This is a big early season matchup for both teams as they look to secure another big non conference victory before conference play starts.
The Ducks come in with a big win against Virginia last week, and Nebraska beat up on Wyoming.
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks offense was rolling last week, picking up 44 points against a tough ACC opponent. It’s nice to see that the offensive philosophy is still at the break neck speed it had during the Chip Kelly era.

QB Dakota Prukop threw for over 300 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions.
He should be able to continue his strong play on the road. Expect a couple of option runs between him and Royce Freeman to keep the defense on its heels.
Speaking of Royce Freeman, he has played like a man among boys and should be a legitimate Heisman candidate. Last week against the Cavaliers he had 21 carries for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns!
He averaged 9.9 yards per carry! I expect him to dominate against the Cornhuskers defensive line and put up another 200 yards and 2 touchdowns this week.
Devon Allen is a threat to take any catch to the house.
He had a 77 yard TD grab and also finished the day with 4 catches for 141 yards. He will use his speed to beat the safeties deep and have another great game, finding the endzone twice.

The Ducks defense will need to stop the run this week, as they had a hard time against Virginia, giving up 2 scores on the ground and a 6.1 yards per carry average.
If they expect to score quickly the defensive unit needs to stop Nebraska’s ground game.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
Tommy Armstrong Jr. destroyed the Wyoming defense last week, throwing for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns with a pick. If the Cornhuskers are going to stay in the game with Oregon, he will need to have another excellent game.
A conservative, ball control approach won’t work against the Ducks, you need to score early and often. I expect Nebraska to go toe to toe on offense for a few quarters.
The running game had its moments but wasn’t fully utilized by the coaching staff last week.
The same approach they used last week must be implemented this week, as many teams blink and are down by 2 touchdowns against the ducks.

Devine Ozigbo must be a threat running and receiving and I’m not sure he is up to the task.
The Cornhuskers forced 5 interceptions from Josh Allen last week, while I don’t expect the same results against Prukop, I do believe the pass rush can force him into incompletions and maybe one interception.
