This conference matchup will have Pac 12 title implications early in the season. The Trojans travel to Stanford looking to continue to turn their season around.
Stanford is looking to go to 3-0 and keep their momentum going to start the season.
USC was beaten down by Alabama in week 1, then bounced back with an easy victory against Utah St. Stanford had an easy victory against Kansas St.
Max Browne and the USC offense have looked stagnant to start the season, even after picking up 45 against Utah St.
The playbook needs to be opened up in order for them to have any shot at beating a tough Stanford team.
I don’t see the passing game doing much in this game. They weren’t able to get much going through the air against Utah St, and the Cardinals defense is one of the toughest in the nation.
Surprisingly the running game has not been able to move the ball with effectiveness either.
Aca’Cedric Ware and Justin Davis will need to be at their best, but I look for them to only total about 100 yards on the ground this week.
Receivers Darreus Rogers and Juju Smith-Schuster should use their height and athleticism in the red zone and each grab a score this week. They should be able to make key plays in the middle of the field and put some pressure off of Browne.
The Trojans defense looked like swiss cheese against Alabama, but rebounded strongly against the Aggies.
This week going up against Christian McCaffrey and the Cardinals offense it should be another long day for them.
Senior QB Ryan Burns had a mediocre game against Kansas St, going 14 of 18 for 156 yards and a touchdown. David Shaw will want to keep this efficient play all season long and have Burns utilize the weapons around him in a strong Pac-12 conference.
Christian McCaffrey started the season off strong, with 126 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground, also catching 7 passes for 40 yards.
He will have another strong game and I expect him to get 300 total yards, rushing, receiving, and returning the ball.
Receiver Michael Rector had 4 receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown against Kansas St. He will have another big game against the trojans and should reach the 100 yard plateau and get a score as well.
The Cardinals defense should spend a lot of time in the USC backfield during this game.
They may give up a couple of big plays in the redzone but I look for them to dominate the trojans in the trenches all game long.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Max Browne throw 3 interceptions and none of the USC running backs make any big plays in the running game.

Free Week 3 NCAA Football Prediction
USC will have a tough time moving the ball down the field against the Cardinals defense. Christian McCaffrey should make a number of big plays to secure an easy Stanford victory.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Stanford ATS, take the under
It’s going to be the Christian McCaffrey this week. He should rack up 4 touchdowns to go along with 300 total yards.
The defense will force Max Browne into key turnovers, which will result in points for the offense. Stanford wins big, and it should be a lower scoring affair.
