This intriguing matchup features a Maryland team trying to make a name for themselves in the Big Ten and a Bowling Green team that brings back 11 offensive starters from 2014, but just 3 defensive starters.
Their lack of experience was clear in Week 1 as the Falcons gave up 400 rushing yards in a loss to Tennessee.

Maryland struggled out of the gate with quarterback Perry Hills trying to find a rhythm. He never fully gained it but their run game and special teams were plenty as they blew out Richmond 50-21.
Bowling Green
Is one week enough time to fix the disaster of a run defense that the Falcons put on the field last week?
They better hope so. They’ll be up against a Maryland team that ran for 341 yards last week.
A bright spot for the Falcons was Matt Johnson who threw for 424 yards against a SEC defense last week. It did take him 49 attempts – only 27 of which he completed.
Johnson will have to be all that and more against the Terps. The Falcons’ run game never really got going last week.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Expect Johnson to throw the ball 40-plus times again this week as the Falcons hope to take down the Terps in a shootout.
Maryland
The big storyline to take away from Maryland’s Week 1 victory over Richmond was cornerback Will Likely’s 233 punt return yards. Likely averaged 29 yards per return on eight returns – including one back for a touchdown.
A quieter, yet important storyline was Brandon Ross’s 150 rushing yards. Ross helped take the burden off Hills as he eased his way back into his first meaningful snaps since 2012.
Ross will have a great opportunity to build off his Week 1 performance against a Bowling Green defense that gave up 400 rushing yards in their opening game.
Hills will get another game at home to get his feels back. Expect more consistency out of him this week with some of the jitters gone now.

Maryland also has one of the best kickers in the nation in Brad Craddock. The potential Lou Groza finalist could make a significant impact in this game with his leg if Hills can’t find a way to convert third downs in plus territory

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
Maryland will have their way with the Falcons running the football.
The Terps will win this game and believe it or not, special teams could be the difference in this game.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Maryland -7.5
If the Bowling Green defense shows up the same way they did against Tennessee last week, Brandon Ross may work his way into the Heisman conversation because of this game.
