lost to the Brooklyn Nets 111-104.
Last season, the Bulls won three of four and are up 3-0 this season. The Bulls hold the all-time record having bested the Magic in 57 of their 105 matches.
Rookie Lauri Markkanen (22) was the only starter to score in double digits versus the Rockets. Four reserve players joined him with Denzel Valentine and Sean Kilpatrick each scoring 12 while Bobby Portis (11) and Noah Vonleh (10) pitched in.
Not surprisingly, the Bulls like many tanking teams enter game action with numerous players on the injured reserve list. Up to seven players could be out of action Friday night.
Denzel Valentine (knee) and rookie Lauri Markkanen (arm) are the two players listed as expected to play.
Five other Magic players are predicted as out including Cristiano Felicio (lower back) and Paul Zipser (foot). Antonio Blakeney (wrist), Zach LaVine (knee) and Kris Dunn (toe) are expected to be out for the remainder of the season.
When Mario Hezonja was selected fifth in the draft there were expectations of the Croatian becoming a major contributor for the Magic. Unfortunately he failed to impress then coach Scott Skiles and seemed similarly afflicted by Frank Vogel.
However, whether it is upper management asking for Hezonja to get more run or Vogel finally trusting him the small forward is finally getting an opportunity to showcase his talent. He’s stepped up averaging 13 points and 5.2 rebounds in his past five games.
In the most recent game versus Brooklyn he scored 23 adding 7 rebounds. Four others joined him scoring in double digits, Nikola Vucevic (24), Aaron Gordon (15), D.J. Augustin (14) and Shelvin Mack (13).
Like most tanking teams the Magic have a plethora of injured players who are unlikely to play in this match Friday. Those five players are Wes Iwundu (illness), Jonathan Isaac (foot), Jonathon Simmons (wrist), Evan Fournier (knee) and Terrence Ross (knee).

Free Chicago Bulls vs. Orlando Magic NBA Prediction:
Tough to make a call given both squads want to lose this game. Although the Bulls are on a back to back, the Magic are closer to the bottom of the league, so it stands to reason they’ll want to maintain that edge.
