01-25-18 | Pacific +6 v. San Francisco | 67-69 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
West Coast action has Pacific (10-11 S/U, 10-8 ATS)playing at San Francisco (11-10 S/U, 6-10 ATS). Pacific has done well in conference play, going 5-3 S/U and 6-1-1 ATS. San Francisco is coming off a home win over Pepperdine, 80-73. The win snapped a three game losing streak. SF is only 1-3 ATS their last three and 4-7 ATS their last 11. San Fran is a 5.5 point favorite here tonight. A bit high by my numbers, which has SF just 3 overall and a dog in recent form. I like the points here tonight. Take Pacific. |
01-25-18 | South Florida v. Tulane -13 | 80-75 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 27 m | Show
American Athletic play tonight has South Florida (7-13 S/U, 4-12 ATS) playing at Tulane (12-7 S/U, 7-7 ATS). South Florida having a horrible season. The Bulls have lost seven straight games, all conference contests. In addition, they have covered just one time in their last eight games. Tonight they play at Tulane, a team also hungry for wins. Tulane is just 3-4 in conference play, but has covered its last two games. Kind of surprised the line has dropped to 13 in this game. My number has Tulane a 17.5 point favorite. I'm laying the points with the home team today. Play Tulane. |
01-25-18 | Southern Utah v. Montana -17.5 | Top | 47-71 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
Big Sky conference play has Southern Utah (8-10 S/U, 10-6 ATS) playing at Montana (14-5 S/U, 13-4 ATS). Southern Utah has had a rough time in conference play, going 2-5 S/U and ATS. In fact, Southern has covered just two of its last eight games. They have to now play at a very good Montana club. The Grizzlies are perfect in conference play with a 7-0 record both S/U and against the spread. In fact, Montana has covered it's last 12 games. That's amazing considering that the oddsmaker usually corrects for those streaks. Montana is a team that can blow out this Southern Utah club very easily and that's just what I look for tonight. Play Montana. |
01-25-18 | Eastern Illinois v. Belmont -14 | 59-81 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
Ohio Valley play tonight has Eastern Illinois (7-12 S/U, 5-12 ATS) playing at Belmont (15-6 S/U, 13-5 ATS). EIU has won just one game in its last four and is 3-5 overall in conference play. The club has had trouble covering spreads too, going just 3-9 ATS their last 12 games. Meanwhile, Belmont having an excellent season with four straight wins and a 10-1 record their last 11. The team is also 7-1 S/U in conference and has covered five of the last six games. Big number here for the home team to cover, but I my numbers show they can do it. Play Belmont. |
01-24-18 | Celtics v. Clippers -1 | 113-102 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 15 m | Show
Boston Playing in the second of a back-to-back spot here after losing to the Lakers last night, 107-108. Boston led at the half, but was outscored 21-31 in the third quarter and could quite get there in the fourth. The Celtics haven't done all that well in the spot, going just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 of the 2nd of a back-to-back spot. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 16-6-1 ATS their last 23 games and 9-4 ATS their last 13 home games. LA has covered four of the last five meetings and I look for another Clippers cover tonight against a fatigued Celtics squad. |
01-24-18 | Air Force +9 v. Utah State | 49-71 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 21 m | Show
Mountain West play tonight has Air Force (8-10 S/U, 8-4 ATS) playing at Utah State (10-11 S/U, 8-10 ATS). Air Force opened conference play with four straight losses, but have rebounded with two wins on the road at San Jose and at Colorado. The Falcons have been very good vs the number, covering their last five games. Utah State looks to snap their four game losing streak tonight. They are coming off a home loss to Wyoming, 77-85. In addition, the Aggies have covered just one of their last four games. My recent form number actually has Air Force the favorite here and with a 9-point line on Utah State, I like Air Force here to cover. |
01-24-18 | Auburn v. Missouri UNDER 146.5 | 91-73 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 21 m | Show
SEC action tonight has Auburn (17-2 S/U, 12-5 ATS) playing at Missouri (13-6 S/U, 10-8 ATS). I am using the total in this contest as my SEC Total of the Year. Auburn has been a really good play of late, going 0-5 O/U their last five. Missouri has also seen their last four games go under the total. The Tigers haven't been scoring many points with 49 in their last game at Texas A&M and 59 the previous game vs Tennessee. Missouri is 4-10 O/U in their last 14 games and 9-22 O/U the last 31 games following an ATS loss. I like this one under a lot tonight. Play UNDER |
01-24-18 | Spurs v. Grizzlies -1 | Top | 108-85 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 45 m | Show |
Spurs played a big game last night as they hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Spurs trailed early but pulled away and never looked back in a 114-102 win. That's the good news. I had the Spurs last night, but tonight I expect a letdown spot. The Spurs are ripe for a road loss. First, they are playing the 2nd of a back-to-back spot - that's never easy. Next, they will be off that big win last night. The Spurs are just 1-6 ATS in the 2nd game of a back-to-back spot this year. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies have covered their last five games and are also 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven home games. The home team has a 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meeting and I like this spot for the Grizzlies. |
01-24-18 | Nebraska v. Rutgers UNDER 127.5 | 60-54 | Win | 100 | 6 h 21 m | Show
Big 10 action tonight has Nebraska (14-8 S/U, 13-6 ATS) playing at Rutgers (12-9 S/U, 8-5 ATS). I'm looking at the under in this contest. The Huskers have been a very good under play with their lat three games going UNDER and six of their last seven going UNDER. In fact, of their seven conference games, six have gone under. Rutgers has had trouble scoring points, with just 48 in their last game vs Michigan. In fact, two of their last three games the Scarlet Knights have scored in the 40's. The defense isn't bad, allowing under 70 in five of their last six (one game in OT). I like tonight's game to go UNDER. |
01-24-18 | Mercer v. East Tennessee State -9 | 75-84 | Push | 0 | 6 h 20 m | Show
We move to the Southern Conference tonight for our Wise Guy Hi-Roller play. Mercer is 10-10 S/U on the season, but just 4-10 ATS. Mercer has played a lot of road games and that's resulted in a 3-8 ATS mark. The team is 3-4 in conference play (1-5-1 ATS). East Tennessee State has been very good, posting a 16-4 overall mark and a 13-3 spread record. ETS is a perfect 7-0 S/U in conference and 6-1 ATS. In fact the team has now run their win streak to 10 games. They have done great against the spread, covering 12 of their last 13. The line has dropped to nine on ETS here tonight, but my recent for number has them at 13. I like the home squad a lot here tonight. Play East Tennessee State. |
01-23-18 | Celtics v. Lakers +4.5 | 107-108 | Win | 100 | 21 h 40 m | Show
Second half of the TNT doubleheader has the Celtics laying points here at LA Lakers tonight. The Celtics had a great start to the season, however they have fallen on hard times of late. The Celtics have lost three straight games, all at home. The Celtics have covered the last two in this series with the Lakers. However, they are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10. Boston has been a little too erratic for my tastes lately. I can easily see them losing this game straight up tonight. Play the Lakers. |
01-23-18 | Texas A&M -1.5 v. LSU | 65-77 | Loss | -113 | 8 h 59 m | Show
SEC play tonight finds Texas A&M (13-6 S/U, 7-9 ATS) playing at LSU (11-7 S/U, 7-6 ATS). A&M started conference play horribly, losing its first five games. However, the Aggies have bounced back with two straight wins. LSU has been more the opposite, starting 2-1 in conference and since then losing three straight both S/U and ATS. The Tigers are coming off a road loss to Vandy, 71-77. They also lost back-to-back home games to Alabama and Georgia (both as the favorite). The Aggies have had recent luck playing LSU, covering six of the last eight meetings. I'm taking Texas A&M here tonight. |
01-23-18 | Cavs v. Spurs -1 | 102-114 | Win | 100 | 18 h 10 m | Show
