Two straight losses to top 10 teams have brought the Wolfpack back to earth a little bit but another underrated tough road game awaits them at Boston College.

Boston College has been quite the surprise this season and is coming off 3 straight wins over ACC opponents – including a beatdown of Florida State in their last game.
NC State Wolfpack
The chance was theirs for the taking as NC State entered the top 15 with games against Notre Dame and Clemson sitting in front of them. Wins in both of those games would have been program changing but the Wolfpack failed to convert either.

The Wolfpack were at least competitive last week against Clemson in a game that likely decided the ACC Atlantic winner. They were beaten badly though the week before in a game that Notre Dame exploited all of their weaknesses.
At the beginning of the season, this game against Boston College probably looked like a lull in the schedule as Boston College hasn’t been great in recent years. But the Eagles are playing very good football and have their eyes on another conference upset.
The Wolfpack will look to get back to what has worked for them this season and that is a balanced offensive attack combined with a disruptive defense.
They have 2 total sacks in their last 2 games after entering the Notre Dame game with 18 on the season.
They will also need Nyheim Hines to return to form against a Boston College defense that has struggled to stop the run. Hines has rushed for a team high 688 yards on the season but has managed just 40 in the last two games after getting banged up against Notre Dame.
Also, quarterback Ryan Finley will look to return to his efficient form after throwing 3 interceptions in the last 2 games – his first 3 of the season. This game will show whether the last two losses have deflated the Wolfpack or if they are ready to get back to form and finish what very well can be a strong season.
Boston College Eagles
Boston College has been winning with offense(!?) Yes I know it is hard to believe.
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
They are averaging 40.3 points per game in their last three games – wins over Florida State, Virginia, and Louisville.
Tailback AJ Dillon has really become the workhorse for the Eagle over the last few weeks. He has run the ball 96 times in the last 3 games at a nice clip of 5.1 yards per attempt.
He has taken the pressure off the defense and off of freshman quarterback Anthony Brown. In the Eagles 35-3 win over Florida State, Brown completed just 6 of 20 passes for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Dillon will need the same type of production this week as Boston College will look to control the clock against a balanced and solid NC State offense.
It won’t be easy though as the Wolfpack have the 40th ranked rush defense in terms of yards per attempt. They have a front seven that has NFL talent sprinkled in it and they have only allowed 2 100-yard rushers on the season – one in each of the last 2 weeks.
Again, the Eagles won’t expect Brown to be the primary playmaker but he likely will have to make some plays on third down against a decent NC State defense.

Free Week 11 NCAA Football Pick
While Boston College has been exploding on offense lately, they have been doing it through a reliance on the run game. That will be much more difficult this week against NC State. A banged up Hines for the Wolfpack will also take them off of their rhythm on offense.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Under 52
Boston College may find a way to pull off the upset at home but it should be an ugly game. It is supposed to the coldest day of the fall so far in Massachusetts so I would expect a lot of runs and a lot of punts.
