08-29-18 | Diamondbacks v. Giants +112 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 53 m | Show |
Giants The Arizona Diamondbacks' offense suddenly has evaporated, and so has the team's lead in the National League West. The Diamondbacks wrap up their three-game series against the host San Francisco Giants on Wednesday after suffering back-to-back shutout losses and have fallen into a first-place tie with Colorado. Arizona has dropped four of its last five contests, failed to score in its last 23 innings and managed just 11 hits while losing the first two games of the set by a cumulative 3-0 score. PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Zack Godley (13-7, 4.59 ERA) vs. Giants RH Dereck Rodriguez (6-1, 2.30) Godley gave up five runs and seven hits over five innings in a loss to Seattle in his last turn and has allowed 11 runs over 10 frames in his last two starts. The 28-year-old has fared well in his last seven outings on the road, going 5-0 with a 4.05 ERA. Godley has struggled against the Giants this season, going 1-2 with an 8.79 ERA in three starts, and is 2-3 with an 8.39 ERA in seven career appearances (five starts). Rodriguez has won five consecutive decisions and is in the mix for National League Rookie of the Year honors despite not reaching the majors until late May. The 26-year-old has allowed just 19 hits in 39 1/3 innings since the All-Star break while going 2-0 with a 1.60 ERA during that span. Rodriguez allowed six hits over 6 1/3 scoreless frames while defeating the Diamondbacks on June 30. Diamondbacks are 1-7 in their last 8 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game. Giants are 5-0 in Rodriguezs last 5 starts with 4 days of rest. Diamondbacks are 1-4 in their last 5 games with Johnson behind home plate. |

08-28-18 | Rockies -127 v. Angels | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Rockies The Colorado Rockies wasted an opportunity to grab a share of first place in the National League West but hope to receive another chance when they visit the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday for the finale of their two-game interleague set. Colorado remained one game behind division-leading Arizona after dropping a 10-7 decision in Monday's series opener. The Rockies also trail Milwaukee by 1 1/2 games for the second wild-card spot in the NL as they battled back from a 5-2 deficit with five consecutive runs before allowing five in the bottom of the eighth inning en route to their third loss in four contests. PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies LH Kyle Freeland (11-7, 2.96 ERA) vs. Angels RH Noe Ramirez (4-4, 4.69) Freeland makes his second attempt at a career-high 12th victory after settling for a no-decision against San Diego on Thursday despite allowing only two runs in 6 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old native of Denver also looks to even his record and lower his 3.58 ERA on the road, which is more than a full run higher than his mark at home (2.27). Freeland never has faced the Angels but is 5-0 with a 1.81 ERA in seven career interleague starts. Ramirez, who recorded his first career save by working a perfect inning on 11 pitches in the series opener, will make his first major-league start in the finale as the Angels go with the ever-popular "bullpen game" approach. The 28-year-old Californian has made 60 relief appearances this season and 103 overall since making his debut with Boston in 2015. Ramirez met the Rockies for the first time on May 8, when he yielded two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning at Colorado. Rockies are 6-1 in Freelands last 7 interleague starts. Angels are 1-6 in their last 7 overall. Rockies are 7-2 in their last 9 games with Hamari behind home plate. |

08-26-18 | Cardinals +1.5 v. Rockies | Top | 12-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 41 m | Show |
Cardinals The St. Louis Cardinals have been baseball's best team by a wide margin for the majority of August, but their red-hot ways came to an emphatic halt in one of their worst losses of the season on Saturday. The Cardinals look to make up for a rare poor performance and secure a ninth straight series victory Sunday, when they visit the Colorado Rockies for the rubber match of their three-game set. PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals LH Austin Gomber (3-0, 2.98 ERA) vs. Rockies LH Tyler Anderson (6-6, 4.45) Anderson lost his second consecutive start despite registering eight strikeouts against San Diego on Tuesday, giving up four runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings. The native of Las Vegas was pummeled for a career-high nine runs and seven hits - all for extra bases - in his previous turn at Houston on Aug. 15 and has surrendered five homers over his last two outings. Matt Carpenter (4-for-7) and Jedd Gyorko (3-for-5, home run) have fared well versus Anderson, who settled for a no-decision after permitting three runs in six frames at St. Louis on July 30. 08-22-18 | Indians -108 v. Red Sox | Top | 4-10 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
Indians Having flexed their muscles with wins in the first two games of the series, the Cleveland Indians send 15-game winner Carlos Carrasco to the mound against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night at Fenway Park. The Indians, who hit three home runs in coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win Monday night, hit two more Tuesday in the second game between the two division leaders, a 6-3 victory. Carrasco, 15-6 with a 3.33 ERA, faces left-hander Brian Johnson, who will try to help the Red Sox, losers of three games in three days, avoid what would be their first four-game losing streak of the season. Carrasco, who has forced his way into the Cy Young talk, has gone 7-1 in July and August and has thrown back-to-back seven-inning shutout efforts his last two times out. Johnson is 4-3 with a 4.00 ERA overall but is 3-0 as a starter in August, with the offense helping him out. He has yielded 17 hits and 12 earned runs in 17 2/3 innings in those starts but does have 19 strikeouts over that span. Indians are 36-16 in Carrascos last 52 road starts. Indians are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. |

08-21-18 | Phillies v. Nationals -131 | Top | 4-10 | Win | 100 | 10 h 60 m | Show |
Nationals The Philadelphia Phillies have been one of baseball's feel-good stories this season, although the good vibes have soured a bit with losses in seven of their last 11 contests. The Phillies (68-56) aim to get back on track Tuesday as they begin a six-game road trip with the opener of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals (62-63). PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Vince Velasquez (8-9, 4.13 ERA) vs. Nationals RH Tanner Roark (8-12, 4.13) Velasquez turned in scoreless outings in four of five trips to the mound before struggling in back-to-back starts, including a three-run, four-walk performance in 2 1/3 innings of a no-decision versus Boston on Wednesday. The 26-year-old overcame another four-walk effort to allow one run on one hit in five frames of a 3-1 triumph at Washington on May 5. Wilmer Difo belted a solo homer in that contest and is 2-for-4 in a small sample size versus Velasquez, who owns a 2-2 mark with a 5.28 ERA in six career outings against the Nationals. Roark has changed the narrative on what has been a disastrous season by going 5-0 with a 1.77 ERA since the All-Star break. The 31-year-old has permitted seven earned runs and 28 hits during that stretch (35 2/3 innings), with three and five, respectively, coming in a 5-4 victory at St. Louis on Thursday. A’s The Oakland Athletics have erased a 12-game deficit in a two-month span and can take over first place in the American League West when they finish a three-game series with the visiting Houston Astros on Sunday. With an extra-inning triumph in the series opener and a 7-1 win Saturday, the Athletics improved to 40-13 since the middle of June to tie the defending champs atop the division. Matt Olson delivered the walk-off homer Friday and had two hits, two runs and an RBI to pace an 11-hit attack Saturday. Trevor Cahill yielded one hit in seven scoreless frames for Oakland as the club cut its ERA since the All-Star break to 2.90, tops in the majors in that span. Sean Manaea will try to keep that run going as he opposes Astros right-hander Justin Verlander, who will be making his third attempt at career win No. 200. The Pirates will try to get started on taking a quick series when they visit the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday in the opener of a two-game interleague set. 08-10-18 | Diamondbacks -123 v. Reds | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -123 | 4 h 10 m | Show |
Diamondbacks David Peralta has turned it on since the calendar shifted to August, going a sizzling 18-for-33 with seven extra-base hits (three doubles, triple, three homers). Peralta aims to continue his sterling performance at the plate on Friday as the Arizona Diamondbacks (64-52) begin a nine-game road trip with the first of three contests against the Cincinnati Reds (50-65). Peralta recorded his third four-hit performance of the month in Wednesday's 6-0 romp over Philadelphia while scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs to boot. The 30-year-old Venezuelan aims to keep it going versus Friday starter Anthony DeSclafani, against whom he is 3-for-6 with a double in his career. While Arizona won two of three versus Cincinnati in late May and eight of its last 12 overall, the Reds completed a dismal 2-7 road trip with a thud after an 8-0 setback at the New York Mets on Wednesday afternoon. PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Clay Buchholz (5-1, 2.68 ERA) vs. Reds RH Anthony DeSclafani (5-3, 4.98) Buchholz won his fourth straight start on Saturday after allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings of a 9-3 victory versus San Francisco. Mets The New York Mets begin an unconventional 10-day, 11-game, five-city road trip on Friday when they play the opener of a three-game series against the Miami Marlins (47-69). The Mets (47-65) will play sets against last-place teams Miami and Baltimore, a one-game makeup tilt versus the New York Yankees as well as a five-game series at National League East-leading Philadelphia. While the Mets have shown a bit of optimism by winning three of their last five, the Marlins have lost eight of nine to find themselves occupying the cellar in the division. PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Zack Wheeler (6-6, 3.89 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Jose Urena (3-11, 4.66) Wheeler won his career-high fourth straight start on Saturday after recording his second consecutive scoreless outing. The 28-year-old scattered three hits and struck out a season high-tying nine batters in a 3-0 victory versus Atlanta to run his scoreless innings streak to 17. Wheeler, who has kept the ball in the park in each of his last three trips to the mound (20 innings), has yielded just four runs on nine hits with 16 strikeouts en route to splitting a pair of encounters with the Marlins. Urena yielded three homers and six runs total over five innings in an 8-3 setback at Philadelphia in his last outing. The 26-year-old Dominican has allowed at least five runs in three of his last four starts, with 12 walks in that span driving up his pitch count. Urena kept the ball in the park and only issued one free pass in his lone encounter with the Mets this season, although it ended up in a loss after he permitted three runs on five hits in as many innings of a 4-2 setback on April 9. |

08-09-18 | Braves +110 v. Nationals | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 58 m | Show |
Braves Ronald Acuna arrived in the majors as one of the most heralded prospects in recent memory, and the Atlanta Braves outfielder enters Thursday’s series finale at the Washington Nationals off the biggest performance of his young big-league career. Acuna displayed the tools that made scouts salivate in Wednesday’s 8-3 victory, outrunning a pickoff throw for a stolen base, belting a 452-foot homer and snagging Matt Adams’ would-be homer at the top of the center field fence. PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Anibal Sanchez (6-3, 2.89 ERA) vs. Nationals LH Gio Gonzalez (6-8, 4.04) Sanchez is one of the reasons the Braves are contending for a playoff spot, considering the spring-training signee enters Thursday with the lowest WHIP (1.06) and third-lowest ERA of his 13-year career. The 34-year-old held the New York Mets to one run on two hits over six innings Friday with a season-high nine strikeouts - the sixth-consecutive start he has worked at least six frames. Sanchez is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in three appearances (two starts) against the Nationals in 2018. Gonzalez, a steady piece of the Nationals rotation since 2012, has struggled mightily since beginning the season 6-2. The 32-year-old is winless in his past 11 starts, posting a 6.37 ERA with nine homers allowed in 53 2/3 innings, and opponents are hitting .303 with a .871 OPS in that span. Gonzalez is 5-11 with a 5.04 ERA lifetime against the Braves and gave up three runs with nine strikeouts over seven innings in his lone appearance against Atlanta this season. After scoring eight runs in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, the Nationals are 1-for-21 with runners in scoring position the past two games with 18 runners left on base. Willy Adames belted a walk-off homer with two outs in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 4-3 win for the Rays (57-56), who improved to 4-3 on their current nine-game stretch at Tropicana Field. PITCHING MATCHUP: Orioles RH Andrew Cashner (3-10, 5.05 ERA) vs. Rays RH Ryne Stanek (1-3, 2.27) Cashner answered two strong starts with a disastrous one on Thursday, as he allowed a career-high 10 runs and three walks in a season-low 1 2/3 innings of a 17-8 setback at Texas. The 31-year-old split a pair of decisions versus Tampa Bay this season, highlighted by tossing six strong frames in a 15-5 win on July 27. Carlos Gomez is just 1-for-7 versus Cashner, although C.J. Cron is 3-for-4 in a small sample size against the hurler. Stanek struck out all five batters he faced on Friday as he recorded his seventh scoreless performance in his last eight outings in a no-decision versus the Chicago White Sox. The 27-year-old hasn't been as fortunate in his four meetings with Baltimore this season, surrendering three homers and four runs total over 5 2/3 frames. Over is 8-1 in Orioles last 9 games vs. a right-handed starter. Over is 10-4 in Rays last 14 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. 08-07-18 | Dodgers -109 v. A's | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 22 m | Show |
Dodgers The Oakland Athletics are the hottest team in baseball as they make a surprising run at the Houston Astros atop the American League West. The Athletics will try to stay perfect on the homestand and stretch their winning streak to seven straight when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of a two-game interleague series on Tuesday. PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Rich Hill (4-4, 3.63 ERA) vs. Athletics LH Sean Manaea (10-7, 3.38) Hill is thriving since the All-Star break with a total of two earned runs allowed in 19 innings spread over three starts. The 38-year-old added 21 strikeouts in that span and won the first two starts before settling for a no-decision against Milwaukee on Wednesday. Hill, who posted a 2.25 ERA in 14 starts for Oakland in 2016 before being traded to Los Angeles, is 2-1 with a 3.09 ERA in seven road starts this season. Manaea allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last 11 starts and earned a win over Toronto on Wednesday by yielding one run and five hits across six innings. The 26-year-old is holding opponents to a .220 batting average and is fifth in the AL with a 1.01 WHIP. Manaea surrendered solo home runs to Chris Taylor and Corey Seager in five innings at Los Angeles on April 10 and was saddled with a loss. Dodgers are 8-1 in their last 9 games following an off day. 08-01-18 | Cubs -125 v. Pirates | Top | 9-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
Cubs The Pittsburgh Pirates made a big splash at the trading deadline in hopes of making more waves in the National League Central race. The Pirates will try to trim another game off their deficit when they wrap up a brief two-game set against the visiting Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Pittsburgh held on for a 5-4 win in the series opener Tuesday, as Francisco Cervelli and Gregory Polanco homered and Chicago’s Addison Russell was thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple with no outs in the ninth. Veteran left-hander Cole Hamels will make his Cubs debut and look to build on a solid record at PNC Park, where he is 1-1 with a 1.22 ERA in five career starts. Hamels is 3-3 with a 2.93 ERA in 10 starts against the Pirates, but he hasn’t faced them since 2016. Kingham had his three-start winning streak snapped Thursday against the New York Mets, who tagged him for six runs over three-plus innings. The 26-year-old rookie struggled with his command last time out, issuing a season-high four walks and working behind in the count throughout the brief outing. 07-27-18 | Dodgers -147 v. Braves | Top | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
Dodgers The Los Angeles Dodgers have relied on home runs to help them reach the top of the National League West, and they received one from their newest acquisition in the series opener to give them a boost entering Friday’s contest against the host Atlanta Braves. Manny Machado, who was obtained from Baltimore during the All-Star break, belted his first homer in a Dodgers uniform during Thursday’s 8-2 victory, a solo shot that increased Los Angeles’ league-leading total of 140 blasts. PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Clayton Kershaw (3-5, 2.64 ERA) vs. Braves RH Mike Foltynewicz (7-6, 2.85) The biggest challenge this season for Kershaw is staying on the field, as left biceps tendinitis and a lower back strain cost him seven weeks. The 30-year-old has excelled since returning from the disabled list on June 23, going 2-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 30 strikeouts in six starts, with the loss coming when he allowed four runs - one earned - over six innings Saturday against Milwaukee. Kershaw, who owns a 1.09 WHIP and a 4.88 strikeouts-to-walks ratio, is 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA in nine career turns against Atlanta. Foltynewicz has pitched well for the Braves this season but looks to snap out of a mini-skid, as he has posted a 6.87 ERA over 18 1/3 innings in losing two of his last three starts. The 26-year-old earned his first career All-Star selection but scuffled in his first start after the break, giving up four runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 frames of a loss at Washington on Sunday. Dodgers are 16-5 in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning record and are 15-5 in their last 20 road games vs. a right-handed starter.Braves are 0-4 in Foltynewiczs last 4 starts vs. National League West and are 2-8 in their last 10 vs. a team with a winning record.