There was some concern that the Cavs wouldn't have Forward Kevin Love tonight since he has been battling an illness. However, he has been upgraded to probable tonight. It will remain to be seen how much stamina he has after the illness though. The Cavaliers are one of the worst spread teams this year. They are just 15-37-1 ATS in their lat 53 games. They are 1-10 ATS in their last 10 road games. Those two figures are bad enough, but there are many others too. The Cavs have covered just five of the last 16 in this series with the Spurs. San Antonio is 15-5-2 in their last 22 games with 1 day rest and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Spread record aside, they Cavs have won just one of their last six games. Short line here favors the Spurs and despite the Cavs having the talent, they just have shown they can put it all together yet this season. Play the Spurs. |
01-23-18 | Missouri State v. Bradley -1 | 52-72 | Win | 100 | 7 h 0 m | Show
Missouri Valley showdown here as Missouri State takes on Bradley. I'm looking at the under here tonight between these clubs. Missouri State has been playing solid defense, allowing just two of their last nine opponents to score more than 64 points. Of those nine, five of those scored in the 50's and Mo State was 1-8 O/U. Bradley has not been a big scoring team, 8th in the conference among 10 teams. Bradley has been a great under team, evidenced by their 4-17 O/U record their last 21 games and 3-8 O/U record their last 11 home games. I like this game to go UNDER tonight. |
01-23-18 | Missouri State v. Bradley UNDER 127 | 52-72 | Win | 100 | 7 h 60 m | Show
The Missouri State Bears (15-6 S/U, 8-9 ATS) take on Bradley (14-7 S/U, 10-7 ATS) tonight. The Bears have lost three of their last five conference games including last time out at Drake, 58-61. More worrisome is their 0-5 ATS record their last five games. Bradley has been one of those teams that plays well on its home court, but not good away. The Braves are 0-4 in conference on the road and 4-0 in conference at home this season. They are 3-0-1 ATS at home in those wins and 0-4 ATS on the road. In fact, the Braves have not lost to number on their home court this year, going 6-0-2 ATS. I'm taking Bradley here, strictly based on their being home. |
01-23-18 | Clemson v. Virginia -9.5 | 36-61 | Win | 100 | 6 h 0 m | Show
My top play this year in the ACC goes tonight as Clemson (16-3 S/U, 10-6 ATS) takes on Virginia (18-1 O/U, 12-4 ATS). Both these teams having excellent seasons. Clemson started conference play with three wins, but has gone just 2-2 since. The Tigers record not so good vs the number, covering just two of their last six games and 3-5 overall on the road. Virginia has lost just one game this season, that coming at West Virginia back in early December. Since that loss, the Cavs have gone 10-0 including a perfect 7-0 in ACC play. The Cavs have also covered five of their last six games. I like the Cavaliers a lot here tonight. This team is at home where they have had little problems and Clemson has struggled recently in conference. Play Virginia. |
01-22-18 | Blazers v. Nuggets -3 | 101-104 | Push | 0 | 20 h 53 m | Show
Both of these clubs are very close this year in the standings and with records. The Portland Trailblazers are 25-21 on the season, 12-11 on the road and 21-21-4 ATS overall. The Denver Nuggets are 23-23 on the year, 20-24-2 ATS and 16-6 at home. It's this last record that really hits me, that 16-6 on the Nuggets home court. Partially this could be due to the high altitude and teams just spending one day in Denver. It's almost impossible to acclimate to the high altitude in just one day. If we look at Denver at home we see they average 109 ppg, compared to their 106 overall on the season. They also allow 102.5 ppg on their home court compared to 105.7 ppg overall. The Blazers are just 1-4 ATS in their last four games. The favorite has covered the last four in this series and that would be Denver here tonight. Play the Nuggets on Monday. |
01-22-18 | Kansas State +5.5 v. Baylor | 90-83 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Big 12 action tonight has Kansas State (14-5 S/U, 7-9 ATS) at Baylor (12-7 S/U, 7-5 ATS). The Wildcats are just 3-3 in conference play, though they have won two straight with wins over TCU and Oklahoma. In addition, they have covered four straight games. The Bears have struggled, losing three of their last four in conference and winning just two of seven. Oddsmaker has installed the Bears as 5 point favorites here and it's up to 5.5. My number has them at three, but my recent numbers favor Kansas State. In addition, the road team has covered the last five in this series. Play Kansas State tonight. |
01-22-18 | Bulls +6.5 v. Pelicans | 128-132 | Win | 100 | 19 h 53 m | Show
The Chicago Bulls have been excellent to bettors of late, going 20-6-1 ATS their last 27 games overall. They are also 10-2 ATS their last 12 road games and 13-3 ATS when having one day of rest. The Pelicans haven't been quite as good, covering just one of their last five home games and going 0-4 ATS at home vs their last four losing teams. The Bulls have been excellent against the Pelicans, going 12-3-1 ATS their last 16 at New Orleans. The road team has gone 23-9-1 ATS their last 33 meetings. Take Chicago here on Monday. |
01-22-18 | North Carolina v. Virginia Tech +4 | 69-80 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show
ACC conference play tonight has North Carolina (16-4 S/U, 11-7 ATS) playing at Virginia Tech (13-6 S/U, 8-7 ATS). The Tar Heels opened conference play losing two of their first three games, but have won four straight since then. They have covered just four of their nine road games though. Virginia Tech is just 2-4 in conference play. The Tar Heels have won seven straight in this series, but have covered just twice. Last season, NCU won this game 75-70, but failed to cover the double-digit line. The Hokies have done well at home, going 24-10-1 ATS in their last 35. I look for Tech to give North Carolina all it can handle here tonight on its home court. |
01-21-18 | Nets +6 v. Pistons | 101-100 | Win | 100 | 7 h 37 m | Show
The Detroit Pistons have been a very good team on Sundays, going 9-3 ATS. Usually I don't look at team performances on certain days, but sometimes they make sense and sometimes it's just coincidence. I believe the latter here today. The Pistons have lost four straight and are 1-3 ATS their last four. Nets are about the same, winning just one of their last three and going 3-2 ATS their last five. The Nets usually in the role of a dog, something they do well. The Nets are 15-10 ATS their last 15 games as a dog of 1 to 7.5 points. The Nets are also 14-7 ATS in their 21 road games. Surprisingly, the Pistons are just 3-6 ATS at home vs losing teams. Dog is the play here and that's Brooklyn. |
01-20-18 | Gonzaga -21 v. Santa Clara | 75-60 | Loss | -105 | 18 h 42 m | Show
Bailout Blowout Game of the Week: Lots of teams pad their non-conference schedule with puffcakes to get those wins. Not this Gonzaga team. The Bulldogs played one of the more ambitious non-conference schedules in the county. That makes them doubly tough as they enter conference play. The Zags were a perfect 6-0 in West Coast play until they lost last time out at home to their rivals, St Marys, 71-74. Meanwhile, Santa Clara had a big upset win at San Francisco last game, 65-62. The win improved the club to 4-2 in conference play, though the cover was just their third in their last 11 games. Santa Clara showed some spunk in that road win, however they will face an upset Gonzaga team looking to atone for their home loss last game. Take Gonzaga here in a Bailout Blowout win. |
01-20-18 | Wright State -3 v. Wisc-Milwaukee | Top | 61-66 | Loss | -108 | 18 h 42 m | Show |
Horizon League Game of the year: Wright State has been red-hot, winning eight straight games and going a perfect 7-0 in conference play. In addition, Wright has covered four of its last five games and is 9-4 ATS on the road this season. Wisconsin Milwaukee will try and snap a four-game losing streak today. The club has also been horrible against the number, going 0-4 ATS their last four and 2-11 ATS their last 13. Two of my numbers have Wright a huge favorite here, we're talking 17 points and 13 points. The oddsmaker has Wright just three points and that means a huge difference in my favor. This is a big play for me today on Wright State. |
01-20-18 | UNLV v. Colorado State +3.5 | 79-74 | Loss | -109 | 15 h 52 m | Show
I think there is great disappointment in Vegas about this UNLV team. 2nd year HC Menzies had that initial year out of the way and brought in some of the best recruits in the country. Their top recruit for this year is Brandon McCoy a 6-foot-11 forward from San Diego. McCoy hasn't disappointed though as he has really shined in his freshman year. Still, after a promising 11-2 start to the season the club has gone just 2-3 since losing its last three home games. In fact, UNLV is 0-8 ATS their last eight games. Colorado State is 2-3 ATS in the Mountain west conference. The Rams have covered four of their last six games though. CSU always seems to give UNLV fits on their home court. I'll take the points here with CSU in what could easily be another straight up win against the Rebels. Play Colorado State. |
