The Fresno State Bulldogs are trying to get their young team some experience against a very tough foe as they travel to Mississippi to take on the Rebels. The Rebels put up points in bunches last week while the Bulldogs had a good week of their own.
There isn’t much hope being pinned on Fresno State, but they are looking to upset the Rebels in their own house. Ole Miss will do everything they can to use this as a tune-up game for Alabama, who they play in week 3.
The Bulldogs held off Abilene Christian in their week 1 tilt 34-13. The two headed attack at quarterback of Zack Greenlee and Chason Virgil threw for 4 touchdowns in the game. Greenlee was 14 of 32 for 156 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception while Virgil was 8 of 13 for 61 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
On the ground, Marteze Waller led the way and showed his role as a leader on this Bulldog squad. He ran 22 times for 154 yards. Josiah Blandin was the leading receiver with 4 grabs for 71 yards and a score while Jamire Jordan added 41 yards and a score and Chad Olsen had 35 yards and touchdowns on both of his receptions.
The defense was stingy, tallying 5 sacks and 2 interceptions to go with a combined 59 tackles, 8 for loss and 8 passes defended.
Collectively, the Bulldogs defensive only gave up 34 yards to Abilene Christian. Offensively, they racked up 225 yards.
#17 Ole Miss
One of the biggest stories from week one was the 76-3 beatdown of UT-Martin. Between defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche catching a 31 yard touchdown pass to three quarterbacks throwing five touchdowns, the Rebels had no shortage of big plays.
Five receivers had touchdown catches while four different players combined for 5 touchdowns. Eugene Brazley had 88 yards and a touchdown, DK Buford had 68 yards and a touchdown and Jaylen Walton had 65 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Chad Kelly had a rushing touchdown as well.
On defense, Trae Elston had an interception and took it back 93 yards and AJ Moore added a sack. Moore also had a forced fumble as did Terry Caldwell.
Nkemdiche had 3 tackles, one blocked kick and a quarterback hit.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
A 30 point spread is a tough one to overcome in most cases. While Fresno State’s defense looked good last week, this is a whole other story.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: #17 Ole Miss -30
They put up 70+ last week and could very easily come close to that again. 30 points shouldn’t be an issue here.
