2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks are here as the PGA Tour gets back to work after a few weeks off. The FedExCup Fall begins at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, and CappersPicks.com has the betting odds, tournament breakdown, handicapping angles, and outright picks for the inaugural event.
New tournament. New golf course. Not much history to hide behind.
That makes this a very different handicap from the Tour Championship. The big names are mostly gone, Tour cards are on the line, and we’ve got a wide-open betting board where the favorite starts at +1500.

2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks
The FedExCup Fall starts this week with the first-ever Biltmore Championship. That means we can throw course history right out the window.
Nobody has won here before. Nobody has five years of great finishes to lean on. We’re handicapping the players, their recent golf, and how their games should fit The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
And there’s plenty at stake.
Players inside the top 100 in FedExCup points earn PGA Tour cards for 2027, while those sitting from 101 through 125 are fighting for conditional status. For some guys, these fall events are basically job interviews with scorecards.
This Week on the PGA Tour
The field isn’t loaded like East Lake, but it’s better than you might expect coming out of the break. Jackson Koivun and Jacob Bridgeman are both here after being selected for the U.S. Presidents Cup team. Bridgeman is the highest-ranked player in this week’s field, with J.T. Poston next among the players competing at Walnut Cove.
Justin Thomas had originally committed before withdrawing Monday.
Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover come in sitting No. 100 and No. 101 in FedExCup points. Tony Finau isn’t far away at No. 98. You don’t need a calculator to figure out why these next eight events matter to those guys.
We’ve also got a couple of players returning from layoffs. David Ford is back on the PGA Tour for the first time since April after an ankle injury, while Marco Penge returns after dealing with family and medical issues during the summer.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove Course Preview
Here’s where things get interesting.
We don’t have years of PGA Tour results at Walnut Cove to tell us exactly what works. It’s the first Biltmore Championship, so anybody telling you he’s cracked the course-history code this week is selling something. We do know we’re dealing with a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.
That catches my attention with J.T. Poston because he already won this season at Muirfield Village, another Nicklaus design. I’m not going to pretend two golf courses are identical because the same guy designed them, but it’s another box I can check.
For everybody else, I’ll lean more heavily on current form and all-around play than usual. There isn’t a previous leaderboard to bail us out.
Biltmore Championship Betting Trends
The first thing I noticed is how quickly this board opens up. Jackson Koivun is the favorite at +1500, Jacob Bridgeman follows at +1800, and then nobody else is shorter than +2500.
That’s not the board we’ve been staring at most of the summer.
We’ve spent months seeing Scheffler, McIlroy, Schauffele, and the other big dogs taking up the short numbers. This week I’m not in any hurry to force a bet on one of the two favorites just because the sportsbook says they’re the guys to beat.
Ben James at +2700 and J.T. Poston at +3000 are much more interesting to me.
Then we’ve got some bombs. Seamus Power is +10000 and Lucas Glover is sitting all the way out at +15000. Those aren’t guys I’m betting just because three digits look sexy.
Both have reasons to be on the card.

