2026 Tour Championship Free Picks are here, and this is the one we’ve been building toward all season. Thirty players are left. Four rounds at East Lake will decide the FedExCup champion, and CappersPicks.com has the betting odds, course breakdown, handicapping angles, and outright picks for the PGA Tour finale.
No cut. No starting-strokes advantage. No next week.
The best 30 players left standing get four rounds in Atlanta to settle it, with $10 million waiting for the winner. That’s about as clean as it gets.

2026 Tour Championship Free Picks
The FedExCup Playoffs started with 70 players in Memphis. That number dropped to 50 for the BMW Championship, and now we’re down to the final 30 at East Lake.
This is it.
Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark won the first two playoff events, but nobody starts this week with shots in the bank. For the second straight year, the Tour Championship will be played without the old starting-strokes format.
Everybody starts Thursday at even par.
That gives us a true 72-hole tournament for the FedExCup, and I like it a lot better from a betting standpoint. We don’t have to figure out whether a golfer at +1400 can chase down somebody who started the week six shots ahead of him.
This Week on the PGA Tour
There are PGA Tour events later on the calendar, but for the big names, this is the finish line. The FedExCup is on the table, the winner takes home $10 million, and there are only 30 guys left who can win it.
Scottie Scheffler comes in as the favorite.
He won the FedEx St. Jude Championship to open the playoffs and also won the Tour Championship two years ago. At +350 this week, the sportsbooks aren’t exactly giving anything away.
Tommy Fleetwood returns as defending champion after finally getting his first PGA Tour victory here last year. He didn’t pick a bad week to do it either, winning the tournament by three shots and taking the FedExCup with it.
Thirty players, four rounds, no head start — somebody leaves East Lake with the FedExCup.
That’s what makes this week fun to handicap.
There are no weak players hiding at the bottom of a 150-man field. Even the biggest prices on the board belong to golfers who played well enough all season to make it through two playoff cuts and earn a trip to Atlanta.
East Lake Golf Club Course Preview
East Lake isn’t a place where I’m looking for somebody to fake it around for four days. You need to hit the ball well, and with only 30 players in the field, mediocre golf isn’t going to stay near the top of the leaderboard for very long.
Approach play will be a big part of my handicap.
Guys who keep giving themselves good birdie looks can put together a run here, but East Lake can also make you pay when the irons get loose. With no cut, one bad stretch doesn’t end the week, but giving away three or four shots against this field is a tough way to chase a FedExCup.
The putter matters too.
That’s one reason Collin Morikawa caught my attention this week. We already know how good he can be tee-to-green, and he’s been gaining strokes with the putter lately.
Tour Championship Betting Trends
This isn’t a normal PGA Tour betting board. With only 30 players, some very good golfers are sitting at prices we don’t see often during the regular season.
I’m not automatically chasing the biggest number.
East Lake’s recent winners include Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Tiger Woods. This tournament has a pretty good habit of finding one of the best players in the field.
Current form still matters just as much.
Sam Burns had a rougher BMW Championship, but before that he had top-5 finishes at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Open Championship, and U.S. Open. Morikawa comes in off a T4 at the BMW after finishing third at the Travelers.
Robert MacIntyre is the bigger number I’m watching.
Throw out that ugly second-round 82 in Memphis and his recent results include finishes of T15, T10, T7, and T3. At +4500 in a 30-man field, that gets my attention.
Last Year
Tommy Fleetwood had spent plenty of Sundays getting close to his first PGA Tour win. When it finally happened, he picked a pretty good tournament to get it done.
Fleetwood won the 2025 Tour Championship by three shots.
Sunday got a little easier when Patrick Cantlay opened bogey-double bogey and Scottie Scheffler sent his opening tee shot out of bounds. Scheffler stayed in the fight for a while, but finding the water off the tee at No. 15 ended his real chance of catching Fleetwood.
Fleetwood closed with a 2-under 68 to beat Cantlay and Russell Henley.
It also erased some painful memories from earlier in the season. Fleetwood had lost a one-shot lead at the Travelers Championship and then watched a two-shot advantage disappear over the final three holes at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
At East Lake, he finally finished the job.
His first PGA Tour victory came with the FedExCup and a $10 million payday attached.

