04-17-24 | Royals -1.5 v. White Sox | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
GAME 2: The Royals and White Sox got postponed on Tuesday so lets try this again today in a twin bill. The Kansas City Royals continue to impress everyone, especially with their pitching. They shut out the White Sox two nights ago in game one of this three game set, 2-0. The Royals have now won nine of their last 11 games. Moreover, during that streak they have allowed more than three runs just two times in those 11 games. The Royals are 11-6 and just one game back of Cleveland in the LA Central. Pulling up the bottom rung in the AL Central are the White Sox. The Sox are 2-14 and have the worst Run differential in baseball at -53 runs. The White Sox will send Erick Fedde to the hill today. Fedde is 0-0 in his three starts with a 4.29 ERA and 1.431 WHIP. He's coming off a no decision at Cleveland where he allowed four hits and four earned runs over five innings. Michael Wacha will start game two for the Royal and is 1-1 in his three starts with a 4.00 ERA. I'm sticking with the run line here today on the Royals in game two of their doubleheader. |
04-09-24 | Marlins v. Yankees -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 40 m | Show
The Miami Marlins continue to flounder as they are off to a 1-10 start after losing to the Yankees on Monday, 0-7. The Marlins also have a AL worst -32 run differential. They did finally win a game on Sunday at St Louis with a 10-3 win, but have gone right back to losing. A.J. Puk will make his third start after a 0-2 start. Puk has a lofty 9.00 ERA and 2.833 WHIP. He's allowed eight hits and eight runs after only 6 innings of work. Bad news today as they face the 9-2 Yankees who have won three straight after Monday's shut-out win. The Yankee also have a +17 run differential. Soto and Volpe both hit 3-run home runs to boost the Yankees to the lead in the AL East. Carlos Rondon makes his third start of the season. Rondon is 0-0 but has a nifty 2.80 ERA. He's allowed 12 hits and three runs over just 9 2/3 innings. Have to lay the Run line here today as the Yankees blowout the Marlins again. Play NY Yankees -1.5 runs. |
04-09-24 | White Sox v. Guardians -1.5 | 7-5 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 45 m | Show
The White Sox and Guardians play a three-game set as the Guardians took game one on Monday, 4-0. White Sox manager Stephen Vogt made his home debut and it was a good on with the win for the Guardians. Cleveland was 7-2 after nine games on the road and improved to 8-2 with their win last night. The Guardians are in 1st place in the AL Central and have a +36 run differential. Logan T Allen will make his third start tonight after a 2-0 start. Allen has a 2.31 ERA and 1.114 WHIP. He's allowed just 10 hits and three runs over his 11 2/3 inning of work. The White Sox are off to a horrible start at 1-9. They have lost five straight games and have a -30 run differential. Mike Soroka will make his third start after a 0-1 record. He has a 4.91 ERA and 1.455 WHIP. Soroka has allowed 13 hits and six runs over his 11 innings of work. Have to side with the Guardians today and Allen who both have been great. I'll lay the Run Line with Cleveland. |
04-08-24 | Diamondbacks -1.5 v. Rockies | 5-7 | Loss | -118 | 10 h 49 m | Show
NL West clash here tonight has Arizona taking on Colorado. The Diamondbacks are 4-6 to start the season and have a +16 run differential. They are coming off a loss on Sunday to the Braves, 2-5. They lost two of three games in their set to the Braves. They opened the season with four games against Colorado and took three of the four games while outscoring the Rockies 32-14. Zac Gallen makes his third start of the season. Gallen is 2-0 and has been in excellent form. Gallen has allowed just six total hits and one run over his 11 innings. And, he's received a lot of run support with the D'backs scoring 23 runs in the two games. That includes a 16-1 win over these Rockies where he held them to just three hits and run one over five innings. The Rockies once again look to be the bottom team in a tough NL West. The Rockies are 2-8 to start the season and have a MLB worst -34 run differential. The Rockies are coming off a loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday, 2-3. They have now lost six of their last seven games. Kyle Freeland will make his third start after a 0-2 beginning. Freeland has allowed 19 hits and 17 runs over his 6 1/3 innings of work. Freeland and the Rockies have both been horrible thus far. Don't see any change tonight against a very good Gallen. I'll lay the Run line with the D'backs here tonight. |
04-05-24 | White Sox v. Royals -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 60 m | Show
AL Central foes matchup here on Friday as the Chicago White Sox take on the Kansas City Royals. Both teams off to slow starts with the White Sox at 1-5 and the Royals at 3-4. The White Sox finding runs difficult to come by as they have scored 1 or no runs in three of their six games thus far. They are coming off a loss to these Royals yesterday, 1-10. Erick Fedde will get his second start of the season for the Sox. Fedde went 4 2/3 innings vs the Tigers in his first game, allowing five hits and two runs for a no decision. The Royals started the season 0-2 but have since won three of five games. They are coming off that win over the Sox, 10-1 and have won two of their last three games. Brady Singer gets his second start after a nice seven inning, three hit and no run performance vs the Twins in his first start. I like the Royals here today, but with the high price I'll lay the Run Line with them. |
04-05-24 | A's v. Tigers -1.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -105 | 2 h 25 m | Show
The Detroit Tigers started the season 5-0 and finally lost a game to the Mets on Thursday, 1-2. They have held five of their first six opponents to 3 runs or fewer. Tarik Skubal gets his second start of the season here today vs the Oakland A's. Skubal had an excellent first start going six innings and allowing just three hits and no runs for the win vs the White Sox. The Oakland A's have fans protesting outside the stadium and wanting the team sold. The A's have decided this is their last year in Oakland before they move to Sacramento for three years and then their new home in Las Vegas. Still, the A's look like a team with little interest in these games. The A's are just 1-6 to start the season and just got swept by the Boston Red Sox. They scored four total runs vs the Red Sox and allowed 15 runs. JP Sears will make his second start of the season. He went just 3 2/3 innings vs the Guardians in his first start. He allowed six hits and five runs to take the loss. The Tigers playing with a lot of confidence and Skubal looking very strong. I'll lay the Run Line here today with the Tigers in what should be a blowout win. |
04-01-24 | Royals v. Orioles -1.5 | 4-6 | Win | 140 | 7 h 16 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles host Kansas City as both teams begin their second set of the season. The Orioles went 2-1 in their opening series, scoring 25 runs in the process while allowing 11 runs to the Angels. Dean Kremer gets the start for the O's today. Kremer had an excellent season last year going 14-5 with a 4.12 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. The Kansas City Royals salvaged the final game of their three game set with the Minnesota Twins, winning 11-0. The 11 run outburst coming after the Royals scored just two total runs in the first two games vs the Twins. Michael Wacha will start here today for the Royals. Wacha was 14-4 last year with a 3.22 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Problem is, despite that 11 run outburst, the Royals still have an anemic offense and will have little support for Wacha. I'll take the Orioles here today at home on the Run Line. |
09-22-23 | White Sox v. Red Sox -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 45 m | Show
The Red Sox not officially eliminated from the playoffs but with 8.5 games back in the Wildcard race they are pretty much done. Chris Sale will try and build off an excellent start last time out. Sale went six innings and allowed just two hits and one run at Toronto. He's 6-4 on the season with a 4.66 ERA. Touki Toussaint will toe the rubber for the White Sox. He's 4-7 on the season with a 6.05 ERA. Those numbers are a bit worse of late at 7.12 over his last seven starts. I'll lay the Run Line here on Friday with the Red Sox. |
09-20-23 | Tigers v. Dodgers -1.5 | 4-2 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 32 m | Show
The Tigers playing out the season while the Dodgers prepare for their first round of the playoffs. The Tigers are not officially eliminated from the playoffs but in reality it's over for them. The Tigers have lost two straight games including the last two night's in LA, 3-8 and last night 2-3. That snapped a four game win streak for Detroit. Reese Olson starts tonight for Detroit with a 4-7 record and 4.73 ERA. He has pitched well of late, allowing three runs over his last three starts. The Dodgers will start Bobby Miller tonight who is 10-3 in his 19 starts with a 4.02 ERA. He's been better of late with a 5-2 record and 3.68 ERA in his last seven starts. I'm going to lay the run line with the Dodgers here on Wednesday. |
09-20-23 | Rockies v. Padres -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -125 | 4 h 32 m | Show
It's been a disappointing season for the San Diego Padres. They were expected to compete with the Dodgers for the NL West, but instead are 20-games back. They officially haven't been eliminated from the playoffs though because they are 5.5 games back in the Wildcard race. However, with six teams ahead of them that looks like a longshot too. Seth Lugo starts for the Padres today with a 7-7 record in his 24 starts and a 3.83 ERA. He's been even better of late with a 3-1 record and 2.97 ERA over his last seven starts. The Rockies will send Chase Anderson to the hill with a 0-5 record in his last 15 starts and a 6.43 ERA. He's been worse on the road with a 0-3 record and 8.78 ERA. I'll lay the run line today with the Padres. |
09-19-23 | Rockies v. Padres -1.5 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show
Final days of the regular season and the Padres might be the biggest disappointment of the season. A huge payroll and super stars on the team and they are 20-Games back of the Dodgers. The one player who hasn't been a letdown is today's starter, Blake Snell. Snell is 14-9 on the season with a 2.43 ERA. He's been even better of late, going 6-1 in his last seven starts with a 1.88 ERA. He's also allowed two total runs over his last four starts (25 innings). The Rockies are in last in the NL West, 36.5-games back of the Dodgers. They will start Ryan Feltner today who is 2-3 in his eight starts with a 5.86 ERA. He's also allowed eight runs over his last five innings. I'll take the Padres today and lay the Run Line. |
09-19-23 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
The LA Angels just waiting for the season to end. They made a lot of trade deadline pickups in order to try and make the playoffs. They all bombed as they floundered in the second half of the season. The Rays have clinched a playoff spot, but they still can take the division. They trail the Orioles by just 2.5 games and have won seven of their last 10 games. The Angels will start Patrick Sandoval on Tuesday with a 7-13 record and 4.86 ERA. That goes up in his last seven starts with a 1-5 record and 6.15 ERA. The Rays will start Taj Bradley today. Bradley is 5-7 in 19 starts with a 5.46 ERA. While Bradley isn't one of the better starters on this team. He has a very good bullpen behind him which has a 3.68 ERA. They have been better of late with a 1.11 ERA over their last seven games. I'll lay the Run Line here today with the Rays. |
