Both squads enter the season with designs on winning the conference and making a title run. Detroit and Boston finished last year in the top two positions in the East, respectively, and each has made some major tweaks to their rosters.
The biggest question for the Celtics is how they’ll fare without the services of Jaylen Brown who was traded to the Sixers in the offseason.
Big changes hit each of these teams’ rosters as the Celtics finally chose to separate the two J’s, sending Brown to Philly. Meanwhile, the Pistons lost arguably their heart and soul, sending Isaiah Stewart to Phoenix, while their trusted vet Tobias Harris signed with San Antonio.
