05-30-18 | Capitals v. Golden Knights OVER 5.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -125 | 41 h 11 m | Show
TOP RATED STANLEY CUP FINALS GAME 2 TOTAL The Vegas Golden Knights opened the Stanley Cup Finals with a dramatic 6-4 triumph. It was a wide open affair with four lead changes and I predict more of the same here in Game 2. This is simply the way Vegas plays, especially home at T-Mobile Arena. Over is 5-1 in Golden Knights last 6 home games and we can note that Washington has scored a healthy 3.64 gpg through its 11 away games here in the postseason. 10* play on OVER. |
05-28-18 | Capitals v. Golden Knights -110 | Top | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 82 h 38 m | Show |
GAME OF THE YEAR (NHL) The Vegas Golden Knights will host the Washington Capitals for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals Monday night. What Vegas has done this season is sensational. In the last 50 years, only one other franchise from either the NHL, MLB, NBA or NFL/AFL has reached the championship series (or game) in its inaugural season, and I think Vegas' success will continue here in front of the home fans where it is 15-1 in its last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Home ice and advantage should mean a lot here, and we can also note that Vegas won both of the regular season meetings, including a 3-0 triumph here at T-Mobile Arena. The bookmakers are not giving Vegas enough credit, and I see amazing value on the home team here in the opener of the Stanley Cup Finals. 10* NHL Game of the Year: Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-23-18 | Capitals v. Lightning -140 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -140 | 22 h 40 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NHL) The Washington Capitals managed to force a deciding Game 7 of this Eastern Conference Finals series with a 3-0 triumph at home, but I like Tampa Bay to bounce back and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. For the third time in the past four years, the Lightning will play Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals so there's no doubt they know what it's all about. "I think Game 7 is something that everybody looks forward to, at least I do. I take pleasure in playing a Game 7. I think it's one of the most exciting moments in sports," said Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman, who has a 7-1 career record playing in Game 7. "I think you just have to embrace it, really just have fun with it. I think what it's all about. Usually if you have an open mindset, follow the game plan you set up, you are going to enjoy it. You will most of the time also have a good result." Lightning are 4-0 in their last four games following a loss of three or more goals and 6-1 in their last seven after scoring two goals or fewer in their previous game. 10* NHL Game of the Month: Tampa Bay Lightning. |
05-20-18 | Golden Knights +131 v. Jets | Top | 2-1 | Win | 131 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
TOP RATED NHL *POWER PLAY* The Winnipeg Jets took the opener of the Western Conference Finals, but they've dropped three games since. The Vegas Golden Knights own all the momentum and are now in a position to move onto the Stanley Cup Finals in their inaugural season. I don't think Vegas can afford to give its opponent a chance to get in the series, and Vegas forward James Neal seem to agree. "We're one win away, of course, but we have to keep battling," he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "We can't take our foot off the gas now. We have to continue to grow and get better, and we'll do that." 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-18-18 | Jets v. Golden Knights -110 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show |
TOP RATED JETS @ VEGAS *POWER PLAY* The Vegas Golden Knights hold a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals after taking a game at Winnipeg and defending home ice with a 4-2 victory in Game 3 Wednesday night. They've been hard to beat at home all season and are now 5-1 at home in the playoff and get another shot at showcasing their talent in front of the home town crowd at T-Mobile Arena Friday night. Vegas netminder Marc-Andre Fleury is on fire and made 33 saves on Wednesday to improve to 10-3 with a 1.70 GAA and a .945 save percentage in the postseason this year. I'm looking for the home team to get the job done here. 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-17-18 | Lightning v. Capitals -105 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -105 | 22 h 3 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Tampa Bay Lightning dropped the first two games of the series at home, but came back strong with a 4-2 victory here at Capital One Arena Tuesday night. Perhaps the Lightning felt they deserved a night off after back-to-back wins at Tampa, but I don't see them giving up their home ice advantage with another loss tonight. "We weren't playing as sharp as we normally can," Capitals coach Barry Trotz told nhl.com. "We weren't executing the way we normally did in the last couple of games. We were just off a little bit, and you can't be off in this game to have success. We will be better next game." Washington's Nicklas Backstrom has missed the last four games with an injured hand, but the center has been skating with the team and participated in Wednesday's optional practice. Getting him back here would be a huge boost for the home team. 10* NHL Game of the Week: Washington Capitals. |
05-16-18 | Jets v. Golden Knights -130 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show |
TOP RATED WINNIPEG @ VEGAS *POWER PLAY* The Vegas Golden Knights stole home ice advantage with 3-1 victory in Game 2 at Winnipeg. The Knights were 29-10-2 at home during the regular season at T-Mobile Arena and are 4-1 there in the playoffs. They're 14-2 in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and I think they'll defend home ice here in Sin City Wednesday night. "Every time we need a big game out of our group, we show up,” Vegas forward Jonathan Marchessault told the media after Monday's game. "I think we showed the hockey world that we earned the right to be here, and we are able to play against a great team." 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-12-18 | Golden Knights +130 v. Jets | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 19 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Vegas Golden Knights have had plenty of rest since finishing off San Jose in six games last Sunday while the Winnipeg is coming off a Game 7 victory over Nashville only a couple of days ago. The Jets are never easy to beat home at Bell MTS Place, but I think the visitors rest advantage is too much to overcome. Golden Knights are 11-2 in their last 13 vs. a team with a winning record, 5-1 in their last six games playing on three or more days rest and 4-1 in their last five road games. 10* Game of the Week: Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-10-18 | Jets v. Predators UNDER 5.5 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -120 | 21 h 48 m | Show |
TOP RATED JETS @ PREDS GAME 7 SHOWDOWN The Nashville Predators and the Winnipeg Jets are set for a Game 7 showdown at Bridgestone Arena Thursday night. It has been an entertaining back-and-forth series so far with neither team able to win consecutive games, but I think we'll see a low-scoring thriller here. The Preds played aggressive D and shut out the Jets in their 4-0 Game 6 triumph, and both teams are likely to put a big focus on their defensive duties in this winner-take-all situation. 10* play on WIN @ NSH to go UNDER the total. |
05-07-18 | Predators v. Jets -145 | 4-0 | Loss | -145 | 13 h 1 m | Show
NHL *NO-BRAINER* The Winnipeg Jets own a 3-2 series lead and can move into the Western Conference finals with a victory on home ice Monday night. They're one of the absolute strongest home teams in the league and have won 13 of their last 14 games at Bell MTS Centre. Winnipeg put four goals past Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne before he was chased off the ice in Saturday’s 6-2 road triumph, and Rinne has posted a sub-par 3.23 GAA in the playoffs so far. The Jets come in ranked 1st in scoring in the postseason at 3.80 goals per game, and even though the Preds have their backs against the wall here I just don't see them doing enough to slow down the home team. 8* play on Winnipeg Jets. |
05-06-18 | Golden Knights +130 v. Sharks | Top | 3-0 | Win | 130 | 17 h 19 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Vegas Golden Knights own a 3-2 series lead following a 5-3 victory in Game 5 on Friday. Vegas might be a first-year team, but its roster still has plenty of playoff experience. The Golden Knights are 3-1 away from Sin City during the postseason and no strangers to win here in the Shark Tank. We can also note that Sharks netminder Martin Jones was just 1-2 with a 3.32 GAA and a .899 SV% against Vegas during the regular season. I think the Golden Knights will be heading to the Western Conference final when the fat lady sings. 10* NHL Game of the Week on Vegas Golden Knights. |
05-04-18 | Lightning +135 v. Bruins | 4-3 | Win | 135 | 14 h 49 m | Show
NHL *POWER PLAY* The Boston Bruins won the opener of this Eastern Conference semifinals series, but the Lightning but have recorded back-to-back wins since to take command of this series. Historically, the Lightning have not had that much success at TD Garden, but they will no doubt be strengthened by their 4-1 victory here on Wednesday and have all the momentum. 8* play on Tampa Bay Lightning. |
