The Scarlet Knights get a night game following a bye week as they prepare to pull off a giant upset here in Week 6. Rutgers comes in trying to shock the nation and knock off the #3 Spartans. While the task is obviously going to be extremely tough, the home crowd will be rocking.
Rutgers handled business prior to their bye week as they knocked off the Kansas Jayhawks 27-14.

The Scarlet Knights were led by QB Chris Laviano who threw for a pair of touchdowns on 18 of 25 passing. Laviano hooked up with 9 different receivers in his 18 completions.
The pair of receivers catching Laviano’s touchdowns were Carlton Agudosi and Matt Flanagan. Laviavo also threw for a pair of interceptions in the win.
As far as their running game is concerned, Rutgers had a pair of 100 yard rushers. RBs Josh Hicks and Robert Martin ran for 113 and 102 yards, respectively, as the duo helped Rutgers control the clock.
Michigan State
The Spartans haven’t looked like the #3 team in the nation, but they’re still piling up the wins and continuing to keep pace.
Michigan State nearly was upset at home against a weak Purdue team, but escaped with a 24-21 win. The Spartans were outscored 21-3 in the 2nd half and needed a late stop to avoid a monumental upset.

QB Connor Cook finished with 139 yards on 13 of 19 passing. The win marked his 28th victory as a starting QB at Michigan State. Overall, the Senior is 28-3 in his career as a Spartan.
The running game is what really solidified the Spartans win last week. RB LJ Scott rushed for 146 yards on 18 carries and added a pair of touchdowns to his credit.
Madre London also continued his impressive play as he rushed for 97 yards on 17 carries.
