11-09-16 | Rockets v. Spurs -8 | Top | 101-99 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 35 m | Show |
Spurs The San Antonio Spurs had three-plus days to reflect on the beating they took from the Los Angeles Clippers and attempt to regroup when they host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. San Antonio was trounced 116-92 by the Clippers on Saturday for its second straight home loss after compiling a 40-1 home record last season. San Antonio might have the starting backcourt of point guard Tony Parker and shooting guard Danny Green in the lineup together for the first time this season. Parker (knee) missed the past two games while Green hasn't played at all after suffering a quadriceps injury last month but was a full participant in Monday's practice. Rockets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.Spurs are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Spurs won six of the past seven meetings. Houston plays no defense and the Spurs do. Lay the number with the Spurs at home. |
|||||||
11-09-16 | Pistons -4 v. Suns | Top | 100-107 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
Pistons The Detroit Pistons opened a four-game road trip with a putrid performance and attempt to bounce back when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The Pistons dug themselves a 30-point halftime deficit Monday while being demolished 114-82 by the Los Angeles Clippers. The Pistons have won the past three meetings and five of the last seven.Pistons are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.Suns are 9-25 ATS in their last 34 games following a ATS win. Pistons are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Phoenix. Look for the Suns to be a little tired after playing on the road last night. |
|||||||
11-08-16 | Nuggets +3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 107-108 | Win | 101 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
Nuggets The Denver Nuggets showed off exactly how explosive they can be offensively when everything's clicking in a 123-107 win at Boston on Sunday. The Nuggets will try to carry that momentum further south when they finish off a five-game road trip by visiting the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. Denver sandwiched a win in Minnesota around losses at Toronto and Detroit in the first three games of the trip but the Nuggets gave themselves a chance at a winning excursion by putting up 43 first-quarter points at Boston on Sunday and cruising to the win. The Grizzlies are struggling to execute and compete and fell to 1-2 on their four-game homestand with losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers over the weekend. Memphis scored over 100 points in each of its first three games but is averaging 87.8 over the last four contests. The road team took each of the last three meetings, with Denver grabbing a 109-105 win at Memphis on March 30 to snap a five-game losing streak in the series. Take Denver and the points. |

11-03-16 | Pacers -2 v. Bucks | Top | 107-125 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 31 m | Show |
Pacers The Indiana Pacers knew coming into the season that they could count on production from Paul George, and they were hoping for consistent production from a few other places on the roster. George will try to find some help on offense when the Pacers go for their first road win at the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Turner, who averaged 21 points and 10.3 rebounds in the first three games, can chalk up his poor performance on Tuesday to battling foul trouble, but Teague is a different story. The point guard, who arrived in a trade from Atlanta over the summer, totaled 12 points on 6-of-35 shooting in the last three contests. Teague - a 35.2 percent 3-point shooter who knocked down a career-best 40 percent of his attempts for the Hawks last season - is 1-for-15 from beyond the arc for Indiana. Look for that to improve. Milwaukee signed center Greg Monroe to a three-year, $51 million deal prior to last season but has him coming off the bench in limited minutes this season. Monroe failed to reach 20 minutes in any of the last three games but made the most of his 18 minutes on Tuesday with six points and 11 rebounds. The Bucks are starting Miles Plumlee at center and using John Henson when they need defense at that spot and the two split the minutes Monroe on Tuesday, with Henson logging 16 and Plumlee at 14. Indiana won twice at Milwaukee last season, each time by five points.Pacers are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. NBA Central.Bucks are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. Pacers are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Milwaukee. |
|||||||
11-03-16 | Nuggets +4 v. Wolves | Top | 102-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
Denver The Minnesota Timberwolves were expected to take a big step forward this season under head coach Tom Thibodeau, and they just showed off their capabilities for the first time. The Timberwolves will try to put together back-to-back strong performances when they host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. Denver is starting two centers in Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic and continues to get strong efforts from both. Nurkic logged a season-high 38 minutes on Monday at Toronto and responded with 13 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks while Jokic followed up a 23-point, 17-rebound effort against Portland with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting against the Raptors. Minnesota features arguably more young talent than any other team in the league and showed off its depth in Tuesday's win. Back-to-back Rookies of the Year Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns are the headliners, but Zach LaVine took over the show with 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting and rookie point guard Kris Dunn thrived in his first start. Getting the starting nod in place of Ricky Rubio (elbow), Dunn contributed 10 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds to the win. Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.Timberwolves are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.Nuggets are 18-7-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings in Minnesota. |
|||||||
11-02-16 | Bulls v. Celtics -2.5 | Top | 100-107 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
Celtics The Chicago Bulls opened the campaign with questions about how well and how quickly the pieces brought in over the summer would gel, and the answers are very well and very quickly. The Bulls will try to stay undefeated and beat the Celtics for the second time already in the young season when they visit Boston on Wednesday. Boston sandwiched a 105-99 loss at Chicago on Thursday around a pair of wins and last played Saturday, earning a 104-98 win at Charlotte. Avery Bradley buried a career-high eight 3-pointers en route to 31 points and pulled down a career-best 11 rebounds in the victory. Boston took both meetings at home last season and are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. Take Boston with extra rest and lay the small number.