04-30-18 | Golden Knights +118 v. Sharks | Top | 4-3 | Win | 118 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *POWER PLAY* The Vegas Golden Knights opened this series with a 7-0 triumph, but the San Jose Sharks managed to steal home ice advantage (at least temporarily) with a 4-3 double-overtime victory Saturday. The Sharks rallied from a two-goal deficit with three straight goals in the second period, but it's worrisome that they even found themselves in that situation. Vegas blanked the Kings twice and limited them to three goals in a first-round sweep, and its defense might very well be the difference now when the series move to the Shark Tank where Vegas went 1-0-1 during the regular season. I think we're getting too good of a price on the visitors here to pass up on. 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
04-29-18 | Penguins v. Capitals -114 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 37 h 47 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NHL) The Washington Capitals need a win after a third-period rally earned the Pens a 3-2 win in the series opener Thursday night. The Caps will no doubt be desperate to avoid heading to Pittsburgh down 2-0 in the series, but they're unlikely to panic and freeze up as they're no strangers to being behind in a series, having lost the first two games at home to Columbus before winning four straight in the opening round. Motivation beats talent in this contest. 10* NHL Game of the Month on Washington Capitals. |
04-27-18 | Jets v. Predators -150 | 4-1 | Loss | -150 | 6 h 27 m | Show
FRIDAY NIGHT NHL *POWER PLAY* The Nashville Predators finished 3-1-1 against the Jets in the regular season and they had one of the best home records in the league. The Jets are in the postseason for the first time since 2014-15 and just the second time since their move from Atlanta while the Preds will be looking to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals for a second straight season. Nashville has won four of the last five meetings at Bridgestone Arena, and I expect the playoff-proven Preds to come through in front of a fanatic home town crowd Friday night. 8* play on Nashville Predators. |
04-26-18 | Penguins v. Capitals -120 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 33 m | Show |
TOP RATED PENS @ CAPS BEST BET The Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins will do battle in the opener of their Eastern Conference semifinal series Thursday night. The Pens have owned their Metropolitan Division rival in the postseason in recent years, but I like Washington to claim this game. History doesn't seem to scare the Caps; "There's not a person in our locker room or on our coaching staff that doesn't want to play the Penguins," Washington coach Barry Trotz said. "It's probably fitting. We're actually quite excited about it. They're two good teams. They always have been, and you get another match. It's all good." Note that Pittsburgh will be without two key players tonight. Center Evgeni Malkin (who led Pittsburgh in scoring in the regular season) and Carl Hagelin have both been ruled out for this contest because of unspecified injuries. 10* play on Washington Capitals. |
04-23-18 | Bruins v. Maple Leafs +113 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 113 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Toronto Maple Leafs face elimination Monday night as the Boston Bruins take a 3-2 series lead into Game 6 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. We can however note that the Bruins are just 1-5 in their last six road games while the Leafs are 5-1 in their last six home games vs. a team with a winning road record, and I think Toronto will live to fight another day. The Maple Leafs will be strengthened by their 4-3 at Boston Saturday night and they've won five of the last six meetings at home. Excellent price on the desperate Leafs here, making it well worth to up the stake. 10* NHL Game of the Week: Toronto Maple Leafs. |
04-17-18 | Golden Knights +111 v. Kings | Top | 1-0 | Win | 111 | 21 h 29 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *POWER PLAY* The Vegas Golden Knights can advance to the second round with a victory at LA Tuesday night after scoring three third-period goals en route to a 3-2 victory in Game 3 here at Staples Center Sunday night. The Kings will no doubt be desperate, but do not underestimate this Vegas team which has shown no sign of buckling under the postseason pressure. Golden Knights might be a new franchise, but their roster has a veteran core with deep playoff experience. "A lot of these guys have been there before," Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said after the last win. "Deryk Engelland, James Neal, (Marc-Andre) Fleury, they talk to the players about being composed." The price is right to back the visitors with a big bet. 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
04-16-18 | Ducks v. Sharks -136 | Top | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 14 h 47 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *POWER PLAY The San Jose Sharks have taken a commanding lead in this series after back-to-back wins at Anaheim. The Sharks are 5-0-1 against the Ducks this season and I don't see them giving anything for free here in Game 3 of this playoff series. "We've all been around this league a long time and know that team over there has been in this position before and they have been able to claw their way back into a series," San Jose forward Logan Couture said. "We know how important the next game is." San Jose was 25-13-2 home in the Shark Tank during the regular season while the Ducks were a 18-15-3 on the road. 10* play on San Jose Sharks. |
04-15-18 | Penguins -108 v. Flyers | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 34 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Pittsburgh Penguins opened this series with an emphatic 7-0 victory, but Philadelphia came back strong in Game 2 to leave Pittsburgh off a 5-1 victory. For the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, this was their first loss in six games against the Flyers this season. Philly now owns home ice advantage, but I expect the Pens to come out angry and desperate here to earn it right back. Note that the Penguins are 4-1 in their last five games following a home loss of three or more goals and 8-2 in their last 10 Conference Quarterfinals games. 10* play on Pittsburgh Penguins. |
04-14-18 | Sharks v. Ducks -126 | 3-2 | Loss | -126 | 10 h 16 m | Show
NHL *POWER PLAY* The San Jose Sharks put a 3-0 beating on the Anaheim Ducks in the first game of the series. I think they're in a let down spot here after stealing home ice advantage, and I fully expect the Ducks to come out angry and determined. 8* play on Anaheim Ducks. |
04-12-18 | Sharks v. Ducks -137 | 3-0 | Loss | -137 | 20 h 50 m | Show
NHL *POWER PLAY* The Anaheim Ducks closed out the regular season on a five-game winning streak (10-1-1 last 12 games) while the San Jose Sharks dropped five of their last six. The results saw the Ducks overtake San Jose in the Western Conference standings and earned them home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Ducks' John Gibson set a career best with 31 wins and posted a 2.43 goals-against average in 60 games, while Ryan Miller went 12-6-6 with a 2.35 GAA. We can also note that Miller is 7-0-2 with a 1.97 GAA in 10 games at Honda Center this season. San Jose on the other hand has had its issues on the defensive end and Martin Jones finished the regular season with a career-worst 2.55 GAA. Better options in the crease, positive momentum and home ice advantage give Anaheim the upper hand in this contest. 8* play on Anaheim Ducks. |
04-07-18 | Stars +1.5 v. Kings | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show
SATURDAY NIGHT *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Dallas Stars will play on no rest following a 5-3 setback at Anaheim on Friday. They have no shot at making the playoffs, but I still expect them to come up with a decent effort here in their last contest of the season. The Kings have won four straight here at Staples Center and try to earn home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, but they needed OT to get past Minnesota their last time out. The road team is 6-1 in the last seven meetings and we can note that LA is just 18-32 against the puckline as a favorite this season. 8* play on Dallas Stars +1.5. |
04-05-18 | Bruins -121 v. Panthers | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -121 | 14 h 4 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Boston Bruins are tied with Tampa Bay for first place in the Atlantic Division with a game in hand. They'll be looking to bounce back from a pair of losses, the most recent a humbling 4-0 loss to the Lightning. The Bruins are 20-8 in their last 28 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game and a dominant 21-5 in the last 26 meetings with the Florida Panthers who are four points behind Philadelphia for the second wild card in the East with three games to go. Sure, the home team will be desperate for a win to keep its postseason dream alive, but the Bruins will also be fired up to end their two-game skid and I don't think they would mind playing the spoiler for their division rival here. 10* NHL Game of the Week play on Boston Bruins. |
