07-17-17 | Indians v. Giants OVER 8.5 | 5-3 | Loss | -115 | 26 h 40 m | Show
Cleveland has a strong offense, sixth in baseball in on-base percentage. When Tomlin is on the hill, the tribe are 7-2-1 in his last 10 Interleague starts. San Francisco is home but has a weak offense, bottom 10 in runs scored and on-base percentage, on a 4-14 run here. Despite their weak offense, the Giants 5-2 in their last 7 IL home games. Matt Moore has not been good this season for the Giants. Moore has a 3-9 record with a lofty 6.09 ERA and 1.69 WHIP. In addition, Moore has allowed 11 runs in his last 13.1 innings. Walks have also been an issue, as the 28-year-old southpaw has given up nine free passes during those 13.1 innings. This game has all the markings of an over for me. Play OVER |

07-17-17 | Rangers +106 v. Orioles | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 27 m | Show
Texas is on a 5-2 run and the Rangers are 5-1 away against a team with a winning home record. Rangers righty Andrew Cashner (3.54 ERA) has been good and faces a struggling Baltimore team. The Orioles lost their series opener against the Chicago Cubs on a ninth-inning homer Friday night and then dropped the next two meetings by a combined score of 18-3. Â The Orioles are 16-37 in their last 53 games on grass. Orioles righty Chris Tillman (1-5, 7.90) is winless with an ERA of 8.80 over his last 10 starts. Â Baltimore is 6-20 against the American League West, 3-8 against Texas. Play the Texas Rangers. Â |
|||||||
07-17-17 | Brewers +108 v. Pirates | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 26 m | Show
Milwaukee has an impressive road record and offense. The Brewers own a 4 1/2-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central, and they can credit the NL's third-best road record at 24-18. Â Milwaukee has homered in nine straight contests and 27 of its last 29. The Brewers have Brent Suter (1-1, 2.96 ERA) going, and the team is on an 8-2 run. The Brewers are 8-0 in their last 8 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Pittsburgh is .500 at home and stuck with pitcher Chad Kuhl (3-6, 4.96). The Pirates are 2-11 in Kuhl's last 13 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Â Play Milwaukee. Â |
|||||||
07-16-17 | New York Yankees - Game #2 v. Boston Red Sox - Game #2 OVER 8.5 | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
New York is on the road playing the second game of a doubleheader tonight after playing 16 innings last night. Yankees right Masahiro Tanaka (7-8, 5.47 ERA) has been erratic all year. The Yankees have gone OVER in nine of the last 12 road starts for Tanaka. New York has a losing road record and the Yankees are 4-11 in their last 15 road games. Boston is on an 11-4 run at home. Red Sox lefty David Price (4-2, 3.91 ERA) has been very consistent since coming off the disabled list in May. Boston has been a good over play in game two of any doubleheader, evidenced by their 8-2 O/U mark in the last 10 nightcaps of a double dipper. Two tired bullpens and a shaky starter on the hill for the Yankees has this game primed to go OVER in Prime Time TV. |

07-16-17 | Giants v. Padres +107 | 1-7 | Win | 107 | 6 h 53 m | Show
07/16 04:40 PM EST  MLB  (963) SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS VS (964) SAN DIEGO PADRES. Take: (964) SAN DIEGO PADRES Reason: San Francisco is 18-33 on the road. The The Giants have dropped six of their last eight contests and were dealt another blow Saturday, when Johnny Cueto was placed on the 10-day disabled list. San Diego won last night, 5-3, and Padres starter Trevor Cahill (3-3, 3.38 ERA) has been very good. The Giants have dropped 13 of their last 18 games against San Diego, including eight of the last 12 at Petco Park. Play San Diego.  Submit |

07-16-17 | Diamondbacks -108 v. Braves | 1-7 | Loss | -108 | 3 h 59 m | Show
07/16 1:35 PM EST   MLB  (957) ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS VS (958) ATLANTA BRAVES. Take: (957) ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS Reason: MLB Inner Circle: Play Arizona. Arizona has a strong offense and looks to break a skid behind Diamondbacks righty Zack Godley (3-3, 2.58 ERA). He has not surrendered more than three runs in any start this season. The Diamondbacks are 20-8 in their last 28 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game. The Atlanta Braves are stuck with lefty Jaime Garcia (2-7, 4.55 ERA). The Braves likely will try to deal Garcia before the July 31 trade deadline, but he closed the first half with a thud, posting a 9.41 ERA and a .333 opponents batting average across his final four starts. Play Arizona.  Submit |