11-02-16 | Pistons -4.5 v. Nets | Top | 101-109 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Pistons The Detroit Pistons will try to follow up a perfect homestand with their first road win of the season when they visit the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. After opening the season with a setback at Toronto, the Pistons knocked off three straight at home by an average of 18 points -- capped by Tuesday's 102-89 victory over the New York Knicks. Harris was 8-of-12 from the floor versus New York and has shot at least 50 percent in all four games, including a 7-of-13 showing from long range. Caldwell-Pope averaged 4.5 points in the season's first two games but has posted 21 and 19 in his last two, respectively. Andre Drummond averaged 20 points and 14 rebounds as Detroit took three of four meetings with Brooklyn last season. Brooklyn was last in the NBA in 2015-16 in opponents' field-goal percentage (47.9) and it has begun to trend in that direction again, allowing a 50.4-percent rate in its three losses. Pistons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games when their starting 5 players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day and are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 0 days rest.Nets are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. |
|||||||
11-01-16 | Knicks v. Pistons -4 | Top | 89-102 | Win | 100 | 5 h 46 m | Show |
Pistons – 4 The Detroit Pistons struggled on the defensive end in their season opener at Toronto last week and vowed to turn things around on that end - a pledge they apparently took seriously. The Pistons will try to hold a third straight opponent under 84 points when they host the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Noah will get a big test on the defensive end from Detroit center Andre Drummond, who collected 20 points, 23 rebounds and three blocks in Sunday's 98-83 win over Milwaukee. Drummond, who also grabbed 20 boards in Friday's 108-82 triumph over Orlando, is getting credit from his teammates for the defensive performances the last two contests. The home team took each of the three meetings last season and New York is looking for its first win in Detroit since a 121-115 overtime triumph on Feb. 27, 2015. Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest.Pistons are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. |
|||||||
10-28-16 | Magic v. Pistons -3.5 | Top | 82-108 | Win | 100 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
Pistons The Detroit Pistons will be without point guard Reggie Jackson for at least the first month and, if the first game is any indication, will be eagerly anticipating his return. The Pistons will look for their first win when they host another team that did not get off to its preferred start in the Orlando Magic on Friday. The Magic can relate to struggles on the defensive end after allowing the Miami Heat to score 74 points in the paint in a 108-96 setback on Wednesday. Detroit has won the past six matchups with Orlando, including a three-game sweep in 2016. Lay the points with the Pistons at home. |
|||||||
10-28-16 | Cavs v. Raptors +3.5 | Top | 94-91 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
Raptors The defending champion Cavaliers were sharp in their season opener as they rolled to a 117-88 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Point guard Kyrie Irving scored 29 points and forward LeBron James had 19 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for his 43rd career regular-season triple-double in the easy victory. Toronto also started well by posting a 109-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday behind 40 points from All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan. The Raptors won two of the three regular-season meetings with the Cavaliers last season. Home team is 8-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings. I expect the Raptors to be more up for this game and get the home win. |
|||||||
10-26-16 | Mavs v. Pacers -6 | Top | 121-130 | Win | 100 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
Pacers – 6 If there is a team in the Eastern Conference capable of challenging the Cleveland Cavaliers for supremacy, it might be the Indiana Pacers. The 2016-17 Pacers will begin trying to prove themselves when they open the regular season by hosting the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. Indiana said goodbye to coach Frank Vogel after falling in seven games to second-seeded Toronto in the first round of the playoffs last spring and brought in veteran Nate McMillan to run the staff while upgrading the roster with center Al Jefferson, forward Thaddeus Young and point guard Jeff Teague. The three combine with MVP candidate Paul George and second-year center Myles Turner in an upgraded offense that is expected to improve on last season's scoring average of 102.2 points, which ranked 17th in the NBA and seventh in the East. The Pacers took both meetings last season, including a 107-81 triumph at home on Dec. 16, and are riding a four-game winning streak in the series. |
|||||||
06-19-16 | Cavs +5 v. Warriors | Top | 93-89 | Win | 100 | 27 h 27 m | Show |
Cavs + 5 It all comes down to a game seven in the NBA Finals it what should be a great game. The previous six games have all been decided by double digits, with Cleveland continuing its climb out of a 3-1 hole with a stout 115-101 home victory as a 2-point home chalk in Game 6 Thursday night. For all the blowout wins, the two teams have combined for the exact same number of total points – 610. Can the Cavs continue to play with high energy like the last two games? I believe so and give them a chance at winning outright so take the points. It’s been a great NBA season. Enjoy your summer and see you back here for next seasons NBA in October. |
|||||||
06-16-16 | Warriors v. Cavs -2 | Top | 101-115 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show |
Cavs – 2 The Cleveland Cavaliers needed historic performances from Kyrie Irving and LeBron James to stay alive in the NBA Finals, and the two stars delivered. James and Irving will try to follow up their incredible efforts when Draymond Green returns to the lineup and the Golden State Warriors visit the Cavaliers with another chance to close out the series in Game 6 on Thursday. Golden State’s defense took a second hit in addition to the loss of Green when anchor Andrew Bogut went down early in the third quarter of Game 5 with a knee injury. Bogut did not return to the game and underwent an MRI exam that revealed bone bruises that will force him out for the rest of the Finals. Cleveland is trying to become the first team ever to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals and needs another blistering effort from Irving and James and I believe they get it and move on to game seven. |
|||||||
06-10-16 | Warriors v. Cavs -2 | Top | 108-97 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 30 m | Show |
Cavs – 2 The Cleveland Cavaliers came home and completely changed the tone of the series in a dominating Game 3 performance and have a chance to even things up at two wins apiece when they host the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday. The Cavaliers have a decision to make in regards to power forward Kevin Love, who sat out the previous game with a concussion and watched his team’s defense improve. Cleveland was in desperation mode going into Game 3 and realizes that it needs to maintain that sense of urgency on Friday. I’m looking for the Cavs to continue their excellent play here at home and while this game will not be a blowout like game 3 the Cavs get the win to tie up the series. |
|||||||
06-08-16 | Warriors v. Cavs +1.5 | Top | 90-120 | Win | 100 | 10 h 17 m | Show |
Cavs + 1.5 It’s do or die time for LeBron James and the Cavs here and you have to look for a big effort on their part. With Kevin Love questionable look for veteran shooter Channing Frye to likely play a larger role and little-used Timofey Mozgov will be a bigger part of the rotation. The Warriors have dominated through the first two games of the NBA Finals, but Golden State has struggled in Game 3's of the playoffs the last two seasons. This postseason, the defending champions lost to the Rockets by one point in Game 3 of the opening round and 12 points of Game 3 in the second round to the Blazers. Cavaliers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games. |
|||||||
06-05-16 | Cavs +6.5 v. Warriors | Top | 77-110 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 46 m | Show |
Cavs + 6 ½ Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined for 20 points on 27 shots and the Golden State Warriors still took Game 1 of the NBA Finals by 15 points. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who visit the Warriors for Game 2 on Sunday, are searching for answers after being outscored on the bench and outworked on the offensive end in the setback. Cleveland is down one game to Golden State in the Finals for the second straight season but came away from Game 1 pleased with how it played on the defensive end and confident going forward. I look for the Cavs offense to be in high gear here in game 2 and this will be close. Take the points. |
|||||||
06-02-16 | Cavs +6 v. Warriors | Top | 89-104 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
Cavs + 6 The Golden State Warriors don't think their record 73-win season will feel complete unless they win the NBA title and the Cleveland Cavaliers are once again standing in their way. The Warriors attempt to knock off Cleveland in the NBA Finals for the second straight campaign when the best-of-seven series gets underway Thursday in Oakland, Calif. James is playing in his seventh NBA Finals and has only emerged as a winner twice -- both times with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as teammates on the Miami Heat. Cleveland was without power forward Kevin Love (shoulder) for all of last season's championship series, lost point guard Kyrie Irving (kneecap) in the opener and has Tryonn Lue as head coach after the midseason firing of David Blatt. I’m backing the points with the Cavs in what should be a close game and I give them a chance to steal game one here on the road. |
|||||||
05-30-16 | Thunder +7 v. Warriors | Top | 88-96 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 12 m | Show |
Thunder + 7 The Golden State Warriors turned to their stars down the stretch in Game 6, and Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry delivered a Game 7. The Warriors will have the chance to close out the Western Conference finals and advance to the NBA Finals for the second straight year when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 on Monday. Oklahoma City already has one win at Golden State under its belt in the series and believes it can overcome the devastation of dropping Game 6 at home. This should be a great game 7 and I’ll back the points in a game that comes down to the wire. Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss. Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win. |