Phillies/Reds over 9 Philadelphia slugger Rhys Hoskins looks to continue his impressive power display when the Phillies host the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in the second contest of a four-game set. Hoskins went deep twice in Thursday's 9-4 victory over the Reds and has launched six shots over the past six games. The splurge has increased Hoskins' output to 20 homers and 67 RBIs as he thrives in his first full major-league campaign. Third baseman Maikel Franco and right fielder Nick Williams also smacked two homers apiece in the opener, and the Phillies tied a franchise record with seven overall blasts while winning its third straight and for the fifth time in their past seven outings. Cincinnati has its own lava-hot player in third baseman Eugenio Suarez, who has homered in four consecutive games and will be attempting to match the franchise mark held by Jay Bruce (2016). The Reds have dropped six of their last eight contests and allowed 46 runs in the six setbacks. PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Nick Pivetta (6-8, 4.69 ERA) vs. Reds RH Anthony DeSclafani (4-3, 5.40) Pivetta lost to San Diego on Sunday despite striking out nine in 5 1/3 innings as he gave up six runs (four earned) and eight hits. The 28-year-old served up two homers in each of the setbacks and has allowed 14 in just 48 1/3 innings over nine starts. 07-25-18 | A's -115 v. Rangers | Top | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show |
A’s The Oakland Athletics have taken advantage of a battered pitching staff in their previous two games to extend their winning streak and increase their major-league lead in homers on the road. Oakland seeks its fifth consecutive victory when it visits the Texas Rangers on Wednesday for the third contest of their four-game series. The Athletics have scored a total of 28 runs in winning the first two contests of the set and rallied from an eight-run deficit on Tuesday, scoring 11 unanswered runs over their final four frames to post a 13-10 win in 10 innings. PITCHING MATCHUP: Athletics RH Edwin Jackson (1-2, 2.93 ERA) vs. Rangers LH Martin Perez (2-4, 8.05) Jackson is coming off his second straight loss, both of which came against San Francisco. The 34-year-old journeyman allowed more than two earned runs for the first time on Friday, yielding three along with four hits over 6 1/3 innings at home, but still registered a quality start. Jackson owns a 2-3 record with one shutout and a 4.02 ERA in seven career starts against the Rangers. After returning from a 2 1/2-month layoff due to an injury to his non-throwing elbow on July 14 with a superb performance in a hard-luck loss at Baltimore, Perez was battered by Cleveland for six runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings but escaped with a no-decision. The 27-year-old Venezuelan has been pounded in two of his three turns at home this year, surrendering 14 runs on 19 hits and six walks over 8 1/3 frames in those outings. Despite yielding 10 hits for the first of three times in his seven turns in 2018, Perez improved to 8-7 with a 5.23 ERA in 17 career starts against the Athletics on April 5, when he limited the damage to three runs over 5 1/3 innings in his season debut. Athletics are 26-10 in their last 36 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Rangers are 13-32 in their last 45 home games vs. a right-handed starter. 07-25-18 | Nationals v. Brewers -123 | Top | 7-3 | Loss | -123 | 4 h 58 m | Show |
Brewers The Milwaukee Brewers welcomed two important players back to the lineup and may have received the spark they needed with a 5-4, 10-inning victory on Tuesday to clinch the series win against the struggling Washington Nationals. The Brewers look to complete the sweep and solidify their National League wild-card spot when they host the Nationals for the finale on Wednesday afternoon. Eric Thames notched an RBI in his return from the disabled list and All-Star Jesus Aguilar (hamstring) was back from a two-game absence while Christian Yelich extended his hitting streak to eight games, a stretch during which he is 17-for-33 with eight RBIs. Rookie Freddy Peralta will try to help the Brewers finish the sweep on Wednesday while Washington hopes to begin turning around its fortunes with Tanner Roark on the mound. The Nationals have dropped five of their last seven contests as they fade further out of contention in the NL East and wild-card races. PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Tanner Roark (3-12, 4.87 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Freddy Peralta (4-1, 2.65) Roark has recorded just one victory since the beginning of May and is 0-3 with a 9.56 ERA while allowing 28 hits over 16 innings in three starts this month. The 31-year-old Illinois product gave up four runs on eight hits and two walks over five frames in a loss to the New York Mets in his last outing. Brad Miller is 5-for-6 with a pair of doubles against Roark. Peralta looks to rebound from his shortest appearance in the majors last time out at Miami, where he was touched for three runs in 3 2/3 innings. The 22-year-old Dominican had posted three quality starts in his previous four outings, with three wins and a loss in which he gave up three runs over five frames. Peralta has been dominant in his first two starts at home this season, going 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 13 innings. Nationals are 0-6 in Roarks last 6 starts on grass. Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 home games. |

Giants The surging Chicago Cubs head west for the week with first place in the National League Central within reach. The Cubs kick off a six-game West Coast trip that will take them into the All-Star break when they begin a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Monday. PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Kyle Hendricks (5-8, 4.27 ERA) vs. Giants LH Andrew Suarez (3-5, 3.92) Hendricks has lost five of his last six decisions and posted a 6.29 ERA over his last seven outings. The 28-year-old relies on pinpoint command and has struggled to locate his pitches recently, issuing 18 walks in five turns last month before limiting the number to one free pass over five innings in a no-decision against Detroit on Tuesday. Hendricks is 3-2 with a 3.06 ERA in six career starts versus San Francisco. Suarez has posted a 2.10 ERA over his last five starts, allowing fewer than three runs in each, but has recorded only one win over that stretch. The 25-year-old rookie struck out six and gave up one run over seven frames Wednesday at Colorado but was on the wrong end of a 1-0 decision. Suarez is 1-2 with a 3.13 ERA in six home starts. Cubs are 1-4 in Hendricks' last 5 road starts. Giants are 13-3 in their last 16 home games vs. a right-handed starter. |

Dodgers While the beginning of the Los Angeles Dodgers' rebound from a 16-26 start coincides almost perfectly with the return of Justin Turner to the lineup, he hasn't been a huge part of their resurgence. The 2017 All-Star delivered a key hit in Saturday's victory, however, and he'll try to be an important part of what the Dodgers hope is their sixth win in seven tries Sunday when they visit the Los Angeles Angels in the rubber match of their three-game series. PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Alex Wood (5-5, 3.84 ERA) vs. Angels LH Andrew Heaney (4-6, 3.94) Dodgers are 8-1 in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and are 6-1 in their last 7 interleague games vs. a left-handed starter. 07-07-18 | Yankees -1.5 v. Blue Jays | Top | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 44 m | Show |
Yankees (run-line) Luis Severino has emerged as a bona fide ace for the New York Yankees, leading the major leagues in wins and looking like the starter for the American League in the All-Star Game. Severino could be facing a future teammate in his next start when the Yankees resume their three-game series at the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon. Severino, who will match his career-high win total with his next victory, is 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA versus the Blue Jays this season, allowing one run and four hits over 12 2/3 innings. He will be opposed by left-hander J.A. Happ, a 10-game winner for Toronto who has been the subject of rampant trade speculation -- with New York considered among the top suitors. PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Luis Severino (13-2, 1.98 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH J.A. Happ (10-4, 4.03) Happ had his six-game winning streak halted by Detroit on Sunday, getting tagged for seven runs and 10 hits to absorb his first defeat since May 10. He has surrendered four of his 14 homers in his last three turns and also yielded a two-run shot to Giancarlo Stanton in an Opening Day loss to New York. Yankees are 22-6 in their last 28 games vs. a left-handed starter and are 12-1 in Severinos last 13 starts vs. a team with a losing record. Blue Jays are 2-7 in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Yankees are 4-0 in their last 4 games with Barrett behind home plate. |

07-07-18 | Phillies +117 v. Pirates | Top | 3-2 | Win | 117 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
Phillies The Philadelphia Phillies have surged into a tie for the lead in the National League East, and if their performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates continues, they’ll have a chance to keep climbing this weekend. The Phillies aim for a sixth straight victory when they visit the Pirates for the middle contest of their three-game series on Saturday. The Phillies have won five in a row and seven of their last eight after rolling to a 17-5 rout in the series opener, pulling into a tie with Atlanta atop the division. After leaning on dominant pitching for its previous four victories, Philadelphia collected 18 hits in Friday’s rout. Pittsburgh has lost four straight as its pitching staff has been beaten up, allowing 48 runs - and 12 homers - during the skid. The Phillies have won all five meetings with the Pirates this season, outscoring them 35-10. PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Jake Arrieta (5-6, 3.54 ERA) vs. Pirates RH Jameson Taillon (5-6, 4.05) Arrieta is winless in his last six turns, recording only one quality start over that stretch. The 32-year-old pitched better last time out, allowing three runs - two earned - over five innings in a no-decision against Washington. Arrieta is 11-6 with a 3.01 ERA in 21 career starts against the Pirates, including a victory on April 19 in which he struck out 10 and allowed one hit over seven scoreless frames. Taillon was excellent in June, going 3-2 with a 2.90 ERA, but he didn’t have his best stuff in his first outing of July. The 26-year-old allowed four runs - three earned - over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision at San Diego on Sunday. Taillon gave up five runs in 1 2/3 frames at Philadelphia on April 19, falling to 1-1 with a 5.68 ERA in three career starts against the Phillies. Phillies are 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Reds The Cincinnati Reds have brought out their best when they face the Chicago Cubs, and they’ll try to continue their dominance in the season series when the teams square off Saturday afternoon in the middle contest of their three-game series at Wrigley Field. Cincinnati took the opener 3-2 on Friday, improving to 7-3 against the Cubs this campaign. The Reds have won five straight against Chicago for the first time since 2014, and though they remain in last place in the National League Central, they’ve won 14 of their last 18 overall. The loss snapped the Cubs’ season-high six-game winning streak, as well as their string of seven straight home victories. After scoring 56 runs during the six consecutive triumphs, Chicago went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base Friday. The offensive woes are nothing new for the Cubs against the Reds, as they’ve scored three or fewer runs in five of their 10 meetings. PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Matt Harvey (4-5, 4.91 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Tyler Chatwood (3-5, 4.54) Harvey is showing signs of regaining the form he showed early in his career, as he has allowed three runs over 18 1/3 innings while recording three straight wins. The 29-year-old dominated first-place Milwaukee last time out, striking out six and allowing two hits over 5 2/3 scoreless frames. Harvey beat the Cubs on June 21, improving to 2-1 with a 4.23 ERA in five career starts against Chicago. Chatwood endured a rocky outing in his first start since coming off the paternity list, as he allowed seven runs over five innings in a no-decision against Minnesota. The 28-year-old issued three walks, running his major league-high total to 66 in 73 1/3 frames. Chatwood is 0-4 with a 4.18 ERA in five career starts against the Reds. Reds are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. National League Central. Cubs are 0-6 in their last 6 vs. National League Central. Reds are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings. |