|||||||
07-16-17 | Rockies v. Mets -133 | 13-4 | Loss | -133 | 3 h 34 m | Show
7/16 1:10 PM EST  MLB  (955) COLORADO ROCKIES VS (956) NEW YORK METS. Take: (956) NEW YORK METS Reason: Colorado is a long way from home, stumbling on a 5-5 run. The Rockies are 16-38 in their last 54 road games vs. a left-handed starter. New York will attempt to complete a three-game home sweep, outscoring Colorado 23-5 through two games. Mets lefty Steven Matz (2-2, 3.05 ERA) is throwing well and the team is on 5-1 run at home. The Rockies are 6-14 in the last 20 meetings, 3-13 at New York. Play N.Y. Mets.  Submit |
|||||||
07-16-17 | Blue Jays v. Tigers -116 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 34 m | Show
07/16 1:10 PM  EST  MLB  (965) TORONTO BLUE JAYS VS (966) DETROIT TIGERS. Take: (966) DETROIT TIGERS Reason: Toronto isn't cutting it on the road and Blue Jays 34-year-old righty Marco Estrada (4-6, 5.17 ERA) isn't cutting it anywhere. Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus called a meeting prior to Saturday's matchup and the team responded. Play Detroit.  Submit |
|||||||
07-15-17 | Rays +113 v. Angels | 6-3 | Win | 113 | 9 h 60 m | Show
Reason: MLB Bailout Game of the Month: Play Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay has a Top 10 offense and the Rays are 7-3 in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Rays starter Alex Cobb (7-6, 3.75 ERA) has delivered scoreless two-hit efforts in two of his last three starts and is 3-1 with a 2.38 ERA over his last six outings. The Angels are 1-4 in their last 5 home games and go with J.C. Ramirez (4.46 ERA). And the Rays are 22-8 in the last 30 meetings in Los Angeles. Play Tampa Bay. |
|||||||
07-15-17 | Giants v. Padres +127 | 3-5 | Win | 127 | 9 h 35 m | Show
San Francisco is a bad offensive team and a bad road team. It's the first game back for Madison Bumgarner and the Giants are 11-24 in their last 35 road games vs. a right-handed starter. Padres righty Jhoulys Chacin (8-7, 4.32 ERA) is throwing well, allowing fewer than three earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts. He has a 1.68 ERA in nine starts at Petco Park this season and owns a 7-6 record and 3.33 ERA in 17 career games versus San Francisco. And the Giants are 5-12 in the last 17 meetings. Play San Diego. |
|||||||
07-15-17 | Phillies v. Brewers -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 21 m | Show
Philadelphia has a bad offense and is 13-34 on the road. The Milwaukee Brewers own a 5 1/2-game division lead over the Chicago Cubs rolled to a 9-6 victory yesterday. Brewers righty Jimmy Nelson (8-4, 3.30 ERA) and is 4-0 with a 0.97 ERA and 45 strikeouts in his last five turns at Miller Park. The Brewers have a strong offense and will run away with this one. Play Milwaukee on the Run Line. |
|||||||
07-15-17 | Nationals -1.5 v. Reds | 10-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 6 m | Show
Washington has a Top 5 offense and its ace going. Nationals righty Max Scherzer (10-5, 2.10 ERA) leads the NL with 173 strikeouts and the team is 38-18 in his last 56 starts. The Reds have allowed an NL-most 463 runs -- 31 against the Nationals while going 1-3 against them in 2017. Cincinnati is 24-50 vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. Play Washington on the Run Line. |
|||||||
07-15-17 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Marlins | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 6 m | Show
The Dodgers are 53-18 since Cody Bellinger's promotion on April 25, and the club is 34-9 when he and fellow All-Star 3B Justin Turner are in the lineup together. Lefty Alex Wood (10-0, 1.67 ERA) has been sensational and the Dodgers are 39-16 in their last 55 vs. a team with a losing record. Miami has a losing home record and is 2-8 in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Play the LA Dodgers on the Run Line. |
|||||||
07-14-17 | Indians v. A's UNDER 8 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 25 h 13 m | Show