04-03-18 | Bruins +109 v. Lightning | Top | 0-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 20 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *POWER PLAY* The Tampa Bay Lightning have dropped four of their last five games, including a 4-2 loss at Boston last Thursday. Their captain Steven Stamkos is questionable here after suffering a lower-body injury in Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Nashville. The Bruins on the other hand had won four of five prior to a 4-3 OT loss at Philadelphia on Sunday. They've dominated the Lightning in recent seasons, winning five straight and eight of the last nine meetings. Lightning are 1-5 in their last six vs. a team with a winning % above .600, and I think the price is right to back the visitors in this matchup. 10* play on Boston Bruins. |
03-31-18 | Wild -111 v. Stars | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -111 | 21 h 14 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Dallas Stars have dropped nine of their last 10 (including a 5-2 loss at Minnesota Thursday night), and it's now all but impossible for them to reach the playoffs. The Minnesota Wild meanwhile are enter Saturday 3rd in the Central Division, five points up on the chasing Blues. The deciding factor here is the play in the defensive zone, with the Stars giving up an average of 3.8 goals per game through their last 10 games while the Wild have conceded just seven through their last four. Wild are 6-0 in their last six in the second game of a home-and-home situation and 5-1 in the last six meetings with Dallas. 10* NHL Game of the Week on Minnesota Wild. |
03-30-18 | Hurricanes +1.5 v. Capitals | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 20 h 46 m | Show
NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* This will be the fourth meeting of the season. The Washington Capitals have won a couple of one-goal games at Carolina while the Hurricanes won 3-1 here at Capital One Arena on Jan. 11. Carolina is currently nine points out of the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings and a loss here would officially eliminate the Canes from playoff contention. They most likely won't make the playoffs anyhow, but at they're still putting up a fight and had won three straight prior to a 4-3 loss to New Jersey on Tuesday. The Caps are sitting comfortably at the top of the Metropolitan Division and have won five straight, three by one goal and two by two goals. Carolina is a solid 24-10 against the puckline as an underdog this season. 8* play on Carolina Hurricanes +1.5. |
03-28-18 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Golden Knights | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Vegas Golden Knights have made their backers plenty money during their inaugural season. They're however just 3-2-2 through their last seven games, and here they'll face an Arizona Coyotes team which defeated the Lightning 4-1 at Tampa Bay their last time out to improve to 14-7-2 in their last 23 contests. "I think we're trying to treat every game like a playoff game and we kind of get up for that," said rookie Clayton Keller after the win. The Yotes should be well up for this game after losing each of the first four meetings with the Knights. My selection is a 10* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
03-26-18 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Lightning | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Tampa Bay Lightning own the best record in the East, but they took a 2-1 loss at New Jersey on Saturday and I think the visiting Arizona Coyotes will give them a tough game here Monday night. Note that Tampa Bay has failed to cover the puckline in five of its last seven wins while the Yotes are 40-26 against the puckline on the season. Arizona is 13-8-2 straight up in its past 22 games and should be able to take advantage of a Tampa Bay defense which has allowed three or more goals 11 times through its last 16 games. My selection is an 8* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
03-26-18 | Red Wings v. Canadiens -140 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK Neither the Montreal Canadiens nor the Detroit Red Wings will make the playoffs, and both teams have put up pretty pathetic results lately with the Red Wings winning only one of their last 13 games and the Habs going 3-9-2 here in March. We can however note that Montreal is 6-2 in its last eight when taking on a team with a winning % below .400 and 7-1 in the last eight meetings with the Red Wings at Bell Centre. The Red Wings have lost 10 straight on the road while Montreal has played decent hockey in front of the home town crowd for most of the season. My selection is an 8* play on Montreal Canadiens. |
03-26-18 | Panthers -140 v. Islanders | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The New York Islanders are 6-14-5 since the All-Star break to fall into last place in the Metropolitan Division. A loss here would officially eliminate the them from playoff contention, and that's exactly what I predict will happen. The Florida Panthers have won three of four to move within three points of the Devils for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference and they're 19-6-1 over their last 26 games, a run that started with a 4-1 win over the Islanders on Jan 29. Panthers are 6-0 in their last six road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Islanders are 1-6 in their last seven home games. My selection is an 8* play on Florida Panthers. |
03-24-18 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Panthers | 2-4 | Loss | -160 | 17 h 20 m | Show
NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Florida Panthers seek to bounce back from a 4-0 loss at Columbus and continue their battle for an Eastern Conference playoff spot with a matchup against the Arizona Coyotes Saturday night. The Yotes have been out of playoff contention for quite some time, but that fact has not stopped them from playing competitive hockey down the stretch, and they had won back-to-back games prior to a 6-5 loss at Carolina on Thursday. The Yotes are 22-13 against the puckline on the road this season. The Panthers won 3-2 at Arizona back in December, and six of the last eight meetings have been decided by a single goal. My selection is an 8* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
03-24-18 | Blues v. Blue Jackets -145 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -145 | 19 h 51 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) This is a tough scheduling spot for the St. Louis Blues as they'll play on no rest following a 4-1 victory over Vancouver on Friday. They're 2-10 in their last 12 vs. a team with a winning record, and here they'll face a surging Columbus team which has won 10 straight games to move into third place in the Metropolitan Division with another win tonight. The Blue Jackets are coming off a 4-0 home triumph over Florida on Thursday and a perfect 8-0 in their last eight games playing on one days rest. Home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings. My NHL Game of the Week is a 10* play on Columbus Blue Jackets. |
03-22-18 | Coyotes +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show
NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Arizona Coyotes will be playing their third game in four nights, but they have good momentum after defeating Calgary and Buffalo in their last two games. Here they'll face a Carolina Hurricanes team which has lost six of its last eight contests to fall nine points behind New Jersey for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, and the morale must be quite low at this point. The road team is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings, and we can note that Arizona is a solid 39-25 against the puckline as an underdog on the season while Carolina is an abysmal 11-29 against the puckline as a favorite. My selection is an 8* play on Arizona Coyotes +1.5. |
03-20-18 | Panthers v. Senators +120 | 7-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 34 m | Show
NHL *POWER PLAY* The Ottawa Senators are having a rough season, but they had won three straight before falling 2-1 at the white hot Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. They'll host a Florida Panthers side which will play its third game in four nights (and fourth in six) after beating the Habs 2-0 at Montreal last night. The Panthers should have plenty of motivation as they're battling for a playoff spot in the East, entering Tuesday three behind New Jersey for the second wild card, but I think the home team's rest advantage will be too much to overcome here. My selection is an 8* play on Ottawa Senators. |
03-20-18 | Flyers -138 v. Red Wings | 4-5 | Loss | -138 | 10 h 25 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Philadelphia Flyers opened the month by losing seven of their first eight games, but they head to Motor City off back-to-back wins against Carolina and Washington. They'll face a Detroit team which has lost 10 straight games, and this is a tough spot for the Red Wings as they've just returned home from a five-game road trip. The Flyers are 8-1 in their last nine vs. a team with a losing record and have won four of the last five meetings with the Red Wings. They should have no trouble to bag the win here. My selection is an 8* play on Philadelphia Flyers. |
03-20-18 | Blue Jackets v. Rangers +140 | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 16 m | Show
NHL DOG OF THE DAY The Columbus Blue Jackets travel to Madison Square Garden riding an eight-game winning streak, but they're in a tough spot here coming off a 5-4 overtime triumph in Boston last night. This will be their third game in four nights while the host New York Rangers should be well rested since a 4-3 overtime loss in St. Louis on Saturday. The Rangers are 9-3 in their last 12 games playing on two days rest and I think the rest advantage will be a huge one here this late in the season. My selection is an 8* play on New York Rangers. |
