Here’s why I’m backing an UNDER bet below in my Owls Midshipmen free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Owls vs. Midshipmen Gameday
The Temple Owls visit the Navy Midshipmen at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Kickoff is 3:30 PM ET on CBS Sports Network.
Both teams enter at 2-6, with Temple sitting 1-3 in the American Conference and Navy at 1-4. Neither program has enjoyed much success lately.
Two struggling teams, one conference win up for grabs, and absolutely no room for another excuse.
Temple has lost three consecutive games under K.C. Keeler.
The Owls are coming off a disappointing performance at East Carolina. Their offense couldn’t capitalize on enough opportunities to pull out a road victory.
Navy has also dropped three straight under Brian Newberry.
The Midshipmen suffered another defeat against Notre Dame. They’ve shown enough offensive ability to compete, but their defense has repeatedly let games get away.
Navy leads the all-time series 11-9 and has won the last two meetings.
The Midshipmen escaped Philadelphia with a dramatic one-point victory last season. That finish should give Temple plenty of motivation for the return trip.
Both teams are trying to avoid another miserable November.
It’s Week 10, Temple Owls vs. Navy Midshipmen, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Jaxon Smolik provides Temple with quarterback depth. He’s completed 16 of 27 attempts for 129 yards, one TD and one interception.
Gutierrez creates the more difficult rushing assignment, while Sheppard offers greater passing production. Neither defense can afford to ignore the quarterback running game.

- Also, the Midshipmen have a 16-3 straight-up record as favorites in their last 19 games.

Owls Midshipmen Free Pick: Under 54.5
Here is my Owls Midshipmen free pick: I’m betting Under 54.5. Navy is favored by 7.5, but the total is where I see the better opportunity. The sportsbooks are asking these offenses to produce 55 points, and that’s a generous amount of faith.
Temple has covered 14 of its last 20 following a loss, but I’m not interested in taking the points. I want the Owls to stay competitive without forcing Navy into an all-out scoring contest.
Give me a game where every possession matters, not one where both teams suddenly discover an offense nobody has seen.
The key is how Navy handles an early lead. If the Midshipmen get ahead and stay patient, Temple could spend most of the afternoon chasing the clock rather than the scoreboard.
A couple of short-field touchdowns would make this uncomfortable. That’s the risk with any Under, particularly when neither team has been especially dependable.
I’m not buying a sudden offensive revival from either sideline. Navy can dictate the afternoon, Temple can hang around, and the scoreboard doesn’t need to get ridiculous. Give me Under 54.5.