|||||||
05-27-16 | Cavs -6 v. Raptors | Top | 113-87 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show |
Cavs – 6 The Cleveland Cavaliers have hung three fierce beatings on Toronto but the outcomes have been different when the Eastern Conference finals have been staged in Canada. The Raptors will attempt to force a Game 7 when they host Cleveland on Friday, while the Cavaliers will be looking to clinch their second consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. Cleveland took a 3-2 series lead with a 116-78 dismantling of the Raptors on Wednesday and its three wins are by an average of 29.3 points. The Raptors gained momentum with their wins in Game 3 and 4 but the good vibes evaporated quickly in the Game 5 effort that was described as "embarrassing" by coach Dwane Casey. Cavaliers are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.Raptors are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game and are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall. I’ll look for Toronto to run out of gas here and for the Cavs to advance to the Finals. |
|||||||
05-26-16 | Thunder +7.5 v. Warriors | Top | 111-120 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Thunder The Oklahoma City Thunder have made the defending champion Golden State Warriors look like a lottery team in the last two games and are on the verge of advancing to the NBA Finals. The Warriors will try to stave off elimination and pull within 3-2 in the series when they host Game 5 on Thursday. The Thunder have been more aggressive, more athletic, faster and much better at executing on both ends of the floor in 3 1/2 of the first four games of the series and scored 72 first-half points in each of the last two contests while winning both by an average of 26 points. Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. I do expect the Warriors to bring their A-Game tonight but still feel this will be a close game so take the points. |
|||||||
05-25-16 | Raptors +11 v. Cavs | Top | 78-116 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
Raptors + 11 The Cleveland Cavaliers are suddenly locked in a fierce battle in the Eastern Conference finals after once being in position to roll over the Toronto Raptors. Two victories by Toronto changed the complexion of the now-tied series, and it is a best-of-three competition when the series returns to Cleveland for Wednesday's Game 5. Getting a combined 67 points on 28-of-43 shooting from point guard Kyle Lowry (35) and DeRozan was huge for Toronto as the two All-Stars have both experienced some struggles in the postseason. I think they will keep that going to a extent and stay in this game. Raptors are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.Underdog is 18-6 ATS in the last 24 meetings. |
|||||||
05-23-16 | Cavs -6 v. Raptors | Top | 99-105 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
Cavs Everybody was writing off the Toronto Raptors after they lost the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals by an average of 25 points. Toronto countered with a superb Game 3 performance and aims to tie the series at 2-2 when it hosts the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. I don’t see the Cavs shooting that poorly again or getting beat on the boards again. Ill lay the number with the Caves on the road. |
|||||||
05-22-16 | Warriors v. Thunder +3.5 | Top | 105-133 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
Thunder + 3.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder accomplished one goal by taking Game 1 at Golden State to begin the Western Conference finals but saw a different Warriors team in a Game 2 loss. The Thunder will try to protect home court when the series shifts to Oklahoma City for Game 3 on Sunday. Oklahoma City was demolished 124-92 at San Antonio in Game 1 of its second-round series before bouncing back to win the series in six games, and the team fully believes it will recover against the Warriors. Thunder are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.Thunder are 31-10-2 ATS in their last 43 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. We’ll back the home underdog in the Thunder. |
|||||||
05-21-16 | Cavs -5.5 v. Raptors | Top | 84-99 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Cavs – 5 1/2 The Cleveland Cavaliers have dominated the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals and look to record their 11th straight victory this postseason when they visit the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. Cleveland won the first two games of the series by an average of 25 points to become the sixth team in NBA history to start the postseason with 10 or more victories.Cleveland has a 91-61 rebounding edge over the first two games. The Raptors are returning home but there are few observers expecting them to make it a series after the way they were outclassed in Cleveland. Cavaliers are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest.Raptors are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Toronto.
|
|||||||
05-19-16 | Raptors v. Cavs -12 | Top | 89-108 | Win | 100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers dismantled the Toronto Raptors in the opening game of the Eastern Conference finals and attempt to remain unbeaten in the postseason when they host Thursday's Game 2. Cleveland is 9-0 in the playoffs and its latest superb performance was a 115-84 trouncing of Toronto in Game 1. Point guard Kyrie Irving is meshing well with James and badly outplayed Lowry with 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting in the opener. Irving and James haven't always seen eye-to-eye over their two seasons together but James said he is seeing the growth and maturity needed from Irving. I don’t see much changing here and even though the Cavs might not just lay it on them again tonight I do see them covering this number. Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.Cavaliers are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |
|||||||
05-18-16 | Thunder +8.5 v. Warriors | Top | 91-118 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
Thunder + 8 ½ The Oklahoma City Thunder looked overmatched for all of 24 minutes in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals before proving emphatically that they not only belong with the Golden State Warriors, but have a chance to beat the defending champs. The Thunder will try to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they visit the Warriors for Game 2 on Wednesday. Oklahoma City faced a 13-point halftime deficit after committing 10 turnovers and struggling to defend Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the first half. The Thunder cut that number to two turnovers after the break and refused to bend to Golden State’s lineup changes, leaving centers Steven Adams and Enes Kanter in the game despite the Warriors going small. I think that was good coaching by Oklahoma City coach Billy Donovan. Thunder are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. I do think the Warriors come out with the victory tonight but it’s not going to be easy so I’m backing the points with OKC again. |
|||||||
05-17-16 | Raptors v. Cavs -11 | Top | 84-115 | Win | 100 | 9 h 59 m | Show |
Cavs – 11 The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to be challenged this postseason and attempt to continue to cruise past opponents when they open the Eastern Conference finals against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday. Cleveland is 8-0 in the playoffs after sweeping Detroit and Atlanta, while Toronto went the full seven games to eliminate both Indiana and Miami. The Cavaliers will be the fresher team having not played since May 8 while the Raptors completed a hard-fought series with the Miami Heat on Sunday. The Raptors will be without starting center Jonas Valanciunas (ankle) for at least the first two games of the series and that is going to hurt them in the paint. The Cavaliers made 77 3-point baskets in the four-game sweep of the Hawks. I’m looking for the Cavs to continue their hot shooting here in game one. Lay the big number. |
|||||||
05-16-16 | Thunder +7.5 v. Warriors | Top | 108-102 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show |
Thunder The defending champion and top-seeded Golden State Warriors are one series away from another appearance in the NBA Finals but are staring at an opponent that seems to get stronger by the game. The Oklahoma City Thunder will try to steal Game 1 on the road when they visit the Warriors for the series opener on Monday. The Thunder have won four of their five road games in the postseason and took a pair in the semifinals at San Antonio, which dropped only one home game during the regular season. Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. |
|||||||
05-15-16 | Heat +4.5 v. Raptors | Top | 89-116 | Loss | -102 | 27 h 46 m | Show |
Heat + 4 ½ Once again, the Toronto Raptors have proven they're incapable of putting their foot down while holding a series lead in the NBA postseason. A 103-91 loss in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Friday night to the Miami Heat evens the series at 3-3, with a winner-take-all Game 7 going down on Sunday afternoon at the Air Canada Centre. In defeat, the Raptors fall to 0-7 in franchise history when up in a playoff series. Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. Raptors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games. I’m taking the points it what should be a close game seven where we may even see overtime once again. |
|||||||
05-12-16 | Spurs v. Thunder +2 | Top | 99-113 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
Thunder The Oklahoma City Thunder are one victory away from reaching the Western Conference finals and have two opportunities to get the job done. The Thunder, who lead the series 3-2, aim to end the festivities in Thursday's Game 6, while the San Antonio Spurs visit town in dire need of a victory to force a Game 7. Kawhi Leonard (26 points, five steals in Game 5) and power forward LaMarcus Aldridge (20 points, nine rebounds) have carried San Antonio during the series with occasional help from shooting guard Danny Green (six 3-pointers in Game 5) and point guard Tony Parker (good outings in Game 3 and 4). But the reserves have been below par and combined for just 11 points on 5-of-18 shooting in Game 5. Point guard Russell Westbrook had 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in Game 5 and was so superb that everybody overlooked his eight turnovers.Durant scored 23 points on a series-worst 8-of-21 shooting effort in a dropoff from his spectacular 41-point effort in Game 4. I’ll look for him to get back on track tonight. Oklahoma City C Steven Adams has been a difference-maker with three double-doubles while averaging 10.2 points and 12 rebounds in the series. Thunder are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games versus a team with a winning SU record.Spurs are 3-12 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Oklahoma City. |