Diamondbacks Flipping the calendar has done nothing to slow down Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who was named the National League Player of the Month for June after hitting .364 with eight multihit games. The five-time All-Star looks to maintain his torrid pace Wednesday when the Diamondbacks face the visiting St. Louis Cardinals in the rubber match of their three-game series. Goldschmidt is hitting .413 with 11 homers and 28 RBIs over his past 26 games, including a three-run blast in Tuesday’s 4-2 victory. Closer Brad Boxberger pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 20th save in 24 chances for the Diamondbacks, who snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 22-12 since May 28. 06-30-18 | Angels -141 v. Orioles | Top | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 4 h 33 m | Show |
Angels Former MVP Mike Trout helped his team snap a demoralizing six-game losing streak in the series opener, and the Los Angeles Angels look to build off that effort when they visit the major league-worst Baltimore Orioles on Saturday afternoon. Trout, who returned to center field Friday after being relegated to designated hitter duties by a sprained finger for more than a week, homered and scored twice in the 7-1 victory for the Angels. PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Tyler Skaggs (6-5, 2.69 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Andrew Cashner (2-8, 4.70) Skaggs has been outstanding in each of his last four starts, including Monday when he gave up one run over seven innings despite taking the loss at Kansas City. The 26-year-old, who owns 94 strikeouts across 87 innings, won his previous three starts while yielding a total of three runs (one earned) on 16 hits over 20 innings combined. Danny Valencia is 0-for-3 with two walks against Skaggs, who pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in his only previous meeting with the Orioles in 2014. Cashner has posted three quality starts in his last four outings but is winless over his past five trips to the mound. The 31-year-old TCU product, who has served up 14 homers in 15 starts, has allowed nine runs on 25 hits and seven walks over 22 innings in his past four appearances. Andrelton Simmons (4-for-10) and Luis Valbuena (3-for-8, homer, five RBIs) have performed well versus Cashner, who is 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA in five career outings (two starts) against the Angels. Angels are 8-1 in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and are 7-3 in Skaggs' last 10 road starts. Indians (run line) Cleveland and Oakland each have 44 wins, but while the Indians are holding a comfortable eight-game lead atop the American League Central, the Athletics are sitting seven games back of the second wild card. Both teams are on a roll, though, winning eight of their last 10 as they prepare to kick off a three-game series in Oakland on Friday. PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Trevor Bauer (7-5, 2.44 ERA) vs. Athletics RH Paul Blackburn (1-2, 8.83) Bauer is coming off a superb performance against Detroit on Saturday, striking out 11 while giving up one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. It marked the sixth time in his last eight outings that he has registered double-digit strikeouts and his sixth quality start in that span. Blackburn has been wildly erratic in his four starts this season, following up his two strong outings with a pair of duds. After limiting San Diego to two runs and four hits over five innings on June 19, he was pounded for six runs and eight hits over five innings in a loss at the Chicago White Sox last time out. Yankees The Boston Red Sox will take a one-game lead in the American League East into a much-anticipated three-game series with the host New York Yankees that begins on Friday. The Red Sox belted nine home runs while sweeping a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, which was capped by Thursday's 4-2 triumph that completed a 5-1 homestand. Boston has split its first six games with the rival Yankees as the teams have spent every day since the beginning of May within 2 1/2 games of one another atop the division. The Yankees were blanked twice during a 2-4 road trip that concluded with a 3-0 setback in the finale of a three-game interleague series in Philadelphia. Slugger Aaron Judge was given the day off and should be well-rested as he looks to continue his assault on the Red Sox, against whom he is 11-for-21 with two homers this year. PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Eduardo Rodriguez (9-2, 3.86 ERA) vs. Yankees LH CC Sabathia (4-3, 3.18) Rodriguez's six-game winning streak came to an end with a clunker against Seattle at home on Sunday, when he was reached for five runs - four earned - in four innings. Sabathia has dropped back-to-back starts for only the second time since the beginning of the 2017 season, although he has let up just four earned runs in 13 innings during the stretch. The 37-year-old worked a season low-tying four frames opposite Rodriguez on May 10 as he gave up four runs and nine hits. Mookie Betts is 10-for-24 with four walks against Sabathia, who owns a 2.74 ERA in eight home starts this year. New York's bullpen has posted a 0.90 ERA this month while allowing 38 hits in 80 innings. Red Sox are 2-6 in their last 8 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Phillies The Washington Nationals enjoyed a late offensive uprising to rally for a victory in the finale of last weekend's series against the Philadelphia Phillies. After getting shut out in both contests of an abbreviated two-game interleague set versus Tampa Bay, the Nationals (41-37) look to ignite their offense on Thursday in the opener of a four-game series against the host Phillies (42-36). While the Nationals have won just three of the last 12 contests, the Phillies snapped a three-game skid by salvaging the finale of a three-game interleague series versus the New York Yankees with a 3-0 triumph on Wednesday. PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Tanner Roark (3-8, 4.27 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Aaron Nola (9-2, 2.58) Roark was roasted by Philadelphia on Friday as he allowed six runs and walked four batters over 4 1/3 innings of a 12-2 setback. Odubel Herrera is 15-for-34 with six extra-base hits versus Roark. Nola will look to defeat Washington for the second straight start and continue his success at Citizens Bank Park, where he is 6-0 with a 1.86 ERA in seven starts this season The 25-year-old overcame a two-run first inning to blank the Nationals over his next five frames en route to a 5-3 triumph on Saturday. Nationals are 1-7 in Roarks last 8 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Phillies are 10-2 in Nolas last 12 starts. |

06-27-18 | Indians v. Cardinals -113 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
Cardinals Matt Carpenter looks to cap off a red-hot series with the bat when his St. Louis Cardinals go after a three-game sweep of the American League Central-leading Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night. Carpenter had five hits in Tuesday’s 11-2 victory and is 8-for-9 in the series with six runs scored, two homers, two doubles and three RBIs to raise his batting average from .237 to .259. The Cardinals have won four straight while outscoring opponents 26-6 and creeping within four contests of first place Milwaukee in the National League Central with help from Marcell Ozuna, who is 8-for-18 during a five-game hitting streak. PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Shane Bieber (2-0, 2.45 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Jack Flaherty (3-2, 2.50) Bieber was outstanding in his third major-league start last Friday, allowing four hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts against Detroit in a 10-0 victory. The 23-year-old California native boasts 22 strikeouts and just three walks across 18 1/3 innings with the Indians, but has yielded a total of 22 hits. Flaherty has permitted one run or fewer in six of his last eight starts, including a no-decision last Friday at Milwaukee when he pitched 6 1/3 no-hit innings before surrendering Jesus Aguilar's homer for his lone run and hit allowed while striking out a career high-tying 13 in seven frames. The 22-year-old California native gave up two runs on six hits and six walks across 18 1/3 innings while managing just one victory. Flaherty has made one interleague start in his career, holding Minnesota to one run on five hits over 5 2/3 innings May 15 in a no-decision. Indians are 2-7 in their last 9 interleague road games vs. a right-handed starter. Cardinals are 6-2 in their last 8 interleague games vs. a team with a winning record. Home team is 13-5 in Vanovers last 18 games behind home plate. |

06-27-18 | Diamondbacks -161 v. Marlins | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
Diamondbacks The National League West-leading Arizona Diamondbacks look to continue their hot streak on the road when they visit the improving Miami Marlins for the third of a four-game series Wednesday night. John Ryan Murphy knocked in three runs Tuesday as the Diamondbacks earned a 5-3 victory - their ninth in the last 11 contests away from home after starting the season 13-16 on the road. PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks LH Robbie Ray (2-0, 4.88 ERA) vs. Marlins LH Wei-Yin Chen (2-4, 6.70) Ray returns to the rotation, following a pair of minor-league rehab outings, after missing almost two months with an oblique injury. The 26-year-old Tennessee native, who completed six innings only twice in his first six starts, gave up three earned runs and eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in the two rehab outings. Cameron Maybin is 2-for-2 with a walk and a pair of RBIs versus Ray, who is 1-2 with a 3.06 ERA in three career starts against Miami. Chen followed up his second victory of the season with a rough outing, allowing seven runs on nine hits over four innings to lose at Colorado on June 22. The 32-year-old Taiwan native had beaten Baltimore six days earlier with six innings of three-run ball after suffering through an eight-game winless streak. Murphy is 3-for-9 with a homer against Chen, who has pitched one scoreless frame with one strikeout in his career against the Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks are 17-4 in Rays last 21 starts vs. a team with a losing record. Marlins are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. 06-26-18 | Cubs +147 v. Dodgers | Top | 9-4 | Win | 147 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
Cubs The Los Angeles Dodgers have been on a roll since losing the final two contests of a three-game set in the Windy City last week and look to keep it going when they continue their four-game set against the visiting Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. After totaling one run in back-to-back losses at Chicago, the Dodgers have won four straight - including a 2-1 triumph in the series opener. PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs LH Jon Lester (9-2, 2.10 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Ross Stripling (6-2, 1.99) Lester is hoping to produce a repeat performance after limiting the Dodgers to five hits over seven scoreless innings in a victory on Wednesday. The 34-year-old native of Washington has won five consecutive starts and seven of his last eight decisions, with the only loss being a seven-frame effort against Cleveland on May 23 in which he gave up just one run. With his latest triumph, Lester evened his record at 3-3 with one complete game and a 3.33 ERA in eight career starts versus Los Angeles. Stripling has revenge on his mind as he took the loss opposite Lester on Wednesday after yielding three runs and eight hits over six innings. The 28-year-old Pennsylvanian had won six straight starts and gone unbeaten in his previous nine turns before falling in Chicago. Stripling, who made three relief appearances against the Cubs prior to Wednesday's start, is 4-0 with a 1.82 ERA in 10 games (five starts) at home this season. Cubs are 24-6 in Lesters last 30 starts after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game. Dodgers are 1-6 in Striplings last 7 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Road team is 9-2 in Millers last 11 Tuesday games behind home plate. |

06-19-18 | Braves +102 v. Blue Jays | Top | 11-4 | Win | 102 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Braves The Toronto Blue Jays spent the weekend sweeping three contests from defending National League East champion Washington, and Tuesday take their shot at the current division leader when the Atlanta Braves arrive to open a two-game series. Right fielder Randal Grichuk stayed hot in Sunday’s 8-6 victory, belting a pair of solo homers to raise his average to .326 with five homers and 13 RBIs since returning June 1 from a sprained ligament in his right knee. The Blue Jays have averaged 10.3 hits in winning seven of their past 10 games, scoring five or more runs five times and slugging eight homers in the sweep of Washington. They will encounter one of the hottest pitching staffs in the majors this week as Atlanta completed a 5-1 homestand with a 4-1 victory over San Diego on Sunday, pushing its division lead to a season-high 3 ½ games. Braves starters are 29-16 with a 3.24 ERA and 1.23 WHIP this season, and in their past six games Atlanta starters have posted a 2.17 ERA with 58 strikeouts and 37 hits allowed in 54 innings. Tuesday’s series opener will hold extra meaning for Braves starter Mike Soroka, as the 20-year-old from Calgary pitches in his native country for the first time as a big leaguer. PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Mike Soroka (2-1, 2.57 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH Jaime Garcia (2-5, 5.71) Soroka showed no rust coming off the disabled list Wednesday for his first start since May 12, carrying a no-hitter through six innings before leaving with one hit allowed and one walk over 6 1/3 innings to beat the New York Mets. Making his fifth major-league start in the series opener, Soroka has walked one hitter or fewer while striking out four or more in three of his first four appearances. Soroka made two minor-league starts while recovering from a right shoulder strain, giving up one run with 10 strikeouts. Garcia has battled inconsistency since going 2-2 across his first five starts, allowing four runs or more four times while giving up just one earned run in his other three outings. The 31-year-old lost his fifth straight decision Tuesday at Tampa Bay, allowing four runs with four walks and four strikeouts in five innings. Garcia, who went 4-7 with a 4.30 ERA in 18 starts with the Braves a season ago before being dealt to Minnesota. Braves are 5-0 in their last 5 interleague road games vs. a team with a losing record. Blue Jays are 1-4 in Garcias last 5 starts. |

06-14-18 | Rays +154 v. Yankees | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
Rays The Tampa Bay Rays face quite the litmus test as they embark on a 16-game stretch in which they play only the New York Yankees, Houston and Washington. The Rays (32-35), who own a lackluster 11-26 mark against winning teams this season, open that imposing stretch on the road Thursday with the first of four games versus the New York Yankees (43-20). "We're going to really see what kind of team we have here against the best in the league," said Thursday starter Blake Snell, who owns a 3-0 mark with a rail-thin 0.38 ERA in his past four outings. PITCHING MATCHUP: Rays LH Blake Snell (8-3, 2.30 ERA) vs. Yankees RH Domingo German (0-4, 5.32) Snell matched a career high by winning his fourth consecutive decision on Saturday after allowing two runs (one earned) on a season-high seven hits in six innings of a 7-3 victory versus Seattle. The 25-year-old struck out two in that contest after fanning his first seven batters to begin his previous start en route to a 12-strikeout performance. Gary Sanchez is 4-for-10 with three homers against Snell, although the left-hander has flustered Aaron Judge (0-for-6) and Aaron Hicks (0-for-6). German overcame two homers to strike out nine over six innings in a no-decision against the New York Mets on Saturday. The 25-year-old Dominican didn't walk a batter for the first time since a three-inning effort at Boston on April 12. German will be making his 19th appearance (seventh start) on Thursday by facing the Yankees for the first time in his career. Rays are 5-0 in their last 5 vs. American League East. |

