2025 PGA Tour Picks
It’s 2025 Procore Championship free pick time. The FedExCup Fall schedule for the PGA Tour will kick off with a bang, and a much stronger field than we’re used to seeing at most tournaments in the fall, with the U.S. team utilizing this event as a tune-up for the Ryder Cup, with 10 of the 12 players on the U.S. team in the field.

With U.S. Ryder Cup captain encouraging his team to participate in this event as preparation for the international event at Bethpage Black. The only two players on the team not participating this week are Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau. DeChambeau is of course ineligible to participate as a member of LIV Golf.
This Week on the PGA Tour
The field this week is headlined by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, and also includes his Ryder Cup teammates Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Harris English, Ben Griffin, Russell Henley, Colin Morikawa, J.J. Spaun, Justin Thomas, and Cameron Young.
The U.S. team’s Ryder Cup loss two years ago in Rome contributed to the decision the Americans needed to add a tune-up event to their schedules to keep at their best and reduce downtime between the Procore Championship and the Ryder Cup.
Two years ago, nine of the Americans’ 12 Ryder Cup players were off the full five weeks between the Procore Championship and the Ryder Cup. Back then, only Justin Thomas and Max Homa competed in this tournament – then known as the Fortinet Championship – and both players finished in the top-10 in Napa, and then the duo went on to combine for five of the Americans’ 11.5 Ryder points.
Conversely, all 12 of the European Ryder Cup members played in the BMW PGA Championship two weeks before the Ryder Cup in 2023 and seven of them finished in the top 10. Nearly all of the European Ryder Cup team members have committed to playing the BMW PGA Championship this week.
Keegan Bradley will be on-site for this event, as will Bryson DeChambeau. Three of Bradley’s five vice captains – Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, and Gary Woodland – will be in the field competing. Xander Schauffele may be with the team in some capacity as well.

Ultimately, consistency hasn’t been a staple of Spaun’s game, but when picking winners, inconsistency isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because if we can ride those high waves that’s what can get us home. Spaun’s played in each of the last five Procore Championships and has a pair of top-11 finishes.

Indeed, Bhatia is one of the top players on the odds board who won’t be teeing it up at the Ryder Cup. He’s played in the Procore Championship twice before and finished T9 in his debut here in 2020 when he began making a name for himself on Tour.
