The Memphis Tigers will try to take their 3-0 record into Oxford and come out remaining unbeaten against the Mississippi Rebels. The Tigers destroyed Bowling Green last week 77-3.
The Rebels are 2-2 and will look to improve their record to over .500. Mississippi lost big leads in both their losses this season, but will look to take advantage of what appears to be a weaker Memphis team.
Mississippi has been in a couple of knock down, drag out fight this year, and found themselves on the wrong end twice after the defense has tanked out before the end of the fourth quarter.
The Rebels built a big lead over both Florida State and Alabama, just to see things slip away as the games came started to approach an end. They were able to build a big lead again last week against Georgia, who didn’t have a strong enough offense to play catch up late in the game.
This week the Rebels will be taking on an offense that has more than enough weapons and strength to not only come back, but can comeback quickly. This game has upset written all over it if Mississippi isn’t careful.
The defense of Mississippi is coming in giving up an average of 30 points per game to a team that was able to put up 77 points last week.
The Tigers had no problem last week racking up 635 total yards on offense. Quarterback Riley Ferguson was able to throw the ball for 295 yards and six touchdowns without throwing an interception.
Each of his six touchdown passes last week were to a different receiver, showing his ability to spread the ball and move things around. Memphis was also able to run the ball for a total of 240 yards rushing.
The Tigers have also been strong on the defensive side of the ball, only allowing 287 yards per game and giving up just 9 points per contest.
This will by far be the biggest test for the Tigers defense so far this season, going up against the SEC’s top quarterback in Chad Kelly.
The Rebels aren’t to bad with the ball themselves, scoring 88 points themselves against Alabama and Georgia.
Memphis will need to go touchdown for touchdown with the Rebels if they want to have a chance.

Free Week 5 NCAA Football Prediction
The Rebels defense has struggled late in games which could lead to a high scoring affair this week. Both of these teams have the offensive power to move the ball up and down the field and put points on the board.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Mississippi -14
Memphis has a strong defense, but they have yet to play an opponent as strong as Mississippi.
The Rebels need to jump ahead early and provide their defense with as much of a cushion as they possibly can.
This game will be a great opportunity for the Rebels defense to show they can protect a lead and take some of the pressure off of Kelly and the offense.