07/14 10:05 PM  EST  MLB  (975) CLEVELAND INDIANS VS (976) OAKLAND ATHLETICS. Take: UNDER THE TOTAL. Reason: A pair of aces on the mound in Oakland, a huge park, great for pitchers. Cleveland is on a 12-4-3 run under the total, as well as 32-13-6 under on the road. Carlos Carrasco (3.44 ERA) is having a strong campaign and the Indians are 20-7 under the total when Carrasco starts on the road. Carrasco (10-3) allowed two runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out 11 in Friday's 11-2 win over the Tigers. Oakland is #24 in runs scored but they have Sonny Gray on the hill. The Under is 36-14-3 in the last 53 meetings, including 16-5-1 under at Oakland. Play Cleveland/Oakland UNDER the total. |
|||||||
07-14-17 | Diamondbacks v. Braves UNDER 9.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 23 h 42 m | Show
07/14 07:35 PM EST   MLB  (959) ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS VS (960) ATLANTA BRAVES. Take: UNDER THE TOTAL. Reason: Arizona has a great offense but it is much better at home, on a 35-17-1 run under the total on the road. Starter Taijuan Walker (3.65 ERA) faces an Atlanta offense that is #17 in baseball in runs scored. Atlanta is 13-5 under the total at home against a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and this total is too high. Play Arizona/Atlanta UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-14-17 | Rockies v. Mets UNDER 8 | 2-14 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 19 m | Show
07/14 07:10 PM EST  MLB  (957) COLORADO ROCKIES VS (958) NEW YORK METS. Take:  MLB Inner Circle: Colorado/NY Mets UNDER the total.   Reason: Colorado's offense clicks best at home but they are a long way from Coors Field for this one. Colorado is on a 20-8-3 run under the total, including 12-3-2 under on the road with improved pitching and defense. Jacob deGrom (9-3, 3.65 ERA) goes for the NY Mets, 6-1-1 under the total when he starts at home. And the Under is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings in New York. Play Colorado/NY Mets UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-14-17 | Dodgers v. Marlins UNDER 8.5 | 6-4 | Loss | -105 | 22 h 18 m | Show
07/14 07:10 PM EST   MLB  (955) LOS ANGELES DODGERS VS (956) MIAMI MARLINS. Take: UNDER THE TOTAL. Reason: The L.A. Dodgers are tops in baseball in pitching ERA and head to Miami, a huge park, great for pitchers. The Dodgers are 9-1-1 under the total against a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. Brandon McCarthy continues to throw well and the team is 6-2 under the total when he starts on the road. Dan Straily (7-4, 3.31 ERA) has been strong all season for Miami. And the Under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Miami. Play the LA Dodgers/Miami UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-14-17 | Cardinals v. Pirates UNDER 8 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 22 h 17 m | Show |
7/14 07:05 PM EST  MLB  (951) ST. LOUIS CARDINALS VS (952) PITTSBURGH PIRATES. Take: NL Central Total of the Month: Play St. Louis/Pittsburgh UNDER the total.   Reason: A pair of weak offenses with strong pitchers to start the second half. St. Louis is #19 in baseball in runs scored, 9-4 under the total when Mike Leake (3.12 ERA) faces the National League Central division. Pittsburgh is #24 in runs scored, on a 19-6-2 run under the total. Gerrit Cole has allowed 2 runs or less in four of his last five starts and the team is 12-4 under when he starts. And the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Play St. Louis/Pittsburgh UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-11-17 | American League v. National League UNDER 9 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 32 h 9 m | Show
Major league baseball finally got wise and disconnected the home field in the World Series from this game. That is likely bad news for the AL that has dominated in recent times. The AL has won the last four All Star games, holding the NL to three runs or less in each of those contests. The NL did enjoy one brief winning stint, taking the mid-summer class in 2012, 2011 and 2010. However, in the 2000's, the AL is 13-3 with one game ending in a 7-7 tie (2002). This year's contest moves to Marlins Park in Miami. You would think the All Star games would be high scoring, like we see in the NBA and NHL. However, you would have to go back to 2005 to find a game total that would eclipse this year's nine total. I like the UNDER in these games with the pitchers usually dominating. Take the UNDER. |