08-30-23 | Reds v. Giants -1.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 37 m | Show
The Cincinnati Reds look to snap a 3-game losing streak here tonight at San Francisco. The Reds have dropped to seven games back in the NL Central behind the Brewers. The Reds have a better shot at the NL Wildcard as they are just 2-games back in that race. The Giants are 1-game back in the Wildcard race and 13.5-games back of the Dodgers in the NL West. Hunter Greene starts for the Reds with a 2-6 record in his 16 starts and a 5.06 ERA. He's allowed 13 runs over his last two starts (6 2/3 innings). The Giants will start Logan Webb who is 9-10 in his 27 starts with a 3.67 ERA. He's been a bit better at home with a 5-5 record and 2.78 ERA. I'm taking the Giants here on Wednesday and laying the Run Line. Play Giants -1.5 Runs. |
08-30-23 | Angels v. Phillies -1.5 | 10-8 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 57 m | Show
Reason: The AL West is a 3-team race as the Rangers, Mariners and Astros are all tied right now for the lead. That leaves the Angels the odd man out as they sit 12.5-games back of those three teams. They are also 12.5-games back in the AL Wildcard race. The Phillies are in 2nd place in the NL East but have no shot at first place Atlanta as they are 12.5 games back in the race. However, the NL Wildcard is a different story. The Phillies hold a 5-game advantage as they are the top NL Wildcard team right now. The Cubs are four games back and the Giants five games back. Reid Detmers starts today with a 3-10 record in his 23 starts and a 5.03 ERA. He's been worse of late, going 1-4 in his last seven starts with a 6.82 ERA. Cristopher Sanchez starts for the Phils with a 2-3 record in his 13 starts and a 3.33 ERA. He's allowed two runs in each of his last three starts, going six innings in each. I'm taking the Wildcard leading Phillies here today in this IL Game and laying the run Line. Play Philadelphia -1.5 Runs. |
08-28-23 | Padres -1.5 v. Cardinals | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show
The San Diego Padres arguably the biggest disappointment of the 2023 season. After a bunch of high profile signings and moves the Padres were expected to contend with the Dodgers for the AL West title. However, here they sit, 19 games back in the West. The Wildcard even a longshot at this point, as they sit eight games back with six teams ahead of them. Blake Snell has been a bright spot though for this team, especially since the All Star break. Snell is 10-9 overall in 26 starts with a 2.73 ERA. However, he has allowed more than two runs in a start just one time dating back to May 25th. He has been very good and the teams best starter. The Cardinals also a disappointment this season as they are in last in the NL Central, 16.5-games back of the Brewers. The Cardinals have lost two straight games and eight of their last 10. Adam Wainwright has not been good either, going 3-9 in his 17 starts with a 8.61 ERA. That number is even worse lately with a 0-6 record in his last seven starts and a 10.55 ERA. Huge difference in starters here today. I'll take the Padres with Snell and lay the Run Line. |
08-23-23 | Rockies v. Rays -1.5 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -119 | 7 h 51 m | Show |
Tampa Bay has won two straight games and seven of their last 10 games to close back within two games of first place Baltimore Orioles. The Rockies are in last in the NL West and have the second worst run differential in baseball with a -177 mark. The Rockies have lost two straight games and seven of their last 10. Colorado will start Austin Gomber who is 9-9 in his 25 starts with a 5.52 ERA. The Rays will counter with Aaron Civale who is 6-3 in his 16 starts and a 2.44 ERA. He's been even better of late, going 3-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.27 ERA. I'll lay the Run line here today with the Rays. |
08-19-23 | Pirates v. Twins -1.5 | 7-4 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 22 m | Show
The Minnesota twins opened their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday with a 5-1 win. The Twins now lead the AL Central by five games over the Cleveland Guardians. Minnesota also is the only team in the division with a positive differential of runs at +44. The Pirates have dropped two straight and seven of the last 10 games. They are 11 and 1/2 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. They will start Mitch Keller here today who is 9-8 on the season in his 25 starts with a 4.27 ERA. Keller has been even worse of late going 0-4 in his last seven starts with a 6.35 ERA. Sonny Gray will take the hill for the twins with 6-5 record in 24 starts. Gray has an excellent 2.97 ERA. He's also coming off an excellent start at Philadelphia allowing just two hits and no runs over six innings for the win. I'm taking the twins today on the run line |
08-18-23 | Pirates v. Twins -1.5 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
The Minnesota Twins are benefiting by arguably the worst division in baseball as they lead the AL Central by 4.5-games over the Guardians despite a 63-59 record. The Twins will take on NL Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates are in 4th in the NL Central with a 54-67 record. They lost yesterday and have dropped six of their last 10 games. The Pirates will start Andre Jackson who makes just his second start. In his first he went 3 2/3 innings vs the Reds and gave up five hits and three runs. The Twins will start Pablo Lopez who is 8-6 in his 24 starts with a 3.66 ERA. He's been very good of late, going 4-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.36 ERA. I'm taking the Twins here today and laying the Run Line. |
08-15-23 | Tigers v. Twins -1.5 | 3-5 | Win | 110 | 9 h 53 m | Show
The Minnesota Twins took two of three games from the Phillies, outscoring them 11-1 in the last two games of that set after giving up 13 runs in game one. Today, they begin a series with the Detroit Tigers. The Twins have increased their lead to 4.5 games over the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central. The Tigers are in third in the division, 8-games back. The Tigers have no shot for the AL Wildcard as they are 12-games back with eight teams above them. The Tigers start Alex Faedo who is 2-4 in his eight starts with a 5.80 ERA. The Twins start Bailey Ober who is 6-6 in his 19 starts and a 3.40 ERA. I'll go ahead and lay the Run line here today with the Twins. |
08-10-23 | Braves -1.5 v. Pirates | 5-7 | Loss | -127 | 2 h 7 m | Show
Reason: After suffering through a 3-game losing streak, the Atlanta Braves have won two of three vs the Pirates as they play this final game of the set early here on Thursday. The Braves took Wednesday's game, 6-5 and have scored 20 runs in the three games. However, they have also allowed the Bucs to score 18 runs. Bryce Elder starts for the Braves with a 8-3 record in his 22 starts and a 3.43 ERA. The Pirates will start Bailey Falter who is still looking for his first win of the season against six losses. Falter has a 5.40 ERA on the season. I'm taking the Braves and laying the run line here today. |
08-05-23 | Pirates v. Brewers -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -124 | 17 h 23 m | Show |
The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Pirates in game one of this 3-game series, 4-8. Despite the loss, the Brewers hold onto a slim 1/2-game lead in the NL Central. The Reds are right behind them and the CUbs have moved to within 2.5-games. The Cubs are the only team in the division with a positive run differential (+71). The Pirates are in 4th in the division, 9-games back of the Brewers. The Bucs will start Bailey Falter today who is 0-6 in his seven starts with a 5.75 ERA. Falter has allowed nine runs over his last eight innings of work. The Brewers will start Corbin Burnes who is 9-6 in his 22 starts with a 3.44 ERA. He's been better of late, going 4-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.42 ERA. Burnes has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last six starts. I'm taking the Brewers here on Saturday and laying the Run Line. |
07-31-23 | Angels v. Braves -1.5 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves have cruise control set as they are 11.5 games ahead of 2nd place Miami in the NL East race. The Braves have won three straight games and six of their last 10 games. They also have a run differential of +151, which is best in baseball. The Angels have been a major player in the trade deadline as many thought they would unload, instead they have been buyers. The Angels are just five games back of the Rangers in the AL West. They are also four games back in the AL Wildcard race. So thoughts in LA are that they will make a push to get one of those playoff spots. The Angels start Griffin Canning today who is 6-4 in his 16 starts with a 4.46 ERA. The Braves counter with Charlie Morton who is 10-8 in his 20 starts and a 3.57 ERA. I like the Braves in this one and by a decent margin. I'll lay the Run Line today with Atlanta. |
07-31-23 | Brewers -1.5 v. Nationals | 3-5 | Loss | -123 | 7 h 6 m | Show
The Milwaukee Brewers three game skid has dropped them into 2nd place in the NL Central, a half game back of the Reds. The Brewers are 57-49 and are tied for the 2nd Wild Card spot with the Marlins. It's a very crowded NL Wild Card race so the Brewers might be better just trying to win their division as this point. The Nationals are in last place in the NL East, 24.5-games back of the Braves. They lost on Sunday and have a -94 run differential. The Brewers start Corbin Burnes today who is 9-6 in his 21 starts with a 3.46 ERA. Burnes has been very good on the road, posting a 5-3 record in his 11 away starts with a 3.00 ERA. In addition, Burnes has allowed just two runs over his last three starts and no more than two runs in any of his last five starts. Jake Irvin will start for the Nats with a 3-5 record in 15 starts and a 5.08 ERA. He's allowed 11 runs over his last three starts (14 2/3 innings). I like the Brewers with Burnes here today. I'll lay the Run Line with Milwaukee. |
07-29-23 | Twins -1.5 v. Royals | 7-10 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 3 m | Show
The Minnesota Twins look to snap a 3-game losing streak here today at Kansas City. The Twins lost the opening game of this set with the Royals on Friday, 5-8. That has them in 1st place in the AL Central, still one game ahead of 2nd place Cleveland. The Guardians also lost on Friday. The Royals are in last in the Central with a 30-75 record and have lost seven of their last 10 games. The Twins will start Bailey Ober today who is 6-4 in his 16 starts with a 2.76 ERA. He's been very good on the road with a 4-1 record in six starts and a 2.41 ERA. Jordan Lyles will start for the Royals with his 1-12 record in 19 starts and 6.02 ERA. Lyles had a couple of very good starts before getting hit up for nine hits and five runs in his five innings at the Yankees in his last start. I'll take the Twins today and lay the Run Line. |
07-25-23 | Pirates v. Padres -1.5 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