03-19-18 | Flames -113 v. Coyotes | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -113 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *POWER PLAY* The Calgary Flames are just 3-6-1 in their last 10 and need to start winning games again to not watch their playoff hopes disappear completely as they enter the new week four points out of the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. This looks like a good spot for the Flames as they've won four straight matchups at NHL-worst Arizona Coyotes who are coming off back-to-back home losses. The Flames will play their third game in four nights and on no rest following a 4-0 loss at Vegas on Sunday, but they're 12-5 in their last 17 games following a loss of three or more goals and 16-5 in their last 21 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. My selection is a 10* play on Calgary Flames. |
03-17-18 | Rangers +1.5 v. Blues | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 20 h 48 m | Show
NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The St. Louis Blues had scored 11 goals in back-to-back victories before taking a 4-1 home loss to Colorado on Thursday. They're just 1-7 in their last eight after scoring two goals or fewer in their previous game. The Blues enter this game four points behind the Stars for the second wild card and need wins badly while the Rangers have little to play for, but I still like the visitors to keep it a close game at Scottrade Center Saturday night. The Rangers are coming off back-to-back triumphs to improve to 5-2-2 in their last nine games. They defeated the Penguins 4-3 in OT on Wednesday and are a solid 9-2 in their last 11 games playing on two days rest. My selection is an 8* play on New York Rangers +1.5. |
03-15-18 | Blue Jackets +107 v. Flyers | Top | 5-3 | Win | 107 | 15 h 41 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NHL) The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Sharks 4-2 on the road on March 4 and have followed that up with four straight victories at home. They've outscored the opposition 21-11 during their win streak and I expect them to keep rolling when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday night. The slumping Flyers have dropped six of their last seven games and scored two goals or fewer in all but one of those contests. Philadelphia netminder Petr Mrazek has conceded 22 goals in his last six outings while Columbus' Sergei Bobrovsky is 9-4 with a 1.82 GAA in his career against the Flyers. Philly picked up a pair of 2-1 triumphs over Columbus back in February, but the Blue Jackets are still 14-5 in the last 19 meetings in the series and I absolutely love the price we get on them in this contest. My NHL Game of the Month is a 10* play on Columbus Blue Jackets. |
03-14-18 | Devils v. Golden Knights UNDER 5.5 | 8-3 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 56 m | Show
NHL TOTAL *NO-BRAINER* The Vegas Golden Knights are back home from a five-game road trip that started with a 3-2 win at New Jersey on March 4. None of those five games saw more than five goals and I think we'll see another relatively low-scoring contest when they host the New Jersey Devils Wednesday night. New Jersey is coming off a 3-2 shootout victory at Nashville on Saturday and under is 9-1-1 in Devils last 11 overall. Neither team is clicking offensively at the moment, and strongly doubt this game will go over the total. My selection is an 8* play on NJ @ LV to go UNDER the total. |
03-14-18 | Canucks v. Ducks -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 127 | 21 h 50 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The Anaheim Ducks are in dire need of a win after dropping three on the bounce and consequently dropping out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Taking on the lowly Vancouver Canucks could be just what they need to get back on track as they've won the last three meetings by a combined 13-2 margin and the Nucks enter this game on a four-game skid during which they've scored a total of just three goals. The Ducks are 5-0 in their last five home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and had covered the puckline as a favorite in three straight home wins before taking a 4-2 loss to St. Louis their last time out. My selection is a 10* play on Anaheim Ducks -1.5. |
03-12-18 | Canucks v. Kings -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 143 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL *PUCKLINE PUNISHER* The LA Kings will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing home loss to St. Louis on Saturday. "I’ll be honest with you, sometimes getting pummeled 7-2 may be easier than losing 2-1 or 3-2,” Los Angeles captain Anze Kopitar told reporters. “I don’t think a whole lot needs to be said. I’m sure each and every one of us know what we got to do and we have to play harder and with a lot more emotion." The last time Los Angeles lost by at least five goals on its home ice was 7-2 against the Stars back in 2008, and this will be a double-revenge spot for LA as it also seek to avenge a 6-2 loss to the Nucks on Jan. 23. The Vancouver Canucks look like an easy victim, coming off three straight losses and winning just one of their last seven games. I don't see them keeping up with a fired up home team here. My selection is a 10* play on LA Kings -1.5. |
03-12-18 | Hurricanes -143 v. Rangers | 3-6 | Loss | -143 | 7 h 8 m | Show
NHL *NO-BRAINER* The Carolina Hurricanes should be the more motivated of the two teams when they visit the New York Rangers Monday night. The Canes enter the new week six points behind the Blue Jackets for the final wild card in the East, with 14 games left to make up the deficit, while the Rangers are all but out of the playoff picture. Carolina is 3-6-2 in its last 11 games but picked up an important 3-2 win at Chicago on Thursday. The Canes will be playing on a solid three days of rest, they are 11-3 in their last 14 vs. a team with a losing record and they'll face a fatigued Rangers side which will play its third game in four nights. With New York just 1-4 in its last five in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and 1-6 in its last seven games playing on one days rest I think this is a good spot to back Carolina. My selection is an 8* play on Carolina Hurricanes. |
03-10-18 | Blues v. Kings -155 | 7-2 | Loss | -155 | 17 h 29 m | Show
NHL *MONEYLINE MASSACRE* The LA Kings are 7-3-0 since Feb. 17 while the St. Louis Blues are an NHL-worst 1-7-2 since Feb. 11, scoring two goals or fewer eight times. "It's the first time we've had everyone healthy," Los Angeles forward Tanner Pearson said. "We look to have a good stretch going down here and string some wins together and keep staying in the playoffs." The Kings have won 12 of the last 14 meetings at Staples Center and they'll be looking to avenge a 4-2 setback at St. Louis on Oct. 30. My selection is an 8* play on Los Angeles Kings. |
03-10-18 | Golden Knights v. Sabres +1.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 19 m | Show
SUPER EARLY PUCKLINE PUNISHER This looks like a tough spot for the Vegas Golden Knights as they're asked to play their fourth straight on the road in less than a week. The Buffalo Sabres are just 10-19-3 home at KeyBank Center, but they've won four of their last six overall and 39-22 against the puckline on the season. My selection is an 8* play on Buffalo Sabres +1.5. |
03-09-18 | Wild -150 v. Canucks | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 57 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The Vancouver Canucks have lost four of their last five, including a 2-1 home loss against Arizona on Wednesday. They'll be without 21-year-old rookie sensation Brock Boeser who is out with a back injury. Here they'll host a Minnesota Wild team which has won two on the bounce and seven of its last nine. The Wild took down Carolina 6-2 on Tuesday so they'll have momentum and an extra day of rest compared to the Nucks. Wild are 4-0 in their last four games playing on two days rest and 16-5 in their last 21 when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game. Minnesota will be fired up for this one to avoid getting swept in the season series after losing the first two meetings. My selection is an 8* play on Minnesota Wild. |
03-06-18 | Golden Knights -107 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Vegas Golden Knights snapped a three-game skid with a 3-2 win at New Jersey on Sunday. They're 21-6 in their last 27 games playing on one days rest and 22-7 in their last 29 after allowing two goals or fewer in their previous game. The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Sharks 4-2 at San Jose on Sunday to avoid traveling back home from a three-game trek empty handed. Tough spot for Columbus here though, playing its fourth game in six nights. Note that the Blue Jackets are 1-5 in their last six in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and just 3-11 in their last 14 games following a win. Excellent price on Vegas, and I'm putting in a BIG BET on the visitors! My NHL Game of the Week is a 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