07-09-17 | Reds v. Diamondbacks -145 | 2-1 | Loss | -145 | 5 h 55 m | Show
Cincy starter Homer Bailey (12.66 ERA) is in Arizona to face a dynamite Diamondbacks offense. The Reds are 99-178 vs. a team with a good bullpen whose WHIP is 1.350 or better over the last 3 seasons. Arizona has a strong offense and sttarter Patrick Corbin has allowed 3 runs or less in four of his last five starts. Arizona is 33-16 when playing against a team with a losing record this season. Play Arizona. |
|||||||
07-09-17 | Royals v. Dodgers UNDER 7 | 2-5 | Push | 0 | 5 h 54 m | Show
Reason: Total of the Week: A pair of aces on the mound in Dodger stadium, a huge park, great for pitchers. The Royals lose the DH for this series but have lefty Danny Duffy on the mound, allowing 2 runs or less in five of his last six starts. The LA Dodgers have their ace going and the team is 29-17 UNDER the total when playing against a team with a winning record this season. Play KC/LA UNDER the total. |
|||||||
07-09-17 | White Sox v. Rockies UNDER 12 | 0-10 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show
Chicago has a weak offense and they are 94-62 UNDER the total when the total is 11 or higher. Starter Carlos Rodon has electric stuff. Rodon held the Athletics to two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 10 over 6.1 innings in the victory Monday night. The Athletics were waving at air Monday night, as Rodon induced a ludicrous 26 swinging strikes in 102 pitches. That's the kind of nastiness scouts have envisioned for him ever since he was the ace back at North Carolina State University. Colorado starter Kyle Freeland knows how to throw in Coors Field with a 3.80 ERA. The team is 13-2 under the total when he takes the hill. Play Chicago/Colorado Under the total. |
|||||||
07-09-17 | Orioles v. Twins -118 | 11-5 | Loss | -118 | 3 h 53 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles are fading in the AL East, now 8.5 games back of the Boston Red Sox. The O's did take Saturday's game over the Twins, still, it was only their third win in the last 10 games. The Orioles have the worst run differential in the AL (-84). This is thanks to a horrible pitching staff, ranked 29th in ERA (5.08) and 30th in both WHIP (1.52) and BAA (.281). Ubaldo Jiminez has struggled this year for the birds, posting a 3-4 record with a 6.64 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. While Jiminez does show flashes of brilliance, they are often surrounded with horror. The Twins have dropped to 2.5 games back of the Indians in the AL Central. Kyle Gibson has also struggled this season, posting a 5-6 record and 5.82 ERA. Unlike Jiminez, Gibson has been much better of late, allowing just six earned runs over his last 17 innings. I like the Twins here today to bounce back from yesterday's loss and close out the first half of the season on a winning note. Play Minnesota. |
|||||||
07-08-17 | A's v. Mariners -147 | 4-3 | Loss | -147 | 14 h 33 m | Show
The two bottom clubs in the AL West meet here today with the Mariner's hosting the A's. The Mariners finally snapped a losing streak with their win over Oakland on Friday. Andrew Moore looks to add to that win streak today. Moore is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA and 0.73 WHIP in his two starts this season. Moore started on July 3 and pitched well, going eight innings and allowing just three runs, no walks and four KO's. Despite his good effort, he was tagged with the loss to the Royals, 3-1. Chris Smith starts for the A's. Oakland's pitching staff has been hit hard by injuries and how desperate are they? They turn to a 36-year old Chris Smith making his first ever big league start. Smith was in the bullpen last year, and pitched decent with a 2.92 ERA. He was 4-3 this year at Triple-A Nashville with a 3.16 ERA. Making his first start at this age shows fortitude, but also desperation on the part of the A's. I'm taking the M's here on Saturday. |
|||||||
07-08-17 | Reds v. Diamondbacks -162 | Top | 7-0 | Loss | -162 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