05-11-16 | Blazers +13 v. Warriors | Top | 121-125 | Win | 100 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
Blazers It took Stephen Curry about three quarters to shake off the rust before breaking the hearts of Portland Trail Blazers fans in Game 4. Curry, who played a total of two halves in the first eight games of the postseason, scored an NBA-record 17 points in overtime of Game 4 to give the Golden State Warriors a chance to close out the visiting Blazers in Game 5 on Wednesday. Lillard felt Portland had chances to win each of the last three games in the series and will go back to his hometown of Oakland, Calif., for Game 5 refusing to let the defending champions off easy. The Trail Blazers got strong efforts from C.J. McCollum (24 points) and Al-Farouq Aminu (18 points, 13 rebounds) in Game 4 to support Lillard but had some coverage breakdowns on Curry that need to be cleaned up before Wednesday. While the Warriors most likely win this game and close out the series I see Portland hanging tough and getting the cover. |

05-11-16 | Heat +5 v. Raptors | Top | 91-99 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
Heat The Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat are not content with playing 48-minute basketball games in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. The teams will try to decide things in the allotted amount of time when the series, which is knotted at two wins apiece, shifts back to Toronto for Game 5 on Wednesday. Dwyane Wade has been the best player in the series and was at it again with 30 points on 13-of-24 shooting in a 94-87 overtime win on Monday – the third overtime game in the series. Wade’s success and the strong play of Heat point guard Goran Dragic in the series has been in direct contrast to Toronto’s All-Star backcourt of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. DeRozan slumped to nine points on 4-of-17 shooting in Game 4 and is shooting 35 percent in the series while Lowry went 2-of-11 in the loss before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Miami went 1-of-15 from 3-point range in Game 4 and trailed by nine point’s midway through the fourth quarter and still came away with the win and cover. Heat are 27-11-1 ATS in their last 39 Conference Semifinals games and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest.Raptors are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.Heat are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Toronto. |
|||||||
05-10-16 | Thunder v. Spurs -7 | Top | 95-91 | Loss | -106 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
Spurs – 7 San Antonio was awful while being outscored 34-16 in the final quarter of Game 4 and it was more than Durant's greatness that decided the contest. Down the stretch in the fourth quarter the Spurs made way too many mistakes and that will not happen again here at home. Point guard Tony Parker was strong offensively for the second straight game with 22 points - he is averaging 20.5 over the past two games after averaging just 4.5 over the first two contests. Look for San Antonio PF LaMarcus Aldridge and company to set it up tonight and take the series lead. Thunder are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.Spurs are 18-6 ATS in their last 24 games following a straight up loss. |
|||||||
05-09-16 | Raptors v. Heat -5 | Top | 87-94 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
Heat – 5 Kyle Lowry found his shooting stroke and the Toronto Raptors jumped back into the driver’s seat in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Lowry scored 29 of his 33 points in the second half of Game 3 and will try to put together two solid games in a row when the Raptors visit the Miami Heat for Game 4 on Monday. I don’t think he can. Lowry was shooting 30.8 percent through the first nine postseason games and went 2-of-14 from 3-point range in the first two games of the semifinals The Heat decided to ride or die with Dwyane Wade at the end of Game 3 and left Goran Dragic, who led the team in scoring in the first two games of the series, on the bench down the stretch. That was a bad move and I don’t look for it to happen again tonight. Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS win and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall.Heat are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games. |
|||||||
05-08-16 | Cavs -4.5 v. Hawks | Top | 100-99 | Loss | -108 | 3 h 29 m | Show |
Cavs – 5 The Cleveland Cavaliers are putting on a 3-point shooting show and are on the verge of sweeping the Atlanta Hawks for the second straight postseason. Cleveland made 21 3-pointers on Friday - four shy of its record-setting performance in Game 2 - and looks to finish off the host Hawks in Sunday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series. Atlanta was outrebounded by a 55-28 margin in Game 3 to add to their woes. Cavaliers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest. Hawks are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss. Look for Cleveland to wrap up the series today. |
|||||||
05-07-16 | Warriors v. Blazers +4 | Top | 108-120 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Blazers Portland let a golden opportunity slip away in Game 2, when it entered the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead only to be outscored 34-12 in the final period as Golden State ran away with the win. The 2-0 lead in the series gives the Warriors a chance to be cautious with Curry, who has been out since April 24 with a knee injury as he sits again tonight. I can see the Warriors having a little bit of a letdown here in Portland. Portland won the final four games of its first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers after dropping the opening two and is confident it can pull off a similar comeback. While that may be unlikely I do see the Blazers bringing a full effort here at home and they should be in this game throughout. Warriors are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games. Trail Blazers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.Home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. |
|||||||
05-07-16 | Raptors v. Heat -5 | Top | 95-91 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 14 m | Show |
Heat The shooting woes of Toronto Raptors stars Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan continue to persist, but the team is finding ways to stay in games during the postseason. The Raptors will once again try to get more from their All-Star backcourt and aim for a 2-1 lead when they visit the Miami Heat for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Saturday. Lowry is 2-of-14 from 3-point range in the series and is shooting 15.8 percent in the postseason. I’m looking for another poor shooting night by the Raptors. Miami is heading back home for the first time since Game 7 of the first round against the Charlotte Hornets, when it steamrolled its way to a 106-73 victory. Raptors are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall.Heat are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and are 26-10-1 ATS in their last 37 Conference Semifinals games. I’ll lay it with Miami to take the series lead at 2-1. |
|||||||
05-06-16 | Cavs -2 v. Hawks | Top | 121-108 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers are fresh off the greatest 3-point shooting performance in NBA history and look to once again dismantle the host Atlanta Hawks in Friday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Cleveland knocked down a record 25 3-pointers - the most in the regular season or postseason - while rolling to a 123-98 win that represents its 10th consecutive playoff victory over the Hawks. Atlanta was demoralized while facing a 74-38 halftime deficit and shooting guard Kyle Korver was in disbelief over what he was viewing.Atlanta faces a do-or-die situation in Game 3 and would like to avoid being swept in a playoff series by the Cavaliers for the second straight season. Cavaliers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest.Hawks are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 Conference Semifinals games and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss. I don’t see much changing in this series and I’m back the Cavs again tonight. |
|||||||
05-04-16 | Hawks v. Cavs -7 | Top | 98-123 | Win | 100 | 10 h 31 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers keep knocking off Atlanta in the postseason and look to do it for the 10th consecutive time when they host the Hawks in Wednesday's Game 2. Cleveland continued its playoff mastery of Atlanta with a 104-93 series-opening victory on Monday as it held the Hawks to 37.9 percent shooting from the field. Cleveland drained 15 3-point baskets and received a stellar all-around effort from forward LeBron James, who had 25 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and five steals. Look for more of the same tonight. The Hawks starting guards Jeff Teague (eight points on 2-of-9 shooting) and Kyle Korver (three points, 0-of-1 shooting) were highly unproductive in game one. Atlanta C Al Horford had just 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting in the opener, marking the fourth time in seven postseason games that he has tallied 10 or fewer points. Hawks are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 Conference Semifinals games.Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest.Hawks are 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings. |
|||||||
05-03-16 | Blazers v. Warriors -9.5 | Top | 99-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