03-05-18 | Coyotes v. Oilers UNDER 5.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 41 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY (TOTAL) The Arizona Coyotes are 7-2-0 in their last nine games thanks to terrific play on the defensive end of the rink, allowing a total of just 16 goals during that stretch. They're coming off a 2-1 triumph against Ottawa and under is 6-2 in Coyotes last eight after allowing two goals or less in their previous game and 8-2-2 in their last 12 Monday games. The Edmonton Oilers have conceded 12 goals while losing three in a row, but should be able to handle an Arizona team that is averaging only 2.41 gpg on the season. Arizona defeated the Oilers 1-0 back in February. Under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall and 4-1 in the last five meetings at Edmonton. My selection is a 10* play on ARI @ EDM to go UNDER the total. |
03-04-18 | Blue Jackets v. Sharks -141 | 4-2 | Loss | -141 | 10 h 41 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The San Jose Sharks have opened a six-game home stand with dominant wins against Edmonton (5-2) and Chicago (7-2). They've won the last four meetings with the Columbus Blue Jackets and should keep rolling here. Columbus is coming off back-to-back defeats and is just 4-9 in its last 13 vs. a team with a winning record. My selection is an 8* play on San Jose Sharks. |
03-04-18 | Golden Knights -115 v. Devils | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 31 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The Vegas Golden Knights have lost three in a row following a 5-4 loss to Ottawa at T-Mobile Arena Friday night. It's just their third three-game losing streak this season though, and they enter Sunday four points behind Nashville for first place in the Western Conference and own an eight-point lead atop the Pacific Division. I like Vegas to bounce back here against the New Jersey Devils who have dropped four of their last six. They fell 3-2 at Florida on Thursday and 3-1 at Carolina Friday night. Tough spot here playing their third game in four nights. We can also note that Golden Knights are 8-1 in their last nine Sunday games while Devils are 2-9 in their last 11 Sunday games. My selection is a 10* play on Vegas. |
02-28-18 | Red Wings +135 v. Blues | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 32 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The St. Louis Blues took an 8-3 beating at Minnesota last night and have now lost seven straight games (0-6-1). Here they'll face a Detroit team which opened a five-game road trip with a 3-2 overtime victory over the fading New York Rangers on Sunday. I absolutely love the price we get on the rested away team in this contest. Note that the Red Wings are 6-2 in their last eight road games vs. a team with a winning home record and the road team is 11-1 in the last 12 meetings. My selection is a 10* play on Detroit Red Wings. |
02-27-18 | Blues v. Wild -145 | 3-8 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The St. Louis Blues have lost six straight and they've been shut out while giving up for in each of their last two games. Here they'll face a red hot Minnesota side which is coming off four straight wins and scoring 16 goals in the process. Wild are 14-3 in their last 17 when their opponent scores two goals or fewer in their previous game and 16-6 in their last 22 home games. I can't find any reason not to back Minnesota in this matchup. My selection is an 8* play on Minnesota Wild. |
02-26-18 | Flyers -120 v. Canadiens | Top | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 39 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Philadelphia Flyers travel to Montreal backed by a solid 9-0-2 run and five straight victories. I think we're getting an excellent price on the visitors in this contest. The Habs have won just once in their last eight overall (1-4-3) and their starting goaltender Carey Price is out indefinitely with a concussion after taking a shot off his mask last Tuesday. Flyers are 6-0 in their last six road games while Canadiens are 3-10 in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. We can also note that Philly has lost six straight at Bell Centre, so the visitors should be fired up to make the most of their hot run and end that streak right here, right now. My NHL Game of the Week is a 10* play on Philadelphia Flyers. |
02-25-18 | Canucks v. Coyotes -105 | 3-1 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 8 m | Show
LATE NIGHT NHL NO-BRAINER The Arizona Coyotes have the worst record in the NHL at 18-33-10, but they've won five of their last six to climb within one point of Eastern Conference-worst Buffalo. I think they'll keep it rolling here when hosting the Vancouver Canucks Sunday night. The Nucks enter Sunday seven points ahead of Arizona in the Pacific Division, but they've posted only two victories this month (2-7-1) following a 6-3 loss at Vegas on Friday. Canucks are 0-8 in their last eight after allowing five goals or more in their previous game and the home team is 5-1 in the last six meetings in this series. The Yotes will play on no rest after a 2-0 triumph over Anaheim here at Gila River Arena on Saturday, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue as they don't have to travel anywhere. My selection is an 8* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
02-25-18 | Blues v. Predators -145 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 57 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) Very clear cut reasoning behind this play; the Preds are HOT, the Blues are NOT. The visitors are coming off five straight defeats and took a 4-0 beating by Winnipeg at home Friday. Blues have lost the first three meetings with the Preds this season and they've lost seven straight visits to Bridgestone Arena. Nashville is entering this game on a three-game winning streak, outscoring its opponents by a combined 15-5 in the process. My NHL Game of the Week is a 10* play on Nashville Predators. |
02-24-18 | Oilers v. Kings -150 | 4-3 | Loss | -150 | 25 h 34 m | Show
LATE NIGHT NHL NO-BRAINER The LA Kings had won three straight prior to a 2-0 setback against Dallas in their first game back from a seven-game road trip Thursday night. I like the Kings to bounce back with a win here against a slumping Edmonton side. We can note that the Kings are 5-0 in their last five after scoring two goals or fewer in their previous game. The Oilers have lost seven of their last nine despite coming off a 3-2 OT win against Colorado. That was at home though, and they've dropped five of their last six on the road and 14 of the last 16 visits to Staples Center. My selection is an 8* play on Los Angeles Kings ML. |
02-24-18 | Flyers -130 v. Senators | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 49 m | Show |
10* AFTERNOON ASSASSIN (PUCKS EDITION) The white hot Philadelphia Flyers have won four straight and picked up at least a point in 10 straight games (8-0-2). Here they'll visit an Ottawa side that has lost three straight, the two most recent on Feb 21 (@Chicago, 3-2 SO) and Feb 22 (Tampa Bay, 4-3). Tough spot for the Sens here playing their third game in four nights, and they're just 2-10 in their last 12 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. Ottawa picked up a 4-3 SO win at Philadelphia on Feb 3. This looks like a favorable situation for Philly to exact revenge. My selection is a 10* play on Philadelphia Flyers. |
02-23-18 | Penguins -115 v. Hurricanes | Top | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 6 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The Pittsburgh Penguins look like great value when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night. The Canes are coming off three straight losses and they're just 3-11 in their last 14 vs. a team with a winning record. The Pens will be entering PNC Arena on a five-game winning streak and well rested since a 5-2 win at Columbus on Feb 18 (Pittsburgh 5-1 when playing with three or more days rest this season). Penguins are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings with Carolina. My selection is a 10* play on Pittsburgh Penguins. |
02-22-18 | Islanders +1.5 v. Maple Leafs | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 23 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The Toronto Maple Leafs have won 11 of their past 13 games overall and seven straight at home, but I think they're way overrated by the oddsmakers when they host the New York Islanders Thursday night. The Isles had shut out both the Rangers and the Hurricanes before taking a 5-3 home loss against Minnesota their last time out. Toronto was outshout 40-31 in its 1-0 win against Florida its last time out and we can note that Islanders netminder Jaroslav Halak owns an 8-3-3 career mark versus the Leafs. My selection is an 8* play on NY Islanders +1.5. |
02-20-18 | Blue Jackets v. Devils -103 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -103 | 16 h 56 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY The slumping Columbus Blue Jackets enter this game on a three-game slide and took their eighth defeat in the last 10 games in a 5-2 home loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday night. Captain Nick Foligno will be sidelined for one to two weeks after suffering a lower-body injury against the Pens, and here Columbus will come up against a red-hot Devils team which is coming off four straight victories to get back into playoff contention again. The Devils will seek revenge for a 6-1 loss at Columbus on Feb. 10. My selection is a 10* play on New Jersey Devils. |
02-19-18 | Senators +1.5 v. Predators | 2-5 | Loss | -145 | 12 h 27 m | Show
NHL PUCKLINE PUNISHER The Nashville Predators are coming off back-to-back home losses and they've dropped four of their last six overall. Tonight they'll host an Ottawa team which is coming to Bridgestone Arena on a two game winning streak following a dominant 6-3 win over Buffalo and NY Rangers. The Sens are 26-15 against the puckline as an underdog this season while the Preds are just 12-25 against the puckline as a favorite. My selection is an 8* play on Ottawa Senators. |