The Pittsburgh Pirates not all that long ago where in 1st place in the NL Central. Now, they sit in last place, 11.5-games back of the 1st place Brewers. They have also lost seven of their last 10 games. They did open this three game series with a win vs the Padres on Monday, 8-4. The Padres have been a big disappointment this year and now sit in 4th in the NL West, 10-games back of the Dodgers. Today's starter, Blake Snell, is in the mix for a player that could be traded before the looming MLB trade deadline. While Snell's season has been underwhelming, like the Padres, he's been very good of late. Snell is just 6-8 on the season with a 2.67 ERA. However, he's 4-2 in his last seven starts with a 0.69 ERA. Rich Hill will start for the Pirates with a 7-9 record in his 20 starts and a 4.92 ERA. He's been worse of late, going 1-4 in his last seven starts with a 6.03 ERA. I'll take San Diego here today and I'll lay the Run Line. |
07-25-23 | Royals v. Guardians -1.5 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 102 | 8 h 53 m | Show |
The Kansas City Royals don't have the worst record in baseball, but that's only because the Oakland A's are in the league. The Royals are 29-73 and 25-games back of the Twins in the AL Central. They also have a -167 run differential. The Guardians are 2nd in the AL Central, four games back of the Twins. The Guardians look to snap a two game losing streak here tonight. Zack Greinke will start today for the Royals with a 1-10 record in his 19 starts and a 5.40 ERA. That number is worse on the road where he is 0-6 in nine starts and a 7.42 ERA. Aaron Civale will toe the rubber for the Guardians with a 3-2 record in 11 starts and a 2.71 ERA. Civale has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last four starts. Big edge here today in pitching and the team to the Guardians. I'll take Cleveland and lay the Run Line. |
07-22-23 | Orioles v. Rays -1.5 | Top | 6-5 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 5 m | Show |
The Orioles and Rays are tied for 1st place in the AL East as they play this weekend set. The Rays won on Friday 3-0 to pull back into a tie in the division. Grayson Rodriguez will start for the Orioles with a 2-2 record in his 11 starts and a 7.33 ERA. He's allowed 22 runs over his last four starts (16 2/3 innings). The Rays will counter with their best here on Sunday in Shane McClanahan who is 11-1 in his 18 starts with a 2.56 ERA. He's been very good at home with a 5-0 record and 1.89 ERA. I'm taking the Rays here on Sunday and laying the Run Line. |
07-16-23 | Marlins v. Orioles -1.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 58 m | Show
The Miami Marlins look to be a longshot to catch the Braves in the AL East as they are now 9.5-games back. However, the Marlins do have the top spot in the NL Wild Card race by 1-game. The Orioles have closed the gap with 1st place Tampa Bay to just 2-games thanks in big part to a 7-game winning streak. The Marlins will start Steven Okert here today. Okert will make his first start of the season. Okert moves from the pen after a 2.43 ERA and 46 K's this season. Wheather or not his role is that of an opener today remains to be seen, but is likely. The Orioles will start Kyle Bradish who is 5-4 in his 16 starts with a 3.32 ERA. He's been a bit better at home in his seven starts with a 2.81 ERA. Bradish has also not allowed more than two runs in any of his last five starts. I'll lay the Run line here today with the hot Orioles. |
07-04-23 | Cardinals v. Marlins -1.5 | 2-15 | Win | 122 | 4 h 36 m | Show
Reason: St Louis still floundering in last place in the NL Central division with a 35-48 record and 10.5-games back of the Milwaukee Brewers after losing to the Marlins on Monday, 4-5. Miami having a very nice season as they are 49-37. However, that's only good for second in the NL East and 9-games back of the Braves. However, the silver lining is that the Marlins are the top Wild Card team at the moment with a 1.5-game cushion. The Cardinals will start Adam Wainwright here today with his 3-3 record and 7.45 ERA. Things haven't been good for Wainwright of late either, allowing 13 runs over his last two starts (4 2/3 innings). The Marlins will start Jesus Luzardo today who is 6-5 in his 17 starts and a 3.53 ERA. That ERA improves at home to 2.65 in his nine starts. I like the Marlins again here on Tuesday, but today I'll lay the Run Line with them. |
06-23-23 | Royals v. Rays -1.5 | 3-11 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show
It's the Penthouse vs the Outhouse today as the AL East Division leading Tampa Bay Rays vs the AL Central last place Kansas City Royals. The Royals will send veteran righthander Zach Greinke to the hill today. Greinke is 1-7 overall with a 4.81 ERA. Those numbers are worse on the road with a 0-4 record in seven starts and a 6. 15. The Royals start Zach Eflin today, who is one of their best. Eflin is 8-3 in his 13 starts with a 3.26 ERA. He's been almost perfect at home, 7-0 in seven starts with a 1.85. I don't see much chance for the Royals here today. I'll lay the Run Line with Tampa Bay. |
06-11-23 | Diamondbacks -1.5 v. Tigers | 7-5 | Win | 100 | 1 h 56 m | Show
Arizona has won four straight games while the Detroit Tigers have lost eight straight. Diamondbacks surprising everyone as they sit in first place in the NL West with a 39-25 record. Zac Gallen will start today with a 7-2 record and 2.75 ERA. Gallen ha allowed more than two runs just two times in his last 11 games. Joey Wentz starts for the Tigers with his 1-6 record in 12 starts. He has a 7.49 ERA on the season. No doubt the D'backs are the hot team in baseball and today they have their best on the hill. For me, I'll lay the Run Line and expect a blowout win from Arizona. |
05-15-23 | Diamondbacks -1.5 v. A's | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
The Arizona Diamondbacks are the closest team to first place LA Dodgers in the West, as they trail by three games with their 23-18 record. The D'backs have won three straight games taking three of four in their set vs San Francisco. Merrill Kelly will start for the D'backs today. Kelly is 3-3 with a 3.57 ERA. He's been very impressive on the road with a 1.15 ERA and 3-0 record in his three away starts. What can you say about the Oakland A's. It's almost a party event when they win these days. They did win one of their four games with Texas and that took 10 innings. In fact they scored more runs in that win (9) then they did combined in the three losses (3). The A's have the worst record in baseball at 9-33 and the worst run differential in baseball at -157 runs. Just in the Rangers series they were outscored 12-27. Drew Rucinski looking for his first win. He's 0-3 in three starts with a 8.16 ERA. Don't see him getting it here today either. Play the Diamondbacks on the Run Line. |
05-12-23 | Rangers -1.5 v. A's | 7-9 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 13 m | Show
It's just a dismal season for the Oakland A's. Not only are they the worst team in baseball with a 8-31 record, they also have the worst run differential in baseball at -146 runs. The A's have very little fan base left in the Bay Area as they are looking to relocate the team to Las Vegas. This are opposite for the Texas Rangers as they are in first place in the AL West with a 23-14 record and have one of the best run differentials as +86 runs. The Rangers will start Martin Perez today, who is 4-1 in his seven starts with a 3.86 ERA. He is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing seven runs over 3 2/3 innings to the Angels though the Rangers did win, 16-8. Oakland will counter with Ken Waldichuk who is 1-2 in his seven starts and a 7.25 ERA. Waldichuk's season has mirrored the A's season as he's been bad mostly with one good start out of seven. I had the Rangers on the Run line yesterday and won, so I'm going to do it again here on Friday. Take the Rangers on the Run Line. |
05-11-23 | Rangers -1.5 v. A's | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show
The Texas Rangers are in 1st place in the AL West with a 22-14 overall record. They have won seven of their last 10 games including yesterday's game over Seattle, 4-3. Now they begin this series with the A's. The A's are in last place in the West with a 8-30 record. Oakland not only has the fewest wins in baseball (8) but also the worst run differential of -142 runs. Nathan Eovaldi will start for the Rangers with a 4-2 record and 3.22 ERA. Eovaldi has been hot of late too, allowing no runs over his last two starts, 17 innings and eight hits. While the A's have not officially listed a starter, for me it doesn't really matter as they will not be getting much vs Eovaldi tonight. Play the Rangers on the Run line vs any Oakland pitcher. |
05-04-23 | Mariners -1.5 v. A's | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 9 m | Show
The Seattle Mariners trying to find that success they had last season are jut 13-16 on the season. They have won two straight games, including Wednesday's game over the A's in extra innings. They will look for the sweep against the A's here on Thursday. One strength of this team has been their bullpen, as they have just a 2.92 overall ERA. George Kirby will make his sixth start here today. Kirby is 2-2 on the season with a 2.94 ERA. That goes down on the road to just 1.29 ERA in his two road starts. The A's continue to struggle with the League's worst record at 6-24. They also have the worst run differential in baseball at -118 runs. Drew Rucinski is 0-1 with just one start coming last week against the Reds where he went just 5 2/3 innings and allowed 11 hits and five runs. Doesn't really matter who the A's start here today, I'm taking the Mariners on the Run Line. |
05-03-23 | Orioles -1.5 v. Royals | 0-6 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 11 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles continue to put up impressive numbers, going 20-9 and in 2nd place in the AL East. The AL East is the toughest division in baseball with all five teams above the .500 mark. The O's have won three straight games and eight of their last 10. Today, they send Kyle Gibson to the hill. Gibson is 4-0 in his six starts with a 3.93 ERA. The Royals play in one of the weakest divisions in baseball, the AL Central. Only one team, Minnesota, is above the .500 mark. The Royals are last in the division with a 7-23 record and have lost two straight and seven of their last 10. Zack Greinke will toe the rubber today. Greinke is 0-4 in his six starts with a 6.10 ERA. He's coming off his worst start of the season, going 3 2/3 innings vs the Twins, allowing eight hits and seven runs. I will have no issue laying the Run line tonight with the Orioles. |
05-02-23 | Twins -1.5 v. White Sox | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 23 m | Show
Reason: The Minnesota Twins are in first place in what appears to be the weakest division in baseball thus far, the AL Central. The Twins are the only team above .500 at 17-12 and the only team with a plus run differential (+26). The Twins took three of four games from the Royals, including yesterday's game, 8-4. Today, Joe Ryan will get the start. Ryan off to a great start for the Twins at 5-0 with a 2.81 ERA. He's been very good on the road too with a 3-0 record and 2.37 ERA. The White Sox are 8-21 and nine games back of the Twins. They are reeling with a 1-10 record in their last 11 games. Michael Kopech is 0-3 in his five starts with a 7.01 ERA. He's 0-1 in two home starts with a 9.31 ERA. Big difference in starters and teams here today. Everything is on the side of the Twins in this game. I'll lay the Run Line with Minnesota. |