Warriors The Golden State Warriors had no problem scoring without MVP Stephen Curry in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals and put the focus on defense for most of the afternoon. The Portland Trail Blazers had no answers for the Warriors’ big bodies in the lane and on the perimeter and will try to make some changes before visiting Golden State for Game 2 on Tuesday. The Warriors frustrated Portland guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum with a series of bigger defenders and funneled the action into the paint, where Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green were waiting to score. The Trail Blazers fell behind by 20 points in the first quarter and never managed to work their way back into the game before falling 118-106. Trail Blazers are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.Warriors are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games. |
|||||||
05-03-16 | Heat +4.5 v. Raptors | Top | 102-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Heat The Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat both had more trouble in the first round than they intended and ended up battling through seven games to reach the Eastern Conference semifinals. Neither team will have had much time to prepare when the Raptors host the Heat in Game 1 on Tuesday. Miami star Dwyane Wade kept his team alive with a brilliant fourth quarter in Game 6 but everyone stepped up in Game 7 with the season on the line. Dragic scored 25 points in the clincher while Hassan Whiteside, who feels that the strength the team formed in the series will help them the rest of the way in the playoffs, capped a strong series with 10 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots. Toronto scrapped past the seventh-seeded Pacers despite terrible shooting slumps from Lowry (31.6 percent from the field in the series) and DeRozan (31.9). Heat are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and are 23-10 ATS in their last 33 vs. Eastern Conference.Raptors are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 1 days rest and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. |
|||||||
05-01-16 | Blazers v. Warriors -9 | Top | 106-118 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
Warriors The Portland Trail Blazers benefited from some injury luck in the first round against the Los Angeles Clippers and are hoping for some more when they visit the top-seeded Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Sunday. Warriors MVP guard Stephen Curry (knee) will miss Game 1 and could miss several games in the series. Fact is the Blazers are lucky to be here after beating the injury plagued Clippers. I’ll look for the Warriors to come out red-hot on both ends of the floor here in game one even without Curry. Trail Blazers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. |
|||||||
05-01-16 | Hornets +6.5 v. Heat | Top | 73-106 | Loss | -115 | 2 h 19 m | Show |
Hornets The Charlotte Hornets had a chance to close out the series at home but ran into a vintage performance from Dwyane Wade in Game 6. Now it’s the Miami Heat with a chance to clinch the best-of-7 series in front of their home fans, and they host the Hornets in the decisive Game 7 on Sunday. I’m playing the underdog and the points in the Hornets as this game will no doubt come down to late in the 4th quarter. |
|||||||
04-29-16 | Raptors +2 v. Pacers | Top | 83-101 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 58 m | Show |
Raptors Toronto shooting guard DeMar DeRozan emerged from his playoff hibernation in the Game 5 victory and will attempt to help the Raptors clinch the best-of-7 series when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Friday. DeRozan set a personal best for the postseason with 34 points in the 102-99 road win to give the Raptors a 3-2 series lead. Bismack Biyombo was a big-time standout in Game 5 with 10 points and 16 rebounds and he is averaging nine boards in the series. Indiana faces elimination after letting a 17-point lead get away in Game 5 and helped Toronto's comeback bid by scoring just nine fourth-quarter points. Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss. Raptors are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Indiana and are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall. Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games. |
|||||||
04-28-16 | Hawks v. Celtics +2 | Top | 104-92 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
Celtics The Atlanta Hawks found a formula to stop Isaiah Thomas in Game 5, and it brought them to the brink of a series win. The Hawks will try to stop a hobbled Thomas again and close out the series when they visit the Boston Celtics for Game 6 on Thursday. Thomas, who vows to play in Game 6, averaged 35 points in home wins in Games 3 and 4 and was the clear focus of the Hawks defense in Game 5, with two players trapping every time he had the ball. Thomas expressed confidence that his teammates will be able to step up with the series on the line, and guard Marcus Smart will get one more chance in front of the home crowd after posting 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Game 4. Hawks are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games overall. Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. |
|||||||
04-27-16 | Rockets v. Warriors -9 | Top | 81-114 | Win | 100 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
Warriors - 9 Counting their two home wins to open this series, the Warriors are 41-2 at Oracle Arena this season, while the Rockets come in 18-25 on the road. This will be their fourth game in Oakland, losing 123-110 in the regular season and by scores of 104-78 and 115-106 in this series. Houston has gone 2-8 in its last 10 playoff games on the road and more importantly its 3-7 versus the number with six of the eight losses coming by nine or more points. Look for the warriors without Curry to really step up their game in this spot tonight and to close out the series and get some much needed rest before round two. |
|||||||
04-26-16 | Celtics v. Hawks -7 | Top | 83-110 | Win | 100 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
Hawks – 7 The Boston Celtics managed to even the series on their home floor and are hoping for the same effort when the series shifts to Atlanta for Game 5 on Tuesday. The Hawks let a 16-point, second-half lead slip away before falling in overtime in Game 4 but have won five straight and 12 of their last 14 games at home going back to the regular season. Boston is mired in a 3-10 ATS slump in its last 13 road games. Celtics All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas had a tough time scoring in the first two games in Atlanta and that should continue with the way the Hawks play defense at home. Celtics also are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. |
|||||||
04-26-16 | Pacers v. Raptors -6.5 | Top | 99-102 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
Raptors – 6.5 The main issue for the second-seeded Raptors continues to be the subpar play of the All-Star backcourt of point guard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard DeMar DeRozan. Look for both of them to really step up their game tonight in this pivotal Game 5. There has yet to be a close game in the series - both teams' two victories have been by an average of 13.5 points. Toronto owns a 16-5 spread record in its last 21 games against Indiana, going 23-8 in its 31 at home versus the Pacers.Pacers are 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 games following a straight up win.Raptors are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. |
|||||||
04-25-16 | Mavs v. Thunder -14.5 | Top | 104-118 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 6 m | Show |
Thunder All-Star small forward Kevin Durant will be on the floor when the third-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder attempt to close out their first-round series against the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Monday. A flagrant 2 foul got Durant ejected late in Saturday's 119-108 road win over the sixth-seeded Mavericks but he avoided a suspension despite being fined $15,000 by the NBA. Look for him to go off tonight. Point guard Deron Williams (sports hernia) departed just 89 seconds into Game 4 after aggravating the injury and will miss the rest of the series for Dallas. Mavericks are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Conference Quarterfinals games.Thunder are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. |
|||||||
04-23-16 | Thunder -8.5 v. Mavs | Top | 119-108 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
Thunder Oklahoma City All-Star forward Kevin Durant rebounded from a horrific game to help the Thunder gain control of the series and he aims to produce again in Saturday's Game 4 against the host Dallas Mavericks. Durant was 7-of-33 shooting as the Thunder fell in Game 2 but rebounded to score a series-best 34 points as third-seeded Oklahoma City rolled to a 131-102 win on Thursday to take a 2-1 series lead. The sixth-seeded Mavericks had threatened to make it a series after the 85-84 road win in Game 2 but were totally outclassed back on the home floor. I look for more of the same here. Thunder are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games versus a team with a winning straight up record.Mavericks are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games versus a team with a winning road record. |
|||||||
04-23-16 | Heat +3 v. Hornets | Top | 80-96 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 17 m | Show |