02-19-18 | Wild v. Islanders +110 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 58 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY The New York Islanders are coming off back-to-back 3-0 triumphs, and they've had two days rest since beating Carolina their last time out. The winning streak is the first for the Islanders since a three-game run from Jan. 7 to Jan. 15, and I think they'll keep it rolling here when hosting the Minnesota Wild Monday afternoon. The inconsistent Wild enter this contest on a two-game slide, preceded by a two-game winning streak, which in turn was preceded by a four-game span in which it alternated wins with losses. Wild are 6-17 in their last 23 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and the home team is 4-1 in the last five matchups in this series. My selection is a 10* play on NY Islanders. |
02-18-18 | Stars v. Sharks UNDER 5.5 | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 10 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL The Dallas Stars have won six of their last seven games and held all but two opponents to two goals or fewer during that stretch. They're coming off a 2-1 triumph over St. Louis and under is 3-0-1 in Stars last 4 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game and 6-2 in their last eight vs. a team with a winning record. Here they'll face a San Jose Sharks side that has allowed a total of five goals through its last three games, with none of those games going over five goals. Under is 7-2 in Sharks last nine overall. My selection is a 10* play on DAL @ SJ to go UNDER the total. |
02-18-18 | Maple Leafs -125 v. Red Wings | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The Toronto Maple Leafs had won five straight prior to a 5-3 setback at Pittsburgh yesterday. I think we're getting good value on the Leafs to bounce back here at Detroit the following night. The Leafs had two days off prior to Saturday's contest while Detroit will play its third game in four days here following a 3-1 win at Nashville yesterday. Red Wings are 0-5 in their last five in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and 1-5 in their last six home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Toronto had won four straight meetings in the series before a 3-1 loss here in Motor City back in December. The Leafs will get back to their winning ways in the series and exact revenge tonight. My selection is an 8* play on Toronto Maple Leafs. |
02-18-18 | Penguins +109 v. Blue Jackets | 5-2 | Win | 109 | 8 h 48 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Pittsburgh Penguins have won four straight following a 5-3 triumph against Toronto on Saturday. They've won seven of the last eight meetings with Columbus, and I think they'll get the job done here despite playing on no rest. The Blue Jackets are coming off back-to-back losses and they've dropped seven of their last nine. Penguins are 5-1 in their last six games playing on no rest. My selection is an 8* play on Pittsburgh Penguins. |
02-17-18 | Devils v. Lightning -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 46 m | Show
PUCKLINE PUNISHER The New Jersey Devils are coming off back-to-back triumphs over Philadelphia and Carolina, but I think they're in for a world of hurt when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Saturday. The Lightning ended a two-game slide with a 4-1 victory over Detroit on Thursday. They've covered the puckline in 11 of their last 14 wins they're 9-for-29 on the power play over the last eight games. The Lightning have won four straight encounters at home and covered the puckline in two of those. The plus-money is giving us great value on the puckline here. My selection is an 8* play on Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5. |
02-17-18 | Oilers v. Coyotes +100 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 15 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The Edmonton Oilers will visit the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena on Saturday, and I think there's plenty of reasons to expect the Yotes to prevail in a high-scoring contest. Arizona has won four of its last five, scoring 20 goals in the process and the over is 6-1 in Coyotes last seven overall. Even better, they're coming off a 5-2 win over Montreal and over is 11-1-1 in Coyotes last 13 after scoring five goals or more in their previous game. Here the Coyotes will face an Edmonton defense that has conceded an average of 3.34 goals per game on the season, and over is 6-2 in Oilers last eight overall. My selection is an 8* play on Arizona Coyotes. |
02-17-18 | Kings v. Sabres +130 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 46 m | Show
SUPER EARLY NHL AFTERNOON ASSASSIN On Tuesday, the LA Kings acquired defenseman Dion Phaneuf and center Nate Thompson from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forwards Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore. That didn't stop them from taking a 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday, their third consecutive setback. Tough spot for the Kings here, playing an afternoon game far away from home and playing their fifth straight on the road. Also note that they've lost eight straight meetings with the Sabres here at Buffalo. The Sabres have won three of their last five and I think the value is on the home team. My selection is an 8* play on Buffalo Sabres. |
02-16-18 | Blues v. Stars -135 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 20 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The Dallas Stars had won six on the bounce before taking a 6-0 beating by Vancouver here at American Airlines Center in their most lopsided loss of the season. They've had four days to mull it over, and I expect the Stars to play with real purpose tonight. Note that the Stars are 17-5 in their last 22 games following a home loss of three or more goals and 10-2 in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the Blues are just 2-5 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. My selection is a 10* play on Dallas Stars. |
02-15-18 | Ducks -113 v. Blackhawks | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 46 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Chicago Blackhawks will try to snap a seven-game losing streak when they host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night, but I predict more misery for the Hawks. Anaheim is coming off back-to-back one goal losses but should really have defeated Detroit its last time out after outshooting the Wings 33-16. "We weren't sharp with the puck and we needed to go upstairs more," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle told the team's official website. "We put pucks into his feet. The puck was bouncing away from us. You can't play that way. Two turnovers in the game gave them goals. Those are very easily correctable." The Blackhawks on the other hand were just terrible in a 5-2 loss at Vegas their last time out and they've been outscored 14-3 in the last three games alone. My selection is an 8* play on Anaheim Ducks. |
02-15-18 | Capitals v. Wild -125 | 5-2 | Loss | -125 | 17 h 14 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Washington Capitals are coming off back-to-back OT losses, giving up a total of nine goals in the process and they've allowed a total of 20 goals in their last four losses. "It breaks down to everything really, but in terms of the D zone we're a little too backed off," Washington defenseman John Carlson said. "We're in follow mode instead of attack mode. It's tough. We're giving teams a lot of time in the zone and if you do that you try to at least keep teams to the outside and not give them the middle of the ice. We haven't been doing that and that's part of the problem." The Caps have won six straight meetings in this series, but I like Minnesota to end that streak here Thursday night. The Wild are extremely hard to beat home at Xcel Energy Center and 10-0-3 in their past 13 home games. They're 7-2 in their last nine when hosting a team with a losing road record and the Caps are 12-9-4 away from home. My selection is an 8* play on Minnesota Wild. |

02-15-18 | Rangers v. Islanders -130 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 19 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The New York Islanders have won five straight meetings in this series, and I think they look good to make it six in a row here when they host the New York Rangers Thursday night. The Rangers fell for the seventh time in 10 games when they took a 3-2 loss at Minnesota Tuesday night. They've averaged just 2.23 gpg over their last 22 games and here they'll likely to come up against Jaroslav Halak who is 16-7 with a 2.55 GAA in previous meetings. The Islanders are coming off back-to-back home losses but they're still 15-10-3 at home on the season. My selection is an 8* play on NY Islanders. |
02-13-18 | Ducks -120 v. Red Wings | 1-2 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 38 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The Detroit Red Wings will seek to build on a 5-4 overtime victory at Washington on Sunday, a result that put an end to their three-game losing streak. They've conceded 17 goals in their last four games and are just 2-6 in their last eight after scoring five goals or more in their previous game. I think Detroit will come up short here against a Ducks team aiming to bounce back from a 3-2 shootout loss at home to San Jose. The Ducks are 10-4 in their last 14 vs. a team with a losing record and their netminder John Gibson is a solid 9-2-2 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .927 SP in his last 13 contests. Detroit is just 1-5-1 in its last seven home contests and the Ducks are 6-2 in the last eight meetings. My selection is an 8* play on Anaheim Ducks. |
