Knights vs. Jayhawks Gameday
The UCF Knights head to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Kickoff is set for 3:45 PM ET on ESPN2 at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
UCF enters at 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play under Scott Frost.
The Knights have lost all three road games this season. Their latest defeat came against Baylor, ending the momentum from an impressive upset of BYU.
UCF can beat a ranked opponent in Orlando, but apparently winning away from home requires different instructions.
Kansas stands at 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play under Lance Leipold. The Jayhawks have won three of four at home.
Kansas returns to Lawrence after losing at TCU.
The Jayhawks have struggled against Big 12 competition, although their offense has shown flashes of potential. A strong finish could still keep their bowl hopes alive.
Kansas has won both previous meetings with UCF.
The Jayhawks won the first matchup in Lawrence before taking last season’s rematch in Orlando. UCF would certainly enjoy changing that pattern.
Both teams need a victory to improve their postseason position.

The defense has performed considerably better against the pass than the run.
Opponents average approximately 178 passing yards per game. Kansas has allowed nine passing TD through eight contests.
The Jayhawks have also struggled to finish some promising offensive drives. Those missed opportunities have contributed to their disappointing conference record.

Defensive tackle Jeffson Lafontant has recorded six tackles for loss and two sacks. His ability to generate pressure gives the Knights another disruptive presence.

Isaiah Marshall leads Kansas with 1,506 passing yards and 11 TD through seven appearances. He’s completed 105 of 196 attempts with seven interceptions.
Marshall has also contributed 403 rushing yards and two TD. His mobility gives Kansas another offensive weapon when passing plays break down.
The sophomore missed Kansas’ latest game against TCU because of an injury. His availability for Saturday remains uncertain.

Barnett’s mobility gives UCF additional options outside the pocket. His recent absence, however, leaves some uncertainty about how effectively the offense will operate.
Kansas faces its own decision if Marshall remains unavailable. Ballard has shown he can move the football, but replacing Marshall’s rushing ability is another challenge.
UCF Knights vs. Kansas Jayhawks bottom line: Both teams face uncertainty at quarterback, making execution and ball security particularly important in this Big 12 matchup.

Knights Jayhawks Free Pick: Kansas -2.5
Here is my Knights Jayhawks free pick: I’m laying Kansas -2.5. This isn’t a bet on Kansas suddenly becoming a Big 12 powerhouse. It’s a bet on the Jayhawks being the more dependable team when the game is sitting on a field-goal margin.
Kansas has won its last four games outright when favored. That’s a useful situational angle, although I’m not pretending those four results will block a defensive lineman on Saturday.
At this price, Kansas doesn’t need to dominate UCF. It needs to finish one possession better.
What I like is the room for an imperfect performance. Kansas can miss an opportunity, surrender a big play and still cover without needing a double-digit victory.
UCF is capable of keeping this uncomfortable, especially if Kansas gives away possessions. That’s the risk with a short favorite, and I’m not ignoring it.
But I trust the Jayhawks to make the better decisions when the fourth quarter tightens up. If Kansas executes in the red zone and avoids gifting UCF an extra possession, this number is manageable. I’m on Kansas -2.5.
