This is one of those games that is a reminder of how much football there really is out there. There is no real juice to it in terms of teams, conferences or anything that is at stake.
Even the timing is such that you will probably lose track of it unless you got a paycheck or a beer on it (please don’t say pay check). I guess it is a nice trip for Buffalo to head to Reno (the other Vegas).

Buffalo may not have notched a win yet but Nevada’s lone win is over FCS Cal Poly – SLO and they needed overtime to get it.
I will expand on it below but that is a game they probably should have lost. I am surprised that they are such significant favourites in this one.
Buffalo Bulls
The Bulls have only played one game and it couldn’t have gone worse as they lost at home vs. Albany as 21 point favourites.
This was always going to be a rebuilding year for the Bulls but that effort shows the reconstruction efforts are going to be bigger than expected.
They may not have a quarterback and that is going to make it very hard to win against anybody, home or away. Coach Leipold is going to have to get used to losing more than he ever has.

The bright spot for the Bulls were that they were able to run the ball, though that should be a given when you are taking on an FCS opponent.
They threw three interceptions and had nine penalties to negate this advantage which won’t be as strong against Nevada, if it exists at all.
A cleaner game will make a difference but it won’t be enough to win on the road.
Were it against a stronger opponent the line might be more like +28. Buffalo could be the worst team in the MAC this season.
Nevada Wolfpack
Things may be pretty bleak for Buffalo right now but they are not much brighter for Nevada, who has an overtime FCS win and a loss to Notre Dame on their resume.
Its not that long ago that win or lose the Wolfpack could crank out big time yards with their Pistol offense.
They are struggling on offense to start the season. In fact they are struggling in all phases of the game right now. They have not covered in either of their games this season.

The Bulls are not going to ram it down their throat but there has to be concern about the fact that Cal Poly ran for 383 yards against Nevada in the opener.
Notre Dame only got 239 but odds are they could have won that game just as easily without throwing a single pass.
They know how they will be attacked which means they should have a game plan in place.

Free Week 3 NCAA Football Prediction
Nevada has to be able to defend its own turf if they are going to have any kind of a season this season. At first I was surprised at the size of the line but the more you look at these teams the more it makes sense.
Feel free to skip this one though.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Nevada -10.5
Nevada is a bad team so my first reaction was how can they be such heavy favourites in this one.
They probably shouldn’t be given that both teams are poor so I think there is some manipulation here by the oddsmakers to get some action on the game.
Still I would rather go with Nevada than Buffalo.