That’s a serious winners list.
Rory McIlroy has won this thing three times since 2016, while Scheffler, Hovland, Cantlay, Johnson, Schauffele, and Woods all appear during that same stretch. Fleetwood joined the group last season with his breakthrough win.
I’m not ignoring that when I build this week’s card.
2026 Tour Championship Free Picks – PGA Golf
Scottie Scheffler is sitting at +350, and you don’t need me to explain why he’s the favorite. He won the first playoff event, won at East Lake in 2024, and has started turning a season full of close calls into victories.
After him, this board opens up.
Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa are both +1800 and give us two completely different ways to attack the middle of the board. Robert MacIntyre is my swing at a bigger price at +4500.
My 2026 Tour Championship Free Picks aren’t about forcing four bets because it’s the last tournament of the season. We’re down to 30 golfers now, so every number has to make sense.
Here are my four outright plays for the Tour Championship.
2026 Tour Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Scottie Scheffler +350
Scottie Scheffler comes into East Lake as the favorite, and nobody should be surprised by that number. He won the FedEx St. Jude Championship to open the playoffs, and he’s only two years removed from winning the Tour Championship.
The price is the problem.
At +350, we’re not getting much room for error, but Scheffler has spent most of this season knocking on the door even when he wasn’t winning. Now the wins are starting to come again.
He’s the guy everyone has to beat this week.
Our 2026 Tour Championship Free Picks start with Scheffler because I’m not going to get cute and leave the best player in the field off the card just because the number is short.
2026 Tour Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Sam Burns +1800
Sam Burns didn’t give us much at the BMW Championship, finishing T28 after entering the week in much better form. I’m willing to look past one bad tournament.
Before the BMW, Burns had been right there against some loaded fields.
He posted top-5 finishes at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the Open Championship, and the U.S. Open. More importantly for this week, Burns has finished inside the top 10 at East Lake in each of the past three years.
That’s enough for me to come back at +1800.
Thirty-man fields don’t give you many places to hide, and Burns has already shown he can play this golf course. If he gets back to the form we saw before last week, he’ll have a chance on Sunday.
2026 Tour Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Collin Morikawa +1800
Collin Morikawa is quietly putting together one of the better finishes to the season. He finished third at the Travelers Championship and comes into Atlanta off a T4 at the BMW Championship.
He’s also finished inside the top 20 at both the U.S. Open and Open Championship.
The part that has my attention is the putter.
Morikawa’s ball striking has never been the big question. When he’s also gaining strokes on the greens, we’re talking about a completely different betting proposition.
At +1800, I’m interested.
He doesn’t need some career putting week to win this. Give Morikawa four solid days on the greens and let his irons do the rest.
2026 Tour Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Robert MacIntyre +4500
Robert MacIntyre is the bigger swing on my Tour Championship card. His FedEx St. Jude Championship was ugly, and there’s no way around an 82 in the second round.
He bounced back.
Take that Memphis result out and MacIntyre’s last six events include finishes of T15, T10, T7, and T3. That’s a much better picture of how he’s been playing than one disastrous round.
Now we’re getting +4500 in a field of only 30 players.
I don’t need MacIntyre to be as likely to win as Scheffler or McIlroy. At this number, I need enough good golf already in the bag to believe he can get himself into the conversation over four rounds.
He gives me that.
Best Mid-Tier Value Plays
This is where the Tour Championship board gets interesting. Xander Schauffele is +1500, Ludvig Åberg +1600, and then we hit a group at +1800 that includes Matt Fitzpatrick, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Cameron Young, and Collin Morikawa.
That’s a lot of talent packed into a small range.
Tommy Fleetwood and Patrick Cantlay are both +2000, with Chris Gotterup and Si Woo Kim sitting at +2200. In a normal PGA Tour field, several of these guys would be much closer to the top of the board.
Morikawa is the one I keep coming back to.
The T4 at the BMW matters, but so does the improvement with his putter. If that continues for one more week, +1800 is playable.
Darkhorse Candidates Worth Watching
Once we get past the +2500 range, the names don’t suddenly disappear.
Viktor Hovland is +2700, Russell Henley +3000, and Hideki Matsuyama +3300. J.J. Spaun and Gary Woodland follow at +4000 before we hit a crowded +4500 group.
That’s where MacIntyre lands.
Ryan Gerard, Tom Kim, Jacob Bridgeman, Justin Rose, and Adam Scott are also +4500. With only 30 golfers playing, I’m not treating any of those guys like some wild lottery ticket.
One good Thursday can change the entire board.
Longshot Golfers With Upside
There really aren’t traditional longshots at the Tour Championship. Everybody here survived two playoff events and earned his way into the final 30.
Min Woo Lee is +5500, while Kristoffer Reitan and Alex Smalley sit at +6500.
Then the board jumps.
Ryan Fox, Akshay Bhatia, and Alex Fitzpatrick are all +10000. Those are big numbers in a 30-man field, but they’re still going to need four very good rounds to get past the names sitting above them.
There are only 30 guys left — a big price at East Lake doesn’t mean you’re betting some guy who snuck into the field.
That’s the difference this week.
I’m willing to take a shot at +4500 with MacIntyre, but once we get into triple digits, I would rather look at Top-10s, matchups, or live betting than force another outright ticket.
Full Handicapping Odds To Win The 2026 Tour Championship
We’re down to 30 players, so this isn’t your normal PGA Tour odds board. Scottie Scheffler is the clear favorite at +350, Rory McIlroy is next at +950, and then the prices start opening up.
There are some very good golfers sitting at +1800 or higher.