01-20-18 | LSU v. Vanderbilt | 71-77 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 40 m | Show
SEC action has LSU (11-6 S/U, 7-5 ATS) playing at Vanderbilt (6-12 S/U 1-13 ATS). LSU has lost two straight games in conference after winning two of three. The Tigers look to bounce back here against one of the worst teams in the conference. Vandy is 1-5 in conference both S/U and ATS. There aren't many teams that have this bad of a spread record as the Commodores have just one cover on the entire season against 13 losses. Moreover, that one cover came on the road. At home they are 0-8 ATS. My numbers are the deciding factors for me and all my number point to LSU anywhere from a 3-point favorite up to a 17 point favorite. That's a large swing, but that shows just how bad this Vanderbilt team is. I'm taking LSU and rating them my Inner Circle play on Saturday. |
01-20-18 | Ohio State -9 v. Minnesota | 67-49 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Big 10 action today has Ohio State (16-4 S/U, 10-7 ATS) playing Minnesota (14-7 S/U, 8-11 ATS) at Madison Square Garden. The Buckeys look like one of the teams to beat in the Big 10. They are 5-0 both S/U and ATS in conference play and have won 11 of their last 13 games. The Gophers have struggled in conference play, going just 2-4 so far. In addition, they have covered just 1 of their last five games and 3 of their last 12 overall. When I look at my own power ratings and thus my own lines, this is one of the biggest differentials of the day. Ohio State's recent form has them over 20 point favorite by my recent form numbers. I can't ignore my own numbers, especially in recent form. I'm taking Ohio State here from Madison Square Garden. |
01-19-18 | Spurs v. Raptors -5 | 83-86 | Loss | -115 | 16 h 30 m | Show
Spurs are going to be shorthanded here on Friday as guard Manu Ginobili (9.1 ppg) has been downgraded to out and the team is without forward Kawhi Leonard (16.2 ppg). This is a Spurs team that barely averages over 100 ppg as it was. The Spurs defense is good, allowing just 98.2 ppg. The Raptors have been a high scoring team, averaging 114.5 ppg. I don't see how the Spurs will keep up with the Raptors tonight as they are shorthanded. The home team has covered six of the last eight in this meeting. This is the perfect situation for the Raptors to run the Spurs off the court. Take the Raptors here on Friday. |
01-18-18 | UCLA v. Oregon State +1 | 63-69 | Win | 100 | 10 h 17 m | Show
More PAC-12 action finds UCLA (13-2 S/U, 8-10 ATS) playing at Oregon State (10-7 S/U, 7-10 ATS). UCLA is 4-2 in conference play, coming off a loss at home to Colorado, 59-68. The Bruins have split their road games against the number, going 3-3 ATS. Oregon State is 2-3 in conference play, coming off a pair of losses at Arizona State and Arizona. A very competitive PAC-12 means looking for those spots where we can grab a win. Surprisingly, the two recent road losses were Oregon State's two of three true road games this season. Oregon State has covered three straight games and four of the last five. UCLA is an opponent that Oregon State can handle and I look for a Beavers' cover tonight. Play Oregon State. |
01-18-18 | Pacers v. Blazers -3.5 | 86-100 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show
Your free play for Thursday, January 18, 2018 is in the NBA scheduled contest between the Indiana Pacers and the Portland Trailblazers. Indiana Pacers are 24-20 on the season and 6th in the East. The Pacers have won three straight games and are 9th int he NBA in scoring. The Pacers are 4-15 ATS in their last 19 Thursday games. Portland is 8th in the West with a 23-21 record. The Blazers have won one game in a row and are 5-5 in their last 10. Portland is 20th in the NBA in scoring (104 ppg). Portland is 5-1 ATS their last six against the Pacers and 4-1 ATS the five in Portland. These teams pretty evenly matched, but I'm taking the Blazers here on Thursday. |
01-18-18 | Washington v. Utah -7 | 62-70 | Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show
PAC 12 Action tonight has Washington (12-5 S/U, 7-9 ATS) playing at Utah (10-7 S/U, 7-8 ATS). Washington is 3-2 in conference play, coming off a loss at home to Stanford, 64-73. The Huskies had a long stretch this year where they didn't cover, going 1-7 over eight games. Lately they are 3-2 ATS. Utah started conference play with a pair of wins, however since they they are 0-4 both S/U and ATS. It's been tough though, playing against both Arizona and Arizona State, then losing on the road to UCLA and USC. Even with their recent losses, this is the kind of game the Utes can win, on their home court against mediocre PAC-12 opponent. Play Utah. |
01-18-18 | Washington State v. Colorado -8 | 73-82 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show
Big PAC-12 game here tonight as Washington State (9-8 S/U, 9-7 ATS) plays at Colorado (11-7 S/U, 8-9 ATS). Washington State got its first win in conference play last game out, beat Cal, 78-52. That makes the Huskies 1-4 S/U both ATS their last five games. Colorado lost both its opening games of conference play, but is 3-1 since. The Buffaloes have wins at home over Arizona State 90-81 and over Arizona, 80-77. The Buffs have covered three of their last four games. Colorado laying seven tonight, with my recent form having the Buffs as 17 point favorites. I like Colorado at home tonight in a big win. |
01-17-18 | CS-Fullerton +5.5 v. UC-Santa Barbara | 64-83 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 31 m | Show
Two of the better Big West teams matchup tonight in Santa Barbara. Cal Fullerton (11-5 S/U, 9-3 ATS) has won four straight game and is perfect in conference play. In addition, they have been really good to bettors, covering three straight and seven of their last eight games. Santa Barbara has struggled in conference play, going just 1-2 S/U in conference play. Santa Barbara is a 5.5 point home favorite here. My recent form number has Fullerton about a 2-point favorite here tonight. I'm taking Fullerton. |
01-17-18 | Air Force v. Colorado State -7.5 | 76-71 | Loss | -106 | 9 h 31 m | Show
Mountain West play tonight has Air Force (7-10 S/U, 7-4 ATS) playing against their intra-city rivals, Colorado State (10-9 S/U, 6-9 ATS). Not a lot of home court favor here as both teams are from Colorado Springs. The Falcons finally won their first conference game last time out with a win over San Jose State, 78-71. That makes them 1-4 in conference play. Colorado State has won two straight games in conference after losing a pair. The Rams have also covered four of their last five games. Line here tonight has CSU at 8-points. My numbers have the Rams at about 10, but more recent form has them around 15. I'm taking Colorado State here tonight. |
01-17-18 | Dayton v. St. Joe's | 65-81 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 1 m | Show
Atlantic 10 conference play today has Dayton (9-8 S/U, 8-9 ATS) playing at St Joe's (7-9 S/U, 6-8 ATS). Dayton lost its opener in conference play and has since won three of four. The Flyers are off a big win over VCU, 106-79. They have also covered three of the last four games. St Joe's is 2-3 in conference play after losing two straight games. St Joe's is also just 2-3 AST in their last five games. This is game is basically a pick'em line, but my own numbers favor Dayton, especially in recent form where they really stand out. Take Dayton. |

01-16-18 | Drake +6.5 v. Northern Iowa | 54-68 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 43 m | Show
Missouri Valley Conference play here tonight has Drake (11-8 S/U, 10-5 ATS) playing at Northern Iowa (9-9 S/U, 5-8 ATS). Drake has won five of its six conference games thus far, with its only loss coming at Valparaiso. They have also covered five of those six games. Northern Iowa finally snapped its seven game losing streak with a home win over Valparaiso last time out. That win was also the team's first in conference play against five losses. My recent power numbers have Drake as a favorite, yet the oddsmakers have them as a 6.5 chalk. I'm taking Drake plus the points here tonight. |
01-16-18 | Pelicans v. Celtics -4.5 | 116-113 | Loss | -102 | 18 h 48 m | Show
The New Orleans Pelicans (22-20 S/U 22-19-1 ATS) travels to beantown today to play the Celtics (34-10 S/U, 27-15-2 ATS). The Pelicans have won two straight games and covered their last two. This after a three game and five of six losing streak to the spread. Meanwhile, the Celtics bring a seven game win streak into tonight's contest. Boston is also 3-1 ATS their last four and 5-2 ATS their last seven. Celtics playing very well and laying just 4.5 here tonight. I like the Celtics, so lay the number here with Boston. |
01-16-18 | Toledo +1.5 v. Ohio | 91-57 | Win | 100 | 6 h 44 m | Show
