2019 AAC Season Football Preview
Looking for 2019 AAC Conference predictions? The AAC has been largely a two-horse race over the last handful of years with Memphis and UCF looking the part of championship thoroughbreds. This season, there’s plenty of competition to go around, but once again, these two will dominate the headlines most of 2019.

AAC Conference 2019 Odds: Central Florida +135
The UCF Knights enter the year as the odds-on favorites to win the conference, which isn’t in the least bit surprising. Until this team is officially knocked off, it has earned the right to be labeled the No. 1 team in the AAC.
A quick scan of conference depth charts reveals—mostly subjectively, of course—that Central Florida has both the best running back and wide receiver corps, as well as offensive line.
On defense, the Knights have a lot of work to do on the line, but they make up for it with what’s likely the best defensive back group in the AAC.

In the East, UCF is a pretty easy choice to win the division. USF or Cincinnati should come within a game or two in conference competition, but this division and conference are both the Knights’ to lose.
AAC Conference 2019 Odds: Memphis +320
Where division battles really kick in is when you look at the No. 2 and 3 teams (projected) in the conference.
Starting with Memphis, this is the favorite to take the West crown and face off with UCF in the conference title game. But this group will have to get past Houston to make that happen.

Entering the year, the Tigers know they will miss the big-play wonders of Darrell Henderson, but senior tailback Patrick Taylor should ensure this group still runs the football at a top-notch rate. The even better news is that Brady White is back and ready for a career year.
Memphis also returns eight starters on defense, giving it both the talent and depth needed to compete at the highest level.
AAC Conference 2019 Odds: Houston +600
All that said, Houston really is going to make a run at the West. Tulane may be the better choice as high value (+3300) goes with a realistic shot, but the chasm between Houston’s +600 and Memphis’ +320 isn’t representative of how close Houston can come by the end of the year.
Behind UCF, Houston should have the best wide receiving group in the conference. It doesn’t hurt, either, that D’Eriq King should take conference Offensive Player of the Year honors at the quarterback position once 2019 comes to a close.
Last season, King was 25th in the nation in passing yards compiling 2,982 in total. That resulted in 36 scores through the air (tied for 5th in the country) and even more impressively, just six interceptions (tied for 34th).
King enters 2019 in the No. 20 spot as far as Vegas odds for the Heisman are concerned, as he currently sits at +6500, a number that could look embarrassingly off (in favor of King bettors) is Houston can rally and put together an unexpected contender-type season on a national scale.
AAC Conference 2019 Odds: Cincinnati +650
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Cincinnati is right there with Houston as the best of the rest after Central Florida and Memphis. That’s largely because of the sudden surge this group experienced last season.
In 2018, this team went 11-2 after winning just eight games total the two years prior. This group hadn’t won 11 games since 2008, hadn’t won double-digit times since 2012, and hadn’t improved its win total at all from one season to the next since 2011.
The question with any team that goes from four wins in back-to-back seasons to 11 is whether or not you can expect another leap.
Often times coming back down to reality—as long as it doesn’t include a big fall-off—is just fine n these situations.
If Cincy remains a double-digit wins team, being a year away from truly contending shouldn’t be viewed as a step in the wrong direction.

AAC Conference: 2019 Prediction
Houston—and even Cincinnati—will challenge Memphis for the top spot out West. If the Tigers aren’t able to make the conference championship, give UCF an easy AAC title.
The catch, though, is that Memphis should win the West and should enter the championship as underdogs.
But if this happens, we’re taking the Tigers to end the Knights’ reign.
Memphis at +320 has the most appeal entering the new season.