Why the Biltmore Championship Creates Betting Value
An inaugural tournament can make life uncomfortable for bettors.
I kind of like that.
There’s no automatic “he’s finished top-10 here four straight years” argument for the sportsbooks to bake into the number. Everybody is figuring out Walnut Cove at the same time, and the field gives us some prices we don’t normally see.
Poston has already won this season and finished T4 at the U.S. Open. Glover held final-round leads in back-to-back tournaments this summer, yet we’re getting +15000 on him.
That’s the kind of number that makes me look twice.
No course history means I’m paying for what a golfer is doing now, not what he did here three years ago.
It doesn’t mean we’re firing blindly. Recent form, ball striking, putting, and how a golfer’s game looks coming into the week become even more important when we don’t have a stack of old Biltmore leaderboards sitting in front of us.
FedExCup Fall Pressure
This isn’t the FedExCup Playoffs, but don’t tell the guys around No. 100 that these tournaments don’t matter. Billy Horschel enters the week at No. 100, Lucas Glover is No. 101, and Tony Finau sits No. 98.
The top 100 secure their Tour cards for 2027. Every made cut and every Sunday leaderboard matters from here through the end of the fall schedule.
That can work both ways for bettors.
Some players handle that pressure just fine. Others start thinking about the number beside their name instead of the six-footer in front of them. Golf is fun like that.
First Year of the Biltmore Championship
Usually this is where we’d look back at last year’s tournament.
There wasn’t one.
The Biltmore Championship makes its PGA Tour debut in 2026, so we’ve got no defending champion and no previous PGA Tour leaderboard from Walnut Cove. I’m not going to manufacture history that doesn’t exist.
Instead, this week is about establishing it. Somebody is going to become the first Biltmore Championship winner Sunday afternoon, and with the top of the board starting at +1500, the sportsbooks aren’t exactly sure who that should be either.
2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks – PGA Golf
I’m staying away from the two favorites. Ben James is my first play at +2700 after closing the regular season with some very good golf, and J.T. Poston follows at +3000. Poston has more than the local-boy angle working for him this week.
Then I’m getting aggressive.
Seamus Power at +10000 gives us a two-time PGA Tour winner in a field where he doesn’t have to beat the usual collection of superstars. Lucas Glover is the big one at +15000.
Yeah, that’s 150-to-1.
Glover held leads going into Sunday in consecutive events earlier this summer. He didn’t finish either one, but bookmakers have apparently decided that means we should now get a phone number beside his name. I’ll take my chances.
My 2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks give us four different prices and four ways into a wide-open tournament.
Here are my outright plays for the Biltmore Championship.
2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Ben James +2700
Ben James is my first play at +2700. The 23-year-old finished the regular season playing some of his best golf, including a top-25 at the U.S. Open. He also finished inside the top 15 at the ISCO Championship and Corales Puntacana Championship.
Then he finished third at the Wyndham Championship.
That’s a nice little run heading into a field like this. We’re not getting some monster number, but we’re also dealing with a tournament where Jackson Koivun is the +1500 favorite.
James doesn’t have to beat Scheffler, McIlroy, or Schauffele this week.
My 2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks start with James because +2700 is still playable. He’s been knocking on the door, and this is a much softer field than the ones he’s been seeing most of the summer.
2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: J.T. Poston +3000
J.T. Poston at +3000 might be my favorite number near the top of the board.
He won the Memorial Tournament this summer and followed that with a T4 at the U.S. Open. Poston also finished T24 and T22 in the first two FedExCup playoff events. He just missed out on a trip to East Lake.
Now he gets a tournament close to home.
Poston was born less than 100 miles from Walnut Cove and played college golf at Western Carolina, less than an hour away. I’m not betting him because he knows where to get a good sandwich in Asheville, but there’s nothing wrong with being comfortable.
There’s also the Nicklaus angle. His Memorial win came at Muirfield Village, another Nicklaus-designed course.
That doesn’t guarantee a damn thing.
But we’re getting +3000 on a guy who has already won this season, played well in some very good fields, and should have plenty of support this week. I’ll gladly add the course-design connection to the pile.
2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Seamus Power +10000
Now we’re having some fun.
Seamus Power is sitting at +10000 in a field where he’s already accomplished something most of these guys haven’t. He’s won twice on the PGA Tour.
Power also played well during the fall last year, posting a pair of top-12 finishes. His recent game hasn’t been bad either.
Over his past five tournaments, Power has been gaining strokes in every major area except off the tee. That’s not perfection, but I’m not asking for perfection at 100-to-1. If everything was perfect, we sure as hell wouldn’t be getting this number.
This is the type of field where Power can pop up.
I don’t need a big bet here. Give me 100-to-1 on a two-time Tour winner in this field and I’ll take the shot.
2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks & Golf Betting Odds: Lucas Glover +15000
Lucas Glover at +15000 is the number I can’t leave alone. He’s sitting No. 101 in FedExCup points, so there isn’t much mystery about what he needs this fall.
More importantly, we’ve already seen him get himself into position to win.
Glover held the lead going into the final round at the John Deere Classic. Then he did it again at the ISCO Championship.
He didn’t close either tournament.
Instead, Glover settled for top-five finishes in both. Sundays can be cruel, and anybody who’s bet golf for more than five minutes has probably watched one of his guys turn a three-shot lead into a six-way tie for 11th before dinner.
But now I’m getting 150-to-1.
If Glover had finished off either one of those tournaments, there’s no chance we’re seeing this price. That’s why I’m willing to come back rather than hold the bad Sundays against him.
He’s also a guy I’ll be looking at in the Top-5, Top-10, and Top-20 markets.
The outright is the lottery ticket. The placement markets may be the smarter way to get some extra exposure without needing him to beat everybody.
Best Mid-Tier Value Plays
This board gets crowded quickly once we move beyond the favorites. Rasmus Højgaard and Davis Thompson are both +2500, with Doug Ghim and Ben James at +2700. Kevin Yu and J.T. Poston follow at +3000.
That’s the neighborhood I like.
Poston is my favorite of that group at the price, while James gives me another player who finished the regular season going in the right direction.
Then we’ve got Johnny Keefer, Keita Nakajima, and Corey Conners at +3300. Marco Penge, Beau Hossler, Mac Meissner, Blades Brown, and Eric Cole are all +3500.
There are plenty of bets you could make here.
I just don’t need all of them. Four outright tickets are enough before we’ve seen a single competitive shot at Walnut Cove.
Darkhorse Candidates Worth Watching
The +4000 to +6000 range has some names that could find their way onto my Top-10 and matchup cards. Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Jackson Suber, Michael Kim, Ryo Hisatsune, and Pierceson Coody are all +4000.
Denny McCarthy and Andrew Novak sit at +4500.
Then we get Mackenzie Hughes at +5000 before a crowded +5500 group that includes Billy Horschel, Nick Taylor, Richard Hoey, Ben Kohles, Kevin Roy, and Max Greyserman. Horschel is the name that catches my eye because of where he sits in the FedExCup standings.
He’s No. 100 entering the week.
There are eight events left, so Horschel has plenty to play for. Taylor Pendrith, Emiliano Grillo, Ricky Castillo, and Stephan Jaeger round out this range at +6000.
I’ll wait for the matchup and placement markets before deciding whether I want any of them.
Longshot Golfers With Upside
This is where I’m willing to get weird — within reason.
Seamus Power is already on my card at +10000, and Lucas Glover is my biggest swing at +15000. Power has won twice on Tour. Glover was leading going into Sunday in consecutive tournaments earlier this summer.
Those are actual reasons to bet a longshot.
“He’s 150-to-1 and wouldn’t that be cool?” isn’t a handicap.
There are plenty of other recognizable names down here. Tony Finau is +7000, while Austin Eckroat and Lee Hodges are +8000. Andrew Putnam, Luke Clanton, Karl Vilips, Matthieu Pavon, Tom Hoge, and several others join Power at +10000.
Joel Dahmen is +12500.
Webb Simpson joins Glover at +15000, with Aaron Wise and Davis Riley among the +17500 group.
Long odds are fun. Cashing them is more fun. There still has to be a reason to make the bet.
I’ll take my two swings and stop there.
How Bettors Should Attack the Biltmore Championship
This isn’t a week where I’m betting outrights and calling it a day. A brand-new PGA Tour course gives us a reason to keep some money in our pockets until we’ve actually seen how Walnut Cove plays in tournament conditions.
Top-10s and Top-20s should be useful.
Glover is an obvious guy I’ll be checking in those markets. I like him at +15000, but asking him to beat the entire field is a whole different bet than asking him to hang around the first page of the leaderboard.
Matchups are worth waiting on too.
Thursday should tell us more about this golf course than a week of guessing. If somebody’s game clearly fits and the market hasn’t caught up yet, that’s where I’ll look for another bet.
Live betting may give us the best opportunity of all.
A good player can make one double bogey Thursday morning and suddenly his outright number gets a lot more interesting. If he’s still hitting the ball well, I’m not going to panic because one hole went sideways.
Thursday Could Tell Us Plenty
There’s no old Biltmore leaderboard for me to study this week. Fine by me.
I want to see how Walnut Cove actually plays when PGA Tour players are trying to make birdies under tournament pressure. Which holes are giving guys trouble? Where are the birdies coming from?
And what actually matters off the tee?
We’ll also get our first good look at the greens and how difficult they are to figure out. One round won’t answer everything, but it’ll tell us a hell of a lot more than we know Wednesday.
Sometimes the best bet on a new golf course is the one you don’t make until you’ve actually watched it.
I’m happy with the four outrights going in. After that, I’ll let the golf course tell me what to do.

