Week 7 NCAA football action brings you an exciting MAC matchup between Miami of Ohio and Western Michigan.
The RedHawks see themselves sitting in the second spot in the MAC East division after a 34-20 win over Buffalo last time out, while the Broncos are 4th in the MAC West, coming in off a 24-31 loss at Toledo last week.
Western Michigan has won 9 out of their last 10 games against the RedHawks, including 7 straight coming into Saturday’s game.
Miami (Ohio) RedHawks
With a full week off to savor their win over Buffalo, the RedHawks will look to build off of that offensive explosion, and tame these Broncos on their home field.

That might be easier said than done, as Miami is currently only averaging 22.8 points per game, though have only eclipsed that point total twice on the year.
If you take those two games out of the equation, this RedHawk offense is only averaging 10.7 points per game. That might be a little closer to the truth.
Defensively, this team is no good. They are giving up an average of 37.2 points per game. But, in their two wins on the year, they held their opponents to just 18.5 points.
Their three losses came to Iowa, Ohio State and Cincinnati, so these numbers are going to be a bit skewed until they get a few more MAC games under their belt.
Against Buffalo, Miami really didn’t do too much on the offensive side of the ball, only 265 yards, which was good enough for three touchdowns, but they really won the game with their defense.
Though they gave up 400 yards of offense, mostly on the ground, they were able to take away two possessions via the interception, including taking one back to the house for a defensive TD.
The key for Miami to win this game is stopping the run. Defensive takeaway’s are always a plus, but if they give up another 300 yard game to the Broncos RB’s on Saturday, they will drop their 4th game of the year.
Western Michigan Broncos
Coming in off a loss in their last game will be all the fodder the Broncos need to get back into the win column. Couple that with the fact that they have owned the RedHawks over the past decade, and you have the makings of a blowout on their home field.
I wouldn’t call the Broncos offense a juggernaut by any means, but compared to their competition in this game, they most definitely are. Coming into Saturday, they are scoring an average of 35 points per game, which is just about what Miami is giving up per game on defense.

Last week was a step in the right direction for Western Michigan, as that was the first time they had given up less than 50 points in defeat all year.
In fact, it was a lot closer to their season average of 28.7 points per game against than any other game they have played.
The Broncos offense was on point in their loss to Toledo, and if they duplicate those number on Saturday, they will have no problem walking away with their 8th straight win against Miami (Ohio).
With Senior QB Jon Wassink tossing for 303 yards and two TDs and Senior RB Levante Bellamy adding 70 yards and a TD on the ground, this team looks to be too much for the RedHawks to handle.
The key to Western Michigan to win this game is to pound the ball on the ground all game long.
The passing yards will always be there against the Miami defense, but to put together time wasting sustaining drives on the ground will really separate the Broncos from the RedHawks early on.

Free Week 7 NCAA Football Pick
The Broncos have owned the RedHawks for the past 10 years, and I don’t see that changing here on Saturday.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Western Michigan -13.5
This spread seems a bit high for a conference game, but really, the Broncos are that much better of a team. Take Western Michigan to win this game at home, and to cover the spread. I don’t think 55.5 points is too far out of reach either.