Had the Arizona Diamondbacks been in either of the other two divisions in the NL, they would be in first place with their 53-34 record. However, they trail the red-hot Dodgers by 5.5 games. Good news is that if the playoffs started today they would be the top WildCard team. The D'backs have been great at home, posting a 33-13 record. Taijuan Walker starts today and he's been excellent, posting a 6-3 record and 3.30 ERA. Walker has been very consistent, allowing more than three runs just one time in his last 10 starts. The Reds are done for this year, as they trail the Wildcard race by 12.5 games. Luis Castillo starts today with a 0-1 record and 4.41 ERA with a 1.71 WHIP. Castillo has just three appearances and none have gone past 5.2 innings. Tough spot here today for the rookie pitcher playing at a very good team's home. Play the Diamondbacks. |
|||||||
07-08-17 | Red Sox v. Rays -106 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 24 m | Show
Boston continues its road trip with Rick Porcello (4-10, 5.01 ERA). He is 1-4 on the road and batters overall are hitting .303 off him. The Red Sox are 0-7 in Porcello's last 7 starts vs. the American League East. Tampa Bay is home ranked #10 in baseball in runs scored. Alex Cobb has a 3.13 ERA at home. The Rays are 9-4 in their last 13 home games, plus 8-3 against a righty. Play Tampa Bay. |
|||||||
07-08-17 | Mets v. Cardinals -126 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show
 The Mets and Cardinals both looking to improve on their Wild Card chances before the break. The Mets are 9.5 out and the Cards are 8.5 out. Both clubs have a lot of ground to make up if they hope to be around come the post season. Zach Wheeler starts for the Mets today, with his 3-5 record and 5.01 ERA. Wheeler is coming off an excellent start, where he allowed just two runs in limited exposure to the Phillies. Adam Wainwright toes the rubber for the birds. Wainwright is 9-5 this season, but has a high 5.48 ERA and 1.55 WHIP. Wainwright got 14 runs of support in his last start, which may account for his lackluster six runs allowed over five innings. Still, the veteran has had two good starts in his lat three. I'm sticking with the home club here today. Play St Louis. |
|||||||
07-08-17 | Padres v. Phillies UNDER 8 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Two teams with no post season aspirations meet today as the Phillies host the Padres. Long trip East for San Diego here. The Padres are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball, ranking 30th in runs, batting average and OB%. The pitching is a bit better, averaging right around the middle of the pack. The Padres allowed three runs or less in seven of their last eight games, including three shut outs. Jhoulys Chacin starts today for the friars, posting a 7-7 mark in the season with a 4.52 ERA. Chacin has been very good of late, allowing two runs in four of his last five starts and no runs in the other. The Phillies will counter with Aaron Nola. The 24-year-old is 6-5 with a 3.73 ERA. Nola has also pitched quite well of late, allowing just three runs over his last 21.1 innings. Two week hitting teams and two very good pitchers - I like this one UNDER. |
|||||||
07-07-17 | Mets v. Cardinals UNDER 8 | 6-5 | Loss | -115 | 24 h 22 m | Show
7/07 08:15 PM EST  MLB  (907) NEW YORK METS VS (908) ST. LOUIS CARDINALS. Take: UNDER the total. Reason: The New York Mets are 7-2-2 under the total on the road against losing teams. Jacob deGrom (3.55 ERA, 8-3) is having a strong campaign. St. Louis has a terrific arm of its own going in Carlos Martinez (3.15 ERA), at 4-2 at home with a 2.42 ERA. And the Under is 7-3-2 in Martinez's last 12 home starts. Play UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-07-17 | Mets +110 v. Cardinals | 6-5 | Win | 110 | 8 h 4 m | Show
The New York Mets are a long shot to make a playoff spot right now, trailing Washington by 11 games in the East and seven games behind in the Wild Card race. If there has been one bright spot for the Mets, it would be starter Jacob DeGrom. DeGrom is 8-3 with a 3.55 ERA and 1.22 WHIP this season. Degrom has been red-hot too, allowing just three total runs over his last 32 innings, 31 KO's and just 8 walks. The Cardinals offense should be taylor made for DeGrom. The birds are just 20th in baseball in runs, 17th in batting average and 19th in slugging. Carlos Martinez starts today, with a 6-7 record and 3.15 ERA. Despite a losing record, Martinez is considered the club's Ace. Martinez is coming off a rough outing where he allowed five runs over five innings in a loss to Washington. While neither team is great, a big edge here to the Mets with DeGrom. The fact that we get him at even money or even a slight dog it even better. Take the Mets. |