02-12-18 | Blackhawks -120 v. Coyotes | Top | 1-6 | Loss | -120 | 14 h 45 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (NHL) The Chicago Blackhawks have fallen into last place in the Central Division by losing their last five games and nine of their last 11. The good news is that tonight they'll face an Arizona team they've owned in recent seasons, including a pair of comfortable wins this season. Overall, the Blackhawks are 14-3 in the last 17 meetings and they've claimed 10 of the last 11 in the desert. The Coyotes are dead last in the NHL with only six home-ice victories and I think this is a great price on the desperate Blackhawks who need to start winning if they're to make the playoffs. My NHL Game of the Month is a 10* play on Chicago Blackhawks ML. |
02-10-18 | Predators -138 v. Canadiens | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 21 h 35 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY The Nashville Predators are coming off back-to-back post-regulation losses Wednesday/Thursday. They're however 7-1 in their last eight games playing on one days rest and 4-1 in their last five in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation, and I think they'll make light work of the Habs here at Bell Centre on Saturday. Montreal took a 5-3 loss at Philadelphia Thursday night and is just 2-7 in its last nine vs. a team with a winning % above .600. I expect to see Pekka Rinne between the pipes for the Predators, and he owns a 7-2-2 mark with two shutouts, a 1.42 GAA and .949 SV% in 11 career encounters with the Habs. I also think former Canadien, All-Star defenseman P.K. Subban, will have the Preds extra fired up here as he returns to the Bell Centre for the second time since being traded to Music City. My selection is a 10* play on Nashville Predators ML. |
02-09-18 | Penguins v. Stars -109 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL NO-BRAINER The Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a 5-4 victory over Vegas, but that was at home and they've dropped three of their last four on the road. Here they'll visit a Dallas Stars team that has won four in a row overall (outscoring their opponents by a total of 16-5 during that stretch) and also four straight meetings with the Pens home at American Airlines Center. My selection is a 10* play on Dallas Stars. |
02-08-18 | Canadiens v. Flyers -145 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show
NHL NO-BRAINER The Philadelphia Flyers snapped a four-game skid with Tuesday's 2-1 overtime victory at Carolina. I like them to ride the momentum to another victory when they host the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night. The Habs may have answered a dismal 2-5-2 stretch by posting dominant victories over Anaheim and Ottawa, but both those games were at home and they're just 1-7 in their last eight on the road. Home team is 23-5 in the last 28 meetings and Philly 5-2 in its last seven home games. My selection is an 8* play on Philadelphia Flyers. |
02-06-18 | Golden Knights +115 v. Penguins | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 60 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The two-time defending Stanley Cup champions Pittsburgh Penguins saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-1 setback at New Jersey on Saturday. I think they'll find it though to bounce back here when they host the Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday night, and I'm so confident the value is on the visitors in this matchup that I'm making this my NHL Game of the Week selection. Vegas has won three of four on this six-game road trip and its netminder, former Penguin Marc Andre Fleury, has won each of his last five road outings. This will be his first game at Pittsburgh since leaving the team, and I expect him to bring his a-game. The Golden Knights are 10-2 in their last 12 vs. teams from the Eastern Conference while the Penguins are 4-9 in their last 13 against teams from the West. My NHL Game of the Week is a 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
02-04-18 | Sharks +117 v. Hurricanes | Top | 3-1 | Win | 117 | 4 h 37 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The San Jose Sharks snapped a four-game skid with a 3-1 triumph at Columbus Friday night. I like their chances of riding that momentum to another victory when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes Sunday afternoon. The Canes are in pretty much the opposite situation as they saw a three-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Detroit on Friday. This will be their third game in four nights, and we can note that the Hurricanes are 0-5 in their last five in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and just 1-7 in their last eight vs. a team with a winning record. My selection is a 10* play on San Jose Sharks. |
02-02-18 | Sharks v. Blue Jackets -123 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -123 | 11 h 57 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The Columbus Blue Jackets will be well rested for this clash with the San Jose Sharks, coming off two days of rest since a 3-2 SO loss to Minnesota. They're 20-7 in their last 27 Friday night games and 23-8 in their last 31 games playing on two days rest. The San Jose Sharks meanwhile are coming off four straight defeats and this will be their third game in four nights. They're just 2-6 in their last 8 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and 0-8 in their last eight road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Columbus boasts a solid 16-8-0 home record and should prove worth the price we're asked to lay here. My selection is a 10* play on Columbus Blue Jackets. |
02-01-18 | Lightning -109 v. Flames | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 60 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Calgary Flames will be looking to bounce back from a demoralizing loss to Vegas as they gave up three goals within the final two minutes of the game to lose 4-2 in their first game back from the All Star break. They've now dropped five in a row and this looks like another tough spot when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning Thursday night. Tampa Bay took a 5-1 home loss against the Flames in January but is a solid 7-1 when seeking revenge for a home loss this season and 17-8-0 on the road. My selection is an 8* play on Tampa Bay Lightning. |
02-01-18 | Golden Knights v. Jets -120 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 56 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL PLAY OF THE DAY The Vegas Golden Knights scored three goals in 53 seconds within the final two minutes to defeat Calgary 4-2 on Tuesday, but I think they'll come up short here at Winnipeg Thursday night. The Jets are a stunning 18-3-1 home at Bell MTS Centre on the season and took down the Lightning in a 3-1 victory in their first game back from the All Star break. The home team have won the previous two meetings and I see no reason to not expect that trend to continue. My selection is a 10* play on Winnipeg Jets. |
02-01-18 | Canadiens v. Hurricanes -145 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 0 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Carolina Hurricanes have won eight straight when taking on a team with a losing record, and I think we're getting a reasonable price on the Canes here when they host the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night. The Habs have won just two of their last eight games overall and one of their last seven on the road. Carolina won the last meeting 6-5 at Montreal just before the All Star break to make it a perfect 3-0 run in the series and we can note that Montreal is just 4-11 when trying to avenge a home loss this season. My selection is an 8* play on Carolina Hurricanes. |
01-30-18 | Avalanche -105 v. Canucks | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 53 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* LATE NIGHT NHL POWER PLAY (50% OFF) The Colorado Avalanche had won 10 straight before dropping their last two games leading up to the All Star break. They'll be eager to go on another run to remain in the playoff picture when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. The Nucks lost for the third time in four games as they were shut out by the Sabres at home Thursday night. The Canucks are 3-15 in their last 18 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and the road team is 6-2 in the last eight head-to-head meetings with the Avs. My selection is a 10* play on Colorado Avalanche. |
01-25-18 | Blue Jackets -120 v. Coyotes | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 51 m | Show
NHL 5-PACK The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost three of their last four, but I think they'll head into the All Star break off a win after taking on the Coyotes at Arizona Thursday night. The Coyotes had dropped five straight prior to back-to-back triumphs over the Blues and the Islanders, their first winning streak since November. I would not count on the Yotes to make it three in a row ... Columbus took a 6-3 beating at Western Conference-leading Vegas its last time out and is 8-0 in its last eight games following a loss of three or more goals. We can also note that the Blue Jackets are 5-0 in the last five encounters with Arizona. Under is 7-2 in Blue Jackets last nine overall and 25-10 in Coyotes last 35 overall. My selection is an 8* play on Columbus Blue Jackets. |