Heat The Miami Heat have put on an offensive clinic in breezing to a 2-0 lead over the Hornets and hope to keep the points coming when the series shifts to Charlotte for Game 3 on Saturday. The Heat scored a franchise playoff-record 123 points in Game 1 and tallied 72 in the first half of a 115-103 triumph in Game 2.Miami is shooting 57.8 percent from the floor through the first two games and Dwyane Wade is averaging 22 points and 7.5 assists to lead the way.Miami C Hassan Whiteside is averaging 19 points on 17-of-19 shooting, 12 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in the series. Batum was one of the keys to the Charlotte offense in the regular season while averaging career highs of 14.8 points and 5.8 assists and scored a team-high 24 points in Game 1 but will likely miss the rest of the series. His absence sets the Hornets back on offense and does not do much to boost the team defensively with Jeremy Lin likely to absorb some extra minutes. Heat are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Charlotte.Hornets are 1-5 ATS in their last six games versus a team with a winning SU record. |
|||||||
04-22-16 | Cavs v. Pistons +5 | Top | 101-91 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Pistons The Cleveland Cavaliers put on a spectacular shooting exhibition in Game 2 and attempt to take a 3-0 lead in the first-round series when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Friday. Cleveland drained 20 3-pointers in Wednesday's 107-90 victory over the Pistons. They will surely not shoot like that again tonight. Eighth-seeded Detroit has its back against the wall after the two road losses and faces a must-win situation in Game 3. The Pistons let a fourth-quarter lead get away in Game 1 and saw its hopes in Game 2 fade away with a 15-point third quarter. I’m looking for them to shoot better here at home. Detroit is playing a physical series with no interest in backing down and I give them at good shot at winning game 3 outright but I’ll take the points. Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points.Pistons are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. |
|||||||
04-20-16 | Pistons +10.5 v. Cavs | Top | 90-107 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 5 m | Show |
Pistons +10.5 The Detroit Pistons let an upset opportunity get away in the series opener and look to avoid a 0-2 hole when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers in Wednesday's Game 2. Eighth-seeded Detroit held a seven-point lead with 11 minutes remaining in Game 1 before top-seeded Cleveland rallied and stymied the Pistons. I’ll look for the Piston to continue to hang tough with the Cavs so take the points. Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.Pistons are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Cleveland and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Central. |
|||||||
04-20-16 | Hornets v. Heat -4.5 | Top | 103-115 | Win | 100 | 6 h 6 m | Show |
Heat – 4.5 The third-seeded Miami Heat versus the sixth-seeded Charlotte Hornets was supposed to be one of the tighter matchups of the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Heat breezed to a 32-point victory in Game 1 and will try to open up a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven set with another easy win when they host the Hornets in Game 2 on Wednesday.Miami’s clear advantage entering the series was experience, and Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng and Joe Johnson all have plenty of experience in the postseason, even if none of it came together. Charlotte was outrebounded 49-37 and outscored in the paint 56-36 but does not plan to move center Al Jefferson into the starting lineup. Hornets are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Conference Quarterfinals games.Heat are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 home games. |
|||||||
04-19-16 | Celtics v. Hawks -6.5 | Top | 72-89 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show |
Hawks The Atlanta Hawks squandered all of a 19-point lead in Game 1 but recovered late in the fourth quarter and managed to pull out a 102-101 victory. The fourth-seeded Hawks will try to make it two in a row on Tuesday over the fifth-seeded and visiting Boston Celtics, who will be without guard Avery Bradley due to a “significant” hamstring injury suffered late Saturday. This will affect the Celtic’s offensive flow. The absence of Bradley as a lockdown defender could open the floor even more for Atlanta guard Jeff Teague, who collected 23 points and 12 assists in the opener. Teague sealed the Game 1 win at the free-throw line and formed a potent pick-and-roll combination with center Al Horford. Celtics are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 2 days rest. Atlanta gets the job done with a win and cover here in game two. |
|||||||
04-18-16 | Pacers +7.5 v. Raptors | Top | 87-98 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Pacers All-Star forward Paul George and the Indiana Pacers delivered the opening salvo and look to make it two consecutive road victories when they face the Toronto Raptors on Monday. George poured in 33 points in Saturday's 100-90 victory and Indiana attempts to continue the playoff woes of the Raptors. Second-seeded Toronto hasn't won a playoff series since 2001 and has dropped its last seven postseason games, which includes last season's four losses to the Washington Wizards. With the pressure on Toronto I will take the points with the Pacers. |
|||||||
04-17-16 | Pistons +11 v. Cavs | Top | 101-106 | Win | 100 | 45 h 1 m | Show |
Pistons + 11 PistonsCoach Stan Van Gundy's team has confidence based on winning three of four matchups with the Cavs. Van Gundy is very familiar with defending LeBron James, as his 2008-09 Orlando Magic defeated the top-seeded Cavs in the Eastern Conference finals. Of course, don't read anything into Detroit's 112-110 win over Cleveland on the regular season's final day. Cleveland rested James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith. Back the points here with Detroit in game one. |
|||||||
04-16-16 | Rockets v. Warriors -13 | Top | 78-104 | Win | 100 | 22 h 32 m | Show |
Warrior – 13 The Rockets are lucky to even be in the playoffs as they are a very up and down team. The Warriors are the clean cut favorite to win the title and I see them coming out in game one and making a big statement. While the number maybe inflated a couple of points I’m will to lay it with Curry and company here in game one. |
|||||||
04-16-16 | Pacers v. Raptors -6.5 | Top | 100-90 | Loss | -102 | 18 h 27 m | Show |
Raptors – 6.5 Indiana managed a successful, winning season in spite of its not so talented roster. The Pacers are under .500 this season on the road while the Raptors were 32-9 at home. Toronto has been a few steps ahead throughout the year and plays with more consistency. Toronto is a tough place to play and the Pacers will be in for a long game one. Lay the number with Toronto at home. |
|||||||
04-13-16 | Spurs v. Mavs -4.5 | Top | 96-91 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 60 m | Show |
Mavs The fast-charging Dallas Mavericks have clinched a playoff spot and will try to improve their seeding Wednesday when they host the San Antonio Spurs. Dallas has won seven of its last eight games and might avoid a first-round series with San Antonio if it can beat the Spurs in the season finale.The Mavericks, who have made the playoffs in 15 of the past 16 seasons, are tied for sixth place in the Western Conference after Memphis lost Tuesday and can finish as high as fifth depending on what happens on the final night of the season. San Antonio halted a season-worst three-game losing skid by posting a 102-98 overtime victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. Expect the Spurs to be resting multiple players with nothing on the line tonight. Spurs are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. |
|||||||
04-12-16 | Grizzlies v. Clippers -7.5 | Top | 84-110 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
Clippers The Memphis Grizzlies will try to emerge from a difficult stretch when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. The injury ravaged Grizzlies have lost eight of their last nine games to slip behind the fifth-place Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference playoff race. Los Angeles resides in the fourth spot and is playing terrific by winning five straight games and nine of its last 10. Power forward Blake Griffin is back in the mix and had 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in Sunday's 98-91 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Memphis is trying to regain the No. 5 spot from Portland but has been sabotaged by a plethora of injuries. The Pistons will be trying to avoid the No. 8 seed and a first-round date with the Cleveland Cavaliers when they host the Heat on Monday. Detroit is tied for the No. 7 spot with Indiana but lost the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Pacers and will need to finish a game ahead in order to get the No. 7 spot. Mavs Veteran guard J.J. Barea has fueled a five-game winning with his torrid play and the Dallas Mavericks look to move closer to clinching a playoff spot when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Barea has scored 20 or more points in four consecutive games for the first time in his 10-year NBA career and he is averaging 24.2 points during the five-game stretch.Barea was elevated to the starting role due to an injury to point guard Deron Williams (sports hernia) and he has helped Dallas move into seventh place in the Western Conference playoff race with just four games remaining. The Mavericks are also excelling on defense and have held each opponent under 90 points while allowing an average of 86 points during the five-game winning streak. Memphis has been ravaged by injuries and ended a six-game losing streak by beating the Chicago Bulls 108-92 on Tuesday to remain in a virtual tie for fifth place with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Mavericks are 31-9 at home against the Grizzlies, including a 97-88 victory on Dec. 18.Grizzlies are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Southwest.Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Western Conference. |