|||||||
07-07-17 | Orioles v. Twins OVER 10 | 6-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 58 m | Show
 Baltimore goes with Kevin Gausman (5.61 ERA, 5-7) has struggled much of the season, walking 43 in 93 innings. The Over is 10-4-1 when Gausman starts on natural grass. Minnesota has a weak bullpen and 23-year old starter Felix Jorge (5.40 ERA) went only 5 innings in his lone start, a 10-5 win over Kansas City. The Over is 48-22-1 in the Twins last 71 vs. a team with a losing record. Play Baltimore/Minnesota Over the total. |
|||||||
07-07-17 | Tigers v. Indians UNDER 9 | 2-11 | Loss | -100 | 23 h 16 m | Show
07/07 07:10 PM  EST  MLB  (915) DETROIT TIGERS VS (916) CLEVELAND INDIANS. Take: UNDER the total. Reason: Detroit's offense has slipped but at least starter Jordan Zimmermann has turned things around, allowing 3 runs or less in 4 of his last 6 starts. The Under is 5-0 in Zimmermann's last 5 road starts vs. a team with a winning record. Cleveland has a great bullpen and ace Carlos Carrasco (9-3, 3.50 ERA) going. The under is 23-7-2 when the Indians face an American League Central division foe. And the Indians are 8-1 in Carrascos last 9 starts vs. the Tigers. Play UNDER the total.  Submit |
|||||||
07-07-17 | Red Sox v. Rays OVER 9 | 8-3 | Win | 105 | 23 h 15 m | Show
07/07 07:10 PM  EST  MLB  (917) BOSTON RED SOX VS (918) TAMPA BAY RAYS. Take: OVER the total. Reason: Tampa Bay is a small park and a red-hot Boston offense is in town, one of the best at getting on-base. Boston is 10-4 over the total in divisional play. Drew Pomeranz is on the road and has an 8.57 ERA against Tampa Bay this season. Tampa Bay has a fine offense and is 6-0 over the total when Jake Odorizzi starts. Tampa Bay is on a 17-7-1 run over the total, including 11-0 over at home. Play OVER the total.  Submit |

07-07-17 | Red Sox -135 v. Rays | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show
Reason: Inner Circle : Important series here, especially for the TB Rays. The Rays trail the Sox by 4.5 games in the AL East and can close some more gap before the All-Star break. Jake Odorizzi starts today for the Rays with a 5-3 record and 4.08 ERA. The 5-year veteran has given the Rays very consistent starts, though nothing overpowering. He'll face a Red Sox team that is 3rd in team batting average (.269) and 9th in Runs scored (420). The Sox had their six-game win streak snapped a few nights ago and have since dropped two straight. Drew Pomeranz has been very good for Boston, posting a 8-4 record and 3.64 ERA. The 28-year-old has won five of his last six decisions. The Red Sox have won eight of the last 11 meetings with the Rays and five of the last seven in Tampa Bay. Top team in the East with a top pitcher, that's a winner in my book. Play Boston. |
|||||||
07-06-17 | Braves +152 v. Nationals | 5-2 | Win | 152 | 14 h 55 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves have been a pretty good road team of late, evidenced by their 8-3 record the last 11 away contests. Moreover, the club is 5-0 in Foltynewiczs last five starts. The Braves are in second place, 9.5 games back of the Nationals. Washington can pretty much put things into cruise control in the NL East. No team looks ready to step up and contend for the division crown. A small blemish for the Nats is that they are just 0-4 in Gonzalez's last four home starts, not good for chalk bettors. In addition, the Nats are just 4-11 in Gonzalez's last 15 starts vs the Braves. Big dog price here with a road team that has some advantages. Good value with the dog, play Atlanta. |
|||||||
07-06-17 | Pirates -134 v. Phillies | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 35 m | Show