01-25-18 | Blue Jackets v. Coyotes UNDER 5.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 49 m | Show
NHL 5-PACK The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost three of their last four, but I think they'll head into the All Star break off a win after taking on the Coyotes at Arizona Thursday night. My selection is an 8* play on Under. |
01-25-18 | Hurricanes v. Canadiens -125 | 6-5 | Loss | -125 | 10 h 21 m | Show
NHL 5-PACK The Carolina Hurricanes are coming off a 3-1 loss at Pittsburgh and they've lost 10 of 13 after a division game this season. They have lost four of their last five overall and scored only a total of nine goals during that stretch. Here they'll a Montreal side that snapped Colorado's 10-game winning streak with an impressive 4-1 victory on Tuesday. The Habs are 7-1 in the last eight encounters at Bell Centre and netminder Carey Price is 14-7-2 with three shutouts against the Hurricanes. Under is 6-2 in Hurricanes last eight road games. Under is 10-4 in Canadiens last 14 overall. Under is 6-1-5 in the last 12 meetings overall and 19-6-2 in the last 27 meetings in Montreal. My selection is an 8* play on Montreal Canadiens. |
01-25-18 | Hurricanes v. Canadiens UNDER 5.5 | 6-5 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 20 m | Show
NHL 5-PACK The Carolina Hurricanes are coming off a 3-1 loss at Pittsburgh and they've lost 10 of 13 after a division game this season. My selection is an 8* play on Under. |
01-25-18 | Wild v. Penguins -139 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show
NHL 5-PACK The Pittsburgh Penguins have heated up here just before the All Star break, entering this matchup as winners of six of their last eight games. The Pens are still out of a playoff spot in the East, and that can't sit right with the reigning Stanley Cup champions. "We want to make sure we finish strong before a few days off," said superstar captain Sidney Crosby, and I for one believe him. Pittsburgh will host a Minnesota side that has won four of its last five overall but lost four of its last five on the road. The Wild have a losing road record for the season giving up 3.52 gpg while the Pens are a solid 16-7-1 at home. My selection is an 8* play on Pittsburgh Penguins. |
01-24-18 | Maple Leafs +110 v. Blackhawks | Top | 3-2 | Win | 110 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY Two slumping teams will clash at United Center Wednesday night. The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost five of their last six games while the Chicago Blackhawks have lost three straight and four of their last five (all at home). The Blackhawks have been blanked twice and scored only six goals during that stretch, and I think the value is on the visiting Maple Leafs in this contest. Toronto still boasts a winning record despite the recent slide, and the Blackhawks are only 6-15 (-11.6 units) when playing against a team with a winning record this season. My selection is a 10* play on Toronto Maple Leafs. |
01-22-18 | Islanders -120 v. Coyotes | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -120 | 13 h 14 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) The New York Islanders are coming off a 7-3 triumph at Chicago on Saturday, their third straight win away from home. "We're an offensive team with a lot of depth in our lineup," center Anthony Beauvillier said after the win. "We can score goals and make plays. It was a good way to start the (three-game) road trip." Here they'll visit the worst home team in the NHL, and I like the Isles to keep on the road. The Coyotes are a pathetic 5-14-3 home in Gila River Arena. They had lost five straight overall prior to a 5-2 win at St. Louis their last time out but are just 6-20 in their last 26 games following a win. New York is just 11-13-1 on the road this season but Arizona is 3-14 in its last 17 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. My selection is a 10* play on New York Islanders. |
01-21-18 | Sharks v. Ducks -148 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -148 | 20 h 38 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim are coming off back-to-back home triumphs over Pittsburgh and LA, and they've won four straight home at Honda Center. I think they'll keep that streak intact with another triumph over San Jose Sharks on Sunday. The Sharks will play on no rest following a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday and are 1-4 in their last five games playing on no rest and 5-16 in their last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. My selection is a 10* play on Anaheim Ducks. |
01-21-18 | Golden Knights -115 v. Hurricanes | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 17 h 40 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Vegas Golden Knights will close out a four-game road trip when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. They've gone 1-1-1 through the first three games following a 4-3 OT loss at Florida, but I think they'll bounce back with a solid performance today. Carolina has lost four of its last six overall and will play on no rest following a 3-1 triumph at Detroit on Saturday. The Hurricanes are 4-12 in their last 16 vs. Western Conference teams while the Golden Knights are 7-1 in their last eight vs. teams from the East. My selection is an 8* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
01-21-18 | Flyers v. Capitals -158 | 2-1 | Loss | -158 | 11 h 11 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Washington Capitals have lost back-to-back games since their bye week, but I think they'll turn it around here when they host the Philadelphia Flyers Sunday afternoon. "Today, I just didn’t think we had enough guys putting in the real full day’s work," Washington coach Barry Trotz told reporters after a 3-2 home loss to Montreal on Friday, "Like I said, too much cheat and not enough compete in a lot of areas." I expect the Caps to address those issues ahead of this contest. The Flyers will play on no rest following a 3-1 triumph over New Jersey yesterday and they've lost five of the last six encounters at Capital One Arena. My selection is an 8* play on Washington Capitals. |
01-20-18 | Lightning -108 v. Wild | 2-5 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 23 m | Show
NHL MONEYMAKER The Minnesota Wild are coming off their bye week, and I think they'll struggle with the pace here against a Tampa Bay Lightning side looking to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to Vegas. The Lightning are 21-5 in their last 26 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and the Wild are just 2-9 in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. My selection is an 8* play on Tampa Bay Lightning. |
01-20-18 | Jets v. Flames -119 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -119 | 14 h 23 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY Both teams are coming off a bye week, but the Calgary Flames entered the break as arguably the hottest team in the NHL coming off seven consecutive triumphs. They've won five straight meetings with the Jets home at the Saddledome and Winnipeg is coming off back-to-back road losses at Chicago and Minnesota. The Jets are just 1-10 in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and I don't see them threatening the red hot Flames here. My selection is a 10* play on Calgary Flames. |
01-19-18 | Golden Knights -102 v. Panthers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off an impressive 4-1 victory at NHL-best Tampa Bay on Thursday. They're 4-1 in their last five games playing on no rest and I think they'll keep rolling when they visit the Florida Panthers here Friday night. Florida is just 1-3-1 through its last five games and it hasn't played a game since last Friday's 4-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. Teams seem to struggle coming off a bye week, and I expect that to be the case for the Panthers as well. My selection is a 10* play on Vegas Golden Knights. |
01-18-18 | Sharks v. Avalanche +100 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 18 h 25 m | Show |
TOP RATED 10* NHL POWER PLAY (LATE START) The Colorado Avalanche are coming off seven straight wins. They're a solid 16-7-1 at home for the season, and have had two days rest since defeating the Ducks 3-1 here at Pepsi Center. Tonight they'll host a San Jose Sharks team that will play its third game in four nights after winning 3-1 at LA on Tuesday and 3-2 in a shootout at Arizona the following night. The Sharks are 1-4 in their last five in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and 0-6 in their last six road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. My selection is a 10* play on Colorado Avalanche. |
01-18-18 | Maple Leafs v. Flyers -110 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show
NHL 3-PACK The Philadelphia Flyers look like a solid play here when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday night. Toronto is coming off three straight defeats (scoring only six goals in the process), the most recent a 2-1 OT setback against the Blues Tuesday night. The Leafs are just 2-7 in their last nine games playing on one days rest and 2-6 in their last eight road games. The Flyers had won four straight prior to taking a 5-1 loss at NY Rangers Tuesday night. They're 7-2 in their last nine games playing on one days rest and should be eager to get back to their winning ways. My selection is an 8* play on Philadelphia Flyers. |