05-01-23 | Cubs -1.5 v. Nationals | 5-1 | Win | 131 | 8 h 45 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs look to snap a recent skid they are in, losing three straight games and seven of their last 10 games. The Cubs were swept at Miami over the weekend, losing the final game on Sunday, 3-4. In fact, all three losses were by one run. Drew Smyly will try and turn around their fortunes today. Smyly is 2-1 in his five starts with a 3.21 ERA. Smyly started the season giving up seven runs over 4 2/3 innings to the Reds. Since then, he's allowed a total of four runs over his last four starts (3-1) with 24 KO's and just four walks. The Nationals are in last place in the NL East with a 10-17 record. The Nats lost two of three games to the Pirates over the weekend, but did take Sunday's contest, 7-2. Mackenzie Gore will start today with a 3-1 record in his five starts. He has a 3.00 ERA and 1.296 WHIP. Gore has been very consistent this season, allowing two or one run in each start except one where he allowed three runs. I like Smyly and the way he's pitching here today. Take the Cubs on the RUn Line. |
04-18-23 | Cubs -1.5 v. A's | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 21 h 1 m | Show |
The Cubs rolled yesterday over the A's, winning 10-1. The Win increased their record to 9-6 and 8-3 over their last 11 games. The Cubs also have a nifty +25 Run differential. Marcus Stroman will make his fourth start today. Stroman is 2-1 on the season with a 1.00 ERA and 1.000 WHIP. He's allowed just two runs over his 18 innings. The Rockies dropped to 5-13 on the season and their run differential is a whopping -47 as they have lost seven straight and nine of their last 11 games. The A's will start Ken Waldichuk or the fourth time this year. He has a 0-2 record with a 10.20 ERA and 1.933 WHIP. Waldichuk has been hit hard and Stroman has been great. I'm laying the Run Line here today with the Cubs. |
04-13-23 | Tigers v. Blue Jays -1.5 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 10 m | Show |
The Toronto Blue Jays are off to a good start at 8-4. But unfortunately they are in the same division as the 12-0 Rays. They have also won three straight games. The Detroit Tigers it's just more of the same thus far with a 2-9 record and six straight losses. They also have the 2nd worst run differential in the AL with a -42 runs. Spencer Turnbull will start today for the Tigers with a 0-2 record after two starts. He's allowed 15 hits and 12 runs over just 8 innings of work. The Jays will counter with Chris Bassitt. Bassitt is 1-1 after two starts with a 10.61 ERA. After allowing nine runs in 3 1/3 innings of his initial start, he settled down at the Angels, allowing two hits and two earned runs over six innings. I'll lay the Run Line today with the Jays and Bassitt. |
04-05-23 | Rays -1.5 v. Nationals | Top | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 12 m | Show |
Tampa Bay is the only undefeated team left in baseball at 5-0. They also have a mind blowing +26 run differential, as they have scored 37 runs and allowed just 11 on the season. They look to sweep this series with the Nationals after taking the first two games. Today then send Shane McClanahan back to the hill. He started on opening day and went six solid innings for the win over the Tigers. He allowed just four hits and one walk in the win. The Nationals are just 1-4 to start the season. They have a -16 run differential and have scored just 15 runs in five games. Pat Corbin makes his second start of the season. Corbin went just three innings in his season debut vs the Braves, allowing seven hits and four runs over just three innings. I will gladly lay the Run-Line here today in what looks like a Tampa Bay blowout win. |
04-01-23 | Braves -1.5 v. Nationals | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 3 h 12 m | Show
The Braves opened their season on Thursday with a convincing win over the Nationals, 7-2. I had them on the Run line in that opening game. They took off yesterday and resume here today against the Nat. They will start Spencer Strider, who was 11-5 last year with a 2.67 ERA. The Nationals will start Josiah Gray, who was 7-10 last year with a 5.02 ERA. Braves expected to contend for the division title again this year. I will lay the Run Line with the Braves again here on Saturday. |
03-30-23 | Braves -1.5 v. Nationals | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 1 h 5 m | Show
The Braves one of the better teams in the preseason, ended up 2nd in the Grapefruit league with a 18-10 record. They finished the preseason with five straight wins and eight of the last nine. As for the Washington Nationals, they ended with a 13-12 mark and 4-4 down the stretch. Max Fried gets the start today for the Braves after a 14-7 mark last year and 2.48 ERA. The Nationals counter with Patrick Corbin who was 6-19 last year with a 6.31 ERA. Atlanta a big favorite here today, so I'll lay the Run Line with the Braves in this early game. |
10-19-22 | Yankees v. Astros -1.5 | 2-4 | Win | 130 | 7 h 5 m | Show
The Yankees and Guardians finally got their decisive game five completed on Tuesday with the Yanks taking the contest, 5-1. Houston finally gets back into the game after being off since last Saturday when they took care of Seattle, 1-0 in 18 innings. Justin Verlander will get the start in game one tonight. Verlander had a rare bad start in his last game on Oct 11th vs Seattle where he allowed six runs over four innings of work. Still, he's a favorite for Cy-Young this year with his 18-4 record and 2.01 ERA. The Yankees will counter with Jameson Taillon who is 14-5 overall but has yet to start in the postseason. Tallion has a overall 3.91 ERA but a 4.36 road ERA. Rough series for the Yankees against Cleveland and they might be in for a bit of a letdown here in game one at Houston tonight. I'll lay the Run Line with the Astros. |
10-03-22 | Diamondbacks v. Brewers -1.5 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
This is it for the Milwaukee Brewers. With the final series of the season at hand the Brewers trail the Philadelphia Phillies by two games for the final Wild Card spot. The Phillies have a tough 3-game series at Houston so it's no cake walk for them. However, the Brewers welcomen the Arizona Diamondbacks to town. The D'backs start Tommy Henry tonight who is 3-4 in his eight starts with a 5.98 ERA. Henry has allowed 17 earned runs over his last three starts (13 innings). The Brewers hopes ride with Brandon Woodruff who has been excellent all season with a 13-4 record and 3.05 ERA. He's been very perfect at home with an 8-0 record and 1.98 ERA. I'm taking the Brewers on the Run line tonight in what should be a blowout Milwaukee win. |
09-22-22 | Mariners -1.5 v. A's | 9-5 | Win | 100 | 15 h 41 m | Show
Seattle with a tough loss on Wednesday to the A's, 1-2. The loss puts the Mariners in 3rd place in the AL Wild Card race, 1/2 game back of Tampa Bay and 2.5 games back of Toronto. However, they still maintain a 4-game lead over 4th place Baltimore. George Kirby will look to get the M's back in the win column today. Kirby is 7-4 in his 22 starts with a 2.98 ERA. He's been very good of late, going 4-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.11 ERA. The A's can continue to be a thorn in the side of the Mariners and Adrian Martinez will try and do just that. Martinez is 4-5 in is nine starts with a 5.77 ERA. Martinez has allowed 11 runs over his last 8 2/3 innings. I'm going to lay the RUN line here today with the Mariners. |
09-16-22 | Royals v. Red Sox -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Kansas City travels to Beantown today to face the Boston Red Sox. The Royals are coming off a road loss last night at Minnesota, 2-3. That makes three losses in a row for the Twins and seven of the last nine. Jon Heasley starts tonight for the Sox with a 3-8 record and 5.51 ERA. That number goes up last seven starts with a 2-4 record and 6.75 ERA. Boston plays in the most competitive division in baseball as the other four teams all in playoff contention. Only last place Boston is out of the postseason. Michael Wacha has been the ACE of the staff this year with a 11-1 record and 2.69 ERA. At home he has been even better with a 5-1 record and 1.79 ERA. I'll lay the run line tonight with the Red Sox. |
09-06-22 | Rangers v. Astros -1.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 17 m | Show |
The Houston Astros have the AL West locked-up with a 87-48 record and 11-game lead over the Mariners. They also hold a 6-game lead over the Yankees for the best record in the A.L. So for now there is little pressure on this club. However, whenever their rivals for upstate come to down it's always makes for a great series. The Rangers have been horrible of late, losing 9-straight games, including last night's opener with the Astros, 0-1. Glenn Otto will try to wright the ship today as he's 6-8 in his 21 starts with a 4.82 ERA. Will be a tall order for Otto and the Rangers though as they face one of the best Astros pitchers in Framber Valdez. Valdez is 14-4 on the season with a 2.63 ERA. Valdez has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. He's also allowed more than three runs just one time in his 25 starts this season. Rest assured the Rangers won't score much here today. I'll take the Astros on the Run line against a poor starter in Otto. |
09-02-22 | Cubs v. Cardinals -1.5 | 0-8 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
These two old rivals begin a 3-game set today from St Louis. The Cardinals have opened up a 6.5-game lead in the NL Central over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cards took two of their three games from the Reds, including Thursday's contest, 5-3. That makes them 4-1 in their last five games. Jordan Montgomery will start today for the Red Birds with a 7-3 record in his 26 starts and a 3.28 ERA. He is off a tough start where he went five innings vs the Braves and allowed eight hits and five runs. That snapped a streak of four games where he had allowed a total of just one total run. The Cubs were able to salvage the final game of their three game set with the Blue Jays, winning 7-5 to get one win. Adrian Sampson will start today with a 1-4 record in his 12 starts and a 4.35 ERA. The Cardinals have all the momentum and should win this game going away. Lay the Run line with the Cardinals. |
08-30-22 | Rockies v. Braves -1.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -165 | 8 h 40 m | Show
While the Braves hope to catch the Mets and win the division, they can take some comfort in knowing they have the top NL WildCard all but locked-up. The Braves have a 8.5 game lead over 2nd place Philly. With the Mets having to play the Dodgers, the Braves hope to make a move on them and it starts tonight. Max Fried starts with a 12-4 record and 2.52 ERA. Fried has allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last four starts. The Rockies snapped a four game losing streak with a win over the Mets on Monday, 1-0. They have now scored one or no runs in three of their last four games. Jose Urena will start tonight with a 2-5 record and 6.35 ERA. He's been much worse of late, going 1-4 in his last seven starts with a 9.19 ERA. I'm taking the Mets on the Run Line in what should be a rout tonight. |
08-28-22 | Pirates v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 5-0 | Loss | -145 | 12 h 37 m | Show |