The Pirates look to take three of four in this series with their intrastate rivals, Philadlephia. The Pirates had an excellent June, where they climbed to just five games back in the NL Central. By virtue of playing in the weakest division in baseball, the Bucs still have an outside shot at a playoff spot. The Pirates hope Chad Kuhl can build off his last start. Kuhl is just 2-6 with a 5.26 ERA. However, the 24-year-old righthander is coming off an excellent six inning performance against the Giants where he allowed just two hits and one run over six innings. The Phillies don't have the same luxury of playing in a weak division, as the club sits 21.5 games back of the Washington Nationals. The Phils turn to veteran Jeremy Hellickson, who is 5-5 with a 4.48 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. The Phillies have lost the last five starts of Hellickson and seven of the last 10. Nice spot here for the Pirates to build on their modest win streak. Take Pittsburgh. |
|||||||
07-05-17 | Royals +114 v. Mariners | 9-6 | Win | 114 | 10 h 56 m | Show
The Royals may have struggled this season, but they have done well with Vargas on the hill. When Vargas has started, the Royals are 4-1 in his last five road starts, 10-1 in his last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 7-0 against the AL West. In addition, KC is 20-7 in his last 27 starts on grass. Meanwhile, the Mariners have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games. Good spot here for a big Royals win. Play KC. |
|||||||
07-05-17 | Blue Jays v. Yankees -1.5 | 7-6 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 22 m | Show
Yankees -1.5 Runs: Despite the Yankees recent struggles (6-15 their last 21 games), I like them on the run line today. The Yankees have been excellent in this role, with Pineda on the hill against a team with a losing record. The Jays are dead last in the AL East too. They are just 1-5 in Estrada's last six starts. Good spot here for the Yankees to win big. Play NY on the run line. |

06-30-17 | Twins v. Royals -120 | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show
Minnesota heads out on the road and the Twins are 2-5 away against a team with a winning home record. The Twins are also 1-4 in their last 5 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Kansas City has turned things around and has a winning home mark. The Royals are on a 12-5 run, 8-3 in their last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter. Kansas City Royals left-hander Jason Vargas (11-3, 2.29 ERA) bids to become the American League's first 12-game winner. And the Royals are 17-5 in Vargas' last 22 home starts. Play KC. |
|||||||
06-30-17 | Yankees v. Astros -159 | 13-4 | Loss | -159 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Houston pretty much has the division wrapped-up before the All-Star break. The Astros are already 13.5 games ahead of second place LA Angels. Even with their big lead, the Astros continue to win, stringing together eight wins in their last 10 games. The Yankees are in 2nd place in the AL East, just one game back of the Red Sox. The Yankees have a losing record on the road at just 18-22. Michael Pineda has been solid for the pin stripers, posting a 7-4 record and 4.12 ERA. Lance McCullers has shined for the Astros, posting a 7-1 record and 2.53 ERA. The Astros have won seven straight starts by McCullers. Too much to pass on the best team in baseball at home with McCullers on the hill. Play Houston. |

06-25-17 | Tigers v. Padres +107 | 7-5 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 19 m | Show
Detroit is a struggling team a long way from home and loses the DH on Friday and again on Sat. The Tigers are 3-10 in their last 13 road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Tigers have now lost eight straight games overall. San Diego is home, on a 10-4 run here. The Padres are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record. Play San Diego. |
|||||||
06-25-17 | Astros v. Mariners +111 | 8-2 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 57 m | Show
It's first and second place meeting here in the AL West as the M's host the Astros. Houston is walking away with the division, now up 12.5 games over Seattle. That makes every matchup with the Astros of utmost importance. The Astros starter today is little used Francis Martes. The 21-year old has been in only three games and has an ERA of 5.02, though he has won both of his previous two starts. Ariel Miranda will start for the M's, with a 6-3 record and 4.04 ERA. Miranda has been very good, throwing seven quality starts in his last eight games. In fact, the 28-year-old has allowed more than two runs just once in that streak. The M's need this game if they hope to close that gap at all. Play the Mariners. |