06-13-18 | Mets -112 v. Braves | Top | 0-2 | Loss | -112 | 1 h 38 m | Show |
Mets The Atlanta Braves have held at least a share of first place in the National League East for all but two days since May 2, and they’ll try to stay there when they host the New York Mets for the finale of a two-game series Wednesday. The Braves began a 14-game stretch against teams with losing records with Tuesday’s 8-2 rout of the Mets, improving to 8-3 against New York this season. PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Jacob deGrom (4-1, 1.57 ERA) vs. Braves RH Mike Soroka (1-1, 3.68) Coming off his first loss of the season, deGrom looks to extend his streak of five consecutive quality starts. The 29-year-old hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in his last nine outings and racked up at least eight strikeouts in his last five starts. In 14 starts against the Braves, deGrom is 5-3 with a 1.84 ERA, and he has allowed one run in 18 innings across three meetings this season. Soroka will come off the disabled list to make his fourth big-league start and his first since May 12 at Miami. The 20-year-old beat the Mets in his debut May 1, allowing one run and six hits over six innings, but he didn’t get through five innings in his last two outings. Soroka has compiled 15 strikeouts and just four walks in 14 2/3 innings across his first three major league starts. Mets are 20-8 in deGroms last 28 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Braves are 0-4 in their last 4 games following a win. Road team is 7-2 in Coopers last 9 games behind home plate vs. Atlanta. |

06-12-18 | Pirates v. Diamondbacks -138 | Top | 8-13 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
Diamondbacks After completing a three-game sweep in Colorado, the Arizona Diamondbacks continued to churn up the offense in the opener of their three-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Arizona looks to remain hot at the plate when it hosts Pittsburgh on Tuesday in search of a season-high fifth consecutive victory. PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Trevor Williams (5-3, 4.18 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Clay Buchholz (1-1, 1.88) Williams has yielded at least four runs in each of his last four starts and five of his last six but managed to come away with only one loss in that span. The 26-year-old Californian was superb in the other outing during that stretch, scattering six hits over seven scoreless innings in a win over the Chicago White Sox on May 15. Williams has allowed two runs over 11 frames in two career starts against Arizona, registering seven strikeouts while issuing just one walk en route to a 1-0 record. Buchholz continued his strong showing with the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, when he allowed two runs and seven hits over six innings of a no-decision at San Francisco. The 33-year-old Texan won his only start at home this year as he limited Miami to one run and six hits in a season-high seven frames on June 1. Buchholz made his only career start against the Pirates on Sept. 17, 2014, yielding five runs and six hits in four innings of a loss at Pittsburgh while with Boston. |

06-12-18 | Rockies v. Phillies -141 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 12 m | Show |
Phillies The Colorado Rockies have been extremely generous to the tune of surrendering 85 runs en route to losing eight of their last 10 to fall below .500 for the first time since April 11. The Rockies (32-33) aim to stop the bleeding Tuesday when they begin a six-game road trip with the opener of a three-game series versus the Philadelphia Phillies (33-30). PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Jon Gray (6-6, 5.66 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Aaron Nola (7-2, 2.35) Gray streaky season continued as he improved to 2-0 in his last three starts after allowing three runs on seven hits in five innings of Wednesday's 6-3 victory at Cincinnati. The 26-year-old's recent strong stretch comes on the heels of a two-game skid in which he permitted 11 runs on 19 hits. Nola overcame a season-high four walks and was in line for the win Wednesday before the bullpen spoiled his six-inning performance by allowing a grand slam in the ninth of a 7-5 setback to the Chicago Cubs. The 25-year-old looks to continue his dominance at Citizens Bank Park, where he sports a 5-0 mark with a 1.94 ERA while limiting the opposition to a .209 batting average. Charlie Blackmon is 3-for-4 with three doubles against Nola, however the hurler has subdued the rest of the current crop of Rockies (3-for-17, eight strikeouts). |

06-09-18 | Cardinals -101 v. Reds | Top | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 4 m | Show |
Cardinals The visiting St. Louis Cardinals continue to dominate the Cincinnati Reds and will try to extend multiple impressive streaks when the teams play the middle contest of a three-game series on Saturday. A 7-6 extra-inning victory in the opener Friday night gave the Cardinals 12 consecutive wins over their National League Central division rivals, tied for the second-longest streak against the Reds in franchise history. St. Louis also picked up its 10th straight triumph at Great American Ball Park, which matches a 1930-31 streak as the club's longest on the road against Cincinnati. Jose Martinez slugged a pair of homers in Friday's win and is 11-for-22 with three home runs, three doubles and eight RBIs during his six-game hitting streak. PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (7-1, 2.41 ERA) vs. Reds RH Luis Castillo (4-6, 5.64) Wacha allowed a leadoff hit in the ninth inning against the Pirates before departing with a season-high 111 pitches, striking out eight and walking two. The dominant outing left him 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA over a span of nine starts, which started with 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball against Cincinnati on April 20. The 26-year-old is 10-1 with a 2.88 ERA in his career against the Reds. Castillo lasted six innings just once in his last four starts and was knocked out after 4 2/3 at San Diego on Sunday. Home runs remain a major issue for the Dominincan Republic native, who has allowed at least one in eight of his last nine outings. The 25-year-old allowed three runs in five innings to get the loss earlier in the year against the Cardinals and he is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA in two career meetings. Cardinals are 9-2 in Wachas last 11 starts. Reds are 1-4 in Castillos last 5 Saturday starts. Cardinals are 13-3 in Wachas last 16 starts vs. Reds. |

06-08-18 | Warriors -4.5 v. Cavs | Top | 108-85 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
Warriors The Golden State Warriors aim to finish off a four-game sweep of Cleveland when they visit the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals on Friday. Golden State is striving to win its third title in four seasons as well as become the first team to sweep the best-of-7 finals since the San Antonio Spurs dispatched the Cavaliers in four games in 2007. Golden State forward Draymond Green told reporters. "So you have the opportunity to close out, you want to do that. So you come in, take full advantage of the opportunity in front of us." Which I feel they will do. I just don’t see the Cavs having enough in the tank to get this game. Warriors end the series tonight. Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Warriors are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. |

06-07-18 | Mariners -108 v. Rays | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 59 m | Show |
Mariners Nelson Cruz is enjoying his best stretch of the campaign and the Seattle slugger looks for his seventh multi-hit outing in nine games Thursday when the Mariners open a four-game series against the host Tampa Bay Rays. Cruz is 12-for-31 with three homers during the stretch after going deep for the 11th time this season during Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Houston Astros. Seattle had a five-game winning streak halted with Wednesday's setback but owns a one-game lead over Houston in the American League West due to a 14-4 stretch. Shortstop Jean Segura went 5-for-9 in two games against the Astros and the back-to-back multi-hit outings raise his major league-leading count in that category to 27. Tampa Bay has scored only 12 runs during a six-game slide and manager Kevin Cash defended the recent practice of starting a reliever after Jonny Venters retired only one batter and allowed five runs in the first inning of Wednesday's 11-2 loss to the Washington Nationals. The Mariners Leake allowed two runs and six hits over seven innings against Tampa Bay on Friday but didn't get a victory because closer Edwin Diaz blew the save in the ninth inning. The 30-year-old Leake is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three career starts against the Rays. Leake has a solid 1.66 ERA over his past three starts and hasn't issued a walk over his last four turns. The Mariners swept the Rays in Seattle last weekend while holding Tampa Bay to five runs. |

06-07-18 | Phillies +120 v. Cubs | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 10 m | Show |
Phillies Some late-inning drama has set up a rubber match between the Chicago Cubs and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. The Cubs evened the three-game set at a win apiece on Jason Heyward’s walk-off grand slam Wednesday. The Phillies appeared to be on their way to a 2-0 series lead when rookie Dylan Cozens blasted a two-run homer off Cubs closer Brandon Morrow in the ninth inning Wednesday. But Heyward’s game-winning blast gave Chicago its fifth win in six games, pulling the Cubs within one game of National League Central leader Milwaukee. In the finale the Cubs hand the ball to walk-happy right-hander Tyler Chatwood, who has issued 49 free passes in 53 2/3 innings this season. Right-hander Nick Pivetta gets the start for the Phillies. PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Nick Pivetta (4-4, 3.48 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Tyler Chatwood (3-4, 4.02) After allowing one run over 19 innings across three straight wins, Pivetta has come back to Earth in his last two outings. The 25-year-old Canadian lost his second consecutive start Friday at San Francisco, allowing three runs over four innings in a 4-0 defeat. Pivetta faced the Cubs last season and gave up three runs (two earned) over five innings in a win. Chatwood is winless in his last four starts, but he showed signs of getting back on track last time out. After failing to get through three innings in his previous two outings, the 28-year-old allowed two runs over 5 1/3 frames in a no-decision Friday at the New York Mets. Chatwood is 3-2 with a 3.27 ERA in six starts against the Phillies. Phillies are 9-0 in Pivettas last 9 starts following a team loss in their previous game. Cubs are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a right-handed starter. |

06-06-18 | Warriors v. Cavs +4.5 | Top | 110-102 | Loss | -108 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers badly need a victory if they plan on turning the NBA Finals into a true series. The Golden State Warriors won the first two games of the best-of-seven series and look to place Cleveland in a major hole when they visit the Cavaliers on Wednesday. Cleveland forward LeBron James averaged 40 points in the first two games - including his epic 51-point outing in the opener - and it still wasn't enough to get his squad a victory. I’m looking for James to will his team into a close game tonight. Playoff disappointment Rodney Hood will receive some minutes in Game 3 as Cleveland searches for anybody who can provide scoring punch to complement James and power forward Kevin Love. Warriors are 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. Cavaliers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. |

06-06-18 | Mariners +180 v. Astros | Top | 5-7 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 57 m | Show |
Mariners The red-hot Seattle Mariners aim for their sixth consecutive victory when they conclude their two-game series with the host Houston Astros on Wednesday. Seattle rolled to a 7-1 victory in Tuesday's opener to increase its lead over Houston in the American League West to two games. Kyle Seager, Jean Segura and Mike Zunino all homered in the opener as the Mariners moved 16 games over .500 for the first time since the 130th game of the 2007 season. Nelson Cruz continued his surge by going 2-for-4 and is 13-for-31 with two homers and eight RBIs over his last eight contests. PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners LH Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 2.60 ERA) vs. Astros RH Lance McCullers Jr. (7-3, 3.89) LeBlanc picked up his first win in six starts this season when he allowed one run and four hits over five innings against Texas in his last turn. The 33-year-old has posted a 1.72 ERA as a starter and allowed four hits or fewer five times but typically doesn't pitch deep into games. McCullers defeated Boston in his last turn as he gave up two runs and four hits over six innings. The 24-year-old served up three homers in his previous outing, when he was torched by Cleveland for seven runs in 4 1/3 frames. Mariners are 12-1 in LeBlancs last 13 starts on grass. Astros are 2-5 in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. |

06-06-18 | Dodgers -110 v. Pirates | Top | 9-11 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 51 m | Show |
Dodgers The Los Angeles Dodgers aim to move over .500 for the first time since they were 11-10 when they play the second of a three-game series at the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. Five pitchers combined to scatter seven hits and three players went deep in the Dodgers' 5-0 victory to begin the series, their 14th win in the last 18 games. The surge includes eight consecutive road wins for Los Angeles (30-30), which is 7-1 against the Pirates since the start of last year. The Dodgers will give the ball Wednesday to promising prospect Caleb Ferguson for his major-league debut after just 47 innings above Single-A ball. PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Caleb Ferguson (NR) vs. Pirates RH Trevor Williams (5-3, 3.84 ERA) Ferguson was 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA in eight starts for Double-A Tulsa before making a pair of starts at Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his call-up. He allowed two earned runs and six hits in eight innings over those two outings. The 21-year-old, who was a 38th-round selection in 2014, has 271 strikeouts in 250 1/3 innings in his career in the minors. Williams went 5-2 with a 2.72 ERA through his first nine starts but he's hit a snag of late, going 0-1 with a 7.80 mark over his last three outings. He went three straight starts without issuing a walk before handing out two and allowing nine hits across five rocky frames at St. Louis on Thursday. The 26-year-old is 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers. Dodgers are 8-0 in their last 8 road games. Pirates are 1-7 in Williams' last 8 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Dodgers are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. |

