After being knocked from the number one spot, this game will be very telling for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Their college football playoff hopes are not lost but a strong response in this game against Kentucky is very important.
Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky has enjoyed a solid 7-3 season thus far but they are just 3-7 ATS.

The Wildcats have been riding their run game this season and it has allowed for them to control the tempo a bit to protect their defense.
Despite their 7-3 record, the Wildcats are being outgained by an average of 43 yards per game. Their point differential is just 2.2 points per game. They are allowing 5.7 yards per play while only gaining 5.4 per play.
Running back Benny Snell Jr has allowed for them to make up for some of these statistical deficiencies. Snell, Jr is 14th in the nation in rushing attempts and tied for 4th in rushing touchdowns.
He has been their workhorse but this matchup with Georgia does not look good for him. Georgia is allowing the 5th fewest yards per rush in the FBS at just 3.4.
In last season’s matchup, Snell, Jr managed 114 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 27-24 loss. But this is a much different Georgia rush defense. Their defense last season ranked 39th in the nation in yards allowed per carry.
Snell, Jr is the Wildcats only hope. This is an angry and motivated Georgia team and the Wildcats have been overachieving all season long and this could be where it all catches up to them.
Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs did have some leeway as they sat in the number one spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.

However, getting beaten badly by Auburn certainly will linger as an eyesore when the committee evaluates the team’s season. But with the SEC title game waiting against either Alabama or a rematch with Auburn, Georgia’s playoff hopes are not dead.
They have to respond quickly though and do everything they can to try to get the committee to forget about them getting blown out.
The way Georgia has played at home this season is a convincing trend that they will fall back into form. Georgia is 5-0 at home and has won those five games by an average of 23.2 points.
The Bulldogs are a very well balanced offensive team but they will need freshman quarterback Jake Fromm to quickly forget his struggles against Auburn.
Entering last week’s game, Fromm had been completing 63 percent of his passes at 9.73 yards per attempt. Last week, he completed just 46% of his passes at 6.6 yards per attempt.
Kentucky has nowhere near as disruptive as a defense as Auburn does so I would expect Georgia to fix their offensive mistakes from last week.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
- Georgia is 10-5 ATS in their last 15 games following a SU loss.
- The over is 4-1 in Kentucky’s last 5 games.
- Kentucky is 4-1 SU in their last 5 games on the road.
Free Week 12 NCAA Football Pick
The Wildcats don’t have what it takes to pull off the major road upset and I am not sure they will even cover. But they are going to put some points on the board even if its late. Georgia will undoubtedly rebound offensively.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Over 50.5
The pace of this game could slow the points a little bit as both teams will focus on running the football. But I think they will each break some big plays and the 50.5 total will get surpassed with Georgia doing most of the legwork.