|||||||
06-25-17 | Mets v. Giants OVER 9 | 8-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 51 m | Show
The Mets have been a great over play when on grass, evidenced by their 38-15-7 mark the last 60 overall. In addition, they are 19-6-1 their last 26 against lefthanded starters. The Giants have also been a good over team recently, going 7-3-2 O/U their last 12 games. These team are also 4-1 O/U in their last five meetings in San Francisco. The Mets have one of the worst pitching staffs, ranked 28th in baseball in ERA (5.02) and 29th in WHIP (1.49). The Giants staff isn't much better, 23rd in ERA (4.78) and 24th in WHIP (1.41). These teams should put up plenty of runs today. Take the OVER. |
|||||||
06-25-17 | Twins +141 v. Indians | 4-0 | Win | 141 | 3 h 1 m | Show
Great series here between the top two teams in the AL Central. The Twins had the lead for some time, but have fallen behind the Indians for just a half game. The Twins have taken two straight from the tribe and look for a third today. Veteran Ervin Santana will toe the rubber for the Twins. Santana is 9-4 this year with a 2.97 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. He's second in the AL in wins and third in WHIP. Santana was roughed up in his last start, allowing six runs over five innings, however his team mates picked him up with a 9-7 win over the White Sox. Struggling Josh Tomlin will make the start for the Indians. Tomlin is just 4-8 this season with a 6.07 ERA. Tomlin has allowed 13 runs over his lat 11.2 innings. Moreover, the tribe has won just two of his last eight starts. This nice dog price is just too much to pass on with the Twins. Play Minnesota. |
|||||||
06-25-17 | Orioles v. Rays OVER 9.5 | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 57 m | Show
Baltimore has give up more runs than any other team in baseball, 404 with a -68 run differential. It won't get any better today with Christ Tillman on the hill. Tillman has really struggled for the birds this season, posting a 1-5 record, 8.39 ERA and 2.17 WHIP. Jake Odorizzi has been decent for the Rays, posting a 4-3 record and 3.78 ERA. The Rays have lost five of the righthander's last six starts. In addition, Odorizzi has allowed at least three walks in five of his last six outings. This game has OVER written all all over it. That's the way I'm playing it here on Sunday. |
|||||||
06-24-17 | Tigers v. Padres -101 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 15 h 34 m | Show
Detroit is a struggling team a long way from home and loses the DH. The Tigers are 3-9 in their last 12 road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Tigers are also 3-11 in Anibel Sanchezs (7.96 ERA) last 14 road starts. San Diego is home, on a 9-4 run here. The Padres are 7-2 in their last 9 vs. a team with a losing record. Play San Diego. |
|||||||
06-24-17 | Orioles v. Rays -148 | 8-3 | Loss | -148 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Baltimore is 11-23 on the road. Starter Dylan Bundy has a 7.63 ERA in his past three starts. Manager Buck Showalter sees Bundy's recent struggles as a result of a heavy workload and the Orioles are 6-20 in their last 26 road games.  Tampa Bay is playing well and the Rays are 8-2 in their last 10 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Rays are 7-2 at home, 8-3 in their last 11 games on astroturf. Play Tampa Bay. |
|||||||
06-24-17 | A's v. White Sox -103 | 10-2 | Loss | -103 | 7 h 53 m | Show
Oakland shut-out the White Sox in game one of this series on Friday, 3-0. Today the A's go for two straight as they send Daniel Gossett to the hill. It will be a struggle, seeing as Gossett has a 7.20 ERA and 0-2 record. Gossett has just two appearances this season (both starts) and both losses by a combined 15-7 for the A's. Veteran James Shields will toe the rubber for the Sox. Shields is 1-0 with a 2.42 ERA. Shields returned from the DL on the 18th and pitched a solid 5.2 innings, allowing just three runs and walking one. If Shields can remain healthy he will give this team a solid starter. Good spot for him today. I'm taking the White Sox. |
