The Brooklyn Nets are on a nice little run. They’ve rattled off wins in four straight games and have been victorious in 6 of 9. The Nets have climbed into 5th in the Eastern Conference and now sit just 1.5 GB for the potential to host a first round playoff series.

The aren’t without their controversy lately as Russell Westbrook made headlines for a verbal altercation with a fan in Salt Lake City. Will the extracurricular stuff alter OKC’s play? The Thunder are just 3-6 over their last 9.

Brooklyn Nets

Road games have been few and far between for Brooklyn as they have played 7 home games in their last 10. That being said, the Nets have covered in 7 of 10 road games and post an OK 15-17 record going away this season.

The Nets are a middle-of-the-pack squad that is sometimes hard to figure out. They’ve shown the ability to play clamp down defense recently, giving up 75 points in a game Monday vs. Detroit and 88 over a week ago in Dallas.

Brooklyn has allowed more than 120 points in a game just twice over the last 10 games. The Nets have also scored over 120 once in the last 10 which is why 7 of 10 Nets games have gone ‘under.’ It’s a hard O/U to call for Wednesday.

Oklahoma City has struggled defensively in the back court which does bode well for Brooklyn’s chances. D’angelo Russell is in line for a big night up against Russell Westbrook. Spencer Dinwiddie has gone for 23+ in 2 of the last 3 off the bench.

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC seems to be in a bit of a rut. Of course their ‘ruts’ are much better than other teams as evidenced by a 98-99 win over Utah on Monday and an OT win in Portland last Thursday.

Even so, the Thunder have lost 6 of 9 to teams that include the Clippers, T’Wolves, Spurs, and Kings. The potent Thunder offense has been held to under 105 points in 4 of the last 7.

To be fair, Paul George has missed some time recently. The MVP candidate is back from some shoulder woes but has struggled to find his groove as evidenced by just 14 and 15 points the last two.

OKC’s bread is still going to be buttered by Russell Westbrook. Does he come out blazing after the altercation with the Jazz fan or does all the extra conversing and reporting about the incident where the OKC PG down?

Can somebody on the Thunder step up in Westbrook’s or George’s statistical absence? Steven Adams has a veteran edge over the Nets’ Jarrett Allen down low and the Nets could also be without Demarre Carroll who is nursing a knee injury.