06-05-18 | Yankees -147 v. Blue Jays | Top | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 19 m | Show |
Yankees Slugger Aaron Judge looks to bounce back from a horrific doubleheader performance when the New York Yankees open a two-game series against the host Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. Judge became the first player since at least 1920 to strike out eight times in a doubleheader as the Yankees split Monday's twinbill in Detroit. PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees LH CC Sabathia (2-1, 3.73 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RH Marco Estrada (2-6, 5.68) Sabathia is winless over his last five starts but has suffered just one loss during the stretch. The 37-year-old has pitched five innings or fewer in four consecutive outings and seven of his 10 turns. Sabathia is 17-11 with a 3.51 ERA in 33 career starts against the Blue Jays - an 0.96 ERA in two no-decisions this season. Estrada has dropped four straight decisions and is 0-5 over his last seven outings. The 34-year-old, who is 7-3 with a 4.27 ERA in 17 career appearances (16 starts) against New York, has posted a 6.53 ERA during his current four-game slide. Estrada's last victory came against the Yankees on April 20, when he yielded five runs and seven hits over five innings, and he also settled for a no-decision on March 31 after giving up three runs and four hits in seven frames. Yankees are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. American League East. Blue Jays are 0-4 in Estradas last 4 home starts. |

06-03-18 | Cavs +11.5 v. Warriors | Top | 103-122 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers got two days off to digest the mistakes made down the stretch that allowed the Golden State Warriors to escape with a win in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals and put it behind them. The Cavaliers will get another chance to steal homecourt advantage when they visit the Warriors for Game 2 on Sunday. Cleveland had a chance to take the lead at the end of regulation, but JR Smith dribbled out the clock instead of putting up a shot after securing an offensive rebound and the Cavaliers went on to suffer a 124-114 defeat in overtime to heavily-favored Golden State. Cleveland superstar LeBron James turned in one of the great performances in NBA Finals history in Game 1 with 51 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, but he might have to play even better going forward. Golden State shot 51.1 percent from the floor and 95 percent from the free-throw line while committing just eight turnovers in Game 1 but was still pushed to overtime, in part because Cleveland dominated on the boards with 19 offensive rebounds. Once again I feel this spread is inflated and I’ll back the Cavs again plus the points. Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Western Conference. Warriors are 6-18 ATS in their last 24 games following a straight up win and are 12-25 ATS in their last 37 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. |

06-01-18 | Pirates v. Cardinals -125 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -125 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
Cardinals Miles Mikolas was forced to head to Japan to resume his professional career, a move that has led him to becoming one of the more improbable success stories of the season. Mikolas has yet to taste defeat in 10 starts in 2018 and seeks his seventh win when the St. Louis Cardinals continue their four-game series against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Jameson Taillon (2-4, 4.53 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Miles Mikolas (6-0, 2.58) Taillon's winless drought reached nine starts despite a solid outing versus St. Louis on Sunday, when he permitted three runs on five hits and left with the lead after 6 1/3 innings. He was hammered for six runs and eight hits over six innings in his previous turn and is 0-4 since tossing a one-hit shutout on April 8. Matt Carpenter is 7-for-16 with a homer off Taillon, who is 1-1 with a 4.45 ERA versus St. Louis. Prior to struggling against the Pirates last time out, Mikolas had allowed two runs or fewer in seven straight starts, including seven innings of two-run ball at Pittsburgh on April. 27. The 29-year-old picked up his first shutout in the majors on May 21, blanking Kansas City on four hits while registering a career-high nine strikeouts. Mikolas has limited right-handed batters to a collective .177 batting average. Pirates are 1-5 in Taillons last 6 starts with 4 days of rest. Cardinals are 8-2 in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning record. Home team is 6-2 in Wolcotts last 8 games behind home plate. |

06-01-18 | Red Sox v. Astros UNDER 7 | Top | 3-7 | Loss | -124 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
Red Sox/Astros under 7 The top two strikeout pitchers in the American League will go head-to-head when the visiting Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros resume their four-game series on Friday night. Boston ace left-hander Chris Sale, the major league leader with 308 strikeouts in 2017, ranks second in the AL this season behind Astros right-hander Gerrit Cole. PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Chris Sale (5-2, 2.76 ERA) vs. Astros RH Gerrit Cole (5-1, 2.05) Sale lasted a season-low 4 1/3 innings against Atlanta on Sunday, giving up six runs and five hits to snap his six-start undefeated streak. It was the first time in a dozen starts this season that he permitted more than three runs and marked the fifth straight outing in which he has surrendered a home run. Cole gave up three runs and four hits over seven innings at Cleveland last time out but lost his chance for his sixth victory following a ninth-inning meltdown by Houston's bullpen. Cole is unbeaten in his last six turns overall but is finding wins hard to come by at Minute Maid Park, posting a 1-1 record with a 2.41 ERA in five home starts. Under is 5-1 in Sales last 6 road starts. Under is 6-2-1 in Astros last 9 vs. American League East. Under is 7-3 in Cuzzis last 10 games behind home plate. |

05-31-18 | Rangers v. Mariners -147 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
Mariners The Texas Rangers aim to win the series as well as post their seventh victory in 10 games when they visit the Seattle Mariners on Thursday for the finale of their four-game set. Robinson Chirinos went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in Wednesday's 7-6 triumph as the Rangers beat the Mariners for the second straight night after losing the series opener. PITCHING MATCHUP: Rangers LH Mike Minor (4-3, 5.63 ERA) vs. Mariners LH Wade LeBlanc (0-0, 2.70) Minor halted a stretch of three straight winless starts on Friday by giving up four runs and seven hits over six innings in a victory over Kansas City. The 30-year-old served up two homers during the triumph and has allowed eight over his last five turns after giving up just two in his first five outings. Minor has posted a 7.27 ERA in two no-decisions against the Mariners this season and is 1-1 with a 4.12 ERA in six career appearances (three starts) versus Seattle. LeBlanc has a solid 1.71 ERA as a starter, yielding just five runs over 26 1/3 innings in those five outings. The 33-year-old allowed two runs and four hits over six frames against Minnesota in his last turn. LeBlanc has faced the Rangers just once in his career, surrendering five runs - one earned - and five hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief on August 19, 2013 while with Houston. Rangers are 7-18 in their last 25 games following a win. Mariners are 10-2 in their last 12 games following a loss. Mariners are 5-1 in their last 6 games with Morales behind home plate. |

05-31-18 | Cavs +13 v. Warriors | Top | 114-124 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
Cavs The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are in the NBA Finals for the fourth straight season and the series begins Thursday night in Oakland, Calif. The Warriors won two of the first three meetings and the latest matchup will likely begin with Cavaliers forward Kevin Love (concussion) sitting out. Love suffered a concussion in Friday's Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics and has yet to pass the protocol, and coach Tyronn Lue doesn't know if he will be available. Love, a five-time All-Star, was seen on the practice floor Wednesday and Lue did indicate that he will start the contest if he is cleared to play. Love's presence would alleviate some pressure off James, who is averaging 34 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists in a stellar postseason. Veteran defensive stopper Andre Iguodala (left leg) will miss his fifth consecutive contest, leaving Golden State without a player who typically shadows James. James has topped 40 points seven times this postseason, one shy of Jerry West's postseason record set in 1965. JUST TOO MANY POINTS TO PASS UP FOR ME! TAKE THE CAVS! |

05-31-18 | Pirates v. Cardinals -133 | Top | 8-10 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
Cardinals After failing to cut into first-place Milwaukee's lead in the National League Central, the St. Louis Cardinals square off with division rival Pittsburgh as they host the Pirates on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series. St. Louis won two of three at Pittsburgh last weekend before dropping two of three to the Brewers to close out a road trip. The Pirates dropped the final two to the Cardinals last week and saw their losing streak stretch to four games before averting a sweep with a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday for their third win in 12 games. PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Trevor Williams (5-3, 3.43 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Jack Flaherty (2-1, 2.15) Williams suffered the loss versus the Cardinals last Saturday after giving up four runs and seven hits over a season-low four innings. It marked the third time in four starts that he permitted four runs, although the 26-year-old beat the Cardinals on April 28 with six innings of two-run ball. Williams has had trouble against both Jose Martinez (5-for-8) and Matt Carpenter, who is 4-for-10 with two homers. Flaherty got the best of Pittsburgh last weekend, winning his second straight start by limiting the Pirates to one run and four hits over six innings. The 2014 first-round draft pick had the best performance of his brief major-league career in his previous turn, striking out 13 and allowing one run on two hits over 7 2/3 innings to beat Philadelphia. Pirates are 2-6 in Williams' last 8 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Cardinals are 7-2 in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a winning record. |

05-27-18 | Cavs v. Celtics -130 | Top | 87-79 | Loss | -130 | 23 h 20 m | Show |
Celtics The Boston Celtics have yet to lose at home in the playoffs, but a Game 7 against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers is different from every other test the young team has faced in the postseason. The Celtics will try to hold homecourt advantage and turn away James and company when they host the Cavaliers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday. James stepped up with his team facing elimination in Game 6 on Friday, collecting 46 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in 46 minutes to push Cleveland to a 109-99 win and put himself one win away from an eighth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. Boston is trying to maximize its own potential and is prepared for a fight in Game 7. Cleveland will spend the off day and the hours leading up to Game 7 monitoring the health of James, who was forced to play through a knee injury in the fourth quarter on Friday, and the team is expected to be without power forward Kevin Love in Game 7 after he was placed in the concussion protocol. Boston took the first three home games in the series by an average of 17 points and already has one Game 7 home win under its belt in the postseason after knocking off the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Boston has yet to lose a game at TD Garden in the postseason at 10-0, which includes a Game 7 blowout of Milwaukee in the first round. In fact, Boston has won 14 of its past 15 home games dating back to a late rally to surprise Oklahoma City on March 20. Boston’s defense hasn’t allowed more than 94 points in any of the three home wins against Cleveland in this series, while incredibly covering in all 10 home victories. Cavaliers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game and are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. |

05-26-18 | Padres v. Dodgers -1.5 | Top | 7-5 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 43 m | Show |
Dodgers (run-line) When the San Diego Padres continue their three-game series against the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday, they may want to consider pitching around Matt Kemp. The Dodgers outfielder is 15-for-26 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in seven games this season against his former team, including a three-run blast in Friday’s 4-1 win. PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres RH Jordan Lyles (1-1, 3.11 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Alex Wood (1-4, 3.32)In his first start since tossing 7 2/3 perfect innings against Milwaukee, Lyles gave up four runs over 5 2/3 frames in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Sunday. The 27-year-old began the season in the bullpen and did not allow a run in 10 of his 13 appearances. Chase Utley is 7-for-16 against Lyles, who is 0-3 with a 6.97 ERA in 15 career games (six starts) versus Los Angeles - including a 6.55 ERA in six contests (one start) last season. |

05-26-18 | Rockets +13 v. Warriors | Top | 86-115 | Loss | -105 | 3 h 40 m | Show |
Rockets The Houston Rockets are on the brink of the franchise's first trip to the NBA Finals since 1995 but will be without point guard Chris Paul when they try to knock off a proud defending champion. The Rockets, who took a 3-2 series lead with a home win in Game 5, will take the first of their two shots at earning one more win when they visit the Golden State Warriors for Game 6 on Saturday. The only downside to the 98-94 Game 5 win for Houston was the sight of Paul leaving with a hamstring injury in the final minute, and he was ruled out of Game 6 on Friday. With Paul out I feel the line makers are inflating this spread a bit too much. Houston won the last two games despite a historic shooting slump from MVP candidate James Harden, who missed his last 20 3-point attempts after going 0-of-11 from beyond the arc on Thursday. I look for him to break out of the slump tonight. Warriors SF Andre Iguodala (knee) sat out the last two games and is questionable for Game 6. Rockets are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest. Warriors are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games playing on 1 days rest. |

05-25-18 | Celtics +7 v. Cavs | Top | 99-109 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 7 m | Show |
Celtics The Boston Celtics are one win away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010 when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. The Celtics possess a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference finals but are just 1-6 on the road this postseason, including two setbacks in Cleveland. Boston continues to persevere behind its young roster but it will have to step up if it is to close the series on the Cavaliers' home floor. Small forward Jayson Tatum scored 24 points in Game 5 for his ninth 20-point outing of the postseason. The 20-year-old is putting together one of the best scoring playoff runs by a rookie in NBA history with 312 points and he trails only Elgin Baylor (331), Alvan Adams (341) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (352). James had 26 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while going 11-of-22 shooting in Game 5 and he downplayed interrogating questions about his level of fatigue. Cleveland SG JR Smith is averaging just 5.2 points on 9-of-39 shooting in the series. Horford had 15 points and 12 rebounds in Game 5 for his second double-double of the series and seventh of the postseason. Celtics are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest. Cavaliers are 12-39-2 ATS in their last 53 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. |

05-24-18 | Warriors +1.5 v. Rockets | Top | 94-98 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 20 m | Show |
Warriors Staring at a 10-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter and a 3-1 series hole, the Houston Rockets came alive and reestablished homecourt advantage in the Western Conference finals. The Rockets will try to maintain that advantage and carry some momentum back when they host the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 on Thursday. Houston allowed 126 points on 52.2 percent shooting in a 41-point loss in Game 3 but came out with a renewed passion on the defensive end in Game 4 and held the Warriors to 12 points in the fourth quarter to earn a 95-92 victory. That may have been the worst quarter of Basketball the Warriors have played all season. That will not happen again here tonight. The Warriors shot 39.3 percent from the floor in the loss and All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson was held to 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting, giving him an average of 10.3 points over the last three games after going off for 28 in Game 1. I’m looking for Klay to bounce back here will a good shooting effort. Warriors are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Conference Finals games and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss. Rockets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win. Warriors are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings in Houston. |