MAC Action tonight has Toledo (11-6 S/U, 7-7 ATS) playing at Ohio U (8-8 S/U, 4-5 ATS). Toledo is 3-1 in the MAC thus far with their lone loss at Buffalo, 94-104. The club has covered two straight games and four of the last six. Meanwhile, Ohio is 1-3 in conference play and 1-2-1 ATS. The Bobcats are a one-point favorite here tonight. My numbers have Toledo a nice sized favorite in recent play. My trendfactor number also has Toledo the favorite here. I'm taking the visitor in Toledo. |
01-16-18 | Cincinnati v. UCF +8 | 49-38 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 43 m | Show
American Athletic conference play here tonight has Cincinnati (15-2 S/U, 8-6 ATS) playing at Central Florida (12-5 S/U, 9-3 ATS). Cincy is a perfect 4-0 in conference play as they head to Florida today. Covering has been so-so, as they are just 3-2 ATS their last five. Central Florida is coming off a loss at U Conn, 53-62. It was the team's second loss in conference against three wins. UCF has been a very good covering team though, going 7-1 their last eight games. Tough to pass on the points here at home with a better than average Central club. I'm taking UCF here tonight. |
01-15-18 | Illinois v. Nebraska -4.5 | 63-64 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 28 m | Show
Big 10 action today has Illinois (10-8 S/U, 6-7 ATS) playing at Nebraska (12-7 S/U, 11-5 ATS). Illinois has struggled, losing three straight and their first three conference games. The Illini is coming off a home loss to Iowa, 97-104 in OT. Nebraska has lost two of its last three games, but covered all three. In fact, Nebraska has been a great covering team of late. The Huskers have covered four straight and are 7-0-1 ATS their last eight. Nebraska has been excellent at home, going 6-1 their last seven games. I like the host here today. Play Nebraska. |
01-15-18 | Warriors -5 v. Cavs | 118-108 | Win | 100 | 18 h 0 m | Show
Marquee matchup here on Monday as Golden State takes on Cleveland. The Cavs have really struggled against the number, going 6-22-1 ATS their last 29 plays at home and 16-34-1 ATS their last 51 overall. The Cavs have lost three straight games and four of their last five. In addition, they are 0-5 ATS their last five and 1-9 ATS their last 10. The Warriors have won two straight and eight of their last 10. The Warriors have also covered five of the last seven in this series. Cavs just can't seem to get it all together this season and tonight they will struggle against the defending champs. Take Golden State. |
01-15-18 | Minnesota v. Penn State -7.5 | 95-84 | Loss | -109 | 6 h 9 m | Show
A pair of 13-6 Big 10 clubs matchup here on Monday as Minnesota plays Penn State. Minnesota won its conference opener against Illinois. However, they have lost three straight Big 10 games since including a drubbing on their home court last game to Purdue, 47-81. Penn State is 2-2 in Big 10 play, winning its two home games and losing two on the road. They beat Northwestern and Nebraska at home. Penn State should have little trouble on its home court with Minnesota. Play Penn State. |
01-14-18 | Monmouth v. Canisius -3.5 | Top | 79-94 | Win | 100 | 4 h 2 m | Show |
Metro Atlantic Athletic Association matchup here today has 5-11 Monmouth playing at 10-8 Canisius. The home club has been perfect on their own floor, covering all six games this season. In addition, Canisius has a 6-1 record in their last seven games and is 4-1 in conference play. Can't say the same about the visitor who is just 1-3 in conference and 2-7 in their last nine games. More bad news for Monmouth is that they will be shorthanded today as guard Micah Seaborn (ankle) is doubtful. Seaborn has averaged 14.42 ppg this season and will be missed on a team that does not score a lot of points. I look for Canisius to win this one going away. I'm very surprised at seeing just a four-point line on Canisius playing a 5-11 club without it's starting guard. Play Canisius. |
01-14-18 | Rider +2 v. Iona | 64-91 | Loss | -105 | 3 h 3 m | Show
Metro Atlantic Athletic Association action today has Rider (11-6 S/U, 9-3 ATS) playing at Iona (10-7 S/U, 7-6 ATS). Rider brings a four-game win streak into today's contest. They are 4-1 in conference play with their lone loss coming at Canisius, 76-77. Since that loss, they have scored 99, 96, 82 and 78 points in their blowout wins. They have also done well covering, going 5-0-1 AST their las six games. Iona has a three game win streak (all home games). They are also 4-1 in conference play, also with their lone loss to Canisius, 78-85. However, unlike Rider, Iona has covered just one of its last four games. In looking at my recent trending lines, I have Rider with a nearly 10 points advantage over Iona. That's significant because it's indicative of their conference play. That being said, I'm taking Rider here today. |
01-13-18 | Gonzaga -13 v. San Francisco | 75-65 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 25 m | Show
Gonzaga (15-3 S/U, 9-5 ATS) has rolled through West Coast Conference play thus far, going a perfect 5-0 S/U and 4-0-1 ATS. The Bulldogs are have won every game convincingly, by 33, 49, 30, 19 and 46 points. Their tough non-conference schedule really toughened them up for their easy conference games. Next victim is San Francisco. The Dons are 10-8 S/U with a 5-8 spread record. They are just 2-3 in conference play and 3-5 ATS in their last eight games. Oddsmakers have the Zags 13, but that isn't nearly enough. Take Gonzaga in a big win. |
01-13-18 | Villanova -11 v. St. John's | 78-71 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Villanova having a great season at 15-1 S/U and 10-5 ATS. Their lone loss coming at Butler in their 2nd conference game, 93-101. The club has also failed to cover to just three times in their last 12 games. St Johns is off to a horrible start in the Big East, losing all five of its conference games. The Red Storm has also failed to cover their last two and four of the last six. Two teams going in very difference directions here. St Johns will remain winless in conference play as Villanova takes this one. |
01-13-18 | Western Kentucky -13.5 v. Charlotte | 73-63 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 44 m | Show
Western Kentucky having an excellent season at 12-5 overall and 11-4 ATS. WKU is also a 4-0 S/U and 3-1 ATS in conference play. They have covered six of their last eight games. Charlotte having a tough season with just five wins and 10 losses. They have also covered just three of 12 games. They are 1-3 in conference play and 1-3 ATS their last four games. I don't usually like laying double digits on the road, but I'll make an exception today as Western Kentucky rolls past Charlotte. |
01-13-18 | Towson v. William & Mary -3 | 99-73 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 53 m | Show
A pair of 12 win Colonial Athletic Association teams meet here today with Towson playing at William & Mary. Towson lost last game at home to Hofstra, 73-76. That loss made the club just 2-3 in conference play both S/U and ATS. William & Mary had to come from over 20 points down in their last game against James Madison to force an OT. They almost covered in OT too, winning 89-82 as nine-point favorites. The win kept William & Mary a perfect 5-0 in conference play and 4-1 ATS. Home team just three-point chalk and with their perfect conference record I look for them to win and cover here today. Play William & Mary. |
01-13-18 | Georgia State +1 v. Coastal Carolina | 72-58 | Win | 100 | 16 h 22 m | Show
Sun Belt conference play today has Georgia State (12-6 S/U, 8-6 ATS) playing at Coastal Carolina (7-11 S/U, 5-6 ATS). Georgia State opened conference play with two straight losses, but has rebounded with three straight wins including their last a 71-58 win at App State. Coastal Carolina has struggled after winning their opening conference game over Texas Arlington, 90-65. Since that win, Coastal Carolina has lost four straight conference games both S/U and ATS. Oddsmaker make this game a pick, but I have Georgia State anywhwere from 2.5 to 10 depending on the time frame. Still, I like Georgia State here on Saturday. |
01-12-18 | Magic v. Wizards -10.5 | 119-125 | Loss | -108 | 17 h 55 m | Show
Reason: The Orlando Magic bring a six game losing streak into tonight's contest. The Magic are 2-4 ATS during that same stretch. Orlando is just 12-30 on the season and 5-18 on the road. The Magic are also just 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 games. Washington looks to snap a two game losing streak tonight after home losses to Utah and Milwaukee. The Wizards are still 6-4 their last 10. The Wizards have covered six of the last eight in this series and are 9-3-1 ATS the last 13 in Washington. I look for Washington to bounce back tonight and cover this double digit line vs Orlando. |
01-12-18 | Cleveland State v. Oakland -15.5 | 68-81 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 58 m | Show