Celtics The battle for third place in the Eastern Conference promises to come down to the final days of the regular season, and the Boston Celtics intend to win that race. The Celtics will try to keep the pressure on Atlanta, Miami and Charlotte with a fourth consecutive win when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Boston is 26-12 at home and is aiming for homecourt advantage in the first round with the third or fourth seed in the East and will play Atlanta, Charlotte and Miami in the final three games of the regular season after playing the Bucks. So this game is an important win for the C’s. Bucks are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.Celtics are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 home games. |

04-08-16 | Heat +1 v. Magic | Top | 109-112 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 27 m | Show |
Heat The Miami Heat look to continue dominating the Sunshine State series when they visit the Orlando Magic on Friday in the first of a home-and-home. The Heat, who are in a four-way battle for third place in the Eastern Conference, have won four straight against Orlando – two this season by an average of nine points – and 14 of the last 15 encounters. The Magic have knocked off three teams who are in the fight for a playoff spot in the last few weeks, but coughed up a lead in the second half to drop a 108-104 decision against Detroit on Wednesday. Miami has won seven of its last 10 after a 106-98 triumph at home against Chicago on Thursday and is in a virtual tie with Boston for fourth place in the East – one game behind third-place Atlanta. Veteran Dwyane Wade has averaged 18.5 points in two games since returning from a back injury and scored 24 at Orlando earlier this season. 04-07-16 | Spurs v. Warriors -7 | Top | 101-112 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
Warriors If the Golden State Warriors want to break Chicago's single-season wins record of 72, they must win their final four games starting with Thursday night's showdown at home against San Antonio. The bigger priority down the stretch is securing the top seed in the Western Conference, which can be done with a combination of two Warriors wins or Spurs losses, and getting their game back in top form for the start of the postseason next week. The Warriors plan to go all out Thursday when they can clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory. This game is not as important for the Spurs. Spurs are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up win.Warriors are 25-10-1 ATS in their last 36 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games. |