05-23-18 | Cavs v. Celtics +1 | Top | 83-96 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Celtics The Cleveland Cavaliers recovered to even the Eastern Conference Finals at two games apiece and now look to solve the homecourt mastery of the Boston Celtics. Second-seeded Boston is 9-0 at TD Garden this postseason and Cleveland can end the Celtics' unbeaten mark if it can win its third straight outing. Boston won its two home games by average of 19 points but things didn't go so smoothly in Cleveland as it lost by an average of 19.5 points. "We missed a bunch of easy opportunities," shooting guard Jaylen Brown said of the Game 4 loss. "We made some bad turnovers and things like that. But we still had opportunities to get into the game and to win." Brown is averaging 20.3 points in the series and his 25-point effort in Game 4 was his third 20-point outing in the East finals. The Cavaliers are 3-4 on the road in the postseason. Cavaliers are 8-17 ATS in their last 25 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. eltics are 18-6 ATS in their last 24 home games and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Take the Celtics at home in Game Five. |

05-22-18 | Rockets v. Warriors -8.5 | Top | 95-92 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
Warriors All the questions that were raised by the Golden State Warriors' lackluster performance in Game 2, particularly surrounding star guard Stephen Curry, were answered in emphatic fashion in a dominating performance in Game 3. Similar questions are now surrounding the top-seeded Houston Rockets, who will try to bounce back from an embarrassing performance and even the Western Conference finals at two wins apiece when they visit the Warriors for Game 4 on Tuesday. Curry averaged 17 points and was a combined 2-of-13 from 3-point range as the Warriors split the first two games in Houston but found his shot during a third-quarter outburst on Sunday and finished with a game-high 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting as second-seeded Golden State breezed to a 126-85 victory. Houston shot 39.5 percent from the floor, including 11-of-34 from beyond the arc, and committed 20 turnovers leading to 28 points on Sunday. I simply looking for more of the same here in Game Four with the Warriors getting the easy win but close cover. Lay the points. Rockets are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 vs. NBA Pacific. Warriors are 22-7 ATS in their last 29 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Conference Finals games. |

05-22-18 | Angels -103 v. Blue Jays | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
Angels The Los Angeles Angels have found a safe haven on the road with wins in 14 of 18 such contests this season. Los Angeles (26-21) aims to continue its stellar play away from Angel Stadium on Tuesday as it begins a 10-game road trip with the opener of a three-game series versus the Toronto Blue Jays (22-25), who have dropped four in a row and seven of eight overall. While the Angels are drawing rave reviews on the road, the Blue Jays didn't give their fans much to cheer as they committed four errors on Sunday and were outscored 27-12 en route to dropping all four contests to Oakland to begin their seven-game homestand. PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Garrett Richards (4-2, 3.47 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH J.A. Happ (5-3, 4.15) Richards was outdueled by Justin Verlander on Wednesday to fall to 1-2 in his last four outings despite allowing just two unearned runs on four hits over seven innings of a 2-0 setback to Houston. The 29-year-old was taken deep for the second straight contest after keeping the ball in the park in four of his previous five. Happ answered a horrific outing with a stellar one, as he bounced back from a seven-run effort in a 9-3 rout by Seattle on May 10 with a two-hit, 10-strikeout gem six days later in a 12-1 romp at the New York Mets. Justin Upton is 4-for-8 with a pair of homers and Ian Kinsler is 6-for-19 with two blasts against Happ, who is languishing with a 1-6 mark and 6.17 ERA in seven career appearances against the Angels. Angels are 7-0 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing record and Angels are 4-1 in Richards' last 5 starts with 5 days of rest. Blue Jays are 6-14 in Happs last 20 starts during game 1 of a series. Blue Jays are 1-5 in Happs last 6 starts vs. Angels. |

05-19-18 | Celtics +6.5 v. Cavs | Top | 86-116 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
Celtics The Cleveland Cavaliers have little margin for error as they attempt to begin digging out of a hole when they host the Boston Celtics on Saturday in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals. Boston won the first two games to improve to 9-0 at home in the postseason but the Celtics are just 1-4 on the road. Cleveland dropped the first two games by an average of 19 points and even a monster Game 2 effort by LeBron James (42 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds) on Tuesday couldn't prevent a 13-point loss. Starting shooting guard Jaylen Brown has been solid with back-to-back 23-point outings while center Al Horford is averaging 17.5 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots over the first two games. James was bothered by a strained neck after Game 2 but the extra days of rest figure to leave him near full strength. Someone not operating at a high level is shooting guard JR Smith, who is averaging two points on 2-of-16 shooting (0-of-7 from 3-point range) and committed a controversial flagrant 1 foul on a defenseless Horford in Game 2. While LeBron may find a way to will his team to a narrow victory the line is very inflated. Take Boston plus the points. Celtics are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest and are 42-20-2 ATS in their last 64 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Cavaliers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 3 or more days rest and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Celtics are 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Cleveland. |

05-18-18 | Yankees -1.5 v. Royals | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
Yankees (run-line) Pretty much everything has gone right for the New York Yankees over the past four weeks -- with the exception of some weather issues this week. After having the first two contests of their eight-game road trip wiped out by rain in the nation's capital, the Yankees head to Kansas City to open a three-game set against the Royals on Friday night. Red-hot New York owns the best record in the majors at 28-12, ripping off 19 wins in its last 22 games after sitting at the .500 mark (9-9) on April 20. CC Sabathia, unbeaten in his last 15 regular-season starts, gets the nod in the series opener for the Yankees, who have played the fewest road games (15) of any team in baseball but have won six of their last seven away from home. The skidding Royals, losers of five straight and seven of eight, are coming off a three-game sweep by visiting Tampa Bay, falling into a three-run hole in the first inning in each of their past two. PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees LH CC Sabathia (2-0, 2.23 ERA) vs. Royals RH Jakob Junis (4-3, 3.53) Sabathia is coming off his worst start of the season but managed to escape with a no-decision against Boston after getting knocked around for four runs and nine hits over four innings. He had allowed a combined four runs (one earned) in his previous four runs and has not lost since Aug. 8. Sabathia has 21 wins against the Royals -- tied for his most against any opponent -- and is 13-5 at Kauffman Stadium. Junis has leveled off after his sensational start to the season in which he won his first two outings by permitting a combined four hits over 14 scoreless innings. The 25-year-old is struggling to keep the ball in the park, surrendering 11 homers over his last six starts -- nine of which have come at home. Junis lost his lone career start against the Yankees last season, giving up six runs over 5 2/3 innings. Yankees are 16-5 in Sabathias last 21 starts with 7 or more days of rest. Royals are 5-21 in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Yankees are 7-1 in Sabathias last 8 starts vs. Royals. |

Warrior/Rockets over I’m looking to see a faster paced game with more up-tempo from the Rockets, while the Warriors will get their points. Both teams made 13 3-pointers in Game One, but the Warriors had an 18-3 edge in fast-break points. Over is 4-1 in Warriors last 5 Conference Finals games. Over is 6-2 in Rockets last 8 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. Take over the total here in Game Two. |

Rockets The Golden State Warriors flashed supreme form in the opener of the Western Conference finals and look to take a 2-0 lead when they visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. The Warriors outscored the Rockets by 13 points in the second half while recording a 119-106 win in Game 1. Harden recorded 41 points and seven assists in the opener but didn't receive enough help from the supporting cast. I see that changing tonight with Chris Paul and company stepping up their game. Harden reached 40 points for the third time this postseason and coach Mike D'Antoni joked after Game 1 that he might need to ask Harden to score 55 in Game 2. He broke out of a 3-point shooting funk by making 5-of-9 attempts. Warriors are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games playing on 1 days rest and are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. |

Celtics Marcus Morris and his Boston teammates got the best of LeBron James in the opener of the Eastern Conference finals. The second-seeded Celtics look to stymie the Cleveland star for the second consecutive contest when they host the fourth-seeded Cavaliers on Tuesday in Game 2 of the best-of-seven series. Morris helped hold James to 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting as Boston roared to a 26-point halftime advantage en route to a 108-83 torching of Cleveland in Sunday's series opener. Morris moved into the starting lineup and had 21 points and 10 rebounds after boasting prior to the opener that he is one of the best in the NBA at defending James. James had plenty of company in the subpar shooting category as Cleveland shot 36 percent from the field, including a woeful 4-of-26 from 3-point range. Morris was one of three Boston players to reach the 20-point mark in the opener as shooting guard Jaylen Brown recorded 23 points and eight rebounds and center Al Horford had 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Look for Boston to play another solid game on defense and go up 2-0 in the series. Cavaliers are 11-38-2 ATS in their last 51 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. Celtics are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 home games and are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. |

05-11-18 | Mets v. Phillies -142 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -142 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
Phillies The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies got off to vastly different starts this season, as the former defeated the latter on two occasions while bolting out to a sparkling 11-1 record. The fortunes of both clubs have changed dramatically since then, with the Mets (18-17) dropping eight of nine entering Friday's opener of a three-game series at the Phillies (22-15). The Mets' losing ways added a sliver of the absurd with a baffling lineup card snafu in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Cincinnati, but manager Mickey Callaway insists the team's work ethic will eventually get it back on track. Philadelphia capped a four-game sweep of San Francisco due in large part to the heroics of Carlos Santana, who went deep for the third time in the series with a three-run shot in Thursday afternoon's 6-3 victory. Odubel Herrera collected three hits for the second time in five outings to improve to 10-for-18 with two homers, nine RBIs and six runs scored in that stretch for the Phillies, who have come a long way since their 1-4 start to the season. PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets LH Steven Matz (1-3, 4.23 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Jake Arrieta (3-1, 3.15) Matz avenged a disastrous seven-run outing on April 25 by recording his first quality start of the season after allowing one run on three hits in six innings of Saturday's 2-0 setback to Colorado. The 26-year-old had his start pushed back due to a stiff back and allowed a first-inning homer to Nolan Arenado, marking the sixth time he's been taken deep this season (27 2/3 innings). Arrieta missed Philadelphia's first series versus New York as he worked himself into shape after signing a three-year, $75 million contract in March. The 32-year-old enjoyed a three-start winning streak before getting blitzed against Miami on April 30, but rebounded to allow one run on two hits in six innings of a no-decision at Washington on Sunday. Asdrubal Cabrera has homered twice while batting .357 against Arrieta, but the right-hander has posted a 2-2 mark with a 2.30 ERA in seven career appearances versus the Mets. Mets are 1-6 in Matzs last 7 road starts and are 2-9 in Matzs last 11 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Phillies are 14-2 in their last 16 home games vs. a left-handed starter. |

05-10-18 | Cardinals -131 v. Padres | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
Cardinals Miles Mikolas will pitch at San Diego's Petco Park on Thursday for the first time since he was a member of the Padres in 2012 and 2013. The right-hander is thriving in his return to the major leagues as he takes the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals in the opener of their four-game series against San Diego. Mikolas made 27 relief appearances for the Padres before spending part of 2014 with Texas and then pitching in Japan the past three seasons. The 29-year-old received a two-year, $15.5 million contract from the Cardinals over the winter, and the investment has looked good in the early going as Mikolas is sporting a stellar 4-0 record through six starts. PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Miles Mikolas (4-0, 2.70 ERA) vs. Padres RH Jordan Lyles (0-0, 3.66) Mikolas defeated the Chicago Cubs in his last turn as he gave up seven hits over seven scoreless innings. A seventh-round pick of the Padres in the 2009 draft, Mikolas hasn't walked a batter in any of his last three turns and has issued just two against 31 strikeouts in 40 frames. Lyles will make his first start of the season after making 13 relief appearances. The 27-year-old is replacing Bryan Mitchell in the rotation after holding opposing batters to a .194 average in 19 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. Lyles is 0-1 with a 4.86 ERA in six career appearances (two starts) against St. Louis and has struggled with Dexter Fowler (3-for-6, homer, four walks). Cardinals 3B Jedd Gyorko is a scorching 18-for-36 with seven homers and 16 RBIs in 10 games against the Padres, the team for which he played from 2013-15. Cardinals are 14-3 in their last 17 when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game. Padres are 3-12 in their last 15 home games vs. a right-handed starter. Cardinals are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in San Diego. |

05-10-18 | Nationals v. Diamondbacks -131 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -131 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Diamondbacks The slumping Bryce Harper received a night off to refresh but will be back in the starting lineup when the Washington Nationals visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday for the opener of their four-game series. Harper sat out Wednesday's 2-1 setback against San Diego after matching his career-worst stretch of 19 straight hitless at-bats. PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Tanner Roark (2-3, 3.65 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Zack Greinke (3-2, 4.10) Roark matched his season high of nine strikeouts in his last turn against Philadelphia but allowed three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss. The 31-year-old has given up six or fewer hits in all seven of his starts while holding opposing batters to a .203 average. Roark is 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA in nine career appearances (six starts) versus Arizona. Greinke settled for a no-decision against Houston in his last turn despite giving up one run and five hits over 5 2/3 innings. The 34-year-old walked a season-worst two batters but has issued just six free passes while striking out 47 in 41 2/3 frames. Greinke has thrived against Washington, posting a 5-1 record and 1.49 ERA in seven career starts, and has kept Harper in the ballpark in a small sample size (1-for-4, two strikeouts, two walks). Nationals are 0-6 in Roarks last 6 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance. Diamondbacks are 6-1 in their last 7 games vs. a right-handed starter and are 9-2 in their last 11 games following a loss. |

