So Oklahoma lost to Texas and Iowa State beat Texas so this means Iowa State should beat Oklahoma right? Wrong. So wrong.
Since losing to Texas, Oklahoma has been on a mission – winning their last three games by a combined 146 points.

While Iowa State has played some good football this year, their wins aren’t very impressive – beating Northern Iowa and Kansas along with Texas who is one of the most inconsistent teams in the country.
Iowa State
While Texas’s offense is nothing too impressive, posting a shutout no matter whom the opponent is impressive.
Joel Lanning was impressive in his first career start and freshman Mike Warren was even more impressive on the ground.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Lanning and Warren will need to be on the top of their game against the Sooners defense. The defense has surrendered just 34 points in the last three games.
In last year’s home game against the Sooners, the Cyclones got trounced 59-14.
They will hope to fare better on the road this year but the Sooners are looking like a team that could give some of the Big 12 unbeatens a run for the title.
The talent of Lanning and Warren could be overruled by their inexperience along with the talent of the Sooner defense. If their inexperience starts to show, this one could get ugly.
Oklahoma
At the end of this season, the Sooners could look back on the loss to Texas as the best thing that could have happened to them.
There’s talk – and it is reasonable talk – that the Sooners could come out of the Big 12.
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
In a conference with three current unbeaten teams, the Sooners are on the outside looking in. But, they control their own destiny. Following this bout with the Cyclones, the Sooners will face Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma State in the next three games.
Since their loss to the Longhorns, both the Oklahoma offense and defense are firing on all cylinders. This game against Iowa State will be an opportunity to tune things up once more before their final stretch.
Baker Mayfield is playing as good as anyone in the country at the quarterback position, completing almost 70 percent of passes with a 25 to 4 touchdown to interception ratio.
He’ll have a chance to prove what he is capable the next three weeks in a handful of big time games. This game against Iowa State should even further pad his impressive stats.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
• The Sooners are 6-2 ATS this season.
• The Sooners are 4-1 ATS in Big 12 games this season.
• The Cyclones are 5-7-2 ATS as the underdog since the start of 2014 season.
Free Week 10 NCAA Football Prediction
Mayfield and the defense will do plenty in this one as they tune up for the final stretch towards a historic season. If the Sooners want to make a run to the playoff, it is do-or-die from here on out. They’ll take care of the Cyclones.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Oklahoma -25.0
Lanning and Warren are good but inexperienced and it will show as the Sooners swarm them. Oklahoma rolls in this one.