This is a small field, so “mid-tier” is relative. Viktor Hovland and Hideki Matsuyama have both won some very big golf tournaments, while Russell Henley has more than enough game to hang around East Lake for four days.

This group starts at +4500, and there are a few names I can make a case for. Robert MacIntyre is already on my card, while Tom Kim, Justin Rose, and Adam Scott have enough experience that I wouldn’t be shocked to see any of them hanging around the leaderboard.
Again, we’re only dealing with 30 players.

Now we’re getting into the really big prices. Ryan Fox, Akshay Bhatia, and Alex Fitzpatrick are all sitting at +10000, which is tempting when there are only 30 golfers in the tournament.
I’m not forcing it.
At these numbers, I’d rather see what Thursday gives us and possibly come back live than throw another outright onto the card just because the odds look big.

How to Bet the Tour Championship
Only 30 golfers are playing and everybody gets four rounds. That makes this a great week to look beyond the outright winner market.
Top-5s and Top-10s are obviously in play.
I also like head-to-head matchups this week because we know these players pretty well by now. We’ve watched them through two playoff events, so there isn’t much guessing about who’s playing good golf and who isn’t.
Live betting could be even better.
If somebody like Morikawa is hitting it all over the flag Thursday but can’t make a putt, I’ll be watching his live number. The same goes for a good player who gets off to a slow start without actually playing that badly.
There are no cuts and no starting strokes this week — don’t bury a good golfer after nine bad holes.
Four rounds is plenty of time to get back into it.
Weather Could Play a Role at East Lake
Late August in Atlanta means heat and humidity, and weather can always become part of the story. If rain softens East Lake, we could see the guys get more aggressive firing into the greens.
Wind would change things.
I’m not making a weather bet on Wednesday, but I’ll be checking the forecast before locking in matchups and placement bets. If Thursday or Friday gives one side of the draw a noticeable break, there’s no reason not to use it.