04-06-16 | Hornets -5 v. Knicks | Top | 111-97 | Win | 100 | 6 h 0 m | Show |
Hornets The New York Knicks made a strong effort at playing spoiler on Sunday only to fall just short in a 92-87 loss to the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks will get another chance to throw a wrench into the Eastern Conference postseason seedings when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Sunday starters Carmelo Anthony (rest), Kristaps Porzingis (shoulder) and Jose Calderon (knee) all sat out. Porzingis, who has missed the last three games and maybe done for the season. The Hornets are hoping to turn their fortunes around and avoid a sweep on a three-game road trip after coming up short against the top two teams in the East – Cleveland and Toronto. The consecutive losses dropped Charlotte into sixth place in the East, one game behind Miami and Boston for fourth and 1 1/2 back of third-place Atlanta. Look for the Hornets to be hungry tonight in this spot. Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southeast.Hornets are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings in New York.

04-06-16 | Cavs v. Pacers -3 | Top | 109-123 | Win | 100 | 6 h 31 m | Show |
Pacers The Cleveland Cavaliers can clinch at least a tie for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Cleveland has won four straight games and holds a 3 1/2-game lead over the second-place Toronto Raptors with four games remaining so I don’t see any urgency for the Cavs tonight. Indiana, which has won its past two games, resides in seventh place in the East and is 2 1/2 games clear of the ninth-place Chicago Bulls. The Pacers are a half-game ahead of the eighth-place Detroit Pistons and would like to avoid facing the Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs. Cavaliers are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Central. Cavaliers are 0-4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Indiana. Pacers are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games playing on 2 days rest and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Central. |

The Trail Blazers are a half-game behind the fading Memphis Grizzlies and are playing their final road game against the Kings before finishing up with three at home. The Trail Blazers have dropped nine of their last 10 on the road but earned a 98-94 win at Sacramento without Lillard on Dec. 27.Cousins is not expected to play in any of the remaining road games for Sacramento and stayed back along with Rondo when the team went to Denver on Saturday. 04-05-16 | Spurs v. Jazz +3.5 | Top | 88-86 | Win | 100 | 8 h 34 m | Show |
Jazz Utah has won 10 of its last 13 games and is tied with the Dallas Mavericks for the final two playoff spots with the Houston Rockets lurking one game behind. The Jazz have a pivotal home game against Dallas on April 11 that could prove to be a huge factor in the race. San Antonio has won 11 of its past 13 games and is fine-tuning the rotation as its opens a three-game road trip. Power forward Derrick Favors returned from a one-game absence due to a knee injury to produce 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting in Sunday's 101-86 victory over the Phoenix Suns. Utah was pleased that Favors' absence was short-lived as he has emerged as a consistent force and has scored in double digits in 32 of the past 33 games. Favors is 15-of-22 shooting over his last two games to raise his season average to 51.6 percent. Spurs are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.Jazz are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.Home team is 34-16-1 ATS in the last 51 meetings. |

04-01-16 | Magic v. Bucks -2 | Top | 110-113 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
Bucks The Milwaukee Bucks have been a major disappointment after making the playoffs in 2014-15, but most of their troubles have occurred on the road. The Bucks, who snapped a five-game losing streak last time out, look to improve on a respectable 22-15 mark at home when they host the Orlando Magic on Friday in a battle of teams eliminated from the playoff chase. Orlando is just 12-26 on the road, For the Bucks Middleton rebounded from a three-game stretch in which he averaged just 10.7 points – 7.5 below his average – last time out and Jabari Parker is scoring 18.3 per contest over the last three outings. Not a good spot here for the Magic playing back-to-back games on the road. Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 vs. NBA Southeast. |

04-01-16 | Mavs v. Pistons -5.5 | Top | 98-89 | Loss | -103 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
Pistons Two teams fighting for position at the bottom of their respective conference’s playoff brackets square off when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Detroit Pistons on Friday. The Pistons are looking more and more like a team that has earned its spot and will go for their seventh win in eight games against the Mavericks.Detroit jumped into seventh place in the East with an 88-82 home win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday and goes into play on Thursday 2 1/2 games ahead of ninth-place Chicago. The Mavericks have dropped 10 of their last 14 games and needed to mount a late comeback to overcome the lowly New York Knicks on Wednesday.Mavericks F Dirk Nowitzki is 15-of-55 from the floor in the last three games. Detroit has seven games left in the regular season and embarks on a three-game road trip following Friday’s contest so I expect a full effort here. Pistons are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. |

03-31-16 | Celtics v. Blazers -3.5 | Top | 109-116 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
Blazers – 3.5 Boston can move into a virtual tie with the fourth-place Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference with a victory but a loss will prompt a drop behind the Charlotte Hornets into sixth place. The Celtics are 1-1 on a five-game West Coast swing after being routed 114-90 by the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Portland is in a tight race in the Western Conference and has a slight chance of chasing down the fifth-place Memphis Grizzlies, but a slump could lead to the Trail Blazers falling out of the race as ninth-place Dallas remains in close proximity. Trail Blazers are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 2 days rest and has won five straight home games and 14 of its last 16.Celtics are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. |

Rockets – 6.5 The Chicago Bulls kept their diminishing Eastern Conference playoff hopes alive with a tight victory on Tuesday but are still on the outside looking in. The Houston Rockets, who host the Bulls on Thursday, can relate to that plight as they struggle to hang with the pack in the battle for eighth place in the West. The Rockets overcame a 19-point halftime deficit and dominated the fourth quarter en route to a 106-100 win at Cleveland on Tuesday and will head into play on Wednesday a half-game in front of the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 8 spot in the West. Houston will play five of its final seven games at home, where it owns a 20-16 record. Bulls are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games playing on 1 days rest.Rockets are 50-22-3 ATS in their last 75 Thursday games.Home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. |

The Bucks will try to snap the slide when they host another team playing out the string in the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.Milwaukee is averaging 92.2 points in the last five games but coach Jason Kidd insists the team is still pushing forward. The Suns’ latest slide reached three in a row in a 121-116 setback at Minnesota on Monday. Suns are 9-22 ATS in their last 31 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. The Hawks will try to make it five in a row when they visit the team directly in front of them in the standings, the Toronto Raptors, on Wednesday. The Raptors were trounced 119-100 at home by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday and have dropped three of their last four with All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry ailing. Lowry had his inflamed right elbow drained after Monday’s loss and is shooting 26.2 percent from the field in his last four games. The Hawks are one game ahead of the fourth-place Miami Heat and 1 1/2 up on the fifth-place Boston Celtics after knocking off the Chicago Bulls 102-100 on Monday to pick up their 14th win in the last 17 games. Hawks are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games.Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. |

Cavs The Brooklyn Nets are not showing enough spirit for their interim coach as they play out the string of a losing season, and the Cleveland Cavaliers hope to take advantage. The Cavaliers, who visit the Nets on the second night of a back-to-back on Thursday, are trying to balance holding off the Toronto Raptors for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with getting their stars some rest before the playoffs. Cleveland (51-20) will look to build upon last night's 113-104 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at The Q.After dishing out 38 assists in Monday night’s win over the Denver Nuggets, the Cavaliers dished out 29 more against Milwaukee – moving the ball beautifully and holding off a stubborn Bucks team. The Cavs aims to duplicate last night's all-around team performance against a Nets squad they have beat six of the last seven games, including the last three at the Barclays Center. Cleveland took each of the previous two meetings this season, including a 91-78 win in Brooklyn on Jan. 20. The Heat gained sole possession of third place in the East by virtue of Boston's loss Wednesday and has won four in a row at home. The sixth-place Hornets kept pace with a 107-99 triumph over Orlando on Wednesday, pulling a game behind Miami and a half-game behind Boston while even with Atlanta.
