Very interesting matchup for both teams here. In terms of talent both have enough to be disruptors within their own conference but have fallen a little flat in the past.

As a result both coaches are on the hotseats as the season approached. Whichever wins will be able to take a short breath.
They met a year ago with the Aggies winning in overtime at home after a furious UCLA comeback.
Texas A&M Aggies
Other than generate headlines the Aggies have not done a ton since Kevin Sumlin arrived on campus. I guess Johnny Heisman counts for something but there are no new banners hanging in College Station.

Now that Texas is on an uptick there is going to be even more pressure to perform and a win out of the games against a PAC 12 team would be very helpful.
They might have lost some big names from last year’s defense but this group should be able to compete on both sides of the ball.
I think being an underdog suits Sumlin too. I am willing to bet he will have his troops foaming at the mouth. Last year they ran for more than 200 yards against UCLA.
Look for a similar approach this year they have a great back and enough hogs up front to mash their way into the season.
UCLA Bruins
When Josh Rosen came to campus it was thought that three years later he would be the top pick in the NFL Draft.
His path, and that of the team has not been nearly as smooth and UCLA has maybe one last chance to take advantage of his presence this season.
The overall talent around Rosen is more than good enough to compete and many have the Bruins in a big group of second tier teams in the PAC 12 South behind rival USC.
The way they bust out of it is by winning a statement game like this one at home.

Last year Rosen threw three picks in this matchup. The simple math is to say that if he cleans that up this season he leads his team to victory.
Their defense has to be better too though. They got pushed around a lot all of last season.

Both of these teams are notorious for breaking our betting hearts. They occasionally upset but more often than not they seem to come up short and leave us grasping in the process.
Essentially the line is saying that they are even and that the only difference is the location of the game.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Aggies +3
This is one of the trickiest games to call of the big opening week matchups and there could be a huge swing on this number with the rare Sunday time slot having people chase losses from the first real Saturday card.
As long as the Aggies are at least a field goal or more dog I am going to back that side. They should be able to run the ball and play enough defense to stymie UCLA.