Cleveland State has struggled all season, posting just four wins in their 17 games. So it's no wonder they have won just one of their four conference games both S/U and ATS. That lone win coming at home over Wisconsin Green Bay. Now they travel to Michigan to play Oakland, which is 10-8 S/U on the season. Oakland has also struggled in Horizon league play, winning their first game and then dropping three before winning last tim out at home over Youngstown State, 95-82. Oakland can score, with point totals over 76 points in 11 of their last 12 games. Cleveland State has struggled scoring points this year as they have scored 62,62, 61 and 63 in four of their last seven games. Cleveland State will have problems keeping up with the Oakland pace tonight. I'm taking Oakland. |
01-12-18 | Marquette v. Butler -4 | 83-94 | Win | 100 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Big East play tonight finds Marquette (13-5 S/U, 8-8 ATS) playing at Butler (12-6 S/U, 8-9 ATS). Marquette is 3-2 in conference play both S/U and ATS. They have a 1-1 record on the road with a OT win at Providence and loss at Villanova. Butler won its first two conference games, but since has dropped three straight. The Bulldogs have been a very good home team, covering nine of their last 12 games. They also do well at home against winning teams, posting a 7-3 ATS mark the last 10. Butler has owned this series of late, covering the last four at home and going 7-1-2 the last 10 overall. Take the home team tonight in Butler. |
01-11-18 | Oregon v. Arizona State -7 | 76-72 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 43 m | Show
A nice PAC-12 matchup tonight has 11-5 Oregon taking on 13-2 Arizona State. The Ducks have won just one of three conference games, that being at home to Colorado, 77-62. The are coming off a road loss to Oregon State, 64-76. The Ducks have also covered just one time in their last four games and twice in their last seven. Arizona State have an excellent season, entering conference play with a perfect 13-0 record. However, they have lost two of their three conference games to Arizona and in OT at Colorado. In fact, all three of their conference games have been road games. They return home tonight where they are 5-1 ATS on the season. Arizona State is hungry for a nice win and they get it here on their home court. Play ASU. |
01-11-18 | James Madison v. William & Mary -7.5 | 82-89 | Loss | -115 | 5 h 28 m | Show
Colonial Athletic action tonight finds James Madison (4-13 S/U, 6-9 ATS) taking on William & Mary (11-4 S/U 9-1 ATS). Madison has struggled most of the season, winning just four times. In addition, they are 0-4 in conference play, covering just one of those games. JMU has now lost five straight games and seven of the last eight. Conversely, William & Mary has won four straight games, all in conference. They have also covered five straight and nine of 10 this season. I like the home team a lot here. Play William & Mary. |
01-11-18 | Celtics -2 v. 76ers | 114-103 | Win | 100 | 13 h 50 m | Show
This game is being played in London, England on the NBA network. The Celtics have had an excellent season, posting a 33-10 record and 26-15-2 ATS mark. This is basically an away game for both teams. The Celtics are 15-5 ATS on the road this season. Philadelphia is 19-19 on the season, 21-16-2 ATS. Boston has won six straight games and covered four of their last five. Philly has a four-game win streak both S/U and ATS. These teams have met twice this year with Boston winning both by 21 and 10 points. I like Boston here on Thursday to cover this short number of two. Play Boston. |
01-10-18 | Temple v. SMU -10.5 | 66-64 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 29 m | Show
American Athletic play has 7-8 Temple playing at 12-5 SMU tonight. The Owls have lost five straight games, four of those conference contests. They are also poor against the number, going just 2-7-1 ATS their last 10 games. SMU has now lost two straight conference games, both on the road to Tulane and Cincinnati. The Mustangs had won five straight before their mini slide. SMU has been tough at home and I expect them to rebound here tonight. Play SMU. |
01-10-18 | Colorado State v. Utah State -8 | 84-75 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 20 m | Show
Mountain West action has 8-9 Colorado State playing at 10-7 Utah State tonight. The Rams have lost three of their four conference games and two straight. CSU is also just 3-5 ATS their last five games. Utah State coming off a big upset win at UNLV last game, 85-78 as nine-point dogs. The Aggies have won three of their four conference games both straight up and against the number. Colorado hasn't done well on the road with their exception of a win at San Jose, 59-52. Their previous three road games they lost by 22, 30 and 26 points. Utah State is a good home team and that will be the difference here tonight. Play Utah State. |
01-10-18 | UCF +1 v. Connecticut | 53-62 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 20 m | Show
American Athletic play tonight sees 12-4 Central Florida playing at 8-7 U Conn. CFU lost their conference opener to SMU, but has rebounded with three straight wins. They are also 4-0 ATS in conference play and have now covered six in a row. U Conn snapped a four game losing streak with a win over East Carolina, 70-65. The Huskies are now 1-2 in conference play and 8-7 on the season. They are just 4-8 ATS on the year and 1-4 ATS at home. This game is about pick tonight, but looking at my recent trend numbers I have UCF as a 10 point and 6 point favorite. I'm taking the road team tonight. Play Central Florida. |
01-09-18 | Boise State +4 v. Fresno State | 70-64 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show
Late Tuesday action has 13-3 Boise State playing at 12-5 Fresno State. Boise is 3-1 in Mountain West play after losing in OT at Wyoming last game, 78-79. The Broncos blew at 16-point half time lead in that game and a late four point lead or they would be perfect in conference. Fresno is 2-2 in conference play with wins over Air Force and Colorado State and losses to Nevada and Utah State. The Bull Dogs have not been good to bettors, dropping five straight against the number. My numbers make Boise a 1 point favorite here while the line has gone to Fresno State as a 4-point favorite. I'm taking the points with Boise here on Tuesday night. |
01-09-18 | Magic v. Mavs -6.5 | 99-114 | Win | 100 | 19 h 9 m | Show
Two teams that are already looking toward the NBA draft and rebuilding are the Magic and the Mavericks. The Magic have just 12 wins and 28 losses and the Mavs are 13-28. Still, one team here tonight is going to win and likely cover and I believe that team is Dallas. Orlando is just 6-19-1 ATS their last 26 games. In addition, the club is just 13-36-2 ATS their last 51 games after a ATS win. The Mavs are 5-2 ATS their last seven games and 7-2 ATS following an ATS loss. Dallas has covered four of the last five meetings at home vs the Magic and are 8-3 ATS overall the last 11 meetings. This is is as much on Dallas as against the Magic. Play Dallas. |
01-09-18 | Syracuse v. Virginia -9.5 | 61-68 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 5 m | Show
ACC action on tap here with Syracuse visiting Virginia. Syracuse is 12-4 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The Orange opened with a win over Virgina Tech, but then lost to Wake Forest and Notre Dame. The Orange also failed to cover the last two and four of the last six. Meanwhile, Virginia is 14-1 on the season with their only loss coming to West Virginia back in early December. Since that loss they have won six straight including three in conference. Oddsmakers have Virginia 9.5 today, my number is 13 on Virginia. I like the home club here today. Play Virginia. |
01-09-18 | Baylor v. West Virginia -9.5 | 54-57 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 4 m | Show
Big 12 action finds Baylor 11-4 playing at West Virginia tonight who is 14-1. The Bears are just 1-2 in conference play after winning last time out at home over Texas, 69-60. West Virginia opened the season with loss at home to Texas A&M, 65-88. Since then they are 14-0 including three wins in conference. The Mountaineers have also won their last three vs the number. I like this West Virginia team a lot and they are playing well. I'll lay the number with them here tonight. Play West Virginia. |
01-08-18 | Hawks v. Clippers -4 | 107-108 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 2 m | Show
Both these teams looking for a win after losing two straight games. The Hawks lost at Portland, 89-110 and then at Phoenix 10-104. The Clippers had it a bit rougher hosting the Warriors and Thunder in their losses. The Clippers will also be without star Blake Griffin tonight, who was injured last game. That won't matter much against this Hawks team though. The Clippers are 11-3-1 ATS their last 15 games overall and 6-2 ATS their last eight games. The Hawks have just three road wins in 20 games this season and I don't see them getting one here tonight, even without Griffin playing for the Clippers. Play Los Angeles here on Monday. |