05-10-18 | Red Sox v. Yankees -138 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -138 | 6 h 5 m | Show |
Yankees The Boston Red Sox used a 17-1 stretch to seize early control of the American League East, but the New York Yankees have utilized an identical surge to take over the top spot. The first-place Yankees look to make it 18 of 19 and complete a three-game sweep of the Red Sox when the American League East rivals meet Thursday in the Bronx. Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge combined for six hits, six runs and five RBIs, including four on consecutive hits - Gardner's two-run triple and Judge's two-run homer - against Boston closer Craig Kimbrel in an eighth-inning rally that lifted New York to a 9-6 victory Wednesday night. PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Eduardo Rodriguez (3-0, 5.29 ERA) vs. Yankees LH CC Sabathia (2-0, 1.39) Rodriguez posted three straight quality starts in the middle of April but has given up five runs in each of his last two outings. He struck out 10 in six frames but served up three home runs in his last start Saturday at Texas. Sabathia is 2-0 with a 0.39 ERA in four starts since coming off the disabled list April 19, including six scoreless innings and a season-high seven strikeouts against Cleveland on Friday. He has lasted four straight starts without allowing a home run and has issued only three walks over his last five outings. The 37-year-old, who is 17-13 with a 4.12 ERA lifetime versus the Red Sox, has controlled matters against Hanley Ramirez (2-for-22), Xander Bogaerts (4-for-28) and Andrew Benintendi (2-for-11). Judge is 10-for-19 with two homers and five RBIs against Boston this year. Red Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. American League East. Yankees are 10-2 in their last 12 home games vs. a left-handed starter and are 17-4 in Sabathias last 21 home starts. |

05-09-18 | Nationals -130 v. Padres | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -130 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
Nationals The streaking Washington Nationals look to win for the 10th time in 11 games when they conclude their three-game series against the host San Diego Padres on Wednesday. The Nationals have won the first two games of the set by a total of seven runs after posting a 4-0 triumph on Tuesday. The Padres have been shut out in two of their last five games - the first being a combined no-hitter by the Los Angeles Dodgers - and five times overall. Eric Hosmer is hitless in eight at-bats in the series and just 2-for-17 over his last five contests, with the hits being home runs. PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals LH Gio Gonzalez (4-2, 2.33 ERA) vs. Padres LH Joey Lucchesi (3-2, 3.13) Gonzalez has won back-to-back starts and three of his last four. The 32-year-old has allowed fewer than two runs in four of his turns and has served up just one homer in 38 2/3 innings. Gonzalez is 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA in six career starts against the Padres and has allowed two homers to Freddy Galvis (11-for-42), who was with Philadelphia at the time. Lucchesi lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in his last outing as he gave up three runs and five hits over five innings. The 24-year-old rookie has lost two of his last three starts, serving up four home runs during the stretch. Lucchesi has issued nine free passes over 15 2/3 frames during the three-outing span. Nationals are 9-1 in their last 10 overall. Padres are 1-7 in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a winning record. Padres are 7-20 in their last 27 games with DiMuro behind home plate. |

05-09-18 | 76ers v. Celtics -113 | Top | 112-114 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
Celtics The Boston Celtics are one victory away from reaching the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. Philadelphia remained alive in the semifinal series by winning Game 4 and Boston now looks for the clinching win that will set up a rematch against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 76ers are still maintaining hope that they can become the first team to rally from a 3-0 deficit and win a playoff series. I see that being unlikely with this young team. Postseason hero Terry Rozier will be aiming to bounce back from his first subpar game of the series as he had just two assists and scored only 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting in Game 4. Rozier averaged 22.3 points over the first three games of the series and has scored 20 or more points on five occasions during the postseason. Celtics SF Jayson Tatum is averaging 23.3 points in the series and has extended his rookie franchise postseason record of consecutive 20-point games to six. 76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Conference Semifinals games. Celtics are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games. 76ers are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings. |

05-08-18 | Jazz v. Rockets -11.5 | Top | 102-112 | Loss | -106 | 3 h 56 m | Show |
Rockets The Houston Rockets will try to punch their ticket to the Western Conference finals when they take on the Utah Jazz in Game 5 of their best-of-seven semifinal series on Tuesday. The Rockets lost their last game at home but rebounded with back-to-back double-digit victories at Salt Lake City to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Chris Paul ate up Utah's defense with a string of short jumpers en route to a 27-point, 12-rebound, six-assist effort for Houston. Ricky Rubio still has not played in the series due to a hamstring issue and Derrick Favors was limited to 16 minutes in Game 4 due to a sprained ankle as injuries have taken their toll on Utah. Since a 1-2 ATS start in the playoffs, Mike D’Antoni’s team has covered in five of the past six games. When Houston wins in the postseason, the pointspread hasn’t mattered in six of seven victories, while the Rockets pulled away from the Timberwolves in their first round close-out game, 102-82 as 10 ½-point home favorites. Jazz are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. Rockets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest. Jazz are 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings. |

05-06-18 | Warriors v. Pelicans +6 | Top | 118-92 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 42 m | Show |
Pelicans Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans hope to match their last performance when they host the defending champion Golden State Warriors for Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinal series Sunday afternoon. Davis registered 33 points, 18 rebounds and four steals while the Pelicans limited the Warriors to 38 percent shooting with suffocating defense for a decisive 119-100 victory Friday. The Pelicans put more pressure on Golden State’s shooters after allowing 122 points per game in the first two of the series and drained 50 percent of their shots from the field - 14-of-31 from 3-point range - to pull away. Curry moved back into the starting lineup Friday in his second game back from an MCL sprain that kept him out more than a month, but connected on just 3-of-9 from 3-point range after making 5-of-10 in Tuesday’s 28-point performance. Veteran point guard Rajon Rondo dished out 21 assists in Friday’s victory and is averaging 13.9 in the playoffs with at least nine in all seven games during the postseason. Golden State is second-to-last at 33.6 percent from 3-point range in the playoffs after leading the league during the regular season (39.1). Warriors are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games playing on 1 days rest. Pelicans are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. Warriors are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in New Orleans. |

05-05-18 | Celtics +9 v. 76ers | Top | 101-98 | Win | 100 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
Celtics The Boston Celtics look to open up a commanding 3-0 series lead when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Philadelphia was in good position to even the series when it led Game 2 by 22 points but Boston rallied to post an impressive 108-103 victory. The Celtics appear to be in good shape as they are 36-0 all-time when holding a 2-0 lead in a seven-game series but it took a lot of work to overcome the 76ers' stellar start. Philadelphia is 0-11 all-time when dropping the first two contests of a seven-game playoff series but coach Brett Brown isn't interested in dwelling over the big hole. While the 76ers may come out and win here in game three this is too many points to pass up with the Celtics. |

05-04-18 | Rockets v. Jazz +5 | Top | 113-92 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 29 m | Show |
Jazz The Utah Jazz have seized homecourt advantage from the NBA's best team this season and they'll try to make it hold up when they host the Houston Rockets on Friday for Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinals. After losing all four regular-season encounters and then falling by 14 points in Game 1, the Jazz shot 51.8 percent and used a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter en route to a stunning 116-108 triumph in Wednesday's Game 2. Harden scored 32 points and two other starters had at least 21, but Houston's bench was outscored 41-22 and shot 7-of-25 from the floor. Joe Ingles hit a career-high seven 3-pointers in nine attempts en route to a team-high 27 points in Game 2 and the 30-year-old is averaging 15.9 points in the playoffs - up from 11.5 during the regular season - while making 50.9 percent from beyond the arc. Rockets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. Jazz are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. |

05-04-18 | Warriors v. Pelicans +5 | Top | 100-119 | Win | 100 | 5 h 56 m | Show |
Pelicans Golden State star guard Stephen Curry will be back in the starting lineup when the Warriors visit the New Orleans Pelicans in Friday's Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series. Curry injured his left knee on March 23 and returned to action on Tuesday when he scored 28 points off the bench in the Warriors' 121-116 victory. Star power forward Anthony Davis is averaging 23 points and 12.5 rebounds through the first two games but New Orleans may need an explosion from him in Game 3 similar to the 47-point effort he posted in the final game of the first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Holiday was solid with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in Game 2 after struggling to 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting in the opener. Point guard Rajon Rondo continued his strong postseason showing with 22 points and 12 assists in Game 2 and he is averaging 12.7 points and 12.7 assists in six playoff games. The Warriors shot 59 free throws (making 46) in the first two games while the Pelicans had just 20 attempts (making 16). Look for that to change now that the Pelicans are at home. Warriors are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Pelicans are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. |

05-02-18 | Jazz v. Rockets OVER 206 | Top | 116-108 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Jazz at Rockets over The Houston Rockets look to take a 2-0 lead when they host the Utah Jazz on Wednesday in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinal series. Star guard James Harden scored 41 points in Houston's series-opening 110-96 victory to continue his season-long assault of the Jazz. Harden averaged 34.3 points in four meetings with the Utah in the regular season -- including a 56-point outing -- and the defensive-minded Jazz once again had no answers on slowing down the MVP candidate. Utah isn't fretting over the Game 1 loss as it also lost the opener of its first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder before recovering to win in six games. I look for both teams to shoot the ball well again here in game two. Over is 8-2 in Jazz last 10 vs. a team with a winning straight up record and is 25-10 in Jazz last 35 vs. NBA Southwest. Over is 10-4 in Rockets last 14 Conference Semifinals games. Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. |

05-02-18 | Brewers -103 v. Reds | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Brewers A visit to the worst pitching staff in the majors was all it took to snap the Milwaukee Brewers out of a wretched offensive slump. After mustering only two runs in a four-game sweep at the Chicago Cubs, the Brewers have a chance to close their nine-game road trip with a sweep of their own in Wednesday night's series finale against the Cincinnati Reds. Travis Shaw belted a two-run homer and Jesús Aguilar and Hernan Perez added solo shots as Milwaukee followed up Monday's 6-5 victory by holding on for a 7-6 win 24 hours later. The Brewers have five homers and eight extra-base hits in the first two games of the series, including a two-run double by Ryan Braun that put them ahead for good Tuesday. Struggling Reds right-hander Luis Castillo, whose lone win came at Milwaukee on April 16 despite allowing four runs, will face left-hander Wade Miley on Wednesday night. PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers LH Wade Miley (2017: 8-15, 5.61 ERA) vs. Reds RH Luis Castillo (1-3, 7.85) Miley signed a minor-league deal with Milwaukee after finishing with a career-worst 15 defeats in 2017, including losses in all five starts in September. The 31-year-old, called up to take the rotation spot of Brent Suter, struck out 11 batters over six scoreless innings in his final rehab start at Double-A. Castillo's ugly season hit a low point when he lasted only one inning last time out and was pummeled for five runs and six hits at Minnesota while failing to strike out a batter for the first time. It also marked the first time Castillo has failed to go five innings, although he has permitted at least three runs in each turn. Brewers are 10-1 in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and are 14-6 in their last 20 road games vs. a right-handed starter. Reds are 4-17 in their last 21 home games and are 2-12 in their last 14 home games vs. a left-handed starter. Road team is 5-1 in Winters' last 6 games behind home plate. Back the Brewers here on the road. |

05-01-18 | Cavs v. Raptors -6.5 | Top | 113-112 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
Raptors The Cleveland Cavaliers have knocked the Toronto Raptors out of the playoffs the last two years but the Raptors are finally the favored team and hope to play like it when the teams begin their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup Tuesday night with Game 1 in Toronto. The Cavaliers won the conference final in six games over the Raptors in 2016 and swept a semifinals meeting last season en route to their third consecutive conference crown. LeBron James averaged 36 points in that sweep for Cleveland and carried his squad through a seven-game battle with the Indiana Pacers in the first round by pouring in 34.4 per game, including 45 in the 105-101 clincher Sunday. I look for LeBron and the Cavs to have very tired legs here in game one. Toronto, the top seed in the East, took six games to get rid of the Washington Wizards in the opening round led by DeMar DeRozan, who averaged 26.7 points and feels that his team is finally ready to topple Cleveland, even if the roster is roughly the same. Toronto figures to have a big advantage when the teams go to their benches, and the Raptors' reserves were given a big boost with the return of guard Fred VanVleet for Game 6 against Washington. The Cavaliers won two regular-season matchups with the Raptors at home by a total of nine points and lost in their one visit to Toronto by 34. Take the better and more rested team in the Raptors in game one. |

04-30-18 | 76ers -3.5 v. Celtics | Top | 101-117 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
76ers The Boston Celtics needed everything they had to survive a seven-game, first-round series with the Milwaukee Bucks. Their reward is an Eastern Conference semifinals matchup with one of the hottest teams in the league in the rested Philadelphia 76ers, who visit second-seeded Boston for Game 1 of a rivalry-fueled best-of-seven series Monday night. The third-seeded 76ers needed five games to get past Miami in the opening round and have been waiting for an opponent since finishing that series Tuesday night, affording more rest for the team that is far healthier coming into the series. The big question heading into Game 1 will be the status of shooting guard Jaylen Brown, who left the clincher against Milwaukee due to a hamstring injury and is doubtful. Brown averaged 17.9 points against the Bucks, just a shade behind Horford (18.1), who will take on the assignment of matching up with Embiid. 76ers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. Celtics are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Monday games. 76ers are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Boston. |