How to Bet the Biltmore Championship
This is a good week to leave yourself some room for Thursday. We’ve never seen a PGA Tour event at Walnut Cove, so Top-10s, Top-20s, head-to-head matchups, and live betting could look a whole lot better once we’ve watched the course for a few hours.
Glover is one guy I’ll be checking in the placement markets.
I like the +15000 outright, but a Top-10 or Top-20 doesn’t require him to finish off the tournament on Sunday. Considering what happened at the John Deere and ISCO, there’s nothing wrong with having both.
Live betting should be interesting too. If one of my guys starts slowly but is hitting the ball well, I’m not throwing the ticket in the garbage after six holes. Sometimes a couple missed putts are just a couple missed putts.
New course, no history — Thursday might give us some of the best information we’ll get all week.
Weather Could Play a Role at Walnut Cove
Weather is another thing I’ll check before locking in the rest of the card. With no tournament history here, we don’t know how much different conditions might change Walnut Cove over four rounds.
Rain, wind, or a softer golf course could make what we see Thursday look completely different by the weekend. I’m not guessing at it now. If weather creates an obvious advantage later in the week, we’ll use it.

The Biltmore Championship gives us plenty to bet beyond the outright winner. Top-5s, Top-10s, Top-20s, matchups, round props, and live betting should all be available throughout the tournament.

My 2026 Biltmore Championship Free Picks are Ben James +2700, J.T. Poston +3000, Seamus Power +10000, and Lucas Glover +15000. James and Poston give me two plays near the top of a wide-open board, while Power and Glover give us the bigger swings.