01-08-18 | Raptors -7 v. Nets | 114-113 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 2 m | Show
The Toronto Raptors go for their fifth win ina row tonight at Brooklyn. The Raptors have won two straight on the road, at Milwaukee and at Chicago. Toronto is 8-3 ATS their last 11 games and 19-7 ATS their last 26 against the Atlantic division. Brooklyn had its two game win streak snapped last game at home vs Boston, 85-87. The Nets haven't scored more than 98 points in three straight games now. The Raptors have covered the last four meetings with the Nets and the last four in Brooklyn. The road team is also 5-2 ATS the last seven. I'm taking the Raptors here on Monday. |
01-07-18 | Northern Kentucky -11.5 v. Detroit | 56-54 | Loss | -101 | 3 h 7 m | Show
Horizon League action as 10-5 Northern Kentucky takes on 4-12 Detroit. NKU has a excellent spread record, covering five straight and 10 of 12 games this year. The club is 3-0 in conference play after wins over Indiana Purdue and Illinois Chicago at home and Oakland on the road, covering all three. Oakland has had a horrible season, losing all three conference games and 10 straight contest. You have to go back to November to find a win for the team. They haven't done much better against the number, covering just twice in the last seven games. The line is 11.5 on NKU but my numbers show 17.5, 20 and 17. I'm taking Northern Kentucky. |
01-06-18 | San Diego +13.5 v. St. Mary's | 63-70 | Win | 100 | 12 h 41 m | Show
San Diego enters tonight's game 3-0 in West Coast Conference play and 12-3 overall on the season. SDG has won four straight and seven of the last eight. They are coming off a OT win at Portland, 81-74. St Marys also is 3-0 in conference play and has won nine straight games for a 14-2 overall record. The Gaels are 3-2-1 ATS their last six games. Line is a bit stiff here tonight with St Mary's at 13.5 points. My own number has this under 10 and in recent trends around 10 also. Should be a competitive game late tonight, I'm taking the points with San Diego. |
01-06-18 | Duke -12.5 v. NC State | 85-96 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Duke brings its 13-1 record tonight to NC State. The Blue Devils lost their first game of the season in their ACC opener to Boston College 84-89. The Blue Devils then rebounded with a 104-40 win over Evansville and a 100-93 win over Florida State. Meanwhile NC State looking for its first conference win after losing on the road to Clemson, 62-78 and at Notre Dame, 58-88. NC State has failed to cover in its last three posted games and is just 3-5 ATS on the season. My recent trend power ratings show Duke at 24 and 17 point favorite. Overall, Duke is 14 so all my numbers show me Duke is the side here. |
01-06-18 | Boise State v. Wyoming | 78-79 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 21 m | Show
Mountain West GOY : Boise State 13-2 travels to Laramie, Wyoming to face the Cowboys tonight. Boise is 3-0 in Mountain West paly, winning at UNLV, 83-74 and at home over Colorado State 93-71 and New Mexico 9-62. The Broncos have also covered three straight and eight of the last 10. Wyoming opened conference play with a nice win over San Diego State, 82-69. However, they then lost at Nevada, 83-92. They also had a tough loss at home to Northern Colorado, 84-91. Oddsmakers have Boise 1.5 favorite here while my number has them at seven. Plus my recent trend numbers have them at nine. I'm taking the visitor in Boise State as my Mountain West Game of the Year. |
01-06-18 | South Alabama +12.5 v. Texas-Arlington | 67-91 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 55 m | Show
Sun Belt conference game here today as 8-7 South Alabama takes on 10-6 Texas Arlington. S.Alabama may have just over a .500 record, however they have done great against the spread, posting a 11-1 ATS mark this year. S.Alabama won its first two conference games and then lost last time out at Texas State, 69-72. Texas Arlington lost its first two conference games at Coastal Carolina, 65-90 and then at App St, 76-80. The got their first win last game at home over Troy State, 86-76. UTA is a 12.5 point favorite here today. All of my numbers show me that's too high, in fact my recent trend number has the game close to pick. S.Alabama has done well covering all year and I'm taking the points with them here today. |
01-06-18 | Seton Hall v. Butler -2.5 | 90-87 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 51 m | Show
Excellent Big East Matchup here on Saturday as the 13-2 Seton Hall Pirates take on the 12-4 Butler Bulldogs. Seton Hall is 2-0 in Big East play so far with wins over Creighton and St Johns. Even with their excellent record, the club is just 1-4 ATS their last five games. Butler is 2-1 in conference play, having lost at Xavier last time out, 79-86. The loss snapped a four game win streak for the Bulldogs. One of my numbers really stands out here today and that's the recent play number that has Butler as a 16 point favorite. Sure, that line is way too big, but it gives me an indication of which way these teams are playing. We are laying just a couple here on Saturday so I'll take that number with Butler. |
01-06-18 | Nevada -14 v. Air Force | 86-75 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 21 m | Show
Nevada having a great season at 14-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Wolfpack has roared through conference play with blowout wins over Wyoming and Fresno and a narrow win over New Mexico. Air Force, well not so good so far. The Falcons have been grounded so far with just a 6-8 overall record and 4-4 ATS mark. The Falcons are 0-2 in conference play with a 29 point loss at New Mexico and a 12 point loss at Fresno. Air Force has won just one time in their last six games. Nevada is a hefty 15 point road favorite here. However, my numbers say that is not nearly enough as I come in at 23 on Nevada and 26 in my recent trend numbers. It's a lot, but don't worry about laying the price with Nevada. |
01-05-18 | Northern Kentucky +1.5 v. Oakland | 87-83 | Win | 100 | 14 h 17 m | Show
Horizon League action on tap today as 9-5 Northern Kentucky takes on 9-6 Oakland. NKU is 2-0 in conference play after a pair of home wins. They have also covered four straight and nine of 11 games this year. Oakland is 1-1 in conference play after a pair of away games. NKU has double revenge on its mind after losing both games to Oakland last year. NKU also played a very tough non-con schedule compared to that of Oakland. We see Oakland has moved to a 1.5 point favorite here today. My power lines has NKU as a nearly 3-poinf favorite and winning both recent trend lines too. I am taking the points here today with Northern Kentucky. |

01-05-18 | Niagara v. Siena OVER 157 | 84-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 16 m | Show
Metro Atlantic Conference play here has Niagara and Siena matching up. I am looking at the OVER here today. When we look at Niagara we see a team that has been a great over bet all season. They have gone over in their two conference matchups and over in five straight and a perfect 11-0 O/U on the season. This is a team that consistently scores 80 and above points. When we look at Siena, we don't see the same overs as with Niagara. We see a mix of both over and unders. What we do see though, is a team that does allow some points. They allowed 81 to Vermont, 115 to Bucknell and 86 to Florida Gulf Stream. Now they play a fast paced Niagara team that will push the pace up and down the court here today. I'm taking the OVER. |
01-04-18 | Thunder v. Clippers +2 | 127-117 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 15 m | Show
The Clippers have really improved of late, winning four straight games and six of their last seven games. They have also covered four straight and are 9-1-1 ATS their last 11. While the Clippers average 104.8 ppg this season, they are averaging 114.8 ppg their last five and allowing just 104.8 ppg. OKC is just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 away games and 6-14 their last 20 overall. In addition, the home team has covered in this series the last four meetings. I like the way the Clippers are playing and will take them here tonight. Play LA CLippers. |
01-04-18 | UC-Santa Barbara -4.5 v. Cal Poly | 79-80 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Cal Santa Barbara (11-3 S/U, 9-2 ATS) opens Big West play tonight at Cal Poly. CSUB had an excellent non-con schedule, winning 10 of their last 11 games. They also did very well against the number, covering three straight and eight of the last nine. Cal Poly limps into conference play tonight, losing five of their last six and seven of their last nine games. In addition, the club has covered just one time in their last seven tries. Oddsmakers have CSUB as 4.5 point favorites, but my numbers shows them closer to 10. Take Cal Santa Barbara. |