04-28-18 | Pelicans +9 v. Warriors | Top | 101-123 | Loss | -101 | 11 h 59 m | Show |
Pelicans The New Orleans Pelicans were surprisingly dominant in sweeping the third-seeded Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs, but a much bigger challenge looms. The Pelicans will try to get an early advantage when they visit the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Saturday. New Orleans superstar Anthony Davis averaged 33 points on 57.6 percent shooting and 11.8 rebounds in the four-game sweep of Portland, and the team is not intimidated by facing the defending champs. "Our guys have a hunger and they see an opportunity here and I think we'll play at our highest level and compete like crazy, and then whatever happens from that we're willing to accept," Curry sat out the last 15 games with a knee sprain and is itching to get back on the floor but is still very questionable for tonight. Davis is the unquestioned leader of the team, but guards Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo and power forward Nikola Mirotic are keys to an offense that is running at high speed. Holiday averaged 27.8 points on 56.8 percent shooting against the Trail Blazers while Rondo averaged 13.3 assists. Pelicans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and are 23-9 ATS in their last 32 games overall. Warriors are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games following a straight up win and are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games. |

04-28-18 | Bucks v. Celtics -4.5 | Top | 96-112 | Win | 100 | 8 h 28 m | Show |
Celtics The home team won the first six games of the first-round series between Milwaukee and Boston and Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is out to change that pattern in Saturday's Game 7. The "Greek Freak" can add to his reputation if he can steer Milwaukee past the Celtics in Boston and into the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The second-seeded Celtics weren't supposed to receive such a tussle from the Bucks and are unexpectedly in need of a win to keep their season alive. The failure to close out the series in Milwaukee didn't faze most of the Boston players as they return to a venue in which they have won three times during the playoff matchup. "This is where home-court advantage comes up, where we've been playing the right way all season," second-year shooting guard Jaylen Brown told reporters. "This is where playing the right basketball all year long is going to come to a benefit. Game 7, a lot of people haven't experienced it on this team. It's crazy, and I expect nothing short of a tremendous performance from everybody." Brown (20.5) is one of five Celtics averaging in double digits in the series with center Al Horford (16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds), guard Terry Rozier (16.2), small forward Jayson Tatum (14.7) and power forward Marcus Morris (13.8) being the others. Boston won its three previous home games in the series by an average of 8.3 points. |

04-28-18 | Mariners v. Indians -1.5 | Top | 12-4 | Loss | -111 | 4 h 48 m | Show |
Indians (run-line – 1.5) Slugger Edwin Encarnacion could be starting to break out of an early-season slump and hopes to keep it going when his Cleveland Indians host the Seattle Mariners on Saturday afternoon for the third of a four-game series. Encarnacion, batting .180 overall, was one of five Indians to go deep in a 6-5 victory Friday to extend his hitting streak to six games and he boasts two blasts while registering an RBI in each of his last four games. PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners RH Mike Leake (2-2, 6.59 ERA) vs. Indians RH Carlos Carrasco (4-0, 2.31) Leake began the season with three solid starts, including a win against Cleveland, but has been pounded for 13 runs on 19 hits over 9 1/3 innings in his last two trips to the mound. The 30-year-old Arizona State product, who registered two quality starts in his first three appearances of 2018, gave up eight runs over 3 1/3 innings last time out against the struggling Chicago White Sox. Carrasco has strung together four quality starts and limited Baltimore to one run on six hits and two walks over 7 1/3 innings to earn his fourth win Monday. The 31-year-old Venezuelan allowed five runs across 5 2/3 innings to gain the victory in his season debut at Seattle and yielded four runs total in four outings since - totaling 29 1/3 frames. Robinson Cano is 9-for-23 with two homers and two doubles against Carrasco, who is 4-2 with a 3.49 ERA in seven outings (six starts) versus Seattle. Mariners are 8-21 in their last 29 vs. a team with a winning record. Indians are 14-3 in their last 17 during game 3 of a series and are 36-16 in Carrascos last 52 starts on grass. Mariners are 0-6 in their last 6 Saturday games with Wegner behind home plate. |

04-28-18 | Rays +1.5 v. Red Sox | Top | 12-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 42 m | Show |
Rays (run-line +1.5) Daniel Robertson is establishing himself as an everyday performer and has played a big part in the surprising seven-game winning streak for the Tampa Bay Rays. The versatile infielder, who boasts a .507 on-base percentage overall, looks to extend his hitting streak to eight games when the Rays visit the Boston Red Sox on Saturday afternoon for the middle contest of a three-game series. Robertson is 13-for-27 during his streak and belted his third homer in a 4-3 victory at Boston on Friday while catcher Wilson Ramos launched a two-run blast in the first inning and has hit safely in eight consecutive games (12-for-32). PITCHING MATCHUP: Rays RH Yonny Chirinos (0-1, 2.92 ERA) vs. Red Sox LH David Price (2-2, 2.93) Chirinos has not been as good in his last two starts (eight runs allowed, 10 1/3 innings) as he was in his first two major league starts (10 1/3 scoreless innings, seven hits given up). The 24-year-old Venezuelan struck out a season-high six over 4 2/3 innings while giving up two runs and four hits in a no-decision against Minnesota last time out. Chirinos faced the Red Sox in his first two big-league appearances, yielding four hits across nine scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and one walk. Price suffered his second loss in three starts last Sunday when he surrendered four runs on nine hits over 7 2/3 innings at Oakland in a 4-1 setback. The 32-year-old Vanderbilt product limited the Rays to seven hits in 14 scoreless innings in two starts to open the season but has walked 10 batters in his last four outings (20 2/3 innings). Rays are 6-0 in their last 6 games following a win. |

04-27-18 | Thunder v. Jazz -6 | Top | 91-96 | Loss | -111 | 11 h 55 m | Show |
Jazz The Oklahoma City Thunder staged a comeback for the ages to avoid elimination and now attempt to tie the first-round series against the host Utah Jazz at three games apiece on Friday. Oklahoma City trailed by 25 points with 20 1/2 minutes to play in Wednesday's Game 5 before roaring back to record a 107-99 victory. Point guard Russell Westbrook scored 33 of his 45 points and in the second half while Paul George tallied 21 of his 34 after halftime as the unexpected explosion kept the Thunder alive. The Jazz will need to put the epic collapse behind them after it looked like they were on their way to finishing off Oklahoma City in five games. The Utah collapse occurred during a time center Rudy Gobert picked up his fourth foul and then - after an 81-second return - his fifth foul and there was no recovering from the assault. I look for the Jazz to put that game behind them and close out the series here at home. |

04-27-18 | Cavs v. Pacers -114 | Top | 87-121 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
Pacers As long as LeBron James is on the floor, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to win. James, who beat the buzzer to give his team a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series on Wednesday, will try to lead the Cavaliers into the semifinals when they visit the Indiana Pacers for Game 6 on Friday. James capped off a 44-point, 10-rebound, eight-assist performance by nailing a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Cavaliers a 98-95 victory in Game 5 and their first lead of the series. Indiana guard Victor Oladipo started out hot in the series but is struggling over the last three games and was just 2-of-15 from the floor while scoring 12 points on Wednesday. The All-Star is 12-of-50 over the last three contests after going 20-of-37 in the first two games. He’ll step his game up and return to his old form tonight. Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Pacers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss. Cavaliers are 4-9-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings in Indiana. |

04-25-18 | Jazz +4 v. Thunder | Top | 99-107 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
Jazz The Utah Jazz won the last three games of a contentious Western Conference first-round series and aim to close out Oklahoma City when they visit the Thunder in Wednesday's Game 5. The Jazz averaged 114 points while winning two games on their home floor and now look to hand Oklahoma City a bitter home setback. Standout guard Donovan Mitchell is averaging 27.5 points and 8.5 rebounds as the best player in the series and his 33-point effort in Game 4 represents the most scored by a rookie in franchise playoff history, surpassing Karl Malone (31 in 1986). Rubio is having a solid series with averages of 18.5 points, eight assists, 7.8 rebounds and two steals while small forward Joe Ingles has exposed George the past two games while knocking down 10 3-pointers and averaging 20.5 points. Gobert has recorded three straight double-doubles and is averaging 15.3 points and 11 rebounds in the series. Jazz are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Thunder are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. |

04-25-18 | Pacers +6.5 v. Cavs | Top | 95-98 | Win | 100 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
Pacers Every time it looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers are about to roll over and end their reign atop the Eastern Conference, they bounce right back with a win. The Cavaliers will try to take the lead for the first time in the best-of-seven, first-round series when they host the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 on Wednesday. Cleveland had a chance to take the series lead in Game 3 and could not hold onto a 17-point advantage in a 92-90 loss, but LeBron James took over down the stretch in Game 4 and guided his team to a 104-100 triumph and tie the series at two games apiece. The Pacers are showing plenty of fight in the series and are undaunted by Cleveland taking back homecourt advantage. "It's 0-0 and it's anybody's series right now," center Myles Turner told reporters. "And we've gotta be the hungry team. We've got a road win before, and we gotta go do it again." Indiana placed seven scorers in double figures in the Game 4 loss but All-Star Victor Oladipo struggled to 5-of-20 from the floor and Game 3 hero Bojan Bogdanovic went 4-of-13. Look for both of them to step up their game tonight. Pacers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss and are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Cavaliers are 16-36-1 ATS in their last 53 home games and are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 2 days rest. Pacers are 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Cleveland. |

04-24-18 | Angels v. Astros -142 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -142 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Astros The Houston Astros get their first look at Shohei Ohtani when the Japanese two-way sensation starts on the mound for the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Ohtani departed his last turn after two innings due to a blister on his pitching hand and insisted all along that he would make the start against the defending World Series champions. The Astros had their six-game winning streak halted in Monday's opener of the three-game set as they were blanked 2-0 and managed just four hits in seven innings against Los Angeles starter Tyler Skaggs. The Angels, who are a stellar 10-1 on the road, are just a one-half game behind Houston in the American League West despite winning just two of their last seven contests. Morton leads the AL in ERA and has struck out 33 batters in 25 innings. The 34-year-old, who has given up just 16 hits and six walks, is coming off a victory in which he blanked Seattle on three hits over seven frames. Morton is 3-0 with a 3.14 ERA in five career starts against the Angels and has handled Zack Cozart (1-for-14) and Mike Trout (2-for-11). The Astros outscored the opposition 47-6 during their six-game winning streak and have allowed just 10 runs over their last eight contests. Angels are 3-9 in their last 12 vs. a team with a winning record. Astros are 9-3 in Mortons last 12 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Astros are 5-0 in their last 5 games with Cooper behind home plate. |

04-24-18 | Bucks v. Celtics OVER 202.5 | Top | 87-92 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 37 m | Show |
Bucks/Celtics over Superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo looks to help the Milwaukee Bucks win their third straight postseason game when they visit the Boston Celtics in Tuesday's Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. The "Greek Freak" is enjoying his time in the spotlight and his reputation for being a clutch player took a rise when he tipped in the winning basket with 5.1 seconds left in Game 4 to give the Bucks a series-tying 104-102 victory. Seventh-seeded Milwaukee dropped two games in Boston to start the series before winning the past two at home and will ride its star player as far as possible. The second-seeded Celtics are without their top player in guard Kyrie Irving and are finding themselves in more of a tussle than they were hoping. Shooting guard Jaylen Brown continues to excel while picking up the scoring slack associated with Irving's absence and he had 34 points, eight rebounds and three steals in Game 4. It was the second 30-point effort of the series for Brown, who made five 3-pointers in two of the past three games while averaging a team-best 23.8 points in the series. The over has hit in eight consecutive Boston games to improve to 47-38-1 overall and 25-18 at home this season. The over is on a remarkable 18-2 run for Milwaukee in its past 20 games. The Bucks have seen the over go 50-35-1 overall, 26-17 in their road outings this season. The over is 10-1-1 in Milwaukee’s last 12 games at Boston. The over has hit in six straight head-to-head meetings between these clubs and is 7-1 in eight encounters this season. The over is 13-3-1 in the last 17 games. |

04-23-18 | Thunder v. Jazz -4 | Top | 96-113 | Win | 100 | 11 h 56 m | Show |
Jazz The Utah Jazz stole homecourt advantage in their best-of-seven first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a win on the road in Game 2 and made sure they held onto the edge with an emphatic win in Game 3. The Jazz will try to ride their hot-shooting backcourt to a 3-1 series advantage when they host the Thunder in Game 4 on Monday. Utah went 28-13 at home during the regular season and treated their fans to strong Game 3 effort that included a triple-double from point guard Ricky Rubio and a double-double from shooting guard Donovan Mitchell. Rubio's triple-double mostly came while he was being guarded by reigning MVP Russell Westbrook, who promised to tighten up the defense in Game 4. That’s going to be tough to do. Westbrook, who averaged a triple-double in each of the last two regular seasons, finished with 14 points on 5-of-17 shooting, 11 rebounds and nine assists in Saturday's loss but also committed eight turnovers. Utah enjoyed a 56-37 advantage on the glass in Game 3. Thunder are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 vs. NBA Northwest. Jazz are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Conference Quarterfinals games. Lay the points with the Jazz at home. |