The Philadelphia Phillies got the shut-out win over the Pirates on Saturday, 6-0. That makes six straight wins for the Phillies, including two straight over the Bucs. They have outscored the Bucs in the two games, 13-4. Noah Syndergaard gets the start today for Philly with a 8-8 overall record in 19 starts and a 3.77 ERA. He's been slightly better of late with a 3-2 record in seven starts with a 3.63 ERA. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has lost seven straight after their setback on Saturday. They have also been outscored 14-54 over their last six games. Roansy Contreras will start today for Pitsburgh. Contreras is 2-4 in 11 starts with a 3.90 ERA. That ERA goes up to 4.89 ERA over his last seven starts. With Atlanta or NY having a strangle hold on the NL top Wild Card, it's a battle for the final two. Right now Philly has that 2nd spot, 2.5 games ahead of the Padres and five games ahead of the Brewers. They know they need wins against teams like Pittsburgh to keep their postseason hopes going. Take Philly on the Run Line today. |
08-26-22 | Yankees v. A's +1.5 | 3-2 | Win | 112 | 9 h 29 m | Show
The Yankees have won four straight games after their win over the A's on Thursday, 13-4. While the Yankees offense hasn't exploded in some time, the 13 runs last night was more than their previous three games combined. Gerrit Cole gets the start tonight for the Yankees with a 9-6 record in his 25 starts and a 3.41 ERA. Cole hasn't been that good of late, posting a 1-4 record in his last seven starts and a 4.30 ERA. The A's will counter tonight with JP Sears. Sears has been a bright spot in what has otherwise been a bad season. Sears has started five games and has a 4-0 record and 1.04 ERA. He's coming off a win over the Mariners as a +1.9 dog, allowing just one run over five innings for the win. I'm taking the Run Line here with the A's since I get +1.5 runs and still a plus money line. Play Oakland on the money line. |
08-25-22 | Twins v. Astros -1.5 | 3-6 | Win | 120 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Looks lie the Minnesota Twins are going to have a uphill battle to make the Playoffs. They were in 1st for a good portion of the season, but now have fallen back and trail the Wild Card race by four-games with four teams ahead of them. Won't get any easier as they play at 1st place Houston tonight. The Twins are already in a 5-game losing streak. Chris Archer will try to turn that around with a 2-6 record and 4.02 ERA. The Astros have won three straight and five of their last seven games. Luis Garcia will toe the rubber for the Astros with a 10-8 record and 4.01 ERA. The way the Twins are struggling, I'll lay the Run-Line here with the Astros. |
08-25-22 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | 3-8 | Win | 125 | 2 h 55 m | Show
Reason: Tampa Bay holding onto that top Wild Card slot at 1.5 games up right now for that race. They are in contention with two other AL East tames, the Jays and the Orioles. The Mariners hold the third spot currently with the Jays second. The Rays are looking for the four-game sweep here tonight vs the Angels. They have outscored LA in the three games, 17-5. They will face Patrick Sandoval today who is 4-8 in his 20 starts with a 2.97 ERA. The Rays will counter with Drew Rasmussen who is 8-2 in his 21 starts and a 2.82 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 5-1 record in 10 starts and a 1.99 ERA. I'll lay the Run Line here early on Thursday with the Rays. |
08-23-22 | Braves -1.5 v. Pirates | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Reason: The Braves will make the postseason and be able to defend their Championship. They are 8-games in front of the next team for the top Wild Card slot. However, they still have the Mets in their sights for the AL East, just three-games back. The Braves beat Pittsburgh in game one of this three-game set last night, 2-1. Tonight, they will send Max Fried to the hill with a 11-4 record in his 23 starts and a 2.60 ERA. Fried has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last 10 starts. The Pirates have lost three straight games, due in part to the bad bullpen of late which has a 6.12 ERA over its last seven games. J.T. Brubaker will start today for the Bucs with a 3-10 record and 4.19 ERA over his 23 starts. Brubaker has pitched better than his 3-10 indicates, but again, this is Pittsburgh. I'll take the Braves and lay the Run Line. |
08-23-22 | Cardinals -1.5 v. Cubs | 0-2 | Loss | -115 | 2 h 16 m | Show
Reason: Game one of this doubleheader here on Tuesday has the St Louis Cardinals taking on the Chicago Cubs. St Louis trailed Milwaukee in the NL Central back in late July. Now, some 3-weeks Plus later they sit 5-games in 1st place over the Brewers. Adam Wainwright is 9-8 on the season with a 3.11 ERA. He's been better of late with a 3-1 record in his last seven starts and a 3.02 ERA. Wainwright has allowed one run or zero in four of his last five starts. The Chicago Cubs had their five-game win streak snapped by the Brewers and then lost again last night in the opening game of this series, 0-1. The Cubs have called up Javier Assad to start game one here today. Assad has a 2.66 ERA this year in both Double-A and Triple-A combined. Whether Assad's good play will carry over to the big league we'll see. I'm sticking with a very strong Cards team today and laying the run line. |
08-22-22 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
The Angels and Rays begin a four-game set tonight from Tampa Bay. The Angels have lost two-straight games and five of their last six. Tucker Davidson makes his sixth start of the season. Davidson is 2-3 with a 5.56 ERA. He has a slightly higher 6.00 ERA in his two road starts. Tampa Bay has won two straight games and has improved to 65-55 on the season. The Rays, Jays and Mariners are all tied for the top three Wild Card slots, with the Twins and Orioles 2.5-games back. Jeffrey Springs starts for the Rays today. Springs is 4-3 in his 16 starts with a nifty 2.85 ERA. He has allowed just three total runs over his last three starts (16 innings). I'll take the home club here today as LA has to make the long trip East and that is never easy. Lay the Run Line with the Tampa Bay Rays. |
08-19-22 | Marlins v. Dodgers -1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
The Miami Marlins took two of three games from the San Diego Padres, though they dropped the rubber game on Thursday, 3-10. Tonight they move a bit North to LA to take on team with the best record in baseball, the Dodgers. Miami will start Jesus Luzardo who is 3-5 with a 3.72 ERA in his nine starts. The Dodgers are coming off a split of their four game series in Milwaukee, dropping last night's contest, 3-5. They have now won 14 of their last 17 games. Tyler Anderson has been great this year for the Dodgers with a 12-2 record in his 20 starts. Anderson has a 2.84 ERA overall, 2.30 at home and 2.25 in his last seven starts. The Dodgers should have little trouble with this Marlins team. I'm laying the Run Line. |

08-18-22 | Rockies v. Cardinals -1.5 | 0-13 | Win | 100 | 2 h 12 m | Show
The St Louis Cardinals look for the 3-game sweep here today from the Colorado Rockies. The Cardinals have leapt into 1st place in the NL Central Division with a 65-51 record and a 3-game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers. Adam Wainwright will toe the rubber today for the Red Birds. Wainwright is 8-8 in his 23 starts with a 3.27 ERA. He's been better at home with a 4-3 record in 12 starts and a 2.30 ERA. The Rockies have lost four straight games heading into today's action. Antonio Senzatela starts today for Colorado with a 3-6 record and 4.67 ERA. He's been slightly worse on the road where he is 0-4 in seven starts with a 5.50 ERA. I look for the Cardinals to continue their dominance over the Rockies and extend their win streak here today. I'll lay the Run Line with Wainwright and the Cards. |
08-13-22 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Royals | 13-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show
The Dodgers continue their assault over both leagues as they have now won their 11th-game in a row after Friday's win over the Royals, 8-3. Tony Gonsolin had a no hitter into the 7th before a pair of his drove him from the game. Today, it looks to be a repeat of yesterday as Andrew Heaney takes to the mound for his 7th start of the season. Heany has been excellent with a 1-0 record and 0.64 ERA his his six starts. Only the Giants and Indians cracked the scoreboard against his thus far. The Royals counter with Brad Keller who is 6-12 in his 21 starts with a 4.60 ERA. Really doesn't matter who the Royals throw on the hill here today, they won't be stopping this offense of the Dodgers. I'll lay the Run Line with LA. |
08-12-22 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Royals | Top | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and not only that, they have won 10-straight games! They have an amazing lineup of hitters, the starting staff is among the best in baseball and their relief pitching has been outstanding. All the elements of another Dodgers run to the World Series? Well, the Mets might have something to say about that. But, the Royals will not today. Tony Gonsolin is 13-1 and coming off another solid performance where he allowed no runs and just three hits over five innings. The Royals have been playing decent, winning two straight and five of their last six. Daniel Lynch will start today with a 4-7 record and 4.79 ERA. He's actually slightly worse at home with a 1-3 record in seven starts and a 5.97 ERA. I'm sticking with the red-hot Dodgers and laying the run line! |
08-10-22 | Rangers v. Astros -1.5 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -135 | 8 h 10 m | Show |
The Texas Rangers lost game one of this three game set with their instate rivals, Houston. The Astros took game one, 7-5 on Tuesday. The Rangers dropped to 48-61 and have no postseason hopes. Glenn Otto starts today with a 4-8 record in his 16 starts and a 5.31 ERA. Otto has been ok of late but the team has not won any of his last seven starts and Otto is 0-5 during that same span. The Houston Astros are cruising to their AL West Championship with a 71-40 record and 11.5-games ahead of 2nd place Seattle. Their ACE, Just Verlander will toe the rubber today. Verlander is 15-3 in his 20 starts with a 1.73 ERA. He's been even better of late with a 7-0 record in his last seven starts and a 0.76 ERA. I'm going to lay the Run Line here with the Astros and look for an easy win. |
08-01-22 | Mets -1.5 v. Nationals | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 28 m | Show
The Mets closed out their series with the Marlins with a win on Sunday, 9-3. The Win extended the Mets win streak to six games with the sweep of Miami. The Mets need every win as the Braves are hot on their heals just four games back in the NL East. The Mets will start Max Scherzer here on Monday. Scherzer is 6-2 on the season with a 2.09 ERA. He's been even better of late with a 2-1 mark in his last seven starts and a 1.40 ERA. Scherzer hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last seven starts. The Nationals lost two of their three games to St Louis after Sunday's setback, 0-5. Pat Corbin makes his 22nd start today. Corbin has had a rough season with a 4-14 record and 6.49 ERA. He's allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts. The Mets need wins against teams like this to keep their lead in the division and with Scherzer on the hill I'll lay the Run line with New York. |