01-04-18 | Northern Iowa v. Missouri State -5 | 55-62 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
Missouri Valley Conference play tonight as Northern Iowa (8-6 S/U, 3-6 AST) takes on Missouri State (12-3 S/U, 7-4 ATS). N.Iowa lost their conference opener at home to Southern Illinois, 53-72, making that their four loss in a row and fifth vs the number. Meanwhile, Missouri State is 2-0 in conference play with a home win over Loyola Chicago, 64-59, and a road win over Valparaiso, 67-50. While my overall power line is right about the same as the oddsmaker, I look also at my recent lines, which show me as Missouri State 15-point and 13 point favorites. I'm taking Missouri State here tonight. |
01-04-18 | Houston +10.5 v. Wichita State | 63-81 | Loss | -112 | 7 h 28 m | Show
American Athletic play continues tonight for a pair of 12-2 teams. Houston has won their two conference games, with a road win at South Florida 79-60 and a home win over Temple, 76-73. The Cougars have now won four straight games and 11 of their last 12 games. Wichita State comes off their first conference win at U Conn, 72-62. The Shockers have failed to cover four straight games and five of the last six however. Two of my recent trend numbers have Houston a one-point dog and a four-point dog, well inside the range the oddsmakers put up tonight of Wichita State -10. I'm taking the points here with Houston. |
01-04-18 | East Tennessee State -8.5 v. Samford | 90-72 | Win | 100 | 7 h 33 m | Show
East Tennessee State rolled in their Southern Conference opener over Mercer, 74-55. But that's been the way for ETS as they have rolled over opponents this year, covering seven straight games on their way to a 10-4 record. Can't say the same for Samford which is 5-9 on the season and 2-6 ATS. Samford did win their conference opener at home over Chattanooga, 73-56. My numbers show E.Tenn St as a 14 point road favorite and almost 20 points if I look at recent play. I'm taking the visitor here in East Tennessee State. |
01-03-18 | Miami-FL -5.5 v. Georgia Tech | 54-64 | Loss | -106 | 19 h 58 m | Show
Miami Florida won their ACC opener at Pittsburgh, 67-53, making the Hurricanes 12-1 on the season and 6-2 ATS. The Canes haven't played a true home home since December 5th and tonight play another away game at Georgia Tech. Miami is 6-2-ATS on the road. Georgia Tech lost it's third game in four nights in their ACC opener at Notre Dame, 59-68. It was also the club's sixth loss in their last eight games. Oddsmakers have Miami a 5.5 to 6 point favorite while my numbers come in at Miami nearly 16 points. All my situational numbers are double digit on Miami and that's who I'm taking tonight. Play Miami Florida |
01-03-18 | St Bonaventure -2 v. Dayton | Top | 72-82 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 28 m | Show |
Atlantic 10 play tonight has 11-2 St Bonnys at 6-7 Dayton. St Bonny's opened conference play with a win at home over U Mass, 98-78. It was the teams eighth straight win and third cover in a row. St Bonny's had some quality non-conf wins too, with a neutral site win over Maryland and a road win over Syracuse. Dayton lost their opener in conference play, 62-70. It was the team's third loss in their last five games. In addition, the Flyers have a 1-4 ATS record their last five games. Oddsmakers have St Bonny's as a 2-point chalk here. My number has them at nine with their recent streaks at 18 and 14. All my numbers point to an easy St Bonny win tonight. Play St Bonaventure. |
01-03-18 | St. John's v. Creighton -12 | 71-78 | Loss | -105 | 18 h 58 m | Show
Big East play tonight has Creighton (11-3 S/U, 8-5 ATS) hosting St Johns (10-4 S/U, 6-6 ATS). St John's is 0-2 in Big East play after losses at home to Providence and on the road at Seton Hall. Now they have to take on one of the top teams in the conference in Creighton. Creighton lost their conference opener at Seton Hall, 84-90 and returned with a win at home over Providence, 83-64. Oddsmaker has Creighton 12-point favorite here tonight. My recent streak numbers have Creighton at 22 and 15 with the season number at 14.8. I like the home team here tonight as all my numbers point to a cover. Take Creighton. |
01-03-18 | VCU +1 v. St. Joe's | 81-87 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 47 m | Show
VCU looks to improve in Atlantic 10 play to 2-0 tonight after an opening conference win at home over Fordham, 76-63. It was the team's fourth win in a row and sixth in the last eight. St Joe's has struggled this season to a 5-7 overall record and opening conference loss at George Washington, 62-70. It was the team's fourth loss in five nights. Oddsmakers have St Joe's a 1-point favorite here tonight. My numbers all have VCU has the favorite with a high of 5 points. Take Virginia Commonwealth tonight. |
01-02-18 | Grizzlies v. Clippers -5 | Top | 105-113 | Win | 100 | 22 h 31 m | Show |
The Clippers have really improved of late, winning three straight games and five of their last six games. They have also covered three straight and are 8-1-1 ATS their last 10. While the Clippers average 105.5 ppg this season, they are averaging 117.8 ppg their last five and allowing just 106.4 ppg. The Grizzlies are just 5-13 on the road this season adn 12-25 overall. Even though the Grizzlies have done better in this series, I like the way the Clippers are playing lately and I'll lay the points here with LA. Play the Clippers |
01-02-18 | Hawks v. Suns -1 | 103-104 | Push | 0 | 20 h 0 m | Show
The Atlanta Hawks travel west to take on the Phoenix Suns. The Hawks have won just three of 18 away games this year and are 10-26 overall. The Hawks haven't done well against the Pacific division, going just 1-7 in their last eight. The Suns are 6-14 at home and 14-24 overall. The Suns have covered two of their last three games and are 6-4 their last 10. These teams don't meet often, but the Suns are 4-0 ATS the last four meetings and 4-1 ATS the last five in Phoenix. Looking mainly for an outright win here by the home team with such a short line. Take Phoenix. |
01-02-18 | Penn State +4 v. Maryland | 69-75 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 44 m | Show
Nice Big-10 matchup here today as 11-4 Penn State takes on 12-3 Maryland. The Nittany Lions actually played two conference games back in early December, beating Iowa 77-72 and losing to Wisconsin, 63-64. The rest here out are Big-10 games with Maryland tonight. The Lions have won four of their last five games and covered two of their last three. Maryland also played two Big-10 games back in early December, losing at home to Purdue, 75-80 and winning at Illinois, 92-91. The Terps have won five straight non-conf games, but all against low level competition. Maryland has had to endure lots of injuries this year, including season-ending injuries to forward Justin Jackson and Ivan Bender. That left the team with just nine healthy scholarship players and 12 on the roster heading into today's game. Also is a possible look aheader with No 1 Michigan State coming up Thursday. I'm taking the points here with Penn State as they may just jump up and win this outright. Play Penn State. |
01-02-18 | William & Mary +2 v. James Madison | 84-76 | Win | 100 | 8 h 44 m | Show
William and Mary opened Colonial conference play with a nice win at home over Hofstra, 90-87. W&M has scored well all season, with points over the 90 point level on five occasions. They have also covered well, with a 6-1 ATS record this season. James Madison is just 4-10 thus far with a 5-7 ATS mark. JM lost their conference opener at home to Northeastern, 70-81. It was the team's fourth loss in five games. My own numbers make William & Mary a favorite here, yet we are getting 2-points from the oddsmaker. I'll take them, play William & Mary. |
12-31-17 | Utah +1 v. Oregon State | 66-64 | Win | 100 | 7 h 28 m | Show
Utah opened PAC-12 conference play with a win over Oregon, 66-56 on Friday. The win was the club's ninth this season. Oregon State also opened with a PAC-12 conference win over Colorado, 76-57. Oregon State also has nine wins this season, though they are just 4-4 ATS. This is another example of the oddsmaker and my lines being way off. They have OSU a 1-point favorite, while my numbers make Utah a 4.5 point favorite. I'm taking the visitor here on Sunday with Utah. |
12-31-17 | Eastern Washington v. North Dakota | 77-64 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
Right off the bat the line hits me like a brick wall. I have E.Washington a six point favorite here today while the oddsmaker has put a pick on this game. Neither team is all that great, E.Wa has five wins while North Dakota has just four wins. Eastern has played better of late, winning two of three straight up and three of four against the spread. North Dakota got hammered in its Big SKy home opener on Friday, 57-74 by Idaho. It was the club's sixth spread loss in their last seven tries. They have also lost six games in a row straight up. We just need a win out of the visitor today to cover this one. Play Eastern Washington. |