07-27-22 | Cardinals v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 6-1 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 29 m | Show
The St Louis Cardinals have lost two straight games after dropping game one of this series with the Blue Jays on Tuesday, 3-10. The Cardinals have closed the gap on the Brewers in the NL Central, now back just 3-games. Adam Wainwright will start today for the red birds. Wainwright is 6-8 in his 19 starts with a 3.40 ERA. He's been a bit worse lately, going 1-4 in his last seven starts with a 4.36 ERA. The Blue Jays are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, winning seven straight games. Still, they are really fighting for a AL Wild Card since they still trail the Yankees by 11.5-games. Kevin Gausman will get the start today for the Jays with a 7-7 record and 3.00 ERA. Gausman has allowed more than three runs only once in his 18 starts this year. I'll lay the Run line today with a very hot Jays team and Gausman. |
07-07-22 | Cardinals v. Braves -1.5 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
The St Louis Cardinals look to snap a four-game losing streak here today in Atlanta. The Cardinals had closed the gap in the NL Central with the Brewers before this losing streak. They now trail Milwaukee by 3-games. Matthew Liberatore will start today for the Red Birds with a 2-1 record in his five starts and a 5.66 ERA. He has been hit hard in his three road starts with a 0-1 record and 10.978 ERA. The Braves have closed the gap in the NL East to just 2.5-games behind the NY Mets after winning three straight and five of their last six games. Spencer Strider will get the start today with a 3-1 record in his seven starts and a 3.82 ERA. Strider has a great fastball and lately has been on his game, allowing just one run over his last 12 innings with 18 KO's and just one walk. I look for Strider to dominate the Cardinals hitters here today. I'll lay the Run Line with the Braves |
07-02-22 | Braves -1.5 v. Reds | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 32 m | Show
Reason: The Atlanta Braves had an easy win in game one of this series with the Reds, 9-1. That was the team's third win in four games. The Braves have been very good on the road, winning 12 of their last 15 away games. They are also 22-6 their last 28 games. Spencer Strider has looked excellent for the Braves with a 2-1 record in his six starts and a 4.29 ERA. He is coming off a excellent performance in LA where he went six innings vs the Dodgers allowing no runs and striking out seven. Strider has a fast ball that consistently breaks the 100 mph barrier. The Reds have lost three straight games, getting outscored 11-32 in the process. Their bullpen has also been horrible, posting a 10.64 ERA over their last seven games and a 5.78 ERA overall. That puts more pressure on today's starter, Tyler Mahle. Mahle is 3-6 in his 16 starts with a 4.23 ERA. I don't see this Reds team making much contact vs Strider and his over powering stuff. I'll lay the Run Line with the Braves today. |
07-01-22 | Braves -1.5 v. Reds | 9-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 11 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves continue to close the gap in the NL East as they trail the NY Mets by just 3.5-games. The Braves took two of their three games with the Phillies, losing on Thursday. Today they begin their 3-game set at Cincinnati and Max Fried will get the start today. Fried is 7-2 in his 15 starts with a 2.77 ERA. Fried has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts. Cincinnati has lost two straight games and 10 of their last 13 games. Mike Minor will start today for the Reds. Minor is 1-4 in his five starts with a 7.72 ERA. Minor has allowed at least three runs in each start and at least four runs in four of his starts. I'll lay the Run Line today with the Braves. |
06-19-22 | Phillies -1.5 v. Nationals | 3-9 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 3 m | Show
The Philadelphia Phillies look for the 5-game sweep of the Nationals here today after their win on Saturday, 2-1. They have outscored the O's thus far, 25-12. Zach Eflin will get the start today for the Phils. Eflin is 2-4 this season in 11-starts with a 4.28 ERA. He has pitched well in his last three starts, allowing five total runs over 18 innings. Washington is in last in the NL East with a 23.46 record and have lost eight straight games and 11 of their last 13 games. Jackson Tetreault makes his second start of the season after a pretty disastrous one in his first start. Tetreault allowed nine hits an seven runs over four innings vs the Braves. The Phillies should sweep here today and likely in a blowout win. |
06-18-22 | Phillies -1.5 v. Nationals | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 27 m | Show |
The Philadelphia Phillies opened this five game set with the Nationals by taking the first three games, including both ends of yesterday's doubleheader. In fact, they have outscored the Nationals by a 23-11 margin thru the first three games. The Phils will send Aaron Nola to the hill today with a 4-4 record over his 13 starts and a 3.42 ERA. He's been slightly better on the road with a 2-3 record in six starts and a 2.70 ERA. Nola has allowed just two total runs over his last two starts (15 innings) with 12 KO's and no walks. In fact, Nola is one of the best control pitchers in baseball with no walks over his last 29 1/3 innings. The Nats have dropped to 22-games under the .500 mark with a 23-45 record. They have lost seven straight and 10 of their last 12 games. Josiah Gray will get the start today for the Nats. Gray is 6-4 with a 4.33 ERA, though that ERA shoots up to 7.14 in his six home starts. Gray has been very good of late, allowing just two total earned runs over his last three starts (16 innings). However, unlike Nola, he's allowed eight walks over his last 16 innings. Hard to find any reason to back the Nats, though Gray is one pitcher you could make a case for. Still, Philly hitting the ball great and Nola doesn't walk batters and that means his team wins the games for him. I'll take Philly again today on the Run Line. |
06-17-22 | Phillies -1.5 v. Nationals | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 30 m | Show
The Philadelphia Phillies had little issues with the Nationals in game one of their four game series that began on Thursday, beating them 10-1. The Phillies are now 33-31 overall as they try to make up ground on the 1st place Mets. These clubs play a doubleheader here on Friday with this being the early contest. Ranger Suarez will start game one with a 4-4 record in his 12 starts and a 4.40 ERA. He's pitched well of late, allowing two runs in each of his last three starts. The Nationals have lost five straight games as they have dropped to 23-43 and last place in the NL East. Joan Adon will start today and he's had a rough season thus far with a 1-10 record in 12 starts and a 6.95 ERA. He allowed eight runs and seven hits over just three innings in his last start at Miami. I had the Phillies on the Run line yesterday, I see no reason to change that here today. Take the Phillies in game one on the Run Line. |
06-16-22 | Phillies -1.5 v. Nationals | 10-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
The Philadelphia Phillies trail the NY Mets in the NL East by 8.5-games as they sit at 32-31 overall. The Phillies won two of their three games vs Miami, including last night's contest 3-1. Today, they hit the road for a series at Washington. Zack Wheeler will get the start for the Phils today. Wheeler is 5-3 in his 11 starts with a 2.84 ERA. He has been very consistent, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his last eight starts. Washington looks to snap a four-game losing streak here today. They have also lost seven of their last nine games. Pat Corbin gets the start with a 3-8 record in his 13 starts and a 6.65 ERA. He's been hit hard, allowing four runs or more in four of his last six starts. I like Philly a lot today, so I'll have to lay the Run Line to get the price down. |
06-16-22 | Padres -1.5 v. Cubs | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs continue their slide, now at a 9-game losing streak. They play their final game here today at Wrigley against the Padres after dropping the first two games by a combined 10-31 score! In fact, they have allowed 12 runs or more in three of their last four games. Matt Swarmer will make his fourth start of the season here today. Swarmer is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA. He did allow six runs and seven hits in his last start at the Yankees. The Padres are in 1st place in the NL West, leading the Dodgers now by 1-game with a 40-24 record. In addition, the Padres have the best road record in baseball. Today they get their best pitcher on the hill in Joe Musgrove. Musgrove is 7-0 in his 11 starts with a 1.50 ERA. He has allowed just one run over his last four starts (27 innings). I'll lay the run line today with the Padres as they should win another blowout contest with the Cubs. |
06-08-22 | Yankees -1.5 v. Twins | 1-8 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 22 m | Show
Yankees have now won seven straight games, after taking game one of this set from the Twins, 10-4. They actually haven't just won, they have dominated, outscoring their opponents 48-11 during the seven games. Today, they have one of their best, if not their best, on the mound in Nestor Cortes. Cortes is 5-1 in his 10 starts with a 1.50 ERA and 0.867 WHIP. He has been just as good on the road with a 3-1 record and 1.50 ERA. Cortes has allowed one run or fewer in four of his last five starts. The Twins are in 1st in the AL Central, but this is the softest division in baseball as no other team is even over the .500 mark. The Twins have lost five of their last seven games. Christ Archer gets the start today with a 0-2 record in his 10 starts. Archer has a 3.89 ERA overall and a 5.00 home ERA. I see this matchup as a total mismatch. The Yankees are red hot and have a huge advantage in pitching today. I'll lay the Run line with the Yankees. |
06-05-22 | Astros -1.5 v. Royals | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 20 m | Show
The Houston Astros sit comfortably in 1st in the AL West, 6.5 games ahead of the LA Angels. Still, it's hard to accept a 0-6 loss to the lowly Royals as they did last night. Today is the rubber game of the series and the Astros won't want to let this series go down. Framber Valdez starts today with a 5-2 record in his 10 starts. Valdez has a nice 2.57 ERA and better 1.40 road ERA this season. He has allowed one run in three of his last four starts. Moreover, he's allowed no more than three runs in nine of his 10 starts this season. The Royals are in last in the AL Central with a 17-34 record. They have lost five of their last six games. Jon Heasley will start today. Heasley is 0-2 in his four starts with a 4.66 ERA and 5.40 home ERA. While Heasley hasn't been bad, don't think he has enough to take this series from the 1st place Astros. Lay the Run line with Houston. |
06-05-22 | Tigers v. Yankees -1.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -135 | 1 h 11 m | Show
The Yankees have heated up again, now winning five straight games as they look for the sweep over Detroit today. They took both games in big fashion, shutting out the Tigers in game one 13-0 and again in game two, 3-0. Jordan Montgomery will start today with a 1-1 record in his 10 starts and a 3.04 ERA. He's been very consistent, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his 10 starts. The Tigers will have to find some offense today if they look to avoid the sweep. Rony Garcia will be on the hill and he looks to be more cannon fodder for the Bronx Bombers. Garcia is 0-1 in his two starts with a 8.00 ERA. The only good thing, he's struck out 12 and walked just three. I look for another lopsided Yankees win here today. I'll lay the Run Line with New York. |
06-04-22 | Tigers v. Yankees -1.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 42 m | Show |
The Detroit Tigers had their modest 3-game win streak snapped on Friday by the Yankees, 0-13. The Tigers will look to be more competitive today with Beau Brieske on the hill. However, that doesn't look to promising with his 0-4 record in seven starts and 5.24 ERA. The Yankees have won three straight games after Friday's white wash of the Tigers. In fact, the Yankees four game win streak they have outscored opponents by a 30-3 margin. Luis Severino on the hill today with a 3-1 record in his nine starts and a 3.38 ERA. Doesn't really matter who they start though, they should pound the Tigers once again. I'm laying the Run Line with the Yankees. |
05-27-22 | Astros -1.5 v. Mariners | 1-6 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 43 m | Show
The Houston Astros took the last two games of their three game set with the Guardians. The Astros are in 1st place in the AL West, 2.5-games ahead of the Angels. Justin Verlander will take the hill today. Verlander looks to once again be a Cy Young candidate with his dominating performances thus far. Verlander is 6-1 in his eight starts with a 1.22 ERA. He has not allowed a run in any of his last three starts (19 innings). Seattle has dropped two straight games to fall to 18-27 overall. The Mariners also fell into last in the AL West. Chris Flexen was very good last year, but not this season. He has a 1-6 record in his eight games with a 4.98 ERA. He has also allowed 14 runs over his last 14 1/3 innings. Verlander has been dominating and I don't see the M's giving him much of a problem tonight. Lay the Run Line with the Astros. |
05-21-22 | Rangers v. Astros -1.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -120 | 17 h 55 m | Show
The Texas Rangers took game two of this series to even it at one game a piece with their win on Friday. The Rangers got a shutout win over the Astros, 3-0. The Rangers will start Jon Gray here today. Gray is 1-1 in his five starts this year with a 5.73 ERA. Gray is coming off a 5 2/3 inning outing vs the Angels where he allowed four runs and eight hits. The Astros were shut out for the first time since their game on April 20th. Justin Verlander will toe the rubber here today for the Astros. Verlander is 5-1 in his seven starts with a 1.38 ERA and 0.679 WHIP. Verlander has gone 13 innings without allowing a run and just three hits. Verlander is pitching great right now and I look for a bounce back here today with the Astros. I'll lay the Run Line with Houston. |
05-15-22 | Astros -1.5 v. Nationals | Top | 8-0 | Win | 100 | 5 h 60 m | Show |
The Houston Astros had their 11-game win streak snapped on Saturday by Washington, 6-13. The Astros pitching must have taken the day off after shutting out three of their previous five opponents. The win streak brought the team to within 1-game of the AL West leading Angels. Right now it's a two-team race in the AL West with the other three teams all below the .500 mark. Justin Verlander takes the hill today and is looking like his old Cy Young self. Verlander is 4-1 in six starts with a 1.55 ERA. He's been even better on the road with a 3-1 mark and 0.64 ERA. Washington is just 12-23 on the season and in last place in the NL East. The Nats are 3-7 over their last 10-games. Pat Corbin will start today and he's been in bad shape all season. Corbin is 0-5 in his seven starts with a 6.06 ERA. I don't see the Astros losing this game, but I'll have to lay the Run Line with the big price on their heads. Play Houston Run Line. |
05-09-22 | Brewers -1.5 v. Reds | 5-10 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 7 m | Show
The Brewers feasted on the Reds last week, taking all three games by a combined score of 34-12. The Brewers look for more of the same here tonight as they look to snap a 2-game losing streak after dropping two of three at Atlanta. Brandon Woodruff gets the start for the Brewers with a 3-1 record in five starts and a 5.18 ERA. Woodruff got the win in his start last week against the Reds, 6-3. The Reds have improved to 5-23 if you consider they won just 3 of their first 20 games and two of their last three games. Sure, it was against Pittsburgh. The Reds have activated Luis Castillo today from the 10-day IL. The Reds have had a whopping 14-players on the DL this year. I don't expect to see Castillo in top form yet as that will take some time. I'm laying the Run Line with the Brewers. |
05-09-22 | Rangers v. Yankees -1.5 | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 32 m | Show

05-08-22 | Nationals v. Angels -1.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 48 m | Show
The Washington Nationals are 10-19 after winning their game against the Angels on Saturday, 7-3. They look to take the three game series here today at LA. Erick Fedde toes the rubber today for the Nats. Fedde has a 2-2 record in his five starts with a 4.68 ERA. The AL West leading LA Angels are 18-11 and lead the Astros by just a half game. The Angels had not allowed a run their previous two games before surrendering seven to the Nats on Saturday. Patrick Sandoval will get the start for the Angels today. Sandoval is 1-1 in his four starts with a 1.29 ERA and 1.143 WHIP. I look for the Angels to take the rubber game here today. In fact, I like Sandoval a lot in this one. I'll lay the Run Line with the Angels. |
05-08-22 | A's v. Twins -1.5 | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 51 m | Show
The Oakland A's have dropped to 10-17 following this current eight game losing streak. They have lost both games to the Twins, 1-2 and 0-1 as they play the rubber game here on Sunday. The A's have scored a total of one run in their their last three games. Daulton Jefferies starts today for the A's with a 1-4 record and 4.81 ERA. He is coming off two bad starts where he's allowed 11 runs over nine innings of work. The AL Central leading twins look for their third win in a row here today. Chris Paddack is 1-2 as he takes to the hill for his fifth start of the season. Paddack has a 3.15 ERA and 1.100 WHIP. He's also allowed just two earned runs over his last 11 innings with nine KO's and just walks. I'll lay the Run Line here today with the Twins. |
05-07-22 | A's v. Twins -1.5 | Top | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 4 m | Show |
The Oakland A's looking to snap out of this seven game losing skid they are currently having. The A's have seen their record drop to 10-16 with this losing streak. James Kaprielian starts today for the A's having one game under his belt this season. He went two innings and allowed three runs and four hits. The Twins snapped their two game losing streak with a win over the A's on Friday, 2-1. Sonny Gray will toe the rubber here today with a 0-1 record and 5.68 ERA in his two starts. I expect a lot more out of Gray as the season progresses and it starts here tonight. I'll lay the Run Line with the Twins. |
05-05-22 | Reds v. Brewers -1.5 | 5-10 | Win | 100 | 11 h 5 m | Show
What's the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, playing against the Reds is becoming commonplace this year as they are the worse team in baseball after a trouncing at the hands of the Brewers on Wednesday, 4-18. And, that despite leading 2-0. The Reds are now 3-21 record and have lost eight straight games. In fact, 18 of their losses this year have been by two or more runs. Hunter Greene starts early here on Thursday and is 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA and 1.612 WHIP. The NL Central first place Brewers have won seven of their last eight games. Adrian Houser starts for the Brewers with a 2-2 record after four states. Houser has a 2.53 ERA and 1.172 WHIP. In his two home starts, Houser is 1-1 with a 0.77 ERA. I'm sticking with what keeps working. Take Milwaukee on the Run Line. |
05-04-22 | Reds v. Brewers -1.5 | 4-18 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show
The Cincinnati Reds continue to prove why they are the worst team in baseball with a 3-20 record and losing seven straight games. The Reds lost again on Tuesday in their opening game with the Brewers, 3-6. In fact, 17 of their losses this year have been by two or more runs. Vladimir Gutierrez looks for his first win in four starts. He has a 0-4 record and 7.41 ERA with a 1.941 WHIP. The NL Central first place Brewers have won six of their last seven games. Freddy Peralta will start today with a 0-1 record and 5.00 ERA. Peralta coming of his best start of the Year, a six inning outing vs the Pirates where he allowed just three hits and no runs with no walks and seven KO's. I'm sticking with what keeps working. Take Milwaukee on the Run Line. |
05-03-22 | Reds v. Brewers -1.5 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 15 h 24 m | Show |
The Cincinnati Reds have been stuck on 3 wins for the season for the last six loss in a row. The Reds just cannot seem to get out of the doghouse after losing to Colorado on Sunday, 1-10. The Reds have allowed seven runs or more in five of their last six games. Tyler Mahle will get the start today. Mahle has one of the three Reds wins on the season as he sits at 1-3 overall with a 4.24 ERA. The Milwaukee Brewers are 15-8 overall and in 1st place in the NL Central. The Brewers had their five game win streak snapped on Sunday by the Cubs, 0-2. This pitching staff has allowed two runs or fewer in five straight games. Brandon Woodruff starts today with a 2-1 record, 5.30 ERA and 1.339 WHIP. However, in his two home starts he has a 2-0 record and 0.00 ERA and 0.636 WHIP. I'll lay the Run line today with the Brewers. |

05-01-22 | Padres -1.5 v. Pirates | 5-2 | Win | 105 | 4 h 43 m | Show
The San Diego Padres dropped to 14-8 after losing their Extra Inning game on Saturday to the Pirates, 6-7. The Padres have now scored at least six runs in each of their last five games (all going over). Joe Musgrove will take to the hill today with a 3-0 record after four starts. Musgrove also has a nifty 2.16 ERA and 0.880 WHIP. The Pirates improved to 9-12 with their win last night. That win snapped a four game losing streak for the Bucs. They send Mitch Keller to the hill today. Keller is 0-3 in his four starts with a 6.62 ERA and 1.641 WHIP. In his two starts at home he is 0-2 with a 8.63 ERA. I'm going to lay the Run Line here today with the Padres and a very good Musgrove on the hill. |

04-30-22 | Yankees -1.5 v. Royals | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 7 h 59 m | Show
The NY Yankees have taken over first place in the AL East thanks to a seven game win streak. The Yankees beat the Royals in game one of their series, 12-2. The Bronx Bombers have been hitting the cover off the ball in recent games, outscoring their opposition 49-19 over their last five games. Gerrit Cole gets the start today with a 1-0 record in his four starts. He has a 4.00 ERA and 1.166 WHIP. Cole coming off his best start of the season against Cleveland, pitching 6 2/3 innings and allowing four hits and no runs. The Royals dropped to 7-11 with last night's loss to the Yankees. That makes them 2-6 over their last eight games. Carlos Hernandez starts today with no record over his three starts. He also has a 6.43 ERA and 1.787 WHIP. The way the Yanks are hitting the ball and with a suspect pitcher on the hill for the Royals, I'll lay the Run Line with the Yankees. |