12-31-17 | Georgia State +2 v. Troy State | 66-68 | Push | 0 | 6 h 53 m | Show
Georgia State opened its Sun Belt conference play with a loss to South Alabama, 64-84. Ga State had won four of its previous five games before the loss. Ga State also has done well against the spread, covering three of the last four and seven of 10 this year. Troy lost its conf opener at home to Georgia Southern, 80-86. It was the fifth loss in the last six games for the Trojans. In addition, Troy has now failed to cover five straight games. Troy a small favorite here while my numbers tell me that Georgia State should be the favorite. Play the visitor, Georgia State. |
12-30-17 | 76ers v. Nuggets -7.5 | 107-102 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 22 m | Show
Philadelphia (15-19 S/U, 17-16-1 ATS) travels to the Mile High City to take on Denver (19-16 S/U, 17-17-1 ATS). Philly has been cold, losers of eight of their last 10 games. In addition, the Sixers are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games and 3-12-1 ATS their last 16 overall. Denver has averaged 111.7 ppg at home this year while Philly has averaged 107.6 ppg on the road. Probably the biggest news today is that of Philly center Joel Embiid, who will sit out today's contest for rest reasons. Embiid has average 23.96 ppg this season and 11.0 rebounds per game. That's a lot of production to replace today. Always tough for these visitors to adjust to the Denver altitude for just one game. With Embiid out, I'm taking the Nuggets here on Saturday. |
12-30-17 | Arizona State +6.5 v. Arizona | Top | 78-84 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show |
Arizona State puts its perfect 12-0 record on the line this evening against intrastate rival Arizona. ASU not only is perfect straight up, but has an outstanding spread record at 9-1. The Sun Devils have beaten Kansas, Xavier, Kansas State and San Diego State this season. Three of those wins by at least double-digits. Arizona had a rough patch early in the season when they played in a preseason tournament where they lost all three games to NC State, SMU and Purdue. However, since then they have won all seven games. Their spread record isn't very good, covering just five of 12 tries. Bit surprised at the line here today with Arizona a 6 to 6.5 points chalk. My numbers actually show ASU the favorite. Play Arizona State. |
12-30-17 | Temple +7.5 v. Houston | 73-76 | Win | 100 | 6 h 5 m | Show
Temple already has one American Athletic conference game under it's belt, a 75-85 loss at Tulane. The Owls played in a lot of preseason tourneys, and they did well, winning five of six games and going 4-2 ATS. The Owls have also beat Wisconsin this season. Houston is 1-0 in conference play, beating South Florida, 79-60. One of Houston's losses this year was to Drexel, a team they were favored by 13.5 points. Which leads me to today's line of 8.5 or 9 on Houston. That line is just too high here for this matchup. Houston is the better team, but not by that many points. Take the number with Temple. |
12-30-17 | New Mexico v. Nevada -13.5 | 74-77 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 15 m | Show
New Mexico limps into Reno this afternoon at 6-8 S/U, 4-7 ATS to play a very good Nevada Wolfpack team at 12-4 S/U. The Lobos opened their Mountain West play on Wednesday with a win at home over Air Force, 87-58. That was just the team's fourth win in their last 12 games. Moreover, NMU covered just its second game in their last six tries. Nevada also opened conf play with a win, 80-65 over Fresno State. The Wolfpack started the season with eight straight covers before running into a rough patch that saw the club cover just once in their next five before the Fresno blowout. They return home where they have pretty much dominated teams this year. My personal line is six higher then what the oddsmaker made Nevada a favorite. I like the home team here in a easy blowout win. |
12-30-17 | Towson +4 v. College of Charleston | 62-73 | Loss | -107 | 4 h 15 m | Show
Two three-loss teams face off in conference play today as 10-3 Towson takes on 9-3 Charleston. Neither team has any real big opponents on their resumes this year with the exception of Charleston who played Wichita State early and lost 64-81. Line is too high here on the host, which is laying four today. My line has this game at pick, which seems much more in line with the opponents and results of these two clubs. Take the points here with Towson. |
12-29-17 | Georgia Southern -1 v. Troy State | 86-80 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show
Georgia Southern and Troy both open their Sun Belt Conference play tonight. Georgia Southern Eagles finished non-conf play 9-4 S/u. The Eagles big resume win was over Wake Forest, 85-83 as a 11 point dog. The Troy Trojans lost four of their last five non-conf games. They also were 0-4 in their last four spread games. My own numbers give me a play tonight on Georgia Southern. |
12-29-17 | Idaho -2.5 v. North Dakota | 74-57 | Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show
The Idaho Vandals take on North Dakota Fighting Hawks as both teams open Big Sky Conference play today. Idaho finished non-conf play with a 8-4 record. Their big resume win was a win at home over Washington State, 91-64. North Dakota was just 4-7 in non-conf play including losing their last four games and going 1-5 ATS their last six spread games. The Fighting Hawks best showing was an OT loss to Gonzaga, 83-89. Idaho is a three point favorite tonight, my numbers have them at 10. Play Idaho. |
12-29-17 | Texas State +4 v. Appalachian State | 62-66 | Push | 0 | 6 h 54 m | Show
Texas State Bobcats (7-6 S/U 2-4 ATS) take on Appalachian State Mountaineers (5-8 S/U, 5-5 ATS). Texas State is coming off a win over intrastate rival Rice, 74-66. App State looks to break a four game losing streak. The Mountaineers lost badly at Hampton last time out, 53=86. The Mountaineers are also 1-5 ATS their last six Sun Belt games. The Bobcats have done much better in conference play, going 5-2 in their last 7 vs the Sun Belts. My number on this game shows a play taking the points here with Texas State. |
12-29-17 | Iona v. Niagara OVER 164 | 98-93 | Win | 100 | 5 h 27 m | Show
Iona has historically been one of the higher scoring teams in the Metro Atlantic conference. As they start conference play tonight, Iona has scored 80 points or more in six of their last 10 non-conf games. Niagara can also score points, putting up 80 or more in seven of their last 10 games and 77 or more in all of their last 10 games. In fact, this season Niagara has had a total line nine times and they have gone OVER all nine times. At home, you can even expect a higher output out of Niagara. I'm taking the OVER here tonight. |
12-28-17 | Montana State v. Southern Utah | Top | 104-99 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 6 m | Show |
Big Sky conference play openers tonight for Montana State (7-6 S/U, 4-7 ATS) and Southern Utah (6-5 S/U, 8-1 ATS). MSU lost three of its last four games heading into tonight's contest including losses at Nebraska-Omaha, Cal Santa Barbara and Central Michigan. In addition, Montana State has covered just two of their last seven games. Southern Utah has failed to cover just once this season, against Iowa, losing 64-92 as 17-point dogs. Southern Utah is pick in this game, my own line has S.Utah as a 7-point favorite. Play the home team here in Southern Utah. |
12-28-17 | Creighton +5 v. Seton Hall | 84-90 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 6 m | Show
Big East conference play begins for both these clubs. Creighton (10-2 S/U, 7-4 ATS) takes on Seton Hall (11-2 S/U, 6-7 ATS). Creighton rolled through non-conf schedule, losing only to Gonzaga and Baylor. Creighton was a double digit favorite in their last five games, covering three of those. Seton Hall played in a lot of preseason tournaments, with four games in all coming on neutral courts. The Pirates had non-conf losses to Rhode Island and Rutgers. The Pirates also failed to cover their last three games. Oddsmakers have Seton Hall a five point favorite here today while numbers have this game pick or even Creighton a small favorite. I'm taking the points with Creighton. |
12-27-17 | San Diego State -3 v. Wyoming | Top | 69-82 | Loss | -106 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
San Diego State has long been known as a great defensive team. However, that has changed this year. Not only are the Aztecs still a potent defense, but they have added an offense. The Aztecs were 9-3 S/U and 6-3 ATS in their non-conf schedule including their last win over Gonzaga, 72-70 as six point dogs. Wyoming comes into today's game at 9-4 S/U and 4-7 ATS. The Cowboys coming off a disappointing loss to Northern Colorado, 84-91 as 9.5 point favorite. Oddsmaker has the Aztecs at 3 point chalks today, my number is closer to 10. Play San Diego State. |