04-30-22 | Nationals v. Giants -1.5 | 3-9 | Win | 100 | 4 h 53 m | Show
The Nationals pulled a huge shock on Friday by scoring 14 runs against one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, the Giants. That was not only a season high in runs for the Nats, but more runs then their last seven games combined. Joan Adon gets the start for the Nats today with a 1-3 record in four starts. Adon has a 6.98 ERA and 1.655 WHIP. He has one start vs the Giants and went four innings, allowing six hits and five runs to absorb the loss. The Giants fell a half game back of the Padres in the NL West with last night's loss. The 14 runs allowed by the Giants were more than they have allowed combined in their last six games. Logan Webb starts today with a 2-1 record and 2.96 ERA. I look for the Giants to rebound big time here today vs the Nats. I'll lay the Run Line with San Francisco. |
04-29-22 | Nationals v. Giants -1.5 | 14-4 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 1 m | Show
The Washington Nationals look to snap a 8-game losing streak as they head West to begin a West Coast swing that could get ugly with the Giants up first. The offense has been horrible, scoring three runs or fewer in nine straight games. Don't expect it to get any easier tonight against one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. Aaron Sanchez will toe the rubber for the Nats. Sanchez has one start and it wasn't pretty, just 4 1/3 innings, six hits and four runs against these Giants in a 2-5 loss. The Giants are just a half game back of the Padres in the very good NL West with a 13-6 record. The Giants lost a tough one last night their Bay City Rivals, Oakland, 0-1. That snapped a five-game winning streak for the Giants. Alex Wood goes today with a 2-0 record in his three starts. Wood has a nifty 2.51 ERA with a 1.186 WHIP and has 16 KO's against just four walks. I'll lay the RUN LINE here tonight with the Giants. |
04-29-22 | Yankees -1.5 v. Royals | 12-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 55 m | Show
The NY Yankees have got hot, winning six straight games to pull within a half game of AL East leader Toronto at 13-6. The Yankees have been hitting well too, scoring 37 runs over their four games while allowing 16. Nestor Cortes starts for the Yanks and has no record after three starts. However, he could easily be 3-0 with his 1.15 ERA and 0.639 WHIP. Cortes allowed his first runs of the season his last game, a 6 1/3 effort vs the Guardians, allowing 1 hit and two runs, 8 KO's and two walks. In fact, he now has 25 KO's and just two walks. The Royals improved to 7-10 with their win on Thursday over the White Sox, 5-2. Still, they have lost five of their last seven games. Kris Bubic will start today with a 0-1 record in three starts. He has last more than two innings just one time and has a 14.14 ERA and 3.000 WHIP. The Yankees with Cortes should walk away with this one. I'll lay the RUN LINE with the Yankees. |
04-27-22 | Padres -1.5 v. Reds | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 54 m | Show
The San Diego Padres improved to 11-7 with their win over the Reds on Tuesday, 9-6. The Padres need to take advantage of these types of games since they play in the tough NL West division. Mackenzie Gore will start today for the Padres. Gore is 1-0 in his two starts with a 1.74 ERA and 1.065 WHIP. Gore has 10 KO's and four walks. The Reds have just three wins and have lost 12 of their last 13 games. In fact, had you laid the Run Line against them in their last 12 losses you would have won ALL 12 of those games. Vladimir Gutierrez starts today with an 0-3 record in his three starts, a 5.54 ERA and 1.692 WHIP. Walks have been an issue with nine free passes against just nine KO's. I'll lay the run line with the Padres and stick to the plan. |
04-26-22 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 29 m | Show
The Boston Red Sox have struggled to a 7-10 mark thus far on the season. The Sox have lost three straight and five of their last six games after dropping game one of this series with the Blue Jays last night, 2-6. Moreover, this Red Sox team is having issues scoring runs as they have scored three runs or fewer in seven of their last eight games. Nick Pavetta will start today as he looks for his first win after an 0-3 start to the season. Pivetta has had it rough, allowing 13 runs over 11 2/3 innings (10.03 ERA) and having nine walks and 10 KO's on the year. Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays are in 1st in the NL East with a 11-6 record after beating Boston last night. The Jays have won five of their last six games. Kevin Gausman is 1-1 after three starts for the Jays with a 2.89 ERA and 1.125 WHIP. He has not allowed a walk yet this year against his 22 KO's. Gausman should have little trouble against the offensively struggling Sox team tonight. I'll lay the Run Line with the Blue Jays. |

04-26-22 | Padres -1.5 v. Reds | 9-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 1 m | Show
It's a dog fight in the best MLB division in baseball, the NL West. The Padres expect to be in the thick of it too as they sit 10-7 overall right now and in fourth place. The Padres are coming off a loss on Sunday to the Dodgers, 2-10, losing two of the three games to LA. Now they get to feast on what has been the worst team in baseball, the Reds. Joe Musgrove will get the start today as he's 2-0 after three starts with a nice 1.89 ERA and 0.737 WHIP. Musgrove has 21 KO's and just one walk on the season. The Reds finally snapped a 11-game losing streak on Sunday with their win over the Cardinals, 4-1. It was also the most runs the Cardinals have scored since tehy got five runs against the Guardians back on April 12th. River Sanmartin has struggled in his two starts this year, going 8 total innings and allowing 12 hits and 10 runs for a 11.75 ERA and 2.350 WHIP. He also has as many walks on the year as KO's (6). The Reds look to have a long season and it won't get any easier against Musgrove tonight. Play the Padres on the Run Line. |
04-24-22 | Giants -1.5 v. Nationals | 12-3 | Win | 100 | 3 h 5 m | Show
Three teams in the NL West now have 10 wins and the Giants are one of them as they trail the Dodgers by just a half game in the division. It's going to be a dog fight between the top three all season. The Giants have won two straight games after taking the first two in this series with Washington. They have outscored the Nationals, 12-3 with their outstanding pitching putting the cuffs on the Nats. No relief in this staff either as Logan Webb takes to the rubber today. Webb is 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA and 1.075 WHIP in his three starts. Washington has dropped to 6-11 after losing four straight games. Joan Adon will look to snap that losing streak. Adon is 1-2 with a 5.87 ERA after three starts. Adon doesn't have the best control either with nine walks in three games. Can't go against this Giants staff with a poor Nats team. I'll lay the run line today with the Giants. |
04-23-22 | Giants -1.5 v. Nationals | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 35 m | Show
The San Francisco Giants opened this 3-game set at Washington with a convincing win on Friday, 7-1. The Giants improved to 9-5 overall and 2nd place in the NL West. Alex Wood gets the start for the Giants and has pitched excellent after two starts. Wood has a 1-0 record with a 1.93 ERA, allowing nine hits over 9 1/3 innings with three walks and 11 KO's. The Nationals are 6-10 on the season and have now droped three straight games. During this losing streak they have scored a total of six runs and allowed 22 runs. The Nationals will start Aaron Sanchez today who just recently joined the team. Sanchez has three Triple-A starts with a 3.60 ERA and 1.48 WHIP. Don't really think it matters who the Nats start, the Giants have too many excellent pitchers. Lay the Run Line with the Giants. |
04-19-22 | Reds v. Padres -1.5 | 2-6 | Win | 111 | 9 h 20 m | Show
The San Diego Padres opened their three game set with the Reds with a 4-1 win on Monday. The Padres were one of my Run Line Rout plays on Monday and they didn't disappoint. The Padres have now held their last two opponents to two total runs. They have also gone under in four straight games and nine of their 12 games this season. Doesn't look to get any easier tonight for the Reds as they face Joe Musgrove. Musgrove is 1-0 after two starts with a 1.42 ERA and 0.710 WHIP. He's allowed just nine hits and two runs over his 12 2/3 innings with 14 KO's and no walks. The Reds are in free fall right now, having lost seven straight games and nine of their last 10. They have scored two runs or fewer in four straight games and three runs or fewer in six straight games. Reiver Sanmartin will start tonight and he looks to improve after a horrendous initial start. Sanmartin went just 2 1/3 inning vs the Braves, allowing four hits and five runs in the loss. I'm looking at a San Diego blowout here tonight. |
04-18-22 | Braves v. Dodgers -1.5 | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show
The World Champion Atlanta Braves come to LA tonight to face the Dodgers and will also face their former All-Star 1B Freedie Freeman who now anchors the 1B bag for LA. The Braves will also bring former LA closer Jansen back to LA for the first time since being dealt to Atlanta. The Braves are just 5-6 overall and split their four game series to open this West Coast swing with the Padres. After giving up 12 runs to the Padres in the first game, they held San Diego to just six total runs the next three games. Huascar Ynoa will start here today. Ynoa went just three innings in his first start against the Nationals, allowing seven hits and five runs to take the Loss. The Dodgers are 7-2 and heavy favorites to win the World Series this year. And if former Ace Clayton Kershaw pitches like he did in his opener, those odds may go up. Kershaw left the game after seven innings with a perfect game. Some thought he should have come back out, but Dave Roberts didn't want to strain a pitcher who has had a lot of injury issues over the last years. LA looks tough and we'll see if Kershaw is near as perfect as he was in his first start. I'll lay the Run Line with the Dodgers tonight. |
04-18-22 | Reds v. Padres -1.5 | 1-4 | Win | 120 | 9 h 7 m | Show
The Cincinnati Reds look to snap out of a bad losing streak as they have dropped six straight games to be 2-8 on the season. Problem is it won't get much better at the Padres tonight. Nick Lodolo will try to put a stop to the losing streak. He went four innings in his first start against Cleveland, allowing seven hits and five runs to collar the loss. The Padres should be salivating at the sight of the Reds coming to town. San Diego is 6-5 on the season but their last seven games have come against the Braves and Giants where they went 3-4. Sean Manaea will start his third game of the season. Manaea is 1-1 with a 1.38 ERA and 0.538 WHIP. He's allowed just two runs over 13 innings with 13 KO's and just three walks. I'll lay the Run Line here tonight with the Padres who should win this one in a Rout! |
